Everyone is entitled to their own ships and headcanons for the ace attorney characters but I think that the one thing that in undeniable is the inherent queerness in all of them.

Like, the delites are a straight couple. A man dating a woman. But the way they love feels very queer- as in, they love each other in a way that I’m not sure if you would find that in the average hetero romance story.

You can ship justicykes. You can ship feenris. You can ship magshoe. But all of them love in a way that is extremely queer at it’s heart- even if you ship them in a straight relationship. And that’s what’s cool. That it’s really hard to remove the queerness from ace attorney.

Genshin things that I will ignore in canon:

Diluc and Kaeya exchanging letters to each other during his 3-4 year revenge quest

Kid Kaeya was a perfect angel who never did anything wrong

Adult Kaeya is a perfect angel who never did anything wrong

(Let the man be morally dubious that’s when he’s most interesting. Plus his recent characterization is inconsistent with his earlier one and his bio lore)

Yae Miko tormenting every single Inazuma guy character (her silly rivalry with Itto can stay it’s funny)

60% of the Venti alcohol jokes (they aren’t funny most of the time. The only time it’s funny is times like when Beidou wouldn’t let Venti and Kazuha drink despite them both being of legal drinking age)

Paimon being the travelers voice (I’m in the minority where I like Paimon as I feel she’s the travelers annoying little sister and with that in mind she’s written rather well but I do agree with everyone who’s annoyed with how she speaks for the traveler. While I’ve never published any fanfics in a lot of my ideas Paimon ends up getting a bit shafted due to me not really knowing what to do with her because outside of being the travelers voice she doesn’t do all that much.)

Most of the Inazuma main story (if I want to I can be willfully ignorant and enjoy the story but after reading gold-rhine’s Inazuma re-write I can never go back)

The traveler being a jerk to Furina at the beginning of her story quest. (In character for Paimon but the traveler I think would at least be a little more understanding and would try to get Paimon to stop guilt tripping her)

Finally, the traveler fails to get Charlotte any scoops from the fortress of meropide. (I know why but they did waste a bunch of her money and that feels mean)

with how the splat 3 fanbase is acting about splatfests, you'd think there's something real and tangible on the line and not like, superficial bragging rights and a few extra snails. idk why people are sitting here and getting angry at shiver as if she's a real person who has any actual will to do anything and not just pixels on a screen, especially when there are legitimate issues with how splatfests are designed and run in splat3, and that's the devs and nintendo's fault, not shiver. she's not real and she can't do anything to you. and i've seen way more complaining about the concept of "toxic shiver stans who always pick shiver and ruin it for everyone" than i have any actual evidence that these kind of people exist on a mass scale. it really feels like that kind of person is a guy that the fanbase made up to be mad at every time they lose. i agree that there are huge problems with splat 3 but the moment someone lays the blame on shiver they throw all credibility out the window. it's not shiver, there's no evil cult of shiver stans manipulating the splatfests, and don't get me started on how people are talking about the asian playerbase with these splatfests.

people can use this site however they want but there's something almost- idk, sad? about how few people are actually using their blogs. you can turn themes on and have skeletons dancing in the background. you can make everything hot pink. your blog is your scrapbook and you can put whatever you want in there. tags are okay at organizing things so you can have just a whole archive of cool shit to look at later. i know people complain a lot about people liking stuff about reblogging for engagement, and on one hand i get that- it is WILD to see a drawing i spent hours on get only 12 reblogs and 60 likes. Absolute culture shock compared to my previous fandoms. but i don't think you should reblog anything to make artists happy. i think you should reblog things so you can find them again. i think you should queue things to appear on the dash at specific times on certain days. i think you should reblog things so when you're talking to your friends about xyz post you saw you can look in your blog's archive and find it again. i think you should reblog things so that your dash is filled with one really sleepy cat. with the loss of reblogs there's the loss of engagement, which Does hurt the community-focus that makes tumblr so appealing, but idk i just wish people were more excited about the incredible amount of customization that tumblr allows and took advantage of that more

i vibe decently with a lot of older mash fic but one weird recurring thing i’ve noticed to the point where it seemed to be kind of a fandom trope for a while, is like... dogtag kink? waxing poetic about how important dogtags are, the narrative specifically drawing attention to them in intimate/sexy moments, swapping them as a symbol of love, considering them an important piece of your identity, etc

which is ofc the exact opposite of the attitude i’d expect hawkeye and co to have towards them lol

my theory is that it’s an imported trope from something like band of brothers, or some other contemporary military-centric media. a few mash fans into both things popularizing stuff from one fandom in the other, something like that

im terrified of where the nico story is going to go because i assume thomas is going to be super insecure about the relationship and make bad decisions because of that. which in itself is not a problem, i am in favor of depicting complicated things even if it’s relationships getting a little (or very) toxic because of the personal issues of one or both of the partners. however. with how long the episodes are taking, i fear that we could only get a couple of episodes of thomas making these bad decisions and no acknowledgement of his errors until months or years later and in the mean time have a multitude of teenagers thinking that this is supposed to be an example to follow. or that these are just normal romantic situations. and those people are responsible for themselves but i’d hate to have a fandom flooded with not-self aware (that’s the key part) romanticizing of actually ugly stuff and having to go through the effort of avoiding it. you know?
