Any tips for cooking for someone immunocompromised? I know to wash and cook everything thoroughly, but I don’t know how cooked non-raw meat things need to be.

all right. despite my best efforts to get better on my own, i do now have to take prednisone. this is fine and will be good for me. i'm announcing it here because of my usual caveat: i'm gonna avoid tumbling much, but if i Do end up making word salad or clearly-psychotic posts: be patient with me and do not worry. my partners have me handled.

Where's the best place to get reusable face masks with vents/filters? I've been using disposables for a while, but I'd like to try out reusables to see if I like them more. I'd prefer to purchase from small businesses if possible, so if anyone has suggestions that would be fantastic!

being put on an immuno-suppressant biologic for my HS and will need minor surgery later this year for it 🫡 i'm just glad there's something finally being done in a more permanent way cause all of the solutions so far have been temporary. it'll be nice if i don't have to deal with this constantly at least to this severity cause i've had this condition for over a decade now and it's quite literally a pain

I got pneumonia 😢 So I haven't had the energy/time for any art lately, therefore this years b-day piece is just gonna be a amelliana sketch (Cause I thought about them earlier and listened to their playlist)

So I’m on a treatment that’s whole point is to knock my immune system down a few pegs, it’s literally chemo plus a biologic… but it has whump-y implications because… the slightest paper cut or split in the finger will always get infected… every single time.

It also slows down healing so while you’re waiting 2 weeks for that tiny paper cut to heal, surprise surprise, infection. Something stays open long enough, of course infection will take over. Infection is everywhere all the time.

I can imagine a tough whumpee who is used to soldiering on being just completely astonished and irritated at healing times let alone how inevitable infection is.
