I just saw the full context and I have to say "relying on wilburs fanbase" for fame is an interesting critique to me both because lovejoy has in fact breached outside of wilburian containment genuinely and actually, two it doesn't matter, and three ppl r gonna be real surprised to discover that previous fanbases have always driven music popularity such as famously Asia being a popular band in rock circles due to previous hype of each members previous bands (yes, king crimson, ELP, and the buggles) and that's just one example if the past. Even recently hemlocke springs or chappell roan's early success can be attributed to their tik tok fanbase which does not say anything negative to them or their brand or music at all even if they also hadn't breached fanbase containment the end.

a fixed shipper is a shipper that prefers only one kind of top/bottom dynamic and isn't willing to read them in a different order, horny-wise. fixed, unmoving preferences. making it clear, it is petty, but in the same sense as being picky about food to me

the previous confession occurred because i had a meltdown at an ask on a different blog that called 'serious' top/bottom shippers as psychotic, since that's an ableist insult; for context, i have experience with my own mental illness being used as an insult to call other people stupid, so i wasn't fond of the wording

So this isn't my school, I don't go here, but the facts are that Sophia left the show in a really abrupt and jarring way, none of the cast said goodbye to her, the musical fans kinda turned on her, and then Alex Brightman made an ass of himself on Twitter condemning beetlebabes and alienating half of his piggybacked fanbase. So ofc the babes chose Sophia as their defacto champion.

you know I don’t think antis participate in fandoms because they want to be creative, they join fandoms because they’re mainstream, cool, a place where you can easily gain clout.

I’ve noticed that people (including antis) who create fan work don’t spend much time discoursing, whereas antis who don’t see value in creating fan works will often argue with proshippers or bring up completely unrelated things into the discussion, or they will make up things no one said

For example, there’s one anti who constantly argues about pro shippers even when none are involved in their posts/ in general. They claimed proshippers treat ao3 as the last place you can freely publish queer fiction and don’t care about the internet archive and queer BIPOC struggling to publish their books, when what people actually said is that ao3 is one of the last places you can publish queer fan fiction without having to worry about censorship or plagiarism. (And besides I’ve seen many proshippers talk about how necessary and important it is to keep the IA alive)

There’s a reason people prefer ao3 over wattpad/ffnet after all and it’s because the alternatives would strike down on anything someone sees as “deviant” or “low quality”, even if its feel good sfw fluff where nothing bad happens

and I’ve looked through their posts and barely any of them contained art. They rather spend time spreading radfem rhetoric (“BL normalizes SA/abuse”) than being creative

do you thing the incest plot in oshi no ko is just for author benefit? something the author inserted for kink/fetish/ect.

I've seen people float this accusation around and I'm honestly baffled by it lol. I understand the kneejerk 'for fuck's sake' reaction to the subject coming up with how it's often used and treated in anime and manga, but to leap to assuming that the ONLY reason an author could have for including it is because they're getting off on it just feels like a bad faith read to me. Like, obviously I don't know what's in Akasaka's head or heart but neither does anyone making this kind of accusation. All we have to judge him on is the art he has created and… I honestly don't at all get the impression that sibling incest is A Thing for him?

Admittedly, I'm not super familiar with Akasaka's work outside of OnK (though looking this up was how i learned that he was a background artist on subahibi and was the original character designer and illustrator for V3 IA??? insane) but from everything I've learned, I've never gotten the impression that sibling incest is a throughline for him and certainly not to the degree that you could call it a kink. I tend to find that when an author has a certain Fixation on a particular subject - sexually or otherwise! - you will see it resurface over and over in their work.

For examples of this relating to incest specifically, you often see incest quite centrally in the works of both Kunihiko Ikuhara and Yoko Taro, not because of any hornybrain reasons (AND IF IT WAS HORNY, TRUST ME, YOU'D KNOW) but because these are unavoidably emergent elements of their shared fascination with exploring complicated and toxic sibling dynamics and how we as humans unthinkingly cause pain to the people who love us most. Compare that to like, Tsukasa Fushimi (the OreImo guy) who very clearly just likes sibling incest as a dynamic, for better or worse.

By contrast, I've never heard anyone say that sibling incest comes up that often outside of OnK. The only example I ever hear is that one joke in that one Kaguya-sama chapter and that's kind of it. So I find it hard to believe this is something Akasaka has such a fixation on, he HAD to put it into his work.

There's also just the fact that… nothing about any of the framing with regards to the OnK twincest is remotely fetishy? On the occasions it's come up since 123, it's mainly framed as a gag. The most overly fanservicey it gets imo - and I'm really stretching here - is that one panel from 124.

Actually there's a good point lol... why are people always coming at Akasaka with the freak allegations when Mengo is the one who has actually written and drawn mountains of explicit incest porn in her own work? God forbid women do anything.

But either way, no, I don't think the incest in OnK is there for kink reasons. I don't think anything in the series is there for kink reasons, purely because none of the framing of these elements feels remotely fetishistic. I think leaping to accuse an author of inserting a fetish into the story because you don't like that they're talking about a taboo topic is a bit silly. Like, we're not out here accusing Akasaka of having a teen pregnancy fetish, right? .... Right...???

Back to my "Hannibal and Bedelia were colleagues in med school in Paris" headcanons.

If we follow the Hannibal Rising narrative line, there's a period where Hannibal injects himself with sodium thiopental to recall what has happened to his sister and basically to bring back some suppressed memories.

I think that wasn't a glorious academic time for him. And I really don't think he had friends other than Bedelia who was his "frienemy" because of the constant competition and casual ust and mind you, their egos were enormous even as students.

So basically she is the only one who notices the change. He looks tired. He looks consumed. He seems faraway during most of the lectures. And this change annoys her cause the only person who qualified as her "competition" was suddenly lacking.

It's not that his grades dropped. At least not enough for anyone to notice. Other than her.

So one night she storms into the library. She knows he is the only one who would be there past midnight on a Saturday. He ia hunched over a book and doesn't even lift his head when he hears her.

She slams a sheet of paper right on the pages of his book interrupting his focus.

"Your calculations were wrong." It's all she says.

Hannibal blinks a few times, taking in the sight of her. He realizes that it's probably raining since her blonde hair and coat are wet. But that's not the reason why she seems to be fuming.

"Is that so?" He asks, a bit bored.

"Yes."

"I will do them again by tomorrow." He says and moves away the paper so he can continue his reading.

She rolls her eyes annoyed, not moving an inch. "You will do them now."

"Excuse me?" He asks, lifting his glance.

"You heard me."

He wouldn't mind it usually, banter was something very common for the two of them but tonight it feels like something else.

"It looks like you are not here because of the calculations."

"I obviously am." She says and crosses her arms over her chest. She doesn't like that he is starting to read into it.

"Are you telling me that you walked through rain all the way to the university, at midnight only to tell me to fix the numbers?"

"It was midnight a long time ago, Hannibal."

"Even more so. Why are you here? I am trying to read."

"What are you reading?" She asks and before he can move his glance back to his book, she takes it away from him. "Tell me, what have you been reading?" She knows that he had probably been dissociating the whole time until she stormed in. He looked clueless but hid it well enough with his usual poker face.

"Something which was more worthy of my attention than this conversation we are having right now. Will you give me the book?"

"Not until you tell me what is actually going on with you." She says firmly.

"Pardon? You are the one who started harassing me."

"I am harassing you because something's wrong with you."

"If you ever become a psychiatrist, Bedelia, please don't apply the same tactics on your patients."

"Don't change the subject. You are not my patient, you are my fr-" she stops and corrects herself quickly "colleague."

He tries his best not to smile.

"And you are the only one here who has enough brains to almost surpass me. And I need the competition. And you need it too, that's our unspoken deal."

Hannibal doesn't bother to correct her about the use of the word "almost" and instead nods, so she can keep going.

"However lately, you haven't been yourself. You are not present. You are not even trying. You don't even know what you have been reading. And your grades are brilliant to everyone but it's those tiny decimals that make the difference. And it's too many decimals between my grades and yours."

Hannibal is slightly amused by this whole discourse. Bedelia was a nerd just as much as he was.

"Have you been obsessing over my grades? More than the usual, I mean."

"Hush, don't change the subject. What is happening with you?"

Hannibal sighs and debates on what to answer. He obviously cannot disclose what he has been doing but at the same time she is the only person in the world who has noticed a change, so maybe, hiding was pointless.

"I remembered something."

"What?"

"I remembered something from a long time ago. Something that I have suppressed up until now." He says. "I won't get into it but it might have hit me harder than expected."

She wants to keep scolding him. She wants to keep interrogating him. But she can't. For the first time tbat night she notices his dark bags in the dim light of the lamp. He looks exhausted. He is still charming, but the usual mischief in his eyes is faded.

She knows vague details about his life in Lithuania but she knows enough to tell that it might be related to that.

Neither of them says anything for a few minutes. She puts his book back on the table.

"The fact that you didn't even bother to lie about it tells me enough."

He nods.

"I wanted to bully you more tonight. But you ruined the mood."

Their shy laughter echoes into the empty library.

"I will leave you to your reading." She says as she is ready to turn and leave.

"I could use some company. You know, I need the competition."

She stays.

& just adding to my previous post. Some people want Paige to go to LA based on a business standpoint. However, LA facilities are trash, and the coach is terrible. They would need to change that whole program around. I think Paige will do fine from a business standpoint anywhere because she is Paige Bueckers and has an amazing management team.

I just want her on a team where she can develop as a professional basketball player and be part of a team that has the potential to grow with support from the coaches & owners.

Swifties are the diehard fans of Taylor Swift for decades since her award and exploded with numerous songs and singles, but Swifties have a history of pushing people back from the Fandom and making people dislike Taylor herself.

  Last year ,a Charlie XCX fan tweeted a photo of himself with a sign about Swifties.Yes,he shouldn't have written such a sign, but did he deserve to be dox online? No,hell no. They found where he lived, his school. And his country of origin that's not okay and he was a teenager. That was extreme backlash from swifties who called themselves powerful and not to be messed with. We could agree that the guy is wrong and doxxing is worse.

  In late 2024, David Gohl's daughter tweeted about Taylor's plane use, and then swifties attacked her with threats about 🪦and 🍇 threats and even homophobic remarks about them all because someone criticized Taylor's private plane us age ?That's not okay just because she's critiquing a celebrity is not a bad thing and you should be up and arms over someone who doesn't know you exist. Toxic swifties are of course ruining a Fandom due to extremeness of the fans.

Everyone knows the term girl's girl and how the term has been revamped for the worst, or it varies on certain community you orbit. Girls girls mean a girl who uplifts girls, supports them with hobbies, earning from them, feeling joy from them and is positive and does not put girls down for what they like and over a boy but a pick me girl is a girl who's the exact opposite: Doesn't support girls, looks down on them, not positive ,puts them down and wants male attention. Why did I bring this up? Cause there's a discourse around it :Every time I see a video with Swifties on Taylor Swift and girls are commenting on not liking them. The first thing people say is that their pick Mes. This throws me into the roof, the wall and whatever. It pisses me off.One: I am defending their actions but highlighting on it. Sure, most people who comment are pick me and others are just haters who live to hate but that's not always the case. Most people are tired of Swifties, over hearing Taylor Swift and all the drama and the extermity of them which puts people off which is valid. But some of their reasoning's Swifties not the commentors is that their doing it for male attention, hating her cause wll everyone hates her and that their pick mes who ecomposes all what I said initially. Girls can have different tastes and interests, girls are not a monolith, not liking femimine thing and stuff doesn't make you a pick me, you are only a pick me when you put other girls down.

This is slight diversion from the outline that I planned, and I am going to dip my toes it.Some examples on why a girl might be put off by the fandom or being a pick me: Some fans get hella defensive when you say you aren't interested ,lose their minds or say you aren't into her new music or she's not your type of artist which is 💯💯valid. Others say that you must hate woman, not saying is a stretch or false because of the type of hate she gets, Taylor but still that's very wild to tell other women which is very sexist and a gross generalsation.Again ,to the obsessive fans,doxxers and overall immature girls. And make er their whole personality. Stop celeb worship. Most hate Taylor herself for only speaking on politics when ia convenient, flying numerous times on her jet and how her fandom babies her like Shes a grown woman, not a baby.To "White" feminism to the Swifties literally baby. To Asylums like that's all sorts of messed up and even Romanizing about the 1800s, if you know the meme. You know it.
