oooooof this is super difficult bc when i first read the prompt i was like "but there is no character that's exactly like me??" but then i thought about it some more and then i actually was able to come up with characters where i can see myself in some very specific aspects... well, have fun guessing as to what my reasoning for my choices might be kkjsdfjsdf

(funny story about this one bc my mom actually sat me down for the first season of this and when we were done i was just sitting there, mouth agape as it slowly dawns on me that i have the tendency to act like hira in a certain aspect while my mom is just sitting next to me, laughing at me and my existential crisis, going "yeah. why do you think i wanted you to see this")

(this choice is actually EXTREMELY HILARIOUS when you know how much i love talking while kluen mostly speaks in one-word-sentences. however: trust me bro)

Ohhh, I'm rereading Mystra's entry in the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide... and this detail:

This means Gale was punished for trying to restore and preserve what he thought was a lost piece of Mystra's magic. Gale being Mystra's ex-lover put aside. He as her follower, she his goddess, was punished for attempting to do the one foundational rule of her faith.

I'm seething and so sad at the same time.

Edit: I used the word punish loosely, as in, toxic/abusive people will take any small mistake or action and twist it into something they can take advantage of. This post was also largely from the stand point of a toxic deity rather than a toxic partner, but both takes are valid here. Especially with the, “you didn’t stay compliant so now I’m giving you the silent treatment” part of it—from a god and a partner perspective.

anyway, I’ve been wanting to yap about them again. Ig this spell of disinterest lasted only a few days even if I still feel a bit funny…

anyway I’m finking about how Lisa reacted w her suspicions about Jekyll…like she didn’t wanna show she felt that way, and at some point I’m sure she suspected adultery lol resenting hyde and thinking he was covering up for Jekyll or something. It’s a bit difficult because Lisa is a wife and therefore WAY more intimate than utterson. She would have access to things he didn’t, such as jekylls study and maybe even his papers and the lab…

I imagine she only started guessing it was something chemical (jekylls secret I mean) when she started intercepting orders leik “you said you weren’t working this week why is there 10 lbs of salt at the door step?” HELP… but yeah something leik that,,, plus the thrashing and whining in his sleep w his crazy ass…

i like to think everyone has a colour associated with them, whether its just your fave colour or what you generally wear most of or what colour your bedroom walls are. i always associate the name sophie with dark blue, my mum is always a nice turquoise, i like to think my colour is a bright sunflower yellow.

if you have a specific shade pls tell me i adore when ppl have associated colours and tell me them, bc i think of them when i see that colour

After the mole arc, it seemed like Nightfall was at risk of continuing to risk her health for the sake of Twilight. This extra doesn't exactly contradict that (suffering at the doorway all full of cold was sure a choice, after all) but the end part where she thought back to both Twilight and Handler showing concern for her and telling her to take a break makes me think that they're finally getting through to her somewhat. Alas, she's far from fully there so I doubt this is the last stunt we'll see her pull when it comes to neeedlessly trying to impress Twilight, but! I do she's starting to internalise that she needs to rest at times.

And the choice to have Handler in the flashback and not just Twilight is one I'm definitely a fan of. On a conscious level, Nightfall is motivated by wanting to win Twilight's affection, but below that, she is aware that the other agents have experienced loss and don't want to lose her too.

Funny how the people telling her to rest are those who are terrible at taking care of themselves though. With Handler, it's more passive depression, but Twilight's perfectionist streak (though coming from a different motivation) can be just as detrimental to his own health.

It's nice to see that for all they tend to neglect themselves they care about each other enough to push each other to do better by themselves.

mgs itself is guilty of this but i feel like people gloss over the realistic repercussions of sunny’s abuse wayyyyy too much…she was separated from her mother, drugged, groomed, and isolated SINCE BIRTH, and it’s likely raiden didn’t rescue her until she was at least two years old; she’s been with snake and otacon for most of her life at this point but, despite being a technical genius, still struggles with functioning properly. her motorics are disturbed. she can’t read social cues. virtually the only times she doesn’t stutter are when she’s reciting patterns of numbers she was conditioned into memorizing. it’s genuinely horrific and i absolutely hate how mgs4 (and a good chunk of the fandom) boil this behavior down to being a result of her acclimating to a new environment, or needing a maternal figure, or just being shy. otasune don’t struggle with her because they’re first-time parents; it’s because they literally do not have the skillsets necessary to properly accommodate a kid that’s gone through what sunny has—despite them almost certainly having been abused children themselves. i really do lament the fact that the long-term effects of this treatment aren’t ever really considered; i don’t think, realistically, that naomi’s influence should have been nearly enough to help her fix those issues

Funnily enough, they do understand stress-related illness and injury, especially with education on the line, but there's still a huge cultural clash (and arising misunderstandings).

On Cybertron, medical-related frames are regulated to a mid-to-higher caste in the system as Golden Age Cybertron highly values them and those fields. It stems from the Quintesson Occupation since their conquerors greatly valued intellectual pursuits (and ways to control Cybertronian biology and keep the population docile to their leverage).

That doesn't jive well with American business practices. To the Autobots, June Darby is their equivalent of a highly skilled medical practitioner, especially since she's acting as a trainer or as a head of a specialty unit. On Cybertron, she would be afforded more privileges in accordance with her rank and responsibilities: greater pay, final say on her core staff or floats, better access to fuel grades and a greater vareity of flavorings, off-premise housing on a discount, vacation pay, emergency/sick pay, access to parks, libraries, and more places dedicated to pure recreation (like amusement parks or plays), an allowance to decorate her hab to her preference, greater priority if she wanted to mentor a newframe or a sparkling from the Well (granted it had to share her own medical-frame), seating on public transport, discounted/free items and services through the hospital and university networks, and priority on networking and trade within the system.

Shoot, it's how Ratchet kept his clinic in the Underground alive for that long. He utilized all the privileges afforded to him as one of the best of the best until it couldn't be overlooked. Even then, Ratchet was afforded a heads-up about the raid long before it happened so he could clear out and wrap up any illegal treatment or training.

If Ratchet found out how poor the state of medical care in the U.S., especially the mockery it was twisted by insurance and private equity, the mech would be so infuriated that he would skip English and go back into Neocybex to the point all of his 'strongly worded letters' to many local, state, and federal committees would be in Cybertronian.

Plus, Ratchet is incredibly salty, bitter, and frustrated at the current state of the war... so he'll channel those emotions into the political and social scene on bettering healthcare and patient outcomes by coordinating many advocacy groups... and curating ties to organizations and individuals that have beef to pick over the state of things or have no qualms in upsetting social polite fictions.

Bottom line, Cybertronians are very familiar with stress-related injuries and illnesses, but they're absolutely astounded on how Earth (let's be honest, the U.S. since the Autobots seems to only sole ties to them) can be so forward, yet incredibly backward on things.

The Sillies being Silly

Something snapped in me and I realized we don’t have enough of these two having playful interactions. They DO exist they’re just rare. So I’m trying to fix it bc this is one of my biggest hc for their relationship.

And yes, I do believe it’s coming from both sides. Greg is a menace but I fear Vanessa can be just as bad. If you take their “antagonistic” relationship from SB and nullify it a tad, you get something akin to sibling torture bonding. At least that’s how I see it. 😂
