Kris’s SOUL.

Well—Kris’s first SOUL, removed before the player’s SOUL was inserted or grown within Kris.

Ralsei being Kris’s original SOUL, is removed and kept safe in their pocket or potentially stitched in their sweater for safe keeping. Kris keeps their original SOUL on them at all times, hence the initial familiarity Ralsei shares with Kris. Although DELTARUNE is only a parallel story from UNDERTALE, some concepts have been kept concrete between the two–for example, monsters still turn to dust. I dare suggest then that Kris was born with their own original SOUL, and the current player’s SOUL we control is new.

So then what happened to Kris’s SOUL?–I believe Ralsei is that answer.

Let’s take a look at Ralsei. Ralsei looks “similar” to Asriel but not the same. Kris makes a clear distinction of that. Susie, after she sees a picture of Asriel, confuses them until Kris points out all the differences. On the one hand, that could just be a distinct fondness for a sibling—but what if then instead, Ralsei is a self-actualization of Kris’s identity in a perfect world, a world where he was exactly the person they wanted to be, exactly the body they wanted. Even down to the horns that Kris wishes they had a kid, but that Asriel doesn’t have.

Kris wore horns as a kid? Ralsei has horns. Kris practiced occult stuff with Catti? Ralsei has the highest magic on the team. Asriel is the coolest, most beloved person in town? Ralsei is a sweet, endearing muffin who is helpful and sweet to a fault. Asriel gave the church choir “strength” when they were kids? Ralsei goes HAM as the singer in the rock-minigame.

Ralsei has a heart / SOUL symbol on his chest—one could have assumed he might have just been the heart equivalent to Lancer’s spade and never thought about it after. A Jack of Hearts versus a Jack of Spades—two princes. We wouldn’t think about it in Chapter One onward where all the card motifs exist. Yet we get to see the rest of the kings imprisoned and Ralsei looks like none of them. It stands to reason then that Ralsei can't just be one of the playing cards, heart symbol or not.

Ralsei is the one in charge of our tutorial—as if, teaching a new SOUL how things can work, what they can control, and so on. The fact that Ralsei has the ability to go meta like this should speak to their level of knowledge on things. Especially if he’s been here before or, if some theories hold–Kris, Asriel, and Dess used to traverse the Dark Worlds together.

Ralsei is the confidant in so many aspects and often has heart-to-hearts with Kris. In the dark world, they can calmly walk Kris through doing things that shut us out even for a few minutes. There are likely conversations they have when we are shut out of/never privy to. Also explains Ralsei’s resigned tone to Kris after the Roaring Knight fight for them to “Do what they need to do”. It’s left extremely vague, given the Roaring Knight we now know may be in league with Kris, and vice versa. So of course if Ralsei is an extension of Kris, Ralsei might have some idea of what Kris is planning, or doing. Ralsei might also be hoping that if they are an extension of Kris, that Kris will make the right decisions in the end.

…Whatever those decisions will be.

Ralsei doesn’t know what to do once in control of mini-Kris in the video game portion of Chapter 3. If Kris has had him removed for a very long time, in place of the current SOUL, it’s likely that Ralsei barely remembers how to take control of the Kris steering wheel so to speak. So much so that Ralsei has long since accepted that we’re the ones in control of Kris, not him, and *that’s how it’s supposed to be*.

The dialogue during that time is as follows:

Susie: C’mon, just for a little bit. It’ll be fun.

Ralsei: …Umm, Kris, don’t you want your controller back?

Kris/Us: You can have a turn (chosen)

Ralsei: We'll if Kris says it’s okay… So… Um…K-Kris… Which way should I go?

Susie: You got the controller, YOU choose.

*(Skipping through the photo-taking bit.)*

Ralsei: It’s fun…just moving around. Haha.

Susie: Y’know you can do that whenever, right.

Ralsei: I…I guess so. I’m used to following, haha. I’m not normally… Supposed to be… A player one.

Thinking about if Ralsei is the missing identity and SOUL…Well…Kris not being too happy with no matter what we do makes a bit more sense.

Kris’s disdain for us the Player’s SOUL even on the normal route stems from a forced identity. We make them feel like a fraud in some respects because how much would Susie like them if they were in the driver’s seat rather than us? Would Noelle have come back into their lives without us? Would they accomplish HALF of what has happened so far, without us. In a teenager’s stressed out mind, where does one identity begin and the other end? Teenagers go through a shit-ton, and that’s all before graduation. It also explains why Kris ESPECIALLY hates us on the weird route—we are forcing an identity on Noelle, nevermind one she has no stomach for. On top of the other things we make them do to her.

Also, Ralsei being Kris’s original SOUL offers world protection. They are always necessary in every dark world we go, whether it be seeing through the prophecy or simply guiding us along. Likewise, perhaps Ralsei’s proximity to Kris in the light/real world (stuffed in his pocket, not needing a cage because Ralsei is their SOUL after all, why would it go anywhere?) is what keeps Kris from dropping like a full on corpse, and instead shambles like a zombie. These are more anecdotal thoughts however.

So there’s the evidence I have.

tl;dr: Ralsei is Kris’s original SOUL, taking a shape and body in the darkness. He was removed when Kris was younger, and replaced with the player’s SOUL.

Earthspark is the show that proved Transformers fans actually do not like changes or new concepts and only rate a show or a comic as good if they catered specifically to their tastes.

Just like how people act like Transformers One is so new and refreshing when I can point out so many old shits that they borrowed from other continuities.

TF fans apparently have a very long history of hating cool new ideas, but I do feel especially frustrated with the way I see TF One vs. Earthspark treated. I think for people who weren't active in the fandom when the show began, it would be easy to think that the prevailing idea was that TF fans (other than bigots) generally liked it, but that seasons 2 and 3 ruined it, but the truth is, I saw tons of nitpicking of literally every aspect of the show the whole time it's been airing. Honestly, I even saw actual harassment. With the movie TF One, it seems like TF fans generally loved it. Also, when there is the occasional critical, angry post about TF One, you'll basically always see people defend the movie! But I constantly see people say stuff about Earthspark that's just factually incorrect, but rarely does anyone defend the show for some reason? I don't really understand what people wanted from Earthspark, and I don't really understand why people feel they got what they wanted from TF One.

I don't understand why a TF show starring a diverse cast of characters and voice actors that's focused on Blasian kids and explores so many big ideas like what an alt-mode means for a bot's identity, healing from colonialism, and understanding gender, and has some of the best fight scenes in TF history, great music, great designs etc. etc. is so hated... but the movie that has celebrity voice actors, only has two major women in it who are pitted against each other, features the characters voice acted by Black VAs in roles like the comedic relief who adds nothing to the plot, the oppressed bot who rebelled too violently, and the mentor who bestows powers on the heroes but then is executed, and that ends with the hero who was blessed by Transformers God banishing people to potential death in Quintesson-patrolled territory is so loved. Also I do agree with you, TF One is basically a reworked Aligned continuity. Earthspark, while having new takes on things, I would say takes many elements from all different continuities: mainly G1, but I also see plenty of TFA, the Beast era, IDW, and Aligned too.

...Also, just look at how Earthspark teased the Quintessons for so long and then showcases them so effectively vs. TF One in which the Quintesson doesn't even get to have multiple faces! lol I won't lie, I do find it very frustrating that Earthspark has such a meaningful story and lots of references to all different parts of the franchise but I rarely see this praised or noted... but then people cheered when like. There were names on a screen in TF One XD I remember excitement about details like Skyfire's name just being said but he wasn't even there! LMAO

You know what else is crazy? I have been involved in Palestinian human rights / solidarity work for more than 25 years now, including working in the West Bank to document human rights abuses. But because I don't spend every second virtue-signaling about it on tumblr.com; because I disagree with Amnesty International fucking around with the legal definition of "genocide" just because they really really really wanted to call these particular war deaths (but not others which come closer to fitting the established definition) "genocide" and not "crimes against humanity" because they thought the inaccurate word would be more effective at fomenting moral outrage; because I don't think that the word Zionist should be flung around as an insult or be redefined by people who aren't Jewish; because I care that Jews around the world are being harassed, killed, attacked, and experience very real and justified fear for their safety--because of all that, I am "evil," a "fascist," and an "evil Zionist" who "hates Palestinians," "supports genocide," wants to "genocide all the Palestinians," doesn't "deserve to live," and should "kys."

Working on a local issue, sending some money to Realign for Palestine, reading a few books from multiple perspectives to understand the stuff they've been spewing about on the internet and use what they've learned to become more effective advocates for peace.

Imagine if they didn't measure themselves and others by what they said on tumblr.com. If they tried to listen to others and understand them and treat other human beings like, you know, human beings.

alright gang im trying to make sure i fully develop all of my characters for my object show before i do too much with it because i wanna make sure i do this right and Charm Bracelet currently has the most stuff filled out for her so BAM heres my Charm Bracelet ramble

One big thing I'm trying to do with all of my characters is make sure they have something unique to them that's based on their object and CB's comes in the form of her charms. Without any charms on her, she's basically a blank slate of a character. She has four spaces for charms on her, and the different combinations are what make up her personality (and for fun and simplicity all of her charms are based off of the aspirations and personality traits in the sims c:). The biggest thing about CB's character is how she is absolutely NOTHING without her charms and I really can't emphasize that enough. When she has fewer charms on her, not only does she have less of a personality and general character as a whole, but also the fewer the charms the worse her memory is. The best way I could explain it is the fewer building blocks she has for her as a person, the less of a person she has to work with. The human equivalent would be a person with a severely damaged amygdala; with messy emotions and memory issues.

The other big aspect of CB's character is that she is quite literally an "accessory" and attaches herself to whoever she imprints on. Right after she's first created, the first person she sees is Taffy, so that's immediately who she starts following, and honestly wouldn't be able to function without.

CB is very naive, and isn't really all that observant of the world around her. When other people start switching around her charms, she doesn't notice it. She never notices that her personality or emotions have changed unless someone else points it out to her, but obviously everyone else can realize something's different because not only is she acting different, but she looks different because her charms have changed. And this blindness combined with her attachment to other people makes it so she isn't able to see when Taffy starts using her, and chooses not to believe it even after she knows. My girl has an honestly quite impressive level of denial. She would never blame anyone who ever wrongs her, and would sooner destroy herself than try to take something for herself that she "deserves."

If she were to ever want anything for herself, it would be for her to be able to find out who she is without her charms to bind her to a certain way of being, but that would never happen.
