just a quick note because i’ve been seeing this misconception going around and it’s the fault of our uninformed reporters:

a two-way contract has nothing to do with waiver eligibility or where a player will ultimately play. it can indicates the front office is not confident in that player’s likelihood to make the big club and is a way to keep costs down, but all it means is the salary they get in the minors vs the salary they get in the varsity. waiver status is determined by NHL games played, not contract type.
