the first one is i can't decide by the scissor sisters! idk, something about the silly cheery tone juxtaposed w/ the dark lyrics scratches my brain itches ykyk? it's super catchy too :3

number two, black betty! specifically the caravan palace cover. i love the vibe, makes you wanna get up and dance. i imagine this playing while driving super fast running from like apocalypse zombies hehe. black betty #1 milf for real

number three, tongues and teeth by the crane wives! i'm a sucker for anything by the crane wives but i especially like the fast-paced folksy vibe & the meaning of the lyrics...ough. it's about the dogged devotion, it's about the one-sided love & it's about the lover's knowledge that the singer is toxic but their determination to fix them anyway even though the singer doesn't want to be fixed. you understand.

number four, creme brulee by spill tab! ok there's no deeper meaning or analysis to this one i just like when the guitar does the thing :) it's like an electronic pop version of a 1920s plaintive anti-love song if that makes sense? i also love when there's a key shift at the epilogue? of the song? whatever the closing lyrics are called. yeah

number five, a little messed up by june! i like the haunting, electronic vibe it gives off. makes you feel a little uncomfortable in the best way. between the singer & the lover. very push and pull, masochism tango type relationship. we love to see it. they're super underrated, go check out more of their songs they're really good :3
