Thinking about how much Orym has changed from exu to now that he gave Ashton kindness and understanding after the shard while he only had anger for Dorian for so much as thinking about taking the vestige.

I don’t know if I’m reaching or just spouting stream of consciousness or what, but I wonder if there’s any correlation with the media finally taking the (threatening) comments said about Taylor seriously and her now being popular in a very stereotypically American (and male) space like football. It’s obviously spurred on by the election and heightened media cycle and her endorsement, but I feel like pundits are calling out the things said about her by e.g. Trump and Musk for what they are for maybe the first time in her career, and it’s just curious to me about what has made the tide turn.

not to make the most pivotal scene of Mockingjay about boys because ew and that's never the point but I also think Katniss is undoubtedly motivated throughout the entire series (as we all are) by the need to protect and defend the people she loves. And while in no way do I think Gale is the main reason she shoots Coin. I do think there's a part of her that sees Coin as the woman who manipulated Gale just as Snow manipulated Peeta. Not in the exact same way of course, but the end result was the same, wasn't it? She couldn't recognize either of them. Them, the two people she loved most in the world apart from Prim. So while she kills Coin because she sees the evil Coin is willing to perpetuate and encourage, do I also think it was incredibly personal when she pulled back that arrow? Absolutely. She was thinking about Coin destroying Gale destroying Prim.

I'm working on designs for non-killjoy characters and i'm starting to realize that the impracticality of killjoys is part of the look? Like while my non-killjoy characters are very concerned with keeping covered to avoid the sun, having supplies on them in case of an emergency, etc, killjoys aren't particularly worried about that. They know they're going to die before skin cancer is going to be a problem. They know they're going to die so what's it matter if the first aid kit is on them or in the car or even back at home? The point is that they look and act entirely the opposite of what the City would want from them for the short time that they are alive, while non-killjoys do care about staying alive and in a way have more hope than killjoys do.

i think something i'm starting to learn and accept is that i'm allowed to be annoying. meaning that i am allowed to talk about myself and to send my friends random shit and boring life updates and they care and want to know these things. and maybe i just never realized that a short answer doesn't mean the person doesn't care. all this to say that i think the key to keeping friends is to share something of yourself even if it seems like you're bothering them bc people don't want a blank canvas as a friend
