unpopular opinion but i think a ship that's not canon but both halves are canonically insane about each other is infinitely better than a ship that's canon and boring

#like on 911 buck and eddie have never kissed and maybe never will but buck watched eddie get shot and eddie bled all over him #and then eddie listed buck as chris's guardian in his will in case anything ever happened to eddie. insane! compelling!#meanwhile on 911 lone star tarlos is canon and they are not insane about each other and that's why the ship is boring as fuck #on night court dan and harry never kissed but harry planned dan's funeral when dan was presumed dead bc dan made harry his next of kin #and that's way more interesting than any harry/christine kiss we got #i'm not saying you can't want your ship to fuck i just don't see why some people are like 'xyz ship HAS to fuck or what's the POINT'#the point is they're insane about each other. are you not entertained #personal

Keep seeing that post where OP starts like 'Thinking about...grieving the undead' and then adds on about like. Real life situations where people have not died but have left your life and you would have reason to grieve them.

All respect, that's an important concept, but that is not what I am thinking about when I read 'grieving the undead'.

#your brother is a vampire. he's sitting across the table from you chatting with your mother about her day #and he's dead and he's gone and he's never coming back.#he laughs the same and he talks the same but his arm is cold when he grabs you in a headlock and your dog won't be in the same room with hi #he'll still hang around watching TV with you and give you wedgies and make stupid jokes #but you can't tell him about the bullies at school anymore because this thing with your brother's face will just find them and kill them.#and not even stupid fucking Jason deserves what the monster in your dead brother's skin would do to him.#your brother is dead and lost and right there in arm's reach and gone forever with no hope of ever getting him back.#i'm sure there are corollaries to be written about like ghosts and zombies but this is the one i'm personally hung up on recently

Montjuic cemetery in Barcelona

#photography #I spent like 3 hrs here today it's massive and has a lot of elevation changes #But the cemeteries in here confuse me so much... I think I'm too used to the park-like design of German cemeteries #So to walk in such a huge quiet place full of cement and stone and very little nature is so eerie #And I've seen VERY FEW people both here and the one yesterday #Which makes sense - it's not built like a park so people don't treat it like one #But still such an eerie feeling #Like it truly is a place just for the dead alone and not for the grieving #While I'm used to cemeteries built for the grieving

Edit: there are lots of people commenting that they don't think she said that, that the other people are hearing things and whatever and I get it, I watched this clip multiple times, sometimes I hear it clearly, but other times it does sound more like a general scream. I don't think it matters, tho. I don't think this detail is important enough. Yes, they made Isha so Jinx could see a little of Vi's POV, but have you ever heard of a parentified older sibling?! I have, I was one, I still am. Vi was one too, in a way. Jinx's time with Isha was shorter, but there's no mistake that she was a parent figure for Isha, as well as an adoptive older sister, imo. There's a real possibility that Jinx was the closest thing to a mother that Isha ever had, calling her "mama" when they were in danger is not very outside the box for a little kid that finally found people that care for her. Anyways, I think that's the important part about their relationship... the unfairness of it all.

I know some people were salty about Bilbo in the Hobbit movies not wearing the same thing that Ian Holm Bilbo is wearing in the prologue scene of Fellowship, and I hear you. That kind of attention to detail is always wonderful. And I know some people think the explanation that since the voice over is done by Galadriel, she probably just didn't know what he was wearing is a copout.

However...I do enjoy picturing everyone sitting around listening to Galadriel tell the story, and Bilbo starts tugging on Elrond's sleeve and whispering to him like

"Elrond...Elrond...that's not what I was wearing that day."

(being patient with the elderly) "It's okay, Bilbo."

"I didn't even own that waistcoat yet."

(getting exasperated) "It really doesn't matter, it's fine."

"It's not fine. It's wrong. Tell her she got it wrong, Elrond."

(questioning his life choices) "I'm not going to do that, Bilbo."

"Why not?"

"BECAUSE SHE'S MY MOTHER-IN-LAW."
