I think it is both funny and slightly alarming that there are those who possess an intense dislike for anyone who ship Asha with Star (one person even derisively called this ship “Starsha” but jokes on them i like it xD);

1) “BASIC WHITE TWINK IS MORE POPULAR WITH THIS SHIPPERS THAN THE BLACK HEROINE” I think they conveniently forget that everyone knows what Asha looks like and is more or less fine with her appearance; The Star’s human appearance, on the other hand, has not left the figurative drawing board beyond the art book, therefore it is fun to delve into character design and see how he looks more fleshed out. Also, what do they mean “basic white twink?” I’ve seen plenty of Human/noid!Star concepts with various skin tones/ethnic features/builds. Then again, I explore more social media platforms than just Tumblr.

2) “THESE SHIPPERS KEEP WHITE/LIGHT-WASHING THE HEROINE” They are exploring the concept designs that were shown in the art book. Also, Afro-Latinos/Hispanics have a range of skin and eye colors. Another also: NOT ALL OF THE SHIPPERS CHANGE ASHA’S OFFICIAL APPEARANCE.

3) “WHO’S GOING TO TELL THESE SHIPPERS THAT THE HUMAN STAR IS/WAS GOING TO LOOK LIKE HER GRANDPA?” We already know. We also know that was one of the POTENTIAL options that wounded up being scrapped. Therefore, Starsha headcanons don’t have to be tied to one single idea that could have happened.

4) “WHY ARE YOU SHIPPING ASHA WITH A HUMAN BOY VERSION OF THE LITTLE STAR WHEN _insert canon film character_ IS RIGHT THERE/ASHA DOESN’T NEED A ROMANCE?” First and most important of all, because we can and we want to. Second of all, not all of Starsha shippers headcanon the Star to be male. Third of all, no one has any issues with shipping Asha with any of her canon friends (or even a self-insert) or headcanoning her to be happy single; the only ones I see having any problems with any shipping are the ones who don’t like we are shipping the original concept of the Star and Asha.

Sorry for my rant. I just find it weird that those who don’t ship Star x Asha or who aren’t a fan of the Humanoid Star seem just so offended by the fact that this portion of the fandom exists and is having fun with their headcanons so far. It’s not like our headcanons have any effect on the official WISH Film.

Hey all absolutely excellent points! Yeah my rule is just, let people have fun with stuff? Cuz like--yeah guys none of this actually affects anything IRL of any actual importance so, chill out and go do what you want instead of getting upset other people don't want to do the same? Spending your time trying to police everyone else's fun just leaves less time for you to have any.

1. What’s your favourite sims death?

Hum, tough one. I guess being struck by lighting is pretty cool, not that I get to see it that often. Also being hit by a satellite, but I’ve literally never seen it happen in my game unless I cheat.

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

Alpha, obviously. Although I prefer to call my style ‘semi-realistic’.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

I used to, but now I’m like, nah. Let those sims have some meat on their bones!

4. Do you use move objects?

All the time, bruh.

5. Favorite mod?

If I only had to pick one, then Gunmod’s radiance lighting. Picked based on the fact that it’s always the first mod I get whenever I have to reinstall.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

I think it was Nightlife? But my PC from back then was so weak that I couldn’t get the EP to work at all, save for a couple outfits that were randomly showing up in CAS.

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

Been pronouncing it ‘aLive mode’ ever since I started simming. I never even knew there was a debate about it until I saw a post on simblr some years ago.

8. Who’s your favorite sim that you’ve made?

What, just one? D: I have a bunch of faves, and you can probably tell who they are by the fact that they crop up in every new iteration of my game.

9. Have you made a simself?

Never, nor do I plan to! Having a sim version of myself in the game would just feel weird.

I don’t know them all by heart and I’m too lazy to google 'em, so pass. xD

I wouldn’t say that I necessarily have a favorite, but I noticed a lot of my sims tend to have black hair.

Imma go with hairshortcombed solely based on the fact that I don’t have a burning urge to replace it the second I see it in my game.

Adults, duh. And teens. They’re pretty fun too.

I do a bit of everything, but I definitely lean more towards gameplay, especially since starting my BaCC.

I think it’s gotten more consistent? I’ve been trying to find a balance between realistic and cartoony cc to maintain that elusive ‘semi-realistic’ look that I’m so fond of, and I like to think that I have a pretty good grasp on it now, after so many years of simming.

Never had one, lol.

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?

One favorite cc creator? BRUH. I have a 10GB downloads folder, and you better believe every creator whose cc is in there is my favorite! 🤣

By offering a blood sacrifice on a full moon. Nah, kidding. No blood is spilled during my editing process, though it does feel that way sometimes, considering how effin' long it takes me to iron out all the small kinks that annoy me about my screenshots. I kinda hoped having a dedicated photoshop action would help, but it only speeds up the process so much, unfortunately. :(

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?

For Sims 2? Dunno man. Maybe a higher-res remake with all existing EPs/SPs and all known issues ironed out. Which is probably never gonna happen, but a girl can dream, right?

I’m partial to Apartment Life because it introduced witches, one of my favorite supernatural life states!

Are you named after anyone? Nah, my parents really kind of hated those naming after people traditions so they were suggested my name by someone and liked it and decided to use it.

When was the last time you cried? I don't know, last night? Not really going through the best time of my life so there has been lots of crying. I lost track.

Do you have any kids? No.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Me?? Use sarcasm? I would never do such a thing to hide what I'm really feeling.

What sports do you play/have you played? I'm too short to play any kind of sports professionally but I love being active. I used to play volleyball when I was in school. Love badminton as well. These days my usual go to is running and swimming.

What’s the first thing you notice about other people? Their eyes. Always the first thing I'll look at and then the way they talk and their voice. I give everyone a certain amount of time to assess if I like them or not and if they fail, I'll probably never end up liking them.

Scary movies or happy endings? Neither. Don't like scary movies and I don't like it when things end. Adventures must always continue!

Any special talents? Nope. Nothing. I just know a bunch of stuff about a dozen random things, there is nothing special here. Wait, there is one thing, I can move my forehead and ears xD

Where were you born? A small town which is stuck between steep mountains and an unforgiven black sea with rain clouds always lurking in the distance. I love that place, definitely would go back as a tourist. Just sucks to be from there with all those relatives.

What are your hobbies? I dunno, take a pick. Doodling, guitar, piano, gaming, reading, running, stargazing. A bunch of stuff I'm just mediocre at. See question #8.

Do you have any pets? Yes, I have a budgie. I lost her friend a few months back and I still miss him. R.I.P Percy. He was the bestest of birbs.

Fave subject in school? PE. Hated sitting class at all times just throw me outside and give me a ball to chase.

I dont really do ToA anymore for multiple reasons- most of it being the final movie kinda caused me to lose my hyperfix on the series and the fandom left sorta a sour taste in my mouth (old drama, no point it unearthing it again but tldr; i dont like when fandoms become popularity contests where some become like the ‘leaders’ who people worship only their opinions and hcs and no one else) that I didn't feel like participating anymore sadly. and also my interests just changed, its Wizards fault i got into Arthuriana, and that led into monty python and idk i just like watchin mcyts xD

I honestly wish I still had some interest in it bc I left a lot (and i mean a lot) of fics unfinished that I wish i could have finished (IWAY and the Douxie fic especially) but everytime i open the wip i just get writers block lol

I do occasionally like go through the tag and rb fanarts to the sideblog @arthurshuge-tractsofland which is the only reason I made that bc if im gonna be real I want people to be on my art/main more for my current fandoms then like if i go back to being a ToA main (which I was for a good long while) but yeah!! FYI older art uploads in ze future

Idk how much far I go back with my uploads but like I prolly go for a bit maybe even early 2000s so lots of art uploads from way back lie ahead xd I still love most of them dearly and I think it's important to keep old art around in galleries or somewhere people can still get to it because those are where I come from, those are where my style developed from bit by bit those are where many of my OCs came from too and idk I wanna share that with people. I want you to see from where I started roughly (roughly because the really old stuff is harder for me to find I started uploading stuff to the internet when i was like.. uh 14/15, I would need to find, re-scann and also erase my deadname from a lot of stuff, bc back then I did not have a nifty signature that nobody can possible read) when I began uploading my stuff to the internet and how things just slowly but surley geared mostly towards ladies and hair and wings and details and my love for thicc lineart. Funny side note on the line art though? My very first OC artworks were made with a fountain pen from school with black ink in it and a broad tip, so my lines were naturally broad due to the nature of my pen. (which I also used for writing, in school, bc I was still in school back then and it feels like forever ago while I am writing this fuck XD) Sometime soon though I found thin liners that did not smudge with copics like my ink did so I entered the dubious zone of touch does thin lines forever, then goes back to his roots and makes it thicc. Anyway... what I'm trying to say is, I think it's nice to see an artists journey, and I love it to pieces when I can catch glimpses of peoples old art and see were they came from/started out from. So yeah imma slowly go through my stuff and bring old stuff back online. I used to have a gallery (on DA) that went all the way back almost to the beginnings but I changed accounts in 2011/12 to my new artist handle (back then in ye olden days name changes were not yet a thing on DA) and while the younger account still exists I have everything thrown into storage because fuck DA. I keep my "archive" there until they get funny ideas like deleting accounts of inactive users or whatever. But it's no longer public and like I said only goes back to 2011/12 anyway so yah. Like i said i do not know how much of the really old stuff is gonna come back online but I'd like to bring some of it back. Guess Imma go tag my art posts with the years they were made in too for filtering purposes xd But just fyi I also have a FurAffinity account were I am basically also try to do something similar and have a whole folder structure dedicated to years of creation for the very same purpose. Just in case that's more convenient for some of you but I am in no way caught up with uploads there either. Nb4 it comes up: I am currently too lazy for a personal website were I could go chronological madness. Again, these would be long scrolls, so you wouldn't have to go through all of em

Reunion - Kit Herondale x Ty Blackthorn, from Kit’s POV

Kit had decided that if he wanted to be left alone, away from the prying eyes of everyone else in the house, the kitchen was his best bet. He couldn’t forget the way that Tessa and Jem had jumped forward to protect Mina, as if he was a danger to her. His stomach dropped as he remembered the fear that had flashed through Tessa’s eyes for a brief moment, before it was gone.

He would never hurt Mina, would he?

He wouldn’t hurt her intentionally, that much he knew.

That didn’t necessarily mean he couldn’t, though.

He looked back down at his hands, still holding the gun. There was some sort of black stuff smudged on it, and it rubbed off on Kit’s hands when he touched it.

He may as well clean the gun, then. 

Of course, he wasn’t exactly sure how to. But how hard could it be?

His face was slightly scrunched up in concentration as he held up the gun, about to—

“That’s not how you clean a gun.”

Kit’s head whipped up, shocked, dropping the gun, because he knew that voice.

He’d heard that voice in his dreams, in his memories, in his nightmares. 

The voice conjures up a memory in his mind: a dark night, a pale face with floppy black hair, illuminated by the moon. And those gray eyes….the eyes he will never forget. The hurt in those eyes when he said those last words, laced with venom, as he struggled not to break. 

“I wish I’d never known you.”

Ty. It was Ty, in the kitchen with him, the remains of a Portal behind him.

Kit’s breath caught in his throat, and he was hit by so many things all at once. Confusion. What was Ty even doing here? Surprise. Sadness. Anger.

So so so much anger. It burned through his body in waves, rolling off of him. 

Anger, as he remembered the last time he had seen Ty. He remembered again, his words to Ty that night, and his eyes filled with tears. He blinked them back.

“You think this will make your family stronger, but it will destroy them, if you bring her back. You think you can’t survive without Livvy, but you can. We will go through it together. I love you, Ty. I love you.”

He remembered again Ty’s blank expression at his words. Like he didn’t even care. Like he didn’t care that Kit had put everything on the line in that moment. Because Ty didn’t care about him, that much he knew now. Ty would never care about him. Because, in the end, Kit meant nothing to Ty. Ty didn’t even care enough to acknowledge Kit’s words, to listen to him when he most needed to be heard.

Kit’s mouth turned down in a frown. And when he spoke, it was in a cold voice. “You shouldn’t be here.”

Ty broke Kit’s eye contact, looking out the window. Kit could see that his words had affected Ty, but only for a second, because then his face went blank again.

Behind Ty, he noticed Livvy, floating above the ground in the same white dress he had come to know her to wear. 

He looked away from her, before his anger could be directed at her too. He knew it probably wasn’t her fault that they were here—and yet, he wanted it to be someone’s fault. Why else would Ty be here?

Kit was angry, and hurt, yes…but he wanted to believe that maybe they had come for him. Maybe Ty had come to ask for forgiveness, maybe he was finally going to acknowledge Kit’s words from two years ago.

Instead, Ty said “How long do you think it will take you to forgive me?”

It almost felt like Ty wanted a specific time, like he thought Kit was being ridiculous. Like he wanted to know when Kit would be done throwing a tantrum so he could show up and say ‘I told you so’ and it infuriated Kit.

But what infuriated Kit even more was that his heart was beating like crazy inside his chest. He was fighting his instinct to go to Ty, to be there for him. Ty didn’t usually like to be touched, but he liked it when Kit did it. Maybe he could hug Ty. Or maybe Ty wouldn’t feel comfortable around him anymore. Because he left, and they were both different now.

Kit was so tired of this. But he had also learned his lesson. He couldn’t be around Ty—not without feeling so much pain, so much embarrassment. He didn’t belong in Ty’s life. Ty didn’t need him; he had his siblings. He had Helen and Aline, and Mark, and Julian. He had Dru (who Kit was assuming he would be hearing from very soon, depending on whether or not Ty told her anything), and Tavvy, and his friends at the Scholomance. And he had Livvy. 

There was no room in Ty’s life for Kit anymore. He was a fool to think there ever would be.

“I don’t know,” He told Ty, because truthfully, he didn’t know. His feelings were scrambled, but he knew enough to know that it still hurt like hell to even think about Ty. Being this close to Ty—it was like torture.

He felt his eyes flick to Livvy again, and this time it was almost accusing. She didn’t know what had happened between him and Ty. At least, as far as he knew, she didn’t. But he didn’t know whether Ty had ever brought it up. He hoped Ty never had. He couldn’t handle the humiliation. Every time Dru had asked him what had happened, he couldn’t tell her. He’d tried, but every time, he just couldn’t say, or text, the words. 

How was he supposed to tell her, or anyone, that he’d run away from Ty when Ty had needed him most. How did he explain the betrayal, the dismissal of their friendship, of his feelings. He should’ve been able to stop Ty. If he couldn’t do that, how was he ever supposed to be anywhere near him, knowing that he’d failed to get through to Ty?

“She’s gone, Ty. She’s gone forever. You have to get through this. Your family will help you. I will help you. But not if you do this. Not if you do this, Ty.”

He focused again on Ty, really taking him in, despite his own hesitations. Ty was taller, thin but not too thin. He looked healthy. His hair looked mostly the same, maybe a little shorter. His jaw was more defined, his eyes, if possible, an even more intense gray. His shirt was unbuttoned on the top, and Kit could see the hollow of Ty’s throat. He wanted to gently kiss it so badly it felt like it was eating him up from the inside.

“But not now,” Ty said, in such a quiet voice that Kit almost didn’t hear him. Kit watched as Ty swallowed, his throat bobbing up. 

A lump formed in Kit’s throat. Dear god, Ty was beautiful. 

Kit shook his head, just barely, feeling like all the weight of his feelings were pushing down on his shoulders, making his whole body feel stiff and cold. 

“No,” He said quietly, because if he spoke any louder, he was afraid he might break down. And he could not break down. Not in front of Ty. Never in front of Ty. “Not now.”

As he watched Ty leave, he felt empty. Hollow. Ty wouldn’t look at him, but Livvy was plainly staring. Livvy looked kind of angry at him, but she didn’t say anything to either of them.

He could’ve sworn there was a glint in Ty’s eyes, almost like tears. 

But that couldn’t be right…

And then Ty was gone, Livvy with him.

Kit didn’t move, couldn’t move from where he stood. He wasn’t sure how to feel. His heart hurt, and he could feel tears forming again. But this time, he let them fall, because no one was around to see them.

“Oh Ty,” he murmured, his eyes landing on the gun again. “I wish I could forgive you. But I can’t. I just can’t. I hope you understand that.” 

He picked up the gun again, and pulled out his phone so he could google how to clean it. Ty was probably right, he was definitely doing it wrong.

He forced all thoughts of Ty out of his head and busied himself with the gun yet again.

Astralignment

and the Korribani Calendar System

Before the arrival of the Exiles the native Sith on Korriban had their own system of keeping track of time. Over the years, this became standardized and refined and is still in use by a large portion of the modern Pureblood community. Since the ancient Sith were observant beings of their world, many of the names and symbols reflected their natural environment. All of these aspects go into what is known as a Sith’s astralignment (astro-alignment).

Since the Empire runs on Imperial Standard Time (IST), anything relating to Korriban or any other Imperial world is referred by the local time of that planet.

Compare a year on  Dromund Kaas to Korriban:

60 minutes = 1 hour

24 hours = 1 day

5 days = 1 week

7 weeks = 1 month

35 days = 1 month

8 months (+4 weeks and 4 holidays) = 1 year

28 (standard) hours/day

780 (local) days/year

21,840 (standard) hours/year

70 (standard and local) minutes = 1 hour

24 (local) hours = 1 day

10 (local) days = 1 week

6.5 (local) weeks = 1 month

65 (local) days = 1 month

12 (local) months = 1 year

780 (local) days = 1 year

This roughly makes 1 Korribani year approximately 2.9 [Dromund] Kaasi years.

Calendars

The days on Korriban are annotated on some versions of the Imperial calendar alongside the standard days.

In this example, names of the days on the calendar reflect the IST. The black numbers indicate the date in IST, the red numbers represent the date of the Korribani calendar. Placement of the Korribani date indicate when that day begins in relation to the Kaasi one.

A. 00:00 is the same for both. B. 00:00 K starts at 04:00 DK. C. 00:00 K starts at 08:00 DK. D. 00:00 K starts at 12:00 DK. E. 00:00 K starts at 16:00 DK. F. 00:00 K starts at 20:00 DK. G. Loops back around and 00:00 K lines up 00:00 DK .

While seemingly complicated to some, most Sith have grown with this system of overlapping calendars and can easily tell the date by the positioning of the numbers in this format. 

There are of course, electronic versions where the date is shown simply:

Since the Korribani month is longer than the Kaasi one, the dates will continue through the Kaasi months. These next two pictures show how long 1 Korribani month is in relation to a Kaasi one.

There is also a version of the Korribani calendar that does not overlap with IST. These are used locally on the planet.

The days of the Korribani week were named after major gods from the most widespread pantheon on the planet:

Ahmuriq, from Ahmurn: the creator god.

Marseriq, from Marserha: mother goddess of the Sith.

Bashariq, from Bashara: goddess of passion.

Teraiq, from Teral: god of protection and justice.

Iskarliq, from Iskarln: god(dess) of conflict and war.

Marduriq, from Mardur: patron god of the Massassi and strength.

Rusaniq, from Rusanel: goddess of knowledge.

Zefiriq, from Zefir: goddess of the hunt.

Shumariq, from Shumari: god of the harvest.

Goruiq, from Gorul: the trickster god(dess).

Months

There are numerous constellations in the Korribani sky. Twelves of these mark the months of the year as well as going into the astalignment. The 12 major, monthly constellations all depict local fauna from ancient fables and have certain characteristics that are commonly associated with them.

1. Yuninchâtsutuyok, the jiminat and agzonûboj engaged in eternal conflict. Dedicated, ambitious, and insightful.

2. Qyalatuyok, the qyalak. Calm, sentimental, and inquisitive.

3. Badzuriqatuyok, the badzuriqash. Tenacious, practical, and direct.

4. Kaarjontuyok, the kaarjontû. Spontaneous, contemplative, and observant.

5. Tukatatuyok, the tukata. Loyal, respectful, and staunch.

6. Hatyatuyok, the hatya. Articulate, perceptive, and adaptable.

7. Lomaituyok, the lomait. Disciplined, fearless, and competitive.

8. Dzushatuyok, the dzushaj. Private, calculating, and flexible.

9. Mowhetuyok, the mowhef. Stern, traditional, and ruthless.

10. Dyaltituyok, the dyaltir. Mischievous, studious, and charismatic.

11. Jhan’dikanatuyok, the lost dikana. Creative, sociable, and resourceful.

12. Niqoituyok, the niqoit. Erudite, cunning, and free-spirited.

Years

The years are also represented by local animals. No one, not even Sith scholars or historians, are sure of the origin of how these animals came to represent the years on Korriban’s calendar. It is one of the many parts of Sith culture that have been lost since it is believed this particular record has been passed down through oral tellings.

The years are kept track of in a 6-year cycle with each year emphasizing a likely success for the ones born in that year.

Chiroik - Wealth

Wokinai - Knowledge

Natûsh - Fame

Dzenal - Influence

Litskoj - Power

Sulemish - Longevity

(ie. Those born in the year of the Sulemish will have a long life.) This again factors into a Sith’s astralignment.

In addition to the years, these 6 animals are also used for the hours on Korriban. But time is not conveyed in the same manner as Basic. While in Basic one would simply say “14:25” (or two twenty-five in the afternoon) the Sith have a much more involved way to convey time.

For example: Shyracks screech and return to their caves as the priestess prepares the altar in the hour of the wokinai.

Translates to: 07:15 local time (or seven fifteen in the morning).

As a side note, a few centuries ago Darth Feras domesticated and bred wrats within the Empire. At first they weren’t seen with much interest by her peers. But popular rumor has it that she pointed out her creations embody the physical traits of the yearly beasts.

Hands - Dzenal

Feet - Litskoj

Tail - Sulemish

Afterwards they quickly became a favored pet and companion among the Sith, being seen as an auspicious animal.

While not related to their calendar there is a tradition of being assigned a birth flower. For this, the Sith do not look to their skies but rather, when a child is born the placenta is buried in a pot with 12 seeds. The first of these seeds to sprout becomes that Sith’s birth flower. These 12 flowers are also used in medicine, therapeutic or preventive, for some common ailments.

Serla for headaches.

Roshal for good eyesight.

Nashkir for sore throats.

Atsudqâ for heart health.

Hyaranjat for good digestion.

Mûyoin for muscle pain.

Shasâyar for fertility.

Jûzon for blood circulation.

Ashanin for bone mending.

Qoyo for fevers.

Chisiqsanu for irritated ridge skin.

Kûsk’inti for fatigue and replenishing energy.

The last two parts that go into a Sith’s astalignment are their energies. The weekly energies correspond with 4 classic “elements” of earth, fire, air, and water. While the daily energy simply refers to day or night (d/n) in regards to when the person was born.

Combined with all aspects mentioned in this document, year, month, weekly energy, day (+energy), and flower, one can study a Sith’s astalignment.  ex. Darth Vowrawn’s astalignment factors:

The study of these astralignments is a complicated field on to its own while the findings can be very important to some among the Sith. There are specialized scholars who offer their services to the old families so that the “perfect matches” (marriage, business, or otherwise) can be set up.

There’s 3 to a group and they take their job very seriously. They come in any color. All are about 6’4 and are very fluffy teddy bears.

Basically indestructible. They can have rips and tears but the medi bear will stitch them back up. If set on fire nothing happens at all they just get very hot to touch. If their patient is being threatened they will try to subdue the threat first and only resort to full on attacking if the patient is directly harmed. If anything gets cut off that doesn’t stop them they just keep going. The parts just reattach themselves.

At night they don’t stop their job they’re always active they’ll just flop onto the ground to make it look like they’re not active.

One is in charge of making sure the person is taking whatever medication they need if it is required and making sure they stay hydrated. If the patient refuses to take their medicine or drink the water this one will just stand there and keep holding it in front of their face until they take it. If the water gets knocked out of their paw they always have backups. They keep the medicine nearby at all times in a compartment in their left arm.

Where the blush would be on the cheeks are mini analog clocks instead and has a first aid sign on their right arm.

Another is there to make sure they are eating properly and getting exercise. They are always gentle with the patient. With refusal to eat they’ll just keep doing the airplane no matter how much food gets knocked away until they eat. They make the food themselves. Refusal to exercise this one will kinda just attach themselves to their body and move around with them. Imagine yourself doing your everyday stuff but with a teddy bear attached to your back. Like a shadow but physically touching you.

Has a chef hat with an apron on and also has leg warmers on.

And the last one is there to make sure they are getting enough rest. You know how on some hospital beds you can raise it up or down? They also do this. They can warm up like a heating pad. And will sometimes vibrate in place. This one is just always hovering nearby and just watching the patient. Refusal to rest will cause physical restraint. The bear will just hold the person and sit down with them and their body locks in place. They will carry the patient around like a baby if they need to.

This one is just a regular reedy bear except for the smile. The smile is very wide and showing all teeth.

Long story short you got two options. Do what you’re supposed to do for your recovery or have care bears take care of you. Just cooperate and everything will be fine

(there’s a lot more but I’m very tired and need to sleep on this xD this is just the general idea)

Glad to hear it, anon. :) I try to keep an open mind with these discussions.

Tbh, I kinda get uncomfortable with some of the stuff I've seen in her tag regarding Zuko especially. I've seen a handful of people kind of dismissing him as being whiny or sensitive, and I just don't really vibe with that. I don't have anything against any of the people I've seen posting it, but I just don't vibe with.

I'm also gonna take the opportunity to try to break some of the misconceptions about the Azula fandom by saying that I don't feel afraid or intimidated to kinda go against a good portion of the fandom in a sense. And that's because, fellow Azula fans have never really outcast me or tried to fight me for saying that I think that Azula's a bit of an abuser. The Azula fandom imo, isn't full of bullies and hateful people; everyone I have talked to has been very open to a nice discussion. I think that it just depends how you approach them with your arguments.

All of that said, Imma get back on topic here; It’s a little tough to talk about Azula's flaws sometimes because I feel like (though, thankfully this hasn’t happened on tumblr to me yet) that some people take pointing out flaws in your faves as bashing them or posting hate.

But honestly this is really cool to hear because back when I first opened up this blog I used to do that thing where I’d justify everything that my faves did, which was a bit of a problem because my faves are all antagonists! xD So there has been a lot of progress made.

I think that there are three main reasons that people have a hard time admitting that she’s an abuser too.

I think that the biggest one is that a lot of Azula fans lately have been massively on the defensive. There has been quite a bit of hate in her tag, there have been things said by the writers (taken the wrong way or not), there have been a lot of generalizations, and so on. And all of it kind of puts fans on the defensive. I see so many posts about how Azula is irredeemable and just the worst, most evil character in the show and so people kind of swing hardcore the other way (Azula did nothing wrong) to make up for all of the demonizing she gets. One extreme usually leads to another. Seeing Azula get so much shit, like being called a killer and a sadist, provokes the Azula is a cinnamon roll reaction. Basically when a fandom gets put on blast for being 'the crazy' or 'mean' side of the fandom, I feel like it creates a cycle where that part of the fandom starts to actually act meaner because they feel backed into a corner. The more they are called 'delusional' for seeing good in Azula the more radically they will start to defend that belief until the shades of grey start disappearing, if that makes sense.

But this is just a theory of course.

The second reason I think that people tend to dismiss the things she does do wrong is that there's this association with criticism and hate. And this goes beyond the Avatar fandom. In general I feel like people find it hard to say bad things about their favorite characters because they feel like they're bashing their character and/or they don't want people to think that they are being negative. Plus it's just kinda hard to say bad things about something you like/love. Speaking as someone who used to do this; I always felt really weird about or like I was being negative when admitting that things I like have flaws. I'm not exactly sure why I used to feel like this because it wasn't an, 'I seem myself in this character, so insulting them is like insulting me' thing because I usually have almost nothing in common with my faves. Idk, it's just always been way easier for me to find things I like in a character I hate than it is for me to find things I don't like in a character that I do. On a personal level, it might just be because I'd rather focus on liking things that I like than hating things that I hate?

I guess that I think that it's just easy to forget that 'I don't like xyz aspect of Azula' is not the same as 'I don't like Azula at all'. I think that it's possible to love a character but not love everything about them, just like real people; you can love your mom to death but there will always be those things about her that drive you nuts.

And really, imo, I think that fans who are able to see flaws with their faves are the ones who understand them the best. I'm definitely not saying that the people who don't see/acknowledge their fave's flaws don't understand their fave. But I think that they are missing out on very crucial aspects of their favorite character. If you like a character you should like them for what they are in canon, not what you want them to be or what they could be.

I see a lot of potential for growth in Azula. I see potential for a redemption arc and I do love what her character can be. But I also love her character as is. Currently in canon, she's manipulative and goal driven to the point where she has a disregard for people. Currently she's an antagonist and I love her for that. Because antagonist, unredeemed Azula is the character I liked in the beginning. I don't condone her being manipulative and I don't like that as a personality trait. But I do love it as far as, she is a fantastically written antagonist. And those cold, manipulative, abusive traits add to her complexity when juxtaposed against her own abuse, insecurities, and need to be loved.

And that's kind of what I mean when I say that, if you like Azula, you should like her despite the flaws.  If that makes sense. I feel like people who say that she isn't an abuser (at least to some degree) kind of have a misunderstanding of her character. I think that one of the points of her character is to show that some abused kids don't come out okay. It's a tragic reality.

But with Azula I think that there's still room for her to change and start to break that cycle. I feel like she'd have a much harder time doing it than Zuko, because she has been subjected to his mental abuse in close range for much longer than he has. And I think that it would be something she'd struggle with her whole life, but I see good in her.

That said, I think that the third reason people have trouble seeing her as an abuse is because it is just really hard to see abuse victims become the abuser. I've mentioned before, but I come from a family where the chain ended with one of my parents. Said parent has told me many times how hard it was to fight that kind of upbringing. That's the real tragedy of abuse, it just goes on and on until you're mentally strong enough to fight yourself and break that chain. And the sad thing is, that some people just can't seem to do that. And I think that when discussing Azula, this comes into play a bit; it's just hard to look at even a fictional abuse victim and knowledge that they've become the abuser because it is all that they have known.

It's just a really hard topic and  that's why it's so easy for discourse like this to get heated; a lot of people have an Azula in their lives or relate to her in some way.

EDIT: There are a few things that I don’t think I was clear enough on with the initial post lol. First and foremost, I’m definitely not saying that these three reasons are the only reasons people don’t talk about Azula’s flaws. @wingsfreedom​ made a good point about differing ways of interpreting scenes. That’s another biggy. 

The other thing I want to clarify is that I don’t think that Azula is a full on abuser. I think that she displays tendencies and does some abusive things. But I also don’t put her on the same level as Ozai. I feel like she’s a bit more merciful than him. Like Ozai is pretty much too far gone; he’s an abuser and his mind is set there. Azula, I think still has the capacity to break the chain. She’s not a lost cause. I also feel like she can be reasoned with more than Ozai. Ozai is all about power; Azula is motivated more by desperation (be it for her father’s love, to keep the last bit of control she has, and to keep her friends). It still leads to that harmful behavior, but I don’t think that she’s a lost cause like Ozai. Like, she has some abusive tendencies now, but I can also see her being able to break the chain under the right conditions.  If that makes sense.

Hades: What’s a big fear of yours?

Hmmm, I would have to say, being alone in the dark, but I have this intense feeling that someone is watching me, maybe even more than just one person. And I swear I can glowy eyes from the moon if I concentrate long enough. 

I actually have anxiety, and I have always been afraid that someone is watching me, I’ll always look around me when I’m in public, like a paranoid. And just thinking about all that creeps me out badly, so Imma stop there.

Achilles: Have you ever had to be hospitalized?

Not really? Depends on the term hospitalized. If it’s for more than a day, I would say no, but for a day I would say yes. I fractured my elbow as a child, but I don’t think I was there for more than a few hours. Then I had surgery on my eyes twice, didn’t stay longer than maybe 2 or 3 hours after I woke up from anesthesia.

So, yes, I’ve been to the hospital, but not for more than a day at a time.

Underworld: Describe your dream vacation.

I don’t really know that one? I’ve been to my dream vacation spot more than once XD Which is Hawaii. The islands of Maui and Kauai are amazing and the water is beautiful. So many different places to go there, I would go back in a heartbeat, but also try new ones!

But if it’s a vacation that doesn’t just have to involve beaches and stuff, I would say travel around Europe and maybe Asia with my best friend. Backpacking around in small motels, airBnBs and stuff. That would be awesome, just us and all the sightseeing in Europe and maybe Asia. I went to Germany on my own before covid and I loved it, makes me want to just go around Europe to see more. With my best friend, of course. (I don’t feel the need to tag her in this, she knows that I’m talking about her XD)

So yeah, that is my dream vacation that might actually be an adventure thing, but yeah. It shall remain a dream because I don’t know if I have the guts to do it. I’ll continue to go to my dream beach vacation spot XD

Oh, that ask thingy I was so happy I got tagged in and never got to fill in!

You thought. Well guess what! Today imma gonna fill in the ask questions I got from @advena87 (thank you again for challenging me!) But since I’m a book reader - and I also think my follows and followers should be more encouraged to post book stuff - I’m gonna try and fill in as book content-y as I can. Here we go!  Skellige Isles or the continent?

I love the continent, especially Lyria, Rivia & Dol Blathana, but this is definitely gonna be Skellige for me. I love how raw and unbiased people are over there. They also provide equal rights to women. Which I think is far more developed than one would think when it comes to the Skellige Isles.  

Velen or Toussaint?

This is going to be Toussaint for me. Not because of the visionairy (which is, btw, flawless in TW3-B&W) but because in the books we spend a good chunk of the story there, and we really get to know how society and the monarch works. 

Novigrad or Beauclair?

I would definitely say “the centre of the world” Novigrad. The “free city” Novigrad. It’s so lively there, everyone finds the business they need. But I also like the dark side of it. The beggars, the sewers, the crying Eternal Fire zealots. 

Sleeping at Corvo Bianco or meditating under a tree?

This is gonna be meditating & sleeping under a tree, simply because there’s no “Corvo Bianco” in the books. I really loved that ending, for me though Geralt stayed on the path. 

Inns or Brothels?

Inns have such nicer ahmosphere. I love the candlelit chandeliers, the cheap beer, the people giving you various looks. Music! Geralt always has a nice meal whenever he goes to an inn.  I wish that for him. 

Caves or Ruins?

There’s not much caves in the books, ruins however, plenty. Ruins. 

High or low difficulty?

I guess noone prepared me for the emotional trauma that was the battle at Stygga, so high?

Sadly I can’t apply any filters to books, but the good thing is I don’t have to! I have imagination to help me.

I did actually use a map of the continent while I was reading. I marked the route each of the main characters took. 

Roach or Fast travel?

Roach, because she’s the best friend to Geralt when there’s no Jaskier/Dandelion(/Kökörcsin) around.

Roads or Boats?

There was always something bad going on when Geralt got on a boat, so... Roads. 

Specters or Relicts?

Ooh, I love an old type leshen. And godlings. And dopplers. And czorts. Definitely a relict girl here! o/

Beasts or Hybrids?

I would say hybrids. Especially sirens and succubi. 

Necrophages or Vampires?

Vampires all the way! You didn’t think I would forget about our best boy Regis, ya? (B&W vampires are awesome too, Orianna is an all-time favourite of mine)

Orgroids or Elementa?

Since there’s not much ogroid in the books, I would definitely go with the elementa, because of djinns & genies.  

Draconids or Cursed Ones?

Draconids! At least we get quite a few in the books! The cursed ones Geralt meet in the saga he doesn’t kill, rather turn them back to normal. 

The Caretaker or the Crones?

I loved the Crones! Chilling & ruthless, but very well written characters. And their boss theme is absolute bop. 

Botchlings or spotted Wights?

Spotted wights, I guess. 

Godlings or Trolls?

Godlings are kind of adorable. 

Sirens or Harpies?

Sirens, please and thank you. 

Killing or sparing?

Depends on the situation. With Vilgefortz? Kill any day. Renfri? Protect at all costs. 

Dijkstra or Roche?

As much as I love Vernon Roche, I must aknowledge the fact he’s not a book character so Dijkstra all the way. 

Vesemir or Crach an Craite?

I really loved Crach even in the books, from a young chap (at Pavetta’s 15th birthday) to someone who even woo’d Yen xD I think the Witcher 3 gave him a worthy-mighty route to embrace. Shame he had to go so early. 

Eskel or Lambert?

I was always more fond of Eskel’s quiet and composed manner. He’s like a true brother to Geralt. 

Keira or Philippa?

Philippa all the way. I just really love characters involved in intrigues by choice, and when it comes to the Lady Owl, she’s like the absolute queen. 

Cerys or Hjalmar?

Ok so, this is difficult, because Cerys was not in the books, unlike Hjalmar. But I really liked what they did with them in TW3 and how they did it, and I don’t even feel like they’ve overwritten the canon or anything. I always felt like Cerys’ calm composed manner and playing on the safe side attitude would ensure Skellige would survive. Even if they’re not going down in history as great invaders or warriors.  

Syanna or Anarietta?

Since Syanna was not in the books, but even if she was, I wouldn’t like her, I have to go with Annarietta who’s been the brattiest, sassiest and most spoiled young princess in the books. But that didn’t stop me from liking her.  Yen or Triss?

Yennefer is the queen of this story. I get where the game Triss likers are coming from, but since I’m here to spread book awesomeness, where she’s been the absolute worst (and not even a proper love interest to Geralt [even Fringilla was a longer relationship to him!]) this wasn’t a hard choice at all. Yennefer is the best for Geralt.  

Ciri or Geralt?

I’ve always been genuinely more immersed in Geralt’s side of the story, talking strictly about books, than Ciri’s.  

Regis or Dettlaff?

Regis. Never gonna com a time when I don’t pick Regis. 

Olgierd von Everec or Gaunter O’Dimm?

Olgierd, I guess. I can definitely see someone like him in the books. 

Olgierd von Everec or Iris von Everec?

Iris deserved better.

Shani or Dandelion?

Ok so, there’s no witcher without Dandelion/Jaskier/Kökörcsin, and I absolutely love this bloody Casanova, but, strictly speaking in book context, Shani doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. She’s really complex and been through a lot. Our bard has too, true, but he’s more like the comic relief of the saga. 

Johnny or Sarah?

Sorceresses or Witchers?

Sorceresses. I guess. Life is much more easier if you’re a sorceress. 

Druids or the local holy man?

Druids all the way! Especially those of Skellige! My king Mousesack . I love him.

Swallow. Not gonna use it though, but this one’s closer to the book canon. 

Decoctions or Potions?

Potions is on the canon side. 

Hunting for diagrams or finding them per chance?

Finding them by chance, I guess. Book Geralt has no time to hunt diagrams amidst all this canon shitstorm xD

Imma sayyyy,, no I can't chooose I'm too weak. I loved Atlantis, Brother Bear, Meet the Robinsons, Enchanted and Aladdin so much but now, I'd say I'm probably partial to Tangled.

Why would you torture a poor libra this way- but going based of the books I read this year, I'd say The Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni truly sparked joy.

I would probably be a pokemon. Simple. Loyal. Has no deep understanding of how the pokemon universe works like at all.
