oh my goood the home fic is done. I was hoping I could post it before the new episode today but it's past midnight here and I have work in the morning and realistically it needs a good edit (and of course it ended up longer than I thought it would)...
But it will be up at some point on the weekend! Can't wait to share it (and say thank you for the patience everyone has shown for this one).
#911#writing#rambling#i really should be in bed but i was finally on a roll and I just wanted to get it written down#but yeah I think this experience has shown me that I should definitely go back to writing fics in full before posting them#instead of relying on a buffer#because my buffer was nowhere near enough for this one#and trying to keep up the same writing output with the current state of my mental health is clearly not gonna happen#but genuinely i am so happy to have wrapped this one up in a way I'm satisfied with#we're bringing on so much found family fluff

I LOVE Dungeon Meshi's Realistic Fantasy Races
Ok, I had to stop for a moment to gush about the fantasy races of Dunmeshi, and all the consideration that's been put into them, because they actually follow a degree of natural/evolutionary logic not found in most fantasy stories!
Half-Foots (halflings/hobbits):
So we all know these fellows have excellent hearing and smell, but have you considered WHY? It's an adaptation to counteract their size. Humans (called tallmen in this setting) rely so much on eyesight because we're really tall compared to most animals, giving us a fantastic vantage of our environment. Half-Foots don't have this advantage, and therefore rely on their other senses. It's also much more important for them to be able to detect unseen threats and move quickly, because their size makes them ill-equipped for direct conflict.
Dwarves:

So Dwarves are depicted as MUCH stronger than tallmen despite their size, right? This is because strength is determined not by size, but by mass, and dwarven bodies are very dense! Yet this comes with the downside of their bodies burning more energy and overheating much faster, which is why dwarves are also shown to be heat-resistant, and why they tend to wear lighter clothing that exposes more skin! Their night-vision is also better than humans' due to their semi-underground lifestyle, while their hearing remains about the same since sound naturally carries in caves. Their hairiness is also likely a direct adaptation to counteract magic, as it's been shown to form a natural buffer when left unwashed.
Gnomes:
Gnomes are supposed to be evolutionary cousins to dwarves, and it shows! They share a similar height, but are less muscular and have peculiarly-shaped ears, almost mirroring the difference between human and elven ears. Their affinity with nature and spirits also makes sense, because physically they're in an awkward spot compared to the other short races, lacking both the hefty strength of dwarves and the light nimbleness of half-foots. Being less equipped both for fight and flight, it makes sense they'd instead adapt the instinctive ability to read their environments and mitigate its threats through cohabitation.
Elves:
Like gnomes, elves are in a physically awkward place, however it's even more extreme. Their relatively light and weak bodies make them ill-equipped for direct conflict, and while likely able to move faster than tallmen due to weight, they lack the half-foot's danger-detection senses. This makes them seemingly helpless, however interestingly it actually explains why they're so advanced compared to other races! They were basically forced to coordinate problem-solve, and control their environments out of necessity, which is reflected in their more controlling and direct relationship with magic and nature compared to gnomes.
This actually mirrors the real-world difference between humans and neanderthals. Anthropologists believe neanderthals weren't actually dumber than humans, but that their superior strength and durability meant they weren't forced to problem-solve or control their environments like humans, meaning they seemed less advanced.

DXVK Tips and Troubleshooting: Launching The Sims 3 with DXVK
A big thank you to @heldhram for additional information from his recent DXVK/Reshade tutorial! ◀ Depending on how you launch the game to play may affect how DXVK is working.
During my usage and testing of DXVK, I noticed substantial varying of committed and working memory usage and fps rates while monitoring my game with Resource Monitor, especially when launching the game with CCMagic or S3MO compared to launching from TS3W.exe/TS3.exe.
It seems DXVK doesn't work properly - or even at all - when the game is launched with CCM/S3MO instead of TS3W.exe/TS3.exe. I don't know if this is also the case using other launchers from EA/Steam/LD and misc launchers, but it might explain why some players using DXVK don't see any improvement using it.
DXVK injects itself into the game exe, so perhaps using launchers bypasses the injection. From extensive testing, I'm inclined to think this is the case.
Someone recently asked me how do we know DXVK is really working. A very good question! lol. I thought as long as the cache showed up in the bin folder it was working, but that was no guarantee it was injected every single time at startup. Until I saw Heldhram's excellent guide to using DXVK with Reshade DX9, I relied on my gaming instincts and dodgy eyesight to determine if it was. 🤭
Using the environment variable Heldhram referred to in his guide, a DXVK Hud is added to the upper left hand corner of your game screen to show it's injected and working, showing the DXVK version, the graphics card version and driver and fps.
This led me to look further into this and was happy to see that you could add an additional line to the DXVK config file to show this and other relevant information on the HUD such as DXVK version, fps, memory usage, gpu driver and more. So if you want to make sure that DXVK is actually injected, on the config file, add the info starting with:
dxvk.hud =
After '=', add what you want to see. So 'version' (without quotes) shows the DXVK version. dxvk.hud = version
You could just add the fps by adding 'fps' instead of 'version' if you want.
The DXVK Github page lists all the information you could add to the HUD. It accepts a comma-separated list for multiple options:
devinfo: Displays the name of the GPU and the driver version.
fps: Shows the current frame rate.
frametimes: Shows a frame time graph.
submissions: Shows the number of command buffers submitted per frame.
drawcalls: Shows the number of draw calls and render passes per frame.
pipelines: Shows the total number of graphics and compute pipelines.
descriptors: Shows the number of descriptor pools and descriptor sets.
memory: Shows the amount of device memory allocated and used.
allocations: Shows detailed memory chunk suballocation info.
gpuload: Shows estimated GPU load. May be inaccurate.
version: Shows DXVK version.
api: Shows the D3D feature level used by the application.
cs: Shows worker thread statistics.
compiler: Shows shader compiler activity
samplers: Shows the current number of sampler pairs used [D3D9 Only]
ffshaders: Shows the current number of shaders generated from fixed function state [D3D9 Only]
swvp: Shows whether or not the device is running in software vertex processing mode [D3D9 Only]
scale=x: Scales the HUD by a factor of x (e.g. 1.5)
opacity=y: Adjusts the HUD opacity by a factor of y (e.g. 0.5, 1.0 being fully opaque).
Additionally, DXVK_HUD=1 has the same effect as DXVK_HUD=devinfo,fps, and DXVK_HUD=full enables all available HUD elements.
desiree-uk notes: The site is for the latest version of DXVK, so it shows the line typed as 'DXVK_HUD=devinfo,fps' with underscore and no spaces, but this didn't work for me. If it also doesn't work for you, try it in lowercase like this: dxvk.hud = version Make sure there is a space before and after the '=' If adding multiple HUD options, seperate them by a comma such as: dxvk.hud = fps, memory, api, version
The page also shows some other useful information regarding DXVK and it's cache file, it's worth a read. (https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk)
My config file previously showed the DXVK version but I changed it to only show fps. Whatever it shows, it's telling you DXVK is working! DXVK version:
DXVK FPS:
The HUD is quite noticeable, but it's not too obstructive if you keep the info small. It's only when you enable the full HUD using this line: dxvk.hud = full you'll see it takes up practically half the screen! 😄 Whatever is shown, you can still interact with the screen and sims queue.
So while testing this out I noticed that the HUD wasn't showing up on the screen when launching the game via CCM and S3MO but would always show when clicking TS3W.exe. The results were consistent, with DXVK showing that it was running via TS3W.exe, the commited memory was low and steady, the fps didn't drop and there was no lag or stuttereing. I could spend longer in CAS and in game altogether, longer in my older larger save games and the RAM didn't spike as much when saving the game. Launching via CCM/S3MO, the results were sporadic, very high RAM spikes, stuttering and fps rates jumping up and down. There wasn't much difference from DXVK not being installed at all in my opinion.
You can test this out yourself, first with whatever launcher you use to start your game and then without it, clicking TS3.exe or TS3W.exe, making sure the game is running as admin. See if the HUD shows up or not and keep an eye on the memory usage with Resource Monitor running and you'll see the difference. You can delete the line from the config if you really can't stand the sight of it, but you can be sure DXVK is working when you launch the game straight from it's exe and you see smooth, steady memory usage as you play. Give it a try and add in the comments if it works for you or not and which launcher you use! 😊 Other DXVK information:

Schizoid Life: When You Know Something Matters… But You Don’t Feel It
This is something a lot of us go through. We might have interests, hobbies, or routines we’ve picked up along the way... not because they bring us intense joy, but because they make sense. We recognize their value. They help structure our time, express some part of who we are, or just give us something to do. But the connection often stops there… it’s like knowing something is important without actually feeling it.
For people with schizoid dynamics, this disconnect between knowing and feeling is pretty common. We’re often mentally present, intellectually aware, but emotionally distant. So even if we lose access to something we care about in theory, it doesn’t always hit us emotionally. We might notice the absence, but we don’t necessarily feel a sense of loss.
That doesn’t mean the activity was meaningless... it just means our emotional link to it was muted or filtered. A lot of us have trained ourselves not to rely on emotional highs to sustain interest. Instead, we engage with things because they make sense to us. That might mean a hobby feels important in principle, but it still doesn’t register as a deep need.
I think this approach helps some of us stay stable. Emotional detachment can act like a buffer. We avoid unnecessary stress, disappointment, or longing. But it also means we’re not always tuned into what fulfills us in the way others might be. That lack of emotional feedback can make it harder to stay engaged, or even to tell whether something still matters to us.
Some of us might occasionally break through that flatness... have brief moments of real interest or inner spark. But more often, we’re managing the gap between internal logic and emotional presence. That’s not failure. It’s just how our mind has adapted.
Personally, I’ve come to see value in doing things even if they don’t always feel emotionally “real.” The act of choosing something, investing time, building a structure around it… all of that still holds meaning, even if the emotional charge is faint. It’s a different kind of engagement... less about feelings and more about intention.
So, if you’re someone who operates this way… you’re not broken. You’re working with what your capacity allows. And sometimes that’s enough.

Catherine overview
Catherine's devices grant a Barrier equal to a certain percentage of her own Max HP to the operator you attach them to. This works for all operators, melee and ranged. Without module it's 22% and 30% with it. Here are some numbers:
E2L50: 2476 +module = 2674 -> barrier = 545/802 E2L80: 2680 +module = 2880 -> barrier = 590/864
With S2: E2L50: 4209 +module = 4546 -> barrier = 926/1364 E2L80: 4556 +module = 4896 -> barrier = 1002/1469
The Barrier passively replenishes at a fast rate of 6% of Catherine's Max HP per second once the targeted operator hasn't been attacked for 5 seconds. This unfortunately includes receiving ambient damage, such as from Haze berating you Poison Haze, so her Barrier will never replenish in such environments.
Her S1 gives Catherine a small, passive ATK and DEF buff which is also given to "other operators who have a Barrier granted by her Device(s)". But if you attach a device to an operator who generates a Barrier of their own or through other means, like RA2's Wasteland Cache: Remote Shield Controller or IS' Living Woodplate, this buff will still apply. As long as any Barrier is active.
^ Operators who I invited to try out Catherine's devices and who left with a good impression of them. Now you too can keep your favourite idol safe in the field! Wow!
Catherine's S2 increases her Max HP by 70%, which also raises the Barrier cap, and causes the Barrier to regenerate at all times. 6% of Catherine's Max HP comes out as 149/160/161/173 BPS or 253/273/273/294 with S2 active on up to two targets at a time. For comparison, a fully-powered Sussuro (<11 Cost <50% hp target) with S2 active has ~1200 HPS and she's like the best raw healing Medic out there. Catherine does half of that, if we count two targets, with unlimited duration, flexible positioning and even on Medic-immune operators like Soloblades and Juggernauts. Additionally, this isn't just healing but a Barrier, so it gives them an increased buffer for big hits, like the Londinium Secondary Defense Artillery's 3000 True damage. With her maximum Barrier of 1469, even a lot of ranged operators can survive a blast and her 864 off-skill is also quite formidable in this regard.
Attaching a device to an operator will instantly grant them the maximum Barrier possible, so holding one until a critical point is a worthwhile thought to have, though you may want to look towards Roberta for this specifical use-case, since she gives a Shield instead, which is specifically designed to block big, single instances of damage. But even then, Roberta has some restrictions that Catherine doesn't. Roberta's devices only work on melee operators and once they're used up or expire, that's that. Deploying an operator on a tile that one of her devices is pointed at will also immediately grant them the full Barrier so should you decide to redeploy someone benefitting from a device, you can have someone else take the now vacant spot and enjoy its protection right away.
You might find particularly good use for Catherine's devices with operators who rely on having a Barrier to activate certain effects, like Humus who gets 8% DEF and likes to be at high HP for his S2 or Penance, who has retaliation damage while a Barrier is active. Penance apparently may struggle with getting it up when you want to use her S3, since it leaves her notably vulnerable while she's loading it and the extra Barrier given to her by Catherine's assistance might just be the pickup she needs to keep her stamina up.
The Geeks' and Fiammetta's persistent health decay is not absorbed by her Barrier devices. Evidently not even Catherine can halt the gnawing tooth of time, but that too is one of her charming aspects. However, operators other than Fiammetta who enjoy Vigor effects (a buff of some kind that is active only when above a certain health threshold) will also benefit more from her devices than others might, as it gives them a bigger buffer zone to keep their Vigor intact. Opposite, yet similar, operators with Tenacity effects (a buff of some kind that is active only when below a certain health threshold), mainly seen on Soloblade Guards but also Morgan, will enjoy a Barrier that allows them to more safely live on the edge.
Overall I'd recommend not to overlook this old lady, as she is a versatile defensive support in the field and may charm you that way if she hasn't already with her good looks and pleasant voice.

❛ THE 5 LOVE LANGUAGES ❜ - T. LANGDON
ⓘ love language : a person's characteristic means of expressing and experiencing love
꣑ৎ : masterlist﹒request / chat w me ! ﹒꒱ note. i love him
words of affirmation ➛ ˗ˏˋ tate relies on verbal reassurance more than anything else. this need to be told he’s loved or wanted traces directly back to his mother—constance offered praise in fragments, conditional and inconsistent, delivered only when he performed well enough to deserve it. tate learned early on that affection had to be earned, and over time, that became the framework. now, your perception of him becomes the baseline for who he believes he is. verbal affirmation functions as some sort of moral buffer—if you still want him, then maybe he’s not beyond saving. ˊˎ-
────୨ৎ────
acts of service ➛ ˗ˏˋ tate will do anything for you, and that’s not always a good thing. he doesn’t just take your side like any supportive boyfriend does, he eliminates the opposition—if you so much as complain about someone, he’s already planning what to do to them come halloween. “i did it for you.” and he’ll wait, eyes wide and almost innocent, for your approval. in his book, love means devotion without limit. when tate does something awful in your name, he doesn’t expect you to be upset; he expects gratitude. maybe even a kiss. you don’t get to be mad. not without hurting his feelings. because in his twisted logic, you asked for this. you trusted him with your anger, and he handled it the only way he knows how.
────୨ৎ────
quality time ➛ ˗ˏˋ this one’s especially intense. tate has nothing but time—literally—and he wants to spend most of it with you. not necessarily doing anything, simply existing in the same room is enough. when you tell him need space, he interprets it as rejection.
jealousy is instant. tate doesn’t trust your friends. in fact, he fucking hates when you spend time with anyone who isn’t him, and he doesn’t always lash out. sometimes it’s this withering silence, bottomless, brown eyes slowly blinking, saying “you forgot about me” without words. that insecurity mutates into guilt-tripping & manipulation. “it’s just better when you’re here,” or “you’re the only light i’ve ever known.” he’s super possessive of your time because it’s the only currency he has left. ˊˎ-
────୨ৎ────
physical touch ➛ ˗ˏˋ tate has little concept of personal space. he’s constantly seeking some form of contact, and that need tends to override any awareness of your boundaries. this behaviour oscillates between harmless gestures such as holding your hand, sitting beside you on the stairs, resting his head in your lap, to slightly more calculated acts of intimacy: sometimes during arguments, he’ll kiss you mid-sentence, press his forehead to yours when you’re trying to think. when he spoons you, he presses so close like he’s trying to merge himself into you. other nights, he asks you—softly, almost embarrassed—to hold him instead. he likes when you wrap your arms around his stomach, tuck your face against the back of his neck. it makes him feel small in a way he doesn’t hate. safe, even.ˊˎ-
────୨ৎ────
receiving gifts ➛ ˗ˏˋ not particularly high on his list—but only because there’s not much tate can offer in the traditional sense. he can’t exactly browse for things when he’s tied to the house. but what he can give, he gives entirely. goes without saying that he he keeps every little thing you’ve ever gifted him. he gives what he can in return. stuff he’s made—love notes, sketches, burned CDs, a rose painted black, or knickknacks from his childhood. ˊˎ-

the red sun is losing its light
He lets you go. That’s what Sylus does.
He watches over you, he allows you to lean on him, he helps you, he doesn’t contradict you and protects you when undoubtedly you fail, he teases you and reads your needs before you feel them yourself, and then when it’s all done, he lets you go.
Go back to your tidy, pretty life. Go back to the world where you can pretend he doesn’t exist.
Go be the person you learnt to be without him.
He doesn’t hold it over you, the fact that you didn’t remember him. He doesn’t want you to look that sad again, as you did when all of it came rushing back. It’s been so long for him, the pain has dulled, just you at the forefront of his thoughts.
You don’t have that buffer. So even as you wake up exhausted, days after the fact, he cannot stop you from going. He cannot open his mouth to claim you, to explain exactly what it means, to have your souls tied so. To fill up the gaps in memory, reach out to you and know himself wanted.
So he lets you go.
In the aftermath of your actions, there’s enough work to do in N109 Zone, and he allows himself to sink into that with a ferocity that scares everyone. People bleed, streets and walls painted red, matched across his knuckles. Empires crash, as he gurges on more and more and more - and yet never enough, because nothing is quite as close as having you to make him full. He throws things across room after room, throughout multiple locations, to keep his hands busy from trying to reach out to you. He won’t be just a different leash, he won’t lay a claim on you beyond what’s been given to him lifetimes ago, he won’t beg anymore.
He lets you go, because in the deep recess of his heart, he hopes you’ll be back. He lets you go, even though in the deep recess of his heart, he has no idea how he will ever be enough.
Days and nights pass. He’s growing scared.
Days and nights pass. He’s growing sloppy.
The featherlight touch at his temple catches him unaware, having fallen asleep in the chair of his armory. He never sleeps, not like this, but he’s been the type of tired that only days of rest or a hug can fix.
You’re kind, tender, gaze softening as he blinks, bringing himself to awareness, enough to turn his head and catch your hand in his. Then, just as gently as you’ve been treating him, he places a kiss against your palm, lips lingering to your fingertips, one by one, before allowing your hand to fall between your bodies, resting against his heart.
It beats, always, in the same rhythm as your heart. Faulty at times, but yours nonetheless.
You’ve killed people for him with the same hand you’re using to caress him. He doesn’t think he can adore you any more than in this moment, returned to him, and he’d give away all he has for this moment to be stopped in time.
“What are you doing, Sylus?” you say, softly, but your voice is firm, chiding even and he sighs, because that means someone told on him, and if it is his own worried twins or someone on your side, he doesn’t have it in him to care.
“Playing dominoes.”
“With people’s lives?”
“Started long ago, Little Bomb.”
And your eyes go softer, your hold against his shirt growing tighter. Because you know exactly how long ago, a revenge over a decade in the making, Sylus a most careful planner. Genius, really.
“Didn’t we agree you’re part of my ending?”
A conversation not from that long ago, but still back when goals were satisfied and memories hidden. He isn’t sure you still want him now, but why would you be here otherwise? To break him, blame him?
He cannot answer, instead just staring at you, hanging on your every word, too jaded to hope; he doesn’t rely on something as fickle as that.
“So where do I fall, Sylus? In your game?” you continue, and you shift, just enough to go straddling his body.
Sylus swallows the knot in his throat, tongue peeking out to wet his lips, looking up at you to notice the way your gaze drops to his mouth for just a brief second, trying to steel himself. And when you at last meet his eyes, he answers.
“You’re the only real thing,” and he grabs your other hand, does the same path of kisses in reverse, stopping with his lips against the thin skin at your wrist, where he can feel and taste every flutter of your heart. “And you belong wherever you want to be.”
Your breath hitches when you can feel his tongue against your now heated skin.
“Here, then,” you say, and Sylus grins.

i would LOVE to know your headcanons on how the archons interact with each other!! (if u want to share ofc)
I HAVE. SO MANY THOUGHTS on this topic and have attempted to organize them the best I can. Here’s like, the layout of how I decided to do this
The context I imagine these headcanons take place in
A little section for each archon and my individual thoughts on how they interact with everyone else
Enjoy the multiple thousand words under the cut
Context these headcanons take place in
So obviously, there’s a lot of different contexts I can imagine the Archons interacting in. Two of them could cameo in a light hearted event like we’ve seen happen with Zhongli & Venti, or…of course, something more serious and plot heavy, because I do feel it’s inevitable Genshin will give us some Avengers Assemble moment with the Seven late into the game JISNXIXJS. When it comes to headcanon stuff, though, when I think of Genshin character interactions I find it most intuitive to put the characters in a casual and lighthearted sort of setting because this is likely what’s needed for the characters’ charm to be on full display.
So for the sake of this post, I’m going to pretend that all the Archons have basically decided to restart the original 7’s tradition of meeting up with each other to hang out—in Liyue or otherwise. I like to imagine that these meetings start as a way for all of Archons to get to know each other, instead of something they all decide to start doing after they become friends because…I don’t know, Traveler or someone suddenly decided it would be great if they all finally met and had a dinner party together or something.
Additionally…just for full indulgence here, I want to imagine that in this situation the Archons are allowed to bring friends to these meetings—especially notable immortals from their immediate social circles who would probably be allowed to see Venti and Zhongli walking around as their real identities and such. This is honestly how I kinda imagine original 7 meetings went too—if they’re gathering in Liyue it doesn’t feel beyond me to imagine maybe some Jueyun Karst adepti are allowed to hang out every so often. I want the setup here to feel casual, therefore I’m allowing like Ei to bring her wife Yae Miko with her because Miko wanted to see Ganyu + also Ei isn’t very social and is relying on Miko to buffer for her SJSICJCDN
Venti
friendly & used to interacting with other archons—presence probably really helps set the vibe. this is great bc like 1/3 of the group has social anxiety
Zhongli — #oldmanyaoiwins
Ei — he’s like “oh it’s Makoto's more introverted sister who seems scary but toootally has a soft spot haha :)". Based off what we know about Makoto I feel he probably got along a bit better with her, but I think he’s fine being civil/friendly with Ei…she’s just probably not the archon he gets along with the most yk
Nahida — you know Venti would love Nahida. What makes this even better is its canon: he says in his voice line for her he “gets along very well with the dendro archon”. This is incredibly endearing to think about and I’m desperate to see them interact bc it would be so cute. But im also kind of haunted by the implications of venti being friends with Rukkhadevata. I feel the idea of just completely forgetting a friend would Venti in particular pretty sad…I like the idea he gets a vague, unnerving sense of Deja vu when he’s around Nahida sometimes but is like hm. Don’t like that. (Though i wouldn’t put it past Venti to be suspiciously knowledgeable about Irminsul things)
Furina —has a very cute voiceline about wanting her invited to windsblume. I feel Venti would have a very specific kind of empathy for Furina’s relationship w/ facade & performance and make an effort to be very nice to her
Mavuika — Wants to go drinking with her. That's great Venti I'm glad you found another Archon who loves alcohol and war trauma repression. (I think they’d get along just fine in casual settings!)
Zhongli
similar to Venti, he's chill & used to interacting w/ other archons. Wouldn't feel unsure of his place there whatsoever. Knows exactly what’s up
Venti — #oldmanyaoiwins
Ei — I dont think he minds Ei, & would be cordial with her in his usual Zhongli way, but there's probably not much chemistry here. Eyebrow raise at some of her life choices
Nahida — would enjoy talking to Nahida because they both love philosophically pondering things. there's a charm to this when you compare Zhongli's extensive lived experience as the eldest Archon with Nahida's eagerness to experience the world as the youngest Archon being notable elements of their characters. (old post I made about this here)
Furina — Canonically goes out of his way to make his respect for her known in voice lines + few interactions in 2024 Lantern Rite, which is very charming. I imagine Zhongli would especially respect Furina’s resolve & commitment to save Fontaine as the God of Contracts, you know? Old Man Rex Lapis wants you to know he thinks you're cool & that you should practice self confidence
Mavuika —??? There would be something so funny about this. Zhongli's civility born out of old man autism & Mavuika's civility born out of her being overly emotionally stable would give their hypothetical interactions such an unintentionally funny awkwardness in my mind. They'd vibe
Ei
Overwhelmingly I imagine Ei would feel Really Awkward about interacting w/ other gods. I think she'd learn to have a good time but would struggle to form really close bonds with any of them individually, at least at first. I’ve always imagined she maybe shadowed Makoto whenever she attended Archon meetups in the past, so in the back of her mind trying to socialize as the Archon feels awkward and more like “Makoto’s thing”. She’s trying her best
Venti — canonically doesnt like him which is so funny to me, & also makes complete sense because i think Venti’s whimsy would just baffle and confuse her. Yae Miko, however, canonically does get along with Venti, which gives me this fantastic mental image of Ei being very sad her wife says she can't blow Barbados up with lightning for being overstimulating to be around because she finds him funny and says it would "totally kill the vibe” of the archon meetup. I really enjoy this coexisting with my earlier note that Makoto probably also got along with Venti. Someone help her
Zhongli — again there’s probably not much going on here but I like to imagine she just thinks Zhongli is kind of weird & needing to exist in physical proximity to him and Venti bantering with each other is a deeply harrowing experience for her
Nahida — I Really love that her voiceline abt Nahida is "aw :) she seems like a very gentle god. I like how she's capable of psychological warfare but chooses not to" it's really funny. I enjoy the idea she finds Nahida easier to talk to than some of the other archons and likes sharing desserts with her. Just generally thinks Nahida is 2 apples tall and very polite/pleasant to be around
Furina — Has a very sweet voiceline where she really empathizes with furina over the 500 years she spent fighting the Shogun. I like to imagine Ei is able to pick up on Furina's nervousness at being around other Archons & kinda tries to connect with her/be welcoming to her, even though that isn’t something that Ei’s very used to doing. Which would be kind of sweet
Mavuika — Similarly to Zhongli there would be something unintentionally funny with this. Ei I feel would be torn between resonating with Mavuika’s experience handling the burden of a War and kind of fascinated by Mavuika’s ability to be charismatic in a leadership position. She’s like I have no idea how you’re doing that but that is okay 💜 are you interested in having 20 friendly spars in a row I think it would be fun :) (honestly? Mavuika is probably the individual Archon Ei would have the easiest time getting along with)
Nahida
strongly believe she’d have social anxiety about meeting the other gods for the first time. Her voicelines about the Seven kinda suggest she’d be worried about fitting in & getting a bad grade in Archon Socializing. She probably warms up fast once she gets to know everyone, especially when she realizes everyone already really likes her and is looking forward to meeting her (which I don’t think she’d expect…cute)
Venti — Has a voiceline wondering if she should ask the other archons to play hopscotch w/ her in an attempt to get to know them. I think if she did this alot of them would ne like “uhh” & Nahida would get so nervous she’s totally killing the vibe until suddenly Venti mows everyone else down to grab her shoulders and go well BUER MY BFF OF COURSE I'LL PLAY HOPSCOTCH WITH YOU!!!!! and she'd be like :D !!!!! and latch onto Venti immediately. As I said in Venti’s section there is no debating that Nahida and Venti would get along they would both be ecstatic to have someone matching them in Whimsy
Zhongli — To Nahida Zhongli is probably just like this funny old man who will happily infodump to her about the wide range of things he's knowledgeable about for 6 hours straight anytime she asks. Like she knows he's Rex Lapis. She’s just very glad Rex Lapis is autism grandpa 9000 as a person
Ei — I think Nahida would get along fine with Ei but i also think it would be extremely funny if Ei's like, tendency for emotional unawareness just stresses Nahida out conceptually. I want a situation where Nahida understands Ei as a person and doesn’t dislike her per se but she’s cursed with getting exactly why Wanderer and Ei’s relationship is Like That. In my mind this is paired with Ei being very friendly and nice to Nahida specifically because i think it would make Wanderer feel like this

Furina — She’d love Furina tbh. Both of them are smart/sensitive/have spent alot of their lives anxious about meeting the expectations of their people and I think it would be cute to see them hang out :) Nahida probably just finds Furina's presence fun and enjoys hanging out with her
Mavuika — Nahida would think Mavuika is cool & nice and be happy to have her visit Sumeru but also probably feel kind of compelled to study her under a petri dish for her quirky millennial wine aunt demeanor
Furina
So I imagine the other archons view Furina as like, "fellow member of the Seven whos also a human" but not "another archon"—I think Furina would find it stressful to ne treated as an Archon after everything so everyone else would probably like, happily welcome her as part of the group but treat her as a human w/ that in mind. I think this would help Furina be a lot more comfortable interacting w them, but I think she'd also just be frazzled to be considered "one of them" and very nervous/intimidated by everyone & what they think of her at first. I can see her being worried they'd be offended by the "faking being a god" thing too. This would stop once she realizes all of them feel entirely positively and respectful of her but I think even that would be a bit overwhelming at first. I think she’d warm up eventually but just inherently has a lot of baggage with the idea of being “one of the Seven” that would probably inevitably come up in a situation like this…like, I imagine pre-MoTG Furina was probably terrified of the idea of interacting with an actual Archon in fear of them seeing through her act
Venti — I think she'd almost be like…overwhelmed (positively) by Venti, who would probably be being very friendly/welcoming of her as a fellow archon. Once she processes he's entirely sincere in his friendliness & theyre able to connect over their talents in performance arts I think they got along great though! This is assuming a situation she gets to know Venti’s identity…more plausibly I imagine she gets the vibe something about this very nice mondstadt bard she just met is Off (like she kinda sensed something odd about Zhongli) but not be fully let in on the secret.
Zhongli — "THAT'S Rex Lapis? Oh o__o ;; explains why Neuvilette was trying so hard to find him…aha…”
Ei — I’m so sorry but I think it would be really funny if Furina was just a little scared of Ei. Like as I said in Ei’s section I imagine Ei trying to be nice to Furina & connect with her while being just completely oblivious to the fact Furina is kinda worried Ei will strike her down with divine lightning. JJDNDJJDNDJDJDHD. She doesn’t dislike Ei or anything Ei just strikes me as someone easy to find intimidating even when she’s not trying to be
Nahida — I think if Nahida reached out to connect with her over their shared experiences of being rejected/alienated by their people for being too humanly vulnerable it would genuinely mean a lot to Furina & they'd hit it off. I think she’d generally like Nahida but also..I will not lie. I think it would be funny if Furina was also kind of conceptually freaked out by Nahida. Like I think in practice it’s mostly fine but Nahida is probably a little too uncomfortably good at reading Furina so Furina is like okay as someone with deep rooted intimacy issues I am a little stressed out by the conditionally omnipotent mind-reading baby present in this establishment
Mavuika — I think she'd find Mavuika's presence grounding to be around but maybe struggle a bit to start conversation with her, at least at first. I imagine Furina would feel a sense of anxious camaraderie with Mavuika as another human archon but at the same time I feel like if they met pre-MoTG it would've been a bit of a mindfuck for Furina to encounter another human archon, especially one who just seems to have a lot more genuine self-assurance about it than her
Mavuika
Mavuika interacting with the other archons amuses me because I think she's just like disproportionately normal and well adjusted compared to everyone else. I think she engages the others pretty confidently and casually. If you wanted to do something fun with this I think it would be interesting if she gets this weird sense she almost fits in a little too well with the other archons, despite being human. Almost like an inverse of how I think Furina would always feel a bit weird about being considered one of the Seven, even by the other archons
Venti — Would probably rock with Venti's whimsy and enjoy drinking with him. Just thinks he's a solid (if not sort of strange) guy but I think Venti's potiental to mess with Mavuika outmatches Mavuika's capacity to mess with Venti…which would result in her being the target of hijinks. I think she needs this though
Zhongli — I want to say she'd be like "fuck yeah grandpa explain those rock facts in excruciating detail" about Zhongli but I think her saying this to Zhongli's face directly is a bit outside the bounds of Mavuika's flavor of quirkiness. I do feel it's the correct sentiment but she'd probably be a bit more eloquent about it. I feel she'd enjoy his sense of humor and the way he messes with people
Ei — I think they vibe over shared backgrounds in war/combat and Mavuika would have a fun time sparring with her but Ei leaves a very “huh! Interesting" kind impression on Mavuika. Their main common bond is both of them are kind of awkward to socialize with because they're too used to being entirely focused on The War
Nahida — This would be cute. Mavuika is probably just like "awwww haha little guy" and would likely enjoy hoisting Nahida up on her shoulders so she can feel tall. “Cool smart kid who’s nice to talk to” kind of situation. Tbh of this depends on the specifics of how Mavuika interacts with children because while I think she’d obviously be diplomatic and respectful of Nahida as a fellow Archon (tm) i feel you could do something interesting with how Mavuika being human and having very human bonds may impact how she views “peers” even in like an Archon setting, especially as someone who had younger siblings…hmmm
Furina — Would also be cute, I think Mavuika would be pretty thrilled there's another human Archon in the vicinity and intuitively really empathize with Furina. Probably prioritizes approaching Furina because she just really wants to see if they hit it off
I think that’s most of it…there’s like a perpetual archons sitcom happening in my mind. Im less interested in them being this like tightknit established friend group and more this funny opportunity for a lot of different genshin social circles to interact. The fact they’d all have varying levels of chemistry with each other but have an incentive to like, get along/be cordial is really amusing to me
#asks#archons#venti#Zhongli#raiden Ei#Nahida#Furina#mavuika#Genshin tangents#the idea of wanderer watching Ei and Nahida interact is such a specific thing in my mind because I doubt he’d really care#but in the back of his mind I’d imagine it invokes this 😒 reaction that cheeses me to think about#compared to other archons Nahida is probably someone Ei would have an easier time interacting with#but on#y really in a casual context. in terms of deeper relationships I think Nahida has more compatibility with wanderer#which is funny. wanderers probably like 😒 you wouldn’t get it…

insert ask that conveniently makes you talk about sayonika here
I have a lot of thoughts about them. None are particularly structured, really...
Trust really fuckin fed us, y'all. One of the first posts on this blog is me talking all about how it illustrates the parallels between Monika and Sayori, subtle as it is about it. I think in many, many ways, they reflect one another's actions, and on an exceptionally deep level, they both understand what makes the other tick. As a consequence, they're both pretty astute when it comes to recognizing what the other needs, what problems they might be having, and a good way to help them through it. It's hard to put into words...they just get each other, y'know?
Despite that, there are some definite fundamental differences. I think the simplest way to explain it is that Monika has a constant preoccupation with being able to do something right the first time, to be able to do something perfect, while Sayori has long given up the thought that she could do anything without screwing something up, and is instead desperately focused on trying to do good enough. In that way, the both of them sort of cover the other's weaknesses.
In that sense, both of them struggle with the thought of measuring up to others' expectations, and feel this constant need to do better, coupled with this constant thought that they aren't enough. Inferiority complex is the keyword here. Both of them have some pretty clear struggles with their own self-worth...
And the benefit of having each other is invaluable, for that reason. Particularly since the two of them understand each other's struggle, they're able to find the words the other needs to hear, and when they say it, it's more trustworthy because of that understanding.
Monika vents about an issue she's having, trying to find a way to really cope with it, and Sayori's answer immediately pierces straight to the core of the problem, identifying an insecurity which Monika didn't even realize she had. She's able to lay bare what Monika feels so she can actually grasp how to deal with it.
On the flip side, Sayori can hide it all she likes, but Monika's able to see clear through that facade, and identify where Sayori is struggling. She tends to a more subtle approach, simply quietly taking some of that burden, or providing whatever affection, praise, or encouragement she thinks she needs. Without even realizing it, Sayori's feeling better already.
They've got each others' backs, through thick and thin. If Monika's lagging behind, Sayori gives her a gentle push in the right direction. If Sayori needs someone to tell her everything's going to be okay, Monika's right beside her not only telling her that, but elaborating on how things couldn't possibly be that bad, because they have each other.
To get away from more general analysis kind of stuff, I think the two of them would just naturally tend towards a very close relationship. They'd grow reliant on each other without even realizing it, each using the other for needed buffer in any social situation, and relying on each other for support in all areas.
Monika would feel incredibly awkward trying to engage in anything romantic with anyone, but I think her relationship with Sayori being so close would just feel incredibly natural, no matter how it ended up progressing. That doesn't mean that transitioning to romance wouldn't feel awkward as hell still, nor that Monika would really feel confident doing anything (Sayori's taking that lead and she's driving the horse to the end of the line), but her relationship with Sayori would be so close naturally that it wouldn't actually change very much.
Neither of them would really be able to be honest about their feelings at first. And at this critical moment, neither of them would be able to clearly identify the feelings that the other had. Both of them would be way too anxious about the fact that the other might say no, and it could ruin their entire friendship, to say anything about it for the longest time. Neither of them can imagine a life without the other.
I think Sayori might be the one to crack first. I think she'd probably get to a point where she wouldn't be able to handle all the fluttery feelings in her chest when they were this close. She couldn't do anything but be honest about her feelings, no matter how anxious it made her feel.
Monika would be taken aback but obviously reciprocate. Now unsure how to even proceed. I think Monika would be the first to say I love you tho
This might be one of the roughest parts of the base game to really deal with when you think about it for an extended period. I don't want to think about it for an extended period right now so I'm not gonna elaborate (already thinking of enough angst with other fic concepts).

If something happened to his sister(twincest), what’s the crash out looking like for Sotaru?
Cause he’s self centered but he’s also codependent, she’s his emotional crutch but he doesn’t understand or even really seem to comprehend how much he actually relies on her.
Like a part of me thinks it would be sort of akin to a brat losing their favorite toy, at least at first, cause that’s how he treats her now
But also, she’s been the buffer between him and “normal” people their whole lives. She’s his emotional regulator and the thing that helps buff out his more abrasive traits.
(I wanna see this Gojo spiral so bad you have no idea)
-🤘
bestiiiieeee you left a few asks a while ago and i'm sorry it took me so long to get to them!!! just know, you sending in these asks, it's a big part of what got me motivated to pick up the series recently. ilu <3
codependency is a big theme in there, even if we haven't yet completely explored how it affects gojo. obviously for you, you're very insecure, you rely on gojo for affection, for validation, and you constantly want reassurance from him that the sex and physical intimacy fall short of providing.
for gojo, he needs you in order to sleep, and he also sabotages your chances at other relationships - if you noticed, he does the same thing with shoko and geto, basically making sure to get intimate (or close to it) when the two are nearby. plus he literally sends your parents away.
but do we see what happens to him without you? when he doesn't have access to you at will? that's tough because you are codependent yourself and your attachment makes you severely unlikely to withdraw from him. i'm not sure i see it happening in the next part. but with gojo's inability/refusal to offer you the reassurance you need so badly, it's almost inevitable.
so sure, at first he's lost his favorite toy. but gojo's also quite young here and probably prone to throwing fits. and if you remember, he's heavy-handed, too. he's not afraid to try and manipulate you into being back with him.
but if that option isn't available to him - unlike you, gojo is not uncomfortably aware of how much he needs you in his life. your emotional regulation for him is on the subtle side.
like, without you to go to - a safe space where he can always count on being loved and receiving physical touch - i think gojo might get more physical with people. even if it's just punching suguru or nanami or whatever, he craves the contact.
he also wants affection, wants kisses and hugs and quality time and your warm words for him, but he can't verbalize that. so he just acts in ways that will get him attention, he annoys people, insults them, gets into their space, their business, their lives - and then gets upset when he's not satisfied with their reaction.
you're not so much a buffer as you are an outlet, or maybe just a source of human connection he can always go to. i do think gojo can also drift more towards his canon "there was always a distance between me and other people... you can admire a blooming flower, but you cannot ask it to understand you" philosophy.
and to be clear, i think that line was nonsense. there were a lot of people who empathized very deeply with gojo; he was just too inept (and bad at communicating) to connect with them.
in the twincest series, ironically, having you around keeps gojo from thinking that. he knows you can understand him, you know each other so well, watched each other grow from the ground up; it doesn't matter if he's "stronger", and that gives him a sense of humanity that lets him be intimate with geto freely instead of just having a sexy strictly subtext relationship shfgjklshdg.
for the spiral... well. it might take a while. but he's just so goddamn stupid. i love me a man who needs some growth. rest assured he will make his own bed >.>

First KWW fic :D i love masked wato because WHYY is she Like That . whys she just wearing evilfies clothes and wearing his face and pacing around his office and sitting in his chair like GIRL Words: 1087 !!!
Wato knows that his memory isn't something she should rely on. It's had holes wide enough to stick her hands through and pull for as long as she can remember, which, now that they're thinking about it, isn't that good of a measurement.
Her memory has been failing her for long enough that they now look towards their subconscious before her memory, letting a twist of her gut and an unintentional scrunch of her eyebrows guide her in placing blocks, instead of the knowledge that had to be locked up somewhere inside her mind in order to produce those reactions in the first place. He remembers placing a dropper and filling it with items, mind fluttering with information that's only intuitive when she forgets that she's thinking; those thoughts then becoming a mere feeling, like a dream she'd just woken up from. He remembers the feeling of dread crawling up her throat when she saw her face, half covered by a white mask, reflected back at her through the water's surface. He doesn't remember blurs of green and yellow, soft against his fingers and face, soft against his back and legs, the feeling of a hoodie's zipper digging uncomfortably behind his head- juxtaposed with quiet laughter and a warmth nestled in the space between her heart and ribs. She doesn't remember, but she's choosing not to think, and when she lets her hands move- the sheep she spawns are one green, one yellow.
And- she was thinking of something. She looks around her, mind buffering, trying to figure out- where are they? His gut swoops and her hands come to her face- the feeling of smooth white on her right fingertips feels like a shock to her system, but she doesn't know why. The thought doesn't panic her, like some old crumbling part of her mind expects, so he figures that this has happened before. Her fingers drift to the edge of the mask and it's something she only realizes after sharp panic splits his mind; he jerks her hands away from her face and has to force themself to breathe. Panic holds her ears flat against her skull and her shaking hands awkwardly flutter around her, she ends up settling with hugging herself as he spins in a slow circle to observe her surroundings- she's flying over a half-finished escape room, the power of creative mode means she's only imagining the bile itching the back of her throat, she's in a void world, and the feeling of multiplayer hums behind her neck when he focuses on it. She- she doesn't know why she's building an escape room in multiplayer. She usually builds escape rooms in single player- usually only testing them in multiplayer- and they send the structure over comms if it was made for someone else. The second that thought finishes she realizes that she doesn't remember where it came from. The thought feels right, but trying to remember building in singleplayer only gives her glimpses of bedrock and sleepless nights, and the concept of commissions only give them a vague feeling of frustration.
The memory of comms does give her pause, though. She pulls out her communicator, breezing past the ever-present feeling of forgetting something, and turns it on. And, well, she doesn't know what she expected, but of course there's only vague familiarity towards her friends list. Before he could do much, her comm vibrates with a notification: a message from some player named Wifies. She opens the chat and- -she scrolls up to she how she would usually respond- -they open up a chat with- -they frown, letting the twitch of his ears tell him where to place cobwebs-
-llo, Wato." She's already looking at Wifies, not feeling panicked at all- which- she thinks is weird. Because she feels like she just had water dumped on her. Like they're a newborn trying to walk. She doesn't remember the escape room being this far along, but he's about 15 ticks into trying to convince himself this is normal, and about 20 ticks late in answering Wifies. "Hi Wifies," she ends up saying- far too frazzled to think up anything better. She watches Wifies give an amused huff, watches his dog ears flick and tail sway, trying to place him in her mind. "Well, how's the escape room coming along?" He says, placing his hands in his lab coat's pockets and shifting his weight to the left. She starts speaking before her conscious mind can process the question, "I'd say it's going well so far. I'm nearly done with the hoglin room, but I'm still figuring out how to respawn the armour stand. I ended up going with the saddled pig idea for jumping the 4-block gaps. Yeah, it's an easy softlock if it drops in the void too early, but it eventually falling in the void is kind of the goal." The smile she gets makes her feel dizzy, and she feels kind of grateful that Wifies looks away from her before whatever expression they're now wearing crossed her face.
She takes the small break of Wifies inspecting her work to catalog what she knows. They wring their hands together and glare down at his suit jacket; it feels wrong, and that feeling feels unnatural to him. They think this is what they usually wear. They look down at himself and expect to see it, but the feeling of the seams makes her itch, and the tie around her neck feels suffocating. And he- he doesn't really care that wearing this is what was normal for her, because she doesn't even remember that normal- or that her. He touches the mask on the right of his face and thinks about who she is, how he doesnt mind using the same name that still catches her attention, even though she feels like they barely even have ownership of the name they've probably used for an entire life's worth of lost memories. When she lets the sound of a small woof bring him back to reality, he still feels floaty, like he's in the wrong place. But she looks to Wifies and- "Hey, come back with me to the factory?" It feels like love, a kind that makes her want to wear his sweaters and bracelets, the kind that plants spores of mold in her skull. And she follows, because even if her hands shake and the ravines in her memory tell her that this isn't real love, she's lost, and Wifies is guiding her.
#quartz posts fics#kww collab#evilfies#wato1876#omz mask wato1876#can be interpreted as romantic or platonic#i have probably completely butchered every character here so i apologise for that#evilfies totally doesnt love her btw . he loves the feeling of someone needing him & loves having control over someone#he does what he thinks will make wato do what he wants#he/they/she wato my beloved . thy could never make me hate you#the memory loss was hard for me 2 write but that just means ill have to write more of it

i always wonder why some people who both side the genocide but believe they truly aren’t a zionist! they are so very different from them and just wants all people to get along! wants to dismantle hamas but says nothing about dismantling/defunding the military system of israel.
let’s say hamas is completely dismantled. and in many zionists’ words, this means that most people are killed - this does implicate that hostages are mostly likely to be returned home dead - education is taken over at least a smudge to ensure people won’t retaliate anymore - war is over but Palestine is not an independent state and is still occupied by Israel, who still will control their power grid and livelihoods and not permit them to live equal lives as Israeli citizens because of the artificial fear that fuels Israeli military soldiers to snipe even children (again, their way of dismantling Hamas). so what will happen? palestine will still be occupied (ie not be independent).
so why are the people who are calling for the dismantling of hamas not calling for the dismantling of the israeli military force as well? this is important because we - and im just humouring the lucky crowd here - do not know what signs there will be to tell us that Hamas is dismantled. if you kill almost everyone except for that one person who isn’t a Hamas member, but because you killed everyone, someone retaliates, will they be considered “Hamas” as well? is the end goal to just… kill everyone, then? will that be the sign that Hamas is dismantled? and the same people I described before will say “no! of course not! we will only kill Hamas members!” when Palestinians who are not Hamas members have definitely been killed and false accusations by Israel have been made calling things “Hamas!” that have very clearly not been Hamas and instead just been “evidence” implanted by Israeli soldiers - but again, I’m humouring the lucky crowd over here, so okay. we need a buffer to say “yes, stop killing people”, and any word that comes out of Palestine won’t help that obviously, so the buffer will have to be a stalemate between Palestine & Israel.
so, besides hamas, what armed group will palestine have to protect them to provide that buffer? not even just during this genocide, but let’s say we got over that first hurdle of “even though we don’t know when Hamas is completely dismantled”, sure, let’s say they’ve been dismantled. back to the question - what military force will Palestine have? they have the largest crippled population in the world and many people gained physical disabilities overnight. over many nights, actually. what effective military group should they have? an israeli one? okay. so what about their independence?
did you cripple them so they would rely on you, you would have their land and resources, and they will not be able to claim independence? bonus question: will they be euthanized as well so they cannot make more children? children seem to be the target of a lot of snipers.
so thinking logically through it - why isn’t this possibility morally abhorrent to those people who call for the dismantling of hamas for “peace”? what type of peace is this? logically you cannot claim to be morally superior as someone who supports these ideologies. the only way you can settle with only dismantling hamas, but not dismantling the Israeli military force - “reform the Israeli military force”, you say, but how will that happen? will it even happen? who in power in israel would want a reform to happen in the first place? to be moral or to appear moral? wil anyone else pressure them? - is if you have understood the lives of Palestinians to be less important than yours.
they do not need to be independent, because we will help them - we will enact our power over them - and whether for good or bad reasons, they will not be able to hold a state of their own without our meddling. can you understand why we call Israel an occupying force? do you understand why the primary point of discussion on the colonization of palestine and the genocide of its people have been based around “power”?
if that freaks you out (and it should), you’ll be happy to know that Israel’s only alternative to “having a bunch of enemy forces rely on you for the inevitable future because of international pressure” is “kill all people in the enemy forces so we don’t waste our resources on them”. (so. back to square one.) everything in Israel is interconnected - from the real estate selling homes in gaza overseas, to the media, to the government, to the military forces. it’s why Palestinians are seen as less than human in Israel, and this is emphasized on all affronts. there needs to be an entire system reform, not just military reform, for any change to happen whatsoever. and looking at America right now, this will be too slow for Palestinians to be spared.
“is there a third option?” you ask. and yes! there is. for Israel to withdraw their military forces, any spies, any personnel inside Palestine that will attempt to go for a position of power - and allow Palestine to build itself without Israel’s meddling. which is funny because this will never realistically happen since whether or not they have hostages, Israel has been trying to destroy their infrastructure for the past 20 years - it’s why Israel now controls their power grid - so the answer should be “dismantle israeli military, but keep the Iron Dome up that has been protecting everyone because you really only should need defense if you’re going to be powerful, protected, and emphasize morality as well”, but i guess that idea is too complicated for the lucky crowd to understand (ie. the lucky crowd refuses to understand it because they don’t just want to defend their people, they want to kill other people too), but i digress.
“and how do you know Israel has withdrawn everyone?” ah yes! that’s the question I was looking for. the answer? we don’t know. we just have to trust the “moral superiority” of Israel that everyone who defends Zionists seem to love to talk about. of course Zionists aren’t trying to gun for land that isn’t theirs for nefarious reasons :) they totally had empathy this entire 70 years of occupation of Palestine, and nothing they have done has suggested otherwise :) of course, if that’s not the case, and youre scared that they’re just going to gun anyone who *they believe is Israeli who tries to come into Palestine* because wow! thats exactly what they’ve been doing to Palestinians - but on Palestinian land! then you tell me what solution you have because tell me how that makes any sense. otherwise… Israel will just have to prove that its word can be trusted. and understand international consequences for if that trust is betrayed. and if they think they’re above international law then that’s a completely different problem.
and then for Israel to fix its own culture because wow. society there might be a little deranged if very public acts of dehumanization of Palestine, both on land and online, isn’t at all greatly critique by many people in Israeli society. fix that first please and thank you.
also really funny thing I noticed - a lot of people who love to bothside the genocide but claim they aren’t a zionist love to also say how “Israel’s Dome keeps us safe, not us inhumanly crippling the Palestinian population” like their “only” practise of defence is a humanitarian one. but okay. if they have the technology for this and everyone is very confident that it is Israel’s Iron Dome that keeps everyone safe - why do they not have the technology/surveillance to correctly identify between a Hamas member and a child? i don’t even think surveillance technology is necessary for that.
#anti zionisim#free palestine#ceasefire now#quick someone logically explain to me how someone in more power expects#the group in less power#to have even less power to achieve peace#when the country with more power refuses to make the first steps towards peace and actively stirs conflict in the region#that’s like a human kicking a dog#for whatever reason the human has ti kick the dog. and to achieve peace the dog must lose its canines#but you don’t know where his canines are so you take everything out - even its organs#and say to achieve peace#I have dismantled the canines#but the entire dog is dead now#even worse another dog sees it and tries to attack you#and then you do the same to the other dog: i thought i had dismantled the canines but i didnt#and all you have are dead dogs and an insane individual

Yes i completely agree. If they are going to go with the hero complex explanation for John being a killer I think it will be very very boring. There is no way his character can stay on the show after killing Nate, chaining him up and dumping him in a lake. John's a goner one way or another and Oliver will be gone by the end of the summer when his year contract is up so they might as well go all out and make him a male version of Meena at least that would be more entertaining. I'm also thinking Cain might blame Aaron for getting involved with John, bringing him to the village in the first place and not realising what John was really like.
I just want there to be a point to it all. I want there to be a point to John being a Sugden. But even more than that, I want there to be a point to him being with Aaron. And a point to all of this for Aaron as a character. And I feel like I'm really going to get disappointed on that last front.
If John is just a guy with a hero complex gone wrong and he really is a Sugden and there's no more to this, then truly, what was the point for Aaron? He's barely gotten to react to this relationship like a normal person. This relationship has done absolutely nothing for his character. He's not gaining anything from it or building anything. He's not even really getting over his Robert feelings because they keep having him brush them aside. And what does he get out of this reveal? Other than some possible screen time, which he needs because he's not on much these days. But what does he get out of dating a serial killer?
I've said before that if this was his first post Robert relationship it could have been a good buffer relationship between Robert and a newer developed relationship. But now this is his third post Robert relationship that he's going to end up back at square one after. And he's gotten nothing out of any of them and they still won't let him deal with his Robert feelings.
And if you look at those involved in the Meena story, David was dating her but he was also getting close to Vic and he got a relationship out of it. Billy and Dawn got together because of Meena. Meena killed Manpreet's competition for Charles so they could get together. She got rid of Ben and fractured Aaron's relationship with Liv for his ext. They at least made some attempt to have there be some purpose to her being part of all of their stories.
Even if you look at something like the Belle and Tom story, at least they were able to claim that it was an awareness story. They're not going to have that luxury here.
It just makes me sad because Aaron has had virtually no character development in the last 5 years. Other than finding out he has the breast cancer gene, there's just nothing. And this John relationship is going to amount to nothing because we don't even really know how he feels about it. And everything else that they do with Aaron all hinges on the past. He came back with his angry at the world, pushing everyone away story. And that was all based on his past relationships and losses. His relationship with John hinges on the past with the Robert connection and some of the early interactions like the lay by and the barn etc. They certainly used it to bring Robert up. When Ross came back they brought Robert up again and Seb so that they could once again use his past to give Aaron scenes. And now with all of this Anthony stuff, they're relying on the Gordon story. And don't get me wrong, if they're going to do a csa story, especially within the family, it makes sense for Aaron to be a part of it. It's just yet another example of them using Aaron's past to give him content instead of building anything new for him. Even the stuff they gave him with Mack and the car stealing and such was just reverting back to an earlier version of his character.
I just want them to build new things for Aaron, especially if Ryan's not coming back. And I don't see how this story is going to do that.
Sigh...

7 Reasons Why Schizoids May Exhibit Greater Resilience to Adult Trauma
While individuals with schizoid personality dynamics are not immune to experiencing trauma, they often appear to handle traumatic situations more effectively than others, and often appear less affected by traumatic events compared to others. This isn't to say that they are entirely immune to trauma, but rather that their unique psychological makeup can enable them to manage adverse conditions more effectively. This resilience is largely due to their unique psychological defenses, which not only help manage immediate emotional distress but also prevent them from becoming retraumatized in the face of new stressful events. Here’s a closer look at how these mechanisms contribute to their resilience...
1. Early Childhood Adaptations:
Individuals with schizoid dynamics often develop defense mechanisms very early in life. These defenses are primarily geared toward managing overwhelming emotions and protecting the self from emotional pain. Such early adaptations lay a foundational resilience that can be particularly effective during stressful adult experiences. These early adaptations form a protective barrier that shields them throughout adulthood, making them less susceptible to the long-term effects of traumatic events.
2. Emotional Detachment:
A hallmark of the schizoid personality is a significant level of emotional detachment. This isn't just a preference for being alone but a deep-seated mechanism to guard against deep emotional disturbances. By maintaining emotional distance, schizoid individuals can often prevent traumatic events from deeply affecting them, as their emotional response is muted. By maintaining a certain emotional distance, they are less likely to be impacted deeply by traumatic events, which in turn reduces the risk of retraumatization.
3. Intellectualization:
Frequently, those with schizoid dynamics employ intellectualization, analyzing and rationalizing emotions instead of fully experiencing them. This approach allows them to view traumatic events more as abstract problems to solve rather than experiences that might overwhelm them emotionally. Intellectualization allows individuals with schizoid dynamics to process traumatic events through a rational and analytical lens, rather than an emotional one. By conceptualizing trauma as a problem to be solved rather than an emotional experience to be endured, they can prevent the full impact of trauma from affecting their psychological state.
4. Depersonalization:
Depersonalization involves feeling detached from one’s emotions and sense of self. For schizoid individuals, this might mean that traumatic events feel less personal and thus less threatening, helping them to compartmentalize and manage their emotional response more effectively. Depersonalization also helps create a sense of detachment from one’s own emotions and identity, which can be particularly useful in traumatic situations. This detachment means that trauma is perceived as less personal and direct, thereby buffering their core self from the emotional shock and preventing retraumatization.
5. Fantasy and Dissociation:
Many individuals with schizoid dynamics use fantasy as a coping mechanism, retreating into their inner world where they can control outcomes and experiences. Alongside dissociation, which creates a mental separation from the traumatic event, this strategy serves as a buffer against fully confronting and experiencing trauma. Thus, reducing its emotional impact and helping to prevent subsequent trauma responses.
6. Self-Sufficiency:
Typically, schizoid individuals are highly self-sufficient, often preferring to rely on their own resources to solve problems. Their independence can sometimes be misinterpreted as them being unaffected by trauma or misconstrued as indifference, but it’s actually a form of self-protection that prevents external influences from exacerbating their trauma. Their inherent self-sufficiency means they often deal with emotional distress internally, without relying on external validation. Meaning that they tend to internalize and manage their difficulties privately, without external support.
7. High Tolerance for Emotional Stress:
The continuous use of these defense mechanisms contributes to a high tolerance for emotional stress. Over time, the continuous use of these defense mechanisms builds a high tolerance for emotional stress. Schizoids become adept at managing and mitigating the effects of traumatic experiences, maintaining mental stability despite external turmoil. This can prevent these events from triggering deeper psychological crises.
In Summary…
These psychological strategies and traits collectively explain why schizoid individuals are less impacted by traumatic events in their adult lives. Their ability to detach, intellectualize, and manage emotions internally creates a robust framework for emotional resilience, in the face of potentially traumatic events. It’s essential to recognize that their apparent lack of impact from traumatic events doesn't mean they don't experience distress; rather, their coping mechanisms are often internalized and not easily observable. Stressful events can be more psychologically impacting than emotionally impacting due to their tendency for emotional detachment. Understanding these dynamics is essential for recognizing the unique ways in which schizoid individuals experience and handle trauma.

Hello!! I saw that you're temporarily open for matchup requests so I hope that I'm not too late with this! :) specifically from LOTR please~
I'm female, 5'7", Virgo, ISFP, with stronger preference for males. I have pale skin with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. My wardrobe mostly consists of darker colors, my favorite combos being black with red or pink.
I consider myself empathetic and honest. I am reserved most of the time, only ever talking if someone else initiates the convo, though I can go on and on about my hyperfixations and interests. Like even when I'm with a group of friends, I'd stay quiet most of the time and just listen so I may come across as a bit socially awkward. I've been told I'm a good listener and so I end up being someone many confide in or as someone who becomes stuck in the middle of a conflict. I am a night owl and get easily exhausted or even irritated when I'm out and it's crowded so I definitely need time and space on my own to recharge after a long day. I suppose among love languages, I lean to using words of affirmation. When I do have enough energy, I also like to cook and bake for my family and friends (and get upset if it doesn't end up turning right).
I really like animals, especially big cats, dogs and wolves. My favorite genre of fiction is horror so sharing scary/ghost stories would be my favorite group activity. My sense of humor tends of be on the dry, sarcastic side. My preferred methods of workout are swimming, badminton, and walking. When I get bored, I tend to doodle and hum. I don't consider myself a good singer and I'd only get the confidence to sing in front of others if I was a bit tipsy (I don't drink much, I am so lightweight it's not even funny and if I do, I stick with cocktail or beer).
In video games that involve combat and exploration, I tend to rely on speed and stealth (my footfalls are actually quiet irl too). Among weapons, I prefer using swords (dual wielding, if available), though having a bit of magic would be fun to use too (especially if you can set things on fire) :3
congrats on the 300 followers!
You are not at all! Thank you for waiting between my recovery buffer posts & older matchups! So here we go now love! Your match is…
Legolas!
Some people joke what a funny couple you are due to you both seeming so quiet, but in truth you are drawn to each other’s peace. Legolas is drawn to your gentle presence, the light falls of your steps upon the bank of the river where he meets you, water flowing at your feet. You are not the only one swimming that day, but you cut such a majestic figure as you move gracefully through the water, emerging with illuminated droplets descending from your dark hair. Since that very first moment you stuck in Legolas's heart.
He loves the way you hum as you work, dark skirts swirling about the floor as you swish through the kitchen. A smile plays on his lips as he compliments the work you've let out to cool and you drily tease him about stealing it. Instead, he offers to help hand it out and you are grateful to save your energy. Normally you do not prefer company in the kitchen, but this elf's presence is calming rather than draining. Your motions and his assume a rhythm unbroken by distraction.
He runs into you out in town, smiling at the large dog following at your heels while you carry your basket. You look content as you go to market, purchasing all you need. Catching the way your hand runs wistfully over a small ornately bound book, he finds his feet carrying him to market as well, his hands delving into pockets and being rewarded with the weight of a tiny tome. The following day's trip to your kitchen is met not with wry humor, but wide smiles and sheepish revelations of art. "You may think them the smallest of sketches, but to me I see a connection to this world." "Is that your way of saying you can't draw?" Yet another smile you've drawn from the elven prince. "You've caught me there."
When orcs attack your village, his first thought is to get to you, your hearth and your dog and all your little captures of your surroundings, and let any who dare trifle with it know it has a blade and a bow behind it. Boots thudding lightly as always against dirt, then stone, he arrives outside your home to see you there, a glinting sword swinging in each hand. Grinning, he shakes his head. He should have known. Shooting one of your twin assailants off you, he joins the fray. "Sorry I'm late." "You should be!" You grin back at him. "This party started an hour ago."
This visit has only a few days left. Ignoring that, you climb higher into the tree before you settle, pulling the red-and-black swirled book from your small satchel. Legolas sits in the crook of the tree right below yours. "Shall I read or would you prefer to?" It's as if he can sense your energy, see right through your facade to the highs and lows of your heart. The book in question held some of your favorite ghost stories, old legends and more local frights alike. You joke about the prince being able to handle it, but in the end you know whose voice you would prefer to ring out with it that day.
You are the only one Legolas trusts to saddle up his horse, hand him the bags he'd surreptitiously caught you slipping a copy of your book of horrors into as a memento. He says your name softly as a wish when you stand at his mount's side, catching your nod before he captures your lips with his, motions slow, deliberate as if he would wake up from the dream at any moment. Your name is even more delicious whispered after a kiss. "Wait for me." "Who else would I even look twice at?"

But have you ever wondered exactly when this exciting world comes to life each day in India? Or maybe you've thought about how traders, both human and algorithmic, plan their day around these market hours.
Whether you’re a beginner, a curious observer, or someone ready to make your first trade, knowing the stock market timings in India is the foundation of smart trading. And if you're stepping into the world of modern trading, we’ll also explore how algo trading fits into this timing, and what the best software for trading in India is to help you stay ahead of the game.
Discover what time stock market open in India, algo trading in India, and the best software for trading in India for smarter investing decisions.
Introduction to Indian Stock Market Timings
The Indian stock market is like a buzzing marketplace, but with digital boards, numbers instead of vegetables, and rupees flowing through cyberspace. Just like any marketplace, it opens and closes at specific hours.
And just like you wouldn’t show up to a movie after it ends, you don’t want to miss crucial hours in the stock market—especially when timing can literally mean money.
What Time Stock Market Open in India?
This is the most Googled question for any Indian trading beginner—and for a good reason!
The stock market in India opens at 9:15 AM and closes at 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday, except on market holidays.
These timings are followed by two major stock exchanges in India:
NSE (National Stock Exchange)
BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange)
Key Hours:
Opening Time: 9:15 AM
Closing Time: 3:30 PM
Knowing this is crucial whether you're placing manual trades or relying on algo trading bots. Think of it like a cricket match—you can’t score runs if you show up after the last over.
Pre-Opening Session: What Happens Before the Bell?
Before the official market opens at 9:15 AM, there’s a pre-open session from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM.
Here's what goes down:
9:00 AM to 9:08 AM: Orders can be placed, modified, or canceled.
9:08 AM to 9:12 AM: Orders are matched, and equilibrium price is set.
9:12 AM to 9:15 AM: Buffer period—no activity, waiting for normal market to begin.
This session is critical for volatile stocks and IPOs, as initial price discovery happens here.
Normal Market Hours Explained
This is when the real trading action happens—from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM.
During this time:
You can buy or sell stocks.
Prices change in real-time.
Trading volume is at its peak.
This is the main battlefield for both retail and institutional investors, where algo trading in India also kicks into high gear.
Post-Closing Session: What Happens After Hours?
After 3:30 PM, the market isn't dead. It just slows down for some cool-down operations.
3:40 PM to 4:00 PM is the post-close session, where:
Trades are allowed based on the closing price.
It’s useful for mutual funds, bulk deals, or late-position balancing.
It’s like the calm after the storm—a time to reassess, not to take risky trades.
Stock Market Holidays in India
The market doesn’t open on:
Weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
National holidays like Republic Day, Diwali, Holi, Independence Day, etc.
Every year, SEBI and exchanges release a holiday list. If you're into algo trading or use trading software, set your calendars accordingly to avoid execution errors.
How Timings Affect Retail and Institutional Investors
Retail investors typically trade during normal hours, but big players like mutual funds or FIIs often prefer the opening or closing slots for bulk trades.
🧠 Fun Fact: Most market volatility happens in the first and last 30 minutes of the trading day.
So, timing your trades is not just about “when to click buy”—it’s about strategy.
Importance of Timings for Algo Trading in India
In algo trading in India, milliseconds matter. These bots operate based on market data and time-sensitive instructions.
If the market opens at 9:15 AM, algos are ready by 9:14:59—literally a heartbeat before.
They analyze price movements.
Execute trades faster than any human.
Benefit from low-latency environments set around market hours.
Hence, any delay or ignorance of timings can cause missed opportunities or losses.

Intraday vs. Delivery Trading Timings
Intraday trading has to be squared off before 3:15 PM. If you forget, your broker will auto-square it, sometimes at a loss.
Delivery trading lets you hold stocks long-term. You just need to buy before 3:30 PM.
Key takeaway: Intraday = short-term → strict timing Delivery = long-term → flexible holding
Commodity Market vs. Stock Market Timings
Many think they’re the same. They're not.
Stock Market: 9:15 AM – 3:30 PM
Commodity Market (MCX):
Morning: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Evening: 5:00 PM – 11:30 PM (sometimes 11:55 PM)
So if you miss one market, the other might still be open!
Why Timings Matter for Global Investors
India’s market interacts with the world. US markets open at 7 PM IST. So:
Indian markets react to global events the next morning.
Timing trades around Fed meetings or global news is vital.
Tips for New Traders to Make the Most of Market Hours
Plan before 9:15 AM (Use pre-market analysis tools)
Avoid trading in the first 15 minutes unless you're confident
Use software with real-time alerts like Quanttrix or Kite
Monitor closing trends after 3:00 PM for next-day cues
Do’s and Don’ts During Trading Hours
Do’s ✅ Monitor the market open and close ✅ Use algo systems for speed and precision ✅ Use stop-loss always
Don’ts ❌ Don’t panic trade ❌ Don’t rely on tips without research ❌ Don’t place trades during server maintenance times
Conclusion: Timing Is Everything in Trading
The Indian stock market doesn’t just follow the clock—it beats to a rhythm. Understanding this rhythm—when to trade, when to wait, when to exit—makes all the difference between profit and loss.
Whether you're just starting out or stepping into algo trading platform, respecting market timings is your first rule of success. And with powerful platforms like Quanttrix, even complex strategies become doable.
Because in trading, just like in life—timing isn’t everything; it’s the only thing.
