More of my Death Cleric Sunshine, backstory edition! Recently my DM and I fleshed out a fair bit about the relationship he had with the necromancer who raised him (uh, not literally). 

Suffice it to say, Tarsus was NOT prepared to deal with a child. :’)

Eevee is probably one of the main members of the group I talked about the least comparatively, because her main deal is that whenever someone talks up about being abused by Glip, or back in the day Marl, Eevee is right there front and center with a snarky, ill-thought out, long-winded defense of them.

In other words, she's an accomplice.

So there isn't anything more that isn't already in my pinned post. So, I guess I'll make this my main post on why Eevee is likely an accomplice to sex crimes against both children and animals.

Compared to both Glip, Marl, and even other people in the group like Iz: Eevee has significantly less people who have been directly abused by her that we are aware of. Cordy Fox is the only person who has publicly decided to speak about being abused by Eevee, and even though she hasn't gone into much detail, I'm generally inclined to believe her. Especially because I know of at least one other individual who was abused by Eevee who has decided to not speak on it publicly.

That said, the chances that Eevee wasn't aware that Marl was at least sexually abusing the family dog are practically zero.

For starters, given Eevee's tendency of having a pro-pedophilia and pro-zoophilia sentiment, I question the idea that Marl would feel the need to hide his zoophilic and pedophilic tendencies from his then roommate.

Even if Marl did try to hide his habits from his roommate (Eevee) and his then-spouse (Glip) - Eevee herself has pointed out that Marl wouldn't have been able to film child porn / zoo porn without her and Glip knowing.

....And, yeah, she's right. Glip has always worked from home and so did Marl. I'm unsure if Eevee was at the time work from home, and despite what Glip is saying here in these very same tweets, they later admitted to being aware that Marl was filming porn of the family dog Apollo since Marl cheated on them with Exty.

Marl cheated on Glip with Exty in early 2013 or late 2012 by the way.

So that means Glip was aware that Marl was sexually abusing the dog when Lain first came forward in later 2013 about Marl sending her photos of dog dicks.

A lot of people have in one way or another spoken about how Marl brought up his love of dogs to them or was creepy with them after the log leak. We got Big Fluff and Lain obviously, but there's also Exty, Rootie, Pengo, an anon who spoke to Pengo, and Junglekawa.

The implication here being, Marl did this often to a lot of different people.

We know from Lain, specifically, that Marl felt comfortable enough predating on children by sending them photos of dog genitalia on Eevee's IRC network.

To those that don't know, Eevee, being the admin of the IRC network, had access to chat logs that happen within her IRC, including, likely, direct messages.

And Marl was comfortable enough to send a then 13 year old photos of dog genitalia on this network. Knowing his roommate, Eevee, would have access.

And frankly, why wouldn't he be comfortable with his friend who questions if child porn should be illegal having access to these logs of him sexually harassing a child with zoophilic images? When Lain came forward and talked about what Marl did to her, and even asked Eevee specifically to give her logs.

Eevee would turn around and only provide selected snippets of the logs while slandering the character of the 14 year old girl, claiming to not have anything else.

Even though Eevee could have easily proven Lain a liar easily by just sharing unedited DM's between Lain and Marl....She didn't. There are no DM's between the two shared by Eevee at all, actually!

I wonder why Eevee didn't share the DM's between Marl and Lain. Sure is a mystery why she didn't share the logs that would have proven Marl innocent immediately if she was right and Lain was lying. Weird she didn't do that! I guess platforming the words of the fourteen year old's other abusers is more important though.

Lain was one of the first people to come forward about Marl being a zoophile, and was the first to come forward about Marl being a pedophile. Chatlogs would later be leaked of Marl doing the same thing to a different child (that thankfully: Occurred on a platform besides Eevee's IRC.) would definitively prove Lain's claims from years ago to be true.

Even if Eevee somehow didn't have admin access to Marl and Lain's direct messages - they lived together. The fact Glip and Eevee both didn't go to Marl physically and say "Show me your direct messages with this 14 year old girl who says you're sexually harassing her with images of dog genitalia" WHEN GLIP WAS FULLY AWARE THAT MARL WAS FILMING ZOO PORN OF APOLLO JUST EARLIER THAT YEAR TELLS THE ENTIRE STORY.

So if Lain was telling the truth, why didn't Eevee or Glip have the logs? Was it incompetency? Or were they both only sharing select snippets of the logs to protect their then roommate/partner?

And remember, Marl did this to a lot of people. If he was comfortable enough to do this to Lain in a place where Eevee had log access, how many others did he do this too in Eevee's IRC? While knowing Eevee when push came shove, would protect him?

Additionally, I'm inclined to believe Marl abused Apollo in that house often. Zoophiles often make the dogs wear mittens on their front paws so they don't get scratched when the dog mounts someone. Front paw mittens don't really serve any other practical purpose.

Eevee uploaded a video of Twigs and Apollo playing with Apollo wearing these mittens, and based on how she responded, when confronted about this, Apollo probably wore these mittens all the time, meaning he was abused often.

And now consider this in 2006:

A lot of people glaze over these because of the date, but it's important to understand that Eevee's not just playing the role of an edgy devil's advocate here as she would later claim. She's knowledgeable on how animal sexual abuse works and is excited about it.

She is specifically aware that beastiality is legal in some places.

She is specifically aware that when it comes to sexually abusing a dog, it involves the dog being on top. Which is how Marl abused Apollo and why Apollo needed those front mittens specifically.

She specifically claims to know people who are attracted to certain animals more then people.

She specifically claims that zoophila is safe, that it rarely damages the genitals of humans or animals.

She specifically claims that horse vagina is tight enough to pleasure a human male.

She specifically claims that very few diseases can cross between species boundaries while engaging in Zoophilia.

She specifically claims that she enjoys 'doggysex', the same type of Zoophilia Marl trained the future family dog to engage in.

This isn't the words of an edgy devil's advocate. This is someone who knows what they're talking about. This is someone who would be able to recognize why the family dog wears mittens on the front paws.

I, personally, am not willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that she was ignorant of the true reason Marl had Apollo wear those front mittens.

“So….” Ali hummed as he scanned the menu. “….No baklava?”

The tired barista sighed. “….No, sir. I can get you a croissant, or a cinnamon roll, but we don’t have baklava.”

Noah rubbed his temples in irritation as he pulled out his laptop and began getting a jump start on his assignments.

“I can show you how to make it easily—” The human-disguised djinn offered.

“—Sir, that won’t be necessary.” The barista cut him off. “Would you like a mocha? Or maybe a caramel latte?”

“I don’t know what any of those things mean...” Ali admitted naively. “….but, what would you suggest?”

Noah tried to tune out his roommate’s antics as he sent off a few papers. Payday was only a week away, and his weekly discussions would be due around midterms. ‘Okay, let’s see…. ‘How Mesopotamian Architecture Sparked a Culture of Controversy…..’ He read this forum post. ‘Seems odd, but sure….’”

Then, Cauldwell’s phone vibrated. It was the Grad cohort group chat. ‘Ugh….’

Noah grimaced. Usually he ignores those texts, but the incessant vibrating left him curious. Opening up the DM, Noah read the text conversations.

Hi! For the WIP game, can you tell me more about The Uncomfortable Adventures of Sam in Law School? I love this series!

Sorry for the delayed response. It’s been a challenge to figure out how much I wanted to share because so much of what I could say are spoilers. I settled on a truncated teaser-style summary of the rest of the plot and a spoiler that isn’t just some absolutely random mundane thing.

I’m still working on this story on and off, as life and mood permits, but I feel so bad about leaving it unfinished that I promised myself I won’t publish any more of it until I’m ready to publish all of it. I don’t want to give false hope, then slam the brakes for years again. But if you want to hear more about the story I’m happy to DM and go into details, etc. I’m always happy to chat 🙂

Spoilers after the jump, including a snippet that nearly goes against my better judgment to post.

Just as Sam’s failing health drives him out of school he learns that Brady is a demon and Azazel’s plan for an Anathema battle royal. Because of Sam’s pathetic state, he’s given three weeks to get in better shape. After struggling with hopelessness and feelings of helplessness, Sam decides that with the limited time he has to take risks in order to make a difference: saving a group of Anathema, stopping the conflict between hunters and witches, and using himself as bait to take down Azazel.

And a little snippet:

Sam picked up his cell phone and texted Brady, “Meet me at Ocean Beach, west of Lawton St in 10 minutes.”

The moon was obscured by the night fog, giving the air itself an eerie pale glow. He sat on the sand with a heavy jacket wrapped around him, listening to the ocean waves. Icy wind flowed across his face, but he tried to appreciate feeling anything at all when the future was so uncertain. The quiet calm was soothing in a way that made him regret that he’d shortly tarnish it.

“I’m here.”

He looked up to see Brady standing a few feet to his left. There were no footprints in the sand leading up to him. The Abyssal had teleported directly there. It seemed there were no more false pretenses between them. That was something he’d have to get used to.

“My symptoms are getting worse,” Sam commented.

Brady sighed. “I’m still asking around—”

“I’m not ready to die. Not while they’re winning.” He stared up at Brady. “I’ve got too many people counting on me.”

Sam pulled a knife from his jacket pocket. He turned it around in his hand, offering the handle to Brady, who just stared at the weapon.

Brady furrowed a bit. “I don’t understand.”

“Your dad’s blood was enough to get me past twenty years. Let’s see if yours is enough to get me to the end of this one.”

7. What does a WIP look like to you? (do you take notes? is anything color-coded? do you have a preferred font?)

a wip to me is usually an idea scribbled into a Google doc when I'm feeling inspired! most of the time, they come from DM's between me and my mutuals, but sometimes I just get random thoughts from a particular picture. once I've got the base idea, I'll do plot bullet points of every aspect I wanna include, eg.,

meet at coffee shop.

have a conversation about kinks.

and as I go through and write the fic, I'll highlight the bullet point once I've covered it! I'll do research if I don't know enough about an aspect of the fic (eg. children's milestones for teacher au), but otherwise, I just make shit up, lol . no colour coding or font preferences, I really do just wing it 99% of the time.

13. What's something someone said about your writing that stuck with you?

simultaneously, so many things and nothing?? like I remember how words made me feel, but not the specific phrasing (I do have memory issues, so I will use that as an excuse...)

But I remember the very first ask I got from bff anon made me cry because no one had been that nice about my writing before. It was crazy. now I am blessed and have SO MANY absolute sweethearts who chat to me regularly, but that ask was the first time I remember feeling so honoured that someone liked something i wrote <3

17. Do you have a least favourite work of yours?

oh god. all of them. I haven't gone back to read my "I hate matty healy" series as I fear I would crumble and die of cringe. recently, I absolutely hated how porn star au chapter 2 came out, but I fear that was just me having read it too many times. I haven't gone back to it yet with fresh eyes, but maybe I will? anyway, I struggle to feel good about any of my work, so all of them are my favs and least favs at the same time <3

Rock Bottom AU

A series I started in 2016, abandoned for six years because writers block, and have returned to. I'm working on rewriting the earliest bits to make them better and less cringe. I use this tag for the chapter updates, commissioned art, or just things that really remind me of the AU.

In short, it's an AU where I fixed Ryou's family, gave Seto the Millennium Rod (w/ Priest Seth in it), and made everything else ten times worse. If you like angst, whump, and dark themes, you might enjoy it. I'm going through all six Yugioh anime seasons, currently on Season Three. Please ask me about it, it's my magnum opus. 🙏 But it's over 200k words currently and not everyone's taste, and that's fine. Power of Three (fic)

My Mumbleshipping longfic (also started in 2016, same deal as Rock Bottom). Dedicated to one of my favorite rare pairs (Seto Kaiba x Duke Devlin x Ryou Bakura), it's a little bit of a sandbox and a slow-burn and a soap opera all in one, but unlike Rock Bottom, things only get slightly worse before they get better. 😜 Features a very angsty Kaiba (apparently I don't know how to write any other kind), a Duke that's got his shit together, and a Ryou that's learning to heal and just be happy. ❤️

Hi y'all! Blowing the dust off this blog in time for @onlycodcanjudgeme's WIP Wednesday to talk about one of the projects I'm working on, Call of Honor! I've talked about it before, and have shared snippets of it in the past (there's even a version of it up on AO3 right now), but since this blog has been getting new followers over the course of my unofficial hiatus, I've decided it's high time I get off my ass and actually explain what Call of Honor is. So—

WTF is Call of Honor?

Call of Honor (COH) is a COD: Modern Warfare/Dishonored crossover AU, wherein a metaphysical anomaly pulls Soap, Yuri, Makarov, and a few others (🙂) from the Call of Duty timeline into the Dishonored universe after their deaths. It'll be a three-pronged multipart series that follows the three named characters over a span of 15 years, from the height of the 1837 Plague Crisis to the resolution of the coup of 1852, as they leave their individual marks on the Empire of the Isles...for better and for worse. I'm writing Soap and Makarov's arcs, while my partner @solnishkawrites will write Yuri's arc!

A lot of fun stuff is wrapped up in this project! The series will be written primarily from the perspective of the COD timeline characters—and because I'm a giant Dishonored nerd, Call of Honor goes heavy on the worldbuilding, drawing from 19th century literature and supplementing canon with thorough historical research and a hefty dash of headcanon. COH expands on the larger themes of imperialism, class struggle, and axes of oppression (including racism and xenophobia) touched upon by Dishonored, and touches on more that could honestly be discussed in posts of their own (grief and PTSD, the cyclic nature of oppression and more personal cycles of abuse, and more that I'm probably forgetting).

There's also a heavy focus on character development as the three main characters process their respective pasts, naturalize themselves in the Dishonored world, and make connections, be they friends, lovers, or enemies. Each prong of the story focuses on a specific cast of characters, but many different faces come and go, some new (OCs galore) and some familiar (canons, and...maybe Ghost and Roach will make an appearance, idk, I'm undecided :3).

This AU, while incredibly niche, is a labor of love that I've been working on for the better part of a decade, and though I'm not yet ready to start updating already-written chapters and uploading new ones, this post barely scratches the surface of everything that's going into COH behind the scenes. I plan on posting more about Call of Honor in the future, but my inbox and DMs are also open for anyone who's interested and has questions/wants to chat! (Also let me know in the replies if there's anything specific about Call of Honor y'all are interested in hearing about, I'm fishing for post ideas.)

Activity/Interactions

Blog is decently moderate activity, though I have more spoons some days than others.

I am very selective, but not mutuals only. I give (most) everyone a chance but will not pursue interactions if I feel our writing/characters don't mesh.

Due to a recent incident, I am not interested in interacting with OC-only content/blogs unless they belong to friends. This includes following them or having them follow me. If you have canons, throw them at me first so I can get to know you. I will not budge on this.

I am 100% duplicate-friendly, but assume other Vashes are not unless I am followed first.

Sometimes if it seems like I've dropped an ongoing thread, my brain has registered the last reply to it as a good place to stop. If you don't agree, feel free to poke me about the thread and I'll reply!

If I feel our muse's introduction thread hasn't hit a good stopping point, I won't plot a new one until it gets there.

If you want a new plotted thread when we have the three already going, we need to come to a consensus on which ongoing thread we can drop.

Obviously everyone has preferences and certain moods for certain topics, and I am not immune to that. I can very much psych myself up for something and forget about other things. Please (nicely) poke me if you feel I've done this and want me to focus our thread again.

STEP ONE:

You'll want to decide where to go. My recommendations: Of course you can always host your own site or use a blog and link people to it... but assuming you are leaving twitter you're probably looking for something a little more social.

To my experience... every site has pros and cons, ideal usecases.

Twitter, specifically, falls under the category of 'microblogging'. My recommendation is Mastodon but there are other places to go! Delete your phone number. There will inevitably be one or more data breaches. STEP THREE:

Put links to your new socials up. (this is now against TOS and they might ban you, eventually here). If you want to play it safe, store it in an image or something. (https://carrd.co/dashboard) Actively look for the socials for people you follow, who follow you, and add them on every platform you are on. You might need to send DMs to ask if they have other socials. You should not have to lose your contacts because of Musk's bad decision-making. If they are not worth looking up, they aren't worth your time.

And that's it. Just leave your twitter up for DMs in case someone needs to ask you where to find you.

🧸 A headcanon about their childhood [ Sevika and Silco ]

So a note right up front that my Silco had an angsty childhood, and I've written a few things here and there about it including him having a younger brother who is no longer alive. So let's try, for once, for something kind of happy.

Silco's father was almost constantly working, or too tired to do much of anything. However there were times in which he got a day off, and could be with his family. Rarely, but they happened. Those were the days Silco remembers fondly because he didn't have to worry about taking care of his younger brother, and running around being completely responsible (although he still had to be at least somewhat responsible). Instead he got to listen to stories his dad told, or hand his mom stuff in the kitchen cause although he was skinnier than his younger brother he was a bit taller and have a moment with her, or just sit down and breathe while one of his parents handled things. I may have mentioned this before, but I'm not 100% sure if I mentioned it on screen on my blog or just in DMs chatting with someone or what so... Sevika grew up an only child, and with her father (mother didn't survive child birth) however for a few years her grandmother was there. Her grandmother remembered stories, and some of the language of Noxus from her parents. Those stories, and snippets of the language were passed down to Sevika however these days she remembers very little of any of it. A part of her wants to learn more, but she never has the time.

Yes!! I have a slight addiction to masquerades, so I absolutely needed to include one in ATQH!! (It’s my secret life goal to attend a masquerade ball irl.  I have a mask, actually.  I juts need to be invited to one.)

It is in my plans that eventually Hermes and Fallon make up, but it might not get shown in the book.  They do care about each other, and Fallon never intended to end on bad terms with anyone, but Hermes betrayed her trust and lied to her (even if his lie didn’t hurt anyone), and she already has trust issues.  Also, like I mentioned in the snippet, Hermes only revealed his lie because he found out that the lie had more truth than he thought.  He found out that rather than being an orphan as he always thought, he actually had a family, or at least a mother.  And of course Fallon’s jealous of that, because more than anything she wishes she could have her mother back.

Yeppp.  Kristopher’s entire family sucks.  I just want to punch all of them.  (and so does Fallon...)  Especially Pierre (his father).  Because the main reason his brothers are so shitty is because their father took them under his wing and taught them how to be Class A Assholes.

And, yeah.  I also feel really bad for his sister.  But, like I said, she’s the only family member Kris invites to the wedding (or even tells about it), and she and Fallon get along like a house on fire, lmao.  Kris light-heartedly regrets it, because they get along so well, and it’s a little bit of an “oh fuck, now there’s two of them” situation, cause his sister is also very smart and headstrong like Fallon. 

She would totally help Fallon get ready for the wedding, since Fallon doesn’t have any family left, and they’d just chat and it would be really sweet.  She would totally wind up telling some embarrassing shit about Kris, lmao.  But more importantly, I can totally see her telling Fallon how happy she is to finally see Kris happy and not miserable, and it would just be so cute.  Ugh, I’m getting emotional about this.

A Follow Up Discussion

Good morning everyone! We had a few questions regarding the channels and their purposes after our announcement so we thought we would clarify some more and pin this comment. 

 #general-chat is for anything and everything your heart desires. This could be one direction and writing related but it doesn’t have to be. Keep in mind that if you are going to talk about something that could be deemed a sensitive topic use the spoiler action or start the conversation in the #sensitive-topic channel

Example: Talking about a fic you read that has abuse in it, use spoiler action. Talking about gun laws would be a topic for the #sensitive-topic channel

If you are planning on writing soon (this could mean Louis Tomlinson soon or actually soon) you can use the #general-chat or #real-time-writing.

Let’s say you are going to write five hours from now, feel free to give a heads up in the #general-chat. If you give a time, it should activate the friend time bot and people can see what time that would mean for them.

If you are writing in one minute or even five minutes, feel free to give a heads up in the #real-time-writing channel.

Censoring/Using the spoiler action: Sometimes we will use the spoiler action to block out an entire conversation. I know for me personally sometimes I do this as a way to let the person know I’m about to say something they don’t like so beware (I’m looking at myself when I’m about to tell Beca my opinion on food or a Marvel movie lol) But that isn’t helpful, is it? I would like us to try and be more cautious of how we are using the spoiler action and try to avoid using it as a way to block out an entire conversation. If you share a snippet and there are mentions that could be triggering before you share it please state: Mentions of ____ and include the triggering content. Think of what you would tag on ao3 or Tumblr and use discretion. This is also a helpful article that talks about triggers and a common list that you can reference if you are unsure. 

Thanks to Laur for the suggestion to organize our categories, Beca has done so! On the left, you will see Information, Writing & Such and Fandom & Random. Hopefully, the more organized categories can give you an idea of where to host your conversation. If you are unsure, ask!!! You can ask publicly or privately. 

Let’s talk threads! Discord allows two types of threads: public and private. 

Public threads are a great resource to use if a group of people are chatting in #real-time-writing as we are trying to limit the amount of side conversations happening in that channel. As these are public, remember to use the spoiler action when discussing sensitive topics. 

Due to the level our server is at, we are not able to use Private Threads. (To boost the level of the server, we must pay as it’s a Nitro feature, which is also paid. Beca boosted the channel once, but if she wants to boost it again to go to level 2, she has to pay again because it’s a paid feature in Nitro). Private threads could be used when discussing spoilers for a fic you are working on or spoilers for a tv show a few people are watching at once. We encourage you to reach out to people via DMs!

An example of creating a group DM: a few of us play Animal Crossing and since I knew that could clog the #general-chat and we can’t use private threads, I created a group chat to discuss all things Animal Crossing. (And a reminder, to create this private group chat, you have to add the person as a friend.) If you want to send the same message to different people at the same time it’s also impossible. You need to add the users as friends. (It’s a discord feature so there isn’t much we can help with it.)

Onto DMs, they are a great way to check in with each other about literally anything! Helping beta, asking how their fic is coming along, or being their accountability partner. You could also move the conversation to Tumblr, seeing as how we all have our URLs easily accessible if you don’t want to DM someone on discord. Private messaging isn’t necessary, it’s just an option.

It has also been brought to our attention that there have been a few conversations and comments that have made some people uncomfortable. We once spoke briefly about it in #general-chat in the hopes that people would read it and keep that in mind, but we feel an official statement is best. Beca and I let a few things slip through the cracks which is not okay and we apologize for not doing something about it the moment it happened. Going forward we are going to try to keep a more watchful eye on conversations happening on most of the channels- I say most because I cannot look at my policeman channel due to my own issues. That being said, if you see something, say something. Especially seeing as how there are time zone differences and we can’t catch things happening when we are sleeping. The best part of having Beca is that we are a team and we can discuss together who takes care of what issue that way we are both taking care of ourselves and all of you. We are asking for your help in keeping this safe because there is a chance we will miss something. If you don’t say anything we can’t help you or do anything to keep the server a safe space for everyone- which is one of our goals.

We love getting to know each other and talking about other music or movies or more personal matters like our health or tattoos. Discussions about those things are okay and encouraged. Discussions about the boys’ music and what concerts people get to attend is okay. Talking about their upcoming projects is okay.

What we will not be allowing anymore is discussions about Harry or Louis’ public relationships- really any of the boys but seeing as how Harry and Louis’ public relationships are more prominent that is what is talked about most. This topic is off-limits on all of the channels. Any type of misogyny, violence or more “heated” comments will result in a warning via DMs. If you proceed to make comments that go against this rule or our previous rules, you will be banned.

Please, keep in mind that we are not trying to prevent you from having conversations. It’s, in fact, the opposite. We are just trying to keep things organized so everyone can engage in conversations without feeling lost or uncomfortable.

As an aside, Beca and I are not fluent in discord and all that it entails- hence the hiccups. We are new to owning a server which is why we value your input and patience as we navigate this. We have been planning to do an audit for months and have been keeping track of things to discuss. This is something we’ll be doing periodically and we will always keep you updated, that is why it’s also very important you give us your opinions, suggestions, complaints or anything you feel it’s worth sharing. You guys are awesome and no one is in trouble! Thank you so much for everything so far!

what i would recommend for getting your chart is going to astrodienst/astro.com! that is a very epic website :) and for apps i would suggest time nomad or time passages (both are free). it’s preferred that you accurately know your birth info so you can get an accurate chart ‼️

Seeing you tag "Off the Record" sent me off to read it again and oh my, I love it so. Are you still working on it/plan to finish? And if not, do you think you'd ever share the outline of how you meant to end it (the suspense!!)? Love your writing, as always, it's just so good.

“I know what you're trying to do.” She grits out, jaw aching from the way she’s been clenching it for the last hour. From having to bite back her words at his every jab. From the tight smile she’s been wearing while struggling to remain professional.

“Oh, yeah? What’s that?” He asks, eyebrows raised as he cocks his head to the side, and Beth’s fingers twitch against her champagne flute.

“You’re trying to annoy me.” She accuses, barely able to keep the actual annoyance that’s been simmering beneath the surface in check.

He grins, something sharp and mean, perfect teeth on full display and Beth can’t stop the image that flashes through her mind of those same teeth sinking into the soft skin of her inner thigh. His grins widens when he notes how her eyes linger, the flush that creeps across her chest, and Beth clears her throat as she quickly averts her gaze.

She hears his quiet chuckle just before he inquires, “It working?”

“Yes!” She snaps before she can stop herself, eyes darting back over to glare at him.

His smile softens, gaze steady on her as he leans in close, and her breath catches in her throat. She feels his mouth brush, the barest touch, against her cheek. The low and raspy “Good.” that rolls out between his lips, coated in venom and honey, caresses her skin before he turns and walks away.
