Teenage Dream
Pairing: Willard Hewitt (2011 version) x f!reader
Summary: Moving back home turns out more exciting than you'd thought when you run into Willard, your crush from way back.
Words: 2.2k
Warnings: rated M: car sex but not explicit, only mentioned. Aged up Willard so he's mid to late 20s in this!! They're at a bar but no one's actually drunk.
Notes: I don't know if anyone but me is into this but I just wanted to hear it for the boy. Give the boy a hand!! I love him so. Much love, as always, to @a-reader-and-a-writer for betaing and for putting up with my booty-calling ass at all times <3
If you've seen the video of Miles dancing to footloose while driving, that's 100% grown up Willard, just so you know.
Tumblr media
Moving back to Bomont didn't feel nearly as bad as you once had thought it would. Getting out for a few years felt good, sure, and seeing more of the world even better. But now it just felt nice to return home and be closer to your family. Besides, your work allowed a remote position, so it didn't much matter where in the world you were as long as the job got done. And Bomont allegedly had great internet these days, so you figured why not.
Your friend Iris from school had also moved back two years ago, so you knew there was at least one good friend there waiting for you already. It would be nice to catch up with her and be closer again.
And what better way to catch up than go out to the closest bar (which was in the next town) where the clientele wasn't exclusively well over 55. It was a good bar. They had great cocktails and gave discounts to anyone who sang karaoke, so the people were generally in great spirits.
Around midnight, after a couple of drinks that provided an unnecessarily vivid throwback to your teenage years and a powerful duet of I Will Survive, you were on the hunt for some water.
Stumbling right into the solid chest of an actual tall drink of water wasn't on your mission plan but you were willing to roll with the punches. Only before you even had the chance to raise your head and see who the chest belonged to, the man happily shouted out your name.
"Wait– Willard?"
(It really shouldn't have surprised you that in this corner of the world you always had a chance of running into someone you knew.)
That face you recognized. That face hadn't changed basically at all in the nearly ten years that it had been since you last saw him. The rest of his body was what didn't compute. The Willard from school had been tall too, obviously, but also kind of lanky with long flailing limbs. The Willard in front of you now was huge, with broad, strong shoulders and biceps that– okay yeah you were staring. But seriously, that t-shirt had to be a size or two too small.
The man himself fortunately seemed oblivious to your gawking, and instead wrapped you in a quick but enthusiastic hug.
"Great to see you! I heard you were back but didn't expect to run into you just yet. What's it been, nearly ten years? Man, time flies," he prattled on, releasing you and looking you over as if he was cataloging if anything had changed.
"Good to see you too," you finally managed, looking up at him. "Yeah, I moved back just three days ago. But you never left, did you?"
"Hey, I went to college!" He pouted in mock offense. "But yeah, then I came straight back. Big cities freak me out." This time he pretends to shiver. "If I need to experience the wild world for a weekend I go stay with Rusty, but otherwise I'm good here."
"Oh, how is she doing? I haven't seen her in years either."
"She's doing great! She lives with her girlfriend Annie now, and they have a really cute dog," Willard said excitedly.
You knew that Rusty had a girlfriend through Iris who was the one in the loop for all gossip and followed everyone on social media, still keeping up with everything. You hadn't bothered with that so much, but it was still nice to hear these updates. You hadn't been that close with Willard or his gang, but you had some classes together and became friendly enough that way.
"How about you?" you asked. "You and Ren still going strong? Still do everything together?" You smiled a little teasingly because this one you already knew the answer to. You had heard that they had mostly taken over Ren's Uncle Wes's car shop, and apparently business was going so great people came there from out of town in search of better service.
"I accidentally put on his shirt tonight because our laundry keeps getting mixed up. Does that answer your question?" he deadpanned, making you laugh.
"That explains it. I thought your arms looked about ready to burst out of that shirt."
You immediately snapped your mouth shut, feeling embarrassed. Why would you point that out?? He brought up the shirt and your mind immediately went there again, but you didn't need to say it for crying out loud.
Thankfully Willard only laughed. "I know right? I don't understand how it keeps happening, it's not like we even have the same size most of the time. You should have seen one time I put on his sweatpants to run to the store, I thought I was gonna get arrested for public indecency or something!"
You choked a little bit on your water at that mental image.
"I'm sure the old ladies at the market were quite delighted," you chuckled.
Willard snorted. "Yeah, I got some looks alright, though I wasn't sure if they were into it or if they thought I needed Jesus."
The two of you continued catching up, moving farther to the edge of the dancefloor where you could talk without having to shout. You had no idea how much time had passed until Iris came to knock on your shoulder. After greeting Willard, she turned back to you, pulling you aside to talk a little more privately.
"How would you feel about me staying here in town for the night? We can totally head home together, but I have a chance to get laid if I stay here. Maybe you could get a ride with Willard?"
"You wanna go and have a sleepover with Alex?" you teased her. You knew Alex was her regular companion here, that she was kind of hoping would turn into something more, so you couldn't begrudge her.
"Could I?" she tried a half apologetic, half pleading smile. "You and Willard seem to be hitting it off." Her eyes were pointedly looking in the man's direction, who was still hovering a few feet behind you.
"Speaking of which. You didn't warn me he looks like that now!" you hissed. She was the one who was supposed to relay all the interesting knowledge to you!
"Well, I mean, he doesn't do anything for me. I didn't think it was important," she shrugged.
"But you know I was super into him in school, obviously he does it for me!"
"That was ages ago! I'm barely into people I liked two years ago let alone in school!"
"But it's Willard," you gesticulated broadly with your hands, hoping to emphasize the point.
"Alright, fine, I understand. But we're getting off track here." And with that Iris side-stepped you to talk to the man himself. "Hey Willard, could you take her home tonight? I'm staying in town, but I trust you to keep her safe," she smiled sweetly, playing all innocent.
You noted three things. One, she used the words take her home, and you were definitely going to kick her for that later. Two, Willard didn't even need to be buttered up, because of course he would help an old friend. And three, he honest to god puffed out his chest at Iris telling him he was trustworthy. Even tipped his hat, giving her his word that he'd take care of you.
Goodness gracious, you might not survive this night.
"Are you sure it's not too much trouble? And that you're good to drive?" you wanted to check.
"I've only had one beer tonight, I'm cool. And it's no trouble at all, I promise," he smiled.
With that, Iris took her leave, but not before giving you a hug, demanding you check in later, and threateningly muttering something about crushed testicles to Willard. He looked appropriately nauseated.
Clearing his throat a couple of times, Willard turned to you again. "Uh.. uhm, do you want to go home right now or, uh, do you wanna dance for a bit?"
"I could dance for a bit, yeah!" You were so proud of yourself for sounding totally cool and normal.
The dance floor was unfortunately packed because the night was at that point where everyone had had just the right amount of liquid courage to let loose.
But no one let loose like Willard.
You had never before danced with a guy, or anyone really, who was so willing to absolutely tear up the dance floor with no regard to how it looked. Of course, Willard looked fantastic – Ren was a great teacher after all – but more important was the fact that he was genuinely having fun with it.
It was infectious. Not just to you, but to the people around you as well, though it seemed Willard was unaware of the effect he had.
You were breathless with laughter, and sweaty as hell, but you didn't mind. That is until the song switched to something slower and sensual, and Willard held you so close you knew he could feel your sweat-soaked back. What had started as an overexaggerated "sexy" grind making you laugh wasn't that funny anymore. It had morphed from a joke into something actually hot, and you were breathless for a whole different reason.
Before you could get too in your head about it, the song changed again, this time to an upbeat rock song. You continued dancing, but the energy from before was gone and the crowd on the dancefloor was thinning, so you noticed another need taking over.
"I'm kind of hungry, would it be okay to leave now?" you asked, shouting up to Willard.
"Sure, what did you have in mind?"
You wanted a burger. So that's what Willard got you.
The night air felt exceptionally lovely after the sweaty bar. You ate your burgers on the bed of Willard's truck, because he was surprisingly strict about not getting a mess inside the car.
On the drive home, you talked more about what both of you had been up to in the last almost decade, while still jamming along to the radio. There was no stopping Willard.
"In college Ren dragged me to cheerleading tryouts. He had that gymnastics background and thought it would be fun, but, honestly, back then I thought that cheer was just for girls. I obviously don't think that anymore." He rolled his eyes – you did too. "Anyway, I got sucked into it. Now I coach two teams, so that's a lot of my free time spent with that. It's gotten pretty popular in Bomont lately!" he gushed.
"I don't doubt that, with you coaching," you chuckled.
"What do you mean?" He glanced at you.
"You know, 'cause you're so likable. You're the kind of person who gets others excited too, and I'm sure you're a really great coach."
"Oh. Thanks."
Willard was trying to hide his smile, but there was no hiding that blush. You thought it looked adorable.
As the conversation went on, you moved from trading stories to light flirting and playful banter, the mood in the truck relaxed but cheerful. At one point you made Willard laugh so hard he had to pull over to an empty lot not too far from home to avoid crashing. After the last giggles subsided into quiet hiccups, you just continued talking. It took you nearly thirty minutes of conversation to realize that a) Willard never started the car again and you had just been standing still in that same spot where he pulled over, and b) you two had drifted closer to each other while talking, so much so that Willard's face was mere inches from yours.
Which made you realize your gaze kept dropping to his lips a whole lot. They just looked so.. kissable. You'd always thought so. His lips looked so soft and plump, his smiles so warm, that you desperately wanted to lean in and get a taste.
It was nearing two am but you were wide awake, nerves alight with excitement from Willard's proximity.
And unless you were much mistaken, his pupils were fairly dilated, looking at you just now.
"In my experience, if someone looks at your lips a lot it means they want to kiss you," Willard murmured quietly.
You couldn't even bother to pretend to be embarrassed about getting caught.
"Yeah, I think that's true," you breathed, looking into his eyes that were now boring into yours.
"Do you think it's true or is it true?"
"Yes."
"That doesn't make any sense."
"Yes, I want to kiss you."
"Oh thank god," Willard groaned and cupped your cheek, pulling you in the rest of the way.
-
2:24 am
"Should we stop? You said you don't want your truck to get messy," you panted.
"I've had a shift in priorities. I no longer give a shit about my truck," he murmured into your neck without even stopping the movement of his hips.

Your text to Iris at 2:59 am:
I may have just lived a teenage dream of mine and fucked Willard Hewitt in his truck. Now home ok. Talk tomorrow❤️
You fell asleep immediately, and let the responding reaction gifs and exclamation points be tomorrow's problem.

Your Harbinger Christmas fic made me melt like an ice cream, especially when i read Capitano's section 😭💓🛐 the way u write him in the fic had me in tears, i love him so much 😭💞💞
I just love the thought of Capitano being this "A dangerous and powerful man who leads an entire army to a war, a man who is feared but also respected by many people and all of his foes calling him a monster in battlefield". But when he is alone with reader, he suddenly became a man that wants to be loved 😭 its funny but also really cute and sweet 🥺💓.
I can't stop thinking about "before" both Capitano and reader being together, i believe that someone like him never celebrate holiday.. He probably spend it for training himself, strategizing war tactics, etc. So of course he had no idea of how being festive. But now that they are together, seeing him finally can relax and reader teaching him few things about holidays is just makes my heart flutter (he deserves everything good 🙏😭)
About that part where reader gave him that "ugly" Christmas sweater as a joke.. It may look ugly to them, but for him its beautiful bcs its literally A GIFT from HIS S/O and i think he will cherish it forever ❤ (idk why, but i think reader will starts to feel bad and decided to give him a good one 😅).
And also, shopping with him is probably a bit funny to think of bcs its the only time both Capitano and reader argue with each other. Capitano keep insisting of carrying all of the items they bought while reader trying to tell him to give some of it to them. Also imagine him raising his hands up with all of the items effortlessly while reader trying to reach to grab one of the items from him is just funny and cute (other people are watching them too btw).
Anyways, thank you so much for always making my and everyones day better with ur fic smooches 🛐🛐🙏 i hope you have a great holiday with ur families and friends! Remember to take care yourself! And happy new year! 🎉🎊
(Before i go, remember ur fic about fragile!reader but they already dead? I can't stop imagining the angst about the Harbingers spending holidays without their s/o 🙃 okay that's all, see you!)
-🥝
I'm so glad you liked my Christmas ramblings 🥝 anon!💓💓 (When I was writing Capitano's part I was thinking of u ngl, I was like what will🥝 anon think?) AND YEWWWW I love thinking about Capitano the same way🛐 Very tough and deadly but when he's in the comfort of his lover's arms he just wants to let his guard down and succumb to them :3 And yea, he never cared for the holidays, though he always lets his soldiers go spend time with their families if they want (he's a good captain, otherwise he wouldn't be respected!) So soldiers who stay in the headquarters are used to seeing him working, but when one Christmas comes around they don't see him and they're like ??? huh?? Until later they find out he got himself a cute lil partner to finally spend time with😭💞😭💞😭💞
AND YESSS CAPITANO CHERISHES EVERY SINGLE THING READER GIVES HIM. Literally could give this man a rock with a smiley face and he'd take It so seriously. (And yes reader def gives him a nicer sweater bc they cant take him seriously in the older one😭💞) And shopping with him is so funny - he NEVER lets you carry anything, which is very gentlemanly, but you're also like!! Hey let me do something!! But he never lets you, he wants to treat you like royalty and also is slightly scared of its being too heavy🛐 I can just imagine him holding everything up high while having your grocery list in the other hand as he's trying to figure out with aisle has the item, and you're trying to tackle his arm to let the stuff down😭
Thank you 🥝 anon for your delicious brain rot I enjoyed it very much 😌 I hope you had a wonderful holidays and a great new year!! Take care of yourself too nonnie <333
(You just had to make it sad at the end...😢😢 Idek what to say... the holiday spirit would be completely dead. The only wish they had was an impossible one - for you to come back into their arms😭😭 STOPPP IM SAD NOW- unless you come to visit them in their dreams🥺 they would be so happy until they wake up and realize they were just dreaming...)

Good morning, friends.
So what I wanted to talk about the other night—
I suffer from a problem I call “magical thinking.”
Here’s what happened:
[Sex talk below the cut.]
After dinner we went back to his apartment and I was giving him birthday sex.
We broke-up last March (after 3 years together) and in the 8 months since, neither of us have been with anyone else.
I felt out of practice. Once upon a time I was one of those who would have competitive sex, not casual sex. I would have marathon sex. Olympic sex. But those days are gone. I am retired from sex life.
But once I got out of my head and let my intuition take over, my body remembered how to work him like an instrument and make him sing. It was very hot. Both of us were very aroused. And we were both ready to take it to the next level.
But just as I was starting to top him, an idea popped into my head...
Background information - I exist in the spirit world. Everything to me is energy. I have a very tenuous grasp on "agreed upon" reality. Constantly half of me exists in the "real" world and the other half is in the "spirit" world.
This is exactly why I do NOT use plant medicines (marijuana & mushrooms) - when I do, I am 100% in the spirit world. And I lose ALL grasp on reality. And that is not a fun or safe space for me.
...when I started to top him, I slipped into the spirit world. (Without any plant medicines.)
What I saw was, if I top him I will die.
If you all remember my mushroom incident from July 26 (the day Sinead O'Connor died), this is a running theme of mine -- thinking I'm dying. And although I am not afraid to die, it is NOT my time, my kids still need me. And when I think that I am dying (or that I am already dead) I begin to have a panic attack.
And that's what happened when we were having sex, I started to have a panic attack. My pulse was racing. I began hyper-ventilating.
To this date he still doesn't know that I started to have a panic attack while making love to him. I am proud of how well I covered for it. Luckily hyper-ventilating sounds a lot like sex. I was still 100% invested in giving him great birthday sex. And if he knew what I was going through internally, that would kill the mood. I was not going to ruin his birthday. I drove all the way out to Palm Springs to do this to him. (Otherwise he would have been all alone on his birthday.)
I simply stopped topping him and began doing other things to him that he enjoys and I ultimately gave him an earth shattering birthday sex biting a pillow orgasm.
Dave - why did you think you were going to die?
An invisible small thin silver thread connects people together. It is the flow of energy between two people.
A fire hydrant flowing full-blast connects Michael and I. It is big and loud and multi-colored like a rainbow. I have physically seen it a few times. But I can feel the connection, always. Distance does not matter.
Sex is about returning to source. Two souls become one. And in that moment I felt that all my life, everything has been leading up to this moment—if I enter him, if our two souls become one, if our souls are reunited, I will die. This was my destiny. Reunification. A return to source. My life’s journey complete. I will cease to exist in the "real" world. The "real" world is only an illusion. The REAL real world is Spirit World. That is where we are immortal. That is where we are all One. That is where a part of me always exists, conscious in the spirit world.
And now I don't think I can ever have intercourse with him again. This idea will always be in my head. Sure, I can do other things to sexually pleasure him. But not that.
Anyhow... the 24 hours after that incident I was in my head a lot about this. But now with time and distance I am understanding it more. And I really don't see him very often anymore, just every couple of months. We are broken up, only friends. I don't see myself in a committed relationship with him again in this lifetime. But it is nice to play with him every now and then. No one else feels as good as he does when we become one. We are both into the same thing. Our parts fit.

Applin Of My Eye Ch3 An Unexpected Reunion P2
Tumblr media
The day had been good so far.
Turrffield was a town of peace and quiet. Most of the time it was anyways. Unless some of his wooloo got out, or if he was battling at his local gym. Otherwise it was pretty peaceful, which was how he liked it most of the time. Nothing could beat the way the breeze quietly blew through the fields and the wooloos cutely baaed their own language as they played in the fields. That day had been no different, when he had gotten up bright and early and started the day by making breakfast for himself and Felix. They had a lot to do today so they were going to need a good meal to start off. Speaking of said little brother- Smaller footsteps came from upstairs and got closer and closer until Felix appeared bounding down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Morning Milo!," Felix greeted with a smiling as he walked right up to him, attracted to the sight, smell, and sounds of sizzling sausage and eggs. "I see you got breakfast already done."
He gave a smile of his own back to his baby brother. "Hahaha! Actually you're just in time for me to serve it to you." The pan with said food was lifted off the stove top as Milo turned to the table, spatula in the other hand.
"Oh yum!" Felix wasted no time to jump into the nearest chair with a plate set in front of it just in time for Milo to push some of the desired food on it with a tilt of his pan.
It made his brother chuckle. "Careful. It's hot since I just took it off the stove. Hows the online classes coming along?"
"Just fine! I got a B back from the history exam we did the other day."
"That's great, Felix! You're making great progress on everything. I'm proud of you! Make sure you eat up. We have a lot of work to get done this weekend."
Felix gave him a look grabbing the fork. "What's on the agenda this time, Mi?"
"Oh lots of things. We have to clean out the barn, store the hay bails in the barn once we clean it, and we have to sheer the wooloo's tomorrow so we can ship it off. It's going to be a lot of work to get done in two days but I'm sure we can get it done if we work together."
Felix nodded before pausing. "Hey. Milo." His brother hummed. "Has-..H-Has anyone called about Daisy yet?"
It was Milo's turn to pause before giving a sad frown. "Oh. Sorry, Felix. No one's seen her yet, but don't worry. She'll pop up soon! I know it!"
Felix's expression didn't look up from his uneaten food. "...I miss her Milo. I really do."
"I know, Buddy. I do too." He hummed. "...Tell you what. It shouldn't take us too long to get the barn ready and hay stored. As soon as we're done with that we can go look for her again. How does that sound?"
"Y-Yeah. I think I'd like that a lot."
"That's the spirit! Go ahead and eat up. The sooner we finish, the sooner we can take a look around town again."
Poor Felix. He's been upset ever since his little wooloo buddy ran off almost three months ago. He suspected Daisy slipped through the hole he discovered in the fence that day, but none of Milo's wooloo were missing so it was hard to say. Since then they've been doing everything they could think of to find the special wooloo. Missing posters, asking around, combing through the woods, and he even went a while step further and contacted his league friends asking that if any shiny wooloo was spotted near them to contact him immediately. But so far nothing had come up, which was starting to make him worry a bit. But there really wasn't anything they could do but keep and eye out and keep looking until she was eventually found. Hopefully it'd be soon so Felix wouldn't worry for much longer. However he had no idea how soon they're prayers would be answered.
The barn itself wasn't too hard to clean. Just move a few things around and use a firm broom to sweep away any dirt and stray wooloo fur. The real challenge would be to roll all those hay bails inside to store for later use. That's where he came in. He had a much easier time rolling the giant heavy bails from their random spots on the field and over into the barn, in the meantime Felix busied himself doing other things like watering the crops and feeding the herd of wooloo as he wasn't strong enough yet to move such heavy hay bails like Milo. He will one day, but until then Milo won't let him do any of the dangerous heavy lifting. Things were coming along real fast. If they kept this up, they'd be all done before noon even hit! He was already down to one of the last hay bails anyways when Felix came quickly bounding back up to his side.
"I'm all finished with everything else. Can we go look now?"
"There's only a few bails left for me to move. We can go looking as soon as I'm done."
"Can't you do the rest of them when we come back?"
" By then it'll be too late for anymore work, Felix. And I don't want you going off searching by yourself and getting lost. Just be patient for a few more minutes. Ok?"
Felix deflated but it would be better for him to wait for Milo to finish so they can look around together. The last thing he wanted was for Felix to get lost or hurt himself trying to search for his missing  wooloo. He wouldn't be too long now anyways, just a few more hay bails and he'd be all done-
"Excuse me!"
He paused mid roll. What was-
"You in the field!" Both Milo and Felix looked over and we're surprised to see what appeared to be a woman standing by their fence waving an arm at them. What the? Who was that? "I think I found your missing wooloo!"
Those few words sparked them into pausing at that. Wha- A MISSING WOOLOO?! THEIRS?! He was pretty sure that none of his herd had gotten out again. The woman was too far away to clearly make out who it was, but the voice sounded oddly.... familiar. Was she one of the locals maybe? Wait. What was that small thing right next to her?
"DAISY!!"
He nearly jumped from the volume of Felix's voice before his brother with the speed of a rapidash on a sugar high took off towards the fence and whoever it was. The last thing you really expected was the teen dropping anything his hands right then and there before charging right at you or the fact that you would  suddenly found yourself falling over. Landing flat on your back. Looking up at the sky from the ground as a brown blur bowled you over by ramming into your legs and continued on pawing at the fence happily giving out the loudest baas you'd ever heard. Felix never wasted any time hopping the fence like a desperate kangastan and running right up to the brown baaing blur arms outstretched.
"DAISY!!"
"Oh my Arceus!" Milo's mouth dropped in shock as he just literally watched someone go flying by getting knocked over by a wooloo. Of course he went running right over, one hand clutching his hat. "Oh no. Oh no. Hey Miss! Are you ok?!"
You laid there dazed for a good while just staring up at the fluffy white clouds going across the sky as your brain was slowly processing what exactly happened. ...Huh. You must've hit your head harder than it felt because the sky looked a lot like Silver all of a sudden. It even chirped at you just like him and a pink hand rapidly patted your face. It took you a good few moments to realize that it WAS Silver standing over you and patting your face.
"...Ow." You groaned slowly prying yourself off the ground to prop yourself up on your elbows, brain catching up to you finally. "I'm gonna feel that in the morning. Remind me to never turn by back on a wooloo again, Sil." Silver chirped at you. You groaned blinking your f/c eyes for a moment at some strange noises but paused at what you witnessed.
"Hey, Lady!! Are you ok over there?!" Milo called out again as he quickly got closer and closer, more worried the longer the woman didn't answer. Oh no. Did she get knocked out? Would he have to call a flying ambulance?! He finally reached the fence hand grabbing onto the white wooden fence, panting. He saw she had sat up and her eyes were open (thank Arceus) but she was stone still. "Are you alright?! That looked like a hard fall you took!" She remained silent. "Hey! Why aren't you answering? Are you hurt?! I need to know-" he glanced over. "-so I...can..."
He stopped and stared at the sight of Felix, his little baby brother, was sitting there crosslegged slightly rocking back and forth with soft sobs escaping his mouth. Wrapped up tight in his arms was a wooloo who he knew all too well, she was baaing absolutely happy and waving her little legs around not minding at all that there was a kid death hugging her with his face half way smooshed into her brown wool. If he looked hard enough he could even see a few makings of tears rolling down his exposed cheek. He stared at the sight before him. Slowly letting the scene sink in.
"....Daisy?" The wooloo turned to him hearing her name and based in greeting to him. "Daisy! It is you!" An instant smiled appeared on his face and with one strong hop, kicked himself over the fence the same way Felix did. "Hey girl! Where have you been?" Daisy only baaed happily and eagerly accepted the head Pat's Milo gave him. "But you're here and you're alright!" He blinked. "...And you've been...sheered?"
"Yeah. Sorry about that." He blinked back over when someone grunted and saw you were slowly picking yourself up off the ground and slowly stretching your body out, your back giving a few small pops. Yep. You were definitely going to be feeling that tomorrow morning. With a groan your hands rubbed your back with a hiss escaping your lips. "She was pretty roughed up when my friends found her so we kinda had to fix a few things." You waved as he blinked. "She's lost some wool and she's a bit under weight but I think she's ok. Ow."
Milo froze. The wheels whirling in his mind until it stopped and he lit up in both the color pink and realization. "I-...I-I-Its you!"
You nodded. "It's me. Hey there, Milo. It's good to see you again."
His cru- I mean the lady that saved Galar?! Here?! What was she doing here?! But most importantly -
"A-Are you alright?", He asked holding out a hand. "That looked like a hard fall you t-t-took there. I know wooloo are a lot stronger than people think."
You waved him off. "Nah. I'm fine. It's not the worst thing that's happened to me, and it's not the first time I've gotten bowled over by a wooloo either."
"Oh Arceus. Don't remind me." He frowned guiltily. "And again sorry for that. And sorry Daisy knocked you over like that."
"Daisy?"
Milo gestured to the shiny wooloo as Felix sniffed and finally looked up at the newcomer. "She's my little brother's pokemon, but she went missing a few months ago. We've been looking for her everywhere. Where did you find her?"
"Found her in Postwick." You pointed at Daisy. "Then we just cleaned her up and followed the address on her collar there."
"Postwick? How'd she get all the way there?" That was a good distance away from Turrffield even. He shook his head starting to calm down from his shock over everything now. "Well I guess that doesn't matter. What's important is that she's back safe and sound now." He smiled again. "And I can't thank you enough, but are you sure you're alright?"
"Believe me. I'm perfectly fine, plus I'm used to this by now with everything I've been through. But I did want to ask you about something -"
He held up a hand. "I know exactly what that is."
You blinked before raising a brow. "Wait. Really?"
"Yes, but I should really finish putting the hay away." He politely gestured to the farmhouse behind him. "Why don't you go inside and have a rest and I'll get right back to you." He hummed before turning to Felix who just stood back up still sniffling. "Hey. You go ahead and have a break too. Ok? I'm sure Daisy's hungry from her trip so why don't you go feed her?"
Felix sniffled but nodded and went back to cuddling into Daisy's wool before turning....Felix? OH!! FELIX!! THAT WAS THE NAME ON THE COLLAR!! Daisy must've belonged to Milo's little brother all along.
"Felix will show you inside. I'll be there as soon as I get the rest of the hay bails in the barn. It shouldn't take more than twenty minutes."
"Oh..." You smiled making him blink. "Thanks! That's really kind of you."
He coughed but nodded before quickly turning away to hop back over the fence and quickly walking back over to the remaining few bails. You slowly turned back to the house and just saw Felix staring at you from the doorway. Guess he was waiting for you. Slowly, you walked all the way up to stand on the porch, and it was only then did Felix turned, sniffled, and shuffled to hold Daisy under one arm to open the door.
"C-C'mon in," Felix said nodding his head to the inside.
"I will thanks."
With Silver waddling at your feet, you followed Felix into the house and...It did NOT look at all like you were expecting. You were expecting a farm house to have all kinds of rustic furniture or country styled decor hanging up everywhere or even a rocking chair somewhere but you saw none of that. All the furniture looked some state of new-ish and not rustic hand me down oldies you were expecting. Honestly it looked and felt more like Hop's house except everything has some kind of green and white color scheme. But then again what were you expecting from a grass type gym leader? Speaking of which there was plenty of grass type Pokemon decor around here along with a lot of wooloo things too. A wooloo shaped cookie jar. A petili  themed plant pot on the shelf there. And even the sofa in the living room had eldegoss looking throw pillows. Ah. Wasn't that one of Milo's pokemon? Felix went ahead and plopped himself down on an armchair still refusing to Iet go of Daisy and just nodded politely to the sofa.
"Y-You can sit there if you'd like, Miss."
"Thank you. And you can just call me Y/n. It's easier that way." You took him up on his offer and sat down across from him. "So... That's your wooloo huh?"
He nodded and for the first time since you got there saw him smile. "Y-Yeah. *Sniff* She's my favorite pokemon."Daisy happily baaed as she was pulled tighter against the boy. "Y-You have no idea how worried I w-was about her. I thought I'd never see her again."
"I imagine it must've been a rough time. I know I'd feel the same way if I ever lost Silver here." Said drizzlie just sighed and flopped face first on the floor. Felix sniffled again as you watched. "...Here." In a swift motion, you reached into a pocket on your shirt and pulled out a handkerchief before extending it to Felix whom blinked surprised at you. "I always carry some with me since Silver's a messy eater, but you can have this one."
Felix stared at it before smiling again and taking it from you. "T-Thanks."
"It's my pleasure. It's also good to see you again too." He blinked confused from behind wiping his eyes. "We saw each other last year. Don't you remember me? I was the one who babysat everyone at the Champion Cup."
A flash of realization crossed his face. "Ooohh. I remember you. You're the one that gave my brother and I those keychains and free food last Christmas." You smiled. "You also got ran over by Willy. Sorry about that."
"...Willy?"
"He was the wooloo that escaped that day. Gave my brother a run for his money. Wooloo's are always finding new ways to escape around here. Milo's chasing them through town all the time."
Milo named his wooloo? You sighed. "It's alright. Things happen. But I haven't seen you since last year. Congratulations on making it to the semifinals by the way. It must've been a tough ride."
Felix groaned. "Don't remind me. I had to fight Kabe ten times and Raihan thirty two times before I even got through, and then I barely made it time to qualify for the finals! Everyone went through like a breeze."
"You still did a great job. Don't knock your hard work! You got really far."
"Thank you. It was great to be there even if I did lose the first match. The Champion's brother is a real good fighter too so I guess that runs in their family.''
You nodded. Hop was a good fighter, and you briefly remembered watching him fight against Felix in the semifinals before Hop ultimately won. Felix had still put up a good fight however. You remembered the last time you saw the brothers was when you were forced into a babysitting gig-
knocking.....MORE. KNOCKING!!! Came from the door again drawing a few people attention as you looked on over and stared blankly. Until another knock came and you sighed as whoever it was just opened the door, and you prayed it was FINALLY Leon-...Nope. You stared as not one but SEVEN people walked in. And your jaw dropped a bit when seeing who it was exactly. Milo and Melony!! What the heck were those two doing here? Didn't they have to worry about their battle next? ...You got your answer as five children walked in with them. Three of them, boys all around Allister's age, giggled like little maniacs as they rushed in and ran straight for the chairs set up by the windows.
"Wha- Hey! Watch where you're going!," Bede barked as the three ignored him immediately clambering up the chairs only to press their hands and faces on the windows looking out at the repair team and crowds below.
You blinked as you stared at them, the three all had hair ranging from blonde to blondish-white hair and all with blue eyes. ...They looked a bit similar to Gordie actually.
"Boys! Where are your manners? Be nice to the other kids."
You looked back towards the sound of the voice and saw that Melony was giving the three a frown as a girl stood next to her. She looked around the same age as Gloria, only like Melony she sported snow white hair and the same blue eyes as her and the boys. Were they related? The girl looked slightly embarrassed but next to her was Milo and standing right beside him was a boy also around the same age as Hop and Gloria. You blinked at first thinking you were seeing double as this boy could easily pass for a much younger Milo. But the boy looked different too. Both had the same pink hair and green eyes, but compared to Milo the boy had darker green eyes and lighter pink hair, and no freckles were on his face which was something Milo had that he didn't. Everyone was staring at the commotion that had once again walked in through the door and inevitably as the two grown ups looked around, Milo eventually spotted you staring back at them confused and shocked from the couch. He smiled back widely and gave a wave towards you.
Hello!," he greeted catching Melony's attention over to you too as you stared. "Um. So sorry to barge in like this. Definitely not our intention." He have a sheepish smile. "But we heard from Raihan you were watching everyone's children up here for them." He hand came down to pat the smaller him on the shoulder. "My brother's visiting the city today and I think he'll be better off here out of the way. I'm kinda busy at the moment with things."
"As am I." Melony sighed before placing her hands on her hips in the way only a tired mother could. "I can't ask Gordie to just watch them and I hate letting my little frostlings out of my sight. Can't turn my back for one second and their trying to climb a wall like a Bug-type."
Raihan. Of course!! That guy just had to go on and blab about this to the others. You scowled in annoyance. "Im gonna put out that dragon's fire next time I see him."
"...Pardon?"
"Uh..Nothing." You looked back to them with a small smile. "Let me guess. You guys want me to watch these little guys too?"
Aren't you a bit.." Milo gave a look over all the other kids already there. "...Booked? Maybe this wasn't a good idea after all. You look like you already got your hands full in here."
"What other choice do we have?", Melony asked looking back at him. "I can't just leave them in the stands by themselves? Elsa can't watch all the boys by herself, and Gordie's not an option either. It's either this or we'll both have to forfeit the match."
"I know. I know. It's just-"
"I can do it." They both looked back to you smiling and standing from the couch to face them. "It'd be no problem since I've babysat before."
They both looked to you before Milo asked unsure, "Are you sure? I mean Felix won't be any trouble, but we don't want to over burden you."
You waved him off. "Nah it's fine. You guys can just leave them here and pick them up after the finals are over."
Long story short...You went from five kids to watching ten now. Sigh. The triplets and their older sister immediately took attention to the window at least. Everyone seemed too distracted to really pay attention to you as you waited for your ramen to cook. You didn't even know Milo and Gordie were big brothers too.
"Ok Felix. Watch closely and learn how your big bro does things."
And then the whole Rose revived Eternatus thing happened and you had to leave everyone with Mrs. Opal to catch up with your friends. You hoped Milo wasn't angry about that. You didn't think he was Considering he never mentioned it so you guessed he was ok with what happened. But you made a mental note to apologize to him for that later anyways.
"Sorry for bailing back there anyways. I had an emergency I had to take care of."
"You guys saved an entire region, so I think I can understand the situation."
You were about to ask him another question but was interrupted by the sounds of the front door opening and closing. You both looked up and a moment later none other than Milo himself walked into the living room. Upon seeing the two of you he smiled.
"Thanks for waiting. Sorry again if it took so long," he apologized.
"No it's alright. Felix was keeping me company, but what I really wanted to ask about was th-"
"Of course. After all I did advertise it in the missing posters." He didn't let you say another word before reaching into a pants pocket and pulling out a wallet.
"What are you doing?"
"The reward money. I promised three hundred dollars to anyone who found Daisy." He opened the wallet.
"I don't want that."
He paused just as he was reaching into said wallet before blinking. "What?"
"I said I DON'T want your money." You pointed back at him. "Put your wallet away and keep your money."
He blinked. "W-What? But I did promise it to whoever brought Daisy home."
"I didn't even know about any reward money!", You insisted holding your hands up, "I brought Daisy to the address on her collar because I assumed she was lost. Even if I knew about any reward money I still wouldn't accept anything because it was the right thing to do. I'm glad Daisy's back but that doesn't mean I'll take your money."
"Well-...I-" He looked a bit lost between his wallet and your face. "..W-Well at least let me give you some money for your troubles. Traveling all the way from Postwick and getting knocked over by our wooloo should at least earn you a hundred doll-"
"Milo!," You sternly cut him off with a frown, "I appreciate the gesture but Im NOT gonna take even a penny from you. I don't want your money at all. What I did was my own choice because it was simply the right thing to do. If I want money I can go out and work for it. You shouldn't have to pay me for making sure your Pokemon's home. If you just give me money anyways, I'll just give it right back." You stood now and reaching over, you took the wallet from Milo only to close it and put it back in the stunned farmers hands. "So please just put your wallet away. It's perfectly fine."
You then made Milo's hand close around the wallet....and his green eyes went from your face and your hands holding his..before his face lit up a bright pink. Felix went wide eyed at his brother's reaction to the woman... before a sly idea went across his face. So the small teen coughed making Milo jump and you both look at him.
"*ahem* Well golly, Miss. We sure do appreciate you went out of your way to do for us. What will you be doing now?"
You finally let go of Milo's hand. "I'll be resting for the rest of today then head on back home tomorrow morning."
"Oh, I see. Where will ya be staying?"
"I have a tent and sleeping bag. I'll just camp out tonight."
"Well..Why don't you stay here for the night?"
You both stared at him. "What?"
"You don't want any money which is all fine and dandy, but we'd still like to pay you back. So why don't you spend the night here and have dinner with us?"
"Oh. No. I couldn't ask you all to do that."
"It'd be no problem!" Felix smiled. "Milo's a great cook, and you can stay in the guest room! We wouldn't mind. Do we Milo?"
"Huh? O-Oh." He cleared his throat quickly and looked away. "I d-don't mind a bit. *Ahem* Of course you're free to stay if you wish. I-It would be no problem. I W-Wont force you to stay if you don't want to however. You're free to do a-as you wish."
You stood there for a moment thinking about it. "Well..I guess it would be nice to sleep in a bed before I'm forced to camp again and sleep on train seats. But there's one thing I'd like to check out in Turrffield tho. Do any of you know about the house for sale just up the road?"
Milo looked too busy fumbling with the green scarf around his neck nervously so Felix nodded. "That's the old Jenkins place. It's been up for sale for a while now but no one really wants to do business with that grouchy rude raisin."
"F-Felix! Be nice. O-Old Man Jenkins can't help it if he's a -a little under the weather most of time."
"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind when I go check out that place. I'll.. probably be back before it gets too dark but I'll see."
"Y-Yeah! You do that! T-T-Take your time!" He floundered as you excused yourself and saw yourself out Silver in tow.
As soon as the door closed behind her Felix turned to Milo's still red face giving the smugest of looks only a little brother could. "Woooow. You could not have made your crush anymore obvious, Bro."
Now usually one would deny such accusations or tell their little brother to shut it, but Milo only sighed and didn't even try to deny it. Felix would only see right through him anyways. He never was good at hiding these things. "Y-You really think so?"
"Uh. Lemme check. Blushing and looking like you're about to pass out any moment while talking to her? Yep! That's obvious I-totally-have-a-crush-on-you 101 right there. She was probably just too polite to say anything or thought she might've accidentally embarrassed you when she refused the money." Milo groaned again a hand reached up to rub his face. "Hey. Don't beat yourself up, Mi. It's normal to like someone. But ain't that the same girl who gave you free food last Christmas?"
He nodded with a sigh. GOSH!! Y/N WAS SO NICE!! IT MADE HIS HEART MELT!! "Yes. A-And she helped save Galar and Leon so-so... she's pretty good hearted. That's probably why she turned down the money."
"Oh. Well anyone who gives us free food and returns wooloo's is good enough for you in my books."Daisy let out a happy baa which made Felix smile. "Oh. Your welcome by the way."
Milo rose a brow puzzled. "Your welcome for what?"
"I got her to come over for dinner. You can make a good impression on her that way. After all they say the fastest way to a person's heart is through their stomach."
He almost fainted right then and there but managed to only instead make a funny choke noise that made Felix laugh. However things didn't really go through as Felix would've liked for his big brother. She did return around dinner time and Felix was the one to show her in and too the table which already had food set on it. Felix also made an effort to impress her by thinking of setting aside some generic pokemon food for her drizzlie which Felix gladly let Milo take all the credit and wasn't afraid to tell her so.
"Milo's really considerate. That's why everyone in Turrffield likes him so much! Oh wow. He even got your Pokemon some food too. Ain't he amazing?!"
Even when dinner was served and everyone was given the sweet apple curry Milo ended up making, Felix couldn't help but put his big brother in the spotlight.
"Did you know this entire dish is home made? And everything on this plate was hand grown right here in Turrffield?"
"Oh really?"
"Yeah! A lot of it's from our very own farm! Milo's REALLY great at providing things. And he's REALLY good at cooking."
Milo choked on an apple slice but Y/n only looked amused. "Oh really?"
"Uh huh! Any vegetarian curry you can think of! Bean medley curry, mushroom medley curry, plenty-of-potato curry, leek curry, apple curry, herb medley, salad curry, coconut curry- But his absolute BEST is tropical curry! He can make it taste so sweet that it's practically a desert! He memorized the recipe because it's my favorite. Did I mention how selfless and kind he was?"
Milo ended up tilting his hat down to hide how red faced he was. He did try to stop him, really he did but his throat felt so tight that all he could do was make a sound like he was dying but managed to save any embarrassment by covering it up with a cough.  Although that still didn't stop Felix was talking Milo up to you. You thought it was absolutely adorable and knew EXACTLY what was going on. While you did feel a bit bad for how embarrassed Milo was, you couldn't help but be amused by how much Felix was trying to obviously Wingman for his big brother.
"Did I mention he's strong?! Milo can push up to seven hundred and seventy pounds easily! That's like almost eight hundred pounds! And did I mention that not only is he a gym leader but he owns his own land and makes a lot of money from both farming and the pokemon league? I don't like to brag, but Milo's also in charge of the entire town of Turrffield. He might as well just own everything here. He also knows how to grow his own food... Did I already mention he was a great provider?!"
"...Felix..." Both of you looked up as Milo did not dare remove his hat but slightly pointed at him and spoke in a voice barely over a whisper. "I think it's time f-for bed..."
"Wha- But I didn't get to tell her about the time you saved a little kid from a charging mudsdale! Did I mention he's heroic and kind and always helps others?!"
You giggled and nodded. "Yes, but it is getting late. I think I'll go to sleep now if that's alright."
"Oh sure! The guest room is right upstairs. You can't miss it since it's the only one that has a white door. I can show you if you want! Milo even fixed it up for you! Isn't he considerate?"
"It's alright." You tried and failed not to giggle as you stood up. "Thank you for the food, Milo. It really was good. Good night."
Milo could only give a small hum from under his hat as you left, and Felix didn't speak again until he heard the guest room door upstairs close behind you. "I think that went well! She kept smiling and laughing!"
Milo's forehead met the table in embarrassment.
He guessed he should've felt relief when he woke up the next day and found out she had already left before he could apologize and offer to make her breakfast before she left, even if he did feel a bit hurt at her gone. But he understood. Postwick was a long ways away, even by train or taxi it would take a bit to get back. So it would be good to get a head start. However he would see her again but not until later when there was a disturbance at his gym. The entire small community of Turrffield was literally shaken awake  by a random dynamaxed pokemon that just happened to cut into a scheduled exhibition match between himself and Piers. They both had fled but not before making sure everyone had evacuated safely. However he wasn't expecting for two other people to show up-
"Hey! Mr. Milo!"
They both turned around and Piers spoke. "Hm? You're-..." He stopped. Blue eyes raising a surprised brow.
Milo however was just confused turning to the two of you just as you and Victor stopped in front of them, then he turned surprised, and held up his hands. "H-Hey! I'm sorry but you two can't be here right now. We're in a bit of an emergency we have to take care of."
"Hey, Hot Pink," you greeted Piers with a smile towards Piers who after a moment eventually sighed and shook his head.
Hah. How carefree can you be? There's an emergency goin' on 'ere and you're bargin' in here like ya own the place."
"Hey. We just got here actually...And what the heck is going on anyways?"
"I was actually in the middle of an exhibition match with Piers," Milo explained making you all look at him. "But then this dynamax pokemon came charging in out of no where. In was like a third party just dynamaxed a wild pokemon and sicked it on us in there. Very strange."
Both you and Victor looked at one another. Meanwhile Milo's thoughts were speeding through a mike a minute. Y/n?! Why was she here?! When did she get here?! Was there a connection to what had just happened?! Stop beating already heart!!
"The audience and staff already took shelter," Piers spoke making you look at him, "It was too dangerous to keep anyone in the stadium while that thing was rampagin'. Which begs the question why are the two of you 'ere? It's like every time there's trouble you're not far behind."
You went to go answer him and maybe ask if either of them had seen any trace of Hop, but before you could there was another shake followed by a loud cry that you both had heard on your way there but now being much closer it had everyone shaking and holding their arms out to avoid getting tripped up and falling to the ground before it stopped again with you all wobbling but standing thankfully. WHAT. WAS. THAT!? Was that the dynamax pokemon they mentioned before? Must've been. What else could've made that noise and rumble? You couldn't ask them anything yet before the door in front of the gym leaders opened and someone stepped out in front of them.
"I got everyone who was seated on the north side of the stadium evacuated!," a familiar voice panted out, making you two look up, "You must've heard right? More dynamax pokemon are running amok!"
"Much obliged, Hop!," Milo thanked the boy in front of him, "I'd expect nothing left from a gym challenger. I knew we could count on you!"
"I lost in the semifinals though-"
"HOP!!" Milo yelped as he was shoved aside and you pushed past him in order to see Hop. And sure enough he was right there. Startling he had jumped back from you shoving your way in front of him and he blinked.
"Ah! ....Y/n? ACK!"
You grabbed him by the shoulders. "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!? Don't you realize how dangerous that was chasing after thieves by yourself!? I thought we were done doing that after the Hammerlocke fiasco! You had us scared half to freaking death!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!," he apologized holding up his hands with a wince, "I just-...I couldn't let them get away with the stolen shield!"
.....You sighed. "It's...ok. But you are NOT doing that again! We don't know what those guys are capable of. Promise?" He nodded and you sighed again letting your hands lift from his shoulder. "Good." Thank Arceus he was ok. That was the most important part. "What are you even doing here?"
"I chased those red and blue guys and saw them head into Turffield Stadium," Hop explained to you still with that apologetic face, "The I heard the uproar and there was no way I could leave it alone! I had to help out.'' He did that family move of rubbing the back of his neck. "So..er...Sorry. I lost sight of them in all the rush."
Those guys with the crazy hair were here? What the world were they doing here?
Milo hummed with a frown. "Those suspicious characters you saw are concerning. But for now, I think we should get this dynamax pokemon to settle down first." He then turned to Victor who blinked. "I'd be glad for your help against a tough looking opponent though. You mind lending a hand?" Victor who seemed surprised ...but nodded. "Alright! Then let's head to the pitch!"
"I'll lend a hand too," Piers jabbed in, "I don't blame the pokemon 'f course, but I'm still just a bit miffed they upstaged me." He then paused before looking over at Hop who blinked at him. "You come too, Bro Of The Champion."
He blinked. "Huh? Who me?" He pointed at himself and Piers nodded. He immediately gave a face and held up his hands. "I don't know how much I can really help. ...If I come along.." He slowly lowered his hands looking down. "I might just end up slowing the rest of you down."
"Aren't ya the one who beat me in one single go?"
Hop blinked looking back up at Piers and you looked at him too a bit confused. "Uh...What?"
Hop blinked looking back up at Piers and you looked at him too a bit confused. "Uh...What?"
"I said...Didn't ya beat me back in the gym challenge in one try?" ..Confused Hop nodded. "An' ya were one of the only three trainers good enough to get into the semifinals in the first place and defeat multiple gym leaders. Right?" Hop nodded again and Piers hummed. "Hm. I'd say that makes you pretty capable o' bein' in battle. I don't really know the guy, but I don't think Leon'd be all lost about this. Though he does actually get lost a lot..." You and Hop both stared wide eyed at the rockstar because...Did Piers literally just compliment Hop over Leon's experience in this?? He turned giving a gesture to the door you assumed lead into the stadium. "You comin'?"
"Uh.....OK!" Hop smiled a little agreeing.
"Right!," You agreed with a nod. You guys had to calm down that pokemon by the looks of it. "Let's get this show on the road."
"Y/n? Are ya sure?" You turned to Victor who gave a worried face. You guessed your confusion must've shown because he pointed at you. "Ye said you've never been in a battle before. Dontcha think this..I dunno...Might be a bad idea to do as you're first experience battlin'?"
Milo paused...and slowly looked to you as you shook your head at Victor. "Well..maybe not but Silver has battle experience from you guys borrowing him all those times. I'm sure if I just give him a few basic directions he can improvise the rest. What choice do we have?"
"You can just let us take care o' it. M' sure between us and the gym leaders, we'll bring that pokemon down faster than Milo's wooloo bowlin' ya over."
You frowned a little bit at the memory of that before saying. "Victor, I'll be fine. I'm going to help-"
"Oh no you're not!" You practically jumped whirling around and coming face to face with Milo who frowned. "That's putting your pokemon in danger if you're seriously under-experienced and a good way to get hurt!" he shook his head. "And you haven't been in a battle before? NO. No, no! This!" His hands came up to gesture between you and the door. "Is not happening. Too many risks."
You scowled back at him hands on your hips. "I'm tired of standing on the sidelines while everyone else does all the hard work around here! I want to HELP!"
"You can help by standing here and keeping watch?," Victor suggested.
"Yeah! If those weird haired guys are still around, we'll need someone to keep a look out for them just in case they try to slip away when we're not looking!," Hop piped up happily.
Milo pointed at him like he agreed. "That's smart thinking! Problem solved! You're not going in there!" He gestured at you almost annoyed. "You already got run over twice on my watch. I'm not going to allow you to be hurt again with something that's my responsibility."
You deepened your frown. "You can't tell me what to do! If you want me to stay here then you can make me!"
Piers, Victor, and Hop all looked at one another. Milo blinked CLEARLY taken aback at what you said eyes widening. "W-What?"
"I said if you don't want me in there you'll have to make me!"
Milo and you stared at one another for a long moment..before sighed  "Alright but I didn't want to have to do this." And he suddenly leaned down which confused you.
"What are you- EEEEEEKKK!?"
A girly high pitched squeal left you as all of a sudden two arms wrapped around your middle body, one around your lower back and the other around the back of your legs. In one hard pull, you fell forward and your body fell against another person's shoulder and back and you went up, up, up! And you found yourself in the embarrassing situation of having been literally thrown over Milo's shoulder by Milo himself. He easily lifted your entire weight as he stood up and held you firmly enough to keep you from fighting back before he began walking off towards one of the couches Milo following behind.
"MILO?," you shouted voice nearly cracking. Your face EXPLODED RED from the sheer embarrassment of it all. Your hands flew to grab the back of his shirt to help keep balance as you shouted. "P-PUT ME DOWN!! IM PRETTY SURE YOU CAN'T DO THIS!!"
"You said to make you and I am. I don't think I want to see you hurt again if I can prevent it,'' he replied back calmly much to your annoyance.
"What do you mean!? I have to help protect them!"
"I'll make sure they're both fine. YOU just need to take it easy for a bit."
Wha- OOF!" You stopped when you were suddenly leaned forward and harmlessly dropped back down onto the couch staring at him as he leaned back up to his usual height as he still looked down at you completely still calm.
"PLEASE." He held up his hands. "Stay here. I seriously don't want to see you hurt anymore, and frankly...I'm going to prevent anyone from getting' hurt. You need ta stay here and stay safe." You opened your mouth but stopped when he gently grabbed your shoulder. "I'm not letting' anyone get hurt.Especially you."
You sat there silent for a moment before he felt confident enough you wouldn't follow them stunned before Milo spoke.
"Don't worry," you looked at him as he assured you, "Piers might look scary, but he's great at looking after others. He's a big brother after all. And to be fair it would be probably safer for you in you stayed here too. I promise it won't take too long."....You sighed leaning back into your seat at his response. "Alright. We should get going too. I'll bring those kids back to you as soon as the battle's over. Ok?"
...Thanks, Mr. Milo. Appreciate it."
He smiled at you before turning and you watched them all go into the stadium after Piers one after the other before the door closed behind them...and you flopped back against the couch. MAN. All you wanted to do was help but-.....Sigh. But Piers made some good points. You never battled before outside video games and you had no experience on the battle field yourself. You couldn't risk making a mistake like that. So...You must sat there with Silver who hoped onto the couch next to you and just flopped onto his side exhausted from walking around so much. You just wished you could help out more. You sat there hearing the ensuing battling taking place and clinging to the couch every time the stadium shook from the battle which carried on for a good ten to fifthteen minutes as you waited with baited breath. No one really came in or out during that time anyways which might've been a blessing as you didn't want to really deal with anyone else at the moment. With one last final shake and cry it all ended. You waited for a couple moments waiting for some kind of response but none came. The only thing that came after a minute or two was the door opening and the boys all filing out. You immediately stood up and jogged on over to them as they came out. THANK ARCEUS THE BOYS WERE ALRIGHT! The only thing that looked off about then was Victor rubbing some dirt from his hat.
"Are you guys ok?," you shouted coming to a stop right in front of them all.
Hop nodded. "Yeah! Even with the four of us that battle was hard to win. Good thing we managed to beat that pokemon huh?"
You opened your mouth to say something before Milo walked up with something next to him. "Phew....Looks like things have finally calmed down a bit." He smiled with a Tsareena next to him who made a noise.
Piers next to him sighed and shook his head. "This dynamax stuff...No matter how many times I see it I don't like it."
"I see your dislike of dynamaxing still hasn't changed, Piers. "...The grass type gym leader turned back to the pokemon with a hum. "But there was definitely something off about that dynamax transformation."
Off? How could a dynamaxing giant pokemon be off- "There wasn't any trainer anywhere!" You turned to Hop. "And the pokemon itself seemed like it couldn't even control the power itself."
Milo nodded at him. "Quite right, Hop."
You looked at him confused. "..Huh? Do you wanna fill me in on what I missed?"
"Normally a pokemon needs to respond to a dynamax band in order to dynamax but-"
Seems there was some discord in the harmony between trainer and pokemon."
"So you noticed something was off too," Milo confirmed with Piers before shaking his head and looking back to the tsareea, "There's no trainer to be found. This is a mystery wrapped up in an enigma." He shook his head again. "Oh well. I'll make sure Turffield Gym takes good care of this pokemon for the time being. You lot helped me out here. Thanks for that. Oh! And Piers." The rocker hummed at him. "If you should ever need my help feel free to call me anytime!" Piers nodded back to him and Milo took a moment to look at Victor before reaching into his pocket and pulling out something to hold out to him. "Here. A small token of my thanks." Victor blinked before he accepted it from Milo with a smile and thanks from himself. "No need to thank me. ..I think in the meantime I should take this little tsareena over to the pokemon center in case something's still wrong with it."
Piers nodded at him again. "That's probably for the best. Wouldn't want the lil thing too banged up from us givin' it that thrashing."
Milo smiled at him before turning to all of you. "Excuse me. I gotta get going. All right then. Follow me little Tsareena." And politely side stepped around your group to walk back out towards the door leading out of the gym. The pokemon following behind matching Milo's orders. Although he did stop and looked back to you which made you blink."And M-M-Miss Y/n.....I-.." He looked as if he wanted to confess something but stopped himself last minute. "Ijustwantedtosaysorryokbye!!"
He quickly mumbled before turning on his heel and speed walking away pulling his hat over his face confusing everyone there before Victor looked at Hop. "What the bloody heck was that about?"
"Oh I think I know."
He wasn't surprised that you all were gone by the time he came back. Even Piers was but oh well. Things happened and he'd reschedule another match with Piers later. Time passed, the tsareena was later released back into the wild safely and everything returned back to normal for the most part. However a month or two later would throw him for a loop. Felix had come up to him one day to deliver some strange but not too surprising news.
"Hey. You remember Old Man Jenkins? He's finally sold his house."
Milo had looked up from the potatoes he was pulling up to look at him. "Oh really? That's great!"
"The new neighbor just moved in! I think we should go say hi considering they're so close to us. That way they won't be so mad if your wooloo crashes into their property."
Milo huffed but that wasn't a too bad idea. "That sounds like the kind thing to do. Alright. First thing tomorrow morning we'll go over and say hi!"
So that's exactly what they did. First thing the next day the two brothers, armed with a giant gift basket of fruits, veggies, and baked goods walked right up to the house and knocked right on the door. However when footsteps approached. When the door opened. When a face smiled at them. He nearly dropped the basket in shock

Monday, Third Week of Eastertide
(Liturgical Colour: White: A(1))
First Reading Acts of the Apostles 6:8-15 They could not get the better of Stephen because the Spirit prompted what he said.
Stephen was filled with grace and power and began to work miracles and great signs among the people. But then certain people came forward to debate with Stephen, some from Cyrene and Alexandria who were members of the synagogue called the Synagogue of Freedmen, and others from Cilicia and Asia. They found they could not get the better of him because of his wisdom, and because it was the Spirit that prompted what he said. So they procured some men to say, ‘We heard him using blasphemous language against Moses and against God.’ Having in this way turned the people against him as well as the elders and scribes, they took Stephen by surprise, and arrested him and brought him before the Sanhedrin. There they put up false witnesses to say, ‘This man is always making speeches against this Holy Place and the Law. We have heard him say that Jesus the Nazarene is going to destroy this Place and alter the traditions that Moses handed down to us.’ The members of the Sanhedrin all looked intently at Stephen, and his face appeared to them like the face of an angel.

Or: Matthew 4:4
Alleluia, alleluia! Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Alleluia!
Gospel John 6:22-29 Do not work for food that cannot last, but for food that endures to eternal life.
After Jesus had fed the five thousand, his disciples saw him walking on the water. Next day, the crowd that had stayed on the other side saw that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not got into the boat with his disciples, but that the disciples had set off by themselves. Other boats, however, had put in from Tiberias, near the place where the bread had been eaten. When the people saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into those boats and crossed to Capernaum to look for Jesus. When they found him on the other side, they said to him, ‘Rabbi, when did you come here?’ Jesus answered:
‘I tell you most solemnly, you are not looking for me because you have seen the signs but because you had all the bread you wanted to eat. Do not work for food that cannot last, but work for food that endures to eternal life, the kind of food the Son of Man is offering you, for on him the Father, God himself, has set his seal.’
Then they said to him, ‘What must we do if we are to do the works that God wants?’ Jesus gave them this answer, ‘This is working for God: you must believe in the one he has sent.’

(Readings for the memorial)
(There is a choice today between the readings for the ferial day (Monday) and those for the memorial. The ferial readings are recommended unless pastoral reasons suggest otherwise)
First Reading Colossians 1:24-29 I became the servant of the Church.
It makes me happy to suffer for you, as I am suffering now, and in my own body to do what I can to make up all that has still to be undergone by Christ for the sake of his body, the Church. I became the servant of the Church when God made me responsible for delivering God’s message to you, the message which was a mystery hidden for generations and centuries and has now been revealed to his saints. It was God’s purpose to reveal it to them and to show all the rich glory of this mystery to pagans. The mystery is Christ among you, your hope of glory: this is the Christ we proclaim, this is the wisdom in which we thoroughly train everyone and instruct everyone, to make them all perfect in Christ. It is for this I struggle wearily on, helped only by his power driving me irresistibly.

Responsorial Psalm Psalm 33(34):2-9
R/ From all my terrors the Lord set me free.
I will bless the Lord at all times, his praise always on my lips; in the Lord my soul shall make its boast. The humble shall hear and be glad.
R/ From all my terrors the Lord set me free.
Glorify the Lord with me. Together let us praise his name. I sought the Lord and he answered me; from all my terrors he set me free.
R/ From all my terrors the Lord set me free.
Look towards him and be radiant; let your faces not be abashed. This poor man called, the Lord heard him and rescued him from all his distress.
R/ From all my terrors the Lord set me free.
The angel of the Lord is encamped around those who revere him, to rescue them. Taste and see that the Lord is good. He is happy who seeks refuge in him.
R/ From all my terrors the Lord set me free.
Gospel Acclamation John 13:34
Alleluia, alleluia! I give you a new commandment: love one another just as I have loved you, says the Lord. Alleluia!
Gospel John 17:20-26 Father, may they be completely one.
Jesus raised his eyes to heaven and said:
‘Holy Father, I pray not only for these, but for those also who through their words will believe in me. May they all be one. Father, may they be one in us, as you are in me and I am in you, so that the world may believe it was you who sent me. I have given them the glory you gave to me, that they may be one as we are one. With me in them and you in me, may they be so completely one that the world will realise that it was you who sent me and that I have loved them as much as you loved me. Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they may always see the glory you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Father, Righteous One, the world has not known you, but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me. I have made your name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and so that I may be in them.’

If y’all have never hit up a restore you totally should. I got a bunch of shit for my garden for super cheap. Tools, home improvement stuff, they have it all. It’s like thrifting for Home Depot lesbians. Not sponsored, just great if you’re broke like I am and doing building stuff.
On another note, I got a bunch more planted today! I got my tomatoes, peppers, Asclepias (milkweed of some decorative type) herbs, and some other stuff in! I forgot to take pictures so I’ll take more tomorrow when I go water. I got a hole digger (one that you twist and it digs a hole for you) from the aforementioned restore and it made it 10000000% easier. Still gave myself a blister but totally worth it.
I will go through and give a full tour of what I’m growing when I have things a little bit more established, so be prepared for that!
Interestingly enough, I found a glass bottle on the ground, just totally random. I put it on a stake, they say bottles on trees can trap spirits so hey, maybe a bottle on a bamboo stake they used to mark the garden plots will do something similar.
I’ll leave you with some of the garden magic ideas I’ve had.
-Paint/otherwise mark protective symbols on a rock and put it in the garden. I bought a big flat stone from lowes and I plan to make it into a little offering space.
-Sing to your plants! They like it. There’s not evidence to back it up but I think they enjoy it. Funny note, I once asked my greenhouse professor about plants and music and he said the only thing they’ve found so far is the bassline shaking the plants can help them develop stronger stems. Fans do the same thing though so 🤷
-place wind chimes around your garden for the good vibes. I’m sure there’s other things windchimes do too! Perhaps a future post idea.
-my mom taught me to plant marigolds around the edge of the garden to keep critters away. I’m not sure how well this actually works but it’s pretty. This can double as protective magic, or you can focus on a correspondence of marigolds. I’ll probably do a post on this when I actually have marigolds planted.
That’s all for now! I hope you all have a great day!

God Is Awesome: Take Off Your Shoes
Today's inspiration comes from:
Closer Than Your Next Breath
by Susie Larson
"When we see Jesus as Commander of the army of the Lord, [it is our job] to fall on our faces before Him and worship — that is, to confess the self-will, self-effort, and self-glory that have dominated us and deeply surrender to Him as our Commander, and be willing for Him to make the decisions, give the orders, and be the doer of the work... We cannot be too low at His feet if He is to cause the walls of our Jericho to fall. He will have no difficulty with those walls if He can get us to fall first." ~ Roy Hession
"'During my college years, I didn’t have a lot of spiritual support on my faith journey. I wandered into the ways of the world and then back toward the heart of God again. One morning in my dorm room, I repented and cried out to God. I spent time in His Word and sensed His great love for me. Joy returned to my soul. I went to class unaware of what God was about to do that day. For starters, I met a couple of classmates — identical twins. Dark hair. Bright countenances. And such sweet dispositions. I noticed they kept looking my way during class. I smiled, gave them a nod, and returned my attention to our instructor.
Right in the middle of the lecture, one of the sisters leaned over and said, “There’s something different about you. You have so much joy. Will you tell us why you have joy?”
I whispered back, “I’d love to talk with you more. Let’s meet after class.” I followed these girls to their dorm room and told them about Jesus. Their hearts were so tender and receptive that they were instantly in awe of God. One of them got up abruptly and said, “Be right back!”
Within minutes, she grabbed a few friends and dragged them back into our conversation. I introduced my new friends to Jesus, and they wholeheartedly accepted Him. Over the next few weeks we hosted more gatherings with the girls on their dorm floor. They asked questions, and I did my best to answer them. Their hunger for God activated a faith that I’d almost neglected.
One day while crammed in a van with a bunch of other college students on our way home for the weekend, I curled up with a book by Watchman Nee. I don’t recall the title, but I do remember what happened. I went from being half involved with the surrounding conversations and partially attuned to what I was reading to suddenly focusing on the words on the page. At that moment I had an encounter with God unlike anything I’d ever experienced up to that point. His Spirit drew near, and I could not hide from Him. Like a movie reel, I saw my life’s story unwind before me. I saw my life in fast motion, one deed after another, and the motivations that fueled my actions.
A consistent theme ran throughout my life. Everything I’d done — good, bad, and otherwise — was to rescue my sense of self-worth. Most of my good deeds were to prove myself. Most sinful indulgences were to escape from myself.
Though God can and did redeem every aspect of my story, all my strivings were wasted efforts.
I’d misused my time, treasure, and talents to prove something that Jesus had already done, had already won. I didn’t know any better then. But I did now. In that van I came face-to-face with the truth about my depravity and the power of God’s holy standard for me. There’d be no dabbling in this walk of faith. God was not one to be trifled with. He wasn’t messing around. I couldn’t escape Him.
I gasped. I trembled. I covered my mouth with my hands, and tears escaped my eyes.
Friends asked if I was okay, and I could only shake my head. I couldn’t speak. I dared not justify my ways. I was guilty of selfish, self-preserving efforts. Though I had reason to be painfully insecure, I learned that insecurity is just another form of selfishness. Self-preservation and Kingdom life are entirely incompatible.
When we recall and rehearse God’s faithfulness in the past, we more clearly discern His goodness in the present.
To live out of a lie is to perpetuate more lies. God had drawn near. I felt no condemnation, but I was absolutely undone with conviction. To place the reel of my life up against the backdrop of God’s majesty and holiness left me breathless. I was a believer at this point, yet for some reason I was still trying to save myself. I didn’t understand the potent power of the gospel. My efforts were worthless. My God was holy. If I could have gone facedown in the van, I would have. For the next three days I barely said a word. I didn’t want to interrupt the cleansing fire of the Holy Spirit at work in me.
Looking back over the years that I’ve followed the Messiah, I can now see how intimately He’s been involved in my life.
Even during those seasons when God seemed silent and life was just a daily grind, Jesus led, interceded, guarded, and guided my way — all while I was unaware.
He put the right people in my path at just the right time. He prompted me to turn right when I would have turned left. He nudged me to make a phone call when I was headed for the ditch of despair. He introduced a new friend when I needed a fresh perspective. He played a song that inspired faith in the middle of my doubts. He put dreams in my heart and dared me to agree with Him. He gave me insight into intercession and invited me to join Him. He gave me opportunities to forgive, trust, and release my cares to Him, knowing how these processes would transform me and tether my heart to His.
Ever and always, God allows enough challenges to keep us dependent, enough goodness to keep us encouraged, and enough grace to sustain us.
Though I lived through plenty of seasons with a broken heart, wishing things were different than they were, I never lacked any of what I needed. God has always been faithful, always guided, always provided.
Life on earth is hard. But we serve an awesome God.
I don’t want to miss Him because I can’t always sense His nearness. Our lives burst with evidence that God is at work in our story. He charged the Israelites not to forget about His faithfulness.
When we forget, we wander. When we recall and rehearse God’s faithfulness in the past, we more clearly discern His goodness in the present.
Remembering is stewardship. Recalling is wisdom. Rehearsing is nourishment for our souls.
And I said, “This is my fate; the Most High has turned his hand against me.” But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works. O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you? You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.1
It’s good for our hearts to go back and recall the times when God invaded our everyday existence with tangible expressions of His love and power. Times when He allowed us a peek into the eternal realm in a way that totally shifted our perspective and deepened our assurance that God was near, God cared, and God was moving in our midst.
We are all messed up like a person compromised with impurity;
even all our right efforts are like soiled rags. We’re drying up like a leaf in autumn and are blown away by wrongdoing. — Isaiah 64:6 The Voice
Such moments in my life have left me speechless with awe and wonder. After walking with God for decades, I know this to be true: He’s more present than I can comprehend and more powerful than I ever imagined.
Spending time this morning pondering my history with God reminds me that my present bursts with His power and my future is bright with hope.
I encourage you to take a trip down memory lane as well. It’ll do wonders for your soul.
Psalm 77:10–14."''

2022
Finally (finally) getting to my annual year recap. Between this one and last year I’ve been slacking and not getting to them until damn near halfway through the year. But like I said before, better late than never.
So this year was very interesting. Very interesting. What could’ve been the worst year of my life actually turned into one of my favorite years in recent memories, second to 2015. I think the main contributing factors to that was that I was pushed very hard to do and try new things. As well as foster and build a stronger relationship with my inner circle of friends - all of whom helped me get through what otherwise would’ve been an extremely challenging year with out them. So to start, in January I caught COVID. It was absolutely awful in the sense that I had the most bizarre side effects from the virus. I remember being like oh god, this is awful. It lasted about a week. Thankfully, nothing too severe happened as a result and I got over my symptoms in a decent amount of time.
Shortly after I recovered from COVID, my mom had passed away from the very same thing. She had a lot of health issues that were probably exacerbated by the virus. I’ll never forget that morning I woke up from a text from her, drove to her place frantically, the the ER, and then having the news delivered to me by the doctor. It was such an out of body feeling. My worst fears had came true and I realized then that from then on out the only person that’s going to look out for me is me. I was officially alone. Mentally, I had prepared myself for this day for a while because I knew it was inevitable. But it still hurt a lot. Healing from such a thing isn’t easy and is never in a perfect straight line. You’ll have days where you’re fine and days where you’re not. Sometimes you’ll be triggered by the smallest thing that takes you back to a memory and you’ll start to cry. With all this being said, I found what helped me the most ultimately was having a good support system. In my case, that was my friends.
After that and dealing with cleaning out her apartment, stopping all of her services to the apartment, and the funeral, I was in a weird space. It’s almost like something was set off in my body and spirit that told me to make the most of this year and try to form as many memories as you can. And I did.
I did a lot of traveling, spent a lot of good quality time with friends, and made some good memories. I traveled to Chicago/Boystown for the first time which I absolutely loved, went to Wisconsin, went to Mexico again for the second year in a row, experienced the Indy500 for the first time, was the man of honor (maid of honor) for one of my good friend’s weddings and gave a speech in front of 100+ people, went to New Orleans for the bachelorette party, wine tastings, Halloween parties, fun late nights in the summer riding scooters, pedal bars, Lollapalooza, picked up a new hobby of roller skating… there’s just so much. I was pushed outside of my box by myself and my friends and made so many great memories that truly filled the void that was there from grief. Of course it wasn’t complete smooth sailing but my close circle made me feel loved and appreciated. I grew closer to so many people and those relationships and memories are ones that I won’t forget. If it weren’t for them my depression probably would’ve taken away so much of me. I’m proud of myself for my resilience and willingness to be positive despite the hard time I was enduring.
2022 was in the top 2 favorite years. It was just fucking amazing. My main goal moving forward into the new year is to keep that momentum going. 💛

Zhan-Min's Elemental Brews
Tumblr media
Zhan Min is a shaman who uses the elements for beer making as much as combat. By imbuing elemental energies into the keg-maces he uses as weapons, filled with hops and barely and other such ingredients, he creates unique brews that are not only flavorful and strong, but actually magical in nature!
Some of his more successful flavors are as follows:
Earthshaker Stout
A deep brown liquor with a lot of foam, bottles of it seem to tremble slightly every so often.
"One of my earlier experiments, imbuing my brew with the ol' Rockbiter trick. Earthshaker is right though, a few swigs of this and you'd swear you're in an earthquake with how hard it is to stand up! Though once the dizziness fades I find that I'm a lot sturdier than before. My tummy is iron normally, but after a mug of this its solid steel! Come at me and see what I mean!"
Flamebreath Ale
A reddish liquid that seems to glow, bottles are always warm to the touch, even if left packed in snow.
"Fire went into this one, if the name wasn't a hint. Its a spicy thing, tastes like cloves and peppers, and it'll burn your throat a bit going down, but it warms you right up! I could dance naked in Northrend after a mug of this... actually, I may have... I dunno, hard to remember my early experiments with this one. Come to think of it that whole week is kind of a blur until I woke up near Xuen's temple with a bucket on my head. Either way, it puts a literal fire in my belly. Cold and ice don't do squat to me after a drink of this!"
Hurricane Brew
A clear liquid with a bluish tint, the drink seems to always swirl around in a bottle or cup, even if left sitting for several minutes.
"Whoof! Knocks you right over on the first drink, but you'll be a dynamo on this one! It'll fill you full of electricity and leave you wired for a week! More like a really strong coffee than a beer, like REALLY strong, you'll be climbing the walls like a mad hozen on this stuff. I couldn't sleep for two days! Still, its great when you need a lot of energy in one go, but not so good for getting a buzz otherwise."
Icemist Reserve
A deep cerulean with lines of white mixed through it, almost like snow suspended in the ale. It mists slightly when exposed to air.
"After I worked out my Flamebreath recipe I wanted to do the opposite, a drink so cool and refreshing that it was like a mouthful of snow! Icemist seems to do the trick. It'll chill you down to the bone but has a great minty aftertaste and is great if you just got the ol' hozen 'grook the dooker' treatment. Numbs you all over, so any bruises and such hurt a lot less... actually sell this stuff to the Stormwind military as painkillers."
Spirits with Spirit?
"Ehhh, still workin' on that one actually. I nailed the four big elements, but Spirit... well, its hard to nail that one down. I've tried a few tricks, but so far no luck. Still, gives me something to work towards eh?"
Xuen's Fangs
Stored in small quantities only in a wooden flask (wood is non-conductive.) Sometimes the flask will shake and an audible roll of thunder can be heard from inside it.
"Oof... I really don't like talkin' bout this one ya'll. That one wound up going bad inna really really REALLY big way." "Basically... I got a tiiiiiiiiiny bit overconfident in my talents 'n decided to try something really special. I was there when us adventurers took down Raszageth 'n I managed to snag a few o' th' girl's scales! Tried one in a brew but th' drink it made was the most potent booze I'd ever SEEN! I was actually freakin' afraid to taste it!"
"... soooooo I gave it to Jaie. Told 'er ta only take a sip at most, but... things got outta hand. That bitch Dissonantia showed up 'n Jaie got caught by her 'n Ed's imp tried to help her by giving her th' drink fer a power boost... 'cept the dopey varmint poured th' whole dang bottle down her throat!"
"... damn near killed th' poor girl. Sekhi 'n I were able to put it right, channeled all th' lightning in her back up inta th' sky. I still got a few o' th' scales... but they seem less potent now. Sekhi seemed ta think we actually freed Raszageth's spirit somehow, but... I dunno. Imma hold onto 'em if only 'cause I'm afraid o' what someone else might do if they get their mitts on 'em!"

Paper Rings
Pairing: James Potter x Reader
Summary: On his first ride to Hogwarts, James befriended the girl who was obsessed with shiny things. Over their schooling together, their friendship turned into so much more.
A/N: lmao I suck at summaries. Also I’m back sorry for the random hiatus (and sorry that posting will almost definitely not be consistent after this either). I had this idea months ago, inspired by Taylor Swift’s Paper Rings, and I only just got around to writing it asdfghjkl. Still obsessed with James though rip me I just want someone to love me like this.
Warnings: Mentions of eating (briefly), otherwise just a lot of fluff.
Wordcount: 4k (wow)
...
Little James Potter waved goodbye to his parents as the train took off from the platform, nervous about his first journey to the infamous Hogwarts, but excited to discover all the great things his parents had told him for himself. First though: finding a carriage.
Trying not to show his nerves, he wandered along the corridor, peeping into the carriages to see if there was one he could join. For the most part, he found them all too full, too loud to juggle his nerves, or the students too old and intimidating. The days would come where James would rule the corridors of the castle, but the eleven year old boy on the train was just hoping to make a friend he could share this new adventure with.
As fate would have it, he found just that and so much more. In a carriage to herself sat a young girl, his age, her face turned away from him looking out the window. The only thing he could see was a petite sparkling bow, sitting neatly in her (y/h/c) hair.
Without thinking about it, he knocked gently on the compartment door, sliding it open as she turned to look at him inquisitively. Her (y/e/c) eye’s glittered as her lips pulled into a smile, creating a complete sense of comfort for James to ask. “Do you mind if I sit?” She nodded eagerly, gathering up a few books she had dumped on the opposite seat and dropping them into her lap. “I’m James.” He smiled.
“(y/n). It’s nice to meet you.”
They sat in a comfortable silence for a short while, listening to the laughs of older students, friends reuniting after a summer apart, and watching the landscape whip by them out the window.
“I like your bow, by the way.” James spoke up, feeling glad he did when an excited smile broke across her face, looking as if he’d told her she’d won the lottery.
“Thank you! I love the way it sparkles.” She said, gently pulling it from her hair and twisting it in the sunlight, showing how rainbows danced in the glitter and were thrown across their compartment. Satisfied, she used it to clip back the hair that was now falling into her face, and their conversation moved on, following each and every thought they were having, becoming fast friends. James didn’t think the journey could get any better until two boys showed up at their door and asked if they could join them, setting everlasting friendships in stone.
As the train pulled up to Hogwarts, any nervousness James had been feeling was gone. Instead, the only thought he had was that he couldn’t be more glad he sat in the compartment of the girl with the sparkling bow.
Their first year passed in a blur, and the Marauders spent the majority of it in each other’s company, laughing their days away.
Now, summer had come and gone, and their second year at Hogwarts was in full swing. They walked into their charms class together, laughing about a joke Sirius had made at James’ expense. (y/n) sat next to the curly-haired boy at their desk, as Remus Sirius and Peter sat at the one adjacent to them.
“Hey, it’s not my fault I didn’t make the team last year! No first year has made a house team in like 80 years! I’m telling you though, I’ll make it on this year, and I’ll be the best chaser this school has ever seen.” James protested, huffing as he put his textbook in the middle of the table for him and (y/n) to share. She laughed at him softly, hand patting his shoulder as the other boys got lost in their own conversation.
“I know you will, Jamie. And I’ll be there cheering you on every step of the way.” His cheeks redenned at her words, but luckily their attention was turned away by Professor Flitwick.
“Now students, the charm I’ll be teaching you today is more of a fun one to start off the year than anything you’ll likely need in your everyday lives. As always, I don’t expect you to create chaos by using these charms” – he turned his gaze to a particular group of students at this point who were all busily looking elsewhere – “but simply to enlighten yourselves and to show you what magic can do. So, the charm we’ll be learning today is how to make things glitter.”
James heard an almost inaudible gasp next to him, and he could feel the excitement radiating off (y/n). He chuckled, expecting nothing less; he’d known her for a year now, and if it wasn’t the bow in her hair there was always something shiny on her at any given time.
Flitwick talked about the details of the charm, how it could be applied subtly, only giving a faint sheen, or how it could be made much more obvious. Finally, he gave them the charm and told everyone to repeat after him. “Now, like I said, just because this is a fun charm doesn’t mean it’s an easy one, and I don’t expect you to get it on your first attempt. Just keep repeating the charm and-oh!” He broke off suddenly, just as James’ vision went hazy. Once he’d focused, he saw he was surrounded by a cloud of individual glitter specs floating around them, almost as if they were in their own galaxy. His gaze shifted to its centre, shining most brilliantly of all as her proud and excited smile dazzled him, making him forget entirely they were still in their charms classroom.
“Well done Miss (y/n)!” Flitwick’s voice broke through their bubble, and slowly each star seemed to fade out of existence, until they were back in their regular old classroom, thirty pairs of eyes trained on them. “You certainly felt the spirit of the charm and went above and beyond. 10 points to (y/h). Now, if you could help Mr Potter whilst we all get back to it!”
Chatter burst out the classroom almost immediately, partners working together trying to enchant an object of theirs to take on the glittery effect. Sirius turned to her, rolling his eyes half-heartedly.
“Becoming a teachers pet now are we, (y/l/n)?” She rolled her eyes back, waving her wand to produce a cloud of glitter that settled in Sirius’ hair, contrasting sharply against its darkness.
“It’s sparklesSirius, what did you expect? Now c’mon, this is the one lesson I won’t let you not do the work in. Make some glittery greatness and I’ll bake you all some cookies when I next steal James’ cloak to go to the kitchens.” With those words, the three boys turned their entire focus to the task at hand, while James still seemed slightly awestruck next to her. “You alright, J?”
“That was amazing (y/n/n). I had no idea you could do that.”
“Well I guess you can’t know until you try.” She shrugged, picking up her quill and placing it in front of him. “Charm my quill.”
“Why me? You could just do it yourself.” James asked, confused why she didn’t do it herself since she was clearly more than capable. Once again, she shrugged, looking into his eyes as she uttered the words so nonchalantly that would stick with him for years to come.
“Well, Flitwick said you needed to practise. Plus, it’ll mean more to me if every time I look at my quill I know that you’re the reason it’s shining.”
Within a heartbeat, James had uttered the incantation and a subtle shimmer had settled over the feather, imperceptible until it was moved and caught the light. The smile he saw when he looked over at (y/n) made him vow to himself that as long as he was around, she would never have an ordinary quill again.
True to his word, every time she brought out a new quill, he was quick to snatch it from her and place the simple charm on it. It became an unspoken promise between the two of them, and every time James saw that sparkle from the corner of his eye, he couldn’t help but smile to himself.
. . .
True to her word, (y/n) was there for all of James’ games, cheering him on from the side of the pitch, always the first to reach him when the game was over. High or low, win or lose, she was always there to remind him that he had played amazingly, and that she was proud of him.
After one such game in their fourth year, Gryffindor narrowly losing to Slytherin, she was at his side so quickly that he would have thought she had apparated if he knew this wasn’t possible. She wrapped her arms around him and held him tightly, feeling the slight shaking of his shoulders. “Oh, James.” She quickly ushered him off the pitch before he attracted eyes, assuring him that Sirius and Remus would collect his things from the changing room and bring them back to his dorm. Once they reached his dorm, she sent him to shower, promising that she would be there for him once he was back.
Sure enough, he came out of the shower in fresh clothes and damp hair, and she was still on his bed, patiently waiting for him. She held her hand out to him, a silent invitation, and as soon as he took it she pulled him to her side and once again enveloped him in a hug.
“I’m so proud of you, Jamie.” She whispered, squeezing him momentarily before drawing back and looking into his glassy eyes.
“Shouldn’t be.” He murmured, avoiding her gaze. “We lost.”
“And yet you scored more goals than anyone else the entire game.” She pointed out, sincerity lacing her voice. “It’s just because the snitch is worth a stupid amount of points, honestly the game has a lot of flaws.” James smiled weakly, they often had these debates about Quidditch and it always ended in some silly way.
“I did hit Malfoy in the head with a Quaffle.” He admitted, and (y/n) could see the weight falling off his shoulders.
“The highlight of all our years.” She laughed, reaching into her pocket and pulling out a little box. “I got you something.” She handed it to him, and he pushed it back to her, head shaking, doubt returned.
“No I didn’t do anything to deserve it. Keep it.”
“We already had this argument and I’m not taking no for an answer.” She shoved the box into his hands and folded her arms across her chest, waiting for him to open it.
Reluctantly, he pulled the lid off the box to reveal a snitch, the snitch he normally kept on his person at all times, now shining with a slight iridescence. James looked up at her, thankful but a little confused at the present.
“I’ve actually been saving it for when you lose a game. Which has been hard because that’s hardly ever.” She broke off to give him a playful glare along with her words, quickly broken by her soft smile. “I know you play with the snitch when you have a lot on your mind, and when you start to doubt yourself. I wanted to remind you that you’re incredible and you should believe that yourself. So, when you see the snitch and you see it sparkle, you’ll think of me, and you’ll remember how great you are.” He was speechless, and in the silent air, she did what the two of them did best, and started to nervously babble. “Well, that’s assuming you think of me when you see sparkles, and quite frankly after all this time I’d be slightly offended if you didn’t-oof” her rambling stopped when James tackled her into a hug, knocking them both back onto the bed.
“Thank you.” Was all he said, but she could hear the emotion behind each word, everything he was trying to communicate. All she did was hold him tighter.
It was then that Sirius and Remus walked into the dorm, carrying all of James’ equipment from the game, causing James and (y/n) to jump away from each other. Blushes arose on both their faces, not that the other would have noticed, each too busy looking at opposite walls of the dorm. Sirius and Remus exchanged a knowing look, but decided to let it slide, knowing there was an inevitability to it anyway.
Once again, (y/n) was boarding the Hogwarts express for another year of school. She knew this year would be a stressful one, with their OWL exams coming up, but she also knew that as long as she had her boys by her side, she would be absolutely fine.
Speaking of her friends, she was currently walking along the train trying to find them. She knew that Lily and Remus were prefects now so they’d be at the front of the train, but she was struggling to find anyone else. Eventually, she found James, sitting in a carriage by himself, absentmindedly watching the view. She chuckled to herself at the situation, the reverse of their meeting all those years ago.
She slid the door open, catching his attention and his ever-so-addictive smile. “Got room for an old pal?” She asked, sitting next to him when he patted the seat, his hand enveloping hers as soon as she had, a silent communication. I missed you.
“I was starting to think you’d gotten cool and forgotten about me.” He joked, nudging her playfully.
“Piss off Potter, I was always cooler than you.” She teased back, glad to see that nothing had changed despite their time apart. It never did, they were always James and (y/n), inseparable no matter how hard anyone tried. “Where is everyone?”
“Lils and Moony are doing prefect duties, and Sirius enlisted Peter’s help to try and sneak into their carriage and get the insider information.” He rolled his eyes light-heartedly, forming air quotes around Sirius’ words as (y/n) laughed, eyes closing in amusement. “What’s that on your eyes?” James suddenly asked, stopping her laughter short as she tried to figure out what he meant.
“Oh!” She remembered. “I went to see Lils in the holidays and she was showing me this glitter eyeliner that muggles wear! Why, do you not like it?” She suddenly felt self-conscious, wondering if it really was too much despite Lily’s reassurances. It was a subtle white, but still, it was glitter on her face.
“The opposite!” James was quick to answer, rushing so much to not hurt her feelings that he wasn’t thinking about what he was saying. “I think you look really beautiful (y/n/n), with or without the makeup. Besides, the glitter brings out your eyes.”
At this point, they were both blushing furiously, and James was still holding her hand, neither of them willing to let go. (y/n) couldn’t help but smile to herself, and remembered to thank Lily for the recommendation the second they were in the dorm together that evening.
James climbed the last step into the astronomy tower, seeing (y/n) leaning against the railing already, gazing into the night sky, a blanket and an array of snacks out on the floor behind her.
It was a ritual they’d started who knows when, a chance to wind down and escape the chaos of everyday life, to enjoy each other’s company and to feast away on whatever snacks they had managed to stow away for these evenings. Tonight’s selection looked to consist mostly of cauldron cakes and chocolate frogs, with the occasional sugar quill hidden amongst the rest. “Heavy on the sugar tonight, I see.” He broke the silence teasingly, settling himself so that he was sat at (y/n)’s feet, still able to see the clear night sky above them.
“If I don’t consume my own bodyweight in sugar I think I’ll pass out I’m that exhausted.” She commented back, sinking down next to him. Automatically, his arm wound around her shoulder, pulling her into his side and resting his chin on top of her head. There weren’t words to describe the feeling of pure content as she melted into him, completely at ease.
She reached out and grabbed a chocolate frog, unwrapping it and handing the card to James with a sigh upon seeing it was one already in her collection. She bit into the chocolate, her gaze on the night sky as his was unable to break away from her, the way she settled so peacefully against him.
“The stars sparkle too, you know.” She broke the silence, voice quiet but still holding its signature melodic tone. James finally broke away from looking at her, joining her eyeline and looking at the constellations above them. Even though he wasn’t taking astronomy as a NEWT, spending so much time in the tower with (y/n) as she mapped the sky meant he knew precisely what he was looking at, and traced the constellations with his eyes.
“You know, six years of friendship and I don’t think I ever asked you why you like shiny things so much. I always just accepted it as a part of who you are.” A smile graced her face as she unconsciously twiddled her fingers.
“Don’t laugh.” She warned, and he solemnly shook his head. “I think there’s something so entrancing, so beautiful about them. I think it serves as a reminder that even the most seemingly dull thing,” she picked up another chocolate frog box at this point, waving her wand to create a light sparkle over it, “is wonderfully brilliant if you just remember to look at it in the right way. It’s a lesson we should all carry with us, and I try to remember it whenever I can. Everything is beautiful if you give it a chance.” The sparkles on the box faded in the moonlight, as (y/n) finally looked up at James, only to find him already staring back at her.
Body thinking quicker than brain, seeing her (y/e/c) eyes glimmering up at him, James leant down and pressed his lips to hers. She stifled a gasp, quickly moving her lips back against his as her hand wound gently around the back of his neck. He poured all of his admiration into the kiss, everything he had been feeling for her since he didn’t even know when, feeling his heart soar to be here with her in that moment.
Eventually, they broke away for air, and a breathy laugh fell from (y/n)’s lips, blush rising on her cheeks as she turned her face away. James reached for her hand, interlacing their fingers and gently rubbing circles on the back of her hand with his thumb. “I’ve been drawn to you since the day I saw you in that train carriage. You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever met, your soul. I didn’t even realise the outside matched until we came back from that summer you spent with Lily. But god, every day since then I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you. I like you, (y/n/n). I really like you.”
Around them, a shimmering cloud exploded simultaneous to a wide grin spreading across (y/n)’s face. It was their own galaxy, just like all that time ago in the charms lesson, but she was still in the centre, still giddy with excitement. “I like you too, Jamie.” Her smile turned a little sheepish. “And sorry, I think my emotions got a little out of control.” The star-like sparkles slowly dissipated around them until there was nothing left, and this time it was (y/n) who leaned up to James, connecting their lips one more time.
“You taste like chocolate.”
“I’m sure that must be awful for you, Potter”. Nothing had changed, and yet nothing would be the same either.
James was sat on the floor of his dorm, textbooks open in front of him, although this late in the day he was struggling to pay any attention to them. What he was focused on instead was his girlfriend, tucked into the alcove of the windowsill, absentmindedly writing away on a piece of parchment.
Her (y/h/c) hair was in plaits down her back, and in the candlelight the silver threads that James had helped her braid in this morning were casting light across the room that shifted with every little shake of her head or shrug of her shoulders.
“You’re staring again, Jamie.” She chastised, although the humour was clear in her voice. He pushed himself up from the floor with an exaggerated groan, making his way over to her and pulling her gently into his chest, pressing a soft kiss into her hair.
“Can’t help it love, you’re an actual angel.” He didn’t see it but he knew she’d be rolling her eyes as she buried her face in his chest to hide the blush that was forming on her cheeks.
“Stop being so cheesy.”
“As if you don’t love it.” She pressed a kiss into his chest, resting her head against him as she went back to her writing. He tried not to pry, but he couldn’t help but catch notice of his name and his interest piqued. “Who are you writing to?”
“Euphemia.” She replied nonchalantly, not pausing her actions as he took a step away, face scrunched in confusion.
“My mother?” she paused at this, looking up at him with false exasperation.
“Do you know many other Euphemias?” She deadpanned. He shrugged, admitting her fair point, moving back to her side where she immediately snuggled back into his warmth.
“How long have you been writing to my mum?” She paused for a second, contemplating.
“Since the start of term I think. She sent an owl, I responded, we haven’t really stopped talking since. Oh, I’m coming over for Christmas by the way, she invited me. Said it wouldn’t be Christmas without the whole family there” (y/n) looked up at him, flashing a mischievous grin, expecting him to whine childishly like he normally would, complaining that he was supposed to ask her. Instead, looking more solemn than she’d seen him in a long time, he crushed her against him, holding her so tightly before he leant down and connected their lips. The kiss was bruising, but it was packed with adoration, and it left (y/n) slightly breathless. He broke away, leaning his forehead against hers as she tried to catch her breath back. “What was that for?”
“I love you. So much. You’re absolutely perfect, and I swear, I can’t wait until the day I can put a ring on that finger and make it official, make you a Potter for real. I promise, it’s going to be the most sparkling, dazzling gem you’ve ever seen. It’ll shine just as brightly as you, and it’ll always remind you that you’re beautiful, in every way, and just how much I love you.” Her hand had come to rest on his cheek, smiling throughout his little speech, parchment cast aside and forgotten about at this point.
“Don’t be silly, James.” She laughed, stroking his cheek with her thumb. “I love shiny things, yes, but I don’t need one to be reminded of how amazing you are, or how much I love you. Hell, you could ask me to marry you with a paper ring and I’d still say yes in a heartbeat. I’m saying yes to you, to a life. You don’t need to win me over with some ridiculously expensive piece of jewellery.” He nodded slightly, pecking her lips before moving back to where he had been sat on the floor.
(y/n) picked her parchment back up, continuing on to the letter she had been writing to Euphemia Potter, unable to help themselves from planning the Christmas festivities despite it being early November.
Deep in concentration, she startled slightly as she noticed movement coming from the corner of her eye. She looked to the side to see her boyfriend once again, although this time he was knelt before her, holding up a piece of parchment that he had hastily fashioned into a ring, coupled with a sheepish smile.
Laughing merrily, she hopped down from the windowsill, pulling him up by his jumper and kissing him passionately as she slid the piece of paper onto her finger, looking forward to the day when they were older, when they could promise this for real, knowing that they had the rest of their lives ahead of them to love each other unconditionally.
When James first stepped on that Hogwarts train, he was hoping to find a friend he could share every moment with for the next seven years. He had found that in her, a best friend, now a lover, for seven years but for so much longer. The girl with the sparkling bow turned out to be his soulmate, and he sent a prayer of thanks to the stars every day.

Debts and balances: or how much does one man have to pay over the course of his life?
Good morning everyone! Today we’re going to be talking about debts, and why Jiang Cheng needs to shut the fuck up on debts because he is the one in the wrong pretty much the entire time.
Let’s start by acknowledging that I am not of this culture so I may perhaps state a thing or two wrong, but I also have several functioning brain cells to rub together and I pay attention so I will probably be more right than most of the “hot takes” I see on why Jiang Cheng is not actually in the wrong here. Because he is. He so is.
So, debts. First of all, there are multiple levels and layers of debts and to whom do you owe them too. So let’s start with the first one where the story is subtle about it and yet both Jiang Cheng and Madam Yu are in the wrong. We know that Cangse Sanren saved Jiang Fengmian’s life at one point when they were young. Life debts are big. To only be alive because of someone else’s actions is a debt that it is possible you will never be able to pay back. There are multiple stories of otherwise good people protecting the obvious villain because they owe that.
Jiang Fengmian’s only way of being able to pay back that debt after Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze die is to take care of their child and raise him how they would have. I.E, as a cultivator. This is not a debt that Wei Wuxian owes to the Jiangs. It is quite literally, the least of what Jiang Fengmian owes him and his parents to do.
Jiang Cheng cannot claim that Wei Wuxian owes them for his life. He is wrong.
Next debt that even Jiang Cheng does not try to claim, only his ever so pleasant stans, the fucking dogs. The fucking dogs that he does not actually give a fuck about.
Wei Wuxian does not ask anyone to do anything about the dogs. He is not in a mental state to. He is in a state of triggered phobia where his brain literally goes into run away screaming mode. This is also not funny and Jiang Cheng is a jackass for making fun of it whenever it happens. Jiang Fengmian is the one who decides that it’s better for the dogs to go. Even though Jiang Cheng is upset, he does not actually hold this as a lingering grudge against Wei Wuxian. He lets it the fuck go. And even if he didn’t, the resentment and anger should be aimed at the person who actually made a decision about it. Not Wei Wuxian. He does not give one singular fuck about his dogs later on. Let the fucking dogs go.
Third off: The Fall of Lotus Pier. There are different levels of blame that we can lay on this. Wei Wuxian is not close to responsible for this. Jiang Cheng knows this and elects to blame him anyway.
The first people we can lay the blame on the fall of Lotus Pier is the Wens, who came with ships, warriors, Wang Lingjiao to rile up the notoriously short tempered asshole Madam Yu, and Wen Zhuliu the Core-Melting Hand. They came prepared for battle and they got what they wanted. Madam Yu is the second one we can lay the blame on, for deciding to attack and demean Wang Lingjiao, not for making her do anything she didn’t want to do, because holy hell did she want to whip Wei Wuxian until he couldn’t move and leapt at the chance to do such a thing, but because Wang Lingjiao is a servant who was elevated by her lover and Madam Yu is a classist asshole. This is the only reason she flips out. Wei Wuxian did nothing wrong. Wei Wuxian does not have the blood of Lotus Pier on his hands, he is tied to Jiang Cheng and told to protect him at the cost of his life, a debt he does not owe.
The four debt he attempts to claim, the only one that might be considered to have some teeth if it weren’t for how much Wei Wuxian gives him back almost immediately. Jiang Cheng goes to distract the Wens from Wei Wuxian and ends up getting captured and losing his golden core. So first off, in this world a golden core is a lot to lose, I won’t deny that. But, first off, Wei Wuxian is only in danger because after being whipped a lot, then strangled, then having to run after Jiang Cheng multiple times because he would rather go die at Lotus Pier than listen to either of his parents and escape, he still goes into town to get them something to eat because otherwise Jiang Cheng would rather lie on the ground and die. Fucking great sect leadership there, huh Jiang Cheng? But yes, Jiang Cheng sees the Wens, sees them notice Wei Wuxian, goes off to distract them and then gets captured and loses his golden core.
Now we’re getting to some of the debts that Jiang Cheng owes and refuses to pay back, because that’s definitely going to get him far in this world. Wei Wuxian in his panic and attempt to find Jiang Cheng, finds Wen Ning, who after some struggles manages to convince him that he can sneak in and get Jiang Cheng back out. In addition, he also retrieves the bodies of Madam Yu and Jiang Fengmian. This is huge. Jiang Cheng now owes him both a life debt for again, saving his life at great cost to his own: Wen Ning is literally committing treason here, and also for restoring the lost honor of not being able to bury his parents properly. Wen Ning gives them a proper burial and later after the war he is able to lie them to rest in the Ancestors Hall so their spirits will be at peace and he will have fulfilled his fillial duties. By all means, the debt he owes Wen Ning in particular is so great that he should have taken in every Wen in those camps and sheltered them because it is as close as he will ever get to repaying that debt. And that’s just Wen Ning!
The next debt he owes and refuses to pay is to Wen Qing, a genius doctor and respected by Wen Ruohan, who uses the prestige and skills she has to protect both him and Wei Wuxian in at this point enemy territory when they are being actively searched for, being the new sect leader and head disciple of Yunmeng Jiang. She hides them and then later uses her skills to give him a new golden core so that he can go and fight back against his people, revitalizing his clan and eradicating hers. This is another debt that could only really be paid back by protecting her people if she came to him. He owes her literally his life, his power and his people.
The third debt he owes and refuses to pay is to Wei Wuxian, who more than overbalances the scales back in his favor by giving him his golden core. He pays his chance at immortality, his power, his strength, his cultivation, everything that he has to his name so that Jiang Cheng won’t starve himself to death over losing his core. In addition, he tells Jiang Cheng that this comes from a once in a lifetime favor from his mother’s master so even before when he didn’t know about the core, this is still a massive, massive debt, a limitless one time favor from an immortal that he uses Wei Wuxian’s chance to get and never actually thanks him. So at this point, his own golden core as a debt starts to seem a little hollow. Either way, it’s been repaid. An action you do in service of someone else is not a weapon you get to hold over their heads for multiple lives.
Moving on! The next debt he would like to claim is that Wei Wuxian apparently has no right to do things he does not approve of. Excuse me? Is he now a computer program that crashed? What the fuck Jiang Wanyin? Wei Wuxian has less rank than him, although Jiang Cheng is so high rank in this society that he only shares his rank with three other people and there’s no one above him so it would be very hard for him to not be, but he is still a person, with his own thoughts, wishes, dreams, hopes and beliefs. He is not an extension of your hand, to make your clan look good and stand behind you as a hammer to smash on people. Wen Qing goes to Wei Wuxian to ask for help for finding her brother, her people because they are literally being tortured to death. This is a debt that by all means, Jiang Cheng should be repaying. See that part where Wen Ning committed treason to help him and restore his family’s honor? See that part where Wen Qing literally gave him the ability to go back to war against her family? This is the point where anyone with honor would recognize this is the only thing I can do. I will throw myself on my sword if I must, but I must repay this debt to them. There is nothing less I can do. But Jiang Cheng has only the honor of a mangy cur and ignores this, and when Wei Wuxian goes to fulfill this debt, he tells him to stop. To him, his multiple life debts are an inconvience to shoving his nose so far up Jin Guangshan’s ass that he’s tasting what he had for dinner that day.
The next debt that he would like to claim is the death of his brother in law. This is a debt that Wei Wuxian would owe to specific people. This debt is to Jiang Yanli, Jin Guangshan and Jin Ling, one of whom is wanting to forgive it, one who is too small to decide at the time, and one who straight up does not give a fuck beyond advancing his power. Jiang Cheng is not one of these people. His sister is fine, she’s not his concern anymore, she’s a part of the Jin sect. The only reason why he died is that Jiang Cheng decided the best way to repay his debt to Wei Wuxian was to throw a temper tantrum and declare him an enemy to everyone, ripping out every support from under his feet. Regardless, Jiang Cheng is an asshole and does not get to claim this debt.
The final one of Wei Wuxian’s first life that he keeps hurling at him is the death of his sister...the death of his sister who chose to leap between Wei Wuxian and a sword. The death of his sister at a battle that broke out because Jiang Cheng has been with Jin Guangshan whipping the cultivation world into a frenzy against the Wens and Wei Wuxian because of power and jealousy. The battle that would have not happened if they’d left them alone. Jiang Cheng has been to the burial mounds. He has seen the farmers, he has seen the baby there. He has decided that rather than do anything to repay these various deaths, he will kill them on other people’s swords instead. Because he is also a coward and won’t pick fights he can’t win. In addition he likes to steal Yanli’s agency, she’s the one who chose to come, she’s the one who chose to get in the way and she doesn’t die with regrets. And she is not his debt to claim. Again, the one who actually gets to claim this death that Wei Wuxian is not responsible for is Jin Ling, who actually shapes up and decides that it doesn’t matter, he doesn’t blame Wei Wuxian for it. He forgives him his role in that space and moves the fuck on, unlike a certain sir stabby grape mcwhipinnoencts.
And then Wei Wuxian dies and any debts he may have still owed to Jiang Cheng, not that there were any, die with him. Jiang Cheng has no claim on him, he was not part of his sect, they were not brothers in any way, indeed Jiang Cheng called him his enemy. Even most people with far more real grudges at this point would let it go. Wei Wuxian is so dead that no one can find his soul, no matter how hard they look. He comes back to life and reaps the rewards of his actions, finding new allies, getting the chance to actually interact with Jin Ling and make his apologies, and in the end, settle down to a peaceful life with an adoring husband and nothing left to be repaid. If there is still a debt he owes, it is only to Mo Xuanyu, who gave up his entire cycle of life to let Wei Wuxian reincarnate early with his memories, a sacrifice he only asked for repayment in the death of his family. He may owe more still, but that is all Mo Xuanyu wanted from him in repayment for this great sacrifice. The cultivation world is in the wrong when they’re trying to persecute him again for the actions of his previous life, he owes them nothing anymore. The debts he carries towards Jin Ling are the ones he chooses to take on, feeling guilty that he grew up without his parents due to the world’s general actions and also no one else taking responsibility for how far things fell.
That is what Jiang Cheng finally realizes in the temple, crouched on the floor and sobbing like a spoiled child over the golden core sacrifice. Is that he is in the wrong and has been in the wrong the whole time. That there is nothing he can hold onto, no debt that Wei Wuxian ever owed him that he could demand to be paid. He built it all up in his head as he left his honor, his family and his dignity in the wake of his arrogance. And it’s a painful thing to realize, the consequences of your decisions, but all he can do is live with his own ruined reputation, his own loneliness and the fact that no one wants to be around him. He’s blacklisted by multiple matchmakers, his disciples are more like thugs, Wei Wuxian chooses every opportunity to get away from him and even Jin Ling likes him less and less over the course of the book, not forgetting that he seems to prefer Jin Guangyao to begin with as he actually talks to him sometimes and doesn’t hit him. Jiang Cheng refusing to pay his debts gives him exactly what a debt deserter deserves. No one has a reason to trust him. The one bit of positive character growth he does is giving up and not trying to reel him back in by telling him of the sacrifice. At this point, all it would be is just him trying to get another debt he cannot hold because it is long since repaid, never quite made up for what they gave him to make up for it, and worthless in the face of Wei Wuxian’s new life. Wei Wuxian owes him nothing and never has.
Also, just to tally up the relationship between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng on things given between the two of them, Jiang Cheng gives him: a lot of whinging on how unfair it is that Wei Wuxian is a prodigy, and a one time immediately regretted and held over his head sacrifice of a golden core. Whereas Wei Wuxian gives him: many lessons on how to be a kinder person that he ignores, the patience and tolerance of his stinkbug attitude, his love, his affection, his fucking golden core, his reputation, his blood, his livelihood, taking over his debts, trying to keep any of his actions from reflecting on the Jiangs even though if Jiang Cheng had repaid any of the debts he owed, there would have been no problems because if the Jin’s did decide to attack, Wei Wuxian would fight back and he can level battle fields on his own, his honor, his relationships, and even his life in the end, because if Wei Wuxian had ever turned on him like he claimed, he would have been a bloody smeared spot on the ground. And Jiang Cheng gobbles this all up and demands more with Wei Wuxian’s blood and tears dribbling from his mouth.
Would you give that much for someone who doesn’t treat you well? Would you find that a reasonable price to pay for someone who demeans you at every opportunity, who tells you you deserve your misfortunes and that no one likes you? Why are you surprised that in the end Wei Wuxian would rather walk away with people who care about him, why he gives up, leaves any opportunity for anything in Jiang Cheng’s hands. Wei Wuxian has given more than any person should for almost nothing. It is a sign of triumph and victory, of recognizing his own worth and value in the world and who he wants to be with, that he leaves, that he walks away with his head held high. He owes Jiang Cheng nothing, and Jiang Cheng will just have to fucking live with that.

Monster trio + Law with S/O who loves taking pictures of lightning
Tumblr media
@ye-rin164 asked :  i was thinking that if its possible for your write either a scenario or a HC ( what makes you comfortable) about The Monster Trio+ Law having an S/O who's into Storms Chasing, like she has the hobby of capturing awesome pics during thunderstorm and especially for lightings, like she never gets scared of going out on this bad weather just to admire it and get good pics, so maybe like once the gentlemen's happens to be free and wanted to know more about how she usually take these awesome pics , and once they see how she risky gets in danger just for a picture they get worried but she's like nothing happened its an awesome adventurous experience so they'd later feel proud about it👁️👄👁️
A/N : Its absolutely an amazing request Yui chan! Thankyou so much for requesting me for it! I loved writing for it!! And the picture you took is awesome!! I wrote them as drabbles if you dont mind! I hope you like it!
Zoro, Sanji, Law under the cut!
Word count : 1.3K
Warnings : Not proof read, but its all fluff so don’t worry!
MONKEY D LUFFY
Tumblr media
Oh my god! That’s so cool Y/N!!!
Luffy would be so damn smitten by your hobby of taking pictures of the lightning.
He’d be so impressed to see you in action and would crave for more of it!
He’d take your hobby to a next level and would jump with you in his arms towards the lightning. Yes he’d never let anything happen to you though. The man likes to be in risky situations always.
He’d be the absolute partner for the photography session for you!
Once he took you so close that his hair and your hair stood up because of the close range, indicating a lightning was about to hit you two.
Then the lightning struck you two, but Luffy was there to shield you and protect you! He is a rubber man after all. The lightning would have ZERO effect on him.
You’d inspect for any wounds but he’d give you a grin and say that he is totally fine and lightning had no effect on him.
After that you and Luffy definitely got a lecture from the Navigator and the snipper. Luffy even got some kicks and punches as he almost risked your life.
But you knew you could trust Luffy with your whole heart. That was one of the reason why, you got the absolute best capture of lightning ever.
RORONOA ZORO
Tumblr media
“Don’t go too far away! Wait for me! OYE Y/N!”
He’d become the overprotective boyfriend because of your interest in this hobby.
He’d be proud of the way you are being so daring while taking photos, but he’d also be worried because of the way you just go towards the lightning to take photos.
One day, Zoro thought it’d be great to take a nap as the weather was nice and sunny. After some time he woke up to the sound of thunder.
“What the hell?! it was all sunny just a while ago”, he’d think and would look for you, but you weren’t there, also your camera was missing. He suspected something like this would happen so he’d run in the rain looking at the lightning.
Then he’d find you taking pictures with your camera. He’d see how happy you’d look as you took pictures. Making him stop in his tracks.
Trust me, Zoro would forget that he should scold you for leaving without him. But… he’d just look at you. Mesmerised by the way you again run after the lightning.
What?! Running after the lightning again!!! His senses would come back after a while and would come to you and throw you over his shoulder and run away before the lightning hits you.
Zoro would run in the speed of another lightning with you still dangling on his shoulder. But you’d still get amazing shots of lightning anyway. In the way, if a lightning was about to hit, he’d repel the lightning away with a strong blow using his swords.
You never doubted Zoro’s skills and scenes like this made you to appreciate him even more!
“Nice one Zoro!”
“Hehe thank- IDIOT LETS LEAVE!!”, he’d still blush like a baby at your compliments.
These risky situations only made you people to fall in love even more and would stay memorable for you two!
BLACK LEG SANJI
Tumblr media
“My dear its dangerous so, Let me prote- Y/N! LET ME COME WITH YOU!!!”
He is really impressed by your hobby but would be terrified as hell because of the way you risk everything to take photos of the lightning.
For Sanji your hobby is amazing too. If he sees the pictures of the lightning you took, he’d be hella proud of you.
Ussop would never hear the end of how amazing your pictures are.
Sanji even brags about you with Zoro saying, “Hey moss head, did you see the pictures Y/N took the other day. You bet your ass, can’t even click one picture properly. Look at my love, so talented”.
Even though Sanji was proud of you, he would still be a bit scared. He tried to put on a brave front by saying he’d protect you, but his insecurities would make him think otherwise.
One day as he got to know that there was going to be a thunder storm. He started to look for you and you were already ahead of him. He asked that he want to come with you and you agreed.
As you take pictures, he would keep an eye on you and the thunder storm. Making sure it’s not getting bad.
Sanji loves to watch you as you take pictures. You seem excited and totally focused on your hobby.
You wouldn’t care about the rain drenching you head to toe. But Sanji was definitely worried about your health.
He gulped every time you look at your picture as you see it after clicking a picture. His heart started to beat faster, its like seeing you for the first time again for Sanji.
You were like an angel to him. No one could be compared to you. You are the one who seemed more beautiful than the nature herself to him.
In between his thoughts about you, he forgot to notice the thunder storm getting bad.
“Oh no! We have to go Y/N come with me”
He’d carry you like a bride and sky walk in an instant to get to safety. As he was doing that, you got the perfect angel from the sky to capture the most perfect you could.
As you both reached a safer area, you showed him the picture and jump on him to hug him. He blushed like hell that time.
“Thankyou Sanji!! I couldn’t have gotten this picture if you didn’t sky walk with me. Thankyou”, you said as you went closer to him and wiped the blood dripping from his nose.
Damn he thought and he still keeps on thinking he is absolutely blessed to have you.
TRAFALGAR D WATER LAW
Tumblr media
“Now?! You know you catch a cold everyti- FINE DON’T GO ALONE!”
Law would be totally worried about you going on your little adventures.
Law would be damn proud of the pictures you take but wouldn’t show it. But you knew he was proud because of the smirk he has when he sees your photos.
He even has some pictures you took, stuck on his work desk. Mostly it’ll be covered with paper works and documents but, you know how much he treasures them.
One time you went to him to tell him about going to take photos. He started telling you about how your health would be affected to stay in the rain for so long.
You didn’t care, he gave up and accompanied you on the little trip. The doctor was actually very happy. But he didn’t show his emotions.
Law liked to be beside you during this session always. He loved to see his lover get all spirited and hyped up. It felt happy to him see you happy.
You were the light in his dark life. Or at least he thought it every time he saw you. His life as a pirate captain doctor wasn’t easy. But you always looked like a ray of sunshine in his lonely life.
Seeing the storm getting closer to you people, he’d make sure to be ready to use his powers to leave ASAP.
As the lightning was about to hit, he used a rock to teleport to another place. Just in time.
“Law!”
“What now?”, he enquired only for to see your surprised expression as you looked at the photo you took. He leaned down and saw that, it was a beautiful photo of lightning.
“I love this. Thankyou Law”, you said as you hugged him. He blushed and returned the hug. He wasn’t really used to physical appreciation so he always got flustered whenever you hugged him.
‘Yeah… I love this dork’, he thought before he smiled and hugged you tighter. He loved you and you knew it even if he didn’t use his words. Because his actions always spoke to you.
XOXOXOXOXO
I hope you liked it! Thanks for reading it!

[CN] Gavin’s Divination Date
🍒 Warning: This post contains detailed spoilers for a date, 占卜之约, which has not been released in EN! 🍒
Tumblr media
[ Released on 16 September 2021 ]
Tumblr media
MC: Gavin, I’ve been way too unlucky recently! I fell down while riding a bicycle, the water supply was cut halfway during a shower, and last week, three flights were delayed by more than two hours within the span of three days... Sob sob, life is so difficult...
It’s a Saturday, and Gavin has come over to my house to kill time as usual. The moment we meet, I can’t help but wail about how I painstakingly got through the week.
Tumblr media
As though he’s comforting a small animal, his palm gently covers the top my head.
Gavin: You’ve already told me these things.
Tumblr media
He pulls me over to sit on the sofa, then leans over to look at my knee. Knowing his intentions and feeling afraid that he’s genuinely worried, I hurriedly wave my hands.
MC: Actually, it wasn’t a serious fall, and my skin didn’t tear. There were a few red cuts, but they're gone now.
Even after confirming the veracity of what I said, Gavin doesn’t straighten up. His fingers rub my knee, conveying his belated consolation.
After a while, he rests an arm on the sofa while turning his head towards me.
Tumblr media
Gavin: Want to drink milk tea or eat cake? Didn’t you say that with these two things, even the worst of moods can be turned into the clearest of skies?
With this reminder, a location instantly flashes past my mind.
MC: Let’s drink coffee!
I reach for my phone on the coffee table. Tapping on my saved searches, I show Gavin a shop.
MC: This one - Witch Café. The name’s a little outdated, but it’s really popular recently. I’ve seen many people checking in on Moments.
MC: The manager of this shop knows divination, and the reviews mentioned that she’s really accurate...
MC: Also, if the results from the divination aren’t that great, she could help turn my fortune around.
MC: The shop sells lots of objects used for changing one’s fortune, such as crystal rings and bracelets.
MC: I think what I need most right now, aside from you... would be a change of fortune!
Gavin bursts into a laugh, then lifts his head to look at me.
Tumblr media
Gavin: It’s my fault for not learning divination to change your fortune for the better. Otherwise, you’d only need me.
Gavin’s quick wit causes me to do a thumbs-up.
MC: Wow. Your logic... makes a little bit of sense.
He scrolls down my phone screen, taking a casual look at the café’s introduction.
Gavin: Mm, it looks really interesting and isn’t very far.
MC: It’s really nearby. It’s only a few kilometres away, and there definitely won’t be a traffic jam at his hour. But it’s the weekend, so I’m not sure if we’d need to queue.
Gavin takes my phone from my hand, then pushes me on the back gently.
Gavin: Get changed. I’ll give them a call to make a reservation.
I immediately get up, giving him a deliberately formal bow.
MC: Understood.
-
Tumblr media
The internet-famous café is even more popular than I imagined. Although it isn’t time for afternoon tea yet, the shop is already fully packed.
Fortunately, we’re seated in a relatively quiet corner next to the window. However, we can still hear a few ladies from the neighbouring table fervently discussing the results of their divination.
I tug on Gavin’s sleeve from across the table.
MC: Gavin, you’ve never believed in such things, have you?
Gavin: Divination?
Gavin nods frankly, then suddenly chuckles.
Tumblr media
Gavin: I initially wanted to say that I didn’t believe it. But I suddenly remembered that an Evolver who can predict the future is sitting right in front of me.
MC: ...that’s true?!
Realising this, I sink into a deep contemplation. Gavin reaches out to scratch the tip of my nose.
Gavin: I meant that as a joke. It’s impossible to meet a second Evolver with a precognition ability.
I glare at Gavin angrily. He shifts his gaze, looking at the manager who is currently talking to patrons.
Tumblr media
Gavin: But she is an Evolver.
MC: Really?
I turn my head to look. The manager is wearing a black apron, and she’s bending down as she patiently explains the divination symbol to a patron, her smile warm and amiable.
She exudes an aura which makes whatever she says very believable.
Just as my anticipation is hooked, Gavin stifles it with his words.
Tumblr media
Gavin: But it definitely isn’t related to precognition.
MC: I see...
When Gavin sees that my anticipation has dampened, he pushes a blueberry cake in front of me.
Gavin: Don’t feel disappointed yet. Divination has never needed to rely on Evol. You’ll know if it’s accurate after giving it a try.
He digs a small piece of cake with a spoon, then brings it over to me. Munching on it, my eyes widen as I look at him.
MC: Incredibly! Delicious!
The cake exceeded my expectations. Thinking that the coffee might be pretty good too, I quickly lift the cup of coffee from the table.
Tumblr media
In the meantime, Gavin picks up the explanatory card the manager had just brought over, and starts reading from it.
Gavin: It says that once you’ve finished drinking the coffee, you have to press the bell to call for the manager. The manager will obtain the divination results after observing the shape of the coffee sediments.
Gavin: Before the divination, you could think of the contents of the divination first.
Gavin: If you have a ring or another token, you could prepare it beforehand. Place it at the bottom of the cup afterwards to increase the effectiveness.
After reading this, he rests his chin against his hand while chuckling softly.
Gavin: It’s almost the same as the tarot cards we tried the last time.
I take the explanatory card from him. Opening it up, I give it a sweeping glance.
MC: ...so it’s tasseography. I did research on it when we were playing with tarot cards the last time. Afterwards, I realised how complicated it is to interpret the divination results, so I gave up on learning it.
Finishing the rest of the coffee in one gulp, I press the copper bell at the corner of the table.
Upon hearing the bell, the manager looks up and shoots me a smile while washing a coffee cup. After wiping her hands, she walks over to us.
Manager: Are the both of you done with your coffee?
Seeing me nod in anticipation, she picks up the serving tray on the table, placing it next to the coffee cup.
Manager: May I know how I should address you?
MC: MC.
Manager: MC, lift the coffee cup and sway it gently while contemplating on your divination question. Once you’re done, place the cup upside down onto the tray.
I follow her instructions.
After a short while, she uncovers the cup, displaying the shape of the coffee sediments inside it.
Manager: Based on the results, you seem to have been going through a rough time lately, and your mood hasn’t been great. Is this correct?
MC: !!!
I immediately look at Gavin, thinking that this is far too accurate.
The manager seems to detect an affirmation from my expression. She sets down the coffee cup, then retrieves two wrapped chocolate cookies from her apron.
Manager: I made them this afternoon, and they’re for you. Based on the shape of the coffee sediments, although you might have experienced some rough moments recently, all the unhappy moments have already passed. Over the next few days, you’ll receive good news in succession, and you’ll be happier.
While saying this, she leans over, her slightly curled hair exuding a floral fragrance which refreshes the soul, causing me to be left in a mild daze.
Gavin suddenly speaks up.
Tumblr media
Gavin: You’re using Evol.
The manager pauses in fright. For a moment, she’s at a loss, and has no choice but to bow slightly with her hands by her side.
Manager: I’m sorry, have I offended the both of you?
Seeing her frantic expression, I hurriedly shake my head.
MC: I-it’s fine... we don’t discriminate against Evolvers. And I’m sure you didn’t have malicious intentions.
The manager’s shoulders slump in resignation, admitting her “little magic” to us candidly.
Manager: ...I just wanted to send a flower into your memories.
MC: Send a flower?
Seeing that I didn’t understand what she meant, she explains patently.
Manager: Sorry, that’s a phrase I use in the shop.
Manager: Through tasseography, I can truly tell that you haven’t been in a good mood recently. But it’s very difficult to change your future fortune.
Manager: In order to lift the spirits of patrons who do divinations, I use my Evol to alter their memories slightly.
Manager: However, my Evol has its limits. The only thing I can do is add something small that’s worthwhile of happiness into their unhappy memories, such as a flower.
Manager: Are you willing to give it a try?
Considering how frank she is, I can’t find a reason to refuse. Furthermore, no incidents will occur with Gavin around.
MC: Mm...
The manager’s hand gently glides across me. Although I feel as though nothing happened, she signals that she’s done. Gavin stares at me curiously.
Tumblr media
Gavin: Are there any changes to your memories?
Tumblr media
I inexplicably recall the time when I fell off the bicycle, and images beginning from the moment I fell surface in my mind -
The path in front of me is tilted, and I can’t control my plummet towards my left side.
These images are exactly the same as what actually happened, but in the very last snippet -
In an unremarkable corner of the crosswalk, a blue wild flower sways along with the breeze.
MC: A flower? There’s really a flower!
For some reason, seeing this flower enveloped in sunlight causes my emotions to become much more composed, reducing the annoyance I felt about the fall.
The manager releases a joyful sigh, then continues her soft explanation on why she does such things.
Manager: People often have a deep impression of negative things, while happy moments are fleeting. Unhappy memories linger much longer in memories.
Manager: So I thought - if I could add an element of happiness into the unhappy memories of patrons, such as a flower, or a ray of sunlight...
Manager: Their unhappy memories may become a little brighter. On a subconscious level, their mood would naturally become better.
Manager: With a good mood to lift them up, they’d focus on the positive aspect of things the next time they face something else. That’s why they’d find that their fortunes have truly turned for the better.
After saying this, the manager looks at the both of us before apologising again softly.
Manager: Even though I use Evol on patrons, I don’t have malicious intentions. Could you be magnanimous and not report me?
Tumblr media
I toss a glance at Gavin, hoping that the Captain would close an eye this time.
After pondering for a moment, Gavin nods calmly at the manager.
Tumblr media
Gavin: I won’t report you, but don’t use Evol on patrons in the future.
He looks at me from the side, then reaches out to grab a tissue before wiping it gently against the corner of my lips. Lowering my head, I spot blueberry coloured cream on the white tissue.
Tumblr media
Gavin: I believe that your coffee and snacks are enough to bring patrons happiness.
The manager grabs my hand in relief, thanking me repeatedly.
Manager: Thank you both for liking my coffee and cakes. I’ll give another present to the both of you.

By the time we leave the café, it’s still early. Gavin and I aren’t in a hurry to go back. Holding hands, we take a stroll beneath the shade of trees.
We can’t help but bring up what happened in the café earlier.
MC: It turns out that it’s so simple to change one’s mood. Adding an element of happiness into unhappy memories is enough.
Surrounded by the chirping of cicadas, even Gavin’s voice reveals a refreshing and carefree touch of summer.
Seeing his slightly sweat-damped fringe sticking to his temples, I retrieve a tissue from my bag and wipe it for him.
Tumblr media
Gavin: I remember that you once mentioned that the secret to maintaining a happy life is to focus on the positive side of things.
While saying this, Gavin takes the tissue in my hand and stores it into his own pocket.
MC: Mm, that’s right! Actually, such forms of self comfort are pretty effective.
MC: Even though I fell while riding a bike, I told myself that it was fortunate that it wasn’t anything more than a fall.
MC: When the water supply was cut while I was showering, it only happened because I didn’t pay attention to the announcement by the property management...
MC: I’d just learn from this experience and check the announcement board more often.
MC: Also, the flights were delayed due to torrential rain. It was an objective reason, and nobody could have expected it.
MC: A lady from the airline company even gave me orange juice and a small gift.
Gavin chuckles leisurely, meeting my gaze from the corner of his eyes.
Gavin: Many things may not have happened according to how you wished over the short span of a week. Immersing yourself in the state of mind that everything wouldn’t go smoothly made you forget to look at the positive side of everything.
MC: Mm, but I can’t help it... Maintaining an optimistic outlook is really difficult. It’s inevitable to feel discouraged.
While saying this, I tighten my grip on his hand.
MC: But now, I know that if I face any unhappy moments in the future, I just have to search for a flower.
Gavin stops in his footsteps, lowering his eyes and giving me a smile.
Gavin: Have you thought of a new method to cheer yourself up?
I release a matter-of-fact “mm”. Pulling his collar, I give him a gentle peck on the chin.
MC: Whenever I face an unlucky incident, all I have to do is tell you immediately, and I’d immediately be comforted by you...
MC: That way, I’d no longer be unhappy.
Gavin is taken aback momentarily. Then, he smiles faintly while looking at me.
MC: Whether it’s a fall or a delayed flight... The moment I share these things with you, the moodiness in my heart vanishes like smoke. The reason why I specially complained to you today was just to play coy.
I draw closer to him, swinging our interlaced hands.
MC: In the café earlier, I didn’t take the crystal bracelet she offered to change my fortune for the better...
MC: I already have a bracelet which can bring me the greatest luck in the world.
I lower my head. Fragments of sunlight fall onto the ginkgo bracelet, refracting resplendent and exquisite faint light.
MC: This ginkgo leaf makes me happier than any other flower. No matter when, simply looking at it lifts my mood instantly.
Gavin doesn't release my hand. Instead, he pulls my hand to his back, bringing me into his arms gently.
The verdant trees and chirping of cicadas intertwine. The clean fragrance of shower gel from the side of his neck causes me to wrap my arms around him tightly.
Tumblr media
Gavin: I knew that you were playing coy. Trivial matters have never influenced your mood. You’re always very good at comforting yourself and seeing the positive side of everything. But the bracelet alone isn’t enough. The next time you come looking for me, I’ll definitely do something that’d make you even happier.
After saying this, he can’t help but release a resigned chuckle.
Tumblr media
Gavin: ...even though I haven’t thought of what I’d do.
I burst into a chuckle, then bury my head into his embrace completely.
Tumblr media
Gavin: But there will definitely be things that I can do to add an element of happiness into your unhappy memories.
Dense green hues and shadows fall on his shoulders. Lifting my head, I see faint light riding the wind through crevices of large clouds in the faraway sky.
Leisurely and carefree ants pass by the slabstone road, winding around a fallen green leaf, and I can’t tell if they’re taking a stroll or scavenging for food.
Summer is flourishing, and this moment is incomparably tranquil.
My heart is filled to the brim with contentedness and happiness. Even my tone is relaxed and at ease.
MC: Gavin, you have to promise me one thing. If you’re unhappy about something in the future, you have to tell me about it immediately, okay? I can add many, many elements of happiness into your memories so that you wouldn’t even have half a second of unhappiness. I can guarantee that.
I lift my head to look at Gavin. With our close proximity, I can see his amber eyes reflecting large swathes of lush branches and leaves belonging exclusively to midsummer.
Tumblr media
The gentleness flowing from these eyes aren’t stingy at all as they land on my face.
MC: We have to be the ever-fresh and blooming flowers in each of our memories, forever swaying in the wind.
Tumblr media
Gavin releases a soft “okay”. He rests his chin on my shoulder, tightening his grip around my waist.
He murmurs at my ear.
Tumblr media
Gavin: There’s no need for a guarantee. Your existence has always been the most brightly-coloured flower in my memories.

Gavin’s Post: Different flavours of sodas seem to be really popular this summer.
MC: In order to clear the existing stock in the fridge, it’s time to have supper!
Gavin: Pick between mala crayfish and barbecue?

Gavin’s Post: Different flavours of sodas seem to be really popular this summer.
MC: Soda is always the best!
Gavin: Although that’s true, it’s best to drink fewer cold beverages.

Gavin’s Post: Different flavours of sodas seem to be really popular this summer.
MC: Pick between white peach and tangerine!
Gavin: I’ll pick the one you like less.

random kisses w/ the haikyuu!! boys hcs 💋
characters: tsukishima, akaashi, kenma, iwaizumi & noya
thank you to anon for the amazing request :3
IWAIZUMI & KENMA’S ARE AGED UP
tw// swearing, sexual references, mentions of kinks, mentions of choking
Tumblr media
Kei Tsukishima
tsukishima was always very hesitant to kiss and hug tbh
the only thing he did freely without overthinking was hold your hand but even then, he’d immediately pull away if he thought his palm was getting the slightest bit sweaty (from his nerves)
also, he’d get really tense when ever he saw you lean in for a kiss bc he was always afraid that he’d mess up something
like what happens if he sneezes exactly when you’re about to connect lips?- he’d die, that’s what would happen.
anyway, when you first began surprising him by placing kisses on either the back of his hand or the nape of his neck, he’d become a blushing , irritated mess
like, he thought it was so cute and sweet so of course he’d blush but then he’d get mad bc..you made him blush! how embarrassing for him, tsk.
but although he’d be annoyed and hiss things like ‘you’re so weird’ or ‘that’s simp behaviour’ he would never tell you to stop bc deep down he knows that he enjoys it lol
and surprisingly, he wasn’t in denial about it at first either
like mans isn’t stupid
obviously he liked it, why else would he blush?
since he was aware that he liked your lil’ random kisses, he began to pretend to be invested in activity bc he realised that if you thought he was preoccupied with something important/stressful, you’d be more likely to give his neck a lil’ peck
for instance, if he’s just on his phone or whatever then you text him saying that you’re coming over, he immediately rush to gather his backpack and bring out his notes so he can sit at his desk to look like he’s studying lmao
then you walk in like ‘awh bb you’re always working so hard 🥺 kithes’
and he’s just got the most cunning smirk on his face which he’s trying his very best hide to conceal
then you gave him a kiss on the cheek and he was just like ‘gotcha bitch ( •̀ ω •́ )✧’
anyway, when he’s just deadass being lazy he can still tell when you’re about to kiss him bc he’s very observant etc etc
(also bc you always have a cheesy grin on your face before you kiss him lol)
so after a few years of dating, they become less of ‘random kisses’ and more like just regular kisses for tsukki but he always tries to act like it’s surprising
whether that be jumping slightly whenever you peck the back of his neck or inhaling sharply as you pressed a sudden kiss to his forehead
it’s just bc he loves to hear your giggles at his reaction 🥺 he thinks it’s so cute
Tumblr media
Keiji Akaashi
this all began when he was lying on the couch, reading a book while looking absolutely scrumptious so you just had to give him a lil’ peck on the forehead and he’s been addicted ever since
he especially likes it when you sneak up behind him, wrap him in a hug then plant a kiss on the nape of his neck - he thinks it’s so cute and he always cuddles your arms to his chest so you don’t let go
OMG AND YOU DID IT AT SCHOOL ONCE AT THE END OF PRACTISE, IN FRONT OF ALL HIS TEAMMATES AND HE JUST- MALFUNTIONED FJBFVBGRAFD
deadass he just stood like a statue while you cuddled up behind him, his mouth slightly agape and his eyes wide
bokuto thought it was adorable and was like ‘awwwhhh!! #couplegoals!! 💖💕🥰’
(yes he does say the hashtag aloud)
while the rest of the team are wondering if akaashi is okay. i mean, mans looking pretty stiff
but dw he’s not dead y’all, he’s just ascended  👼
like seriously he loves it so much
sometimes he tries to give you random kisses by just grabbing your face while you’re doing something and lean in to place his lips upon yours but he always gets distract by how gorgeous you are, so he’ll spend a little too long admiring your face which will lead to you having to awkwardly muttering something along the lines of
‘i love you too, akaashi. but, erm, my toast is burning.’
Tumblr media
Hajime Iwaizumi
iwaizumi already did something kinda similar to random kisses but not really yk?
like whenever he saw you really invested in an activity that you didn’t like doing (cleaning, laundry, studying, chores etc) he’d plant a firm kiss on your cheek which would end up trailing across your face, to your lips - just to boost your spirits lol :)
but they weren’t really surprising or ‘random’ bc he would always announce something to grab your attention before kissing you, like ‘babe’ or ‘wow’
also, imo ‘random kisses’ gives off a ‘sweet lil’ smooch’ sorta vibe but the kisses he gives you are far from ‘smooches’
like they are unintentionally sensual as hell
and he doesn’t even realise how erotic they are so he just suddenly pulls away to leave you with your chores ✋😔
anyway, you first gave him a surprise kiss while he was cooking dinner and whispered something jokingly in his ear along the lines of ‘woah, husband material.’
damn, if iwa knew that all he had to do for some kithes was be a hubby then he would’ve done that sooner like geez 😳
istg after that day iwaizumi would be in full maid-mode whenever you were in the house (bc he apparently doesn’t know the difference between the duties of a maid and a ‘husband’ lol)
‘yes i do the cooking, yes i do the cleaning’ - nicki manaj, hey mama -iwazumi hajime after being told that’s he’s husband material
so know you feel obliged to give him kisses and praise him whenever you see him doing chores/cooking/gardening bc you know he’s only doing that to please you lmao
so you just give the man what he wants i mean, he’s trying so hard
and he puts in so much effort to make sure he looks hot while doing it
like if he’s cleaning the bathroom room, he’ll oil himself and get out the Mr Muscle spray to make sure that his chest is shinier than the bathroom tiles
then you’ll kiss his forehead and tell him how he’s doing a great job blah blah blah
honestly, the kisses are hardly ‘random’ anymore since iwaizumi sets up a whole scene just to get you to peck his cheek but whatever
anyway, you helped him realise that he had a domestic and servitude kink
and for that, he’s forever grateful 🥰
Tumblr media
Kenma Kuzome
pov: you’re sad so you play stardew valley and your s/o notices and they pounce on you with their love and affection 🥺
and you cry bc you love them so much but you’re not good at expressing it 😔✌
- ok, end of pov -
that was kenma’s pov btw ^
but like seriously, it’s his absolute favourite when you give him kisses while he’s playing video games
and you always give exactly the right quantity - it’s like you can read his mind or something
like, if he’s in a the climax of a round of any first-person shoot/rpg and you happen to walk by, you’ll just place a brief yet caring kiss on the side of his head then leave him alone
or if he’s on stream and you walk into the room - but don’t wanna be on camera - you’ll blow him kisses and he’ll smile like an idiot then discretely blow one back
then his chat is like ‘omg he can smile?’, ‘why is he smiling?’ ,‘is he sending air kisses? SIMP!!!’
but when he’s down, blaring lo-fi music from his cat speakers and playing animal crossing, nintendogs, stardew valley or tomodachi life (etc), you’ll shower him with all your cuddles and kisses
ngl tho, when you scuttle up to him while he’s playing any game and press a lil’ kiss on his ear as you absently rub his shoulders, he literally melts
he just kinda sits there and stares at the screen but not even a fraction of his mind is dedicated on the game, it’s all just ‘(y/n). i love them so much. i hope they know that. wow, i got so lucky, i hope they never leave me. (y/n), if only you could read my mind.’
and to show that he likes it, he purrs!!!
not voluntarily, it kinda just escaped his mouth the first time you were giving him a massage and since you insisted that it was the cutest thing you’ve ever heard, he continues to do it - but v quietly
but- there is one thing he likes more than random kisses
and that is random cuddles
or random lapping-sitting yESSS
he is a simp so if you’re feeling needy or whateva and sit on his lap while he’s playing, he’ll literally just quit tbh-
that’s one of the only times he’ll not use the excuse ‘i’ll do it when this round ends’ so use it wisely and sparingly
but that’s only if you sit facing towards him bc he realised that if you sit like that, he’ll get some cooch
but otherwise, if you just sit on his lap for the sake of sitting on his lap, he’ll either jokingly push you off or continue playing his game by looking over your shoulder
Tumblr media
Yū Nishinoya
you stole it from him lol
he’s the OG random kisser  ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ
let’s recall how on your first date with him, you were worrying that he might’ve stood you up as you waited on the picnic blanket for him to arrive and then he jumped out from one of the hedges and attacked you with kisses
like mans got a lot of energy so i can just imagine him attacking you with affection whenever he is bored
and he does it regardless of what you are doing at the time
studying? kiss attack.
cleaning? tickle attack.
sleeping? cuddle attack.
hotel? trivago
he goes into that shit with a strategy too like ‘if i kiss them on the neck first they’ll move their head and arm which will give me access to their chest so then i’ll plant a kiss there too and depending on whether the jerk to the left or right i can then go in for a kiss on their n--’ etc etc
so imagine how hyped he is when you sneak up behind him in the school corridor and peck his cheek
AND IT WAS IN FRONT OF HIS FRIENDS TOO, IT WAS AWESOME
he was so triumphant about it, as if he had just won some sort of award lol
‘yes, i am the coochieman. and what about it?’
then he bought you lunch for ‘being the best s/o ever’ 🥺
but don’t think you’ll ever beat him in the random kissing game bc while he was feeding you the lunch he bought (he does that sometimes, playfully though, whenever he is feeling like a simp) he’ll lean in and steal a lil’ kiss which will lead to you choking on your rice
‘hey babe, plz don’t choke. otherwise i’ll have to give you mouth-to-mouth, ahaha.’
meanwhile, you’re turning red
