Today I went to work in one of the computer labs for my portfolio class. The guy next to me found a flash drive left in the computer, obviously a busy student forgot it. When he told me I looked over to see if there was file names indicating who owned it. All our naming conventions have our first and last names, so it was good odds there'd be an assignment on there we could get their name from.
INSTEAD! The first name we found on it was mine.
My name, on a movie file. When he clicked it it was an old freshman animation I did of Harley Quinn. We both stared at the computer in confusion. "Is this your flash drive?" he asked hesitantly.
"It's absolutely not mine... what else is on it?"
After digging we found another name and I contacted the student. It turns out the animation professor had recommended she reference my old animation since she was doing Harley Quinn too, so there was a reasonable explanation but there has been fewer instances more surreal than seeing my name pop up on a strangers flash drive from the lab seat next to mine.

ugh. some thoughts.
really been trying to find the joy in drawing/writing again and honestly it's been such a challenge. friends have told me it's most likely depression that's making it hard to feel motivated and tbh they're probably right.
hoping to get back into being creative in the way I Want to be at some point tho. I miss it. there's still so much with my stories and characters that I haven't been able to share or explain and I wish I knew how without it feeling like this daunting, impossible task.
I don't know when I'll get around to actually sharing art again (or writing, if ever). was hoping that I'd manage to get some of my mental and physical issues in check recently for just long enough to get back into the swing of being creative, but that hasn't seemed to work. everything feels bad, both artistically and physically. I'm struggling to keep up with the frantic pace at which my brain comes up with story concepts and intriguing character interactions, even tho everything in me wishes I could turn it into tangible artistic expression so I can get it out of my head and share it. it used to be easy. I don't know why it's not now.
I'm just . tired, I guess.

As a heads up, my personal life has gotten crazy, with a lot of big changes at work to worry about. I've been taking it easy on creative projects in the meantime, both in art and writing. I appreciate all of the support, it means a lot! Hopefully I'll have time to finish my wips in the next few months.

i’m home !!
procedure went real well, everything was really smooth and almost as soon as they said, “you can count backwards if you want,” i don’t think i even said ten before i was suddenly in recovery and sipping some ginger ale.
honestly the worst part was the iv because they had to do it on the side of my wrist because apparently my veins are crooked ?? i just hate ivs anyway so that’s no surprise but other than that no complaints.
everyone was real nice and made sure i was well taken care of (my nurse even had me pee one more time before so she wouldn’t have to do a catheter which with my history…..thank you)
but yeah, i’ll have a follow up in about a month just to make sure everything’s good and the iud is doing its thing !!
i do have some cramping and bleeding but that’s normal, although a little funny because i literally just stopped my period yesterday but…oh well !! hopefully in a few months i won’t have hardly any so this we can handle and i hace some medicine (and my ~medicine) that’ll help so i’m all set.
mom had to go run some errands so my little recovery buddy is keeping me company. also, a moment of recognition for my new favorite shirt (thank you as always, Boss Dog Art; i’ve already got my eye on another one that says, “i think therefore i am against transphobia around the world” or something like that and it’s got a cool skeleton on it; this is my third shirt from them and they’re really comfy and good quality so not sponsored but check them out, they seem cool):

Patreon June Posts
I plan on making a post tomorrow for what I'll be posting on my Patreon (and my public profiles) for July, but I realized I never did one for June! So, here's a quick round-up with links for those of you who are subscribed to my Patreon!
Original Story: Simon - This is the first chapter of the book I plan on publishing in the next couple of months called Simon. The book revolves around the life of Simon who is the first-born son of a rich and powerful father who values image over everything else. The book deals with the pressure of a parent, finding family outside of the blood you were born into, and a little bit of boxing and learning how to throw a punch. (I plan to make the first chapter, at least, available on my public profile sometime later.
Exclusive Story: BNHA - Repeat - Part 1 - A Patreon-exclusive story I'll be writing and only posting to my Patreon. This story involves Shinsou Hitoshi, the adopted son of Eraserhead and Present Mic, babysitting the two after they get hit by a de-aging quirk and turned into nine-year-olds. He also is babysitting his adopted baby sister Eri. It's essentially four kids with trauma clashing into each other and learning that family can be a stronger bond than anything else.
Exclusive Story: Attack On Titan - A Sweet Hope - This is a drabble I wrote for an Attack On Titan pairing + OC that was requested by one of my $10 tier Patrons (who get a free 2k word drabble each month). It was a really cute one to write.
Original Story: A Chance Meeting - This one was inspired by an old commission I did that dealt with Final Fantasy content. I changed the characters and names and tossed up a few other things to where it's now a short original piece more than anything. It's also one I plan on posting to my public profiles in a month or two.
And that's it!
I'll talk about this more in another post, but the drabbles and stories I post to my Patreon will either be Patreon exclusive or be works that I won't post to my public profiles for 1-2 months, so pledging is a great way to read all of my content way sooner!
Depending on the tier you can also vote in polls, request stories you'd like to see written, or get a free 2,000 word drabble each month.
