started working on an older unfinished project today which necessitated me trying to decipher my notes and plot outline from 4+ years ago (an outline that was actually already fucked anyway because I accidentally fucked up the chronology when I was actively writing it and never bothered to fix my notes) and can I just say. what in the shit does half of this mean

how much of your origin for dick is canon and how much of it are your own interpretations? wrt the interpretations, what inspired you to include them?

sooo it’s like a combo of stuff. i subscribe mostly to the backstory we get in dark victory, combined with the retcon from nightwing 96 #11 where dick spends some time in witsec/juvie before getting adopted by bruce. i try to mostly add on or extrapolate on what already exists in canon — like my interpretation of martha waynes pearls as an example — and a lot of that comes in from filling the substantial blanks in mary and johns characterisation

ive said before but i personally prefer that dick isn’t american and is actually, explicitly, a romani character who’s forcibly removed from his community by both trauma and the american legal system. i think it reflects consistently with how he’s written as a teen and adult — he literally finds community everywhere, even if he doesn’t want it, and possesses interpersonal skills that bruce can’t match — but also like…. provides more consistent motivation behind him becoming robin. the idea that possessing physical artefacts of the deceased is discouraged because of spiritual practise makes sense when u think about how dick tangibly honours his parents with the robin mantle. thusly, it makes even more sense why he’d later take the nightwing name to honour clark and the new connections in his life, yknow?

idk i try not to discard canon wholesale for him because he’s sooo foundational for legit every other character in that canon, and changing anything substantially affects everything else. there’d be no tim if tim hadn’t been at the circus that night and didn’t remember dicks kindness. none of the other kids would’ve been adopted if bruce hadn’t seen his own grief reflected in another child losing his parents on a stage. on and on it goes

I recently played the trilogy and haven't made it to the forth game yet (I don't know if I should because no Maya and I feel bad for him for losing his badge), could you please tell me what happens with Phoenix and alcoholism? (only if you feel like it)

definitely at least give aa4 a chance! its not for everyone but imo its got a ton of merit

gonna try and make this shortish because im not feeling super hot today and also because ive already said a lot of this. but essentially in AA4 there are bottles of what very heavily looks like wine but in both the english and japanese are referred to as bottles of grape juice

In AA4, stuff is pretty rough for phoenix. he's not in a great place, and he works odd hours at a russian bar/restaurant where he plays piano and poker. So he's regularly in a location where frequent exposure to alcohol is par for the course. Later on, in the game's second case, there's this interaction that occurs in the hospital when you investigate this bottle in his room.

Now, whether or not the game has any evidence for phoenix being an alcohol depends entirely on whether or not you interpret grape juice as being euphemistic for actual wine, or just a sight gag. I'm not sure how much the inclusion of alcohol boosts a game's rating.

i will say that none of the ace attorney games were M-rated until dual destinies. So it's entirely possible that they just called it 'grape juice' to avoid any sort of concern over that. however, i do remember reading that shu takumi's favorite drink is grape juice, which is why he wrote that in there, although I can't find the source for that now that i'm looking for it so take it with a grain of salt. I do think it is entirely plausible within the tone of ace attorney's humor that 'grape juice bottles that look exactly like wine and are just juice' is a gag they'd go for.

but the truth is, i kind of don't consider this debate relevant at all? you don't have to take the extreme of either interpretation. it is entirely possible that phoenix is a character with a fondness for grape juice who also struggles with alcohol. Maybe phoenix drinks wine when he's at the club and juice when he's at home.

It's a matter of public information that shu takumi drank pretty heavily while working on these games, including at the office if he worked nights or weekends, and it's also been well established that takumi based phoenix a lot on himself. so i think interpreting phoenix as a character with an addiction problem has a lot of merit. On the other hand, I do understand that that's not how some people view him, and that's totally fine. My big problem comes in when people try to act like it is impossible, ludicrous, or somehow harmful to the character's integrity to portray him as an addict.

I think when people try and 'disprove' the headcanon it's always a pretty shitty thing to do, given shu takumi's history. why can you enjoy something written by someone w/ alcohol issues but you draw the line at any of that making its way into the story, even euphemistically? yknow?

and second of, spoilers under the cut, bc im gonna ramble abt it now!!

so there's thing ive noticed of a few rewrites i have read before is that many times the authors take a lot of creative liberties while rewriting and, well, many of them interested me a lot ngl! most of them are full rewrites with almost no similarities to the og story that isnt the characters and maybe one or two plot points, and i think about them and it amazes me how one can change a characters story and still make it feel like the same character

but the thing about pastra's rewrite, is that they understands Who jeff the killer is and What jeff is, and not only gives the original story's Feeling an actual structure, but a Why for it too

and that starts with the who. jeff is a villain in most narratives that had included him before, even if the original creepypasta aimed (?) for him to be sort of the empathetic, like. back then he was but a kid, maybe a violent one, but a kid that fell to his most destructive urges nevertheless (and with this extra, irrational fear that i think was more of a personal observation when i first hear of this creepypasta when i was Really young, of "oh god, what if turn out like Him" since he was around my age then, but anyways.)

but this jeff is not a kid anymore, is actually of college age, and for most of this rewrite's narrative he is this looming terror on the loose; death with a rotting, self made smile. and as more things are revealed, and both the detectives and audience get closer to jeff, at first one would think is going with the same, empathetic route like the original, with the bullies and stuff, but since we already know how that goes, pastra actually Uses that to get people by surprise and… no, he isn't just a kid, or in this case a man, Driven to madness by circumstances. he starts a villain, ends a villain

which perfectly pictures what jeff as a concept was and is in essence:

a brutal, unpredictable force of violence; a monster

and that's what makes him scary again, because he is still a human after all, but his actions slowly take away that until only his appearance, no matter how mutilated it is by that point, is what anchors him to his humanity; a tether to it made out of a spider's web string

like i remember listening to the narration in the background while playing splatoon some days ago, and sometimes having to pause the game just to listen more attentively. and in some parts, specially towards the end, making me actually feel kinda scared, not only for liu (which is also Very well written and the role he plays to connect jeff's past to the present and reveal his true intentions is Amazing), but for every single one of the witnesses too

and then that part. that one part after staying convinced most of the video that this rewrite would follow a similar plot as the original, liu says "but no. it was just… jeff" LIKE- that legit gave me Chills, and minutes after jeff's infamous phrase Actually used well??? like as i said, this actually brought back some of that fear from the original, tho it mostly impressed me for the execution, but genuinely what the fuck (legit said out loud while listening "are they gonna- no they won't- HE DID…")

n. well, this is less about the creepypasta now, but just me thinking how good pastra's storytelling is, the story's structure feels so clean and interconnected, the pacing is so nice but it has that touch of his that is across all his videos. and the voice acting!! the man genuinely sounded insane when jeff did, is incredible :D

First New Years Eve anon here! I finished SLARPG after playing it any chance I could get. Literally everything I said held true or got better as the game went on. What a solid game, I felt the love in every moment.

Partway through, I got to wondering what it's like to finish a years-long project. I'm in the process of something like that, and I can't imagine life after The End, so your anniversary reflections post caught my eye. It felt like a future me had written it in a startling amount of ways. (Marketing is so hard ;_;)

A part that really stuck with me is how you described the story growing along with you. There were a few parts toward the beginning that felt distinctly mid-2010s (not in a bad way), but the narrative felt so cohesive that I would've assumed it was planned to the letter. As someone in a similar position, it's comforting to know there was some wiggle room. There's so much more I could say, but maybe not right now.

making sure the story felt cohesive was definitely tricky since the game was in development for so long. i mean, i knew the broad strokes of the story from the start, including the fact that it would get more serious as it progressed. That Sequence at the end of act ii was planned as a pivotal moment in the game since, like, 2015. but a lot of the back half of the game was only written after the demo was released in 2018, and my creative priorities shifted a lot in that time. so it took some work to make everything line up

i was still tweaking individual lines of dialogue in the script like, days before launch - particularly stuff earlier in the game that i was no longer quite as happy with, just to make sure everything fit together well enough and that things didn't come off as too dated. there are still a few jokes in act i where i'm like "ehh, that isn't as funny as i thought it was in 2016." but what can you do? that's just the linear progression of time for you

actually, if anything, before release i was worried that people would be put off by the darker and more dramatic elements of the game after i'd originally pitched it as being so goofy and lighthearted and cute. i had to fight the urge to insert more jokes into act iv out of a fear that people would get bored if the game stopped being funny, and i worried that people who had already grown attached to the characters through the demo and other preview material would get mad at me if i put melody and friends through the wringer. but thankfully people have responded really well to the more dramatic stuff, and the arc of the game as a whole, like i hoped they would

i'm extremely happy with how slarpg turned out overall, but if i was to write the story today, at age 30, i'm sure a lot of the writing would have turned out different. which is why the new thing i've been kicking around ideas for will probably be more mature and dramatic from the start. but we'll see

to reiterate and expand on what i kinda said in that post's tags: im genuinely cautious when it comes to the canonicity of deleted scenes and script changes for most things because, well, things dont get included in the final product for a reason sometimes.

trust me i know about deleted scenes. ive had months of work erased from existence because of deleted scenes. and sometimes it really was for the best

and im equally if not more skeptical of things like.. lore coming from outside sources. if its not in the original media, its questionable. film novelizations, game adaptions, spin-off comics, all that stuff is usually written by some third party with little to no input from the real writers. unless it gets some serious seal of approval and that shit actually gets referenced in the next film, then im like "ok im listening." Otherwise, i shrug it all off as maybe-canon side adventures until contradicted

sometimessss those nuggets of lore or characterization from deleted scenes/iffy canon off-shoot material are sick af so we just kind of adopt it anyway!!! we all do it!!!

Perez being charmed by him, the two of them having a cute little bonding moment as acquaintances for a moment there, and then STRAHM AGAIN being a butthead

i love them. i LOVE THEM

its very important to me that Perez kind of liked Hoffman. it makes his betrayal hurt so much more

also, i cant list off everything because theres so much its a little depressing, but there's a lot going on in the Saw 3D script that is tragically cool. they really leaned into Hoffman going off the deep end and i enjoyed that. and how grisly his scar was originally supposed to be, and the symbolism with his declining mental state. and his interactions with Lawrence being a little more fleshed out. its just kind of neat. i think the film would have been a bit stronger if they stuck closer to a few of their earlier ideas

edit: OH MY GOD HOW CAN I FORGET ABOUT DELETED FILMED SCENES LIKE THE ROCKSTAR MOMENT. THAT HAPPENED OK U CANNOT TELL ME OTHERWISE. and amanda is 100% haunted by what she did to Adam

and as for spin-offs that are absolutely not canon, this description of Hoffman from the video game from Tapp's POV is intriguing.

i love annoying and weird colleague Hoffman but i also really enjoy the idea of shy and weird colleague Hoffman.

also, boring cop Hoffman who wont bend the rules? that is so much more interesting than the hashtag brutality moment.

hi :] this isnt really a reqest cuz it'll prob be a longer answer but im rlly curious abt ur comic process

i love all ur comics and somehow they always manage to gutpunch me- and ur composition and the way they read is always so beautiful and adds so much to the message youre trying to get across

yeah lol let's get into it! Ive spent maybe 5 or so years refining this process to the point it's at now so it's pretty much my standard procedure now. I'm going to use Now that you're gone as my primary example here since i still have most of the planning stages associated with it (my laptop does not have a whole lot of storage left so i usually delete my planning once the comic is finished lol) but i'll try to throw in some other examples too!

I almost always start with a written script. (the exception for this is longform oc comics which i find easier to write in the moment, but for my shorter character studies I almost always write first.) I use discord to write because it's convenient, but before i had a dedicated discord server for my stuff i was using txt files on my laptop which i do NOT recommend. anyway, this is what the written script for ntyg looked like:

note that some small elements changed in production, like the amount of time that had passed since link's death. the lines "I look at her and i am only afraid. i remember all the ways in which i hurt you. She's almost as old now as you were then. I cannot stand the thought of outliving her, too" were also added during the rough stage because i felt like there wasn't quite enough emphasis on aryll in the initial script, and since this was a major change that necessitated a whole extra page in the comic I went back and edited those lines into the script so I wouldn't forget them. (both these changes were made during the rough stage. i'll almost never make major script adjustments after the roughs are finished.)

more examples of my scripts; specifically the original script for totk: failure and two versions of oot: adulthood (one before some major refining and one after.) with comics like these, where i have a very clear idea in my head of the imagery i want to go along with the words, i'll sometimes include it interspersed in the script, either spolier-marked or denoted with brackets.

with ntyg and some of my other more. canon divergent? i guess? comics, there's sort of a mini phase in between scripting and roughs where I do some minor character studies to get designs nailed down in the early stages. with ntyg I already had a clear image in my mind for aryll, but the central character was link's dad, whose design wasn't quite so solid in my head. I really wanted to make sure that his design was well thought-out and consistent throughout everything, so i did a few mini sketches and studies to ensure I had his design memorized and could execute it consistently:

these are sans hair and accessories because nailing down consistent facial features was my main focus with them, and both these sketches ended up getting used as references for certain panels later on. This isn't a step I ALWAYS take with my comics, but if there's a central character that i'm not super used to drawing i find it helpful to get some practice in before jumping into the real thing!

after the scripting and design phases i move on to roughs, which I consider to be the most important stage in my process. roughs are very very quick approximations of what I want the final pages to look like. they usually don't take me more than a few minutes per page to create, and their sole purpose is to help me visualize the flow of the page and the placement of major elements like panels, characters, and dialog. this is what the 1st page rough for ntyg looked like compared to the final page:

as you can see, all i have laid out is the major text and visual elements, but it really helps me to visualize how the finished comic is going to flow. i do the roughs for every page before i start on the finals so that i have an idea of what the entire comic is going to look like before I really start finalizing it. it's important that these roughs are FAST--i almost never draw fully-fledged characters unless the pose or expression is particularly important to the scene, and that's because the goal is to allow everything to flow quickly and easily from panel to panel and page to page, and getting too caught up on one panel or element often breaks that flow. Nowadays, i have a pretty good idea of how much room my writing takes up so i don't write out the entire script in my roughs, but back when i was a little less experienced i took the time to write everything out in this stage to ensure that my dialog would fit into the space it was given without getting cramped or cutting off other important elements. doing that really helped me build awareness of how much dialog and panel placement matters and how i could use it, so this rough stage is non-negotiable for me even now!

after the roughs i go straight into finalization. I never enjoyed lineart back when i was learning to draw digitally so i basically built my art style to be understandable and visually appealing after one sketch phase, meaning there's legitimately no in-between stage between that rough and that final page, i just sort of. go for it. this is what works for me, but i think most normal people would probably find a second sketch phase helpful LMAO i'm just crazy and i need everything done as fast as possible. the finalization stage usually doesn't contain any major adjustments of script, composition, etc; i make it a general rule to keep most of the major adjustments confined to the earlier stages, for my own sanity. One thing that DOES occasionally change in this stage is my plans for color--ntyg in particular was originally planned to be completely black-and-white with no grays added, but when looking at my completed pages i found them sort of empty and unengaging without the gray, so i added it. usually if my color plans DO change it's something small like that--I'll almost never switch between full-color and grayscale on a whim because the way that i sketch for those two versions differs significantly so it isn't an easy switch to make.

anyways i hope this is what you were looking for! I'm very passionate about making comics and this process is a result of years of experimentation & finding what works for me, but i hope it's of some use to you as well!

if u dont know already i am a huge homestuck nerd who LOVES classpecting so it is pretty much inevitable that i will make a homestuck au out of any media im currently into. and raincode is no exception!

so. heres a part one of i think 5 (unless i change my mind and include more than 2 characters per post) featuring yuma and makoto bcuz theyre the protag/main antag duo so its only expected to do them first i think.

ive written their descriptions first so theyre kinda shitty but the general idea is there. plz note that i am by no means a Writer and i do not have great Writing Skills so dont expect many convoluted sentences and stuff. this is mostly just for me and i try so hard to prioritize having fun over sounding cool or smart

OKAY SO i have not read the full succ scripts back to front, ive been looking at some posted on twitter mostly around tom and greg bc. i like them. some stuff, im glad they didn't include, others, i am sad we missed.

I actually really liked the scene with Disgusting Brothers, LLC. Hilarious that Greg cannot even reference licking cunt or pussy. gayass.

i think in some ways it may be redundant, because we already know Greg is trying to cheer tom up, checking in on his eating and sleeping and such but, at the same time,

It really shows that Greg is trying to continue this dynamic that was implied to have been established between seasons that we barely got to see, mostly in s1e1, while Tom is pulling away due to Stress and not giving Greg the attention Greg has clearly come to expect from him?

Greg even says "I did this for you". There is no way you can convince me he is sleeping around for the sake of it, or because he likes it, what he likes about it is getting to hang out with Tom and being Tom's friend and having a special nickname with Tom. even if it's platonic, his best guy friend is more important to him than the women he's apparently sleeping with (again. he can't even say 'licking cunt' like sir you are an adult, you don't have to act like girls have cooties)

The one part i don't like, however... why they would make it explicit only now that Greg is actually in contact with his dad, when his only mentions before were used as a weapon against Greg because he's Gay and presumably ran off

To me, it throws so much about Greg into question and makes me feel crazy. Were were not supposed to read Greg as someone abandoned by his gay father and having issues stemming from that?

This has always been an issue, for me, with how succession treats it's side characters. Even if we don't SEE the backstory, I vastly prefer it when the storytellers HAVE one that is guiding the character's actions, and for this line to have been written, it makes me feel like Greg doesn't, or that I have wildly misunderstood the subtext/hints up until now.

Because, if Greg were actually in contact with his absent gay father, why would he not have hit him up for support earlier? And "Family whatsapp" what??? with his cousins? or with his mom and dad!?! i was under the assumption Marianne didn't talk to her presumably ex-husband. I thought we were meant to think that Greg's Dad, by virtue of being gay, was probably pushed out of the Roy family because he would besmirch their fox-news conservative rep, or that he left to slut it up once he was found out and couldn't hack it being with a Roy.

It's a small moment but, to me, it's just..... wild how it goes against everything I thought I knew about Greg.

The rest of the scene I did like, though. Licking Lots of You Know What, hehe.

Hi!! Im someone who played the fuck out of destiny 1, played some of 2 but dropped off right around the start of the osiris campaign. Ive picked up the game again but i used to be insanely into the lore but im extremely fucking lost now. whats a good way to catch up???

You can check out Destiny Lore Vault which has playlists for every expansion and season and all quests and dialogues so you can go release by release if you want to just experience it by yourself with no commentary. Kinda like a playthrough. Ishtar Collective can also help with all of the written lore, which is sectioned by release.

There should be playthroughs around as well, though I'm not familiar with any in particular: whenever I want some, I just find a no-commentary playthrough that works best for me.

If you'd like it narrated, you can check out My Name is Byf on youtube, he's recently made a 10 hour video summary of everything in lore up until The Final Shape. This includes literally all lore about everything in the universe, so if you're only interested in stuff after you stopped playing, you can cut that much shorter. Though there's been a lot of new information about the universe that's expanded much of the lore known in D1 so I think you'd probably be better of with the whole thing. It should be helpful to give you an orientation about stuff that happened and give you enough knowledge about the basics.

There's other summaries about "everything that happened" and much shorter ones but i'm not sure how much i trust them. When I decided to get into lore, Byf had a 4 hour video about everything that happened up to Shadowkeep which was enough for me to understand the basics and then get into it myself, so I'd assume his new one would function in a similar way. I'm not sure if shorter ones would be equally good; it's already a huge undertaking and much of the details will be missing anyway, but I think it's a good starting point from which you can build on.

Ok i wasnt gonna post this but ive been told by a friend to explain why some might ship Kagehina so... try me. i dont exactly ship this myself but lets just say im a pro when it comes to this topic also it's not as bad as i thought it was there are worse ships idk why i was a hater also i lowkey got some of this from shipping wiki but most of it i knew already, plus NOT ALL OF THIS IS NECESSARILY REFERENCES TO THE SHIP it kinda just adds on to it anyways lets just get into it

ok so starting with common knowledge i think everyone knows that Hinata is the protagonist followed with Kageyama being the deuteragonist, they get the most screen time together and are pretty much paired MOST of the series, we get a lot of content with them together while also getting content of them on their own, they're known as the "freak duo," the "greatest teammates" and like 100 other names they've been called I've seen a lot of people intemperate their relationship wrong, I've seen a few say Kageyama was downright "abusive" to Hinata which I think is a little farfetched, but to each their own! They genuinely do care for each other and it shows, even at the end of the manga you can tell how far their relationship has come, even if they consider themselves rivals, they are without a doubt still friends Now a lot of people have said "well they're not gay they're just friends", while this is true, it has been referenced/implied officially in many places, including manga panels and english dubs, so while it isn't canon there is a few cute things about it which we know are official which is why I'm sharing this, I myself know it isn't canon, plus I didn't really make this to prove anything it was kinda for fun sorry if that made little to no sense but I'll start getting into more interesting stuff 1. at the tip of the iceberg we have the fact they're in so much official art together

Hi anon! I don’t mind at all!!

So GLBH has been outline for a little over two years now. Since then, ive taken into account how long chapters are and what all plot points I want to hit. Some later chapters are already written (such as the ending!) and some are just plot beats. Knowing how long chapters are, and how my pacing is, I know that glbh will end at around 60 chapters. I’m giving myself wiggle room of about 5 chapters five or take on either end, but 60 is what ive felt very confident on! This doesn’t include an epilogue tho!

But I can see myself only hitting 55 as well. It all depends on how quickly we move through, and how content I am with that pacing and the plot beats! This is also because I anticipate about 10k word chapters, and I always sorta thought I’d end around the 600k mark (rn we’re just over 410k at chapter 37, which I’m happy with).

At the end of the day, everyone can be confident in 50+ chapters! But sweet spot I’m aiming for is 60! The ending remains the same all throughout, and I just need to edit things based off of how writing has gone! This is true in any writing project tbh. The ending isn’t tweaked because I changed it, but characterizations always influence that stuff so I just wanna make sure things stay consistent (as I rn have to edit the ending of my original novel that goes on submission with my agent soon, as the general idea stays the same, but the revised build up has changed, so gotta adjust!).

we don’t talk about it (deanjohn) - MY FAV FIC that ive written!! :) i love love love this fic & im super satisfied with how it came out. i experimented with a 2nd POV bc i saw some other deanjohn fics use it and i think it fits perfectly. its also angsty smut which is just soo. ugh. i love angsty smutty deanjohn & i think i created something equally haunting & enticing with this one.

smoke-soaked leather (wincest) - my first spn fic! it’s a slowburn casefic that’s set during s1. i focused on dean’s self worth issues here. i wanted to write in his self harm in a way that’d be canon accurate while also focusing on how its actually serious self injurious behaviour. i think i did a good balancing act here, plus im proud of the case fic it came together nicely uwu

rend apart the flesh of my soul (wincest) - woundfucking smut baybeeee!!!! this is purely hedonistic (but also angsty because of course it is) but its one of my favs. sooo visceral and gut wrenching in a very sexy way. gotta love early szns for its insanity.

closeted transfem dean hc - my ramblings about dean through the series if he was mtf. angsty ending bc in this hc she never does come out or accept herself. i constantly think about this hc and im in the process of writing a fic about it that will hopefully be out next year !!

uhhh written half-asleep summary

so basically this is ori

he's a partial celestial that had his body reformed and his soul revived after getting killed by his best friend, basically.

before i give the rough summary, this guy is a terraria oc. fae is a terraria oc. this will involve terraria lore. notable things are the moon lord, the cultists worshiping the moon lord, the lunatic cultist [the character ori derived from], the calamity mod, and stardust celestials.

the reasoning for the terraria background is that ori came from a playthrough of the calamity mod that happened right after a vanilla run. where I was like "haha wouldn't it be cool if the lunatic cultist from the previous playthrough ended up as a character?" because we had already been making characters with personalities n stuff because the group I played with are all avid writers and/or artists. including me

their character arc centers around uncovering their old memories and coming to terms with themself and their actions. generally just learning how to stop living in the past

this is Tia [who isn't my character]

she belongs to @postinguntilitransitionnn, who doesn't actually have terraria and so her entire thing was being intangible until Ori kills the god that cursed her. tia is in a romantic relationship with Ori and takes care of Ori whenever he reverts to a fluffy noodle.

this is Janaier [who also isn't my character]

he belongs to someone who isn't on tumblr. this guy ""domesticates"" Ori (teaches them social norms after being cooped up in a shelter for a few years) and is their best friend. they go through a lot of traumatizing events together. also he has an edgy backstory and is sexually ambiguous

under the cut is the """backstory""" of Ori [which is 2 years old and is yet to be rewritten/revamped.]

this backstory is kind of outdated so yeah

I'm making a really rough summary but he was raised in a cult worshiping an eldritch after the family that was [barely] taking care of him was kind of killed by his uh best friend at the time, the guy with the hat that I draw sometimes. he isn't my character. the killing was totally justified tho because they kind of kidnapped him to get ori to kill him as proper initiation into the cult. dedicate yourself to the moon lord via sacrificing someone close to you!!!! so yeah after his family is killed he's taken in by the cult his family was a part of and eventually rose to leadership. and then he gets killed by his best friend. and then gets revived by cult escapees. i guess uhmmm

this backstory is from 2 years ago and I haven't changed a single thing about it since I thought about it with my friend at the time and like saying it out loud I should really properly write down a few things because the summary sounds nutty (sobbing emoji here)

How Did You Meet !?

i. since childhood, you were passionate about dance, "dance didn't take you anywhere but seduce strange men" as for what your parents and relatives said... ii. society never gave chance to women to do great things, growing they were taught to bear kids and be gentle and caring figures to them. iii. if none of that, women would become toys that men could play with and throw anytime, and following those footsteps you became what your parents warned you the most about iv. you regretted your life decisions and remembered those words of your parents, who now refused to even recognize you as their daughter and even look at you v. you danced in many functions including the royal court/ceremonies where men would look at you in a certain way that made you feel uncomfortable, you tried to ignore those gazes full of lust and desire pinned on you, but for how long....? vi. until on one shocking day, an order came for you to perform in the heavenly court of svarga, how was this possible?...an order to perform in heaven?... vii. the gods gathered to see a mortal's dance, thought of it disgusted them but Brahma insisted on telling them it was worth the while, especially to the lord of svarga, Shiva who was said to be passionate about dance as well viii. entering the court, you were nervous standing in front of the gods all alone, you took a deep breath to calm yourself down, you knew if you messed up or failed to satisfy them you will be sentenced to death, Brahma sitting on his throne clapped his hands once signaling the music to start. ix. as music played, you started dancing following the rhythm, you danced gracefully in front of the entire court, as the gods gasped, they had to admit Brahma was right, their gaze focused on you and your moves, or was for your body x. especially the pair of eyes of those of Shiva, who was fascinated by this human, it seemed that he already had made plans to make you his wife... xi. as the music finally stopped with your dance, you bowed down, as the gods clapped and Brahma raised his head proudly looking at you xii. "the court is dismissed" Brahma said, as you nodded and walked away with the musicians who showered you with compliments, after that day you became well known around your area and heavens for your dance but there was something else that bothered you now, you felt someone was following and looking at your every action.

Aftermath

i. It was Shiva all along, who followed you and observed your every action, even secretly attending the performances you made. ii. things started to get too intense when he started "borrowing" your stuff by sneaking into your room when you were not around and taking your belongings. iii. it was nothing cause at times it went unnoticed, so he started sending creepy notes written in an ancient language, and disturbing gifts like someone's heart, the note beside it "it's the heart of the man who looked at in a wrong way, no one dares to look at you the way I do" iv. these events disturbed you terribly, that you canceled all the performances you were supposed to make, you were scared, and you wanted to run away but you couldn't cause you had a hard time achieving the life you had now v. Shiva enjoyed the fear he had caused you. after it was all part of his plan to enter your life and make you fall in love with him vi. He ordered his servants to bring you to him, and when you arrived he hugged you tightly with his four arms as you tried to push him away, you failed cause he was too strong vii. he forced you to marry him and forcingly ascended you to become the goddess of music and dance.

How Would He Treat You !?

i. Shiva, is a sadistic yandere, who doesn't hesitate to make a pool of blood when it comes to you... ii. Including those who bad-mouthed you iii. He'll order you to perform for him anytime, anywhere iv. He gives you special treatment compared to his wives, giving you the title "Shiva's favorite wife" by the other gods v. He will most likely lock you up in a room and allow only servants and maids to enter vi. He'll try to win your heart by giving the best of the best things coming from the corners of India, the only thing you have to do is ask vii. He won't tolerate you talking rudely to him, as he expects you to treat him nicely for what he has done for you. viii. Calls you: Meri Jaan(My Life), (Name), Love ix. If you do something against him, he would pull you by your hair(ouch), and drag you to a special room he made for "punishment/saza", he'll tie you up and use a heated metal rod but not one but four!! to burn you, in the portion that are weak that does not include vital cause after your his love. That's why you have many wounds on your body that you have to cover with clothes and foundation(did it exist at that time? Idk man don't mind it) x. the day he gives you punishment, he'll come to your room after 2-3 hours later and kiss you gently on your head and hug you, or make out with you which is also forced(rip your virginity).
