#cultural misunderstandings

There should be more cultural clashes between the Autobots and their human allies/pals, especially on the language front. Yeah, Spike's name is hilarious, but there's more.
The film Car and its sequels would make the 'bots either super interested or, if it's a sparkling fic, really uncomfortable.
Not because of the plot or anthromorphic features. Because of the soundtracks. "Life is a Highway," "Real Gone," and "Ride" sound like sex songs to them. Not the wink-wink-it's-inferred, it's straight-up sex. Like they ain't prude, but damn squishes, y'all roll like that?
'Driver' and 'rider' can be sexual euphemisms to Cybertronians. It's their equivalent to 'pitcher' and 'catcher.' Similar to 'crash' and how long it can be slang for 'extreme overload' because a mecha reboots or glitches out.
So just imagine, some of the Cybertronians reevaluating their neighbors, especially when they find dating app profiles going, "I like Pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and long car rides under the stars."
Random 'bot/'con: all right, all right, let's see how's that endurance

5+1 Danny Phantom x DC universe prompt
Five times The Teen Titans thought they were fighting a new bad guy and the one time they realized they were just trying to make a friend.
Had this idea don't know if I'll ever fully write it but here it goes for anyone else to use. As is Fanon ghosts socialize by fighting. Dani is sent to a dimension (clockwork identified as the safest for her or because it has a lot of young heros for her to make friends with and not enough healthy ecto to create ecto ghosts) her safety while Danny fights the whole war with the GIW and there is some political upheaval about how Danny is handling it. Danny doesn't want his child in the middle of it. Dani is sent with an emergency communicator, Cujo, a backpack full of things to help her, and most importantly a case with healthy ecto.
Dani wares a medical device that gives her transfusions of ecto and nutrients her human body needs to keep her form stable. Idk if a belt or a arm cuff I like the idea of better. I briefly thought a crown belt combo for the aesthetic but a princess crown would be really impractical.
So, to the meat of the story. Dani tries to make friends the only way she knows how from both her instincts and time spent in the realms before being basically witsec'd, she picks fights with them. Stealing their stuff to get them to chase her ect. A lot of taunting and shit talking and generally being a pain. Maybe even stealing food from stores because she needs it and knows Danny will pay them back. The teen titans think she's a villain she thinks they are really bonding. The more she evades them the more they get frustrated and uping the ante. They get confused when she actually helps them take out an actually baddy. Then she steals Robin's cape and they are right back to being pissed with her.
Then one day during one of their "spars" Starfire or someone else gets a lucky shot on her medical device which of course they think is just villain tech or something. Or alternatively she could just be running low and needs to refill if you want to be boring. Her medical device gives a warning beep and she calls time out. Now anytime she'd ever called time out it was a respected rule in the realms. In a play fight you call break everything stops so she is completely caught off guard when her new friends don't stop. They keep going and it's not fun anymore it's scary.
She starts crying and she gets hurt and doesn't understand why and is begging them to tell her why they are being mean. The team at first is annoyed and scoffs while thinking they finally got the upper hand and she is just trying to trick them with crocodile tears. Then she starts destabilizing. Then they start to freak out and realize that it's real. She calls Cujo to fetch her medkit with her ecto. They treat her and inbetween sobs and trying to help what they now realize is a scared little girl that they get she thought they were playing. Starfire and Robin are the first to figure out it's a cultural/species difference. The whole team feels super guilty.
Then scared when Dad Danny and Tucker show up having gotten an alert her medical device has malfunctioned. Danny explains everything and apologizes about the trouble. The team apologies for their side of things. Dani ends up with friends in the end and the team takes care of her and nicknames her princess. Funny beginning heartache middle and happy ending.

Need more “aliens misunderstanding Humans because they’re looking at us through the lens of their culture” in my life (especially with knitting)
Alien walks onto the scene, decides that the Human that’s far away from the rest of the Humans and is minding their own business, knitting a scarf, must be the one in charge, as obviously a true leader would be focused on helping their subordinates in any way, even if they need to make them clothes
Human makes themselves a nice cozy blanket, alien decides that the Human’s mating season must have begun, good luck on luring in a fine mate with your craftsmanship!
Human switches their hairstyle just for a little bit of variety, but to the alien, obviously this is Significant™️, they must find out what has upset their coworker so much!!
Etc etc etc

Fic trope - 51&70 - (I'll leave the ship with Drautos up to you) if you could please?
Fanfic Trope Mash Up Ask Game
51. Accidentally Married
70. Locked in a Room.
Titus Drautos goes to Galahd to meet with the locals and recruit for the Kingsglaive. His local guide is Nyx Ulric, one of their top fighters. He’s friendly and helpful and Titus definitely wants to recruit him for the Kingsglaive.
One day while touring one of their temples, Titus gets bored and wanders off. He finds a room filled with all sorts of interesting art and artifacts. He’s browsing the collection when Nyx finds him.
“This is all very impressive,” Titus says, gesturing to all the things around him.
“Thanks, it’s one of our ritual rooms.” Nyx tries to herd Titus out of the room. “Let’s get back to the others.”
Titus is slightly disappointed, hoping for one of Nyx’s tours, but he heads to the door. He sees an elaborate design on the back of the door and can’t help but to reach out and touch it.
“No, don’t!” Nyx speaks up, but too late as the lock clicks into place.
Titus tries the handle, but it doesn’t turn. The door is locked. He looks at Nyx, who is looking at him with an indecipherable expression.
“What is going on?” Titus tries to keep his voice calm.
“I told you, this is one of our ritual rooms.” Nyx stares at him, that same look on his face, then sighs and tries a smile. “We have to solve the puzzles in this room before the lock will open again.”
Titus frowns. “Can we not call for help?”
Nyx shakes his head. “It doesn’t work that way. No one can open the door from the outside. We can solve the puzzles or wait until morning.”
Titus groans. These Galahdans have some strange ideas. “How hard can it be?”
Nyx chuckles. “Let’s see if you feel that way in an hour.”
They work together, Nyx sharing what he knows of the artifacts in the room. Titus wants to tear his hair out more than once, but they eventually solve all the puzzles. The lock clicking open is music to Titus’ ears.
Strangely, Nyx doesn’t seem as excited.
“Wait,” Nyx puts a hand on Titus’ arm before he makes it to the door.
“What?” Titus frowns at him.
“Ah, I told you this was a ritual room, right?”
Titus nods.
“We just got married. Congrats?” Nyx smiles uncertainly.
“What.” Titus looks at Nyx in disbelief.
Nyx just shrugs. “As far as Galahd is concerned, we’re married now.” He pats Titus on the shoulder. “It could be worse?”
Titus sighs and rubs his temples. He really should have made Cor come instead.

I wish the Lost Colonies' cultures and biological quirkw had been delved deeper, especially how they would viciously clash with modern Cybertron, both pre- and post-War.
I mean, I think it's really interesting juxtaposition between the deep scars of Functionism versus the other worlds' sources of prejudice and discrimination. Camien devotion and deification of Solus versus a Cybertron with no femmes with Megatron's and Optimus' cult of personality as well as atheism and agnosticism, especially among their respective inner circles. Cybertron's complete desolation and Eukaris' lush and lively greenery. The meritocracy of racing-obsessed Velocitron. Prion had minicons with multiple alts, and Devisiun yielded split-spark twins. The people of Carcer are those of wardens living in a prison.
Do the Camiens think of their Titan's homeworld as cold and lonely? Would they think of those from Cybertron suffering from disorders from the lack of close, intimate connections and no true community?
Velocritron descended from the scientists of Navitas, and they utilized the scorching heat to derive alternative sources of fuel. Do they scorn the deprived worlds for not searching for solutions?
How do the Eukarians view the others that cyberformed their planets? Do they see Cybertron and the others as sterile and lifeless; their civility is a cheap, hollow mimicry that hides their teeth and claws?
The Carcerians developed an austere culture that prioritized keeping their Titan on complete lockdown to the point sacrificing themselves to achieve that goal. How do they view Caminus' offering to dismantle himself so his own children can thrive in such a harsh environment?
How do diplomacy and common courtesy differ from each planet? The language and food? The behaviors? The relations with nearby neighbors, both mechanical and organic?

Adding onto “aliens misunderstanding Humans” and combining that with nesting:
Aliens finding out that Humans usually sleep surrounded by multiple soft objects and deciding that they must have nests like the bird-like species have so everyone that’s on good terms with Humans gives them objects they think belong in nests
Some of these items include: good luck charms, actual feathers from one of the aforementioned species, weapons to guard your place where you are most vulnerable against possible intruders, snacks, various soft items like blankets, scent marked items to once again keep intruders away, a pet, and random colorful items

Human Observation Log 53
Several crewmates have witnessed Human Carter thanking the automatic doors and food replicators, as well as apologizing to a table after running into it. When asked why they did such a thing, Human Carter said it was because they’re ‘Canadian’. Human Rielly informed me that Canadians are part of a religious sect that worship inanimate objects. The offerings made to the silicon fern now make much more sense.
Carter’s Journal: entry 89
I accidentally apologized to the table again after running into it. I don’t know why I keep running into it but it’s driving me crazy. Next time I might just kick it out of spite. Several crewmates have started thanking the replicator, which I think is actually very sweet of them. I’m still feeding the plant in the Galley. Jonson thinks it’s weird but I swear that thing is actually an alien. The food disappears every time and I’m not about to be eaten by a carnivorous fern several hundred lightyears away from home. If I wanted that I would have stayed stationed on Galzabab.
Rielly's Journal: Entry 92.
So I have about half the crew converted to Canadianism and the other half mimicking Carter out of respect for his beliefs. I can’t wait to see what happens when Carter finally loses it and breaks the table. I’ve been moving it a little every day. They still think the plastic fern is alive too. I’ve been eating all the offerings and today Jonson tried to explain that it was plastic and not an alien and half the Galley started yelling at them for challenging Carter’s beliefs. Jonson just sat there gobsmacked for a good ten minutes. Another great day in space.

11, with cornyx???
11. Argument
Cor turned on his heel and walked another twelve paces across his living room. Turn, and another twelve paces. A glance at the clock, and another twelve paces. He kept his breathing controlled, in time with his pacing. His fingernails started cutting into his palms, and he made himself loosen his grip. Another half hour and he’d start making phone calls.
Twenty minutes later, the front door opened. Nyx walked through, shoulders slumped, still favoring his right leg. He took off his jacket and reached up to hang it on the hook by the door, freezing as he caught sight of Cor.
Nyx frowned. “Are you alright?”
The bones in Cor’s hands creaked as his fists tightened. He stayed where he was, shooting a glare at Nyx. “What the hell, Nyx? Where have you been?”
Nyx tilted his head to the side and walked further into their living room. “The Elder Council meeting? I told you about it a couple days ago?”
Cor frowned. “I don’t-”
Nyx blew out a breath. “I know you’ve been busy with everything, but I did tell you. I even sent you a calendar reminder, just in case.”
Cor shook his head. With the current fit the council was having, his email was nigh unusable. “You didn’t answer your phone.”
Nyx grimaced. “They don’t allow phones in the meeting.”
Cor gave a sharp shake of his head. “You’re not supposed to be going out like that, you’re still recovering. You just got released.”
Nyx crossed his arms and met Cor’s eyes. “A meeting is hardly strenuous. I’m not an invalid, I’m perfectly capable of making it to Little Galahd and back under my own power.”
“You’re supposed to be resting! Here!” Cor clenched his jaw, the worry of the last few hours burning under his skin.
Nyx’s eyes narrowed. “I can’t just ignore my obligations because I’m a little sore. I’m mostly healed by now, anyway.”
“You are not!” Cor gestured at Nyx, who had shifted all his weight off his right leg.
Nyx shifted his weight back to his injured leg and uncrossed his arms. “I’ll be fine. It was a long day, which this isn’t helping.”
“Couldn’t you have waited? Surely there would be other meetings?”
Nyx put his hands on his hips and glared. “I may not be the Marshal of the Crownsguard, but I take my responsibilities to my people as seriously as you take yours. Would you have skipped any of the many meetings you had this week for a mostly healed leg?”
Cor jerked and nearly took a step forward. He would have gladly skipped any of those meetings for Nyx if he could. “You have a duty to take care of yourself!”
“Like you do?” Nyx shot back. “Is my duty to my people somehow less important than yours?”
“You’re a glaive-”
Nyx scoffed, cutting Cor off. “Yeah, I’m a glaive, but my responsibilities to my people go beyond that. I have a duty to whatever scraps of my culture we can salvage, which includes taking my place in the Elder Council. I won’t give that up, not for anyone.”
Cor felt like he’d been punched, blindsided by the bitterness in Nyx’s voice. All this time together, and he still sometimes forgot that Nyx’s loyalties were more complicated than his own. Stupid of him, he knew how important his culture was to Nyx. And yet, the reminder made something in Cor’s chest ache.
Nyx shifted his weight again and ran fingers through his hair. “Can we do this later? It’s been a long day.”
“Nyx, I-”
Nyx shuffled past him, and Cor put a hand on Nyx’s shoulder.
Cor waited until Nyx looked at him. “I’m sorry, Nyx. I would never want you to give up anything about your culture, your people.” His hand squeezed. “I was just worried…”
Nyx sighed, and sagged into Cor. “I know.”
Cor slid his other arm around Nyx and pulled him into his chest to better support Nyx’s weight. The stress of the last few hours started to dissipate as he held Nyx close.
Nyx pressed his face into Cor’s shoulder, resting most of his weight on him. “I did tell you.”
Cor almost missed the words, muffed by his shirt. He rubbed circles on Nyx’s back. “I’m sorry, I should have paid more attention.”
Nyx lifted his head to look at Cor. “I should have made sure you heard me. I know how busy you’ve been.”
Cor pressed a kiss to Nyx’s forehead. “This one’s on me. I would have gone with you, if I’d been paying attention.”
Nyx snorted and let his head fall back to Cor’s shoulder. “Non-Galahdans aren’t allowed. But I appreciate the thought.”
Cor hummed thoughtfully as he steered them towards the bedroom. “I could have at least driven you.”
“Next time,” Nyx mumbled, already half asleep.
“Next time,” Cor agreed as he helped Nyx lay down. “Now, rest. I’ve got you.”

DP Prompt 1
Everyone in the Zone knew Phantom was an odd fellow.
He always acted like he knew everyone, even when it was their first meeting.
He never stuck around long, sometimes centuries would pass without anyone seeing him.
He always seemed eager to fight, in fact he usually assumed other ghosts wanted to fight him.
So when he started bogarting a permanent portal 24/7 everyone was a bit confused, but at least now he was staying in one spot long enough to regularly visit him, now all the younger ghosts can visit him for training.
TLDR: thanks to time travel shenanigans all of Danny’s rogues think he’s much older than them and don’t realize he’s a baby ghost.
