Excuse me. I hope you didn't mind me asking, but why did Ortho info compilation jump from 1 to 4? Where's 2 & 3? Thank you.
Thank you so much for asking!! I had worried this would cause confusion: the pattern for this blog used to be that character information posts were shuffled, with Deuce’s part 7 posting alongside Malleus’ part 11 and Trey’s part 3, depending on the order in which I finished writing them.
As a result, Ortho’s parts 2 and 3 were posted back in June
This was just in time for me to change the posting schedule in July (with the start of Leona’s series), from a shuffled schedule to order-of-birthdays, instead.
I reposted Ortho’s Part 1 since it got updated with new information, but I wasn’t sure what to do about 2 and 3 and simply left them as they were, which was (understandably) confusing.
Will have to come up with a solution!
Especially for poor Malleus, who is still on part 13 of 17, but I wasn’t planning to revisit him until EN is deep into Book 7, at which point the information might be out of date.
Azul is on part 10, Vil stopped on 8, Ruggie on 9, Silver on 7, etc.
Would it be more confusing to have 12 Malleus posts from a year ago suddenly reblogged, or to have Malleus part 13 suddenly appear with no lead up?
Any ideas or opinions would be much appreciated!! It would be awful to leave Silver, Ruggie and everyone forever unfinished, but I wouldn’t want to spam a bunch of reblogs of myself, either.
Thank you again!

seeing the influx of gfm campaigns on your dash may be overwhelming- the purpose of this post is to help others navigate through the many gfm links that are circulating here on this site- esp. those that find their way directly to you via your inbox. this advice is specific to tumblr- i cannot speak on other platforms (instagram, twitter, etc.) though some things i say may be applicable
disclaimer: i do not vet/verify any campaigns myself. i simply want people who are willing to engage with these types of posts to do so in a safe manner
read more below:
---
what to do if you get a message from an account claiming to be 🇵🇸 in your inbox:
Tumblr media
-> step 1: do not immediately dismiss it as spam
to quote one of nabulsi's posts:
"... you cannot generalise with Gazans if their tumblr blog is only a few days or a few hours old.
Gazans on tumblr are making accounts for the express purpose of spreading their fundraisers because it is spreading amongst Gazans that tumblr is a safe place to do so.
They could often be making multiple blogs and even remaking after staff flags them as spam. But don't blanket assume that Gazans are scammers if they're on a new tumblr blog with no pfp or content.
I agree that until a fundraiser is vetted you shouldn't reblog it in case it is someone dishonest taking advantage of the circumstances in Gaza. But you cannot do the opposite and immediately assume they're a scammer. I'm seeing people harass Gazans sometimes who genuinely are people who just don't know how to use tumblr and are falsely raising red flags because of it." (read full post here)
to sum it up: don't hit 'report' right away- marinate a lil and put on a detective hat
-> step 2: background check
the following are accounts that are known to vet/verify gfm campaigns here on tumblr. note- this is not a comprehensive list:
el-shab-hussein
nabulsi
90-ghost* (edit 8/4: recently announced that ahmed will no longer be vetting/verifying new campaigns)
ibtisams* (only has done it on situational basis; is not currently vetting new campaigns- read post here)
rubashabansblog (has been promoting other palestinians who lost their tumblr accounts; currently living under occupation)
heba-20 (unsure if heba takes request to vet others personally but is a reliable source for finding legitimate campaigns)
northgazaupdates
fairuzfan (says they are less active on tumblr these days/not currently vetting new campaigns but is a reliable source)
i recommend giving these individuals a follow if you haven't already as they provide far more information regarding all things 🇵🇸. they've all put in a lot of work to make the process i'm sharing with y'all as simple as possible. also please be respectful if you try reaching out to any of them. they are likely getting a high volume of asks and may not be able to respond to you quickly
important note: it has been recently announced that nabulsi + el-shab-hussein have stopped vetting new accounts for the time being and are only focusing on campaigns that have already been vetted. read their full statement here and here
to start- check out the person's account. this can be a hit or miss depending on how new the account is. however- you may notice that the person in question has stated that they have been vetted:
Tumblr media
good signs so far- but better to be safe than sorry. next thing to do is search the username of the person who messaged you on tumblr. it's likely if you got a message like the one pictured above, others may have received one as well and did the digging for you:
Tumblr media
if you can't find a clear answer with tumblr's illustrious search bar/want to confirm someone's claim that the campaign in question was already verified, the next thing to do is check one of the following:
el-shab-hussein's pinned post
el-shab-hussein/nabulsi's google sheet
imo, this process is far easier to do while on a laptop/desktop vs. mobile app. ctrl+f is your friend in this scenario as is the ability to click through multiple tabs. for el-shab-hussein's pinned post, i click through the multiple lists and see if any names match. in ruba's case, she was found under List of fundraisers for my direct contacts from Ghazzah & Sudan:
Tumblr media
and for the google sheet- her campaign is no. 90 on the list:
Tumblr media
tip: to narrow down your search even further- ctrl+f the title of the person's gfm campaign that they've linked on their tumblr account:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> step 3: share your findings + follow that account
if everything checks out- ✨share le campaign✨ provide the link to it in your response to the ask + where it was verified. make it easier for the next person who gets a message to figure out that the gfm is real
following 🍉accounts is esp. important since the forces that be are keen on suppressing them at every turn. the more eyes on these accounts- the easier it'll be to determine the legitimacy of any new accounts they may need to make
---
okay, but... scams 😬:
-> step 1: seek a master
people can be assholes- and anyone trying to make a profit off of an ongoing genocide can eat glass
anyways- the following are accounts that are known to identify scam posts on tumblr (again, not a comprehensive list. these are just the one's ive seen/most familiar with):
mangocheesecakes
kyra45
kyra45's pinned post contains a plethora of resources to help determine if a post/message is a scam- and not just in regards to 🇵🇸- key goes in on many types of scams. please refer to their guides (and be sure that you are reading the most recent version of key's posts)
-> step 2: if you see sumn, say sumn
we're human and sometimes things slip our radar. so if you ever see someone on here sharing a known scam, do 'em a solid and let them know about it regardless if you are mutuals or not
---
final/misc. thoughts:
it's good practice to double check a campaign's verification with these tools for yourself regardless of how legitimate it looks. note that checking for a gfm's verification is not the same as verifying them. that work should be left to qualified individuals with experience in doing so. this is why it's bad to attempt things you are not qualified to tackle also- i think it's important to remember that transferring 💵 from a gfm campaign to those in need requires a lot of pieces to be perfectly set in place. if you see 🇵🇸 blogs linking alt. methods of raising funds (ex. p*ypal/k*fi) the reason could be that their gfms were frozen/suspended for a myriad of reasons. as always- check credible sources if you are unsure about a campaign you may come across notice how the spreadsheet provided here has over 100+ campaigns listed. generating a list that extensive requires hard work that is undoubtedly both physically and mentally straining to the individuals who are involved in making it. i've seen some accounts myself that have had to announce that they can no longer continue to vet campaigns because it has taken that much of a toll on their wellbeing. do not let their efforts go wasted
other resources:
some other places/grassroot organizations where you can find vetted campaigns:
operation olive branch (oob)
gazafunds
operation poppy flower (now also linked in oob's sheet)
operation watermelon
project watermelon
strawberry seeds collective
ottawa4palestine
camps breakerz crew
gofund(water)me(lons)
flowersfromfalasteen

🌟 New
We’ve updated the text for the blog setting that said it would “hide your blog from search results”. Unfortunately, we’ve never been able to guarantee hiding content from search crawlers, unless they play nice with the standard prevention measures of robots.txt and noindex. With this in mind, we’ve changed the text of that setting to be more accurate, insofar as we discourage them, but cannot prevent search indexing. If you want to completely isolate your blog from the outside internet and require only logged in folks to see your blog, then that’s the separate “Hide [blog] from people without an account” setting, which does prevent search engines from indexing your blog.
When creating a poll on the web, you can now have 12 poll options instead of 10. Wow.
For folks using the Android app, if you get a push notification that a blog you’re subscribed to has a new post, that push will take you to the post itself, instead of the blog view.
For those of you seeing the new desktop website layout, we’ve eased up the spacing between columns a bit to hopefully make things feel less cramped. Thanks to everyone who sent in feedback about this! We’re still triaging more feedback as the experiment continues.
🛠 Fixed
While experimenting with new dashboard tab configuration options, we accidentally broke dashboard tabs that had been enabled via Tumblr Labs, like the Blog Subs tab. We’ve rolled back that change to fix those tabs.
We’ve fixed more problems with how we choose what content goes into blogs’ RSS feeds. This time we’ve fixed a few issues with how answer post content is shown as RSS items.
We’ve also fixed some layout issues with the new desktop website navigation, especially glitches caused when resizing the browser window.
Fixed a visual glitch in the new activity redesign experiment on web that was making unread activity items difficult to read in some color palettes.
Fixed a bug in Safari that was preventing mature content from being blurred properly.
When using Tumblr on a mobile phone browser, the hamburger menu icon will now have an indicator when you have an unread ask or submission in your Inbox.
🚧 Ongoing
Nothing to report here today.
🌱 Upcoming
We hear it’s crab day tomorrow on Tumblr. 🦀
We’re working on adding the ability to reply to posts as a sideblog! We’re just getting started, so it may be a little while before we run an experiment with it.
Experiencing an issue? File a Support Request and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
Want to share your feedback about something? Check out our Work in Progress blog and start a discussion with the community.

About deco my tree
If you, like me, used the decomytree-site to receive and send messages lately, you've probably also seen the post warning that the site might have nefarious intentions. This is likely correct. When I went to look at my messages today, it told me "Currently, only the app can open messages due to high usage." That is clearly complete bullshit. It's probably self-evident, but DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE APP. This is base level scam stuff: trick people into getting excited about a service, then lock it to only one platform where the user will have to give up some information in order to get what they want.
(Obviously, I can't say with 100% certainty that something sus is afoot, but my warning bells are ringing very loudly. I am leaning towards this being more of an attempt to lure money out of people than an information stealing attempt, but you can never know.)
I took a look at what the app requirements are:
Tumblr media
This ain't great for something that allegedly only is for leaving cute messages for other people. I'm looking specifically at the "Data isn't encrypted" part. If you've taken a look at your tree today, you've probably noticed that ads for an AI app have appeared here and there in the UI; this is by the same company behind deco my tree.
Now. If you still want to see your messages, there is the option of running the app in a virtual environment that isolates it from the rest of the device, and thus from the data on it. I think iOS and Android both might have native sandbox environments, but I'm not familiar with them. What I did was download an android emulator to my computer and installed the app there. It's completely separated from the rest of my OS and will cease to exist when I nuke the session after reading and saving all my messages.
The emulator I used is called Bluestacks. It has ads and will take up ca 5GB of space, but it's a reputable emulator, and I've used it before to play android games on my desktop. Once you're in there, you can navigate to your tree in the already existing Chrome browser on the desktop (or home screen, I suppose), and find the link to their help center, where they have a download link for the apk file without needing to go through the Play Store (which you'd have to log in to using a google account). Also a bit suspicious, but handy in this case. I've also included the links above for you to use. Once you've downloaded the .apk the app will open and you'll be able to log in and see your messages.
Side note - if you used a generic password that you use in several other places for this tree, I highly recommend changing it in all other places, especially if you usually combine it with the same email you used for decomytree.
Another fun thing I noticed is that the app refuses to load the earliest three messages on my tree, for whatever reason. But when I navigate back to the website (inside the emulator), it now opens the messages just fine since it can tell I have the app installed. 🙃 The app also continuously displays ads for the same AI app mentioned above, trying to trick you into clicking on them when you're swiping through your messages. It also does this fun thing:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah. Bypassable, but highly irritating, and guaranteed to catch at least some poor people that don't know what to click on to make it go away.
TL;DR: don't download the app directly to your phone, use a sandbox to isolate it to see your messages, and then ask it to delete your account (and hope that it works, because so far the so-called verification code has failed to appear in my inbox). And change your password if you've used the same one elsewhere on the internet.

Three years ago you told me how to offer to Eir to help my father in the hospital, I think about that whenever December nears.
I hope you're doing well, friend. I miss seeing you on my dash.
I'm good, it's just that Tumblr is being A Bitch recently. It's doing this weird thing where if I open it up on my phone or desktop I can't check my inbox or anything. If I try the screen just goes white and refuses to load.
The only exception is one work computer I only sometimes am stationed at.
I CAN post from my phone but I can't check my inbox and searching anythign on my blog is basically impossible. If I want to I have to go to search for my own blog on the mobile app and do it that way. TBH, if anyone has a solution for this I would be very grateful.

The Algorithm is AI Art
Last year, I used DALL-E to create a series of images for a digital tarot card deck I was making for my personal use. When I shared some of those images here on my blog, I got a massive amount of push back and even threats in my inbox. I'm still putting my thoughts together on that experience but it did make me realize that most people don't seem to realize they're supporting the AI art they hate so much - to the tune of millions and even billions of dollars per year depending on the platform - almost everyday through the algorithms they use.
So if you genuinely hate AI art, I'm here to tell you that you've got to do what you can to get rid of and not use the algorithms in your life. That kind of support is more materially complicit with AI's intrusion on art than someone making a few images for themself ever could be.
Yes It's Possible
For many platforms, especially when they're accessed on desktop, it is possible to greatly reduce your contact with the algorithm. I use browser extensions to cut out the AI curated feeds on YouTube, Facebook, and Reddit. I mostly use Instagram on desktop to answer messages.
I generally do not use Instagram, Facebook, and other apps that do not allow users to control their feed on mobile. I know Instagram is mobile only - when I use it on mobile, I download it, upload what I want, then delete the app again.
I am considering cutting these out entirely again once this phase of my experiment for a zine I'm writing is over because honestly, they're not worth it, but that's a different post...
I also really recommend either making a separate email account or getting ruthlessly organized in your current one, so that you can sign up for artist's newsletters and other forms of human centered curation. RSS readers like Feedly can also be a good alternative.
The point here isn't perfection - the point is doing what you can. Not because it will change companies - but because it's better for you and the artists you care about.
Why?
Algorithms in these spaces determine who's work gets shown and more importantly - who gets paid enough to continue making their art.
AI has consistently been shown to reproduce and even exaggerate biases already present in society. This video by Ann Reardon of How to Cook That talks about YouTube's lack of transparency about the potential for a sexist bias in YouTube's algorithm and shows that in the top views at least, there's a clear slant toward male creators. The only woman in the top 10 does not show her face in her videos - unlike most of the men in the top 10. This discrepancy is even larger the further down the list you go.
Who gets shown is who gets paid enough to keep making their content/art. Less pay means people can afford to put out less content/art and can't scale - meaning less diversity in content/art.
What art gets shown influences what inspires new art and content to be made. You are seeing art directly shaped by AI everyday - and more than that - by continuing to click on what it serves up to you, you support it.
This AI influence on real world art has become so normalized that people consider it as natural a force of nature as wind. It's not. This was designed - and it can be redesigned.
I want to be careful not to overstate the influence of a click either - your clicking on something you choose is not a form of activism. Your clicks cannot retrain the algorithm at scale. A lot of people have the misconception that you can train "your" algorithm but what the algorithm on your feeds is doing is actually comparing your clicks to it's database of similar user profiles and their behaviors to decide what to suggest to you. Your clicks don't retrain the AI as a whole, they just match you with a different user type.
The real reason I think those concerned about AI in art need to find ways to take control of their feeds is because it ensures you're able to support a diverse array of creators through your views and it ensures that what you're taking your inspiration from isn't what the AI decides is worthy of attention.
I realize there are those who are reading this who either might not have been old enough to remember or even weren't born when YouTube basically took your Subscriptions off the front page. It used to be they would pop up at the top of the front page. Then it got knocked down on the front page. When it got shoved into it's own sidebar link and then that link progressively minimized through redesigns - there was actually an outcry about it.
People warned that this would lead to a watering down effect, where smaller channels didn't get the chance to grow like already established ones would. Creators of marginalized identities saw their views drop dramatically. Similar things happened when Facebook and Instagram fully took away a user's ability to have a chronological feed (this was possible in the early days). I know of more than a few creators who fully had to step away from their work because of the change over. I miss their art.
And then the outcry petered out. The companies didn't lose users over it so nothing changed. Eventually people got used to it and the protests went away. These companies now know they're "too big to fail" and can ignore user outcry until people acclimate the new normal that serves them. This normal serves them because it does actually increase engagement and keeps you on the platform for longer - which means less time spent on your own creative activities, yet another way they impact what art gets made.
TL;DR: if you hate AI's impact on artists and their employment opportunities, take control of your feeds. Make your own. Choose what you click. Take back your time and make more art.

It's Daylight Saving Time again in the US! (It's coming for the rest of you soon enough.) Yes, it's that time of year when we lose an hour and all get cranky and have more heart attacks and car accidents. I wonder if we could Tulpa DST away, somehow? Like, if we all just thought about it hard enough all at the same time.... Of course, arranging the "at the same time" part of that would be a nightmare because of, you know, DST and time zones and such.

listen there’s only so many times things can go wrong in the lab before you start being superstitious. for example, during my undergrad there was one guy who always had the worst luck. from faulty cables to always having the worst supervisors, after two years all of us (including him) would say he was cursed. then when he was my lab partner things went well…too well. we got cocky. we joked that this would be the time he broke the curse. the next week the lab was shut down due to covid and we never finished the project and had to do supplementary work for our grade. also when he was working on his thesis and was finally ready to use his samples (that took months to make), the building lost power and because his samples needed to be stored at -80C he had to re-do the whole thing.
I'm so sorry I just saw this in my inbox when I opened desktop tumblr and the timestamp says it was sent 4 days ago. I must've missed it on the app 😭
Oh gosh I agree 100%! I get so superstitious when it comes to scheduling/doing my experiments even though I'm not in my personal life. For me, it started with using the confocal microscope. literally one day it would be working fine and the next I can't image a single slide. So now when I can't get anything from the first slide, I just switch the microscope off and call it a day cause I just know it'll work the next day just fine. I might be superstitious but it worked so far.
My master's thesis supervisor used to say "if you pray, you better start doing it now" whenever we used a calcium measuring device at the lab lol (he was only half joking) because it literally had a mind of its own.
During my training to use the ultramicrotome, the first thing the technician told me was to stop the whole thing if the first specimen doesn't work and just come back the next day.
My experiences might not be as extreme as you anon, but I'm not changing this habit until I'm done with this degree lol.
(I hope you still see this, anon)

Sorry to clog up your inbox with a query like this, but I couldn't find anything that helped. How do people break up paragraphs in asks? The ask form doesn't show it actually breaking them up whenever I press the "Enter" key. Does the "Enter" keystroke still apply despite that, or is it a matter of inputting the linebreak HTML code?
That's odd. Do you use Mobile or Desktop? Because it's working fine for me on Mobile when I press enter, both on and off anon.
I don't see why you would need an html code, it might be just a bug or something. Does it still not show a paragraph break when you hit space instead? I haven't had this problem so I don't know how to help exactly, sorry 😔
Anyone have any ideas?

alexseanchai: wangxianficfinder dot Tumblr dot com slash ask, or Tumblr dot com slash new slash ask slash wangxianficfinder? bc the ask box in dashboard mode has blocks now, same as the ask box in mobile app, and pressing Enter moves to a new block. I bet the character limit the other asker was asking about is only a problem in desktop site not in dashboard mode, too. Tumblr hasn't been subtle about wanting to get rid of customizable dot-tumblr-dot-com versions of people's tumblrs.

Hello! It’s your Secret Santa again! 🎄
Okay, first, I have to congratulate you on finishing your Ph.D.!!! That is such an incredible achievement, and I hope you feel such a sense of pride (and relief too probably).
Second, thank you for all your excellent choices last time; I can’t wait for you to see them worked into your gift.
As a congratulations and a thank you, here’s a lil snippet! 👀
At the sound of her approaching footsteps, Nesta saw him turn his head, a satisfied smile already stretching across his face that, had he been anyone else, would have caused her heart to start racing.
As a man, Lieutenant Cassian Davies was magnetic. Handsome in a rugged sort of way, he was imposingly tall and broad with a body that, even injured as it was by a gunshot wound to the shoulder that nearly left him for dead, spoke of lethal grace and destructive power. His face bore the proof of this: small scars cut across his eyebrows and lips, and his nose had clearly been broken and reset at least once. His hazel eyes often shone with a mirth that drew soldiers and nurses alike to his bedside, but there was an edge to them as well—something surprisingly hard and deceptively calculating. Like all of the men convalescing at Somerville, Lieutenant Davies had seen tremendous bloodshed, but he alone seemed to rise above it, to possess some inherent mastery over it. He was dangerous and desirable in equal measure, and though Nesta refused to join in with the other nurses when they gushed about him in the privacy of their dormitory, she couldn’t deny his appeal.
As a patient though? He was everything she loathed: loud, flirtatious, stubborn, and shamelessly relentless in his attempts to irritate her.
I can’t wait to reveal myself to you! Until then, 💋 for now!
Oh my god, Santa, I can't believe I am only just seeing this 😭 The Tumblr app ate this message and it was only when I logged onto desktop that it showed up, meaning this wonderful message has been stuck in my inbox for days. I'm so sorry!
But anyway, I am so not okay over this!! I am squealing like a fangirl because this is so perfect 😭 I'm so, so excited to read it! "He was everything she loathed..." Lmfao, sure he is Nesta, sure he is....

I can definitely explain more/give you an ooc rundown, and don’t worry! Rp should be fun, not stressful. I’ve been having some issues with asks/submissions going through lately, so that’s the only reason I asked
__________
{i am the caretaker of souls} Oh, it is fun! I’m just one of those people whose creativity and ability to write drastically wanes when I’m under a lot of stress. Also work has been intense lately, so my free time to write is limited. I’ve got one more week of hell at work and then we get into some holidays and time off before the end-of-semester crunch in mid-December, so I hope to have more time to write in the next few weeks.
But yeah, if you want to give me a rundown, that would be really helpful, I’d appreciate that so much. Then I can tackle some of these Nat asks when I’ve got a bit more time to do so. I know that they were in a relationship and were seeing each other in secret, and then they were found out and had their memories of each other erased? That’s... literally all I know, haha. So not much. XD My Marvel comics knowledge is limited to Wanda, Vision, and a little Pietro, and even that knowledge is like 20 years old haha. *headdesk*
And ugh, Dumblr has really been screwing up everything lately. My notifications are almost nonexistent, or I’ll be notified sometimes days after something was posted, which is oh so helpful. Or it’ll tell me ten times that something was replied to, but for several other replies posted around the same time it won’t give me even one notification. I’ve been having a problem with my inboxes disappearing too? Where I can’t see or access them on the mobile app but they’re still there on the desktop version. Dumblr get your shit together please!

i'm telepathically sending good vibes whenever i see you on here btw
hope you are doing alright!
Hey!! I never go on desktop anymore and the app just hides your inbox stupidly?? Sorry if you sent this so long ago, I appreciate you Robbie, and always sending good vibes your way toooo. I just lurk so much now.
I don't usually do this, but I feel like sharing genuinely. I recently broke up with my first serious partner, we were only together for a little over a year, but were living together due to it being financially easier. So that's been tough, we both still want to be friends, but the separation process has been pretty straining on our friendship. It's going to end up okay, but I've definitely made some mistakes in this process, and just have a lot of growing to do emotionally and in my interpersonal relationships. Which, good to know lol.
I got accepted into an art residency that a local art museum/gallery started for the first time this year. Which is pretty big for my "career" (whatever that is, undecided) So I'm one of the first set of cohorts, I'm also three months behind on my work due to dealing with a lot of stressful personal stuff (like the breakup) as well as just my personality of avoiding shit that makes me stressed like really big projects with a lot of responsibility. I'm getting my footing back and making some progress with the work finally, but it's just been a lot and again, a learning experience. I have six months left to get my work together, and I believe I can do it. I have an unfinished artist website https://camillevizena.com/home.html I am uh, not the best at being a professional.
Have been contemplating my gender a lot more recently and have started using they/them. Haven't stopped using she/her yet, but more and more I feel like it's okay to just admit I don't really identify with my assigned binary gender. I still feel a little fake about it sometimes, and I'm trying to do some reading on it, but there aren't many nonbinary memoirs/writing that I feel really drawn to. So I'm just reading Judith Butler at work, very slowly lol. Been thinking about the possibility of taking T someday, but I have no health insurance and there's just a lot about it I don't understand yet.
That was a lot! I am generally all right, just having a big moment of change and hoping to become more of the person that I would be happy to be. I just feel like sharing, hope it's okay I used your ask for that, again I appreciate you sending it and I hope you are doing well! :')

Post-Apocalypse Post-Modern
"Huntsville, welcome to 2021- at least."
Below the cut is the details of iNARiOS 1.0 and it's functional applications until further updates, these are the only apps and functions of the communication system Cyan has set up in Huntsville. (5/6/23)
REQUIREMENTS: A wired home computer or laptop wired into the system Cyan has set up. Phones, tablets, and other mobile devices still do not work, as they cannot be connected to the wired network that makes up the entirety of the computers Cyan was given access to. Game consoles can also make use of this functionality to play 'local' games together but remotely. THERE IS NO WAY TO USE THIS FUNCTIONALITY ON THE GO, YOU ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A WIRED CONNECTION, PHONES AND TABLETS CAN BE SIDELOADED WITH THE INFORMATION, BUT ARE NOT ON THE NETWORK. Each computer must also load into the secondary OS, iNARIiOS, to access the network as a whole, though this is simple enough, as Cyan has left a desktop shortcut for this- a neon blue and purple fox clutching a scroll in it's mouth.
MESSAGING APPLICATION: YATAGARASU aka "CarrierCrow"
A Chatroom system with usernames, profile images, status messages, and 'group' options, CarrierCrow is the IM service of iNARiOS. stylized with the presence of a 3 legged crow and a sleek black and gold theming, it takes a lot of functionality similarities from discord, just heavily stunted, a basic text display in the center of the screen with messages tagged by usernames. This also contains the email system, allowing users to send messages in real time and into a holding inbox as well. There's cute little emoticons too- themed after the animal gods used in the applications.
DOCUMENT SHARING/CALENDAR WORKSPACES: KOMAINU aka "LionShare"
The workspace app themed after komainu statues, LionShare is where document writing and sharing, calendars, spreadsheets, and other file sharing is carried out, each user has their own specific key, and folders and documents can be set to be accessed by only specific keys, or the entire town, depending on the wants of those making the documents/calendars/sheets/etc. It carries over the usernames from within CarrierCrow, for ease of access, and Cyan has made a handful of public tutorial documents for the applications in iNARiOS, as well as an auto-updating spreadsheet including the screen names and contact information of the people around town, just in case you need to get in touch- but you'll still need their permission to send messages.
GAMES AND ENTERTAINMENT: KIRIN
KIRIN is a small-scale entertainment launcher containing games created by K1TSUN3 CO, a brightly colored, friendly logo of a scaled unicorn greeting users. It currently contains both games for PC, and ones that can be sideloaded onto compatible smart phones.
-Pocket Inari: A virtual pet akin to Tamagotchi featuring the animal characters of the OS itself in many colors, patterns, and pre-programmed personalities, it's simplistic, but with over 60 collectable characters and a charming, plinky set of chiptunes of modern songs, it's a solid distraction.
-K1TSUN3 KHA0S: A slash-em-up dungeon crawler featuring a fox-masked cyberpunk protagonist fighting their way through a neon lit, monster infested future, it features around 40 levels and a in-built progression system and a surprisingly capable story, for something a handful of criminals wrote to steal data, initially. It's known for being quite difficult- at least it's cross-progression between the PC and mobile versions.
-Turnibs: A cute farming sim game akin to stardew valley or story of seasons, once again you take the role of one of the handful of animal gods (a Fox, a Crow, A stone Lion, a moon-rabbit, or a dragon-like Unicorn) in a cutesy pixel style, running a small farm outside of a town populated by similar creatures. it's rather bare bones, but is cozy, peaceful, with lots of customization of the farm, farmhouse, and player character. It's multiplayer too- just have to enter the code on the main screen to become a turnip capitalist together!
-Megalophobia: a text based horror RPG, placing the player in the shoes of a survivor of a zombie apocalypse- Cyan considered not adding this one, but given it's 70+ hours of play time through multiple endings and builds, he included it anyway- The rangers at the stations tend to like it, though.
-Moon Bunny's Cafe: the only appearance of Moon Bunny as a large theme and not an emote/player character, Moon Bunny Cafe is a match-4 puzzle game like candy crush, with a cooking mama-like set of mini games as well. Collect your ingredients by solving puzzles, then help moon bunny run her cafe by slicing, baking, and decorating various cakes, sweets, and making teas and coffee.

In other news, I was able to somehow make a decent desktop site for the new Ask Kiriha blog, blazing-blueflare and I actually put MetalGreymon (2010) and ZekeGreymon cursors, using the Vital Bracelet sprites.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm still working on the info pages and the whole blog in general plus have to check my typos but, I promise to have it ready someday. The big step was saving the url and making it public anyway xDDD
Also, the Ask inbox is already open so, there is literally nothing stopping you from trying to send asks but yeah, might be better if you wait until the blog is structured ;3
I just hope that the initial "About this blog" for it will work for now (and for it to not have typos orz) which, you might want to read here <-
PS: it's 2023 and I still don't know if Tumblr pages works on the mobile app but exactly for this very reason, decided to not put effort in the pages by making their own theme/editing html shenanigans. Someone please tell me if I'm the only idiot who can't see "generic" pages of the blogs ;w;

Digital Minimalism: Tips to Organize Your Online Life for Better Focus
Tumblr media
We talk a lot about decluttering (organizing) our physical space, but what about our digital lives?
Why Does it Matter?
In our hyper-connected world, it’s easy to fall into the trap of digital overload. Research shows that constant multitasking and interruptions can reduce productivity and lead to burnout. By practicing digital minimalism, you’re giving yourself the gift of focus and mental clarity, allowing you to be more present and engaged in whatever you do......(Get what I mean?)
What is Digital Minimalism?
Basically, this is about getting rid of the tools, apps, and platforms that don't add value to your life, while intentionally choosing the ones that do. It’s not about ditching technology altogether but using it more mindfully.
Quick Tips to Simplify Your Digital Life
1. Unsubscribe Ruthlessly
Got an inbox full of newsletters you never read? Go on an unsubscribe spree. Limit the emails you receive to only what’s essential or inspiring. Tools like Unroll.me can help declutter your inbox in minutes.
2. Turn Off Non-Essential Notifications
Notifications are designed to grab your attention, but they often just disrupt your flow. Turn off alerts for apps that aren’t crucial. Trust me, you don’t need a ping every time someone likes your post.
3. Limit Social Media Time
Set-specific times to check social media rather than mindlessly scrolling throughout the day. Apps like Screen Time or Digital Wellbeing can help monitor and limit your usage. You’d be surprised at how much time you free up.
4. Organize Your Apps
Delete apps you don’t use. For the ones you do need, organize them into folders based on categories like work, fitness, or entertainment. Keep your home screen clean and uncluttered.
5. Declutter Your Files
Your computer’s desktop or phone’s photo gallery can quickly become a digital mess. Set aside time to delete old files and organize your documents into clear folders. You’ll thank yourself later when you can easily find what you need.
Take Control of Your Digital Life
Don't you want to live more intentionally? By reducing digital clutter, you can enhance your focus, reduce stress, and improve your overall well-being. Take small steps today, and before you know it, you’ll feel more in control of your online life.
By the way, your brain will thank you.
Signing out, kad
