Summary: Charles and Erik embark on a four day road trip across the country. Charles hopes to win back his sister with whom he has fallen out, but in the end, he gets much more than what he had hoped for.

Summary: The story of deaf+dumb!Erik and autistic!Charles told through Magda’s POV.

Thanks for the ask anon. I have to say that outsider POV is such a guilty pleasure of mine. There are some great fics out there that match your description. There are also a few fics that kind of match your description but deviate a bit from your request. I still think they fit the theme. I hope you enjoy!

Summary: As teens, Charles was the star of a super popular tween/teen television show and Erik was his best friend. As adults, they're a frighteningly domestic married couple and Alex, Darwin, and Sean are Erik's nosy co-workers.

Rumor Mill - ikeracity

Summary:  Erik is the grumpiest, most foul tempered worker at Stark industries. His grumpiness is the stuff of legends.

So it's obviously the talk of the office when Erik is being made to go to the company party and he's bringing his husband. There's rumors flying round about how much of a masochist or equally antisocial bastard Erik's husband must be to put up with him. Others think he must be a meek mouse perhaps bullied by Erik.

What they weren't expecting was the confident, charming, adorable and unbelievably nice Charles that turns up on Erik's arm. What they certainly weren't expecting was how much Erik obviously adores his husband and how happy he is to let others see this.

Twice as Blind - Darksknight

Summary: Erik is probably the biggest asshole on the face of the earth, and because of this, he'll probably die alone. Charles is a complete flirt and playboy and, probably, will never commit to anyone ever.

(The lesson here is that when you have two friends who are BOTH secretly seeing someone, well, it's probable that they're seeing each other.)

For Argument’s Sake - Darksknight

Summary: The 'Science Wing Fights' are infamous, mostly because it's exciting to see two teachers really have it out, partially because Charles and Erik have the most intense and interesting fights any college student can dream of. So maybe a rumor or two get spread around to start the fights off, maybe someone mentions a hicky or the possibility of Charles seeing someone, but it's not like anyone's trying to instigate anything. Expect Raven. Raven will always instigate things.

Summary: A ring appears on Professor Charles Xavier's finger. The student body at the University of Utopia embarks on a mission to find its source, and makes an unexpected discovery.

X-Men Apocalypse's 1980s-era powered universe in which the name of the school is more than wishful thinking, at least on mutant-friendly Genosha. Charles Xavier is a genetics professor at the University of Utopia; Emma Frost and Tony Stark are his best friends; Charles’s students are extremely nosy and think they know it all. Erik Lehnsherr is… not what you'd expect.

Erik’s Fake Boyfriend - KatSquared

Summary: Emma Frost had her sights set on Erik Lehnsherr, and so did half the campus. However, he made it a point to reject everyone who’s asked him out, and it seemed the man had a “boyfriend” that no one’s ever seen.

Gossip makes the workplace go’round - ximeria

Summary: Apparently if Erik is in a good mood, his employees have to ponder how that may have come to be. Their ideas are, however, wildly off the mark.

Summary: "now that you've mentioned it, Im actually curious." Angel whispers so that Mr. Xavier won't have to give them his sad puppy eyes to get them back to reading their books.

"Yeah, he's been wearing that ring since he moved here last year, who do you think his wife is?" Raven glances up to make sure Mr. Xavier is still busy helping Sean understand the story, while doing so, she eyed the golden ring on his ring finger.

My favorites -- probably the Reunion stories...

Ooh, more Erik/Charles stuff! I’m so glad people still read those; XMFC was my first BIG fandom (I lurked and did a few little bits of writing for Supernatural, but mostly I was shy) and I made a lot of good friends there, and for that reason it’s always going to be special.

The Reunion fics are interesting because they were both done by request, the first one for my Secret Mutant prompter (hi, @rozf!) and the second one because she asked about a sequel, and at the time the first one wasn’t...necessarily...a prompt I’d’ve randomly written, because in order to write the reunion I had to write a believable break-up, and I tend not to do that, in fic! *laughs* But once I wrote the first one I actually really liked it; I like that version of Charles, being all stubborn, and I like Erik’s stupidly dramatic gestures and emotions! And then the same thing sort of happened: I hadn’t really planned on a sequel, because the first one ‘felt’ fairly complete in my head, so it took a while, but once I figured out the idea behind it, the shape of it, and the fact that they actually needed to think about how to practically make this work, then I had a story, and again, I like how it came out. I really like the last few lines. :-)

this was really hard. i’ve posted quuuuuite a bit this year and... a lot of it i don’t totally remember?? to figure out what i wanted to showcase here, i looked through my 2020 posting schedule and... wow. it’s been a long year, huh?

1. (baby) maybe that matters more - Teen Wolf | Steter | Mature | 16,610 words

the reaction to this fic (the comments, the kudos, the acceptance) single-handedly ignited a drive for writing teen wolf content that i thought was going to be dead forever after a serious of bad experiences. there are still some work i know i’ll never work on again, but i am so exciting to fall back into a world that i loved for so long. i can’t wait to see where this specific fic takes me :)

2. and all i know now is without you i could never find my way - X-Men | Various | General - Explicit | 55,310 words

this series is kind of cheating because 1. it’s a series and 2. i technically started it december 26th, 2019 BUT the other 54k was all written this year! lonk verse is on this list because this is the first thing that i have EVER written that has... transcended myself. i have birth to this four person, crack family, and i’ve seen it grow it something bigger than that. like, not only have i written 55k of this family, other people have written variations of this family, too. that has been one of the most amazing things in the world. i have so, so many plans for the four main family members of this universe that i can’t wait to work on! 

3. to love and be loved by you | MCU | Bruce/Peter | Explicit | 62,688 words

this is a wip, which... is one of the reasons why i wasn’t sure if i wanted to include on this list. another reason was i wasn’t sure if i wanted to include this on this list is because the rough draft for this work was completed in 2019. the reason it’s on here is because i am massively impressed with myself for having a work this long - a work that isn’t even finished! before i posted the first chapter i decided to edit this work. well, that “edit” turned into an incredibly thorough rewrite, and now the first 6 chapters are longer than the entire work used to be.it is the longest thing on my ao3. i know it is going to surpass 100k. it is. the biggest work i have and im so excited to get back to it in 2021!

4. patience is a virtue (i'll reap what i've sewn) - Push (2009) | Nick/Cassie | Explicit | 3,573

as im writing this fic currently has 22 hits and a single comment but... i don’t really care, because it’s one of the first things i’ve written in months that i’ve loved. i loved writing this. i love the story and the concept and the characters i got to play with, and i truly love the finished piece. it made me want to write more, and since usually writing is such a frustrating process itching to be done, that was amazing.

5. take us, together, like the stroke of a bow - Glee | Hummelcest | Explicit | 13,365

i love this fic. it is undoubtedly one of the longest smut fics i have EVER written but beyond that... it grew into a sprawling verse (that i just haven’t written it). i got to thirst of Burt Hummel, by first fatherly crush, and i got to write all the dirty father/son feels i hadn’t had an outlet for since leaving teen wolf. it was really nice to brain storm, really nice to read, and it’s a universe i really like to think about!

THERE ARE TOO MANY AND I AM SORRY

That one fic where they’re two old gays solving a murder mystery

“I see you’re flooding your petunias again,” Charles muses, approaching the partition between the two yards. 

Erik is tempted to point the hose at him. “Oh come off it,” he mutters. “Your daises lasted less than a week.”

“Because you’re flooding your yard and the excess is ending up in mine,” Charles protests.

“Really?” Erik sends him a wry smile. “I assumed it was your terrible attitude.”

“I will repaint your mailbox.” Charles means it. He painted it a terrible shade of chartreuse last time.

Guardian Angel AU

He has never rebelled against heaven. Not the skies that sing gold and spill silver raindrops upon the land. Not the eyes of shining glory that gaze lovingly upon the creations below. 

They call him naive. 

Maybe it is because he is younger than the Archangels. Perhaps because he has never been sent to Earth before. An angel of knowledge without wisdom, studying the evolution of life. He was born with the purpose to love creatures of the Earth imbued in him.

Lucifer was shot down for despising humanity. 

Surely, surely, the same would not happen to Charles.

Memento fic

And Charles knows. Knows from the way his breath catches in his throat. The way Erik’s eyes glisten. 

Oh god, Charles thinks. Because he should have seen it coming, and he didn’t, and the fact that there are still things left to surprise him is almost exciting. Mostly, however, it’s terrifying.

“I cared more about my mission than your mission. That doesn’t mean I care more about my mission than you. I can hurt your moral sensibilities, but to...to see what I have done.” Erik sighs. “I don’t care for your niceties when there are things I can’t take back. But I am sorry.”

He loves you, says the small voice in Charles’ conscious. The one that wisely kept silent for the past year, pretending not to notice what was clear.

Charles regrets what he did next. Regrets making Erik sleep before he can come any closer. Regrets leaving as quickly as possible, the memory of more than one apology now slipping into his mind, away from the source.

Magneto threw the first brick at stonewall

(Basically an AU where Charles learns that Erik was trying to prevent Kennedy’s suicide and testifies for Erik in court/helps Erik escape and go into hiding. They live together now. The year is 1969) 

“You bloody idiot,” Charles mutters. “What made you think that going into town was a good idea? You should be glad I was here to pick you up. I could just let you sleep here.”

“You don’t even know what they arrested me for,” Erik says, voice hoarse.

“As long as it wasn’t another murder,” Charles replies, trying to be sarcastic only for his voice to lower to a gentle hum. 

Erik glances up at him, black eye pronounced. He has a burn scar running down his arm. Charles instantly feels guilty about chastising him.

“It was a riot,” says Erik. “The police were raiding a bar. I stepped in.”

Charles has never known Erik to be private in a way that denotes shame. He’s normally resolute, giving information to those who deserve it. Here he curls in on himself further, vulnerable. Afraid of what he’ll say next.

“A riot?” Charles asks slowly.

Monuments/Moments Revised (TW! flashbacks to the first few scenes in FC, also dr*wning)

By the time Erik realizes that it would be impossible to resurface, it’s too late.

Seawater roars in his ears and stings at his skin, but he strains his ability until the rattling metal of the submarine sings at the tips of his fingers. The current drags along his thin frame, battering. A distant part of him registers that the sensation is painful. 

It doesn’t matter. Shaw dies first.  

Shaw. His creator, who had torn him apart and ripped away whatever it was that had tethered him to humanity. But Erik is no longer that shaking child from a lifetime ago. He is a monster, freeing the strangled scream that remains of his youth. 

Erik, the extension of a tool. Pull. Good little Erik, a weapon, a force of destruction. Can’t let him get away. Oh, Erik, you disappoint me. Move it. Count to three, come on. I’m going to count to three. 

One.

Two.

Something crashes through the water, bubbles rising in a flurry. Erik tightens his grip. 

Three.

Royalty AU

Instead of seeming pleased with the idea, Charles’ expression only drops further, as though he is disappointed. Erik wondered what he would have wanted to hear. A flower falls to the ground. Charles picks it up, twirling it between his fingers. 

“My people are a peaceful one. We have not fought in ages.”

“You could join Shaw willingly,” Erik offers grimly. It’s an outcome he is prepared for.

“I could,” considers Charles. He turns to him with a hint of a smile. “What a wretched thought.”

Erik stares at him. “It is your choice.” 

“Oh, Erik.” To Erik’s surprise, Charles lets out a bemused huff of a laugh. “Do you think I’m so foolish as to trust my kingdom in the hands of a tyrant?”

“I would hope not,” says Erik. “I would not want to insult you if I have.” 

“You assume the worst, my friend,” says Charles. “I wish you didn’t.”

Circling Part two Electric Boogaloo

He happens upon mushrooms that line the forest floor. Not few, but many. As though a great beast had ravaged the forest and taken enough to give back to the earth. They form bands, stretched out and wavering in the wind. Circles that should mean something, if Erik had been taught. 

Red and white bloom. 

Death-caps. They’re called death-caps for a reason.

I just posted the first chapter of a new cherik fic on AO3. It was inspired by a prompt from @jackyjango a while back for EMT!Erik and doctor!Charles. I never meant to take this long, but I had some major health problems and haven't been up to much writing, but I'm on the downside now and getting back to writing. Hope you all enjoy...

Here's a sample...

“If he dies, it's your fault!” A woman's voice, shrill, almost hysterical.

Hardly the first time Charles had heard that line. To be honest, he heard it almost daily, either aloud or in the shrieking thoughts of a distraught loved one. Such was life working in an emergency room.

He turned toward the voice, saw a diminutive woman backing a man up against the corridor wall. The woman was mid-thirties, dark hair pulled back in a messy bun, fear and anger twisting her fine features.

The man, who wore the uniform of one of the local ambulance services, was utterly stunning. Tall, at least six feet, with deep auburn hair, patrician features, ice-aqua eyes, and an absolutely killer body. His hands -- long-fingered, elegant -- were raised, warding the woman off, and his jaw -- strong, sculpted -- was clenched.

Charles wheeled toward them, projecting soothing energy. “Is there a problem here?”

The woman's demeanor shifted, relaxing visibly as she took a step back.

The man, on the other hand, turned his head toward Charles, glared, projected Stay the fuck out of my mind.

Charles wanted to roll his eyes. “I'm not in it,” he said equably as he drew near. “Ma'am, is there something I can help you with?”

She broke down. “My son. They brought him in, and no one seems to know anything, and this one was positively rude.” She dashed tears from her eyes, glared at the EMT.

“What's your son's name?” Charles asked gently. “I'll see what I can find out.”

“James. James Barnes, but we call him Bucky.”

Charles nodded. “Why don’t you go have a seat. I'll let you know as soon as I can.” He projected calm and trustworthiness, and after a moment, the woman shuffled back toward the waiting room.

The EMT's pale aqua eyes regarded him with contempt. “Isn't it illegal to enter someone's mind without consent?”

“I didn't enter your mind. Or hers.”

“I felt you.”

“All I did was project a sense of calm, and I did it in defense of another. Well within what the law -- and hospital policy -- allow.”

“I didn't need defending.” Damn, even the man's voice was sexy, low and husky, with a vague, unplaceable accent.

“You're welcome,” Charles said dryly, irritation winning out over attraction. “Now if you'll excuse me, I really do need to see about that woman's son.”

“You aren't going to just blow her off?’ The man, whose nametag read “Lehnsherr,” arched a brow, sounding surprised and maybe a little impressed.

“Never.” And with that, Charles spun around and wheeled away.

Writing Year in Review

This is the first year I’ve ever had such a productive fanfic output, so I thought I’d do a ‘Year in Review’ style post for my writing.

Amazingly my tumblr followers have grown hugely this year as well - i think I have about double the followers I had when I came back to tumblr after a couple years hiatus.  So if your new to following me, this is a good guide to all my recent writing!

Everything I’ve written this year is Cherik centric.  Somehow I managed to write 12 stories and post over 180k words to AO3.

It takes him less than two weeks to learn through the rumour mill that Charles Xavier is the biggest slut on campus. Thankfully, he has never had any trouble ignoring rumours. Until he and Charles are paired up for a group project that is, and Erik finds himself suddenly in Charles social sphere. Is Charles who everyone says he is? Or is he something... more? WIP, currently 2 chapters and 3998 words.

8) The Consequence of Hiding: Charles is completing his PhD at Oxford when he finds himself in dire need of a new job to support himself and Raven. Erik is a grumpy Mutant Student Counsellor who has yet to fill his student assistant position. Enter Prof. MacTaggert and her matchmaking ways to bring her student and her friend together (in platonic, professional compatibility, of course). Will things stay platonic for Charles and Erik? Only time will tell.

Until one morning at the Xavier estate, Kurt catches him writing a letter to his pen pal and all hell breaks loose.
