I don't need you to worry for me 'cause I'm alright
I don't want you to tell me it's time to come home

idk if this is something im maybe hallucinating or maybe its just the posts that i see occasionally but ifl sometimes its hard for the fandom to let yjh exist outside of kdj?? like i know the whole kdj being the reason for the story and yjh as an extension to exist is a thing but yjh separating himself from the narrative and establishing himself as not just the protagonist but a person is Also a thing and i feel like we don't talk about it as much.
like i dont know man!! maybe this is all in my head but sooo much of the yjh content also doubles as joongdok?? and you KNOW i love good joongdok but where are the character studies. where are the deep dives. where is the acknowledging yjh as an intricately convoluted and complex characters with his own wishes and desires and the way those desires fuel the narrative like goddddd hes SUCH a Character i think we need to discuss it more. anyways hes my fave btw no one gets him like i do
NO YOURE SO RIGHT THAT IS EXACTLY WHATS HAPPENING
Like yjh becoming a Person is his whole growth??? I haven't been consuming nearly as much orv content, and I'm pretty sure it's for this very reason cause I want more character studies so bad!! Or dynamics with other members of kimcom!!
You ever think about him and mia, mia who is suddenly so distant from her brother, you ever think about him and jihye, how she wants to be strong like him
Or sp!!! Who carries so much grief, and it saddens me that his "why is it not me, but you?" line got reduced to "oh he's jealous he doesn't have a kdj" when it's "he doesn't have ANY companions he doesn't have a SISTER A DISCIPLE A TEACHER"

sometimes i just see people say things and i want to full force slap them in the face (this would not hurt much at all as i am very waifish) and then when they're reeling from the surprise of this i will take advantage of that moment of stillness in their brains and gently rest my hands on their shoulders and say, not without kindness: you have to understand that not everything you think is bad is bad in the same way or the same amount, there are degrees of bad that stuff can be. and of course this will make no impact because we're on the website that cut its teeth on moral debates by putting kin drama back-to-back with sexually predatory behavior on callout posts. but maybe just maybe. a kernel of it will sink in and we can live in a world where nothing where the worst consequences are someone getting their feelings hurt online is made out to be life and death. i have to believe in that shining future.

imagine dads sephiroth tucking in his and genesis’ kid(s) and when they ask for a bedtime story, they sit on either side of their kids bed as genesis recites loveless (like the actual story, not just the poem) to them, which has ended up being their kids favorite bedtime story, and they smile as their kid(s) fall right asleep, before they both give the child(ren) a little kiss on the forehead and quietly make their way out of the room. and when the kid(s) ever had a nightmare when they were younger and sephiroth and genesis would let the kid(s) sleep in their bed, and read to get them to fall asleep again, sometimes genesis reading loveless would also make sephiroth fall asleep too, and in those cases genesis would reach over and tuck in sephiroth the way they tuck in their kid(s) (forehead kiss included)

Heyyyy, I stumbled upon your blog just a few hours ago and I'm already hooked, but I am wondering about something.
So, if your Link is transmasc... uhhhh how did his top surgery go down? I don't think "ye olde medieval fantasy land" Hyrule has anyone (alive by the setting's present day) with the tools or skill to do it the modern way, and I also don't imagine magic methods would leave scars.
Sorry if I'm overthinking this, I'm just genuinely curious if there's an answer.
honestly, there's any number of answers to this. i tend to go with whatever's funniest to me (i've seen lots of "shake r stick to remove tits" jokes in the tags of that rauru drawing, which make me laugh) but i take it you're looking for a serious answer here, so i'll take off my jester cap for a moment.
i see this question a lot: "how would he have top surgery in an old time-y setting? they didn't have surgeries like that back then", and i feel like this kind of disregards the fact that this is a fantasy setting. sure, surgeries like that didn't exist in our ye olden times, but we also didn't have giant murder robots stomping around on tentacle arms, or fairies that can make a crop top deflect a sword, or so on. maybe he got purah or robbie to do it with sheikah tech! maybe, due to the fact that there are huge monsters stomping around everywhere attacking people, hyrulian medical technology is far more advanced than we realize, and they have even cosmetic surgeries (done somewhat differently, obviously, but still). maybe he got a great fairy to do it with magic, and just asked them to leave scars because it looked cool and/or he wanted to be openly transmasc. maybe, as some comics have joked, he just did it himself with the master sword, because he's built like that.
okay, i'm getting into joke territory again, but i'm sure you see my point. zelda, and most fantasy, plays by its own rules-- why do we have to return to the 'standard' rules of realism to place trans people in it? why not have fun and get creative with it, you know?
TL;DR: i don't really have a set headcanon 'this is how link got top surgery' in mind when i draw him, but there's basically infinite ways it could have happened by nature of fictional fantasy.
