STAR WARS PREQUELS - A TIMELINE
So, what's this about, huh? After recently sitting down with Star Wars Timelines, I was genuinely surprised at just how much they were willing to nail down to a specific year and sequence of events, which admittedly is a reference book and those are pretty low on the canon totem pole so be prepared for future retcons down the road, but it's shockingly useful information to have! Because the more I paged through it, the more I realized just how useful it would be for fic writers, especially for anything that might be referenced by a prequels character. Do you want to know how old the Jedi Order basically is? What the eras were called, if a prequels character wanted to reference them? What year did Dooku leave the Jedi? When did Naboo join the Republic? When was the Republic founded? When was the Jedi Temple built? When was Yaddle born? When did the Togruta ally with the Republic? Was Anakin born on Tatooine? When did Plo discover Ahsoka? When did Anakin get his first kyber crystal? When did Obi-Wan join the Jedi Council? WHEN DOES THE MANDALORIAN CIVIL WAR TAKE PLACE?? Some of this is SO INTERESTING to have nailed down into place--like just how old Huyang is or that the Jedi Temple was constructed on Coruscant BEFORE the Republic existed! Useful for me to know, but also my prequels-era characters to know! This book is willing to tell us A LOT and I collated everything I thought would be useful for a prequels character to know! ERAS:
c.5,000 BBY– 1,032 BBY: Ancient conflicts "The Jedi and Sith wage a series of wars throughout their history so ruinous that at points each is brought to the brink of destruction."
c.500 BBY–330 BBY: "The Age of Exploration" "After centuries of governing in regions near the galactic Core, the Republic sets out to explore the Outer Rim. This era of exploration on the frontier presents many adventures and opportunities for the Republic and the Jedi Order alike, but growth also leads them to uncover new mysteries and dangers. Soon the Jedi Order’s very connection to the Force is put to the test."
c.500 BBY–100 BBY: "The High Republic" The four hundred years that are collectively referred to as the High Republic era.
TIMELINE:
c.25,025 BBY: BIRTH OF THE JEDI
"The Jedi Order is founded. Among the earliest locations, and likely the first, is a temple constructed on the planet of Ahch-To. Later, the temple retains the most treasured Jedi texts and earliest writings on the Order’s faith. For eons, these noble protectors stand united by their ability to harness the power of the Force itself for good."
c.25,020 BBY: Professor Huyang powered up "The architect droid Professor Huyang begins training Jedi younglings in the delicate art of lightsaber construction."
c.20,000 BBY: Dawn of the Republic
"The foundation of the Republic is formed through an alliance including Coruscant, Corellia, and Alderaan, prompted by the dawn of hyperspace travel."
c.5,000 BBY: Creeping darkness

c.5,000 BBY–1,032 BBY: "The Sith battle the Jedi in numerous conflicts for thousands of years before their struggle comes to an end, resulting in the destruction of the Sith Empire."
c.5,000 BBY–1,032 BBY: "The Sith build shrines on planets, including Malachor and Moraband. They covet these locations for their connection to the dark side of the Force."
c.1,050 BBY: A Mandalorian Jedi
"Tarre Vizsla becomes the first of the Mandalorian warriors to be inducted as a member of the Jedi Order. The unique lightsaber he constructs comes to be known as the Darksaber, later stolen to be used as a symbol to unite his planet."
c.1,032 BBY: Coruscant Temple erected
"The main Jedi Temple on Coruscant is constructed at the same location where there was once a Sith shrine."
c.1,032 BBY: "Darth Bane, the last surviving Sith, recognizes that infighting and back-stabbing ultimately led to the downfall of the Sith Empire. He declares the Rule of Two, whereby there can only be a sole master and single apprentice of the Sith. The practice safeguards the inherently selfish Order from self-destruction, thus ensuring the survival of the Sith for centuries to come."
1,000 BBY: Reformation of the Republic
"The first incarnation of the democratic alliance of planets, the Galactic Republic, is reformed."
c.972 BBY: Rules of war

A team of Pathfinders typically includes two Jedi, a master and their apprentice, who work together with their Republic allies to discover new ways through dangerous and unexplored places. They work with communications teams who lay the groundwork for the infrastructure needed for Republic growth. In return for their efforts, the Jedi Order hopes to gain new understanding of the galaxy, new cultures, and the Force."
c.383 BBY: THE HYPERSPACE RUSH
"Independent explorers also race to discover new paths through hyperspace. These prospectors risk their lives in perilous, uncharted corners of the Outer Rim, hoping to find safer, shorter routes. Families like the Grafs and San Tekkas earn great fame and fortune by selling their knowledge of these new hyperlanes."
382 BB The First High Republic book of Phase II
The High Republic: Path of Deceit kicks off the second phase of books, set 150 years before the previous phase.
382 BBY: Battle of Jedha
"The Path of the Open Hand instigates a battle on the sacred moon of Jedha."
232 BBY The First High Republic book of Phase I:
The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, which kicks off the original era of the High Republic (out of universe, not in universe), starting with the Great Hyperspace Disaster where a ship explodes in hyperspace over the planet Hetzal Prime. This ignites an intergalactic conflict with the Nihil that draws the Jedi and the Republic into a massive connected, long-running series of battles against them.
232 BBY:
"Dignitaries and Jedi gather at the Starlight Beacon for its official dedication ceremony."
The Great Hyperspace Disaster (the Legacy Run explodes in hyperspace) happens and the Jedi rush to help mitigate the disaster and evacuate as many people as they can.

Fear grips the Outer Rim as blazing wreckage of the ship appears with little warning from hyperspace. As the Republic seeks answers to these Emergences, a group of Jedi stranded in a forgotten corner of space unknowingly cause a far older and more sinister threat to emerge: the Drengir."
"Wreckage from the Legacy Run scatters through hyperspace, endangering the Outer Rim. The first of the Emergences after the Great Hyperspace disaster occurs at Ab Dalis, killing 20 million beings."
"The Nihil strike on Elphrona, intending to ransom well-connected homesteaders and capture a Jedi for Marchion Ro’s evil machinations."
"The Jedi Council votes to join the Republic against the Nihil."
232 BBY: A BEACON OF HOPE
"With the Great Disaster behind them, the Republic and Jedi refocus on the opening of the Starlight Beacon. This towering space station located in the Outer Rim is one of Chancellor Lina Soh’s Great Works, meant to provide a symbol of hope in a dark corner of the galaxy. This shining example of Republic unity and progress serves as a vital base for the ongoing struggles with the Nihil and Drengir."
"One of Chancellor Lina Soh’s Great Works, the Starlight Beacon, begins operation after a dedication ceremony attended by Republic dignitaries and prominent members of the Jedi Order. The station is to be just one of many beacons, serving to connect, inspire, and serve the Republic’s growth in the Galactic Frontier. The Jedi maintain a permanent presence on the station under the leadership of Marshal Kriss and the watchful eye of the exacting Jedi Master Estala Maru."
"Hunting the Nihil - Though it lacks a formal military, the Republic forms a special task force to hunt the Nihil, with Joss and Pikka Adren among the first volunteers."

231 BBY: THE REPUBLIC FAIR
"Chancellor Lina Soh’s next Great Work is a magnificent fair on Valo. Meant to celebrate the Republic and its many achievements, the event turns into a tragedy. The Nihil mount a merciless raid on the fairgoers, destroy the event, and nearly kill the chancellor. The Jedi defenders mount a valiant defense but are outnumbered."
231 BBY: FIGHT FOR THE FRONTIER
"The Jedi march across the frontier as they seek justice for the attack on the Valo fair. With the Drengir threat seemingly settled, they turn their attention to the scattered Nihil forces. The Jedi believe that they are gaining the upper hand, but are unaware of who leads the raiders and their ultimate goal. The Nihil Tempest Runners bear the brunt of the assault while the Eye of the Nihil, Marchion Ro, prepares a new weapon to fight the Jedi."
"The Republic-Togruta Alliance is formed."
230 BBY: FALL OF STARLIGHT
"The Nameless wreak havoc among the Jedi, who fight valiantly in Starlight’s final moments. Master Estala Maru sacrifices his own life to delay the top half of the station from burning up in Eiram’s atmosphere. Below, Master Stellan Gios stays behind to ensure the lower portion will not strike a populated city on the planet’s surface."

Maul reveals that he had hoped to lure Obi-Wan and Anakin to Mandalore in order to kill Anakin, so Sidious could not take the Jedi as his new apprentice. Ahsoka and Maul duel. Maul is captured by Rex’s clones, with Saxon apprehended as well."
"On Utapau, Obi-Wan confronts Grievous. He duels the Separatist warlord and then chases him through the city’s winding tunnels and warrens."
"Palpatine reveals his true identity to Anakin and begs him to use his knowledge to save Padmé. Anakin vows to turn him over to the Jedi."
"Obi-Wan corners Grievous in a hangar on Utapau and kills the mechanical monster with a shot from a blaster."
"Imprisoned in a device that prevents him from using the Force, Maul is brought aboard a Jedi Cruiser destined for Coruscant, escorted by Ahsoka."
"Told of Palpatine’s identity, Windu orders Anakin to wait at the Jedi Temple while he arrests Sidious with Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin. Sidious kills Tiin, Fisto, and Kolar and duels Windu. He attacks Mace using lightning, which the Jedi Master deflects back at Sidious. Anakin arrives and pleads that Sidious be allowed to stand trial, but Windu says he’s too dangerous to be spared. Anakin makes a fateful decision, stopping Windu’s attack by severing his hand. Sidious blasts Windu with lightning, sending him through the broken window. Anakin pledges allegiance to Sidious, who grants him the name Darth Vader. He tells Anakin to go to the Jedi Temple and kill everyone there—that will make him strong enough with the dark side to save Padmé."
"Ahsoka and Maul sense a strong disturbance in the Force."
19 BBY: ORDER 66
"Sidious issues Order 66. Clone troopers across the galaxy obey their inhibitor chips and attack the Jedi, decimating the Order."
"Commander Cody targets Obi-Wan Kenobi on Utapau. The Jedi survives the attack, escapes offworld, and is rescued by Senator Organa. Aboard the Jedi Cruiser Tribunal, Rex manages to tell Ahsoka to “find Fives” before trying to kill her. She evades Rex’s fire and flees from his troopers. Commander Grey and his clone battalion execute Depa Billaba on Kaller. oda avoids death by killing Commander Gree and Captain Jek, and then escapes Kashyyyk with help from Chewbacca and Tarfful. On a Jedi Cruiser above Bracca, Jaro Tapal is cut down by clones from the 13th battalion, sabotaging the warship before he dies. Captain Jag downs Plo Koon’s starfighter during a patrol flight on contested Cato Neimoidia. Ki-Adi-Mundi is cut down by Commander Bacara’s Galactic Marines during infantry maneuvers on Mygeeto. Luminara Unduli is captured on Kashyyyk. After her execution, the Inquisitors spread rumors of her survival to ensnare other fugitive Jedi. Stass Allie is blasted by Commander Neyo while flying BARC speeders in a mop-up operation on Saleucami. Commander Bly gives the order to shoot Aayla Secura amid Felucia’s colorful fungi."
"Ahsoka prevents other clones from killing the imprisoned Maul. She releases him to create a diversion. While Maul wreaks havoc aboard the Tribunal, Ahsoka activates a trio of astromechs to help her evade Rex’s troops. Ahsoka locates Fives’ records, learning what happened to him and that Rex suspected the clones’ inhibitor chips have some ulterior purpose. Ahsoka subdues Rex and removes his inhibitor chip. Maul destroys the Tribunal’s hyperdrive, sending the doomed Jedi Cruiser careening toward the surface of a remote moon."
"Bail Organa arrives at the Jedi Temple to investigate the uprising and is confronted by clone troopers. He retreats under fire."
"Anakin, now known as Darth Vader and backed by the 501st Legion, marches on the Jedi Temple and slaughters its defenders. He shows no mercy, believing that the dark side is the only pathway to the unnatural powers he must command to save Padmé. As his rage and lust for power swell, not even younglings hiding in the Jedi Council chambers are safe from his lightsaber. "Obi-Wan and Yoda fight their way into the Jedi Temple and recalibrate a signal to warn any surviving Jedi away."
"Padmé arrives on Mustafar, unknowingly bringing along Obi-Wan as a stowaway. Anakin uses the Force to choke her. As C-3PO and R2-D2 tend to Padmé, Anakin and Obi-Wan fight a running duel through the lava flows of Mustafar’s mining complex."
"On Coruscant, Yoda confronts Sidious and the two duel in the Senate Chamber, with Sidious hurling Senate pods at his Jedi enemy. Ascendant with dark-side power, Sidious proves too tough a foe for Yoda, who flees their duel, evading clone troopers sent to hunt him, and is whisked away by Bail Organa in an airspeeder. Sidious senses his new apprentice is in danger and hurries to Mustafar."
"Anakin is left maimed and burned after dueling Obi-Wan on Mustafar. Obi-Wan takes Anakin’s lightsaber and leaves him to die. Anakin survives and is encased in life-preserving black armor. As Darth Vader, he becomes the subject of rumors as the Emperor’s servant and enforcer"

By compelling the Force to serve his purposes, Vader takes an essential step in his journey as a Sith."
"Sidious puts Vader in charge of the Inquisitors, Force users who once served the light but were seduced or brutalized into following the dark side and are now responsible for hunting down and killing the galaxy’s fugitive Jedi. Vader proves a ruthless taskmaster, brutalizing his new underlings in combat training sessions and eliminating those who fail to live up to the standards demanded by him and the Emperor."
"Sidious orders Vader to lure the Jedi Order’s fugitive archivist Jocasta Nu to Coruscant’s Jedi Temple and capture her. An enraged Vader kills Commander Fox after clone troopers under his command fire on the Sith Lord at the Jedi Temple. Vader kills Nu, tells Sidious she died trying to escape, and crushes the crystal."
"The Empire builds up its forces and begins enlisting and training conscript stormtroopers to replace the Republic’s clone soldiers."
"The Empire bombards Kamino’s cities, destroying all traces of the cloning program that played a critical role in the Clone Wars."
SOURCES & NOTES:
Star Wars Timelines by Kristin Baver, Jason Fry, Cole Horton, Amy Richau, and Clayton Sandell is the primary source for much of this, anything in quotation marks is sourced from here unless otherwise noted. This timeline is only quoting a small minority of what's available in the book, so it's recommended that you check it out for yourselves!
I have done my best to put everything in order even within the specific years, noting where I'm not 100% sure of the sequence of events.
If a "c.[YEAR]" is included, the spot is estimated, not hard fact, but in general it's a pretty trustworthy placement! Except for birthdays--they're not placed directly on the timeline, so I just kind of threw them in at the end most times.
Observation: Holy crap, the Clone Wars was NUTS.

She was built like a dream — Joseph Heller
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker were… uncomfortable.
Not because Master Yoda himself had tasked the three of you with this urgent mission to the Outer Rim. Nor was it due to the cloudy, dark, and incessantly rainy atmosphere that was Morlana One’s Leisure Zone— its backstreets dotted by the occasional lifeless streetlight that just barely reflected off the puddles below, paving the two Jedi a glimmering path toward the local brothel.
No. It wasn’t any of that at all.
Instead, they felt a foreign existence within their own bodies, with each nearing step toward the club’s shadowy entrance, on account of the perplexing, and frankly alien, wears that sheened their limbs.
Of course, they never had any styling choice in the matter. Not for an assignment like this, where the elimination of Jedi symbols was expected.
Because this was a mission that required a gentler, more covert hand.
Because this was a mission that had you all undercover.
Nearly 72 hours ago, unknown assailants had broken into one of the Jedi Temple’s artifact rooms. From the emergency cache, they’d stolen seven Kyber crystals, which were always held at the ready in case a Jedi needed a temporary saber after damaging or misplacing their own.
A facility Anakin took advantage of too many times to count.
But, on this occasion, the Order could only count themselves lucky that The Chosen One had again somehow lost his lightsaber during a short mission to the Coruscant Underworld, requiring him to report to that very same artifacts chamber for a replacement before he could continue his search down into the planet’s murky depths. By chance, the chestnut-haired Jedi had arrived just in time to witness that the usually locked, ornate wooden door was notably ajar. And, with further investigation, that the krystals’ storage chest had been ransacked.
With Council Member Master Kenobi assigned to the inquiry, he quickly learned from a few trustworthy sources, including his old friend Dex, that the crystals were flown off-world to be sold at auction. To a seedy establishment in the Morlani System, no less. All with an undetectability and swiftness that duped not only the inter-District and planetary departure security systems, but the Jedi Temple’s once-thought-impregnable apparatus as well.
Evidently, Master Yoda had found that this operation met a sophistication not often seen among the ranks of disparate pirates or common thieves. It was why, after Kenobi came to him with this information, the Grand Master decided that the bearded man and Jedi Knight who discovered the robbery would be assigned to retrieve these precious artifacts. Placing an emphasis on the need to arrive undercover, lest this sordid enterprise catch wind of a group of creeping, saber-wielding Jedi.
They just couldn’t risk it.
Any action like that would certainly force this gang to race underground once again, crystals in tow, before the Jedi had a chance to recover them.
So, the Council supplied Obi-Wan and Anakin with clothes of the region’s elite, aiming to disguise them both as potential buyers.
Kenobi, a black dress uniform with gold, reflective embellishments suffocating his suit jacket while fueling his growing desire to remain hidden within the shadows as it converted his torso into a glinting beacon under the passing lights. And Skywalker, a simpler, but equally sophisticated gray suit atop a pearly white button-down that screamed conformity louder than Anakin could voice his displeasure.
Still, leaving the crystals’ fate up to whether this gang would accept Republic Credits was a game of pure chance. That, and the notion of buying back stolen, sacred property was never the Jedi way.
That’s where you came in.
A Jedi whose Force-sensitivity was so saturated, that you had the ability to viscerally sense Kyber crystals from parsecs away. And a talent that, in Master Yoda’s opinion, made you the perfect addition to the team.
Well, that and the open secret that the three of you had long ago become an unofficial squadron already. Considering the countless missions you’ve traipsed through together for most of your Jedi, and even Padawan, years, it was a wonder that Master Yoda felt the need to specifically mention your name either way. Even on missions in which the rag-tag trio were slingshotted to opposite poles of the galaxy, you’d always found a way back to each other.
That, or the Force itself had a dire motivation to keep those momentary separations brief.
Perhaps that’s why the two men, in addition to their clothing-related distractions, had sparking nerves heightened by another, salient factor.
That you weren’t by their side.
Given your skill set, it was clear from the beginning your cover needed to be quite different from theirs. So, twenty hours before the auction was set to start, while Obi-Wan and Anakin prepared their disguises, you slipped out. Leaving for the brothel on your own since you all agreed that the only way to secure your cover as an establishment employee was by actually applying to become one.
It was the only surefire way to explore the back rooms without tipping the sellers off. The only option the three of you had to find the crystals’ exact location. And to ensure that when chaos did reign, the artifacts wouldn’t be caught in the crossfire.
Still, neither man particularly enjoyed this arrangement.
“You remembered to bring it, correct?” Obi-Wan voiced, glancing at Anakin’s pensively taught brows beside him as the brothel’s neon purple sign gently flickered into view, encouraging him to once again tug at his neckline’s taught clasp around his throat.
“Of course!” The younger Jedi acknowledged. “I was the one telling her that she should’ve had it in the first place.”
In spite of the underlying weariness still thrumming at his chest, Kenobi couldn’t help but raise an amused brow at his former Padawan.
“You? Lecturing Y/n about leaving her lightsaber behind? I seem to recall that it was your inability to keep track of your own that landed us in this predicament in the first place.”
Anakin scoffed, a subtle smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. “And I seem to remember Master Nu saying that the raid on the artifacts room wouldn’t have been discovered for weeks if it weren’t for me.”
Still, the chestnut-haired Jedi sighed, yanking down the tails of his gray suit jacket that just barely fit his longer form while he continued.
“Besides, it was no mistake. She didn’t take her lightsaber intentionally.”
Kenobi shook his head knowingly. Partly due to his former Padawan’s somewhat warped perspective of the situation, but mostly because he too was not completely on board with the notion of you being undercover and completely unarmed. Though, no matter how much he desired to do so, Obi-Wan had trouble denying that, like always, your reasoning stood sound.
A reminder that subconsciously made his heart flutter.
“You know, Anakin, that she couldn’t have feasibly hidden it away. It’s safer for her that we hold onto it for now. She will have it when she needs it.”
And that’s why, no matter his outward assurances, Kenobi seemed to have an inability to take his own advice. Perhaps too it was Anakin’s own anxieties that were infecting the Force.
But no leakage from his signature could truly reflect the hate Skywalker felt for this plan. He had shot down its premise the whole journey here, but in the end, it was no use. Anakin understood that once you put your mind to something, especially in the name of protecting the community you held so dear, there was nothing anyone in the Galaxy could do to stand in your way.
And he really did treasure you for that.
“I know,” Skywalker grumbled, pivoting to avoid a stumbling Bith with a curved bottle in hand, brown liquid sloshing out to land just beside his black dress shoe as he walked by. “But I still don’t like it.”
Evidently, no matter their confidence in your ability to take care of yourself, the two men remained deeply troubled by the fact that you were still far enough away as to be immune from their protection.
But that would soon change.
“Alright,” Kenobi slowed just beside the establishment’s greasy, revolving door to address the younger man as they neared their arrival.
“We will need to remain in one place so that Y/n can find us. She needs to know where we are at all times to deliver the signal. The zone’s blueprints suggest that the center bar will have the best vantage point. So that’s where we’ll go. Oh—“
Obi-Wan lifted a warning brow at the younger man.
“And don’t stray.”
Anakin rolled his eyes, lips pursing in an attempt to keep his face neutral.
“I don’t stray, Master.”
If you had your portable chronometer on your person, you would’ve checked it by now.
About fifteen minutes, you’d been waiting a handful of meters from the brothel’s storage room, disguised by the far corner tables nestled within the establishment’s shadowy edges. Marking it the perfect locale for distant observers of the night’s entertainment— or idly spying Jedi. Fifteen minutes since Krissa, a now fellow employee, shuffled into that very same room to collect a few crates of Fizzbrew for the opening bar. Nearly twenty hours after you’d secured employment as what the owner lovingly called a “Friendly Dancer.”
Luckily, it was during that same interview that you’d caught the colorful, Force-illuminated trail, leading your attuned senses to this secured back room, like a bloodhound to its prey.
Or a Jedi to her Kyber crystals.
Yet, despite your carefully chosen cover, both assumed identity and dark corner camouflage, you still had a nagging feeling that your specially selected ‘employee uniform’ wasn’t doing you any furtive favors.
Besides the strikingly crimson, skin-gripping short dress that clad your hips, the black, shimmering fishnet stockings and translucent platform heels were sure to draw some unwanted attention during a time in which invisibility was your best friend.
But you had no choice. If you had any hope of maintaining your cover and completing your mission, you had to work with what you were given.
So, for now, one of these rusted-over, ash stools would need to serve their purpose— concealing you from the trickling in throng’s broad perspectives as you kept a peripheral lock on that steel door’s sturdy frame. One by one, hungry bidders with puffy, expensive coats and sparkling wears thickened the atmosphere, all while you hoped Krissa would quicken her exit via the locked door so that you could slip in.
It was moments like these that you’d wished you had your lightsaber. At least then, you could’ve cut through the heavy, metal barrier all on your own.
But, alas, this was a mission of stealth. And you’d be damned to put either Obi-Wan or Anakin in danger because of your impatience.
Causing you to, once more, question their absence.
“Boys, boys. Where are you boys…” you hummed lowly to yourself.
Glancing toward the billowing crowd, you grew remiss at their absence. It was easy to recall how both Jedi were particularly against your decision to immerse yourself into this environment, alone and unarmed. So much so, that you assumed they would’ve arrived by now. An observation that forced you to consider how this mission was sure to sour quick were you required to act without backup.
You shook that thought out of your mind almost as immediately as it arrived.
Obi-Wan and Anakin would always appear when you needed them most.
And you adored them for that.
That, among the litany of elements that drew you into their lives in the first place.
Your first mission together was but a sapling in the times you were to share. Memories, little moments, and fleeting glances recently coalesced into the singular realization that you’d fallen in love with two of the most powerful Jedi the Galaxy has to offer.
But they were just that. Jedi.
And so were you.
So no matter your unquestionable feelings for the men, there was nothing you could do. Putting aside that you doubted any emotional reciprocation, you were sure too that they’d never break the Jedi code for you.
And that left you to again drag yourself back from those innermost thoughts to focus on the situation at hand. Specifically, your conclusion that any dearth left in Obi-Wan and Anakin’s wake would mean nothing of consequence if you couldn’t get into that storage room.
Luckily, there was no need to wait much longer.
Krissa shoved open the door, using her back to thrust it the rest of the way with a crate of clinking, dark green bottles swirling in her arms. Fluttering lilac dress flowing by her legs as her eyes landed on your surveilling form.
Kriff.
“Hey!” She scream whispered, brows stitched in reprimand while she leaned toward you. “You’re gonna get fired before you’ve even had a chance to work if you keep hiding from paying customers.”
You smiled sheepishly, playing into her assumption as you ‘stumbled’ to your feet.
“I’m so sorry,” you mouthed, ambling toward the older woman while lifting a hand to ripple through the force floating by her eyes.
You spoke lowly.
“You want me to help you bring out those crates.”
“I want you to help me bring out these crates,” she parroted in a glazed-over daze, arm catching the steel door just before it shut to allow you entry.
You nodded to her thankfully, even though she had no choice in the matter, before pushing your way past the chilly aperture, entering the stuffy storage room while the door slammed shut behind you.
Speedily, you surveyed the cramped compartment, stacked and spread to the ceiling with a strange concoction of alcohol-filled crates, charcoal cargo containers, and draped artifacts that evinced the basement of a museum far more than a brothel’s back room.
But you didn’t really give it a second thought. If you didn’t want to get caught, then there was no time to ponder aesthetics.
Quickly, as your eyes fluttered closed, you allowed the Force to thicken your blood, treating your body and mind like a living, breathing compass in its guide to connect you with your True North—
The seven missing Kyber crystals.
With vision consumed by blackness, you dodged each precariously placed box and every outstretched figurine that threatened to obstruct your path as your senses drew you a detailed map toward the back wall. Almost like a pulsing beacon, you felt the heat of your connection to the sacred artifacts deepen, warming your more-than-usually exposed skin. Intensifying with each, deliberate step. Until it reached a fiery blaze so extravagant that one stride further would’ve certainly lit you alight.
You opened your eyes.
“Hey!” A deep voice called from behind you, triggering your heels to spin around toward the sudden sound, and away from the loosely sealed cargo container whose subtle, yet familiar, blue shine confirmed your senses.
Swiftly, you absorbed the older man’s ruffly peppered beard and chilled brown eyes as his head poked past the slightly ajar steel door, barely masked snarl contorting his lips.
“I don’t pay you to ogle the merchandise! Get out there and mingle,” he continued, jutting a thumb to the club’s main room to his rear.
You leapt to your feet, making a mental note of the crystals’ location while scurrying toward the owner who seemed to have somehow grown at least one more gray hair since your interview with him.
“Sorry, sir,” you mumbled, twisting to get by his form against the door and entering onto the main floor before turning back toward him. “Won’t happen again.”
“It better not,” he huffed, swiveling to catch the shutting door with his foot before leaning down to retrieve something from behind it.
Still, his muffled voice echoed beyond the subsequent shuffling.
“You’re assisting tonight, and I want high bids. So get out there and make them like you.”
You nodded complacently, already prepared to whip around and follow his orders until the older gentleman reemerged with another case of green bottles cradled under his arm.
“And here,” he shoved the crate, obliging you to catch it somewhat unexpectedly with opened palms.
“Take this to the bar.”
“I don’t like this…” Anakin droned during his casual stroll toward Obi-Wan’s side, a glass of orange fizzy liquid held inconspicuously before his lips.
Kenobi was leaning against the bar, his cup of whatever was on tap cradled between his fingers yet clearly untouched. Instead, the subtly troubled Jedi’s attentive eyes continued their periodic scan of the barely lit brothel. Flitting past the pockets of gold-illuminated tabled alcoves and dark blue paneling, his eyes weaved through the voluminous throng. One that featured intimately quiet mumblings among extravagantly suited clientele and gorgeously draped employees.
It wasn’t hard for him to surmise the highest paying customers from the number of brothel workers who’d hang from their arms, clearly on the job.
Smiling at each of their glances. Laughing at every joke…
Kenobi wasn’t daft.
He clearly understood the expectations a club like this had for its staff. At the least, for those who mingled with the bidders before the show. He’d only hoped that with whatever position you’d acquired for your cover at this establishment, it wasn’t pressing you to do much of the same.
And no matter how illogical it sounded in his mind, he still didn’t want to see that.
Moreover, it seemed to be a thought that equally disturbed Anakin, as his gentle thrums of anxious musing stained the Force, gradually amplifying since both Jedi had yet to locate you.
The younger Jedi had always been protective of you, Obi-Wan excused, unbeknownst that Skywalker was making much of the same defense. Though for the chestnut-haired Jedi, it was more the self-justification that he was a protective person in general. And that this was nothing more than only that.
Just Anakin being Anakin.
“I’m confident she’ll turn up soon, Anakin.”
The younger man expressly sighed, permitting a brief beat to pass as a spring of laughter ricocheted by his ears from a nearby dancer. Waiting for it to die down with bated breath before angling to respond.
“What if she didn’t get the job? She might be trying to find a different way in right now.”
Obi-Wan had no need for reaching out to the Force in order to confidently answer that inquiry.
“She succeeded. Trust me, I’d know otherwise.” He hummed, raising his glass to just barely grace his lips, but never daring to take a sip and weaken his awareness. “However, should they not show soon, I am considering they may have been apprehended.”
Similarly, Anakin vehemently shook his head. He even permitted a wry chuckle to escape past those formerly parched lips before confidently responding to the Jedi Master’s statement.
“No way. If Y/n got caught, she’d send us a signal the second she felt us near.”
Skywalker’s confident air faltered.
“Well,” he shrugged nervously. “Assuming she’s not injured.”
Obi-Wan shot his former Padawan a disapproving glare.
Until his attention was suddenly grasped by a warm, comforting hand sliding across his shoulder.
“Is this what you boys do when I’m not around? Theorize about my potential failings?”
The two men spun toward you, catching the playful smirk consuming your features before their eyes were tugged down like an anchor to trail your stunningly sheathed body, almost as if it was the first time they’d ever laid eyes upon you.
It would be an understatement to state that absorbing this captivating sight had coerced their jaws into forgetting their primary function.
The low-cut style of your short, curving red dress. The fishnet stockings that stretched down your thighs and softly clasped your high-heeled feet. The sparkling, green gemmed earrings that perfectly brought out your plump, red lipstick and long lashes. And, most noticeably, your loose, flowing hair that they’d only ever seen tied back for battle, now resting lushly across your bare shoulders like a still-life statue.
It wasn’t a side of you either men had the pleasure of observing before. And, if given the chance, they’d challenge whichever entity had so long sealed this wonderful sight from their burning eyes to a duel.
One that such an unjust creature was sure to regret.
It was a kind of fairy tale notion that both men pondered instantly once they felt a bubbling heat swarm their countenance when faced by your visual power.
So much so, that Anakin couldn’t help but break the brief lull as his suddenly dried mouth reached down his throat for an audible, and undoubtedly embarrassing, cough as he scratched his nose to try to hide himself.
Obi-Wan wasn’t coping much better. The Master Negotiator had lost all concept of Basic, its vocabulary, grammar, and everything in between as his mind was only filled with your enticing image, your pleasantly exposed skin, and the touch of your fingers to his body.
Until it was too soon gone.
Your hand fell thoughtlessly to your side, head cocking with lifted brows before speaking.
“You can close your mouths. It was just a joke.”
But it was Kenobi who first gathered the confidence to respond.
“Um, you look—“
“Lemme guess. Ravishing? The night’s main treat?” You relayed sarcastically while heaving down a large crate of clinking bottles atop the bar, one that both men only just now noticed before you whipped back toward the still stunned Jedi, drawing their gaze center.
“I’ll have it known that the distance between the storage room and the bar is a mere fifteen-second walk and I’ve already heard it all—“
“…like an angel,” Anakin muttered, not even himself realizing that he’d said that aloud.
Your eyes widened ever so slightly as you felt your heart skip a beat, sending an unexpected tingle to the root of your gut before sheepishly smiling at the deepening flush of the chestnut-haired man.
Obi-Wan, on the other hand, tensely eyed his former Padawan.
“Okay, that one’s new,” you admitted, gaze trailing away to conceal your unpreparedness for such an unexpectedly sweet comment.
Ironically, it was at that moment that your wandering stare settling beyond Anakin’s shoulder abruptly caught a familiar, peppered beard. Accompanied by terse, beady eyes that scowled at you from a far wall with the intensity of a lodestar.
You had a decision to make.
But, really, was there a choice at all?
Obi-Wan would catch on, you thought.
Though, no matter how well Kenobi did understand the requirements of your cover, he still certainly wasn’t expecting you to, in a millisecond, swiftly stride toward his bewildered form to wrap your warm arms around his neck.
Immediately, despite the quickening of his thrumming heart latching onto his Adam’s apple, Obi-Wan raised his usually firm hands to gently clasp at your forearms, being sure to send you a questioning glance as he smoothly played along.
But under all that, and although he was still unsure why, deep down Kenobi secretly hoped that such a quizzical gesture hadn’t encouraged you to subsequently pull away. For some reason, he despised the thought of influencing you to forgo remaining this close to him.
So close, that he could feel the tickle of your breath across his chin.
Thankfully, though, his innermost prayer seemed to have been answered.
“Sorry,” you whispered, conveying an outwardly flirting expression of perked lips and a tilted head.
There were very few people in the Galaxy capable of reading the subtle apologetic shine of your eyes that deeply stared into his. An invisible utterance that remained firm while you briefly freed one hand to beckon over a confounded, and secretly peeved, Anakin who stood just behind his former Master, before you grasped his loose hand and tugged him forward with a terribly fake laugh.
Soon, you rested the younger Jedi’s arm on your lower back, securing its nervously flaccid form around your waist while Skywalker’s face transformed into a brand new shade of crimson once he discovered the dress’s open back.
A clearly readable reaction that deepened Kenobi’s hesitation with his former Padawan’s proximity to you. And while his mind struggled to connect the dots on why he continued to experience these strange bouts of discomfort, too distracted to truly pin down these sensations, Kenobi still felt fueled by Anakin’s expression to nudge you a little closer into his own chest.
If that was even possible.
Paying no mind to the sudden action, you addressed both men, giving a particular glance to Anakin who seemed to be the most caught off-guard of the two of them.
“The brothel’s owner made it very clear that if I don’t ’mingle’ with the customers, trouble will come my way.”
And that made the former slave’s blood boil.
“I’ll kill him.”
“No, you won’t,” you punctuated, temporarily removing your other arm from Obi-Wan to privately rest on Anakin’s balmy cheeks, caressing them down to draw his eyes to your level as he too struggled to fight off the festering heart attack that threatened to crack his rib, and deepened the sudden feeling of emptiness in Kenobi’s chest. “Because we have one mission here, and it’s to retrieve those stolen crystals. And I’m not losing my chance to snatch them away due to your needless protectiveness. I’m quite capable on my own.”
“What do you mean?” Kenobi inquired, taking this opportunity to regain some realm of confidence before snaking his arms around your waist and tugging you toward him with a roughness that would easily read as greedy to anyone who happened to be looking that way.
Still, the unexpected suddenness of his movement set the nerves in your face on fire. No matter, you played into the act, falling into his chest with fingers gripping onto the lapels of his oddly sparkly jacket.
“Um,” you swallowed, regathering your thoughts with a blink. “I’m assisting tonight. Meaning that I’ll be showcasing each item while they’re bid upon.”
You hummed to yourself while considering this new stroke of luck. A sudden vibration against Obi-Wan’s chest that you hadn’t realized sent a fresh, nervous chill down his arms as he held your mystifying figure, encouraging subtly wandering eyes to drink in the sight once more while his unsteady heart began to churn his innermost thoughts.
It was in that same moment that Anakin first caught onto his former Master’s charade, having finally glimpsed an equal measure of voraciousness within his distracted, blue orbs. Something that stoked Anakin’s frustration that began anew with each moment Kenobi drew you closer to himself.
“I say we don’t waste the credits,” you commented, refocusing both Jedi’s attention. “The minute I have the crystals in hand, I’ll send you a signal, and we’ll dash out of here.”
Obi-Wan leaned into you, forehead mere centimeters from yours as a spoke lowly. And for some reason, you thought, with noticeably erratic breath.
“That’s extremely risky.”
“Well, you have my lightsaber. Don’t you?” You challenged with a lift of your lips.
Suddenly, a trail of warm fingers raked up into your hair, sending quite an unexpected chill down your back once they clutched around a bunch and somewhat needily rotated your head toward Anakin’s expectant face. Yanking your body more forcefully before soon feeling his strong arm catch your side.
“I have it,” he spoke lowly.
And in spite of how desperately he tried to keep his eyes connected with yours, he couldn’t help that split second in which they sparsely flitted toward your perfectly tinted lips.
An action you apparently missed for your focus on the mission at hand.
But a gesture that contorted Obi-Wan’s lips into a perpetual frown as his mind caught up with his frothing feelings.
“Good,” you expressed. “Then I’ll have it when it’s needed.”
While your eyes remained focused and thoughtful, half a mind on playing up your cover with the other half on those crystals, Anakin had trouble keeping his eyes from once more wandering downwards.
The feel of your red-draped body against his, the closeness of your bared upper chest and noticeable cleavage, the sparkle of your eyes that comparably made your bright earrings look like clumps of coal.
Though not fully, Anakin was beginning to understand what was going on in his chest to draw his signature into such a volatile temper. Mostly because he couldn’t help himself when one hand released from your soft hair to trail down your exposed back, the other palm brushing upwards from your flank to meet the other side as he briefly traced the outline of your shoulder blades.
All of which sent a lightning bolt of cold heat right up to your head and down toward your sensitively tingling toes before he inched you toward him with the press of his fingertips while he whispered.
“Obi-Wan is right. I don’t think we should take the risk. But just in case you need it…”
Slowly, he retrieved a hand, raking it over your shoulder and feeling every inch of your arm while his mind cleared. The chestnut-haired man’s swelling eyes traced the enticing experience until he reached your hand. And with feigned gravitas clouding his features, he carefully guided your hand beneath his suit jacket, dragging it just along his warm back until you felt a cold metal resting beside his tailbone.
“…you know where it is.”
What was happening?
That was the main question you were asking yourself.
Were both Obi-Wan and Anakin just really amazing actors when the moment required it? You’d certainly never seen such a talent from either of them before. Yet the sudden naturalness, the near familiarity with which each Jedi pulled and held you close? The intimate touches and long glances while this secret meeting proceeded?
You weren’t sure what changed between twenty hours ago and now. Yet, in your core, you knew a part of your brain didn’t want it to stop.
No.
You were a Jedi. You were all Jedi. Committed to a code.
You must’ve been reading this wrong. Feelings that you knew you’d long held for the men had once again clouded your judgment.
Meanwhile, the growing tension between the two Jedi had heightened to a noticeable degree. But with your mind focused seemingly on other matters, it was only just to each other.
“You? Not wanting to be reckless?” You stated, attempting to suffocate your rushing nerves with a confident smirk. “Are you sure I’m speaking with Anakin Skywalker or do we have an imposter in our midsts?” You chuckled. “Oh, and agreeing with Obi-Wan?” You added, raising a brow.
This time, it was Master Kenobi who felt a fire erupt through his veins while his thoughts solidified.
It was you.
You who were making him feel such a way.
Ever and always.
On every mission and in each universal moment, it was you who made the Jedi Master take pause as his heart skipped a beat in your presence.
Master Kenobi was even more firm in this belief: that he was quite finished with watching Anakin cradle you in his arms for any longer. That, and the growing desire fueled by this new angle permitting Obi-Wan to graze over your open back’s supple skin with his eyes, drained him of all his decades-long self-control in an instant.
He needed to do something about that
Reaching a warm hand to the closest corner of your waistline, and with a little nudge from the Force on the other side, Obi-Wan tugged you right into his arms.
You felt the imperceptible, tiny scratches of his sequined suit jacket and the heat barely underneath sprawl across your back while his palms meandered up your sides and down each arm, soon folding them across you as he enveloped you against himself.
This time, you truly couldn’t help the light, crimson blush that bloomed across your cheeks. Especially when Kenobi chose this opportune time to gradually lean into your shoulder, chin dipping so that his lips hung mere centimeters from your attentive ear before whispering a warning with a tone warmer than you were used to hearing from the Master Negotiator.
Especially in the middle of a mission.
“You should listen to him.”
Still, despite feeling the ravenous desire to take a calming breath and smooth your hammering heartbeat, you held firm, responding to his inquiry with an overpowering confidence that usually settled any score when the three of you were having a disagreement.
At the same time, having just noticed the brothel owner’s decision to push off his far wall perch to approach, you decided to also strike a grin, raising a flirtatious brow over your shoulder at Obi-Wan’s unreadably dark eyes while you spoke, maintaining your cover.
“No. The plan stands. Trust me, there’s no need to worry.”
But, unexpectedly for you, witnessing your visually claimed figure in Obi-Wan’s arms barking out orders all while clad in that tiny red dress ignited a fierce burning passion in Anakin to challenge you back as he too decided to make his thoughts known.
Through his words and with his hands.
Taking one powerful stride to stand directly before your toes, the younger man just barely graced your bottom lip to seize your chin, lifting it upwards and twisting you to meet his wanting, blue gaze. Compelling your bright, widening eyes to wonder once more whether the lines between fiction and reality were beginning to blur.
Your breath hitched.
“Gentlemen!” The owner exclaimed, sliding next to Obi-Wan and Anakin to place a performative pat on both their shoulders. “I’m glad you’re enjoying one of our new hires, but I’m afraid that I’ll need to borrow her for the rest of the auction. We are about to begin.”
Wordlessly, both Jedi released their respective grips on you, sharing between themselves an unamused glance above your head while you ambled toward the owner. Never breaking your own, painfully forged smile.
But that seemed to be enough to convince the quite older owner that all was set to begin, as he swiftly turned on his heel toward the brothel’s far podium, motioning for you to follow his trail.
You promptly obliged, yet not before sending one quick, yet quiet, last word with a twist of your head toward the Jedi who begrudgingly stayed behind with crossed arms or a clenched beard.
“Wait for my signal.”
“I’m not stupid, you know,” Anakin commented idling by Kenobi’s side.
The two men continued their observations of the auction since it began half an hour ago, their eyes rarely drifting away from the rather cramped, rickety stage while you traveled from side to side, displaying each item with deliciously attractive poise. Presently, you were exhibiting an old, handheld marble statue modeled after a female Twi’lek. And although other patrons regarded the item with interest, the two Jedi meant to be watching your back for any danger had their minds on other matters.
Anakin couldn’t keep his eyes off your sensually pacing legs, while Obi-Wan could barely remain still with your elegant, tightly wrapped hips moving to and fro.
“I hear 2,000 credits! 2,000 credits. Do I hear 2,100?”
Master Kenobi readjusted his shoulders somewhat uncomfortably. “I know. I don’t believe I’ve said otherwise.”
“Don’t play dumb. I know you want Y/n.”
The bearded Jedi whipped his head from the stage as he addressed the seemingly jealous, younger man. And for the first time in a very long time, Obi-Wan began to feel those same, envious emotions with equal strength, like he’d caught some psychic disease from the blue-eyed Jedi’s glance alone.
“2,100! Do I hear 2,200? 2,200 folks, for this ancient artifact of an unknown Ryloth civilization!”
“And?” He acknowledged nonchalantly, taking an assertive stance while he found comfort in the memory of you in his arms. “And what if I do?”
Anakin’s lips formed a thin line, the image of your parted, shocked lips when he caught your dressed figure perfuming his thoughts. “Then you wouldn’t be alone.”
“I’ve noticed,” Kenobi stated sarcastically before raising a rather annoyed brow.
“Going once! Going twice!”
“What are you gonna do?” Anakin mumbled.
Skywalker had to ask the question. Even though he’d already confirmed in his mind that no matter what, no matter if Master Kenobi felt the same, that he’d give you the chance of knowing that there was more than one.
Obi-Wan answered simply. “I’m planning on telling her.”
“Sold! To the fellow in the orange top hat on the right!”
Because through the older Jedi’s musings, Kenobi was arriving at a similar conclusion. That if you in any way felt the same, he’d at least give you a choice.
“I assume you’ll be doing the same?” He continued.
“Yes.” Anakin sighed, eyes returning to the stage just as you remerged with an old, raggedy yet sealed box held tightly in your hands. “And what if she can’t decide?”
Obi-Wan followed the young Jedi’s line of sight, subconsciously licking his lips as the fabric of your tight, red dress pulsed his blood and slackened his jaw.
“Then we do what we must…”
The bearded Jedi swallowed.
Hard.
“…we help her.”
A rallying spark flung through the Force, filling both Jedi’s senses as they were wrenched from the momentary, visual distraction that was your ravishingly dressed person.
There was no way to deny it. Your pointed expression? Your readied stance?
The signal had just been fired.
Reaching for their respective lightsabers hung inconspicuously at the belt, both Jedi swiftly whipped their weapons out into the open, igniting a collective blue glow that provided enough of a shockingly, eye-catching distraction for you to leap from the stage, box in hand, without much recourse.
Then came the blasters.
As if emerging like shadows from the establishment’s dark corners, a sporadic group of armed men dressed like well-to-do pirates began their determined assault. Coloring the air with orange beams while the crowd scattered, hurried screams and the groans of abruptly shuffling furniture echoing off the walls.
You bolted for the Jedi, triggering both to somersault toward you while they attempted to block any bolt that you nearly failed to dodge before landing at either flank. Thankfully, that provided the chance to fling a searching arm beneath Anakin’s suit jacket, grasping your saber from its warm habitat before yanking it out into the open to launch its green luminescence.
“Go!” Obi-Wan cried, deflecting another round of bolts from your rear while the two men encircled you like a living, breathing barrier.
“We’ll hold them off!” Anakin agreed, flinging a badly aimed bolt toward a now broken and sparking light fixture above before facing you. “Get back to the ship!”
You glanced at both men, making clear your uncertainty and reluctance through the Force as, even with your aid, the gentle perspires of their efforts became noticeable.
But it was their turn to stay firm.
“Now! We’ll be right behind you!” Obi-Wan strictly assured.
So, with the box of crystals secured tightly beneath one arm and your saber effectively defending against the coming onslaught with the other, you decided to, for once, follow the boys’ instructions as you bolted for the exit, and out the brothel’s door.
And, with their hearts already racing, both Jedi had to do their best not to focus on your distracting wears as they paved a path to race after you.
Leaping through the red and white Nu-class shuttle’s rear hatch the instant it opened wide enough to do so was enough to coerce out an instant sigh of relief as your feet landed on the metal floor, drawing you deeper into the bird’s belly. Naturally, after regaining some bearings in the familiarity of the ship, you felt secure enough to set the relatively sturdy box of Kyber crystals atop a nearby ledge before turning to assess the situation behind you.
You already sensed that Anakin and Obi-Wan had stuck close to your heels during the entire escape, sabers twirling with elegant control against any threatening phaser until you strayed far enough beyond the brothel’s preview to lose any potential tails. So you weren’t surprised to find both men maintaining a similarly brisk pace while speeding up the ramp seconds after your arrival. Sabers long ago clipped back at their sides with Obi-Wan leading the way, leaving Skywalker in charge of closing the now slowly rising hatch.
What you weren’t expecting, however, was that the overpowering determination emanating from the bearded Jedi’s face had not in the least bit lessened since he entered the craft. Quickly, yet smoothly, he shed his gaudy suit jacket, tossing it unceremoniously to the side as he subsisted his approach.
In fact, the slight narrowing of those blue eyes, an expression you’d only seen in the occasional sparring session, remained forwardly focused. If you didn’t know any better, you’d think he was charging right for you, an action itself that compelled you to perplexedly speak while his brown boots closed that ever-shrinking distance.
“What are you—“
Warm lips smashed against yours, moving hungrily yet delicately while Obi-Wan’s sturdy arms snaked around your waist to gently tug you into himself.
Your heart nearly stopped, and from the tingling, tiny explosions erupting at each and every nerve ending alone, you felt yourself fall into the momentum, arms raising with the certainty of a choreographed dance to cradle Obi-Wan’s head and run your fingers through his soft, auburn locks.
Whether consciously or not, his grip on you tightened, straining your breath before you had the unavoidable need to be even closer to him. You intensified the kiss, drawing his plump, reddened lips into slow and steady locks, only for them to release with the duration of a clap before you both deeply met each other again with needy swiftness.
It felt like hours, but it had been mere seconds since the instant his body met yours. Still, the two of you reluctantly pulled away from each other. Mostly to catch much-needed breaths from the pure, unadulterated shock of it all.
Master Kenobi held you still as your gaze graced over his flushed features, including that slightly tussled hair and darkened eyes that diverted from their usual bright sparkle. Especially when they flitted from your surprised orbs, to your plump lips, and back again.
But no matter this pleasing diversion, still, out of the corner of your eye, you were forced to notice Anakin— standing in the far corner in quiet observation, and chillingly reminding you of where you were and what important rules both you and his former Master had certainly just broken in his presence.
What made it all worse, though, was that for the life of you, you could not read the younger man’s expression. Apparently, he had just stood there, arms crossed once the shuttle door was secured and simply… watched? Impassively?
No, that couldn’t be right.
Then, he pushed off the wall.
Anakin’s arms fell to the side as he gradually approached you both, brows tightening into what looked like a slightly angrier cross that ran your brain into overdrive. You were still having trouble discerning his emotions through the Force, but could only make an educated guess that he was beyond frustrated that the two beings closest to him had just broken the Jedi Code.
And, also because, he didn’t seem to have any particular reaction to what Obi-Wan did, making you sadly doubt that he’d ever feel the same way you’d always felt for the chestnut-haired man and his former Master.
So, no matter how right it felt, how much you wanted it, you knew that it was time for some damage control.
“Obi-Wan…” you took a deep, shaky breath, nerves still firing at every end while your stare stood firmly on Obi-Wan’s wanting expression, Anakin nearing your side.
You loosely exhaled.
“Where did that—“
Hot moisture met your neck, Anakin’s wet lips attacking its side and extracting a startled gasp from your lungs as your eyes fluttered closed. Greedily, he cupped your throat to softy tug you toward him, draining your arms into a state of perpetual pliability from the pleasant heat filling your chest.
They slid, soon falling from Obi-Wan’s body entirely before you angled toward the younger Jedi and shakily twisted them around his shoulders for support. Another weak sigh escaped past your lips once you felt Anakin’s teeth graze across a sensitive spot as the weakening kisses continued, an action which only seemed to encourage the younger Jedi considering he returned to that spot with more fervor, sucking it dry until your jaw slackened.
Still, no matter how dazed your mind had become in this last minute of chaos, you just couldn’t believe this was happening.
It had to be a mistake, right? Was something else wrong?
Something must have happened.
Regathering your senses, you quickly pulled away from Anakin, feeling the resistance of your initial jerk snap Anakin from his equally influenced status as he quickly tried to give you space.
“Are you ok??” He asked rapidly, eyes seeping wide-eyed worry and flickers of guilt while Obi-Wan, who was initially calmly analyzing the show, too shifted to share a similarly concerned expression.
“Yes, of course,” you aired, still slightly out of breath as you stared confoundedly at the two men. “I’m fine Anakin, but what is going on? This is coming out of nowhere.” You shook your head. “Were the two of you drugged or something?”
“In a sense, I suppose we were,” Obi-Wan answered nonchalantly.
You raised a brow.
“Y/n,” Anakin uttered, drawing your eyes toward his. “Obi-Wan and I realized something back there during the mission. Something it looks like we both kinda knew for a while but didn’t really understand until now.”
Master Kenobi’s eyes raked across your figure once more while he spoke. “I saw you there, we saw you, truly, for the first time. And I lost my breath.”
You melted at his words.
“All I saw was pure beauty and you, and I couldn’t tell the difference,” Anakin spoke disjointedly, nearly making you giggle. “And I knew that seeing you like this, in this way, I couldn’t wait any longer. We couldn’t wait. We needed to tell you.”
“Tell me?” You asked breathily, preparing yourself for whatever was to come next.
“That we desire you,” Obi-Wan barely whispered, fluttering your stomach. “That you are more important to us than ancient statutes. And we determined that you must know so that you may decide if you wish it.”
You shuttered, worries of the Code fading into nothingness while the two men before you consumed your senses. “Decide?”
Anakin stared at you, a pleading glint in his eyes as he spoke gently.
“Which one of us you want back.”
Your still heavy breaths punctuated the otherwise quiet air. Characteristic of the thoughts rattling against your buzzed skull before a throaty mutter made its way past your teeth.
“I can’t…”
You watched while their faces deflated at your words.
“We understand, Y/n,” Obi-Wan spoke, a subtle sadness drooping his tone. “It’s quite alright—“
“No,” you corrected quickly. “No, I can’t decide.”
Anakin’s brows quirked at this, head tilting as curiosity subdued his brief listlessness.
“What do you mean?” He asked.
You sighed heavily, eyes drifting to the floor with an unaccustomed quiver. “I mean, I can’t decide because… because…”
You bit your lip.
“I want you both.”
Raising your head, you carefully observed the two men, bodies as still as statues while their swollen eyes held firmly on your figure. Anakin nurturing a steadily expanding, devious grin while he quietly flexed a fist, and Obi-Wan, faintly flicking his tongue across his top lip in an effort to carefully drink in your figure.
A pleasant chill ran down your spine.
“Is that alright?” You whispered.
Anakin chuckled incredulously, cueing Obi-Wan to respond to that inquiry.
“Darling,” he murmured, insatiable eyes sucking you barren as the nickname sent a new round of tingles down your legs. “That stretches far beyond ‘alright.’”
“How do you want us?” Anakin posed, tone nearing a growl.
Unfiltered, you spoke your mind.
“As close as possible.”
And the Jedi obliged.

Hell yes it is oc time babey!!! This is my togruta oc, Yora Tos, who was Brea's master when she was but a young padawan learner! 💖🫶💖
She was never offered a spot on the jedi council due to her being a little too new-age but she loved younglings and was perfectly happy teaching the next generation! Her personality was incredibly laid-back, and when little firecracker Brea was assigned to her, the council was hoping she might be able to calm the young one a little. Unfortunately for them, Yora had a very hands-off 'children will be children' attitude that gave Brea a LOT of freedom instead 😂 she wasn't UNWILLING to discipline her, but she did think Brea would benefit more from learning the consequences of her actions firsthand rather than reprimanding her too often, which eventually she did learn! The two remained very close even after Brea's knightship and I think Yora would have loved to take on other padawan after that, but the war sort of got in the way.
Her features are very soft, her gentle nature is reflected in her rounded patterns as opposed to the usually sharp-edged togruta patterns. Her colors are mainly cool, including her kyber crystal, as I think of her personality being much like flowing water and I wanted that to show it in her design. Her lightsaber also has a tulip-bud tip that I saw in the cartoon saloon star wars short 'Screechers Reach' and thought would be very fitting for her! Her first outfit design was kimono inspired but I decided to go the saree route instead in the second pic!

Pairings: Hunter x fem jedi! Reader
Summary: after a successful but injury ridden mission in the outer rim, you set course for a medi center for your troopers. Only to get pulled out of hyperspace and shot down onto a familiar planet. Thank God The Bad Batch is there.
Warnings: bits of angst, lots of plot, made up clones and names, you get a cool lightsaber I have pictures, kissing, innuendos of more than kissing, hurt and comfort epilogue kinda.
Word count: 5,033
The last battle had many of your good soldiers dead. The separatists foothold in the outer rim was not something the council wanted, so they sent you to deal with certain planets. You had a 98.99 percent success rate with missions, and your clone troopers definitely made up most of that percentage.
You had a small battalion, maybe only a couple thousand instead of several. You got a few rookies now and again but most of them went to General Skywalker or General Kenobi. But regardless of who was sent to you, you cared for them like you did any other. You tried your best to learn everyone's names, and even learned Mando’a, courtesy of your medic and ARK Trooper Kasey.
You had just finished the battle on Alberon and left that battle with about a hundred dead, the majority injured including your commander. So you made it your personal mission to bring your injured troop to the medical center in the outer rim.
You knew it was risky, but what you didn’t expect was to be forced out of hyperspace because an explosion went off on one of your engines on the outside of the ship, and then attacked by separatists as soon as you exited hyperspace.
You had managed to fend them off, and the pilots did good with flying your smaller jedi cruiser, The Resplendent. But there was no doubt you were going to have to crash land.
“Pilots, can you maneuver The Resplendent to an empty pocket of land? avoid any cities, it stinks of separatist here.” You snarled, and your pilots nodded. “We got it General!”
You nodded, turning to the more technical clones in the bridge. “Can you tell me anything about where we are about to land? hostiles, terrain, temperatures?” You asked, gripping onto the back of their seats as the cruiser shook violently when hitting the atmosphere. “It's a crystal desert terrain, General. a major seppie city not far away. No hostiles so far, but I can't get much else. The planet’s name is Cryt” The Clone explained.
You nodded. “Buckle up boys! don't die on me now!” You shouted before running off the bridge and to the medical center. You managed to get inside and seal the doors just as the ship lurched forward, and was about to toss around the wounded soldiers, but you quickly raised your arms, and used it to keep the more wounded secured in their beds and up against the wall.
Your eyes were squeezed shut as you focused on keeping your soldiers safe, but as the cruiser lurched forward again you remembered that you didn’t buckle yourself to something, so that concentration was quickly broken as you flew forward into the farthest wall, a couple of injured clones landing beside you.
You groaned, looking up just as a broken piece of wall metal came flying towards you, again you acted quickly, extending your hand as you pushed the metal down and onto the ground so it wouldn’t hurt anyone.
You grabbed your clones, wrapping an arm around them as you brought them back to their cot’s. You then strapped them in, for their safety, and moved the cot’s all together to lessen any impact. You found something to hold onto, sensing that the ground was getting closer and closer…
And soon the cruiser hit the ground and it shook more violently than it had coming down, glass shattered and surgical instruments went flying, but you managed to deter them from hitting any of your boys.
Soon The Resplendent slid to a stop, and you sagged, giving yourself a few seconds before standing up to check on the men. The ones who were conscious all gave you a thumbs up, and the ones who weren’t you just quickly checked their pulses, looking over at your commander finally.
His helmet was off, which showed the interesting tattoo’s he had gotten done. The sides of his head were shaved with some patterns in the buzzed hair that connected to a tattoo on his face which he had told you were Jaig eyes, only bestowed upon warriors with high valor and honor. You had told him he deserved them so he went to get the tattoo much later.
He had some words in Aurebesh that went in a vertical line from his hairline and down to his jaw, closer to his ear on the left side of his face that said ‘Born to fight, Trained to win’ and you also thought that was pretty neat. He told you he had some tattoo’s elsewhere too, but again you didn’t mind the clones customizing themselves.
The top of his hair was slightly longer, still short but not buzzed or styled, so some loose pieces of hair fell on his forehead. He was asleep, which was good. You analyzed his splinted leg and arm, which looked to be healing well despite the rocky landing and the adrenaline that kept him walking despite your orders for him to lay down.
The medical droid had told you he had multiple fractures, but they would all be healed quickly with proper medical attention, but for now as long as he rested and didn’t move he would still heal fine.
You left the medical room, glancing around as non-injured clones filled the hallways, helping those who were injured because of the crash, or moving those who had died because of it. You sighed, placing your hands on your hips as you shook your head.
You then went to the nearest terminal, which was still working luckily, and you made an announcement.
“All non injured soldiers and personnel report to the bridge for further orders.”
Once the order was carried out, you made your way back to the Bridge, noticing a few more dead pilots and technicians, but most were alive, if not a little bruised. “Good job boys.” You sighed, standing in the center as your soldiers, and other personnel arrived at the bridge.
“General? what happened?” One of the clones asked, and when you turned around you realized it was your ARK trooper, Kasey. He had a slight gash in his head, but was holding some cloth to it. Your medic, Koba, was already assessing the damage of the bridge and the people in it.
You studied your troopers, most of their armor was painted orange and black, the orange matched your lightsaber, and to them it meant ambition, and fierce loyalty, which you loved. The black was just an accent color, but you had chosen to match them clothing wise.
A sigh fell from your lips and you spoke up, placing your hands on your hips. “We have landed on the separatist planet of Cryt. There’s a major city a few clicks west from where we landed, I'm going to go see if i can find any way to communicate with The Republic or the Jedi to send reinforcements and a new cruiser for pickup.” You explained, pausing for only a moment before you continued.
“I want you all to protect those in the medbay with your life. Keep a tight perimeter, and scrap any metal you can for some extra defense. Kasey and Koba are in charge while I'm gone. If Commander Pulse wakes up and tries to move, you tell him that my specific orders are for him to rest. And if I find out any of you let him walk around or give orders, you’re gonna get the grainy peas from the mess.” You growled, your men saluting automatically.
“But General- should you really go alone?” Kasey asked you, a worried look on his face. You sighed, shaking your head. “No, but I need my men here, safe and protecting their brothers. I can hide in plain sight, you can't.” You started moving your lightsaber so it was hiding on a clip you had on your lower back attached to your belt
Kasey sighed but nodded, and you left the bridge, heading to your quarters which were luckily still accessible. You changed into something a little less obvious, removing what little armor you did wear.
You changed out of your robes, and into a form fitting pair of tan jeans, as for your top you wore a sleeveless blue top, with a form fitting turtleneck collar. You placed on your bracers and hand armor overtop the fingerless elbow gloves you wore, and then came your leather boots which were a dark brown and went up slightly past your ankles.
A blaster was an unorthodox weapon for a jedi, but you had one just in case, and you clipped it to your thigh holster. The blaster also had a grapple attachment to it, which could help you scale the walls of the city to get inside.
Finally you pulled on a dark blue poncho, which hid your lightsaber successfully, and left it easy to grab just in case. You walked out of your room and said your goodbyes to your men before making your way into the desert where you pulled your hood up. “Wait General!” One of your men called, and you turned around, seeing a shiny pull up on an operational sand speeder. “Thought you could use this.” He grinned, getting off of the speeder.
You smiled and patted his shoulder. “Thank you…” You trailed off, hinting for him to give you his name. “O-oh! My name is Pincer.” He answered, nervous as he spoke. You smiled, getting onto the speeder as you nodded to him. “Thank you Pincer, now go join your brothers in the medical bay.” You ordered, watching as he nodded and ran back into the cruiser.
You pulled up your hood, using little clips you had in your pocket to keep it attached to your head so it wouldn’t fly off in the wind. You slid a pair of goggles you had in your room over your eyes, and you revved the engine before speeding off.
You knew Cryt, the lethal sands that could shred your skin, the cannibalistic vultures that circled overhead. It was your birth planet after all.
You sped through the crystalline desert, kicking up the sand which gave you a bit of cover as you reached the edges of the city. You scoped out the walls, searching for an access point. When you saw one, you sped closer before shooting your grapple upwards. You made sure nobody was looking before pulling yourself up, quickly scaling the wall until you pulled yourself up.
You avoided some patrolling droids, and found a staircase leading down. You took it, eventually finding yourself inside the city walls. You stuck to the shadows until you reached what looked to be a market area. The city felt familiar, but you had only been a baby when you were taken from here and raised in the Jedi Temple.
You visited a couple times before it got too dangerous when the separatists took over and the government became corrupt. It was a sad fact, but one you had accepted quickly.
You knew you had to get to a place where you could connect your com to a terminal and boost your signal in order to contact the jedi temple, and the only place you knew was the most popular and only bar in the city.
So you started making your way there, keeping yourself close to the shadows or the walls if possible… Until several loud explosions rang out through the center yard of the city. You heard screaming, and you looked up to see the droid facility being torn apart from the inside out. But that explosion had caused a chain reaction, and caused some construction towers to start falling.
You saw a group of kids running away, but the tower was getting closer and closer.
So you ran forward, extending your hand for just a brief moment as you suspended the tower, and grabbed the kids before moving out of the way, letting the tower fall down. “Are you okay?” You asked the young kids, who nodded to you in fascination. “Are you a-”
“Shh young ones, how about we keep that our little secret hm? i wont tell if you don’t” You whispered, offering the kids a warm smile and a couple credits from your belt as they nodded and ran off.
You sighed, standing and looking around before heading back to the sidelines. You might’ve just blown your cover, but for now you were in the clear.
Until you passed an alleyway, and hands reached from the shadows, one wrapping around your mouth while the other grabbed your waist and yanked you into the dark alley.
You grunted, immediately struggling against the figure. You elbowed him, wincing when you hit sturdy armor, however you elbowed him again, this time lower, which allowed you to make contact with an unarmored portion of that man. You did it a few more times before biting the man's hand.
“Ouch! fuck-” He cursed, but you weren’t done. You grabbed his wrist, and you twisted it, using your leverage as you swung him around, stepping behind him before kicking his knees, sending him to the ground.
You still had your grip on his arm, and had him pinned to the ground while twisting his arm, hearing him hiss.
“Okay okay! stop!” The man exclaimed, but you kept him under you. “I would let him go…” ANother voice hissed, and you saw a flash of a sniper scope above you. You then heard a pair of footsteps, heavy, behind you… and in front of you emerged another man, the shadows keeping him mostly obscured.
You stared down at the man below you, studying his armor… which was very clone like in the way it was designed. You then noticed the 99 printed on the man’s shoulder pauldron, and recounted the men surrounding you.
four.
99…
clone armor…
it clicked in your mind, and you released the man below you before standing up, glancing behind you as a large man stepped closer. You turned to the man you previously had pinned down, and he had just removed his helmet and stepped into the dim light of that alley.
He had a half skull tattoo, and a red bandana with a skull on it, keeping his longer hair out of his face. You narrowed your eyes for a moment before extending your hand, using the force to remove all their blasters, throwing them to the ground.
“Clone force 99, correct?” You asked, lowering the hood from your head, fixing your hair, moving the giggles to sit above your forehead. “You know us?” The man from behind you spoke up, slightly louder than he should have been.
“How could she not? she is clearly a Jedi.” The man behind the skull face spoke up, now beside the man with a datapad in his hands. “I am, but I'd like it if you shut up.” You growled, poking your head out of the alley for a moment before turning back to the man. “Were those explosions you?” You asked, and The man nodded.
“Yes, we were sent here to covertly destroy the droid factory so that the 212th could gain control of the city. it wasn’t ready yet, but then we saw a jedi cruiser falling from the sky.” The man explained, and he extended his hand to you. “I’m Sergeant Hunter, beside me is Tech, behind you is Wrecker, and above us is our sniper, Crosshair.” He introduced, and you nodded briefly.
“That’s great. I need to contact General kenobi. A lot of my men are injured. We were on our way from Alberon when an exterior explosion on our engines caused us to exit hyperspace, then we were attacked and had to crashland here. I need an emergency pickup.” You huffed, adjusting your poncho.
“Your explosion almost hurt a group of kids. I could have blown my cover and im sure pretty soon there will be droids fucking us in our asses if we don’t find somewhere to lay low.” You hissed, your language causing the sniper above you to snort. Hunter raised his eyebrow, but nodded. “Fine. We will follow you, and help you contact Kenobi.” Hunter stated, not sounding super thrilled but you didn’t care.
You lead the four enhanced clones through the alleyways until you reach the back entrance of what seemed to be an abandoned home. But you knew better. Last time you were here you were only a teenager. You remember begging your master to let you visit your family until he finally caved in and brought you.
This was your mother’s home.
You used the force to unlock the door, pushing it open with a grunt as you led them inside. It was dark, and dusty, but you brought them up to what seemed to be a living area. Everything was tossed or strewn aside like the place was searched. You frowned, but continued searching for something to boost the signal of your or Hunter’s com device.
Eventually you found a terminal, and you opened up the wiring panel. You took your commlink and you attached it to some wires before turning it on. While you worked on that, Hunter was trying to contact Kenobi as well, his brothers looking at you, before looking at Hunter and then back at you.
They were still very on edge around you, you may have been a jedi but they didn’t trust easily. Just then you got a com from Kasey, and you quickly answered it.
It was glitchy, but on the hologram you could see Kasey firing at something. “general! droid… ambush… backup!” Kasey exclaimed, his voice cutting in and out of the transmission. You growled, trying to patch the connection through. “Just hold on Kasey! don’t back down. Keep your vod safe!” You exclaimed, the transmission cutting before you could say anything else.
You groaned, clenching your hands into fists before taking a deep breath, Tech then walked over to you, kneeling down beside you, wordlessly helping you rewire the terminal, and soon You and Tech successfully boosted the signal, hooking up their comms to contact General Kenobi. Hunter spoke up first, explaining that some complications arose before you stepped forward.
“General L/n? what are you doing on Cryt?” He asked, a soft laugh leaving your lips. “Not such a funny story, Master Kenobi. Myself and my battalion were on our way to the outer rim medical center after the battle of Alberon when one of our engines detonated and we were pulled out of hyperspace. We were attacked, and had to crash land here. I came to the city to find a way to contact the Jedi temple when I ran into Clone Force 99. and now we’re here.” You explained, trying to keep the explanation brief.
“If you can, can you request additional backup? droid’s are attacking my men and I need to get back to them before they get killed. My cruiser is inoperable.” You explained, seeing Kenobi talking with someone else for a moment before he nodded to you. “We will be arriving shortly with a fleet. We will send some gunships down to collect you and your men. Perhaps you could aid us in taking back your home>” Kenobi asked, and you nodded.
“I'll do whatever you command, General, just help my vod- my men.” You quickly corrected yourself. Kenobi nodded and the transmission ended. You sighed, rubbing your face before turning to look at Hunter.
“Thank you.” You muttered, Hunter nodded and walked away, talking with his brothers as you gathered yourself, ready to leave before you felt a hand wrap around yours. “We did our part for Kenobi, we’ll go back with you to help your men.” Hunter stated.
Your eyes widened, and you shook your head in disbelief. Why would you do that?” You asked, hearing the man chuckle. “Because you are the only general I've heard of that has willingly learned our language, and then called your men your brothers. So we will help you. even if they are regs.” Hunter explained.
You stared at him for a few seconds before nodding. “Prepare for one hell of a fight.” You muttered, running out of your childhood home and out to the streets where droids were already patrolling.
You grabbed your lightsaber from your back and ignited it. The blade glowed orange which surprised The Bad Batch. They had never seen an orange lightsaber before. But what was unique about your saber, was that it had a crossguard, with smaller lazers escaping from the sides.
Your muscles flexed as you swung your blade forward, slicing through a patrolling vulture droid. You jumped from his leg, spinning as you cleaved a rolling droideka in two pieces, before blocking several blaster shots that came at you. But then you unlinked something on your holster, and a smaller saber disconnected from the crossguard saber which was still ignited.
You ignited a small orange lightsaber in your left hand, and started dual wielding, slicing through droids. “She’s a force to be reckoned with.” Crosshair muttered to Hunter, shooting a couple of droids that you had left behind. “I like her!” Wrecker exclaimed, rushing to help you as you both smashed through some droids, paving your way to the exit. Hunter, Tech and Crosshair followed close behind, shooting or knifing down any droids that your lightsaber’s didn’t cut through.
Hunter watched you, watched the sweat dripping from your brow as you skillfully swung your blades before attaching them together again, however this time, instead of just a single blade you had switched your stance to a dual blade. Now that was unique.
You were strong, that was clear. Unlike most of the jedi he had seen, you actually had muscle on your arms. You were heavy in your swings too but you left no room open for weakness. You used your body mass to your advantage to flip and swing over droids.
And soon you and the batch were on speeders, and heading towards your crashed ship which was already under heavy fire. But just as you arrived, so did the republic gunships and fighters. You commed Kasey, who picked up after a few buzzes. “Lieutenant just hold on! we’re almost there and reinforcements have arrived!” You exclaimed, igniting your lightsaber whilst on the speeder as you wiped out several droids in one pass. You then jumped off the speeder, force jumping again while mid air as you landed on a vulture droid.
You plunged your blade into its head, jumping off and landing back onto the ground. The Bad Batch managed to keep up with your speed, following you inside the crashed vessel, cutting through droids until you reached the med hanger. “Kasey!” You called out, the blades of your saber shutting off as you clipped it back to your belt, inhaling with relief when Kasey’s head poke out from behind a barricade, Kobo right behind him.
“Hey General! right on time for the fun.” Kasey beamed, and you chuckled as he turned to look at Hunter and his brothers. “Who are they?” Kasey asked, and you grinned. “This is the elite Clone Force 99. They’re helping take back Cryt.” You explained, hopping over the barricades. “Is Pulse okay?” You asked, looking around the med bay but not seeing him.
“Feeling good as ever, General.” His voice carried out, and Hunter saw your face brighten up significantly… he almost felt… jealous… But he couldn’t think like that, he barely knew you!
But regardless he watched as you embraced your commander in a hug for a few moments before pulling away, smacking him on the back of his head. “You di’kut! you’re supposed to be resting your leg!” You exclaimed, the men around you laughing at your exchange.
Eventually you turned back to Hunter, nodding. “I'll be sending my men up with the gunships once they land, But i’ll stick with you if that's okay.” You started, walking over to him. “Of course it's okay- i mean yea- its uh- its fine.” He cleared his throat, looking away from you.
Wrecker gasped. “Hunter’s got a crush~” He sang, and your face lit up, almost the color of your lightsaber. “Shut it Wrecker!” Hunter exclaimed, glancing back at you. You offered him a light smile, and he started blushing in return.
damnit.
He kind of zoned out after that, you were so close and he could smell your natural perfume, which smelled of smokey vanilla and baking smells, along with the smell of your sweat… It's only been two or so hours since he met you and already he felt like a horny cadet all over again after seeing some pretty Jedi for the first time.
But he noticed the way your eyes brightened every time you spoke to your men, especially your commander and lieutenant, he saw the way your lips curled up slightly before you laughed or smiled wider. He admired the way you moved, you were walking with purpose, but at the same time you were so graceful.
Wrecker was right.
fuck.
But he couldn’t stop looking at you, even in the midst of battle when you were on the frontlines with them, fighting separatists to free the people of your home world, he studied you, seeing you laugh, or grunt at every droid you slaughtered.
He thought you were gorgeous.
Even if you were covered in oil and dirt, and your hair was sticking to your face because of the sweat that dripped down your skin, you were still gorgeous.
At the end of battle, he noticed your afterglow, the way you smiled while talking with Kenobi, securing the peace of your planet.
Hunter's lips parted when you turned to look at him, he didn’t even realize you had walked up to him and started talking until Crosshair elbowed him in the ribs.
He snapped back to the present, trying to compose himself as you stared. “what? sorry-” He choked out, and hearing you laugh nearly made his knees give out.
“I said, while my men are healing, and are given a much needed break, I will be working alongside your squad, as long as it’s okay with you, sergeant.” You explained again, holding your hands behind your back as you stared right into his eyes.
he gulped.
he was in for it now.
-
You were on one of the Jedi cruisers now, having just showered and dressed into your under robes when you had bumped into Hunter in the hall. One minute you were talking, laughing… Then the next you were in your temporary quarters, and Hunter was kissing you, his hands sliding up your robes to lay flat against your warm skin.
Tongues and teeth clashed together, but you didn’t care, you didn’t want that moment to ever end.
And you fought beside Hunter for months after that, but you had a routine. After every mission you’d release all that passion with each other. And even when you went back to Coruscant, and was placed back with your squad, you found yourself partnering with The Bad Batch a lot more, and even when you couldn’t you’d find him on Coruscant.
So much passion, and love… And you shared it with him. Every piece of your heart you shared with him, just as he did with his own.
Nobody but your closest knew, and of course Hunter’s brothers knew. But your relationship was extremely confidential. Pulse understood, as did Koba and Kasey. They wouldn’t tell a soul.
And you were so grateful.
★Epilogue★
Order 66 killed so many, ruined so many lives. And had almost got you if you weren't able to remove the chips of your three most Loyal. You were able to hide with them, and escape from the growing Empire. Pulse, Koda and Kasey had felt so guilty, knowing the people you were raised with were probably slaughtered, and your battalion, you couldn’t save them all and it wore down heavily.
You hadn’t had any contact from Hunter, and you were scared to even reach out. Instead you reached out to an old Jedi contact, Cid, and you made your way to Ord Mantell with your remaining men. You had acquired (stolen) a ship from some pirates to actually get you there. But as soon as you stepped into Cid’s parlor, you sensed a familiar presence.
Your eyes searched the parlor, until you landed on a slightly hidden group in one of the back booths. You narrowed your eyes, and turned to your men who were looking at you curiously. “Guard the door.” You muttered, and started walking over to the booth…
You nearly choked, eyes widening as you saw none other than Hunter, and his brothers Tech and Wrecker and… another, one you didn’t recognize. But no Crosshair… and there was a girl, blonde with brown eyes.
When Hunter turned to look at you, he almost had the same reaction you did. You were both frozen as you looked at each other, But as quickly as it happened it was over, and not only was Hunter embracing you, so was Wrecker and even Tech.
You held them all tightly, tears beginning to fall from your cheeks, allowing Tech and Wrecker to pull away as you just focused on Hunter now, pressing your lips to his in a passionate, relieving kiss.
You pulled away again, sliding your fingers through his hair. “I thought-” he choked out, and you nodded. “I’m not, and you aren't either.” You whispered, kissing his cheek and then his lips again for a moment before pulling away when you heard the clone you didn’t know clear his throat. “Oh yes- hi.” You greeted the stranger, introducing yourself as you waved your men over.
It was a huge reunion, and that night you and Hunter shared a bed on your ship while his brothers and your men shared drinks and stories at Cid’s bar. But Hunter just held you as you cried. He was crying too, but more in relief that you were alive, and his arms.
he wouldn’t let you go again, and you wouldn’t either.

Today's Survivor request is for @noire610 - Don't go.
Cere is the first to leave. Cal can barely look at her, his anger, his disappointment, choking him into silence. He finds her in her cabin, packing up her belongings. Well, she’s missing one, and he holds it out to her; her lightsaber hilt, his crystal removed from it.
She takes it, as mute as he is. He’s not sure what the gesture truly means.
It’s yours, it belongs with you, take it back. It feels right.
I can make my own lightsaber. I’ll find my own way without you.
Thank you, Cere, for everything.
Cere shoulders her pack and heads for the exit. Her final words?
“Be safe, all of you.”
Greez sobs.
Merrin returns her well wishes.
BD accepts a final pat on the head.
Cal says nothing.
Don’t go.
He can’t say it. He’s not sure he means it.
(He does. He does mean it. Don’t go, Cere. Don’t leave – )
Merrin is the next to leave. Like Cere, she takes everything she has, packing it all into a backpack she shoulders without complaint. She gives Greez a hug, accepts one from BD, and takes one of Cal’s hands in her own.
“I will see you again,” she tells him.
Don’t go.
“Yeah,” he says, his voice so harsh he’ll be lucky if Merrin ever looks his way again, let alone speaks to him. “Be safe.”
He can sense her need to say more, a need maybe to explain herself, but even if she screamed it directly into his ears, he wouldn’t be able to understand it.
Don’t go.
They drop her off on Ord Mantell. She doesn’t look back, and Cal doesn’t watch her go.
It’s no surprise when Greez says he’s going too, it’s too much for him, he’s lost his touch, literally, and all this flying from one warzone to the next isn’t doing him any good. He tells Cal to leave him on Nar Shaddaa, he’ll figure it out from there, and yeah, kid, the Mantis is yours, take care of her until I ask for her back, because she’s still mine, don’t you forget it, and by the way –
Don’t go.
But Greez goes too. He goes, and then it’s just Cal, BD, and the Mantis. It’s too big for the two of them. It doesn’t matter than Cal can walk around barefoot or leave dirty plates, cups and spoons all over the galley without reprimand. It doesn’t matter that he can leave laundry wherever he wants. It doesn’t matter if he fails to wipe down the decks. Who cares if he takes caf into the cockpit? No one’s there to yell at him.
Don’t go.
Don’t leave me.
Don’t leave me with all your echoes.
Greez in the cockpit, checking landing coordinates.
Cere, reading in the lounge.
Merrin, making potions in the galley.
All three of them, living ghosts all over the ship.
He sits in the pilot’s seat, adjusted for his height and number of arms, staring out at space, BD beside him on the dash. He swallows, throat dry, belly empty because he’s forgotten to eat. He’s forgotten a lot of things, including how long he’s been staring out at the stars.
Alone, again.
Adrift, again.
“BD?”
BD looks over.
“If you’re waiting for the time to tell me you’re going to, this would be it.”
Outraged, BD squawks and launches himself into Cal’s arms. He’s not going anywhere. Where Cal goes, BD goes.
“You’re sure?” Cal hears a crack in his voice.
Sure? Is he sure? BD thumps his head against Cal’s chest.
“Thanks, buddy. For everything.”
BD suggests they get back to the mission, after Cal’s had some dinner.
“You up for it?”
Of course BD’s up for it! “Great, because I know where Saw Gerrera’s at, and he’ll have a mission for us.”

Ninjago Star Wars Au species list
I will not debate anyone over these
Starting up:
Jay, half human, half twi'lek, his mother is the twi'lek. When he was born he was shipped to the Huts on Tatooine but his little carriage pod dropped and was picked up by Jawas. He has mechanical wings he made himself and specializes in marketing for the Jawas because he's adorable
Force sensitive
Ed and Edna: Jawas who find Jay are the main ones who raise him but I'm fairly certain jawas take the whole village approach.
Cole: Togurta. Togurta's are very strong and agile but people always seem surprised when they actually show case their strength. This seemed very fitting for Cole.
Force sensitive
Kai and Nya: human nautolan hybrids but it has been so long since the nautolan was introduced they don't have many traits other than large dark eyes and Nya is able to breathe under water. (They don't know its nautolan, which is kit fistos species for those who don't know)
Force sensitive
Nya is stronger in the force but she uses chants to help her focus (like the og dathomirian witches)
Zane: zane is a kyber crystal powering a droid. He more specifically the crystal then the body because kyber crystals are sentient
Force sensitive
Pixal: same deal as zane but her crystal faced torture (from the mining process) zane heals her later but she still struggles (fun fact ahsoka's kyber crystals were corrupted and tortured but she rescued and healed them and that is why they are white)
Force sensitive can only manipulate it through the dark side
Garmadon and Wu: Diathim (also referred to as angels) and part zabrak (i went back and forth on that because beskalisks have four arms but then I drew it and just fit well for them) angels are considered the most beautiful creatures while zebraks tend to be considered evil. Both are capable of good and evil.
Very force sensitive
Garmadon isn't strictly a sith. More of just acts as he sees is needed. He does tend to use the dark side a lot though
Garmadon is missing his lower wings and has mutated arms with cyber supports
Misako: Chiss, intellectual tend to try to logic their emotions away (think a blue spock) the Diathim have prophecies. She wanted to study them. She and Garmadon fall in love
Lloyd: Diathim, zabrak and chiss. Very tall. Blue skin, red eyes, has all of his wings but also has a set of lower arms that do not have cyber supports.
Force sensitive, just dripping midiclorians to the point he boosts the sensitivity of those he is around
Struggles with acting in anger and will accidentally hurt his lightsabers original kyber crystals that he will wear on a necklace and pours into whenever he meditates
Rei: human, mandalorian black smith
Force sensitive
Maya: human nautolan hybrid also unaware of the nautolan she just thinks it's the force she is trained like the og dathomirian witches
Force sensitive
Lily: Togruta
Force sensitive
Lou: Togruta dancer and singer, gets paid for it
Harumi: human, not force sensitive but will later inject midiclorians to try be able to use the force and will become dependent on them
Cyrus: human, tries to create kyber crystal droids like zane but the mining process corrupted all of them including the prosthetics he tried to make that were powered by crystals. He chooses to be wheel chair bound after the incident but he is ambulatory with regular prosthetics he just finds it exhausting
Morro: zabrak, becomes a malevolent ghost but will later settle down into a regular force ghost who follows wu around
Force sensitive
Serpentine: sub species of hutt. Made them native to dathomir and the moons
Let me know who else you want to know
You will for sure get art of Garmadon. We will see about the others

The Gathering 1/4: “Cold”
Tumblr media
——————
Summary: A group of Jedi Younglings begin their journey to find their Kyber Crystals.
Word Count: 1749
Authors Note: Just a lil silly story with my ocs lol!! (also including my friends ocs :] )
——————
-28 BBY, Ilum -
“[I’m cold…]” Yaupé grumbled quietly. Well. As quiet as a wookiee could be. Which wasn’t very quiet at all. He was loud, in fact. Very loud.
“YOU’RE cold??” Cara whispered harshly, turning to her best friend, “You? The wookiee?”
“[Wookiees can get cold!]”
“Can not! You guys have all that fur!”
“[Uh! can too! Even with all this fur!]”
The two glared at one another. Of course, Cara knew wookiees were capable of getting cold. Heck, Yaupé was right here, buuuut… she couldn’t help messing with him. It was too much fun.
“Can not!”
“[Can too!!]”
“Can not!”
“[Can t—!!!]”
“Yaupé! Cara!” Master Yoda’s voiced called onto the two youngling. The two slowly turned their heads towards the Jedi Grand Master as their eyes opened wide. “Have something to say the two of you do? Hm?” He asked. It was easy to tell from the short green aliens tone that he was definitely annoyed at the two, which suprisingly wasn’t a rare occurance for them. By this point, everyone in the room had their eyes on them awaiting their response.
Kriff. This wasn’t good. They didn’t just interrupt a speech. They interrupted a MASTER YODA speech; meaning they could either be in for a long and boring lecture after this, OR he was totally gonna quiz them right now if they tried lying by saying they were paying attention—which they were’nt, so that could go equally as bad and earn them a lecture regardless.
The two younglings shot quick worried glances at one another before their eyes landed back on Master Yoda. Fearing the lecture, Cara quickly bowed apologetically, being as ‘Jedi-like’ as possible, “Apologies, Master Yoda, It won’t happen again!!”
Yaupé looked at the human girl, before following her lead, doing the same.
“[Yeah! Sorry, Master, we promise it won’t happen again!!!]”
“Hmm…” Master Yoda grumbled, pinching the bridge of his nose. He could hear the other younglings snickering at the human and the wookiee. At least they apologized though. That was something. “Saying, I was…” The old master sighed, starting again, “To protect others, how does a Jedi? Hmm?”. He looked around, making sure that all the younglings were really paying attention, before pulling out his lightsaber, igniting it, its green light bouncing off his olive green skin and reflecting off the ice and snow.
“The lightsaber.” He answered. “Build your own lightsabers in time, you will, but first, harvest your own crystal you must.”
The group of younglings all murmered to one another in excitement, expressing their clear enthusiasm with “No way!!”’s and “Heck yeah!”’s, along with two younglings who whispered; ‘Called it!’ and ‘No you didn’t, nerf-for brains!’. Master Yoda couldn’t help but smirk. If they were’nt listening before, they sure were now.
“The heart of a lightsaber, the Kyber Crystal is.” Master Yoda continued. “Focuses the Force from the Jedi it does…” He said, before raising his hands hand towards the sky. Master Yoda closed his eyes gently, focusing as he used the Force to open a window within the temple. When opened, a beam of light was shot from the outside into a crystalized contraption, hanging overhead, that reflected that beam into the tall icey doorway in front of the group, melting it all in seconds, and exposing the entrance to the caves where the younglings are to go for their crystals.
“If Jedi you are to become, enter the crystal cave you must.” Master Yoda started again, looking at each of the younglings. “Trust yourselves. Trust eachother, and succeed you will.”
~
As the water from the melted door cleared, the younglings stood by the entrance to the ice caves, listening to the instructions of Padawan Leonie as she explained the do’s and don’t’s for the ice caves. Everyone seemed to be paying much more attention to her than they did to Master Yoda during the beggining part of his speech.
“—Oh! And one last thing;” She said. “Once you find your crystals, DO NOT remain inside the caves. As soon as daylight ends, the door will freeze over once again and you WILL be trapped inside…”
As soon as she said that, everyone looked at one another, making sure they all heard the same thing. “Uhh… I have a question?” Tomar announced, raising a hand, instantly catching the padawans attention. “How long would we be trapped for?”
“One rotation.”
It took a moment for the group to process what Leonie had just said, before-
“One rotation???” Everyone called out in unison. One rotation? here?? Their hearts sank just at the thought of it… staying in some old and creepy ice temple on some snow planet for the night???
“Yes. One rotation.” Leonie confirmed. “Now… that’s everything! Wishing you all the best of luck!!” She concluded with a cheery smile and a supportive thumbs up towards the group.
“Huh? wait, but-??” Khad’ started speaking.
“No ‘but’s’! Now go! Hurry before the door starts reforming!” She rushed, her hands doing a ‘shooing’ motion towards them. The group all shot frantic glances at one another before they rushed into the ice caves, finally starting their journey to get their Kyber Crystals.
~
Inside the Ilum temples ice caves, all that could be heard were the footsteps of the Jedi younglings as they moved along, their boots crunching at the snow beneath them, as well as the sound of crackling ice every so often. It was cold. Dark, and almost creepy with all the old frozen-over architecture among the cave walls. It was also kinda hard to walk, the floor was super slippery. Nevertheless, the younglings persisted.
Everyone, for the most part, was quiet, their thoughts mostly caught up on the whole ‘door freezing over’ bit that Leonie talked about and silently hoping to the Force that they find their crystals in time before that happened.
“So…” Tomar started, breaking the long moment of silence and catching everyones attention. “Out of everyone here, who’s more likely to get trapped inside the caves?”. It was typical of Tomar to try and bring some humor or ‘what if’ scenario into a situation, but, it lightened the mood so everyone was welcome to it. Everyone answered with the first person that came to their mind;
“Khad’.” Said Cara.
"[Khad’.]” Said Yaupé.
“Khad’.” Said Eyre.
They all looked towards Aras, who signed ‘Khad’’.
“WHAT!! WHY ME??” Khad’ shouted, his voice bouncing across the cave walls.
“Ehh… you just seem like the type to get stuck in an ice cave for a day.” Cara shrugged, a smirk plastered across her face.
Everyone seemed to nod along in agreement to Cara, leaving Khad’ dumbfounded.
“Well— she’s not wrong.” Tomar snickered.
“Shut up!! Kriff you guys!! If I get stuck here I hope you all get stuck here with me!!”
Seeing the twi’lek’s over-the-top reaction made the rest of the younglings howl in laughter, their snorts, snickers and roars echoeing across the cave walls, much to Khad’s annoyance. After walking further into the cave and getting a few more giggles out, the laughter soon vanished as the group approached what seemed to be the caves first obstacle for them. Before them lied three different openings within the cave. Peering into each one, they all seemed to look the exact same; long, dark and icey tunnels that the younglings could only assume lead right into the path to find their crystals. But… there were 6 of them and 3 tunnels. How were they going to go about this?
“Sooooo… what now?” Eyre spoke after a moment of everyone just standing there.
“[Hmm…]” Yaupé scratched his chin fur as he thought about what next step they could all take. There were three caves so, naturally, splitting up would be the best option right?Wait… no. No, they can’t split up! They could get lost- HE could get lost or hurt or WORSE!! And to add to that, none of them really knew what dangers they could even face in these caves! The more he thought about it, the more he just didn’t wanna risk it. “[Maybe… we should try sticking toge-]”
“We should split up!” Khad’ declared. Everyones eyes turned to the twi’lek. “Hear me out! See, there’s six of us and three caves, we can just split up and go into one of em with a partner!” Khad’ explained. “Then BAM! We find our crystals and make our cool and awesome sabers, easy peasy!!”
“That could work!” Cara agreed. Everyone in the group seemed to take a liking to the idea. Which was suprising cause it was a Khad’ idea. But a good one nevertheless. They almost felt bad for clowning on him earlier. Almost. “Heck yeah it will!!” Khad’ babbled eagerly, mostly just happy at the fact that his friends liked an idea of his. “Say, Aras, wanna be my partner?” He asked, nudging the Togruta by the arm. Aras smiled nodding their head ‘yes’ as Khad’ cheered, “Alright!! C’mon!” as he grabbed their hand, pulling them along into the one of the three tunnels in front of them.
“[Wait! But—!”]
“Hey, Eyre, wanna-”
“HECK YEAH!! Let’s go!!” Eyre didn’t even let Tomar finish asking them before they grabbed his arm and practically dragged him into the second cave that was in front of them. “Later losers!!!” Eyre’s voice called out, their voice echoeing through the caves walls. “Hey!! Waitwaitwaitwait!!!, slow down!!” Echoed Tomar’s voice behind them, going further and further into the tunnel, away from Cara and Yaupé.
Yaupé could only make a low grunting sound as he watched what just unfolded in front of him.
“Well…” Cara began, “Can’t blame ya for trying to keep everyone together.” She snickered. Yaupé couldn’t help but snicker along with her. Cara’s energy was just contagious like that.
“Sooo… any chance you wanna be my partner? By default?” She asked.
“[Hmm…]” Yaupé pretended to think, putting a hand to his chin. “[Ehh… I dunno if you’re cool enough to be my partner…]”
Cara fake-scoffed, playfully hitting Yaupé on the arm, “Shut up!” She chuckled, immedietly making the both of them giggle.
“We should get going—I wanna get my crystal before they do!” Cara half-joked, tapping at the wookiee.
“[Mm!]” Yaupé nodded with a newfound spark of confidence. With Cara by his side, he knew that the two of them could get through anything this cave had to throw at them! And with that, and a quick “C’mon!” from Cara, the two started into the third and last tunnel in front of them.

I’m pretty sure Sion is a tactical genius on Revan’s level, but none of us ever realized it. For example, at the Trayus Academy, he spread out all his minions into fifty little groups and included just enough useful equipment drops compelling me to search every corner and loot every body until I’m dead from boredom before reaching his boss fight. Seeing another long hallway filled with assassin squads came closer to breaking my spirit than any of Kreia’s bullshit because there’s definitely a good lightsaber crystal at the end and I need to go get it.

I have a problem with the Ahsoka series...
As someone who didn't watch Rebels and just getting back to Star Wars after being out of the fandom, episode 5 left me kinda flat...
WARNING: SPOILERS TO JEDI FALLEN ORDER AND AHSOKA EPISODE 5
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyone who plays Jedi Fallen Order will immediately realize that the scene is a mirror of Cal and Jaro's 2nd vision duel. In fact, there were major Fallen Order vibes all throughout this episode and other episodes including all that psychometry (which Ahsoka has never demonstrated before this series but hey... the power of retcon compelled Dave Filoni).
But why did Ahsoka vs Anakin feel so flat for me? What should have been an emotional scene didn't hit me with the same feels that Fallen Order did.
And I got to thinking...
In Fallen Order, we first meet Cal and from the get-go we understand that this is a kid who's had to live on his own for a long time. He doesn't really think that much of himself--as evident by his "Trash, just not approved trash" comment.
Fallen Order and Survivor have been brilliant, character-driven games that really delved into issues of trauma, survivor's guilt, PTSD, insecurity, and loss of self-worth.
We learn that Cal survived Order 66 when he was just 13.
youtube
And that his master sacrificed his life to save him. And we soon realize that Cal has remained trapped--emotionally and psychologically--that day he escaped clutching his fallen master's lightsaber in fear and helplessness. The fear became a means to survive--a coping mechanism.
When Cal first meets a vision of his master, Jaro Tapal, it's on Dathomir. The vault is booby trapped to test anyone who dare enter. He's faced with a vision of his fallen master and is overwhelmed with his own failures and breaks his lightsaber.
youtube
Through Cere's urging and guidance, Cal travels to Ilum to retrieve his crystal and rebuild his lightsaber.
youtube
There, he is tested and he faces his failures and shortcomings. He learns to forgive himself and face the past head on. He returns to Dathomir and back to face his master.
youtube
What was the lesson in Cal facing Jaro? The lesson was forgiving himself of what happened. Of learning to trust that 13-yr-old child within. Jaro's sacrifice will always be a part of him but he also needs to move forward with the lessons he's learned. As long as Cal is alive, he has a choice to keep fighting--"Hold the line, and trust only in the Force."
It's a classic heroes journey.
The Anakin vs Ahsoka scene is similar in a lot of ways. But I found myself not having the same reaction.
If I watch that Fallen Order scene, I'm always moved to tears because in the hours I spent playing as him, I lived all of his failures, his fears, his emotions--I was Cal Kestis. I was that 13-yr old boy who emotionally shut down to the point that he lost his connection to the Force.
Fallen Order took the time to establish that Cal had been dealing with the guilt of not doing enough to save his master for the last 5 years. It took the time to lay the groundwork so the emotional beats really hit you in the feels in moments when they should.
My problem with the Ahsoka series is it breaks a fundamental rule in storytelling--Don't assume anything about your audience. A good chunk of that audience never saw Rebels. So, a good chunk of us were asking ourselves, "huh, so what exactly was the lesson here?"
In Ahsoka, we're never shown what her attachments to Anakin are. Is she a Padawan feeling abandoned by her master? Does she feel betrayed? What exactly is that baggage that she needs to move on from?
We get none of that because the series doesn't do enough character work to make her struggles known to the audience beforehand. Unless you watched Rebels, you'd have no clue nor feel the significance of the scene. What we get is her looking forlorn at any mention of Anakin. They just expect us to understand that she has unfinished business with him. What that is... it's never clear in the dialogue. So when we have a vision of her facing her master, it doesn't have the same emotional punch in the feels that Fallen Order has (unless you saw the animated series).
So her lesson was to live? Did we see her struggling with her purpose before this scene? No. Did we see her doubt herself and her place in the Order (in or out of it)? No. Do we see her still yearn for the past and what would have been her place in the Order but struggle with their betrayal? No. The message is jumbled, the lesson is vague because the show didn't do the work it needed to to earn that emotional payoff.
The one thing I loved was the visuals. Cinematography in this episode was breathtaking but it sacrifices storytelling over fan service and nostalgia.
Collider put it bluntly, "Ahsoka’s “training” stands in the place of actual storytelling. By driving Ahsoka and Anakin straight into a duel, we’re robbed of dialogue and character moments that could heighten the story that Filoni is attempting to tell. Filoni mistakenly believes that what audiences have been longing for is another poorly lit lightsaber duel — only this time between Anakin and Ahsoka — but that isn’t what anyone has been pining for. Especially not casual fans who know who Anakin is, but have no concept of why this duel with Ahsoka should matter to them... Star Wars is more than just lightsaber duels and resurrecting the Skywalkers for drama. It’s about the connections forged between the characters who are thrown into situations, cast against the backdrop of a galaxy at war, both seen and unseen. Those connections feel hollow when left to molder in the shadow of nostalgia."
Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor work from a storytelling perspective because they made us care about these characters. They built connections to Cere, to Jaro, to BD-1 and the rest of the Mantis crew and how they play a significant part in Cal's growth as a person and Jedi. And likewise, how Cal plays a part in each character's journey to self-actualization.
The more I think about the episode 5 scene the more pointless it felt (for lack of a better word) because this happens 5 years after Return of the Jedi... the part where Anakin was saved by Luke. She's also met and spoken to Luke so would know that Anakin was saved in the end.
So unless this is just Ahsoka sorting out her own issues of abandonment or whatever inside her head... it doesn't make sense for Anakin or the overall story. He was already saved. He went back to the light side after defeating Palpatine. Luke was able to do what no one else did. Or did she resent that or hate herself that it wasn't her that brought him back to the light? The problem is the show doesn't make it clear what her attachments to Anakin are. If it had spared a few episodes looking back at her training, Anakin's betrayal and her feelings of abandonment, it would have felt like a more full circle moment. If the show had taken the time to portray her going about her life without reason or purpose, the lesson would have meant something. The dialogue doesn't do the visuals justice. It's purposely vague and cryptic because the show doesn't know what Ahsoka ought to be struggling with. She has baggage but what that is they don't even know. So the visuals try to cover for the lack of any compelling dialogue.
We didn't need a duel or callbacks to Vader or Rebels. What we needed was to see was the same Anakin at the end of Return of the Jedi-- the same Anakin that was saved and made whole. We needed a conversation, not cryptic lessons--a conversation about why he lost himself, Luke and Leia's place in his life and salvation, and a reassurance to Ahsoka that she couldn't have prevented his fall from grace because he made the choice to fall to the Dark Side. Anakin alone made the choice and paid for his sins. That conversation would have brought more closure than "I choose to live."
It felt like the writers went "This would be such a cool scene to have" and "What would happen to get there?" Rather than have everything matter and happen organically to the overall story. By doing that, Ahsoka suffers the same problems as the sequels.
Fan service should serve as a purpose to further enrich your story. And your story should be clear to everyone not just a niche of your audience. A good story, no matter how simple it is, should stand on its own merit. Good character work and set up matters.
Just my 2 cents.

Your life
Spin-off of Bare beskar. Yes, it’s just an excuse to write the walking armoury trope with Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan gets his first weapon at XX. His crèche clan goes to Ilum to find the crystals that will become the hearts of their lightsabers. He has trained with practice sabres before, but this is the first weapon that is his own. “The sabre is your life,” Master XX says. Obi-Wan nods, but he doesn’t yet really understand.
Shiv/shank at Bandomeer. The only thing between him and death, his sabre and the Force taken from him. He scrabbles and fights for his life and shanks an overseer during the slave uprising. The shank leaves Bandomeer in his boot. He sleeps with his sabre/the shank for months afterwards.
Rifle at Melida-Daan. Again without his sabre. The rifle is what stands between not only him and death, but between the Young and death. He learns that sometimes taking a life is the best—the only—option.
A knife somewhere. Where was he a slave again?
His body can be a weapon—he learns that after again being without any weapons. Other padawans sneak out of the temple to drink; Obi-Wan sneaks off to learn hand to hand. The temple teaches basics, but specialises in lightsaber combat. And Obi-Wan has learned that it is not just his lightsaber that is his life.
Blasters on Mandalore, where using a lightsaber would be counterproductive to staying under the radar. Armour from dead Death Watch.
He comes back a full circle with Maul, back to lightsaber. Or maybe this is the force? He loses a master and gains a padawan. Or maybe this is where he realises the effect of losing his master/partner after they have repaired their relationship? The difference between fighting alone and fighting with a partner/unit? Your men are your best weapons.
What about words, negotiation, diplomacy, favours, blackmail, contracts? Verbal judo. Or maybe this is purely about physical weapons.
He loses an gains and loses weapons over the years. He learns lessons. He learns which weapons to use when.
And maybe he’s a bad Jedi, but he never learns to let go these weapons that have been as much his life as his lightsaber. Or maybe he becomes to interpret “your life” to include all sorts of weapons, not just his lightsaber. Sort of this is who you are; everything you are is what you lay on the line for your mission.
And then he finds an army and the republic falls to war. And it’s total war again, so he brings every weapon he has ever collected… which ends up being a veritable armoury.
Omake
“There’s just a few more administrative details before . Your medical file?”
“I’ve sent the redacted version to CMO Bones in advance and I have the full file with me.”
“Good. You can pass it on to Bones when we swing by the medical bay.”
Cody meets General Kenobi and takes him on a tour around the Negotiator. This includes a stop by the quartermaster, who asks to inspect any weapons Kenobi has brought with him. It’s more out of following SOP (making sure they have clips and spare parts and whatnot the Jedi might require) than expecting the Jedi to have anything on him besides their lightsaber. Maybe he’s optimistically hoping he might be able to convince the Jedi to carry a backup weapon of some sort.
He’s not expecting the Jedi to swing the duffel bag he had been carrying on the counter, nor the bag to make such a heavy thunk (honestly, based on how easily the Jedi had been shouldering it, he had assumed it to be full of clothes). He’s definitely not expecting the armoury the Jedi starts pulling out of the bag.
There’s a XXZZ sniper rifle and clips, an old but serviceable model. It’s customised and based on the scuff marks, the rifle has clearly seen action but when he tests it, it seems to work smoothly and be well maintained. The next are a pair of XX blasters and their clips. Then there’s two vibroblades, a long dagger made out of beskar (or cortosis alloy?), a honest to god shiv that Kenobi pulls from his boot, a garrotte wire, lockpicks, . And then Kenobi starts pulling out a suit of beskar’gam.
The bag is practically empty; there’s only a few sets of rolled up clothes left. Huh.
“You know how to use these?”
“I wouldn’t be carrying them otherwise. I assure you, every weapon here has saved my life at least once.”
The troopers had been expecting a mystic; someone who slays their enemies with their sorcery. Kenobi, with his well-used rifle, scuffed armour and half a dozen holdout weapons, does not fit that picture. Cody is feeling more optimistic already.
Plus
- Obi-Wan’s habit of getting separated from his lightsaber wasn’t developed in a day/didn’t come out of nowhere

Sabine Wren's Lost Arc
I love Rebels, I do, but I swear I am never going to stop being angry about how Sabine's arc got so completely derailed in season 4 in favor of lifting up BO-KATAN KRYZE of all characters.
Rebels is very clearly setting up Sabine as the next leader of Mandalore in season 3. It's what introduces the Darksaber as a symbol of leadership in the first place and it does so by having SABINE pick it up from Maul and train with it and then win it in combat from another Mandalorian. There is no reason to do ANY OF THAT unless Sabine is intended to become a leader via the Darksaber itself.
Tumblr media
Look at this shot! Fenn Rau, Ezra Bridger, and Kanan Jarrus, all KNEELING TO HER. Kanan is kneeling mostly because she beat him in training rather than out of swearing allegiance, but both Fenn Rau and Ezra have just sworn to follow her. Kanan promises her that her family will back her up no matter what she chooses. Sabine sitting there HOLDING THE DARKSABER with two Jedi and a leader of a Mandalorian faction in his own right kneeling to her while swearing to follow her. There is NO WAY we aren't supposed to see Sabine as a future ruler.
Tumblr media
We didn't need the Darksaber in order to have Sabine deal with her arc about her family and her time in the Academy and why she left. There were plenty of ways and reasons to have had Sabine go back to Krownest to deal with that issue without ever bringing in the Darksaber and then declaring that wielding the Darksaber and winning it in combat specifically means having a claim to leadership over Mandalore. She claims not to be ready by the end of the arc, yes, but she also chooses to stay behind to help her family. It's the start of a new arc for Sabine, towards leadership after reclaiming her place in her family.
I've talked before about how Sabine is the ONLY person we ever see wielding the Darksaber who has legitimately earned it the JEDI way. She doesn't just win it in combat the way Mandalorians earn it. She trains in how to use it FROM ANOTHER JEDI and has to both acknowledge and then face her own worst fears first. She even acquires the Darksaber in a way reminiscent of how Jedi kids pick up their own kyber crystals: she goes into a cave and comes back out with a crystal that called to her (yes, she does things a little out of order and the crystal is already inside a hilt but it's a fun little parallel still). She even wins the Darksaber in combat specifically by using a Jedi lightsaber and then shows MERCY, a lesson she learned FROM THE JEDI WHO RAISED HER. Everyone else who has wielded it, up to and including Din Djarin, have only ever earned it the Mandalorian way via combat.
And that's specifically why Sabine makes such a good candidate to lead Mandalore. She's gone on an entire journey towards figuring out what it means to her to be Mandalorian, but also towards recognizing the fatal flaws in her own culture (mainly that they keep fighting EACH OTHER rather than cooperating together) and discovering a new, healthier, kinder way to be Mandalorian by learning how to be a Jedi. She learns how to control her anger, how to show mercy, how to connect to another Mandalorian who hates her through compassion and perseverance, and how to overcome her fears and guilt. This is the core of the arc Sabine goes on over the first three seasons.
And then we get to season four and suddenly Sabine has lost all sense of mercy and is willing to use her own weapon to kill and torture other Mandalorians she doesn't agree with because she's letting her anger control her. All of that development, lost.
While Bo-Katan Kryze, someone who we last saw being a terrorist who helped bring Maul to Mandalore in the first place, is somehow the one advocating for mercy instead. And then Sabine hands over the Darksaber to her so she can fuck off to Lothal and be a part of the show's final season. Which I get, I do, I understand that the show probably got unexpectedly canceled and so they had to wrap things up and they wanted Sabine to be a major part of that final arc on Lothal which meant they had to find a way to quickly finish off the Darksaber arc without making SABINE be the one to take up that leadership. And in walks Bo-Katan Kryze the Freedom Fighter. But in order to make Bo-Katan even work in this storyline as a legitimate option, they have to completely undo Sabine's character development and pretend like Bo-Katan's more negative history never happened. Which sucks. A lot.
It would've made a LOT more sense for Bo-Katan to have shown up as an EXTREMIST, someone that Sabine might know as a freedom fighter but who Fenn Rau remembers as a terrorist who helped overthrow Mandalore's only peaceful government run by her own sister, brought Republic forces to invade Mandalore to oust the Sith Lord she helped bring to Mandalore in the first place, and then lost Mandalore to the Empire shortly after taking up its leadership. For Bo-Katan to be the one filled with anger and who nearly uses Sabine's weapon to take out Gar Saxon and his followers, but for Sabine to talk her down and convince her towards mercy instead. Have Sabine bring different factions of Mandalorians TOGETHER, have her INSPIRE Mandalorians to be better than they have been before by using Jedi values of compassion and mercy to reach them.
And then Bo-Katan kneels to Sabine, swears her loyalty and the loyalty of her followers (which includes multiple different clans and houses) to Sabine.
But no. Instead, Bo-Katan becomes this hypocritical mess who is given leadership of Mandalore AGAIN only to lose it to the Empire AGAIN after being hailed as this wonderful freedom fighter everyone loves, and Sabine got relegated to having to re-learn the lessons she's already learned and her rightful place and storyline stolen from her.
I'll never stop being mad about that.

NOTE: at least according to Legends, a red lightsaber DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN YOU'RE A SITH. It just means the crystal used to make it is synthetic. But not all synthetic crystals are red. It's a little complicated. Leia actually had a red lightsaber.
TLDR: All Sith have red lightsabers, but not everyone with a red lightsaber is a Sith.
I'm not including black as a color because the Darksaber is a very special case.

Wookiee Jedi: A History
Wookiees. Jedi. Wookiee Jedi. How could you not love them? I’ve decided to compile a hopefully exhaustive little list of all Wookiee Jedi in Star Wars, canon or not. They are ordered chronologically by their introduction and sorted by decade.
The 90s or: Lowbacca, a category of his own
The first Wookiee Jedi in Star Wars was Lowbacca, nicknamed Lowie, introduced in 1995. He was Chewbacca’s nephew and one of the principal characters in the Young Jedi Knights book series, where he trained as one of the students at Luke’s Jedi academy alongside Han and Leia’s kids. He remained a quite frequent side character in later books, especially the New Jedi Order series.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lowbacca was literally and figuratively exiled in the Dark Nest trilogy (2005) after Lucas banned Wookiee Jedi (we’ll get to that). He did appear in books since then until the cancellation of the now-Legends timeline, although less frequently than before. His appearances in late-stage Legends content are usually related to Wookiees and Kashyyyk specifically, rather than as just another Jedi knight, and mostly reserved for Troy Denning’s novels. Important fact to know about Lowie: I love him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The 2000s and The Ban
The early 2000s saw the introduction of several Wookiee Jedi, although always as very minor characters. The first one we need to discuss for completeness’ sake is, no joke, Unidentified Wookiee Jedi. We know next to nothing about them: they appear briefly in the background of a 2000 book as a student of the new Jedi Order. This is contemporary with Lowbacca’s time but due to other storylines we can rule out that this Jedi is him. I suppose you can decide for yourself whether this is a simple continuity error, or a random background character used to characterize the setting of Luke’s Order as a harmonious multispecies organization (while utilizing a well-known Star Wars alien species).
For more senior – and named – Jedi we have Master Tyvokka, member of the Council, introduced in 2001. He appears in the flashbacks of a single issue of the Republic comic line by John Ostrander, though he is mentioned in several following issues. He is technically canon despite only appearing in the old continuity due to a mention in reference to Plo Koon, who was his student in both continuities. I think he’s cool for the simple fact that he used a yellow lightsaber. We know Lucas was familiar with the Republic comics (he famously incorporated Aayla into the prequels) but it isn’t entirely clear how much of them he read.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next we have RPG Wookiees. Master Kirlocca was a prequel-era Jedi in the campaign Living Force, which started in 2001 and concluded in 2007. He has appeared in many installments and supplementary materials of the campaign but never outside it. Living Force also “introduced” Wookiee Jedi Knight Vorlocca as a corpse players find in one of its adventures. Whatever, he counts. (the RPG also introduced Force-sensitive non-Jedi Wookiees named Kuce and Furellas, who is notable for being a lady.)
Tumblr media
At some point in the early 2000s Lucas banned the introduction of more Force-sensitive Wookiees. Apart from Lowie this affected Hanharr, a member of your party and playable character in KOTOR II. The devs were supposedly not allowed to include the option of making him a Dark Jedi for this reason. When working on ROTS, concept artist Derek Thompson "wanted to try at least one Wookiee Jedi on the off chance that George would go for it. He didn't go for it."
Tumblr media
The 2010s or: maybe we can get Wookiee Jedi again?
Quite possibly the most widely known on this list is Gungi, the first Wookiee Jedi we’ve seen on screen. He made his first appearance in a 2012 episode of The Clone Wars’ fifth season as one of the Jedi younglings gathering crystals for their lightsabers, in an arc that was at one point considered for its own spinoff. He has since also appeared in The Bad Batch season 2. His nature as a Wookiee Jedi is specifically referred to as rare by Huyang and since Lucas was still involved in making the show at that time we can assume he either went back on his distaste for furry Jedi by then, or wanted Gungi to be all the more unique.
Tumblr media
Also in 2012 – suggesting Gungi’s introduction might have loosened the ban – we have another comic Jedi, Ruhr. More accurately, he was a Je’daii, a predecessor organization to the Order we know. He was part of the Dawn of the Jedi series, also by Ostrander for Dark Horse. That series ended 15 issues in because the comic rights were transferred to Marvel after the Disney sale, so no more Ruhr.
Tumblr media
We also absolutely have to mention Kitmum. She (!) is not canon and never was – unlike the other books and comics discussed here her 2013 book was explicitly non-canonical even before the impending canon reboot of 2014. We love her for her outfit, teaching children how to exercise, and being the only girl Jedi on this list.
Tumblr media
The 2020s and the High Republic, golden age for Wookiee Jedi fans
Star Wars publishing over the last several years was largely focused on the High Republic initiative, which is so far a great time for Jedi Wookiees (or, more accurately, for their fans – the Jedi are not doing so good), with more to come soon in The Acolyte, set in the same era.
The first and most prominent is Burryaga Agaburry, one of the principal characters in the adult novel trilogy in Phase I, introduced in Light of the Jedi (2021). He is both a POV character in his own right and the best friend of the main teenage Jedi in the adult novels, Bell Zettifar. Apart from the novels he appears in the audio drama Tempest Runner and is often mentioned or shown in the background of many other High Republic projects. He is also one of the characters most often depicted in children’s media of the era, probably due to his adorable cuddly appearance. His fate in the wake of Phase I’s ending was a major cliffhanger leading into Phase III, leaving the readers hanging for over a year and a half. You love Burry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The other major Wookiee Jedi in the High Republic multimedia project is Arkoff, technically first introduced in the same book as Burry due to a single mention of his name in a list of notable Jedi. He is the teacher of Lily, herself the protagonist of the Edge of Balance manga, and appears more notably in the manga’s prequel volume set 150 years earlier during Phase II. Ah, the advantages of Wookiee life expectancy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2023 saw the introduction of Krrsish, an initiate in the flashback sections of the Yoda comic. He has a hard time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first Wookiee Jedi in live action is set to be Kelnacca in The Acolyte. He is played by Joonas Suotamo, the actor who took over the role of Chewie for Solo and TROS. He’s also getting a comic one-shot by Cavan Scott later this year!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't wait to meet him.

Masters Parts 1-5
This is a long one.
Masters
36 ABY
Rey watched the old man across the bar, he was with a female Chiss and a Mandalorian. She’d been going through Luke and Leia’s notes, where she found mention of things called Holocrons, as well as a Jedi Master who had mastered all forms of lightsaber combat.
“Is that him?” Asked Poe, making Rey look at him.
“I think so.” Answered Rey, as the Chiss started to walk towards them, “Kriff.”
Rey looked down and saw a metal tube roughly two foot in length. The Chiss eyed them, before addressing Rey, “Where’s your master?”
Rey jerked back, “What?”
“You’re master,” repeated the Chiss, folding her arms across her chest, “The one who’s training you.”
Rey paused, “I’m a master actually.” Rey scolded herself at how petulant she sounded.
The Chiss laughed, “You’re the age of a Padawan, unless you’re from an ageless species.”
“That’s enough, Athena.” Said the old man, dropping into the seat across from Rey, “Although, she does have a point.”
“I completed my training-” The man waved his hand, frowning at her.
“I know who you are, Rey.” Said the man, giving her a piercing look, “I know your origins, your trials and your accomplishments.”
The man leaned back, “I also know, you can barely use a lightsaber.”
Rey opened her mouth, indignant, but the man raised his hand to stop her, “However, I am willing to train you on that front.”
Rey leaned back in her seat, as the man looked around the bar and gave a piercing whistle. Over half the occupants got up and left, before the man looked back at her.
“Luke wasn’t the only one to survive Kylo Ren.” Said the man, as he got to his feet, “However, the others of us that survived opted to rebuild our Order.”
Rey’s jaw dropped, as the man gestured for her to follow him, “There are a number of force sensitives that you plan on training, correct?”
Rey nodded, as the man led her out of the bar.
“By the way,” Said the man, “My name’s Ezra.”
“Rey,” Responded Rey, automatically, “but, you already knew that.”
Ezra chuckled, “You remind me of my daughter.”
Rey didn’t know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
“May I see your lightsaber?” Asked Ezra, glancing at her.
Rey held the lightsaber out, watching Ezra examine it.
“You made it out of a quarter staff you had?” Questioned Ezra, stopping at a door, as Rey nodded, “It seems you’ve added a locking mechanism to it, I assuming so it can become a lightsaber pike?”
Rey frowned, getting a hum from the man. He ignited the blade, carefully watching the blade.
“Where did you get the crystal?” Asked Ezra, not looking at her.
“A cave on Ahch-To.” Answered Rey, as Ezra deactivated her lightsaber and handed it back to her.
“Impressive,” Said Ezra, as he led them through the door they’d stopped at, “you’ll have to forgive us for not coming to Crait, and our minor presence at Exegol, we were dealing with a few issues.”
Rey saw various helmets decorating the walls, as well as a group of people carefully watching her.
“With the death of Grandmaster Tano,” Continued Ezra, “we’ve been attempting to select a replacement. Luke forfeited the title when he left after the temple on Ossus was destroyed.”
“Ezra,” Said a woman with oddly dyed hair, “Who’s this?”
“Rey, Jedi Knight,” Ezra gestured to Rey and then to the woman, “meet Sabine Wren, head of security.”
“So, this is the child that Palpatine clone had.” Murmured Sabine, before looking at Ezra, “Master Kestis said he needs you in the archives.”
Ezra nodded, glancing around, “I’m assuming Masters Marek and Jade are heading the classes.”
Sabine nodded, “Jacen’s also looking for you.”
Ezra quietly nodded, before walking towards a doorway. Rey looked around, this temple was disguised as an office building and, instead of going upwards, they tunnelled down underneath themselves.
She quickly followed after Ezra, leaving Sabine shaking her head, as some of the Jedi from the bar entered the temple, including the Mandalorian and the Chiss.
M
Rey silently watched Ezra talk to a man with green hair, a man around Ezra’s age sat frowning at a data pad. He flicked through the contents of a data pad, before glancing up Ezra, “Who’s the Padawan?”
“This is Rey,” Answered Ezra, glancing at Rey, “you know who she is.”
The man frowned, before nodding and going back to his data pad.
“Who’s he?” Asked Rey, making Ezra sigh.
“This is Jedi Master Kyle Katarn,” Explained Ezra, “He’s currently recovering from a mission gone wrong.”
“That Acklay had it coming.” Mutter Kyle, as Ezra continued his conversation with Jacen, “Skywalker’s going to be coming back today.”
Rey’s eyes snapped to Katarn, “Skywalker?”
“Luke’s son.” Answered Ezra, turning to face Rey, “After Kylo Ren destroyed the temple of Ossus, we were presumed dead and, when no one came for us, we went into hiding.”
“We’ve been rebuilding the Order,” Said Katarn, getting up, “slowly, but progress is progress.”
Rey looked around the room, noting the number of data pads and glowing cubes and pyramids. Ezra followed her gaze, “Don’t touch those, Master Kestis tends to get a bit touchy if someone touches the ancient artefacts without supervision.”
“I heard that.” Came a voice from the other side of the archives.
Ezra let out a chuckle, before looking at Jacen, “Thank you for your report, hopefully the Senate will allow us to go into the temple ruins and salvage what remains of the archive there.”
Jacen nodded and turned to leave, getting a sigh from Ezra, “Jacen,” He called, “your parents would be proud of you.”
Jacen gave a hesitant smile, before leaving. Rey heard Ezra sigh again, before his comm beeped. Checking it, Ezra smiled, “Galen and Mara are free now, I’ll arrange a council meeting.”
Kyle nodded, before getting to his feet, “I’ll spread the word.”
Ezra then looked at Rey, “Come, it’ll do you some good.”
Rey gave a hesitant nod, making Ezra’s smile wider.
M
Rey looked around the room, a woman with red hair and a man with a buzz cut appeared as holograms, Master Katarn was talking to a man with reddish-white hair, Ezra told her he was Master Kestis, Sabine Wren was quietly conversing with the Chiss from the bar, Athena, Ezra and a master Hati were discussing training regimes for the students. A Wookie Jedi Master was talking to a Master Horn and Master Leonis. There was an empty chair next to master Marek, which none of the Masters were looking at.
Ezra glanced around, ending his conversation with Master Hati, “Right, we’re going to have to address the Bantha in the room, who are we going to select as the new Grandmaster of the Order?”
The room went silent almost immediately, before Marek spoke, “Master Gungi is the eldest in the order, excluding Grogu.”
The Wookie looked at Galen, [I doubt I’m the best choice for that role.]
“I’m inclined to agree with Master Marek,” Said Master Leonis, “Not only are you the eldest Jedi in the order, you are also the only one of us who’re from before the rise of the Empire.”
“While that may be true,” Said Athena, looking around, “Master Gungi may not be best suited for the role of Grandmaster. No offense.”
[None taken.] Roared Gungi, as Ezra frowned.
“Galen, you’re Master of the Order.” Said Ezra, “The two roles have been merged before.”
“I spend most of my time away from the Temple.” Cut in Galen, waving his hand, “You and Kyle are both Battle masters, maybe one of you could take up the mantle.”
“That still doesn’t fix our other issue.” Said the woman with red hair, looking around, “If one of us is to become Grandmaster, we’d still need to select a master to join the council.”
Kyle frowned, “Haa-Ri is currently heading the healers being train on Polis Massa.”
“He is also freshly knighted.” Objected Master Leonis, before her gaze fell on Rey, “We also have to take our newest arrival into account.”
The other Jedi all looked at Rey, making Ezra sigh, “I don’t know why she came here, but she’s under the impression she’s a Master.”
“She did kill Darth Sidious.” Mused Master Kestis, getting an eyeroll from Master Jade.
“As did Vader and Luke.”
Ezra quietly watched Rey, frowning, “Her skills with a lightsaber are laughable, at best, but she has a good mastery over the force.”
Before anyone could respond to Ezra, the door to the council room beeped. Ezra sighed, “That’ll probably be Skywalker.” He looked at Rey, “You’ll have to leave us for a moment, so we can focus on Skywalker’s report.”
Rey didn’t need the force to tell they weren’t going to take no for an answer, “Yes, masters.”
Turning on her heel, Rey walked towards the door, just as a man who looked like a younger version of Luke walked it. Giving Rey a brief nod, he continued to the centre of the room.
“Masters.” Bowed the man, as the door shut behind Rey.
“Anakin.” Nodded Ezra, leaning forwards, “What’s the news from the Senate?”
“Obi and Dala are still on Coruscant,” Said Anakin, his hand clasped in front of him, “Obi thinks he can convince them into allowing us reinhabit it in the long term.”
“The temple on Coruscant does have many advantages that the other temples don’t.” Said Galen, his hologram flickering, “Larger living areas for one.”
“It also fell with next to no resistance.” Said Mara, looking at the other masters.
“That could be down to the Inquisitors and other Sith agents that were in the Temple.” Objected Cal, leaning back in his chair, “But, if we were to relocate to there, we’d have to expediate the expansions of Corps.”
“That won’t be too difficult,” Dismissed Kyle, “We can employ displaced farmers, both to have a professional to oversee thing and to supplement our numbers in the Agricultural corps.”
“And we can adequately fill the other branches of the service corps.” Agreed Ezra, looking at Anakin, “There’s something else, isn’t there?”
Anakin glanced around, “I came across a pair of force-sensitive children on the planet Stewjon.”
Cal frowned, “What are their names?”
“Allie and Kallum Kenobi.”
The Council member glanced around, “I assume,” Said Mara, “they’re a relation of the late Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
“Their mother is his great-niece, Masters.” Responded Anakin, “I’ve spoken to their parents and they have agreed for them to be taken for training.”
Cal nodded, glancing at Ezra, “What is Dala doing?”
“She left Coruscant to search for a planet with an abundance of Kyber crystals.” Answered Anakin, “Since Starkiller Base was built into Ilum and the Resistance blew it up.”
Ezra sighed, silently cursing the Empire and the Sith for the shortage in Kyber crystals. Hopefully, the twelve remaining Kyber crystal planets would still be somewhat plentiful.
“Thank you, Anakin,” Said Mara, jerking Ezra out of his thoughts, “We’ll go over your report in detail. You’re dismissed.”
Anakin bowed and walked out of the room. Ezra let out a sigh, before looking around, “I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m starting to feel old.”
Dhara looked at the chrono and sighed, “We might as well finish for tonight, and submit council recommendations in the morning.”
There was a general murmur of agreement, as each council member got up and headed for the door. Ezra glanced at Ahsoka’s empty seat, he sighed and continued on his way. Since the loss of Luke’s students, their new Jedi Order had around 500 members and, with what little hope they still had, they may be able to rebuild the Order back to the strength they had before the Clone War.
Running a hand over his face, Ezra looked out the window. He could see his old Tower, now primarily used as a Jedi Outpost. He groaned as he felt a slight pain in his chest, before he turned towards the turbolift. Ezra hoped that Rey was fully trained, they needed as many teachers as they could.
M
Ezra winced as he stepped out into the sun, he spotted Rey watching Anakin and Mina spar, she looked like she was trying to copy them discretely. Ezra let out a laugh, before walking up to her.
“You don’t need to spy on them,” Chuckled Ezra, grabbing his lightsaber, “it does have a training setting, right?”
Rey nodded, igniting her lightsaber, with Ezra igniting his in return, the purple blade pointed towards the ground.
“We’ll start with the basics, Form 1.” Ezra raised his blade, with Rey copying him.

-
Finn looked around at the other Jedi, a Twi-Lek led some children through some exercises, while a Kel-Dor guided some older students around the archives.
“You should probably close your mouth before something flies into it.” Quipped a Kiffar, smirking at Finn.
He quickly closed his mouth, getting a laugh from the Kiffar.
“Name’s Korto,” he held his hand out to Finn, “The council asked me to lead you through some basic training.”
Finn nodded, allowing Korto to guide him through the temple’s halls.

Rey ducked under Ezra’s blade, he’d progressed to Form III, she felt her arms start to ache, sweat started to run down her face. She faltered, and Ezra twisted her lightsaber from her hand. The hilt hit the floor and Ezra chuckled.
“You’re progressing well,” Said Ezra, deactivating his lightsaber, “if you keep practicing this in your own time, you’ll fully be worthy of the title of Knight.”
Rey breathed heavily, looking around, their lesson had drawn a lot of attention, Ezra looked around, “Don’t you all have somewhere to be?”
In a flurry of movement, the Jedi dispersed, leaving Ezra and Rey with Anakin and Mina. Anakin let out a low whistle, “You never gave me that sort of praise.”
“Because you were trained amongst us, not in the wilds of space.”
Mina let out a snort, the Togruta covered her mouth in an attempt to conceal her laughter. Anakin threw her a dirty look, before looking at Rey.
“You’ve been calling yourself ‘Skywalker’.” Said Anakin, glaring at Rey, “Why?”
“Luke and Leia said I could.” Answered Rey, getting a sigh from Ezra.
“It’s getting late,” Said the Jedi Master, looking around at them, “we’ll continue this in the morning.”
Ezra turned and started to leave, “Some sleep will do us all good.”
Masters
37 ABY
Ezra quietly talked with Kira, while Shin and Galen were talking to Sha about some new holocrons that’d been found, when Rey walked into the council chamber. It’d been little over a year since Rey had come to them and, while still a bit rough around the edges, she’d progressed well enough in her lightsaber combat for the council to approve her for a Padawan. The other force sensitives that Rey had come with were progressing nicely with their training.
“I have good news, masters.” Said Rey, her padawan, Satine Naberrie, stood at the doorway, “Large clusters of Kyber crystals have been found on all of the planets on the list Master Kestis found, as well as a significant number on planets and moons that surrounded what was Starkiller Base.”
“That,” Said Galen, leaning forwards, “is good news.”
“Hopefully,” Said Sha Koon, a Kel-Dor who was the niece of Plo Koon, “We will be able to gain access to the Temple on Coruscant and consult the lists and holocrons there.”
“It’d also be the perfect training ground for the former Inquisitors,” Mused Ezra, stroking his beard, “give them somewhere familiar to become reacquainted with the Jedi ways.”
They’d finally managed to convince Reva Sevander and Barriss Offee to return to the Order, while they had declined a seat on the Council, they’d taken places in the Creche and Archives respectively. The Senate had approved them entry to the Coruscant Temple, but with the small smatterings of crime syndicates all vying for control, the Order was not allowed to reside in the Temple.
“I’d also like to make a request.” Said Rey, getting a smirk from Ezra, “I’d like to take a contingent of Jedi to help clear the gangs from Coruscant.”
“We are supposed to be impartial.” Said Master Tarpals, frowning, “If the Jedi were to interfere with Republic issues, it may paint us in a negative light.”
“I understand, Master,” Answered Rey, “However, if we were to offer our aide to the Republic Senate, it would be their decision if we were to get involved.”
There was a small chuckle, as Mara glanced towards Ezra, “And how much of this is Master Bridger’s influence?”
“He only pointing out the flaws.” Responded Rey, getting a sigh from Master Koon.
“I will extend an offer to the Senate,” She said, “but it will be a one-time offer.”
Rey smiled, “Thank you, Master.”
“If that is all,” Said Master Koon, “you are dismissed.”
Rey bowed and walked out of the council chamber, quietly telling her padawan to follow her.
“The force troopers,” Force troopers was a term coined by Korto Vos when referring to the force-sensitive former stormtroopers, “I believed they are ready for knighthood.”
“We will look into it, Master Katarn.” Said Sha, “We have to consider if they are fully acclimatised into the Order.”
“Finn, at the very least,” Said Ezra, wincing as he shifted in his seat, “he has already undergone both the trial of the flesh and trial of the spirit.”
Sha Koon sighed, “We will discuss this more in the morning, some sleep will do us all good.”
M
Ezra and a group of thirty Jedi moved through the streets of Coruscant, Finn blocked a blaster bolt with his lightsaber, as Rey was cutting through a door. Activating his second blade, Ezra spun his purple and blue lightsabers, before using the force to jump onto the roof. He landed in front of an Inquisitor.
“I thought all of you were gone.” Grumbled Ezra, settling into a defensive position.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you.” Sneered the Inquisitor, as a red blade pierced the ground behind him. Ezra frowned as the saber quickly circled the Inquisitor and watched as he fell into the newly-made hole.
Cautiously, Ezra looked down into the pit, just as a darkly dressed humanoid woman climbed out of the hole.
“…Lyn Rakish?”
“Did Barriss send you?” Asked Lyn, as Barriss landed behind him.
“Where’s the Inquisitor?” Asked Barriss, prompting Ezra to point down the hole.
“Hopefully,” Said Ezra, as Rey joined them, “we’ll have an easier time getting into the Temple.”
Barriss nodded, before checking a gang member not far from them, “I have a feeling that there’re going to be a lot of full cells at the end of this.”
“It’d be easier if we could treat this like a military engagement.” Said Rey, getting a frown from Ezra.
“A Jedi only draws their weapon in defence,” Chastised Ezra, “be it in defence of ourselves, or in defence of others. So, we’ll make do with destroying their blasters and knocking them out.”
The group looked out at the city planet as silence reigned.
“I feel,” Said Ezra, after a moment, “that it’s ended.”
M
Ezra walked along the lower levels with Rakish, “I hope that Amedda didn’t destroy the statues and artefacts after Palpatine’s first death.”
“He wouldn’t,” Dismissed Lyn, frowning, “he never had the intelligence for it.”
“That’s one opinion on him.” Said another voice, making the pair spin on their heels.
A Thisspiasian calmly looked at them. Ezra frowned, “Who’re you?”
“Master Rancisis?” Asked Lyn, dumbfounded, “You’re alive?”
“One never thinks to look under their own feet, when hunting their enemy.” Said Rancisis, slithering forwards.
“Exactly what Sidious did.” Murmured Ezra, frowning, “You’re a Jedi master.”
“Am I?” Questioned Rancisis, “What are the Jedi now? A group of nomads? An Order that reinvented itself? An evolution of a complacent and near corrupted religion?”
“Many would class those as the same thing.” Said Ezra, folding his arms, “Ahsoka and Kanan told me about you, and your consistent generosity.”
Rancisis chuckled, “I suppose that Tano trained you.”
“No,” Answered Ezra, “I mean, she helped with lightsaber combat, but I was trained by Kanan Jarrus.”
Rancisis frowned, “I’m not familiar with that name.”
“Right,” Ezra shook his head, “his birthname was Caleb Dume.”
“Ah, Depa’s Padawan.” Murmured Rancisis, before looking around, “I’m sorry, I’ve distracted you.”
“We’re looking for the Jedi artefacts that Mas Amedda stored down here.” Said Lyn, looking around, “There are some of us that are…trying to find redemption for our roles in the Empire.”
Rancisis hummed, and led them to a doorway, “Amedda was particularly weak-minded, I always managed to get him to leave them here.”
Ezra smiled, looking around at the various artefacts, “And Sidious never noticed your presence?”
“Oh, he noticed,” Answered Rancisis, “but, after Order 66, Sidious no longer considered the Jedi a threat, of course, he had his Inquisitors and Vader hunt down any Jedi in active combats with the Empire, but he mainly focused on his superweapons.”
“It’s also probably because you were roaming around the sewers of the Temple.” Said Lyn, picking up and lightsaber and activating it, “This was my master’s.”
Ezra watched as she waved the blade, before extinguishing it.
“Have you ever considered using those force portals to prevent everything?” Asked Lyn, making Rancisis look at Ezra.
“I have.” Answered Ezra, glancing around, “Mainly before Mira was born, but it may not have been the will of the Force.”
“And if it is?”
Ezra paused, “Then it is not my destiny to carry it out.”
M
Ezra watched Kyle and Mira spar with Rey. While her bladework had improved, it was evident her skills were with the force. He tried not to smirk as Mira’s own golden blades clashed with Rey’s, before his daughter retreated and connected her lightsabers at the end of their hilts, forming a saberstaff.
Rey’s guard dropped as she stared at Mira’s lightsaber, “How’d you do that?”
Mira lowered her blades, as did Kyle, “Split Sabers, most people hate them, you know, since they run the risk of coming apart mid-combat, but I implemented a locking system.”
Rey hesitantly reached her hand out, “May I?”
Mira hesitated, before handing the saberstaff to Rey. The girl experimentally waved the Saber, getting a frown from Ezra.
“Didn’t you think to build your lightsaber as a staff?” Asked Kyle, matching Ezra’s frown.
“No, we didn’t have enough parts.” Answered Rey, making Ezra walk towards them.
“Alright,” Said Ezra, looking at Kyle, “I think we have a purified saberstaff somewhere, we could put her through her paces with it.”
“We’d have to talk to the rest of the Council,” Warned Kyle, glancing at Rey, “since it might be in the memorial section.”
“Good point.” Answered Ezra, the two masters’ seemingly forgetting about Rey and Mira.
“Oh, great.” Muttered Mira, “Battle Master conversation.”
“What is a Battle Master?” Asked Rey, getting a grimace from Mira.
“They’re Jedi Masters who have mastered all forms of Lightsaber combat, as well as the majority of force techniques.” Answered Mira, “They’re the head of the Temple Guards and they are an absolute pain when you’re their daughter.”
“When you say all forms,” Asked Rey, glancing at Ezra and Kyle, still talking to each other, “what do you mean?”
“Single blade, double blade, Jar’Kai, reverse grip, forms one through seven,” Mira rolled her eyes, “You know, one person army poodoo.”
“How many Battle Masters are there?” Asked Rey.
“Current or former?” Responded Mira, “Kyle’s currently Battle Master, since Dad stepped down a couple months ago, but Kyle also preceded him and, before that, a Jedi Master called Cin Drallig was the Battle Master when the old Order fell.”
“Yes, despite what you may think,” Ezra’s voice made them jump, “a Battle Master is not a one-person army.”
He then looked at Rey, “Come on, let’s see if there’s a lone Saberstaff.”
M
Rey stood behind Ezra and Master Koon in the pod in the Coruscant Senate building.
“Your Order allowed the likes of Palpatine and the First Order to take power!” Yelled a Senator, getting a sigh from Ezra.
“You’re the Senator of Naboo, are you not, Senator Bolla?” Asked Ezra, glancing over the chamber, “Sheev Palpatine was born on Naboo, your world is responsible for housing him. Senator Dooku, your ancestor started the Clone War with Sheev Palpatine, and you, Mas Amedda.”
The old Chagrian jumped when Ezra addressed him.
“You aided Sheev Palpatine in destabilising the Republic, convinced the entire chamber of the Republic to hand more and more power to the Sith Lord, while you aided him in controlling both sides of the Clone War,” the Jedi Master’s voice was cold, “and, I’m amazed I have to remind all of you, The Jedi Order had no seat in this chamber and could cast no votes in political matters.”
The Senate chamber was filled with a tense silence, listening to Ezra speak.
“The First Order rose because the Republic failed to destroy the Imperial remnant, and while we were betrayed by Kylo Ren, we had no place in the Republic, which we still don’t,” Ezra glanced around, “We occupy the Coruscant Temple because of its cultural history with our Order.”
“It is Republic property,” Spluttered a Senator, “it belongs to us!”
“Forgive me for misunderstanding, Senator,” Spoke Master Koon, her voice silencing the Senate, “but it was the contingent of Jedi that led the arrest of the crime families and the petty gangs that covered Coruscant, most of which you have all released.”
“They won’t attack us.” Dismissed the same Senator, getting a frown from Ezra.
“They aren’t attacking because the Jedi are on Coruscant.” Argued Senator Jai Kell, one of the few Jedi supporters in the Senate, “The Jedi are risking life and limb liberating the Galaxy from the taint created by the Empire, while we all sit here, chewing ligament and reaping the rewards!”
“Perhaps,” Chancellor Bonteri looked over the chamber, “Senator Atlas would like to make their point.”
Ezra tried not to laugh at the Chancellor’s unsaid message, get to the point or I will have you removed.
“If the Jedi are to reside here, they should be under the control of the Senate.” Spat Atlas, glaring at the Jedi.
“The last time the Jedi were pawns of the Senate,” Lux shifted as he got up, “Palpatine spread them across the galaxy, after manipulating them into warriors, and had them unjustly murdered. The Temple, along with other desecrated Jedi sites, will belong to the Jedi and the Jedi alone. They will not be forced to serve the Republic and they will not have to obey us, especially in scenarios such as Ryloth.”
The silence was almost deafening, before Lux addressed Master Koon, “Master Jedi, you and your delegation are free to leave as you wish.”
“Thank you, Chancellor.” Nodded Master Koon, before guiding the pod into its dock and leading the Jedi out of the Senate.
M
“Run it again.” Ordered Athena, the Chiss frowning at the screen.
“Any particular reason you called me here?” Asked Anakin, crossing his arms as he entered the Halls of Healing.
“This is a strand of Rey’s DNA.” Said Athena, stepping to the side and showing the screen to Anakin, “There’s Sheev Palpatine there,” she pointed to a part of the stand, before pointing to another, “and here’s Anakin Skywalker.”
“My grandfather?” Asked Anakin, as Dala and Obi-Wan entered the Halls.
“What’s this about Grandad?” Asked Dala, tying her hair into a bun.
“Rey has his DNA as well as Palpatine’s.” Answered Anakin, stepping to the side, “I mean, we knew about Dathan being a non-force sensitive clone,”
“Strand-struck.” Corrected Athena, “Clones are identical copies, Strand-strucks are more like ectogenesis.”
“Right, anyway,” Continued Anakin, “apparently Miramir was a ‘strand-struck’ of our grandfather.”
“Well, Sidious would’ve had access to the DNA.” Said Obi-Wan, looking around, “He might have planned to grow his future apprentices.”
“So,” Said Athena, “I plan on informing the council about your…cousin, but we may ask you to break the news to her.”
The three Skywalkers glanced at each other, before leaving.
M
“You’re certain?” Asked Galen, leaning forwards.
“It would explain how quickly Dathan had a child, especially so soon after escaping Exegol.” Murmured Ezra, “It would also explain Rey’s strength with the force.”
“Do you think Luke and Leia knew?” Asked Mara, after a moment.
The council was silent, before Ezra sighed, “Perhaps, we should address the Bantha in the room.”
“He was expelled in absentia,” Said Galen, leaning forwards, “and Knight Rey’s report on his beliefs about the Jedi Order was troubling.”
“She also reported that his Force-Ghost retracted those statements.” Said Kyle, leaning back in his seat.
“We’ve all had similar thoughts at one point in our lives,” Said Sha, “we cannot place our judgement on mere thoughts.”
“He did desert the Order when we needed him most.” Said Corran, “Our thoughts were just that, thoughts.”
“Then there’s Kylo Ren.” Said Shin, glancing at Ezra.
“We cannot fault Luke for his actions, no matter how ill thought they were.” Said Sha, “We all sensed the darkness in the boy, as well as all the stress Luke was under from the Republic.”
“Stress that he was dealing with alone.” Said Mara, gazing at the floor.
“Besides,” Said Ezra, looking around, “we can’t fault a teacher for the actions of their student. May I remind you of the Kordo incident?”
“He’s got a point.” Said Galen, “We were too harsh when we expelled him from the Order.”
“So, that’s why no one tried to find me.”
The entire council froze, before looking to the source of the voice. Luke stood at the window, gazing across the landscape.
“Luke?” Whispered Ezra, getting to his feet, “How the blazes…?”
“You already know how.” Answered Luke, as Galen and Mara joined Ezra on his feet.
“Did you know?” Asked Galen, “About the girl?”
“I did.” Answered Luke, “It is a long story, but not necessarily my right to tell.”
“I think,” Said Sha, getting to her feet, “we have the time.”
M
Rey stopped in front of the Lars homestead, Ezra and Dala trudged through the sand.
“You buried them near here?” Asked Dala, reaching her hand out.
“Over there.” Answered Rey, pointing towards a dip in the sand.
“I’ll make arrangements for a meeting with the local government,” Said Ezra, looking around the homestead, “try and get an enclave set up here.”
Rey looked at Dala, her cousin, it felt weird calling the girl her cousin, since she’d never had any extended family before. Her hand ran over her lightsaber, now a saberstaff, and looked over the landscape. She could see Finn and Mira heading towards Master Kenobi’s old hut, hoping to find anything to add to the archives.
“What about the local tribes?” Asked Dala, getting Ezra’s attention, “Tuskens might attack anyone living here.”
“Im sure your bothers are dealing with them.” Answered Ezra, as Rey managed to retrieve Luke and Leia’s lightsabers, “We’ll stop by Ahch-To and collect Luke’s other lightsaber.”
“What about Finn and Mira?” Asked Rey, looking down at Ezra.
“They’re not going to be long,” Answered the master, “we’ll wait for them at the ship.”
M
“How long has he been developing it?” Asked Rey, as Jace Antilles levitated his lightsaber.
“What, Form eight or Form nine?”
“What’s the difference?”
“One’s a mixture of Forms one through four and the other is a mixture of Forms one, five, six and seven.”
“I can hear you talking.” Called Ezra, twirling his lightsaber.
“Sorry.” Responded Jace, attaching his lightsaber to his belt, “C’mon, I think Storm and one of the Skywalkers are getting back today.”
The younger Jedi left as Ezra completed inputting Form nine into a Holocron. Deactivating his lightsaber, Ezra dropped into a seat and winced at the pain he felt in his chest.

Ezra watched as Etain Skirata was knighted, while Venku had refused to be trained initially, he’d allowed Luke to teach him the basics, which Ezra and Sabine had expanded on. Sighing, Ezra extinguished his lightsabers and watched the new knight collect her braid from the floor.
Feeling a sting of pain in his chest, he absently rubbed at the pain and walked out of the council chamber, where he saw Etain giving her braid to her father.
“Knight Skirata.” Said Ezra, approaching the pair, “Please, allow me be the first to congratulate you in your knighthood.”
“Thank you,” Nodded Etain, “Master Bridger.”
Ezra gave her a nod and moved towards the turbolift.
“Master Bridger.” Called Venku, making Ezra turn, “I heard you’re no longer taking apprentices.”
Ezra gave a chuckle, “I think you and I know the reason behind that decision. Even with late bloomers, like your daughter.”
Venku frowned, but nodded, father and daughter watching the Jedi Master enter the lift.
“I don’t know about you,” Said Etain, looking at Venku, “but, I could’ve sworn I felt a stab of pain from Master Bridger.”
“A downside of ageing.” Murmured Venku, before looking at Etain, “Now, I want to meet my grandchildren.”
M
Rey frowned as Ezra paced around the archives, she’d found herself spending a large amount of time in the archives, particularly with the holocrons. She could’ve sworn she heard him muttering to himself.
“The old man confusing you?” Asked a man in Mandalorian armour, folding his arms across his chest.
“Somewhat.” Answered Rey, before turning to him, “Do you need assistance?”
The man laughed, “No, just here to visit family.”
“Really?” Asked Rey, surprised as usually it was the other way around.
“Yeah, I took the creed after I was Knighted.” Answered the man, gesturing to a lightsaber on his belt, “Caleb Bridger, Clan Wren, House Vizsla.”
“Oh,” Said Rey, “I’m sorry, but no one…”
“Mentioned me?” Laughed Caleb, glancing at his father pacing around, “Don’t worry, it’s mutual amongst us. We usually only introduce ourselves if we’re together.”
“Right.” Rey found herself at a loss, before shaking the confusion off, “Sorry, he keeps mentioning someone called ‘Kordo’?”
“Kordo was a Padawan of mine.” Said Ezra, making Rey jump, “He fell to the dark side and attempted to lead a genocide of an entire planet.”
“He,” Caleb sighed, “he was also my brother. The only way to subdue him was… to kill him.”
“That’s horrible.” Murmured Rey, her hand going to her mouth.
“It’s the unfortunate life as a Jedi,” Said Ezra, his hands behind his back, “no matter how close of a bond we have with someone, if you’re forced to choose between the many and the few, we must choose the many, not matter how painful it is for us.”
A sombre silence echoed between them, before Rey decided to change the subject, “How many children do you have?”
“Including Mira and Caleb?” Asked Ezra, getting a nod from Rey, “Five.”
“Who’re the other three?”
“Well,” Ezra put his hands behind his back, “there’s Alrich, he’s a Temple Guard, Tristan is always on missions and Ursa, our youngest, is on Krownest, leading Clan Wren.”
Rey nodded, she’d heard from Finn that a number of First Order Storm Troopers had been adopted and integrated into Mandalorian Society, under the guidance of Mand’alor Din Djarin, before his death a year after Palpatine’s second death.
“How’s your Padawan?” Asked Ezra, getting a smile from Rey.
“Satine’s doing really well, in her studies, her lightsaber combat, she’s managed to use Force Heal on herself.” Rushed Rey, feeling a large swell of pride for her student.
“Good,” Smiled Ezra, “if thing go smoothly, we may see her knighted in the next ten years.”
“Here’s hoping, Master.” Rey bowed, getting a small bow in return, before Ezra and Caleb walked away.
M
Sabine winced, her hand going to the saber wound on her side.
“It’s playing up again?” Asked Ezra, getting a sigh from Sabine.
“I’m sure it’s nothing,” Dismissed the Mandalorian, adjusting as she sat down.
“It might not be.” Warned Ezra, his hand going to his leg, the saber wound from Kordo had eventually necessitated the removal of the limb.
“Maybe.” Said Sabine, while Ezra twisted a lightsaber, “Is that…?”
“His?” Ezra looked up at her, “Yes.”
“You can’t keep blaming yourself, Ezra.” Sighed Sabine, reaching out and grabbing his hand, “Ephraim was an adult, his decisions were his and his alone.”
Ezra sighed, “As his master, I hold some of the blame.”
“That’s bantha-shit and you know it.” Stated Sabine, frowning at him.
“Maybe.” Ezra gave her a small smile.
M
“What in the name of the Father, the Son and the Daughter were you thinking?!”
Ezra frowned as Galen paced in front of Rey, Finn and Mira.
“You caused a military coup on seven Republic worlds, we the architects of the collapse of another seventeen and all but destroyed twenty cities!”
“Okay, when you put it like that,” Mira interjected, “it sounds bad.”
“SOUNDS BAD?!” Galen whipped around and stared at her, “It is bad!”
“Their senators were corrupt.” Protested Rey, quieting as soon as Galen’s glare was landed on her.
“The Coups were supported by the people of the seven worlds,” Finn stared ahead, “The seventeen other worlds had officials, military leaders and healers working on rebuilding their governments with the intent on electing new Senators for their worlds. The twenty cities were on some of these worlds.”
Galen glanced at Finn, before turning to Ezra and Korto, “How the kriff did you train a by-the-books Jedi?”
Korto Vos, taking a bite out of a meiloorun. Ezra frowned, before stepping towards Mira and Rey, “While your intentions are commendable, the actions each of you took to achieve these results are not.”
Rey winced, as Mira stared at her father defiantly.
“Although, I can’t help but wonder how you did it?”
“We had help.”
“Hmm.” Ezra raised an eyebrow at them, “Where are the other Skywalkers?”
M
Rey followed Cal around the archives, as he explain what each section was about.
“Most of these were salvaged from the vaults Palpatine had.” Said Cal, gesturing to a set of shelves, “Some are more recent additions, like Omega’s romance holos.”
Rey nodded, remembering her experience with the Force Sensitive Clone woman.
“There are also copies of medical and family records kept here, as well as other locations,” Explained the old Jedi, “Since the Hosnian Cataclysm, it was decided that it’d be prudent to keep multiple copies of all records in the archives of separate systems.”
Rey nodded, glancing around. She spotted on of the Bridger family she wasn’t sure if it was Caleb or one of his brothers. She spotted a couple of Twi’Lek Jedi gossiping and a Rodian levitating some data pads up onto a shelf.
Athena led a couple of Padawans through the halls, as Master Katarn led a class of younglings through basic lightsaber forms and Master Bridger instructed a meditation group.
“Perhaps,” Cal rasped, jerking Rey from her observations, “We should continue this tomorrow.”
“Sorry, Master.” Rey bowed her head, making Cal chuckle.
“Don’t worry, this is a lot to take in.” Chuckled the old Master, “Practically impossible to understand it all in one sitting.”
Rey nodded, as Satine ran up to them.
“Master!” Yelled Satine, skidding to a halt, “Master Wren collapsed during Security class!”
The surrounding Masters all froze, before Ezra climbed to his feet and charged off at near-impossible speed, with Athena and several Jedi following him.
M
“Master Sabine Wren is one with the Force,” Said Master Koon, “while we may mourn, it is our duty, and our honour, to remember the impact she has made on each of us. We are luminous beings, and our bodies are temporary vessels and we shall all find ourselves here, at some point in our future.”
Sha looked over at Ezra and his and Sabine’s children.
“Master Wren was dedicated and patient with all Jedi, from the youngest Initiate to the eldest Master.” Sha looked over the rest of the Jedi, “We will all feel this loss. But we must all remember that death is not the end.”
Ezra unhooked his lightsaber, held it parallel over Sabine’s pyre and ignited it. Mira’s blade joined his, followed by Ursa’s, Alrich’s, Tristan’s and, finally, Caleb’s. The lightsabers of Sabine’s apprentices joined them. At the centre of the blades, the pyre started to smoke, before it caught light. The plinth lowered into the floor, with the doors closing and obscuring Sabine’s pyre.
“May the Force guide us.” Said Master Sha, bowing her head.
Masters
46 ABY – 50 ABY
Mira helped her father to his feet, with Ezra summoning his cane and walked out of the room. The rest of the council watched him leave.
“His condition is worsening.” Said Sha, after a moment, “We may have to stop transcribing the Sith Holocrons.”
“I’ll…” Mira trailed off, before clearing her throat, “I’ll talk to him and mother, he’ll be more receptive of it if we were both on board.”
Master Koon nodded, prompting her to leave.
M
Ezra held his lightsaber, before looking at Sabine’s lightsaber and then to a lightsaber lying on the table in front of him. Ephraim’s lightsaber hadn’t been purified, meaning it still retained it’s red blade. Sighing, Ezra turned to the Sith Holocron he was in the process of opening.
There was a knock at the door, breaking his concentration. Mira let herself in, and placed herself across from him. Ezra had a feeling that he knew why she was here.
“Mira,” Ezra prevented Mira from speaking, “the sooner I can get this Holocron transcribed, the sooner we can put this this in the vaults.”
“Dad, that’s not why I’m against it.” Sighed Mira, grabbing his hand, “This thing, it’s harming you. Ever since Mom died, your health has…deteriorated.”
Ezra gave a wheezing laugh, which devolved into a cough.
“Dad, this is killing you.” Mira leaned towards him, “Please, don’t make us lose you so soon after Mom.”
Ezra sighed, before looking at Mira, “Do you know how to open them?”
Mira gave a reluctant nod, “If I can’t, I’m sure Rey could.”
Ezra gave Mira a small smile, before grabbing his cane, “Come, I hear the great tree is in bloom.”
“It is.” Laughed Mira, guiding Ezra out of the Apartment.
M
Ezra stood by Mara’s bedside, the Skywalker family had just left for the night.
“I never thought things would end like this.” Mara said, weakly.
“Perhaps it’s the only way everything will end.”
“Wouldn’t that be nice.” Mara coughed, before groaning, “I can see them.”
Ezra frowned and looked around, seeing no one, “Mara, there’s no one here.”
Mara gave Ezra a wry smile, “I see them.”
Mara’s eyes closed and Ezra felt her pass into the Force. Bowing his head, he stood and walked towards the door.
M
Ezra stood with the rest of the Council as Master Koon gave Mara’s eulogy, the pain in his chest returned and Ezra found himself tuning Master Koon out.
M
Ezra found himself standing as vigil over Kyle, Korto and Corran. The three Jedi Masters had given their lives to protect the Republic Senate against some Final Order Insurgents. Galen had stopped by with Aayla Vos, the Master who’d taken up Mara’s role on the Council, and told him that Cal had passed.
Ezra’s thoughts went to the older Jedi from before the Empire. Barriss’s healings had caught up with her, Maris had died evacuating a village from a flood, Lyn and Reva were working on light duty, but he expected to hear of their passing any day now. Exhaling deeply, Ezra looked back at the three Masters. Most of the first generation of Luke’s Order were one with the Force, with only Galen and Ezra surviving.
Ezra couldn’t help but wonder when his time would come.
M
Ezra didn’t bother to hide his groan, shifting in his seat. Knight Naberrie halted her report, apprehensively looking at Ezra, who wave her off, “It’s fine, just feeling my age.”
Naberrie nodded, before resuming her report. Ezra glanced around the council, before Mira’s hand on his shoulder jerked him out of his thoughts.
“Dad?” Murmured Mira, concern in her eyes, “Are you alright?”
“I think,” Ezra felt a pang of pain in his chest, “I think it’s almost time.”
Mira froze, before swallowing. She glanced around the chamber, before helping Ezra to his feet, “I’ll let the Council know and,” She cleared the throat, “I’ll have the Gauntlet prepared.”
Ezra nodded, before shakily getting to his feet and hobbling out of the chamber. Mira watched him leave, her stomach feeling heavy.
M
Ezra watched as the pilot droid landed the ship. He grabbed a walking stick and left the ship, his thoughts went to Sabine, despite her death five years ago, he still felt her presence. Of course, he still felt Kanan’s presence.
“Womp-Womp.” Said Chopper, bumping into Ezra’s leg.
“I’m find, Chopper.” Ezra patted the droids head, “I’m… just reminiscing.”
It struck Ezra that, aside from Chopper, he was the last of the original Ghost Crew still alive. Hera had died with the New Republic, commanding a cruiser when the First Order destroyed it, Zeb had died on Lira San, all his fighting had finally caught up with him, similar with Sabine. His thoughts turned to his wife, the damage from Shin’s lightsaber finally caught up with her. His hand went to his belt and looked at Sabine’s lightsaber, originally his, it’d served them both well. Until Sabine managed to obtain a crystal of her own, the blade being a beautiful shade of magenta. The green blade was given to Ephraim, before he turned on them and attempted to join the First Order.
Despite everything he said, and Sabine and the other Jedi said, he hadn’t forgiven himself. In both Ephraim’s fall to the darkness and cutting him down on Lira San. Letting out a shaky sigh, Ezra stepped forwards, heading in the direction of the Jedi Outpost on Lothal with Chopper trailing behind him.
He saw his tower, a shining beacon against the grassland and mounds, before looking at the hidden temple in the opposite direction, before he turned and headed towards Dume, Tarkin Town had been given that name after Lothal was liberated.
“You really don’t know where you’re going kid?” Asked Kanan, making Ezra sigh.
“I’m just making sure I get a sufficient head start before Mira or Ursa come to get me.” He answered his master, “Make them wonder how I got all the way out here.”
Kanan laughed, his transparent, blue-lined form appearing next to Ezra, “With all the Jedi you’ve trained? They’ll probably ask why you hadn’t gone further.”
“I remember seeing the Ghost shoot down a TIE around here,” Ezra gestured towards a mound, “Rudor’s, I think.”
“I remember you tell me about it, when we started training.” Said Kanan, as Ezra sat on the grass.
“I remember nearly crapping myself after being shot at.” Remarked Ezra, glancing up at Kanan, “This takes me back.”
“It should.” Said Ahsoka, appearing next to Kanan, “It was where your path started, after all.”
Ezra looked down at the lightsabers on his belt, “I can barely feel my hands.”
“It’s probably from all those Sith Holocron you opened and transcribed.” Said Ahsoka, joining Ezra on the ground, “It’s the cause of your other health problems.”
Ezra let out a laugh, “Yeah, the rest of the Council made that suggestion.”
Ezra felt a mechanical hand on his shoulder, he looked up at Luke, he spotted Leia and Sabine near Kanan and Mara standing just behind Luke.
“It’s almost time.” Said Luke, getting a sigh from Ezra.
“I know.” Murmured Ezra, he could feel Mira and Caleb approaching him, with Ursa, Tristan and Alrich not far behind them.
“Dad?”
Ezra looked at Mira, noting the apprehension in her eyes.
“When I first met your mother, the Ghost brought me here.” Said Ezra, as his children sat beside them, “It was the first time I’d helped anyone that wasn’t for my own gain.”
He smiled, “It was the start of a long and wonderful time.”
“We’ve heard this a thousand times.” Said Ursa, bluntly.
“We made sure all of you were trained,” Ezra sighed, “so that, when the time comes, you’ll be able to communicate with us when you need us.”
They followed Ezra’s gaze, and saw nothing.
“But, please,” Ezra drew their attention back to him, “remember, the Force will always be with you.”
Mira gave an almost imperceptible nod, with Ezra taking in his children one last time, before he released himself into the Force.

Rey looked over the records, part of her wondered if Luke was still ‘busy’. Finn would’ve had spoken to him, had he not been called away to watch over the Gathering.

im choosing ignorance for right now but will cover it at the end of this (this being a whole essay 💀)
So, it looks like Baylan has a green kyber crystal in his belt. This post and others have pointed it out
Tumblr media
Obviously, this begs the question of whom did it belong to? Immediately the thought would be Baylan’s. He was a padawan of the Jedi Order, trained into knighthood, and eventually a general during the Clone Wars. He created his own lightsaber hilt and (maybe, idrk exactly how it works forgive me) chose his own crystal. And, even if he didn’t, it was still a part of who he was for that portion of his early life.
We learned last episode he misses the idea of the Order. With Baylan, there’s a heavy amount of sentimentality associated with the Jedi, especially if we believe (which I do wholeheartedly) that he lost a padawan.
But that’s what begs the other question—is the crystal from his padawan? Did he take it from his padawans lightsaber and keep it for himself to carry on the memory of that kid (who i like to think was a female but that’s the girldad lover in me speaking)? Was it motivated by grief? Has he allowed himself to grieve at all, and if not, was taking the crystal his way of avoiding that emotion?
Or was it motivated by grief? There is no emotion, only peace. Is that when he ditched the code? How could he have any sort of peace after losing his padawan? Or, did he find that peace in keeping the crystal?
But then there’s my other question—what’s the significance of it? Dave Filoni, from what I’ve seen, is intentional. I don’t think adding what looks like a green kyber crystal in Baylan’s belt is just some sort of happenstance that didn’t have any thought behind it.
And, with Baylan’s character, it’s way too significant. When it comes to how he feels about the Jedi, how he seems to actually feel a little bad about having to kill Ahsoka in episode 2. His relationship with Shin. The padawan braid. It all screams significance to me.
So, when it comes to significance, what role is it going to play by the end of the show? I really cannot see it being included and making Baylan’s character so nuanced and intriguing and then not doing anything with it.
Mundi and I were talking about this earlier today. I mentioned these main two points, but also this-
Tumblr media
And then Mundi had to drive the stake further through my heart and twist it around by basically saying what if Baylan’s dying act was giving Shin his crystal (still thinking about this mundi THANKS)
I said a stretch at first, but it doesn’t seem too far-fetched anymore (except for her becoming fully good). Now, I don’t want Baylan to die. He’s the last character I want to die and I love him, BUT…
How he dies? I have no idea. Thrawn, Morgan, Enoch? Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra? Betrayed by Shin? (very doubtful i feel) I think there’s a lot of options of how it could happen, if the cards are played right.
So if we think that’s the case, Shin is around when he dies or mortally wounded. Maybe she sees it happen to him like how he saw it happen to his last padawan. Shin is distraught, the most emotion we see from her because, well, it’s Baylan who’s trained her and borderline raised her, and they have a moment together before he passes. Baylan makes her take the crystal (which would hit a lot harder if it is his original one and did not belong to his padawan) and they have some sappy goodbye that’ll have me crying for six weeks.
We’ve also all talked about how Shin and subtext from some of her lines that indicates some sort of… longing or curiosity regarding the Jedi. If, within the last two episodes, those are confirmed or it’s revealed that Baylan could sense that feeling in Shin, i think (assuming he does die in this way) giving her his crystal makes sense.
Maybe she keeps it as sentimental in her own belt as I don’t see her turning fully to the Light in the show. But, if there’s another season, who knows.
Going back four paragraphs, I believe if it were Thrawn or Morgan who killed him or orchestrated his death, Shin would not follow them back. She’d go with Ahsoka and the Gang TM home in the purrgil mouths. She clearly hates Peridea and, if Ahsoka and the crew are there to witness Baylan’s death (for whatever reason), they could have sympathy on Shin maybe and help her home.
OK. I hope that covered those thoughts in a somewhat coherent fashion. Here’s where that chosen ignorance comes in.
Tumblr media
Shin’s braid. An anon actually sent a link to a tweet with both this AND the Baylan one in one post, so thank you nonnie for that!
Anyway. Shin’s braid. Three (four?) green kyber crystals.
Why.
Did they, for some reason, come from Baylan? Did he just have a cluster of them and he gave her a few to include in her braid?
If the braid was her idea, did she want them included in it? Did they still come from Baylan if that’s true? Did she want to feel that connected to the Jedi from the start of her apprenticeship with Baylan to include them in her braid?
If the braid was Baylan’s idea, did he include them? Weave them through the strands? Did he talk to her about including them? Including crystals in a padawan braid wasnt traditional, to my knowledge (not that they are traditional jedi). Was it some sort of selfish choice? Was the ghost of his padawan still lingering in the middle of these two that he felt he had to?
WHAT DOES IT MEAN. WHY ARE THEY THERE. WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE.
I NEED THEIR WHOLE STORY RIGHT NOW
