rin says it almost too quickly. the first second after that makes your teasing smile falter a little, but you quickly recover when you replay that two letter word in your head again to hear his tone— that familiar sarcasm. the next few seconds are pretty fast. you don't have time to think again as he slowly turns his chair around to look at you after he's tossed away whatever it was on his desk that he was fidgeting with.

you stare back stubbornly, your eyes like fake daggers while you wait for him to say something more.

he leans forward in his chair, staring up at you as you stand right in front of him. his pretty lips curve into a soft "no." as he speaks again. his arms reach out for your waist, trailing down to your hips as he pulls you closer.

"no?" you ask softly, taking two steps forward until you're within reach and he slowly lets his head fall against your stomach.

"no." he replies blankly.

he says no as his hands go from holding your hips to completely wrapping around you, until his face is pressed into your tummy and he's closing his eyes.

"you're so weird," you finally chuckle.

"mhm." he shrugs, that tone again, hugging you tighter to himself, his cheek pressed against you. "you won't get it."

you roll your eyes. "yeah, whatever. i don't want to get it. you keep staying weird like this, i won't judge."

he doesn't respond after that, just breathing in deeply before he slowly pulls you down to straddle him so he can hug you better, feel your hair tickling his face as his face fits into the crook of your neck and you begin to relax against his body as well.

you kiss his dark hair softly, tightening your hold on him as you shift and get more comfortable in his chair. your voice is overly excited and looking forward to saying what you're thinking. "you're like the guy from riverdale. you know that quote? it goes like, 'in case you haven't noticed, i'm weird. i'm a weirdo. i don't fit i—"

"if i let you go, which is really tempting right now— you will fall backwards onto the floor and i will not be picking you up."

I'm pretty sure I've already made a post about cannibalism in hallownest but it still fascinates me the difference between a person bug and a food bug. You could say sentience but a good amount of bugs that are simply scurrying around have thoughts (dreamnail) and once tumblrblazed by the Radiance every bug tends to have narrow and simple thoughts, something else I froth over

The Deepnest bugs (are implied to) eat people, or do they eat bugs, is it out of disrespect of their humanity, or the culture. There could be a natural foodchainare aspect but maybe PK influence disrupted the structure. Are nosks people? I'd love to know what's up with nosks

Bugs were capable of thought before PK (tribes and communities existed before him or WL took power and the Radiance mothtribe seems very advanced) so it could have been a way of life where "cannibalism" had no definition. Imagine the furious debates PK got up too about citizenship and laws, god I love that silly colonizer worm

I had this concept,, what if Takenaka found out about how Mob and Teru first met? I know it’s hc/said mob puts up a barrier so he’s one less voice for takenaka to have to hear but, what if he catches Mob off guard and happens to get a visualization of their fight (everything up until Mob falling unconscious) and he’s upset bc like, why would anyone want to do that to Mob?

okay this is so small but makes me really happy. taketora just got done talking about how much he admires tanaka and how cool and "manly" he is, which like makes sense right, both tanaka and taketora are always being shown as these like loud "boy's boys" archetypes who do everything with power, talk about girls, and emphasize "guts" and "manliness," so obviously taketora would respect tanaka

but then he immediately turns to also think about how much he admires fukunaga in the same way—fukunaga who doesn't display any of those same qualities that taketora was just admiring about tanaka. fukunaga is quiet, fairly low-key and doesn't flaunt anything ever. dude just goes around making weird puns that 1 people often barely even hear and 2 apparently seem to baffle everyone. but taketora sees all of that and sees how fukunaga still shows up and gets the job done more than successfully—he's one of the top point getters on the team—and taketora respects him for all of that, still calls him a "man's man" and tbh more than respects him, he admires him and sees him as a rival

and idk that just makes me happy, like 1 it's a nice small way of furudate saying that yeah "manly" is a thing that's important to taketora but it doesn't just mean one stereotypical thing—like it's showing that taketora isn't as one dimensional as we would have thought and that he sees things from multiple perspectives (we also saw this from him back during the whole "guts" thing with kenma and how he respects him too)—and it's also an example of seeing fukunaga from another perspective too. it's because he's so low-key that even we as readers have probably barely noticed how much of a rock he is for the team, but if you got back through their matches you can see how often he does score—he's quiet but he's always there. and i just like that furudate takes a moment to not only acknowledge fukunaga but to do it from taketora's pov in order to really hit it home to us how true it must be
