I rarely make tumblr posts, but I am so infuriated by this situation I need to say something about it.

Five Hargreeves, who spent 45 years alone in a post-apocalyptic world, and every single moment of his life since was spent trying to get back to his family. The Five who ran himself dry for 2 weeks straight trying to stop the end of the world, and reunite his family. The Five who slaughtered an entire board of directors just to ensure him family's safety. Who turned back time himself, while bleeding out on the floor, just to save his siblings. You're telling me, that the Five whose entire motivation for living was once saving his family, is the same Five, who in s4 has entirely given up, and in the Subway is the one trying to convince Lila to stop looking after 6 and a half years? The Five who never once stopped trying to return to his family in all 45 years of surviving alone, decides to settle down in a greenhouse and live out a cottagecore life?

Furthermore, the same Five who told Lila that Diego loved her, who reassured his brother that his wife wasn't cheating on him and loved him dearly, the same Five who got on with Lila only due to the fact that they both cared for and loved Diego, the person they had in common, is the same Five who stole his brother's wife, whom he had three children with, just because the writers were excited that Aidan Gallagher was finally legal?

Five who hated authority, who despised when people gave him commands, who wanted nothing more than to retire in s3, is now working for the CIA and willingly calling his boss, 'sir'?

Five who used to be so paranoid and suspicious of everyone and everything, who used to solve problems alone and came to epiphanies that saved the world, who didn't even trust a past version of himself, also didn't realise that his boss of many years had an umbrella tattooed on his wrist?

Everything that once stood out about his character is now gone, as if the writers themselves entirely forgot about his existence until the last moment, and added him in as an afterthought, without thinking of the effect he would have on the story.

one of my favorite fun facts is that while shooting the crow, the actress who played sarah (rochelle davis) would always play her nintendo gameboy in between takes. brandon lee never really played videogames and was intrigued by it, so she lent it to him. from then on they started a tetris battle and fought for the highest score. ♡

in the two months they knew eachother they became close friends. the only thing rochelle didn’t like about him was that he disliked dogs because they always bit him. just like his character in the crow he was a cat lover with cats. rochelle joked that she’d gift him a dog for his wedding and he told her he’d wok it.

after the accident happened rochelle wanted to buy him his own gameboy since he loved playing hers, thinking he would’ve loved to have one while in the hospital healing. but as we all know he passed away from his injuries after hours of surgery. they never finished their tetris battle :(

Netflix citing the "steep drop off" of viewership on Dead Boy Detectives for its cancellation infuriates me.

You gave us 8 episodes. Netflix, you know how easy it is to binge 8 episodes, you developed the model for binge TV. But instead of 20+ episodes you do 8. Not even 12. Casual viewership won't binge 8 episodes over and over. Of course the show had a steep decline. People watched it all already in a single day. 8 episodes!

This is why I don't like engaging with new media anymore unless it's a video game. It just feels that all the "streaming giants" have become so disconnected and if something isn't a global phenomenon -- it's gone. But you don't even give us enough content to help you make it a global phenomenon anymore.

At the end of 05x04 Birthmarks he did a paternity test... And even after it turned out that John wasnt his father, he was still drinking his whiskey, because it didn't mean anything that John wasn't his biological father, because things are still the same.

He's still sad, he's still depressed. The dipshit of a man passing still made him sad. And the thought that he can't even rationalize it away as hatred upsets him. And so he drinks.

And to that Wilson said no one can choose their parents... Because House rejects John as his paternal figure and yet deep inside, House still called him his dad.

I think human cop Nick Valentine was a bit less sensitive than synth Valentine.

Obviously he’s still compassionate and charming and I’d imagine he was the best fiancée to Jenny considering he loved her so much that it made Synth Nick NEED to take out Eddy Winters.

He was probably a stand up, handsome guy with a high rank, stable job and a beautiful fiancée. He was probably a little cocky. Like in the healthy way. He was confident and funny and could read a room well and make people feel at ease.

But Synth Nick. Oh my word Synth Nick.

He’s a tossed out, prototype monster made by the Institute that people hated.

That charming “I can get along with anyone” was suddenly wasted. Because they didn’t want to get along with him.

Without his Cop Valentine’s looks, rank, and friends and family. The best personality forced into a shell that didn’t fit it at all. No wonder that’s his main storyline, that must be an unbearable feeling.

The love of a woman he wanted to settle down with wasn’t even his. That woman loved NICK. Not this old synth.

So what does he do? Knowing he’s a shell of another man? He goes off a looks after people. Finds folks missing children, gives Ellie a stable living and career, tries to keep peace with people. He’s so desperate to have a legacy that’s not Cop Valentine’s that he puts himself on the line over and over. He gives up his brain to an experiment that could potentially destroy part of his brain, but he does it without hesitation because there’s a terrified parent looking for their stolen baby.

He wants to help and care for and support because when he woke up a synth, he had memories of love and care but the reality was no one wanted him anymore. So he goes off and cares for others so they don’t feel the way Nick does. He’s a broken, controversial shell with the ghost of a good man inside.
