For some reason while listening to season 4 i just randomly decided that when Jon woke up from the coma he was blind. Like everything he saw during the Unknowing permanently damaged his eyes. He doesn't notice this bc he just Sees everything instead. Everyone else notices obviously but it's just never brought up. I think i've seen some art where his eyes were white from damage and i just think that'd be very interesting.

Okay, you know those inconsequential moments in movies and shows where something is done or said but it doesn’t matter until the Protagonist connects things/uses the info later?
Enter Danny.
This is a small job that he does while working with Clockwork. Danny walks around doing or saying things that might move the time stream to the ‘ideal’ outcome. Does he know how it helps? Nah, just that it does since he knows the slightest change can have big impacts. He doesn’t know exactly how long he’s been doing it in this universe, but it’s something to do.
Tim, the Connector of Dots, has recently caught onto a pattern of things, but he’s not sure what he’s looking at.

How do worker drones grow in your AU?
Do they grow faster or just as slowly as humans?
i was compiling some of my personal headcanons so might as well share em here!! I'd say faster tbh but theres a lot of variables that go into it too
When making Worker Drones, they could use the good Ol' JCJenson Standard Personality Ready2Go AIs with preset skills, knowledge, etc that evolve over time on a mature frame (prefab Drones i.e Khan, Nori, Yeva, the Teacher.. Gen 0 created by humans)
Orrrr the more "home grown" route of cultivating new neural pathways into a one-of-a-kind unique Drone AI (UNN Drones i.e Uzi, Lizzy, Thad.. Gen 1 made on Copper-9) that need a more hands-on learning approach than just downloading information.
Dronekind learned how to make UNNs on their own without human intervention, so a lot with rearing the First Gens was a guessing game of what works lol. Each Drone matures differently so some reach adulthood sooner than others, it just depends on what their codes require. They do mimic humans, but are still robots at the end of the day
Nori, being paranoid the first time mom with Uzi, carried her for like 11 months which is why she's so similar to her mom. But with Porter, Nori carried for far less so the lil tyke is a good mix of both Khan and Nori's traits!

I fuck deeply with Laudna's "what makes you think apathy is better than disdain?" It's a beautiful line to back up Orym's arguments
We don't think too hard about the ants we're stepping on when we have our own problems to worry about. What makes Liliana think that Predathos won't step on Exandria to get to its prey?

Having now finished reading the Murderbot Diaries, I'm poking through parts of earlier books, and right now I'm thinking a whole lot about This:
I said, “At some point approximately 35,000 hours ago, I was assigned to a contract on RaviHyral Mining Facility Q Station. During that assignment, I went rogue and killed a large number of my clients. My memory of the incident was partially purged.” SecUnit memory purges are always partial, due to the organic parts inside our heads. The purge can’ t wipe memory from organic neural tissue. “I need to know if the incident occurred due to a catastrophic failure of my governor module. That’s what I think happened. But I need to know for sure.” I hesitated, but what the hell, it already knew everything else. “I need to know if I hacked my governor module in order to cause the incident.” […] “Either I killed them due to a malfunction and then hacked the governor module, or I hacked the governor module so I could kill them.”
Now, my assumption the first go around was always that the sequence of events went something like Mass murder happens > Memory purged > Governor hacked. Something along the lines of Murderbot waking up with all its digital memories gone but its meatbrain still screaming about the horrors, to which it responds by borking the governor module. And I've seen one or two other posts that seem to make the same general assumption.
But that can't be the case, because if it happened after the purge then Murderbot would remember it. It would have a clear, cold-hard-facts record of "this is the moment I deactivated my governor module" and this whole passage wouldn't be a question. So it can only be Mass murder happens > Governor hacked > Memory purged.
Now, we don't know anything at all about the incident and the following hack, apart from what Murderbot remembers and learns. It's possible there was some sort of gap— The company picks Murderbot out of the bloodbath, assesses the malfunctioning SecUnit for a little while (during which it hacks the governor module), and then decides to wipe it.
Just as likely (and IMO more compelling) is the possibility that Murderbot hacked it during the incident. SecUnit with a particular proclivity towards hacking recognizes that something is VERY WRONG with its governor module, it does not want to be doing all this murder, it hacks the module and shuts down due to a combination of physical damage and mental distress.
Then it wakes up with no cold-hard-data type memories, just a borked governor module and the account of its squishy meatparts to go on. It's pretty sure it knows what happened, at least in the broad strokes. But four years later, with the horrors no longer freshly screaming in its ear, it can't quite be sure.

Random idea snippet that doesn't really fit into my current time travel fic:
S5 jmart travel back to their S1 bodies and are still trying to keep both the time travel and their relationship secret from everyone as they figure out what they actually want to do. Somehow (Tim) the idea of doing an escape room as a team bonding activity gets suggested, and while s1 Jon would have just scoffed at the idea, S5 Jon is surprisingly okay with it (he missed Tim and Sasha too much to really consider saying no). They decide to split into teams and see which pair can beat their room faster, Tim and Sasha vs Jon and Martin (From Tim and Sasha's perspective it's all really to help the other two start getting along, they've been more polite at work recently and Jon hasn't said anything excessively mean in a couple of weeks so they probably won't kill each other when locked in a room together).
If they'd actually been their S1 selves they likely wouldn't succeed, Jon would think it's too cheesy and stupid and Martin would be too nervous to actually offer any suggestions. It's still cheesy and stupid, but s5 Martin finds it charming, and s5 Jon finds it charming that Martin finds it charming (not that that stops him from making fun of everything even as he himself gets way too into it). They're both very clever in their own ways and would pick up on clues the other might not notice, and they genuinely work well together, especially when the stakes are as low as "our coworkers will tease us if we don't solve this stupid puzzle"
They bicker the whole time and it's the most fun either of them have had in ages
Tim and Sasha are utterly dismayed to find that Jon and Martin solved their room a good minute before they did

i love you atsushi i love your vague and immeasurable purpose i love how fear motivates you more than your values i love how you can forgive any wrongdoing until it’s against you. i love how you carry guilt with you always. i love how your kindness is selfish and most of all i love how you’re too painfully realistic to fit the character archetype people want from you
