Recently, for the first time ever, one of my sims managed to get to visa level 3 for Al Simhara. I was so excited to be able to buy a vacation home! Imagine my disappointment when I realized there were only three homes available, and ALL of them were out of my sims budget! So I build a vacation home myself, and I tried to make it blend in with all the other homes in town. I'm actually quite pleased with the result and decided to share it with others, who may not want to build their own home in Al Simhara. Details:

Today I kinda decided to start another BG3 playthrough, and do to a re-do with Aranea, and when the moment of creating the Dream Guardian (Halim, once again), I had to stop myself, because I actually realized that I never drew Halim properly, and I had to.

I had to draw the man for whom Aranea would sell her soul to avenge him, even centuries after his demise.

I had to draw the man that made her heart rush with blood and life, the man for whom she she would burn an entire city down.

He is such an important character in Aranea's life and story that I had to properly give him a face (while I adore the CC one from BG3, you know me. I need to put my own personal touch lolol).

So, I went into a deep dive today and just quickly design both him and Aranea (though here she is still Halim's Zil) during their Zakharan Nights. While for Aranea I went for a mix of Ancient Egyptian and Fantasy, for Halim I went straight to Old Babylonia and Assiria. I like to imagine that, while Zakhara is directly inspired by the Middle East, all the different regions within the Lands of Fate have specific regional garments that are inspired by our IRL counterpart of the Ancient Civilizations.

But, ohmy poor heart. It was like in a wrench while I drew Aranea so young and hopeful and innocent, devoid of any sufference, with her beloved husband still by her side...before everything went south.

I don't think she ever smiled so serenely and so happily after losing Halim. She had a good time in Cania with Mephistopheles, but her whole persona is always almost surrounded by melancholy.

And I have to say, I love Halim as I created him.

He is a kind man, level-headed, soft, kind but just. A man of exceptional intelligence and eloquence, with unweavering moral strength, a Sha'ir whose word would always be heeded, and the most loving of husbands to Aranea.

The satin shawls that Aranea is donning in this artwork is actually an enchanted artefact that Halim has imbued with powerful Nocturnal Magic that allows Aranea to walk outside during the scorching heat of the Zakharan sun (despite her having lived in Zakhara all her life up until that point, Aranea is still very much a Drow).

Also, do not let the differene of height in the artwork fool you. Aranea is still very much 183 cm tall here; It's just that Halim is 210 cm tall, since he has Desert Giant blood in his vein, and that render him much taller than a normal human. Let's just say he towers over everyone, whenever he walks around Huzuz.

A Peek to My SFS Stats

I know some creators prefer not seeing their download numbers and that's fair! This kind of stuff can easily cause pressure and/or feelings of underachievement.

For me though, it's just statistics. And since it's pretty precisely 5 years from when I first uploaded anything to SFS, I've gathered some data to play with.

So, this very self-indulgent post is solely about my SFS stats. Just because I'm a total nerd I find it interesting, and I like being open about things. It's long and blabbery so the rest is safely under the cut.

For the background: I tend to create whatever I need for my own game. I share my weird stuff because I feel like it's a trade for everything I download from others.

Probably due to the lack of any consistency or branding at all, my CC has a wide range in download numbers. I have some popular pieces, sure, but also some niche mods like no snow accumulation that has only interested 126 persons in nearly two years.

Even though saying "only 126" is an illusion created by the internet. Imagine if those 126 individuals would come to you in person. That's more people than I've probably even had a real talk with during the last year!

The raw data of my SFS main folder is (calculated with a sheets program): it has 227 files and the average download count for each file is 1557, but 74% of the files have been downloaded fewer times than the average.

So even though my CC isn't usually downloaded that much, I've shared a handful of things that have been downloaded so much more than everything else that they pull the average up.

What are those things? Time is an important factor here, as most CC tends to gather downloads over time (not a single post from 2023 on this list).

1) Subtle wrinkles (January 2022)

17313 downloads (674 hearts; ~3,9% of all downloaders) Post notes: 1112

That's several thousand more than the second most downloaded thing I have, and it's such a random thing.

I'm sure most people have downloaded them to get those 4t2(ish) forehead wrinkles. I have no other explanation as the rest of them are hand-drawn by a person who can't draw. Also the preview is frankly hideous, I used about one minute to take it... safe to say I didn't expect this post to gather any attention at all.

2) Cellphone default (January 2021)

13547 downloads (565 hearts; ~4,2% of all downloaders) Post notes: 1133

Noteworthy that it's been updated a couple of times which pushes people to redownload.

This was a quick passion project, since at that time I couldn't find a cellphone default I was completely happy with. If it hadn't been a quickie, I would've used more time to find a good base mesh oof. Many thanks to @pforestsims for later improving it.

3) Tombstone defaults (December 2019)

12477 downloads (582 hearts; ~4,7% of all downloaders) Post notes: 1064

I was so proud of these when I made them. Those were my first mesh defaults ever! Today, I'm proud of my past self for doing them. That's crazy many meshes and subsets to handle for a total noob.

I couldn't do anything with BHAVs back then, so those defaults would've never ever happened without @midgethetree. She endured a lot, working with a noob who went through several meltdowns because of subset issues that didn't make any sense.

4) Baby personality mod (February 2020)

9724 downloads (489 hearts; ~5% of all downloaders) Post notes: 1193

The first mod on the list! Absolutely essential one for myself and apparently for some others too.

Also the actual first mod of my own ever. I can't really recommend starting with something this complicated, I had zero ability to perceive the scope of the mod when I asked if @midgethetree was willing to help me through it. She deserves all the praise for doing it, I've realized later that I couldn't ever teach anyone the way she taught me. So, if you read this: thank you, Midge.

5) Rabbit pen default (August 2022)

9628 downloads (442 hearts; ~4,6% of all downloaders) Post notes: 1305

This was completely @deedee-sims' idea and project! I just hopped in (hah) to help. I'm only hosting it for practicality, as the BHAVs most often need updating, and those are by me.

6) Turn On/Off replacements (July 2021)

8644 downloads (388 hearts; ~4,5% of all downloaders) Post notes: 1470

This post has more notes than any other post of mine, yet it's not even nearly the most downloaded thing I've done. The two don't always go hand in hand.

I've also shared an updated version of these lately in a new post. It's unlikely they'll get the same amount of attention, which on paper doesn't make much sense since it's practically the same thing but done better. But I'm sure everyone knows that the hype and the quality don't always match.

7) Pixelry’s KKB fridge recolors (February 2022)

8147 downloads (329 hearts; ~4% of all downloaders) Post notes: 662

This is such an oddity on this list since it's the only recolor set and the post has fewer notes than the other ones, too. People just (secretly) really like cute fridges, apparently.

8) Crib teeth anim fix (August 2022)

6157 downloads (431 hearts; ~7% of all downloaders) Post notes: 1408

This list is already long enough, but I wanted to show how fast the number starts dropping at this point.

This got posted a day before the bunnies, and I find it funny to think that for about 3000 people it's more pressing to have bunnies in their game than fixing their toddlers dropping teeth while crying lol.

No point in continuing the list forever, but among my most note-gaining Tumblr posts are also:

Puppy/kitten want replacements (October 2022, 1114 notes, 3849 downloads)

Improved biotech station (July 2022, 1110 notes, 3893 downloads)

Camera overhaul mod (January 2024, 1059 notes, 1752 downloads)

Newspaper default (March 2022, 970 notes, 5052 downloads)

While I don't have a real conclusion to offer, it's clear that notes don't always get realized to downloads, and likewise many people download without interacting with posts.

One more thing I'd like to point out is that the percentage of people who hit that SFS heart button seems pretty constant. I feel like it shows that some people just have that habit and some don't, and it's not likely directly related to how much they like the thing.

The amount of SFS hearts that crib teeth anim fix has gotten doesn't follow this pattern lol. It's really not common to see the percentage change even that much.

I'll be honest here: Simmers choosing to add mods to their game (and that includes CC, which are mods too) but not learning how to properly install and update them or how to use them across game updates, not reading instructions from creators, not taking them out when reporting problems on support forums or to Maxis but saying they did, and not reading available info before asking for support are a HUGE reason modders leave modding (or just stop publishing their mods and keep them only for their own use) and a HUGE reason support volunteers stop volunteering.

So I'm going to bounce off your kind post with some advice for other people.

If You Want to Use Gameplay Mods and Custom Content...

Learn how to use your Mods folder. Learn how to set your folder up with subfolders so that you can find the files you need to delete when you add new ones. Learn what has to go no more than one folder down so the game actually sees it. Something every college instructor quickly learns is that younger people have often never needed to learn about computer file structure before. Well, you have to.

Read creators' instructions. Creators' instruction will tell you crucial things like what a mod actually will and will NOT do, packs are needed for their mod, how your files need to be arranged in your Mods folder, what other creators' mods you need to run theirs, which files to install only one of, etc. Far too many people show up asking for help and the problem is they didn't read the instructions. Instructions are not optional.

Have a plan for something else to do after game updates. Sometimes your gameplay mods and custom content WILL BREAK because the part of the game they "talk" to changed. Have a "vanilla" save or a different game entirely to play while you wait. Develop a second hobby. Clean your kitchen. Call your mom. If you choose to use gameplay mods and CC, you are choosing that you will need to stop using them occasionally, one way or another.

Read AHQ support instructions and follow them. Reporting a game error at Maxis's AHQ? Read about testing for the error without your Mods folder, and supply all the requested info.

Read mod support instructions and follow them. Asking for help with mods/CC from Deaderpool or Sims After Dark or a creator? When you join, read the rules you agree to; they aren't there for fun. If you choose to use mods with unethical or illegal content, expect that you will NOT get support. Answer questions honestly. Upload the files requested, not just pictures of them. Be kind to creators and volunteers: there are very good reasons they're asking you what they are, and if they give up creating/volunteering, you're going to be on your own.

Read broken/updated mod support instructions and follow them. @scarlets-realm and I have very different structures and therefore different rules, but neither of us is going to stay willing to maintain our lists if we keep having to deal with Simmers who don't follow our rules, which we have set up, for one, to prevent false reports, which benefit nobody. I started my list because I was looking for info for myself and thought I might as well share it in a centralized way. If it becomes increasingly annoying, I'm happy to let Simmers go back to Hard Mode.

Don't ask "WHEN". You are not a preschooler anymore, and when you were and were asking "Are we there yet?," you were making it harder for your mom or dad to drive the car. Creators are not working on your schedule; you aren't their managers. Leave them alone so they can actually get to the destination.

Don't ask "What broke". The answer is already available to you. READ AND FOLLOW my Forums list (don't just pop in with a question). Please note that the Forums themselves have rules, and those MUST be followed there. READ AND SEARCH Scarlet's list. If you choose to use mods from creators who use a pirated/cracked game or packs, who paywall any of their creations permanently or longer than Maxis permits for their type of content, or who copy code without permission from other creators, you're going to be relying on the creators for support. Neither of us will support unethical creators by helping you use their stuff.

Get your news about what's broken and what isn't from the established lists, support servers, and the creators. A lot of Sims influencers on YouTube and Twitch use mods, but that doesn't mean they're a reliable source of info, unfortunately. Some are using outdated or broken mods and don't realize it. Some have been known to say that a mod is "broken" when what's broken is a game mechanic or when they think a mod is supposed to be doing something it's not.

You have a choice:

You don't HAVE to use gameplay mods or custom content. Many players don't, including all console players. If you CHOOSE to use them, learn how to do so the right way, and be a supportive part of the community so that you can keep using them.

Hi CC it’s 🫖o( ˊ̱˂˃ˋ̱ ) back again to ramble. Here’s my ramble for the day.

What niche crafts/artforms would the brothers do?

- Lucifer

Paper mache if not origami. Like he does so much paperwork there’s no way all of it needs to be kept. So I can easily see him putting that paper to good use. These crafts are also very technical at times which I feel he’d take pride in the fact that he’s able to do these crafts well (because of course he’s able to do them well). He definitely likes gifting these to his brothers on special occasions. He also makes small gifts that he gives to beloved bf Diavolo daily. (Dia keeps them all would probably have an entire display for them too)

- Mammon

Diamond painting. I mean I feel it’s rather obvious why he’d like it it’s inherently a shiny✨ craft. Though while he likes the craft it would take a long time for him to actually complete one, because while he loves it diamond painting is very tedious and time consuming. Even more so if you’re just using a diamond painting pen that can only pick up one at a time. And Mammon.. I don’t imagine him to have the patience to sit down and work on it for more than half an hour. Except him to pick one up and have complete months later.

Now the obvious answer here is to say cosplaying but I don’t like obvious so I’m going with ✨Perler Beads✨. Now I’m very aware that people will have never heard of this before so allow me to explain. Perler beads are small plastic beads that you place on a pegboard and from there you can create designs. Once you have your pixel art esk design you can use an iron to melt the beads together and voila! You now have a plastic design that you can use for various things like decoration, you can hot glue on magnets and have custom magnets, they can even be coasters, jewelry, and if your ambitious enough you can make 3D designs. There’s many options.

(Can you tell this one of my special interests🧍‍♀️? No I don’t have 175k+ plus unused beads all organized by colour. and no I don’t have 4 big pegboards and about a dozen smaller pegboards. No I don’t have multiple drawers filled with completed items-)

Oh wow we’ve made it back to Levi hooray! ٩( ᐛ )و( I promise I love Levi he’s my favourite character by far! I relate to him so much but that’s fairly obvious if the info dumping is anything to go by..)

Back on topic Levi would make perler beads because you can easily make your own merch with it! He probably would have so many Hana Ruri’s around and he definitely makes his own designs. And he would totally spend hours creating 3D perler figures of his favourite characters. Like Lucifer I can imagine him making gifts for his brothers out of perlers I mean it doesn’t take much time to make a small to mid size piece so he could easily make meaningful gifts of things his brothers like without much effort.

- Satan

Now I’m unsure how exactly to classify it exactly..DIY Miniatures maybe? But what I’m talking about is these pre made sets that use wood, paper, glue, etc to create pretty decorative pieces. To be even more specific the things I have in mind are stuff sold by this one company Rolife. Anyways I feel Satan would definitely like making these especially the book nooks so he can display them in his room. They’re the perfect craft for him to sit down with and listen to audiobooks whilst he builds. I can imagine this also being a way he uses to calm himself down if he isn’t in the break stuff rage.

- Asmo

Ok ok correct me if I’m wrong but is crochet considered niche? Welp if it is oh well but I feel crocheting clothes is probably more niche. Asmo would 100% crochet clothes for himself I mean have you seen crocheted tops they’re so cute!! He’s totally rocking stuff he’s made and he’s probably constantly scouring Etsy for more patterns he can make. He’d totally have lives where he just chats with his fans while he crochets. Not to mention he’d be selling a few and every time he puts up a new item it’s sold out immediately I mean who wouldn’t want something hand crafted by his gorgeous self.

- Beel

Now Beel caused me the most trouble since doesn’t really seem like the type that would into crafts or art really. But I can see him doing tattoos. Now my sole reasoning behind this is the tattoo he has in his human world outfit. And for that I headcannon he has more that he’s done on himself. Another headcannon I’ll throw in is that in his true form he has four arms and so yeah all four arms are covered in tattoos and he has more around his body. Like you can’t tell me that that would be so cool and intimidating that his true form has lots of tattoos littering his body! Finally of course Belphie lets Beel use him as practice as he sleeps.

- Belphie

Similar to Beel Belphie gave me some difficulty because um he’d rather sleep let’s be honest. But if I had to choose he’d make dreamcatchers. Now I personally have never done this myself or have looked into so I can’t speak much on the process. But it seems like something Belphie can easily pick start and stop if he chooses to take a nap midway. Belphie has also definitely made some that are cursed and gives people nightmares and stores them to replay whilst the person is awake because he’s just silly goofy like that ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪.

I have to say that I fully agree with all of these! I've seen that Asmo is sometimes headcanoned as a crocheter which I think is really great! It makes sense to me that he'd crochet his own clothes. I wonder if he ever decided to try knitting, too. It's more annoying imo, but you can get a nice fabric from it, too.

I also agree that Mammon's patience is limited and it would take him FOREVER to finish anything lol!

I can see Belphie giving Lucifer a cursed dreamcatcher as a prank, too. Of course Lucifer realizes immediately and removes the curse.

I am HERE for tattooed Beel! And multi armed Beel, too!! I looove when characters have extra arms omg.

Okay I want to make a book nook SO BAD. Me and Satan, just doing all the lil miniatures. I just can't decide which one I wanna do there are so many. But I think a book nook would look so good on my bookshelves~

I am not super familiar with perler beads, but that does sound like something Levi would be into! Especially if you can make stuff that looks like pixel art, I kinda see him making all his favorite old school video game characters and such too...

Meet Melvin - Kapands Corner Challenge !

The great Kapands challenged us to create sims for the new dating app Cupid's Corner. The challenge was all of august with a theme for each days. It was mostly about creating sims and a little backstory for your own game. Fill your map with PNJ you know the traits, personality and history can definitely be a game changer !

For Melvin as my day 10 - Friend zone, I wanted to tackle a very taboo subject such as disability and all the impact it has on one's life. It can be challenging for people with a disability to be seen outside of it, and yet there is this ambiguous moment where nobody wants to talk about it. Ea has implemented few accessories in CAS to include PRM in game but yet there is no "in game fonctionality" with the new objects. Yes there are Cochlear Implants but yet no hearing disability in game. Thankfully sims 4 community has with mods and CC implemented some PRM fonctionalities which is great for representation.

For Melvin's story, and to have a realistic gameplay, the wheelchair option was not going to work out, unfortunately. Imagine this PNJ who is supposed to be in a wheelchair pop up on a lot standing. It's just not RP. So I found a consolation with prosthetics CC, I talked about it in my previous post ! I know it doesn't work if you want your sim to be paraplegic...but it worked for my storyline. Alright, enough rambling, read his backstory 👇🏼

Melvin Kastavros in his friends group has always been the good friend who to laugh with. But his friends were often embarrassed discussing their love life in front of him. Well, he was not like everyone else. With his wheelchair that no one could ignore, everybody dodged the subject of his disability. And mostly all of the social issues that came with it.

Yes with girls it was... complicated to be seen other than as a good friend. And he hated it. Because he wanted what others had. A normal life. Sentimental experiences, hook-ups, a girlfriend.

In his group of friends, he always liked Annika. She was bubbly, funny and really pretty . Actually, he always liked her more than a friend. But he was too shy or too self aware of his disability to confess his crush to her. He was convinced that she only saw him as a friend.

During his first uni semester, he met a new group of friends with whom he had dared to talk about all of this. His disability, his involuntary bachelorhood. Then his new friends spoke to him about this new app. Cupid's Corner. He absolutely had to subscribe ! He regained so much confidence with this simple talk, he created his profile that same evening ! If for his new friends there were no taboo, maybe girls on this app would see him other than a good friend ?

Thoughts on Inzoi

After much consideration, I think I'll be skipping Inzoi. At least for now.

It's not an issue of specs and I'm actually really happy it exists in general. I've said for years that the life simmer genre needs some variety and competitions, EA has been on top for too long and got complacent.

Checking out some of the new content for Inzoi, something about it just isn't jibing with me. I can't imagine myself playing it for extended amounts of time? I can't imagine making goofy unrealistic things happen.

Plus, I like being able to create my own spaces or more woodsy locations, which I don't think we can do yet in Inzoi if at all.

In the end, I think this game will be PERFECT for people who love alpha cc. Like, no longer do they need to download gigs worth of CC just to get their characters looking nice. 90% of the work is already done.

Not to mention, the world looks great too so that's even less CC and modifications needed to achieve that alpha look.

I expect Inzoi not only to attract Sims players and alphacc enjoyers, but also people who like being able to pose characters and make stories via screenshots and stuff like that. I've seen a few in the ffxiv community.

So. That's where I stand for now. I'll definitely check out the character creator while it's available on Steam, but I think I'll hold off on purchasing the game itself until later down the line should I change my mind.

In the FNAF Movie it's very clear that William wasn't a great father to Vanessa, like look at her when she's near him. She is SCARED of him, she looked so scared and sad when she had to shoot him. And he didn't hesitate at all to strangle her when she said "That's two jobs", and yet...

When he stabbed her and she said "Dad...?" Before she collapses, his face shows regret and wanting to revoke his action. It's almost as if he still cared for her, or atleast part of him did.

And I saw someone theorizing that Cassidy might be William's son, to which I will go over.

Cassidy is the victim of The Bite of '83:

So, I said in a post that Golden Freddy is being possessed by one soul; Cassidy and the Puppet by two souls; Garrett and Charlie. And said that Charlie could be William's daughter and the victim of The Bite of '83.

BUT, I think there's a chance that Cassidy is actually the victim and is William's kid. However a question remains:

"Why would William kill his own child? It was seen in the intro of him taking five kids, with Cassidy being there."

Well... Y'know how Vanessa said that the Five Kids doesn't remember William being the killer until Abby shown them a drawing of what actually happened?

Well, I think after Cassidy died he lost all of his memories and his ghost roamed around the pizzeria. And during the time William was killing the other kids, he was there and believed he died in that time too.

Cassidy doesn't recognize William as his father because nobody showed him he was, maybe Vanessa wanted to tell him but William may have denied it or she just couldn't find the courage to tell him.

That also explained why during the end of the movie, William reached out to Cassidy, he wanted his son to be by his side.

Vanessa is the reason why William became like this:

Now, what do I mean by this? Well, we all know that (Game)Mike killed his brother then William started his killing spree as Matpat said in his FNAF Timeline.

And I think it's the same with Vanessa, so if Cassidy is the victim and her brother then maybe that's why when William said "Help me clean up the mess YOU created!" to her during the climax of the movie, I think he was literal with what he said. She is the one who created it all.

And it's clear that she is scared of William, but maybe she is scared because she hurt her dad, the dad who cared and loved her.

So... Let's imagine it's Cassidy's b-day, the day he got bit (like in the games with CC) and Vanessa may or may not have pushed him into Fredbear's mouth. And I can only imagine how horrified Vanessa was, she looked at her dead brother, her father desperately trying to save him, she did this. She hurt her family on that day, William changed after that and became the monster he is today.

And Vanessa knows/is reminded by William or herself that it all started because of her, she may even have tried to change the past like Mike did with Garrett.

Only to find out that there is nothing, NOTHING she could do to fix it.

William never wanted to hurt Vanessa, she is all he has left:

So, the scene where William stabbed Vanessa and his face showing regret really took my attention. And the fact that he told her to let go of his hand when she grabbed him to stop him from coming after Abby rather than hitting her, to me it seems like he is trying to not hurt her or he didn't have to hurt her. However she refused so he snap and stabbed her without thinking, that's why he looked devastated when he saw what he did to his own daughter. He never wanted to harm her.

William may have been a very normal person, he loved his kids, he made a restaurant for kids and his own kids to play in. But then, The Bite of '83 happened.

Like I mentioned in my post, if Henry is infact Mike's dad and he worked with William then it makes messed up sense for William to kidnapped Garrett because he killed his son. His creation killed Cassidy, William's boy.

And I wouldn't be surprise (well I would be) that after Cassidy's death, he tried to find a way to bring him back. Find any way to fix him, then maybe after he killed Garrett. He found out about Remnant and the power of Possession; he could have seen Cassidy's ghost roaming the pizzeria and learned that he is possessing Golden Freddy.

Hey, I've been really enjoying looking at your posts! I'm trying to start modding the Sims 2 to be medieval too and I was wondering if you had any recommended custom content or mods or anything.

Hey! Omg totally, I'd love to share. You are too kind!!

This blog started as a way for me to keep track of my own stories, honestly. I play with the intention of creating stories for my own enjoyment, and if others find them compelling that is great! That said, I typically don't play with a ton of CC. Enough to immerse me. A lot of the time, I still use base game hairs, play maxis careers, etc. I can look past a lot of things because it is just my silly little game. Info under the cut so as not to bungle up or spam anyone's feed!

I do have a decent amount of build/buy CC and clothing CC. I have gotten a lot of it from Plumbob Keep! I have spent hours just looking through all the stuff in Sundry Goods and Wares, which is their forum for any CC -- clothing, wall paints, objects, you name it. I only got what I felt was necessary to immerse myself, like I said, and have found myself looking for specific other sets to accommodate specific story needs. For example, I rolled a random event that a fucking WAR has started, so now I need some cc bandages and what not. Generally, I like looking for The Sims Medieval conversions and Skyrim conversions. I also have gotten a lot of clothing for my medieval hood and my game in general from Skell. They have done so much work repo-ing and recoloring existing Maxis meshes in a way that doesn't gunk up your CC folder and fits seamlessly with the game. A lot of my other CAS CC (hair, accessories, makeup) comes from DeeDee! I really like their maxis matchy style and the high saturation of their color pallets.

I also use a set of defaults. I have a separate folder of my default replacements labeled "DR Medieval" that I swap in when I'm about to play my medieval hood. Things like plate and bowl recolors, aspiration failure objects, etc. Almighty Hat has some great ones.

I do play with a decent bit of mods, most of which just make the game run properly -- thing things like the nounlinkondelete, smarter EP check, etc. The rest are for my own benefit and storytelling, such as the 3-2 traits project! A lot of my gameplay mods come from MidgeTheTree. Usually I'm looking at mods that expand supernatural sims to make them more fun to play (more witch spells, more plantsim shenanigans, plantsim wings to make them look like fairies, alien telepathy, hereditary supernaturalism...the list goes on) and romance/queer mods. The latter is more to make my game a little more realistic and a bit more aligned with the relationships I like to see in stories. Not in a graphic sense, but more in a "I want my queer sims to have found family, my trans sims to have reproductive autonomy, and my gay sims to marry instead of being civilly joined" type thing.

For medieval specifically, I have a few of the Sun & Moon Star Factory Mods installed. They have A LOT and it is a little overwhelming at times to be honest -- I can't imagine playing with all of their amazing sets. But, some of them are crucial to my medieval immersion -- I want my sims to have a chicken or two, and to farm, and to craft. Many of them require other sets to run, or so they say -- usually this just means a texture from another pack is required, or a core function like collecting/autonomous behavior comes from a different mod. Often times you can do without some of the required mods of theirs -- for example, I have their fishing mod, and their guide says it requires the mining mod. I have no need for a mining mod now but might in the future, so for the time being I only downloaded the physical objects I needed to run that mod -- I need this bucket or whatever, and I'll delete the rest of the mod.

I also rely heavily on random events and dice rolls, tabletop RPG style, to form my gameplay. My sims are not, for example, actually going to kill each other in war. But I AM going to roll, "ok, what are the odds that this day goes in their favor?" Usually this looks like me writing my own scenarios and assigning them numbers/chances to roll, or sometimes I use other people's ROS, like Fir3Princ3ss' medieval ROS doc.

I hope this is helpful! I know it's a lot of info lol, but I tried my best to include links to creators I like. I just try to have fun with it and have a minimal impact on my game folders!

Hi Laura! No need to be sheepish. 💖 Thank you so much for the ask and for indulging my ramblings. I think it's incredibly sweet that you've asked about @lyranova's pairings. They're lovely! I'm honestly a little feral about Zerilliam, and I rambled about that and about the pairings in general in this response to Lyra's ask. ^^

I would be thrilled to share my Fuelara thoughts with you here, especially since, at this point, I am so invested in this pairing that I have to constantly, consciously remind myself that Solara is not a canon character. She just exists in the world of Black Clover in my mind now, and whenever I imagine or think of Fue, she is right there by his side.

I have to be honest that before I found your blog and we became friends, I really didn't think that much about Fuegoleon. I always liked him and had a lot of respect for him, but he wasn't really a character I just sat around and thought about too much. (His brotherly relationship with Leopold is just too functional. Let's blame that lol😂 I promise I'm only joking, and I adore them! Vermillion Bros for the win!!) But you write him with such depth and such nuance that it really gave me a new appreciation for his character. That one shot you wrote about his feelings of inadequacy after his injury has stuck with me to this day and remains one of my favorite fics I've ever read about anything in any fandom. You and your incredibly powerful writing made me love Fue, and as I was coming to really love him and becoming so much more invested in his character and his story, I found your absolutely incredible Solara who is truly (and this is probably intentional on your part but needs to be said) perfect for him.

Fuelara is everything a canon character x oc relationship should be in my opinion. I hope it goes without saying that Solara is such an incredibly strong and compelling character in her own right and I love that you've given her her own story beyond just being Fue's love interest, but even beyond that, she fits so seamlessly into the world of Black Clover (and I know you shared with me in the past that that was something that was really important to you while creating her, and I think you have succeeded in that in every possible way). Like I said in the beginning of this post, I really do genuinely have to remind myself she isn't canon. She just feels like she belongs there. I can't tell you how much the way you've meticulously crafted Fuelara and weaved them into the world of BC has been a personal inspiration for me. (Apologies in advance for the tangent but) my big passion project right now is a very ambitious multi-chapter fic for another fandom which I'm co-creating with a friend of mine, and it involves an OC x CC relationship (that I'm mostly in charge of 😅) so I actually find myself thinking about and talking about Fuelara as kind of this blueprint and inspiration for everything I can only hope my own ship will ultimately be. Even though the world of that story (late 90s/early 2000s suburban America) and the world of Black Clover couldn't possibly be more different, I'm sure Sprinkles could tell you that I have specifically mentioned Fuelara (specifically their relationship's seamless integration into the existing world and story) and what an inspiration it is for me personally, so many times while working on this project. It is truly so impressive, and I want to write like that. (Side note, I have definitely been using your tips and suggestions for OC integration throughout this process, so thank you again for that!)

Beyond just how well Solara perfectly fits into the world (which I've rambled about a lot), she also perfectly fits with Fuegoleon to the point that it's actually difficult for me to imagine him with anyone else at this point. I'm honestly really surprised I have made it through these ramblings without any random, unsolicited music references, but you're about to get one. There's a song called "We Go Well Together" by Goldheart (Spotify; YouTube) and here's a few lines, "We're just like kids up on a swing/Finger and a wedding ring/We go perfectly/It's so easy." That's just Fuelara to me: It's so easy. That's not to say that it's easy for them--they've certainly had their struggles and been through so much together, but their relationship dynamic, their love for each other, and their interactions are just so effortless. Of course Embers is fantastic, but I think I love your cozy little one shots about them most of all because I just adore how they interact with each other. They're so comfortable with each other, and it feels so real and so genuine. There's really no need for me to suspend belief or to try to create some buy in into their relationship. They just talk to each other and I'm immediately convinced they're deeply in love and just perfect for each other. One of my favorite things about them is how they are both such strong people, but they can be vulnerable together, and I love these really tender moments where they encourage each other that they don't have to carry the weight of the world alone. I just can't get over how supportive they are of each other, and I just adore that.

Gah, this ship is just so good. It's canon. It's honestly better than canon in a lot of cases, and I really can't get enough of it. I think I've said this before, but I'll say this again. Thank you for this pairing! I love it. ❤️‍🔥

Since i had graphic tablet my possibilites have become bigger! I love to draw shadows, highlights and hair strands to make the portrait more realistic. I also use liquify tool to smooth edges. And of course color correction. Reshade is good, but not really accurate for me. At the end of the editing i put some filters from Alien Skin Exposure and the final touches: portrait blur and noise.

I think one of the things that makes it so hard to find new creators (that are free) is how insular paywall/early access cc creators are. I literally can't remember the last time any of them used their massive platforms to support newer creators and they only seem to reblog content that features their own stuff or other creators they're close with. They are literally only concerned about their "brand" instead of actually participating in the community that provides them with their livelihoods. If you're looking for content, you're going directly to these creators first and maybe you'll look through finds blogs if you're more invested. To a point, I understand that's how popularity works, but they could be doing so much more.

Plus, since the early access model is so popular, I do think there's a push for new creators to switch to that. You get an initial burst of engagement when you first post and then another when your content is free, instead of just posting once and getting what you get. Also, I do think there's an unspoken rule that "early access creator" = "professional". So, if you want to be taken seriously, you'll imitate what the "professionals" are doing.

I'm sorry you're discouraged trying to find new creators. It's actually insane how much damage the popularity of paywalling has done to this community.

Hey nonny, thanks for sending this and also for your sympathy! I agree with everything you said, and I'm just gonna ramble a bit in a semi related way.

I think the point you made about professionalism is especially poignant. Creating cc is less a hobby now and more a setup for your own "business". But in this marketplace, there are no standards or regulation whatsoever- and many people here are just bad at what they do in various ways. It seems as if they either have the aesthetic & business model down, but are terrible to their customers and/or make terrible product, or they make a good product but can't quite grasp how to play the "game" to work the system to its full advantage. Sometimes you get people bad at all of it, yet they still charge. Because the only consistent thing about this community at the moment is that everything absolutely has to have a price, no matter how shitty it is. And there's absolutely zero consequence for being a gigantic douche nozzle.

This is a mostly disconnected side note, but when I think about these creators, it's just unbelievably depressing. I have thought about what it would be like to try early access a few times over the years, and honestly even the thought gave me such a burst of anxiety I immediately dismissed it. Just releasing cc for free is sometimes an anxious feeling for me, I just can't imagine having to base a business around it. The thought of possibly disappointing people and not consistently providing a quality product that is worth their money is a shameful thought for me. I have gotten a few $1 donations to my patreon over the years and even then i feel bad for not being able to create cc for a while because of my mental health, and not being better at cc making in general. And yet there's people that provide the most lazy, shit items I've ever seen without blinking. Stuff they never tested that doesn't work in game, two second conversions, no hat chops, no lods, gigantic poly, etc. They don't even know how to make cc and admit to that but still charge. I think I would die of shame. I'm sitting here thinking about, do they feel guilt over it, in the back of their mind? Does the stress and the anxiety gnaw at them like it does me? Even just uploading to curseforge for me, causes a bit of anxiety, even though no one pays for it directly. But CF is just another tool to be used to most- now people use patreon, but once its unlocked, the download link leads to CF so they can double dip. So it must not be bothersome to them at all. It's difficult for me to wrap my head around.

...I've gotten so far off track, again. Here's the part where I re-read your ask and try to get back on topic lol. Sorry, my mind runs a lot these days.

I'm glad you mentioned the part about how insular paywallers are. But I think there's even more to this than just popularity. They do not break from their circle, except in the very rare case someone new becomes very popular and they want to do a boring collab with them, and even then it seems limited. I'm pretty sure they have a server (or multiple) where they share people's urls for the purposes of chain blocking them. They also, without a doubt, share people's personal info to one another in order to ban their accounts from their patreons (at the very least). I have witnessed this multiple times. There are several doxxing rings besides the ones that were exposed, at least one exclusive to early access creators. They don't allow new people in/trust others easily because of this. This is why I don't trust paywallers as a rule; not because I think custom content should never be monetized under any circumstances, but because the lack of standardization and consequences for privacy violations makes it unsafe.

I've read through your ask again, and it made me think of something else, so bear with me haha. But the point about how you find newer creators, and how some will go to finds blogs. The fact of the matter is that popular finds blogs have the potential to be compromised as well. I have been blocked by mmccworld ever since EA temporarily banned paywalling and I reblogged a post that had a list of people intending to continue paywalling after that, and they happened to be on that list. They were one of the more popular finds blogs in the community, but I obviously won't be reblogged by them like I was in the past. Now, this isn't that relevant anymore since they're definitely not as highly regarded as they once were, but think about tumblr's lack of algorithm & what you said about how people find newer creators. If you aren't reblogged, you aren't found. And it makes me wonder how many other creators are blocked at a finds blog's discretion. I mean, this isn't necessarily a bad thing; you can filter people how you like, for example I don't reblog from paywallers on mine, or known bigots etc. But it's something to think about, and I think is a smaller example of how simblr works. If you don't play the game and fall in line, if you question the wrong person, you won't get exposure. And to most, in our current system, exposure equals money. Of course you're going to toe the line- no one wants to be publicly shamed, or worse, have a drop in potential income.

This has gone on far, far too long, so let me stop lol. But thanks again for sending this and allowing me to ramble in response, nonny... not that you had a choice 🤣

So I've read some genuinely incredible Star Wars fics recently (I will rec some if people ask) and those are some definite inspirations.

So.... If Shisui was a Jedi (Master, probably, maybe newly advanced) then he'd 1000% be a Seeker, locating and saving Force-sensitive kids and bringing them back to the Temple. He's either woken up after dying in Narutoverse or he's been reborn, haven't decided yet, but he's got all that military prowess shoved in the back of his head and he's very happily clutching to the Light and the Jedi's teachings on peacefulness, mindfulness, and negotiation. He absolutely knows how to use the Force to Shunshin and stimulate a Genjutsu effect. He also has absolutely created his own Lightsaber Form based on his past life and that's how he became Master.

Then the war starts up.

The Grand Army of the Republic, GAR, is filled with Clone 'meat droid' soldiers who need Jedi to lead them... Shisui is not buying it, he's gonna flip his tits and save these guys. The Jedi council decide that, as they're not the experts here in warfare and it's a kindness of what choices the clones can have, the CC Commanders can pick their own Jedi Generals. The Jedi are called back to the Temple, Shisui rocks up almost late with like five war-torn orphans in his arms, and proceeds (alongside Mace, Obi-wan, Anakin) to be a total fucking BAMF lmao.

(Anakin is on probation after he almost massacred a clan of Sandpeople btw. Master Sharad Hett was in the area and felt the rising Darkness and intervened just in time. Anakin is seriously on thin ice for almost Falling so he's stuck under Obi-wan's direct leadership for the war)

Basically Shisui is picked by Rex (Cody immediately calls dibs on Obi-wan (who speaks Mando'a and has all that diplomacy under his belt) for High General and then the meeting completely goes off the rails as everyone (except Bly lmao) goes ballistic becausethere is a LOT of competition for who gets General Uchiha, holy shit that guy is a fighter) and heads the 501st Battalion! Bonus points if Shisui was the second-to-last Padawan of Dooku so Obi-wan is, like, his lineage-nephew despite being older lmao

(oh maybe shisui is presumed dead, a la Jon Antilles, after a Searcher mission goes tits up so Dooku thinks hes literally lost everyone... And Shisui comes back to find his master has fucked off 🙃)

Now I'm like what colour should his saber be... Like red would be the choice but that's a bleeding Kyber, it can't even be a one off difference like Mace's purple... Maybe gold, I always imagine Shunshin as yellow... Maybe white? Hm... oh it could be just off red, like flame orange, so it scares the shit out of everyone lmao....

Basically I'm shoving Shisui into this situation so that he can 1) be a total fucking BADASS 2) be the designated crush of 90% of the GAR and 3) fix canon without realising it 🤌✨

Inspired by D.A.R.E. I used the video for extra reference especially for the front side of the room which i couldn't see well in the reference pics.

Theres a cute little scene in the MTV Cribs Gorillaz short where noodle kicks Murdoc out of her room. The cute ceiling lanterns are missing in this pic because I forgot to start the tab camera from a zoomed out position and they fade when you zoom in my bad.

In the Phase 1 room, that little blue chair was actually Noodle's bed but after she has the white one, so I made it into a chair. If you understand it, please ignore the sign probably meaning something extremely random I can (slightly) read hiragana/katakana but not kanjis sorry I hope it doesn't mean poop or something bad it was just for aesthetic.

I made her room quite messy, because I have an obsession with messy rooms and Gorillaz aesthetics did tend to be quite cluttered and messy.

I like to imagine Cyborg Noodle stole Noodles soldier clothes, so that's why she is wearing them. She is still a badass who loves to train just in case.

I used tons of Cyberpunk 2077 cc for this room and other parts of the building. So that giant head is a Beta version of Shaun Ryder before he could drunk-British karaoke sing D.A.R.E. with Noodle in her secret room. No one is going to convince me that Gorillaz is not slightly cyberpunk, they're a virtual band with holograms, with cyborgs, weird talking robot heads, dystopian and apocalyptic themes and beaches made of plastic.

The bathroom and many parts of the lot were made up but there was no way I was gonna make a poor innocent little teen girl share the disgusting toilets and bathrooms with three dirty grown men ( ×m×) Hers is also slightly dirty but nowhere near as bad I'll post them in future posts.

I created these sims a long time ago, they were so much fun to make, I even made my own (terrible) cc to make certain clothing items more accurate. The lot they live on is Kong Studios, I kind of mixed all the Phases, but my favourite was Phase 2. In the future I hope to do more Phase 3, after that everything is a bit unknown to me as Gorillaz were kind of on hiatus for many years after Plastic Beach and I fell out of touch with them, only to realise quite recently they have tons of new music 🧡

For the inspiration I used I'll leave reference photos I found, from all the old online flash games there use to be, I loved them it's a shame that part of the internet is over x), as well as using their music videos and Rise of the Ogre comic. They're all super bad quality because 240p videos and footage of the 2000's.

Overall I had a really fun time making them and taking these pics, I know they're old but it gives me a lot of nostalgia and I love their music and the entire project. Also I use tons of cc so I don't know if I'll be sharing a CC list, I started making it only to see I was taking 3 hours for barely any of it, so I may (possibly) share it in the future with the lot and sims files, but for now I'm just showing the project. I might also make some cosy lets play videos with them just chilling for my YouTube.

At first it was hinted that MC lost the memory of who they are and what happened, and then it was glossed over as if MC regained it, and then there was the card from Raphael where he said "I remember you helping Lucifer in Cocytus but I know it can't be" or something like that which makes me think they will add a big chunk of drama in upcoming season, and Barb helping mc out with the piece of grimoire but not going with them just because Dia wanted some special cake was... Actually it was pretty in character. I also really, really, liked that we saw Solomon being Dia's butler for a day. Give me more of your unhinged posts! 🐆

LOL! We all get a little Satan-like at times, I think! I also get that way when I first wake up. Probably because mornings are the bane of my existence. But anyway! I also think it's perfectly reasonable to request people use the term that you prefer!

I am so confused about what the characters actually "remember" in NB.

I mean, all of them are like oh MC's room has a special feeling and there was a daily chat from Luke about how doing stuff with Simeon and Solomon felt right or something and a few other such instances that I can't remember. It just made me think that this wasn't actually the past we were dealing with.

I have some half theories about it being some kind of alternate reality created with magic (half because I never thought about them deeply enough to figure out if they make sense), but then they also talk about the "time soup" and all that sorta thing makes it sound like somehow the characters know stuff from the future?

If I think about all this stuff too much, I start to get angry because I think they really should've just left all of that out entirely.

Time travel is annoying to begin with, but then they're just gonna explain it all away with "time soup?" That concept means that none of the time travel actually matters at all. It has no rules and anything can happen and that makes it completely useless as a storytelling technique. Why include any of that at all, then?

If they really wanted us to experience the brothers in the past, they should have dedicated themselves to that storyline. Make it so that MC goes into the past, potentially has an impact on everyone they meet, and then travels back to the future. No time soup. The past brothers suffer because MC leaves them. The future brother suffer because MC was gone. This then changes the future because now the brothers remember MC from the past. OR potentially say that the brothers don't remember MC from the past at all, but MC does. OR it could just be a magical simulation and MC experienced how it was for them the past, but they were never actually there. I mean at least all of these options have some kind of sense and rules, even if they're still a little murky. But time soup?!?!

Okay, see, this is what I'm talking about. I start thinking about this stuff and I just spiral into nonsense.

I definitely loved that Barbatos had to stay behind to make a special recipe for Diavolo, that was exactly in character. He was like okay I can help MC and make the Young Master his requested dish all at the same time... and look, he did it because he is Barbatos and there is nothing that guy can't do! lol I love him.

Oh I forgot about Solomon having to help out at the castle to make up for his transgressions, I think it's pretty funny that Barbatos was okay with that. Of course, he was still there to supervise, can you imagine if he left those two alone?

Anyway, this is admittedly just the tip of the unhinged iceberg, but the whole NB plot has the potential to trigger rants from me lol.

I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I'm still hoping that the next season will clear up some of this stuff for me. The hope is at about 50/50 right now because they don't exactly have a great track record with this stuff imo.

see my view on the whole like real life shipping thing is that while I think platonic or soft romantic content is for the most part fine I think people need to consider the implications of sexual content more seriously

like me and my best friend flirt with eachother all the time, we call each other things like ‘babe’, ‘gorgeous’ or ‘honey’, she has sat in my lap before, we have kissed others cheeks and hands before

people flirt and joke around with their friends all the time, especially if they are close with each other, we have both consented to the joke y’know?

that being said, that doesn’t mean I would like to see people (especially ones I don’t know) drawing or writing sexual material of us together

not only would it be very uncomfortable for the both of us, it could even potentially put a strain on our relationship and how we interact with each other in the future

it’s also incredibly invasive and parasocial and there is also a lack of consent from the people you are creating the sexual content of for the material you are creating

not only that but again these are real people, like yes they are putting on a character at times but the lines are very unclear with streaming between the character and actual cc and I think people need to actually realize the implications of that

like please just imagine for a second that ur minding ur own damn business and just find countless pieces of sexual content that complete strangers have made between you and a friend of yours, again I’d personally find that a bit distressing

not only that but by creating this material you are technically involving yourself with them in that matter, this is especially bad if the creator is a minor- from an outsiders perspective who may not be as clued up about the internet this could be misinterpreted in … concerning ways

I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m not expecting people to stop producing this material even if I personally find some of it a bit yikes, a lot of people do just be horny on main after all

however i do think people should be more mindful of where they post this type of content, it should at least be tagged appropriately so people can block it if they would like, or it should be posted on a separate account with the cc’s themselves blocked from the account (unless for some reason they have given the ok for fans to draw that if they want) so that they don’t have to see or interact with the content or even just keep the sexual content to a private server etc

I mean perhaps in just being over dramatic as I’m very much from the internet age of not posting ur real personal info or that anyone you talk to could be a bad person etc so I think I do just have a lot of internet related concerned anyway but Imao
