feeling very sad about the kuzy news not just because i'm going to miss him in dc, and because without him we are down to four guys from the cup-winning team, team of my heart, but also because this anticlimactic sad probably-ending to his time as a capital is so illustrative of how shitty this sport can be. he may not have out here speaking articulately in english about his mental health problems, but he was not shy about them. he didn't hide that he was struggling. he has spoken openly about how hockey culture can give you such a dark and destructive mindset and how much he cares about not bringing that home to his children, how he doesn't want his children to play the game because of that. about how he purposefully tries to not take things so seriously to protect himself from that even though he knows it pisses people off. instead of sympathy or taking the opportunity for a wider conversation people mostly made coke jokes. when he first went into the players assistance program i felt so sick because i knew people were going to be awful about it and i was right.

i'm so sad but i'm glad that gmbm seems to at least kind of be working with him to find him the change of scenery he wants instead of just dumping him. i hope he gets whatever kind of second chance he wants or needs, and wherever he lands he is able to find peace and joy. i will miss you beautiful bird man <3

People who complain about those who undercut by 1 Gil you know that we do that to be polite right?

If everyone undercuts by 1 Gil, the price stays relatively stable. If everyone undercuts by hundreds or even thousands it leads to devaluation or worse, a fluctuating market. Trust me, the bots that undercut are annoying, but it’s the bots, not the undercutting.

Ppl complain about stuff being overpriced and I’m not going to knock that one bc it’s true to some extent—that being said it is ridiculously easy to make extra money in this game if you really want to. To what extent do we lower the values of certain items? Inflation is out of control wrt things like materia absolutely (especially DOH/DOL materia but if you’re worrying about that you definitely can make enough cash to deal with that) but on some level, it is a free market. Hop over to another world if you rly need something on the cheap ig.

But honestly I’m curious how people feel about this.

on this late night i am thinking incredibly hard about how, when faced with a choice between preventing a new friend from harm + clearing up a misunderstanding and choosing the path that would potentially find him a cure for his catatonic friend, zack recalled marlene's words of saying that aerith liked cloud, and of course she did, because he (zack) wasn't there. hadn't been there for a long time

and after recalling these words and grasping at the ribbon tied around his hand, zack ultimately decides that by taking the right-hand path he can, with some luck, fulfill two of his own desires - 1) potentially seeing his friend cloud healed and healthily awake again, and 2) making sure that aerith will be able to be happy when she wakes if he succeeds the first part. he has not and will not let go of his adoration and love for her, but if cloud is seemingly what makes her happy in this bizarre world he's found himself in, he'll choose that option in a heartbeat, because her happiness means the world to him even if it means accepting that he's not the focus of it anymore. he just loves her so much . oh i'm in pain. zack fair the man that you are

You’re not gonna make me say nice things about stuff I can’t stand?? ;) no but I’m good with gushing about stuff I love too. I apologize for lack of coherence or an actual point XD.

ok so, fringe. I love it so. I can’t wait to finish it but also I’m sad about finishing it if you know what I mean. It’s about grief and love that crosses universes and guilt and forgiveness and parents and their children and how far would you go for the people that you love and found family and more, all wrapped up in psuedo science, a good bit of body horror, and many sci-fi tropes. It’s definitely not without its flaws, but it is genuinely good despite them. Also one of the few projects that JJ Abrams had a hand in that I think truly sticks the landing. (anyways this is one of my favorite posts you’ve ever made, and it’s also about fringe. to me.)

Ahh batfam, where do I start. As someone who is passionate about adoption, sad brother relationships as well as complicated parent child relationships, and family (bio, found, etc), and then you add in the inherent drama and angst of superheroes, and batman/batfam stuff is basically tailor made for me.

As with all comics storylines, there are some real messed up things that happen, certain arcs make no sense and/or totally mess up established character arcs and personalities (I have a love/hate relationship with DC comics 😔). I’ve read/watched a pretty varied amalgamation of Batman stuff, from certain comics arcs to fanfic, to the old tv show to the newer movies, to the somewhat controversial WFA webtoon, etc, and enjoyed all to various degrees. If you’re looking for a good place to start fanfic wise, I’d be remiss if I didn’t recommend Cor Et Cerebrum by audreycritter, one of my all time favorite fics, batfam or otherwise. As far as comics, I tend to prefer the pre 2000s stuff, although I’ve read stuff later than that that I enjoyed.
