long time no post, sorry for the hiatus but lmao my rl job threw me through the ringer and then whoops!!!!!! didnt draw for 2+ years. im in a new job now and found out that my settings for clip were fucked up so i did some messing around and now i am having a blast so yeehaw.

this was supposed to be a nose sketch then it somehow turned into the smtv nahobino idk what happened. for a while he looked like chad from accounting but i think i salvaged it kinda maybe. def need to do some more studies on asian people bc it is def not right but i didnt really use any references so thats on me. i dont think im going to finish this, hence the ss, but maybe i will one day. i just wanted to post something since ive started drawing again and should probably dust this blog off at some point

rambling about headcanons, designs, and my process and stuff under the readmore, because i wanna talk about it but dont want the post to be super long !!

i had originally planned to not have a background and then at the last second i decided to speedrun drawing one in a few hours so um. quality difference but its fine. also unrelated but im pretty sure everything about how i draw animals and anthros makes it very obvious i used to be in the warrior cats fandom lol. anyway onto the designs!!

the gold on techno is scars from the totem at the execution, which i think is a pretty common thing for techno designs. he isnt supposed to be a piglin, but rather similar species of anthropomorphic pig. also his mane and tail fluff are naturally brown but he dyes them pink ^_^ so cool !! um. i maaayyy have forgotten the crown until i was way too far into the piece to add it. haha. oops. pretend its missing because. uuh. hes in a casual outfit. "but he still has the cape" yeah its comfy. "but dream has a mask thats not casual" dream is dream he does Not relax fully ever. see entirely intentional i would never make a mistake.

dream is an original shapeshifter species i came up with because i couldnt decide what i wanted him to be. i havent decided on a name for the species yet but i plan to make almost every solid-color or nearly solid color mcyt into this species. theyre mostly involuntary/unconscious shapeshifters. so like they change slowly over weeks or months to adapt to their surroundings, with little conscious control. basically i wanted him to be like five different things so i shoved them together lol, rabbit ears but in a pattern that looks like an axolotl, a cool tail, TOE BEANS tho you cant see them. this was actually the first time ive ever had a dream design im happy with so thats really nice.

i um. i made full use of my time lol, i spent a bit over a week on the lineart, another week on the coloring, and maybe a week and a half on rendering. unless i suddenly became shit at math(which is possible) that adds up to roughly the amount of time i had to work on it. im really proud of myself actually since i usually take a while to do art, and i wasnt sure i would be able to make something id be happy with in this amount of time. but i did! woah!! this was my first time participating in a fandom gift exchange and it was so fun, and also helped motivate me to draw more instead of getting distracted like i usually do (classic adhd moment) lol. anyway super cool!!

ok i havent drawn a lot so ill do a big artdump of some stuff i abandoned or at the very least wont finish for a long while (id in alt and story/thoughts below the image)

In a server that I'm in, we briefly talked about Descole hypothetically returning in NWOS and somebody mentioned he should bring Keats along. Inspiration struck and I drew this. I was hoping I could use Blender to make the buildings and whatnot, but I was intimidated by the task and ultimately ended up dropping the entire thing.

The building that Keats and Descole are on is… Meant to be a rough placeholder, I didn't mind redoing the entire thing but I wanted to at least have a vague idea before the entire draft slipped from my mind.

Segments of a comic I drew for a friend in a super silly AU with dante from the limbus company hand on hip . Id get super embarrassed if i shared the details of the au because we kinda said "fuck it we ball" and made up stuff that shouldn't work at all lol. It's also why there's no text in the speech bubbles.

But the general gist of why I drew this is because we kept discussing a scenario where Descole has to fix up something in Dante's clockhead (vaguely inspired by that april fools episode) and i had a strong vision ab the comic. Also I had to make their head in blender because i was struggling with the perspective and wanted a flexible reference. First time drawing something not made out of flesh fur or fabric!! had a blast rendering the fire and the shine though. SUPER fun super recommend

I just like this little doodle,,, the expression vaguely reminds me of a ghibli villain and it scratches my brain. im expecting him to move on twos at 24 fps very subtly at any moment now.

And finally... um... yeah. "draw a character in this pose" sort of beat. sometimes I alternate using the sketchbook and marker pens in firealpaca and this is one of my rare marker doodles. Also this is pretty old afaik but i still think about it sometimes

Hello!! I love love love your arts. I feel like a lot of them have a sense of 'movement' which contrasts a lot of very polished artworks.

I love works with meticulously planned composition, layers, highlights, etc. I love works with a certain kind of loose yet purposeful application of value and colors. (The Two Cakes thing in the fandom). And I noticed that your arts belong to the latter category which I can rarely find!

If you don't mind me asking, do you have any artists or artworks that you're heavily inspired from? Do you draw on a pen-tablet, IPad, or other media? What application are you using? I feel like three questions are already too much for one ask so you don't need to answer them if you don't want to. I enjoy scrolling through your blog either way!

Bought it 10 years ago as my first device. Still running. Heard a lot of shitty comments about quality of genius tablets at that time, but even more only about Wacom in recent years i think (fuck them. Wtf with pen's tips that are constanty erasing. For who this product is made for. Ew). as for the apps, i use clip paint studio, for studies - heavypaint (great thing). There are AMAZING artists on tumblr who inspire me heavily with their works. like. i follow ~400 ppl here. because i like to stare at art. so. im gonna talk about my favorites! @crowthis - king. queen. i dont know the pronounces sorry. they draw magnificent things i love their style SO much, its such an inspiration. sometimes i just visit their blog to go through art tag and experience all that beauty. (half of their wrks i have downloaded on my desktop) It's loose, quite 'chaotic', but SO atmospheric. The mood, composition, texture, everything. Themes. I like black and white drawings as much as the ones with colours, it so bright and blatant\bold in a way, but it works perfectly, it gives your the right sense of the work. Even tho usually i prefer more calm colours, it makes me go 'wow!' And their works looks really simple and intuitive but as an artist you know that haha no its fcking hard to do things like that. it takes skill and knowledge. loose work is tricky

@frozensoba - idk how much time i could stare at their recent fish drawings like jesus christ. i wish i could do that. i want to be able to do that. my ass is ready to work every time i see it and drawings like these really inspire me to draw simple things and non-humans bc i feel like you can draw beautifully everything that exists. you just need to know how. Colours, texture, rhytm, lines... everything on its place. I love colours especially. Its very gentle kind of harmony going on there, and the palette is huge, intricate.

@nerdyhideoutphilosopher-2 - going crazy over their works. honesty dont know what to say. go look and see. unique voice Artists id like to mention as well: @dynasoar5 - i mean. just go and look at that. i love how loose and messy kind of rendering is but it looks amazing. and overall. simply amazing drawings fuck yes @jadenvargen - just go and look at his works. i see no point in talking. simply beautiful. looks easy but also hard as fuck. the colours are so bright and rich and very bold but somehow everything is right on its place. it leads you where it should. just wow. the skill i respect @snippit-crickit - once again. beautiful. i really love their studies and how they render things, the colours. @sen-art-acc - LINE WORK. LINE WORK. go check it out. LINE WORK!!!! and i simply like how tidy and clean the drawings look like with colours. i cant do stuff like this. i have zero patience to be this accurate and precise. Also if you love loose artwork i should recommend you those artists for sure @shican, @dude-standin i love as well @wuntrum and @cordspaghetti works a lot. I followed both of them because mcr fanart i guess? tho never was into mcr and stayed for the drawings alone Also, if we're speaking about more "pro" (dont like this term either, forgive me) kind of artists i have some huge inspirations as well (tho my art not in any way reminds of them im afraid lmao. but i hope maybe in ten or ok 30 years or more ill be somewhere). There are a ton of artists i like, but its for another post i guess. To much talk. So here we go Sergio Toppi - he's an amazing at working with lines and composition. I have his comic books on my bookshelf. I open it everytime i want to get energy to draw. You cant look at his drawings and NOT to get inspired. He's incredible. The rhytm, the shapes... damn. i can look at his drawings for hours. And he was the main inspiration to work with lines and composition more, to play with it more. I dont have a lot of line-work on this acc (last quiobi drawing, some year\two-old dghda drawings, eugene one) but i actually exercise it a lot. Lines are extremely powerful tool. And as for composition... The shapes, negative spaces, love it. And he's extremely good at working with colour too.

Francis Vallejo - he's illustrations are so good... he's incredible with composition and rhytm his drawings have. Negative spaces, one again.

Anders Zorn - i adore his black and white graphic drawings. Angles, framing, line work. Spent a lot of time looking at his works. Cant get enough of it. The way he draws people, the plot, themes. What he chooses to portray, the way people look, what they do. There is such a special mood to his drawings, there is something extremely psychological about it, isn't there? he's a master im mesmerized by

Bernie Fuchs - composition, rhytm, once again. I love it when you want to look at something for more then 2 seconds, because the rhytm of the drawings leads you into different places and opens its plot in parts. No matter where you look u'll find something interesting and even though there is lot of going on its still not a mess and looks and feels fucking awesome. And i love his colour palettes too. He's very good at setting the mood (check out his less commercial works)

As for the colour here's a few i love. (Though they're still extremely good with everything else)

Hovsep Pushman - the man is a mystery. His work with colours, light and texture is beyond me. Also it has disco elysium vibe to it. I dream of being capable of something like this when im sixty or so (im not gonna be)

Mead Schaeffer - simple but powerful. Looking at his works like eating a tasty ice cream.

same goes to Dean Cornwell - though its a bit more complex, his composing. You need to pay more attention

I'd like to mention one other artist - Jamie Wyeth. his works are something else entirely, i dream of drawing like this one day. Loosiness, themes, mood. Ill probably cry if i see those ones in real life one day, somehow special to my heart, relates

Been silent for a while so I thought Id give an update

Brain has been absolutely FLOODING with ideas for different projects I wanna make like stories and games as well as fanart pieces I realized I never did that I really wanna do and its been so much that Im having a hard time functioning as my brain is constantly dividing itself (Dont worry Im still happy just overwhelmed with thinks ;v;)

I've been experimenting around with softwares to see whats best for me to continue animating in/most comfortable and sadly scrapped some Ideas but I have settled on my next animation a big reanimation project for Sonic adventure where I try to reanimate all of gammas cutscenes. This is definitely gonna be a longer project but I have already started doing sketches to get an Idea of how to render em in my own style heres a little peak at that .

Im also doing a bit of a fan piece on the side of my favorite souls borne boss ever Pontiff Sulyvahn or as I call em MY BOI POPE SULL. Legit a great antagonist and just hands down the coolest fromsoft boss heres a look at that too.

Anywho for game Idea stuff Im still workin on my little Weaver knight project I'm almost done Sir Apells reference sheet then I will be moving on to other characters and regions like "The Storied Knight" or "Craneus the fountain of scholars". This project always gets me super giddy and Ive even started thinking of a sequel game called "Voyager"

The whole Idea of the first game is to literally weave your way through levels with different types of thread that do different things enemies that can only be defeated with weaving and puzzles that work around the different thread types

Tales of Uvanos - I really cant share much on this one without giving away its big twist but... Magical fantasy setting with some """fun""" takes in things like Dragons Magic and Bird People ;v;

Endless wilds - Monster hunter/Ghibli style post apocalypse with """"Magic"""" being more like an extremely unstable element on the periodic table than actual magic Robot tries to raise a Human child who thinks shes a Bird also sinister somethings crawling back up from a long gone age.

Unnamed scifi project - pretty simple people fight eachother in giant mechs theres a dinosaur alien dude antagonist simply named Shred who I do have a sketch for <:D

Prefantasy - FANTASY WORLD BUT SET IN THE CRETACEOUS PERIOD the people are trying to figure out the mystery of "the growing star"

I will eventually give all these original projects unique tags when they start getting really fleshed out but until then I got nothin.

for personality, u can just see jay as my self-insert ahaha jk...unless? 🫡 HAHAH no but tbh i rlly put a lot of me into creating jay, especially aesthetics/fashion sense/etc. id like to imagine jay to be a bit introvert, but he can be very fun around the right people. neo and leon are the clowns of the group bc they are just funny like that. aurelio is the mom-friend: calm, caring, and gentle. santino gives fuckboy vibes unfortunately, but i swear hes nice 😃

ever since my ts3 days, ive always been using sims as some sort of a creative outlet so my sims are literally just pixel dolls in an expensive dress up game tbh 😭 i put lots of creativity into my edits so when it comes to like developing them as ocs, my mind just goes blank 🫥 jay is like my ultimate muse so he pretty much dominates my blog here, but theres more of the other boys on my gameplay blog (@migisyte)! i love seeing them with in-game animations bc its just so fun and cute AHAH and it also helps me slowly flesh out their backgrounds too!

i didnt expect this to be so long but i think it covers quite literally how they exist in my head 🤤 no guarantee as for now, but i do hope to have even more in-depth development for them at some point! thats all i think, thank you for letting me host a TED talk 🫶

proud of myself for not being bitchy today and not being quiet and let a massive grudge form but by god i wanted to just this once

i am such a control freak when it comes to my birthday; it's my day after all. at the age of five i screamed about how no one loved me because i didn't get my own birthday party, and had to share with my brother instead, and was so embarrassed that i decided i would never have a birthday party again to prevent that.

(yes, i was already the way i am and as self analytical as a five year old.)

i tell everyone that my birthday is reserved for my immediate family (true) and i don't want a big celebration because it's stressful and i don't like all that attention (flaming lie). they let me pick a place to get dinner or an aquarium or something, and i get control and attention in that way. i don't think i could handle having a party in my honor because it's impossible for everyone to be celebrating me the entire time, and i couldn't stand the thought of people not celebrating me at an event designated to celebrate me.

anyway, my friend asked me if i was doing anything for my birthday because they wanted to hang out. strike 1. if i was and you didn't know by now, it's because you weren't invited. i told them the immediate family thing, but offered to hang out two days after my birthday. Unfortunately They Made A Joke About It Being A Birthday Party For Me, Rendering Me Incapable Of Being Normal About Our Plans For That Day.

WITHOUT ASKING ME they said they'd ask if our other friend (a) was free (Strike 2), which pissed me off but i brushed it off because we did say we were going to hang out together plus her.

my other friends wanted to hang out in the same area at some point in the next few weeks, and A suggested the 2nd because id already be hanging out with her in the area that day. STRIKE THREE WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU INVITE OTHER PEOPLE TO PLANS MADE FOR MY BIRTHDAY... I DON'T CARE IF THOSE PEOPLE ARE ALSO MY FRIENDS IF I WANTED THEM THERE I WOULD'VE ASKED THEM THERE. AND THEN YOU GIVE ME THE BURDEN OF INTRODUCING MY FRIEND GROUPS TO ONE ANOTHER?? who gave you the right to make the decisions about this. who gave anyone who wasn't me the right to make decisions about this.

i ended up politely asking for a date change because "we had different plans and not enough time for both groups to do them in a day" and got the change, and im very happy i didn't like. do the option that would make me lose all of my friends.

as an artist, are there any super simple art tips that you know that improve a persons art a lot when they start using it? like, my teacher once told me to always have the corner of the mouth in line with the corner of the eye when drawing faces, and that's stuck with me for years, but i really want to know if theres any other nifty little tricks like that. BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU DONT NEED TO ANSWER im only asking because i really like your art and your lineart is really sharp in a way id like to one day be able to do some much simpler version of

Let me just preface this by saying I squealed with JOY when I realized I'd been sent an ask not about my writing, but about my VISUAL ART. My BFA was in painting and what I teach at university is connected to the creation of visual art. So I just get SO happy to think someone else cares about my stuff enough to ask how I make it! Please don't ever be sorry or shy to reach out! <3

Aside doing an actual video (which I could try, one of these days, if you want, but I'm trad only so it'll be clunky lol), here are some thoughts that pop into my sleep-deprived brain:

--It's FINE to use a reference. In order to master line variation and, especially form and movement, you will want NOT to let tracing be a crutch. But unless you have plans to be a sequential artist who has to have a mental "shorthand" of how-to's with various features and body parts, it is ENTIRELY ok to use a live or photographed model. Whoever started the rumor that this is cheating was being dumb.

--Become fluent in various softnesses (and therefore values) of graphite, Conte crayon, and charcoal. Yes, even if you're a computer artist. Learn the relationship between line thickness, perspective, and depth of form. I can go into this more if need be. Your H pencil is going to be hard and pale, and your B pencil is going to be soft and dark. Both have their uses.

--True to a bigger point: Just like in Doctor Who you don't skip Nine, don't skip trad art design fundamentals. You don't have to stay there forever, but let it be your foundational training. You don't have to go to university for this if you're unable. There are free online courses called MOOCs.

--Don't start stylized. Copying things like anime or comic book styles is a valid way to warm up, but you are filtering your work through someone else's eyes. Try to start with the original subject (be it a still like or a portrait) and develop your own unique mannerisms from that point.

--Don't be afraid to stop and toss it, and start over.

--Hardest one: Don't be afraid to erase and redo the part you love best if it doesn't have a correct relationship to the other parts in the drawing, painting, etc. I guarantee you can make something as good as that passage again. It's not gone forever. Don't be afraid to rework.

--Walk away for at least 3 hours and come back. Is it all still resolved or do you need to work on something?

--When choosing a color palette, it can be helpful to already have a neutral midtone established. Also, don't be me and get too ambitious about your colors. Pick like three tops and just do variations of those.

--Do NOT draw a human subject and think of the parts by their names WHILE rendering them. Reduce them to design principles: not "this is the eye," but "this is the dark round shape surrounded by a lighter space." If you think "this is the eye," you will stop really closely looking at what makes this eye unique and just kind of "plug in" stock eye features. This is the biggest enemy of capturing a likeness.

--You can absolutely rework anything in any medium. There are just different methods for doing so, between say watercolors and oils.

--Work with white noise or music. A playlist that keeps you in the zone, undistracted but also calm, is the playlist that you want.

--Know when to quit. 'I rarely feel like my work is "done" but if I keep going, I over work and ruin it.

Yeah so turns out I'm still not done with the Invincible x Lullaby for a Princess brainrot, who knew. I was never fully happy with the traditional version of this so i bit the bullet and made a digital version so i could finally convey just what I've been seeing in my mind ever since i first relistened to the damn song. (Well. One of several images. Idk don't be surprised if in like a year or something i come out with yet another version but with mini scenes from the rest of the mv im imagining. Maybe.) For the record i still don't actually like Invincible or suggest my particular intake of the EU but the muse has been holding me at lightsaber point on this one guys sorry.

As stated in this post, this is based on a scene from the Legacy of the Force novel Invincible, aka the final book in that particular series and the one that depicts the big Final Showdown between the Solo twins in the Legends timeline. Said epic battle conceptually provides amazing fodder for angst and emotional whump, if you're into that, especially when combined with equally Angsty songs (or songs with the potential to be equally Angsty). ...too bad it's not actually as well written a storyline as it had the potential to be 😑. Character assassination aside (rip Jacen Solo you deserved better), this scene has still lived rent-free in my head since i was, like, 10 or 12, so who really had the last laugh? (Me, it was me, cause none of it's canon anyways now so I've decided it's my city now and I'm giving Jacen the happy ending he deserves, actually, so there!)

For the record, i took some inspiration from the original cover art for Lullaby for a Princess when i fully rendered this piece, mainly with the spotlight and particle effects. I spent literal hours tweaking it to get the layout, text effects and background effects right, but i think it was worth it for this final product.

My advice probably isnt very good though; i definitely wouldnt call it skill !!! but it means a lot that you like my art that much and want to hear about it. i guess my main principle is that i try to treat every drawing like a painting, by which i mean i like to apply a lot of color and move it around a lot... i work very additively and switch colors like every 5 seconds so i really just end up with a ton of different tones and eventually i stumble across some that look good. i try not to erase my colors and i work over top of them instead most of the time...so picking colors is more of a process of trial and error than it is a matter of like, skill,

my advice for more interesting colors that ive learned by brute forcing is to move around the color wheel a lot! i try to stay away from monochromatic shading as much as possible because i think it looks boring on my boring drawings. i dont even really mean this in a "use complimentary colors to shade" way, i mean i literally just slop whatever color i want on there and if it doesnt work i do another one over top... you can get some really interesting effects out of it. i love using my full range of colors wherever possible!!! color theory is helpful, but its always just a rough guideline and breaking the rules of it usually ends up more exciting than confining myself rigidly to it for me personally.

the other thing that i guess is my big principle is to not be afraid to use my tools... as a digital artist im in a unique position to colorpick off of photos, edit colors to get smth new and interesting, etc..lately ive been doing a lot of shit like doing a tone curve over a drawing that looks particularly flat (or using posterize on clip studio paint which creates some interesting new colors) and then painting or rendering over that . its easy to feel like thats "cheating" somehow but if the tools are there you should use them!!! heres how that works for me:

If you haven’t heard theres a tale called the girl who fell through the earth like OP mentions. I know the diagram Alice passes isnt very clear but to me it looks as though its a diagram explaining her fall, as a fall through the earth. Further aliding to the fairy tale from Rwby.

As you can see at the end Alice falls on her head. And for me I can predict vol 9 to start like this:

Yang will be falling unconsciously. She will regain consciousness during her fall and start to notice she is falling but doesnt know where. She may see things while falling down to e island but have enough time to regain atleast some if not all of her aura back. Even though she’ll be totally aware for her landing she might be distracted and will clumsily land on her head. After falling on her head shell see something in the brush that catches her attention which she follows deep into the forest trying to catch. Only driving her away from the shore and closer to the TREE.

Because of these predictions too, i don’t think they will fall very far apart from one another in respect to time, they will all get there the same day. Unfortunately they will all fall very far away from each other except for Blake and Ruby and maybe Jaune and Weiss.

Okay I hope youre still here because. I wanted to check my theory out a little more. If alice was falling through the earth its safe to say our crew is as well. So i sought out to find if falling from “around atlas” where exactly would straight through go? Now i know that this was inside a pocket dimension so theres no way to say, however. The first thing to note is that THE WATER IS THE LAND AND THE LAND IS THE WATER!

The shallow sea could be menagerie but it could be a pocket dimension near menagerie. And if this is all true there could be the god of animals that we are still yet to meet and maybe our heroines have some knowledge to seek from him and maybe he lives in THE TREE.

So to conclude, because Yang is so heavily alluded to alice in wonderland i think each member who fell will aquire a “new character “ so to say. I havent thought well into who is who but here are some roles to fill

ugh yeah sadly im aware my art isn't really diverse.... that's mostly bc I really really suck at most stuff outside basic bust portraits. but also it hurts when some people just assume I share everything i draw, that I never look up references or tutorials and never even try to experiment or go for something more ambitious.... the truth is, i practice a lot, I just really hate how most of those drawings turn out (God, just yesterday I was drawing for the entire afternoon, i wasted so much paper and still have nothing to post......). when I go for full body drawings, my artstyle seems to have gone m.i.a. and it just looks as if I traced another drawing, and when drawing dynamic poses everything still feels either terribly stiff or unrealistically bended in uncomfortable ways, it really sucks. I wish i could draw scenes from midground! maybe short comics, even! i really do. I wish I could give more to people who happen to think my artstyle is pleasant or are somewhat interested in my ocs. its all really disappointing, even tho I know I don't really owe anyone artistic growth, that even if i literally never did anything besides front-facing mercies, I wouldn't have to change for anyone, as long as it would bring me joy. But I do wanna evolve and get better as an artist..... and god, I feel like the more I try, the more inferior I feel to all the real artists who post a detailed realistic and fully rendered portrait with a caption of "Just a simple warmup sketch" and like, get 15k notes and their commissions cost like 200 dollars. like I'm so far fucking away from that it's unreal.

I always just went with the simplest possible method of getting him to a normal hospital, perhaps because, when the meaningful end goal is just Kaito Survives Because I Want Him To, precisely how that's reached isn't really the part I'm interested in. So, on the one hand, this could be a slightly different way to achieve that, absolutely, and it wouldn't necessarily be that different if we decide that things go smoothly and Monokuma keeps his word.

But on the other hand, we could think of this scenario not as just a means to the end goal of Kaito surviving, but as a potential story in itself that may or may not actually turn out that way.

Because here's the thing: should they really trust Monokuma with Kaito's health?

Kaito would be nervous as hell entrusting his life to the AI who's been gleefully murdering and tormenting all of his friends. He'd be rendering himself completely helpless and vulnerable, knowing that Monokuma could really in theory do absolutely anything he wants to him without Kaito being able to escape or defend himself. Even if they've made a demand based on having "won" the trial that Kaito should be allowed to live, it would be very within Monokuma's character to technically adhere to the letter of their demands while still finding some way to use this opportunity to make Kaito and his friends suffer for entertainment. Demanding someone be nursed back to health like this is a lot like something that happened a couple of times in DR2, and one of those times, the dying person in question ended up being turned into a robot. Given the situation, Monokuma definitely could have straight-up healed said person if he'd wanted to - so he very much just robotified him for the lulz. And, granted, Kaito would probably be pretty chill with being turned into a robot as an alternative to dying, especially since Keebo exists, but that's just an example. There are definitely even worse things than that Monokuma could do to him.

(While writing this post, I thought of a similar but much more horrible thing Monokuma could totally justify doing here if they made the mistake of trusting him with Kaito's life, and whoops, my thoughts on that idea Escalated to the point that it really kind of deserves an AU post all of its own. Maybe two, even. So watch this space for that soon!)

Ultimately this would boil down to how much they trust Monokuma to genuinely just help Kaito, versus how much they believe in Shuichi's ability to get them out of here and to a proper hospital ASAP combined with Kaito's ability to hold on and keep fighting his illness until then. Essentially, would Kaito rather entrust his life to Monokuma, or to Shuichi and his own strength? Looking at it that way, the correct choice to make here is rather obvious.

...Then there's also the fact that what Monokuma would do to Kaito in this situation has a lot to do with what the audience wants. The whole premise of why the students "winning" trial 5 means anything comes down to the fact that the audience is supposed to cry foul when Monokuma breaks the rules. So really, it'd be their decision as to whether they want Kaito to be simply cured as a "prize" for the students winning, or whether they want something else to happen to him to spice the story up. And even if we pretend that all of my Major Issues with the in-universe audience didn't exist and they were being written here as an actually realistic audience that enjoys watching life-or-death "fiction" with real people... even then, I wouldn't trust them to want an uncomplicated happy ending over more pain and suffering, not when pain and suffering is what they're here for.
