"It's dinnertime. In our house." Duke mutters, while doing a very bad job of concealing his yawn. He holds his fork poised over the braised beef, but, just like everyone else, still looks towards Danny before tucking in. It's intriguing enough to wait.

"Yeah, no one misses Alfie's dinner." Dick says, with a brilliant smile that Danny can't help but return.

"Precisely! What better time to talk to you all than when you're all actually here!"

"Wait, I thought you came round to work on our English essays?" Tim asks, blinking owlishly.

"I'm afraid I've lured you here under false pretences, Tim."

"This is where I live."

"I would still really appreciate help on that essay though, I mean, what the hell is Hamlet even about? I just don't get that old time-y language, like 'Hark! A ghost hath killed me!' - absolute rubbish, what does that even mean?"

"The ghost never kills anyone in Hamlet, he's there to tell Hamlet that he was murdered. Have you actually read it?"

Replaying the Ossuary knowing that Rook can't swim is hilarious because they are already having the worst day of their life for too many consecutive days, and now they are surrounded by all that water they are probably terrified of (honestly knowing how to swim wouldn't save them if the wards failed, but it's the mental factor you know), looking for that guy who is only MAYBE alive. MAYBE still the skilled assassin other people think he is bc gods know what the Venatori even did to him in that entire year.

And then, against all odds, Rook finds Lucanis alive and (visibly) well and is like "WHEW we can leave now" only for him to say "no we are NOT leaving the underwater torture facility actually". And the blood thing is reasonable at least, but a *contract*?? He's been in that prison for a year, that prison (that is UNDERWATER) is coming apart at the seams (they are all going to DROWN!!), and he cares about some fucking contract???

That was not love at first sight I'm afraid. Idk about other people's Rooks but Lucanis is lucky mine didn't just knock him out and drag him back to the boat

He reminds her of a sleeping, dreaming, dog the way he moves. Whimpering and limbs jerking. He's curled around her from behind. She grabs his much larger hand in hers and squeezes it gently. Reassures him that she's here. The hand clutches hers desperately almost painfully. She doesn't put up with discomfort for him but she allows him to squeeze her hand like that then. His movements still.

He wakes next day baffled that he slept through the whole night. Konrad Curze has, not once in his whole life, slept through the night without waking. His cheeks are unusually warm. He keeps sleeping through the night with her.

He had slinked into her quarters once when sleeping seperately and asked, like a child, if they could share a bed because of his nightmares. He had been beyond embarrassed to ask this. Her only concern had been that her bed would be to small for him to be comfortable. She could sleep in his. In truth he could also coil up and be comfortable, he had slept worse places. She had welcomed him with open arms. Both litterally and figuratively.

It's common for him to shake when experiencing a form of physical affection he is unused to. Whimpering and shaking during a cuddle. When she runs her fingers through his hair.

This happens with exceptionally gently or "mild" things too. He's endured violence and torture and a kiss on the cheek has him trembling. The touch nothing "severe", but ironically it is the very fact that it IS gentle that breaks him.

The first time they have sex he shakes too. So much and so violently that she had to stop and reaffirm that he still wanted this because he looked panicking. He does, he burns for it, he's just not used to affection and he still can't believe that she wants him. That anyone does.

She does go into his bed at some point, but he is also very much capeable of curling up in fetal posistion around her and being comfy.

13. How do they feel about death? Does it make them curious or scared? Do they wish to understand it or do they simply accept it?
