pink soup on my game/computer:

note: i am on win10 w/ UC with good ol' "george" - I do not have TS2 Legacy.

anyway! for my game/computer, i get pink soup after I've updated a sims' appearance be it just their head or a whole wardrobe and I've gone through a few pages of content in the pop-up window. it does not matter the method (mirror, dresser, sim manip, gussy up etc etc) if I am flipping through pages of content, I will eventually get pink soup for that sim. more on this under the cut - the post got long, sorry!

an observation with this: it really only affects just the sim(s) I've been working on and nothing else so I save after I'm done with the sim I am working on and go on about my game; its usually not a huge issue since its typically one sim I was working on and the soup is quite intermittent so its not something I have to hurry, save, go to nhood or even quit the game. also worth noting: if I do NOT go thru a bunch of pages of content and select something on the 1st or 2nd page, I do NOT get any pink soup - doesn't matter if CC is present.

also, i do NOT get pink soup if I am just working in CAS and CAS alone BUT! i do not spend a ton of time in just CAS anyway so that may just be moot and that's fine.

the ONLY other way it WILL happen if ive been playing too long which is honestly fine bc that means its time to save and GET UP and go do something else. this usually happens around the 2-2.5hr mark. usually when that happens, Im not even mad bc yea I need to get up and go do other shit anyway. so its not a huge loss when it happens or starts to. just means I need to save and quit, do my backups and hoodchecker - and get a move on!

i can safely and smoothly play my game and get lots done well before the 2hr mark is even close so I'm not really worried about it. i don't usually play my game for more than 1-1.5hrs at a time anyway.

im grateful mine is down to a minimum. i have 5gb of CC loaded and not much else running in the background while the game is up. my game is typically nice'n'smooth, I launch w/ RPC and have all things on high EXCEPT view distance and junk bc waverly has many many trees and hood deco in all the subhoods - its smartest for me to play with that on low. ill crank it for nhood shots but for gameplay, that shit is on LOW. i am not willing to reduce the trees and hood deco lmao.

why am i posting this now? well: ive been seeing people here and on discord saying "ea is listening!" and to "report shit bc they may fix it". from my POV, they KNOW pink soup exists - they HAVE to, its been 20 years! now, idk if THEY have the know-how to fix it (doubtful) but yes, I do agree: while sims 2 is getting an influx of new players: not only should they be reporting issues but US TOO!

they may listen and it could be worth a shot but I don't believe they'll actually address and fix it permanently.

☆: editing the photos

i really really hate editing. i love the *look* of a really nice edit, but i'm. so lazy. thats why my posts almost never have text/overlays or anything. i just.... can't stand it. my current editing process is done in a photo editing app on my phone (incredibly inconvenient, don't recommend) but i've smoothed it out to adding a custom filter, and then adding the glow effect, so it's as fast as possible. anything longer and i will simply hate every second of it

☆☆: writing the dialogue/story

this one is a bit mixed for me. i love writing dialogue itself(☆☆☆☆), i love little character interactions, and i wish there was an aesthetically pleasing way to add text to my screenshots that didnt take forever on my phone. writing the STORY however is another question. i really really struggle with plotting. i usually have a great sense of a scene and the characters but i really dislike planning out long plots, thus why the fix it save is plotless, and why ive been doing so much actual gameplay the past few months

☆☆☆: styling the sims

i want to be the kind of person whos sims are really accessorized, with fun makeup, different hairstyles.... but i'm just not. i play on a laptop so my window size is pretty limited, and i have a lot of cc in my game. i can't manage more than 3 columns in cas without it going offscreen and its just... so much scrolling... i've been working on using more accessories lately bc i LOVE the look, but its not my favorite

☆☆☆☆: posing the sims

i love shopping for poses, but actually using the poses is just such a pain. different naming conventions & my own very disorganized mod folders makes it just... so hard to find the pose i'm looking for. is the pose labelled "seated" or "sitting"? or is it labelled "chair"? maybe "table"? et cetera. PAINFUL. i've finally smoothed out some of this by just having a temp one-time pose folder, and only bothering to use poses in that folder, so i don't have to dig around through my whole pose library for everything. now that i have that setup, it's been much smoother & more fun to use poses, so i've been much happier! i tried to make my own once and had medium success but i dont cuuurrently feel particularly inspired to keep making more. maybe if i find a niche that is unfilled

☆☆☆☆☆: setting up the scene

ironically this one is also kind of mixed. i LOVE building shells, and i've developed a real love for landscaping recently. it is so so calming to just pull up my build inspo pinterest board and make shells, i could literally do it all day, but the second it comes to interiors i get so frustrated. i can do a furniture layout fine, but my standards for cluttering are higher than my patience for cluttering and i inevitably get sick of it after one room and give up. i've been doing manon and vincente's house room-by-room as i need it for screenshots which has actually helped a lot, but that's not a very good method for gameplay.

11. Do you write scenes in order, or do you jump around?

truthfully it kind of depends! whenever i write i tend to have The Scene in mind and if i get impatient i'll usually write it, but i try to avoid doing it because i notice it messes with flow (but flow and pacing is something im just very conscious of, even though i observe that because im writing it my brain is reading it faster/skimming so its partially a me problem LOL)

in caged lungs im skipping around only because im trying to go with a draft format instead of editing as i go, since its so long itll help when i see everything connected, and there's a few scenes i plan on changing/rewriting completely when i get it all out. technically everything ive posted up to this point is a first draft, and its a habit i hope to break !!

12. Do you outline your fics? If yes, how detailed are your outlines?  How far do you stray from them?

i doooo yes, its mostly just a list of things/interactions i know i want. for cvd i have plans for up to chapter 9/10 or so, and just a bunch of scripts/concepts for later. with canary continuity i have a description for each scene on the google doc and i just add the content in as i go, with my actual notepad (thing i discovered i had on my laptop and have been using liberally) i mostly have quotes and passages i want to put in the story

and also for cc in particular im keeping really close track of the motifs and how i want to work them back around. already thinking about the healing part of the arc and implanting scenes/chekhovs guns that are going to loop back around WAY down the line is very funny... i actually do some of this for cvd too, i love to write intentionally like that.... i am weirdly pretentious and earnest about my turtle fanfiction. people have no idea what im going to do with that lamp and i bide my time. also the clocks. and the laundry room. and the ocean (actually that one's fine its just a parallel). and the rooftop. and the cameras oh my god the cameras. i plan on committing so many horrors

really just things i know i WANT to be consistent with is the biggest thing i keep track of (although sometimes things will just pop up AS i'm writing and i roll with the punches, like the security system being a metaphor in coming undone, and also all of the very intentional trust fall parallels and the way it conveniently worked with the chapter names. fun fact for metaphors, i REALLY planned to expand on the chess thing between leo and donnie but it messed with the pacing so im keeping it for cvd.... ive got some ideas)

OH EXCEPT FOR THAT SEP AU IVE VAGUELY TALKED ABOUT. i have EVERY SINGLE chapter plotted out, its 52 chapters long. i am NOT GOING TO WORRY ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW its a far in the future thing. but its also the only au i have that isnt like,,, specifically canon divergent, so i wanted to pay close attention to how i set things up. 4 later (currently the working name for it is where we went wrong, after the song by the hush sound, and honestly im tempted to keep it because it makes the acronym wwww which is beautifully ironic because they take NOTHING BUT LS ITS JUST ONE AFTER ANOTHER OH MY GOD)

30. How much do you edit your fics?  Do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?

OH I KIND OF ALREADY ANSWERED THIS ABOVE OOPS. im trying to break out of the habit but i mostly just grammar correct through google docs and then throw out the first draft haphazardly, and it can kinda come off polished anyway because i tend to edit as i go. sometimes it means i'll fix mistakes in fics like a month after releasing them, impatience is my Weakness

As a sole Bolas watcher ill have to say these streams have been the most fun ive had watching a stream in a while ive legit fixed my sleeping schedual just to watch these streams lemme tell you

I know that alot of people are unhappy with the ending that we got today but just to remind everyone that i dont think the admins or quackity would do anything TRULY permant without discussion with the cc's

Maxs death was obviously planned days in advance and seeing as the cc's didnt know anything about the eggs conditions or whereabouts i think its safe to assume none of them are actually dead

I trust quackity and qsmp not to do something that would obviously be so unsatisfiying to both the players and the fans, mostly because several months of build up definitely wouldnt lead to that

I think purgatory will be used as a learning experience for qsmp staff as how to make events more enjoyable, and i have no doubt that the week(s) inbetween this purgatory event and the next will be spent working out bugs and making qol changes, we cant expect everything to go perfectly without making mistakes

I think that the ending to purgatory played into the whole theme thats been hammered on over and over again by quackity both in and out of game: this event is made to make you unhappy and uncomfortable. It was tailored to brew conflict and make you unsatisfied, whivh judging by peoples reactions worked very well!

This event is definitely going to make past and future experiences sweeter. Were going to look back on pre purgatory as the good ol days before disaster and look at post purgatory as the catharsis period after a disaster. Puragatory is defintely the growing pains need to bring new life into the server, ots the absence that makes the heart grow fonder.

I have a serious question to ask people down in the replies: how many of you came back to qsmp or started WATCHING qsmp because of the purgatory event. Ill be honest after the first couple months i only tuned into mr charlie slimecicles streams and those were few and far between but after puragtory started i began to feel the insatiable lust for more qsmp so i began to watch recap videos and vods at a horrifiying pace. I started watching other povs because of how well bolas played off of each other and i didnt want to miss a single second of their shenanigans.

This single event has made me more excited for qsmp content then anything in the past couple months. I got a fucking twitter account for christs sake just because i wanted to know wehn people were going live and to see recaps on what the other teams were up too.

I know these past two weeks have been stressful and uncomfortable for some people so i ask yall to take a step back and detoxify so we can come back to this with clearer and fresher prespectives so we can focus on the fun and intruiging aspects of the event

Lets wallow in the angst and let chaos take the wheel with theories and ideas on how everything will pan out from here, i have hope that everything will turn out in the end even if its brought about woth blood sweat and tears :) as long as we all have fun in the end thats all that matters yall

I really tried to not go overboard but now i have again over 200GB of CC for Sims4. Ive basically been treating the game like a dollhouse the last few weeks, rarely going into gameplay, toying with the idea of going vanilla+ because i have a last exception error for a mod i dont want to live without lol Ive watched and executed the tutorials for several fixes including fixing broken meshes, remove shine spots, buff replacements, loading screen replacements, plumbbob replacements. i have recolored Maxis dresses to assure myself i can do it. I did it in PicsArt tho, it still worked. I know i absolutely still love the gameplay although not always the restraints of the game as is so there are mods id have to keep. My cc is all over the place, prehistoric to cyberfuturistic, im holding to CC i think might be broken or at least the functionality was broken. I have functional items i dont know what they go to like wires and outlets that say for TV but nothing happens. I really like using the extra extra small preset to make the sims shrimp sized right now. thats all i wanted to say, i might post a sim collage later, idk mine are so mediocre compared to the ones ive seen. i have really bad eyesight so my husband put a tvscreen thats much bigger than my computer screen in its place which has made seeing the screen easier and harder at the same time. im currently using a 32inch Sanyo for my PC.

We put a bunch of cc ideas (hair and clothes) in a discord server we have together and then work on the stuff together on call usually so each item is the way we both want me. Like for example i’ll be meshing the Ivy top while he works on texturing the ribbed version.  We also only do collabs when they happen, we didn’t plan AxA 2019 or this new set, mainly just made cc starting in May and wrapped it up in July to release in August. Then this time we started making stuff late December and got most of it done by the time I got done with my break. Having a planned collab/deadline makes stuff less stressful and the stuff usually turns out better imo

omg noooo ;n; yeah Litten is a cutie... incineroar is... well I got used to him tbh and kind of like him now? I absolutely hate scorbunny’s evolution (and most of the SWSH starters final evolution) so I think that made incineroar slightly better in my eyes. I really really wanted to have all my 2019 hairs updated by 2020. It was only January 2019-April 2019 that needed updated (thumbnails and display indexes). But I just lost motivation for doing it. I will focus on it next time I have a big break from school. Also planning on updating select stuff from 2018 and 2017.

this is a late as hell reply i’m sorry. I think that you have texture where the glasses texture would be. Hair texture should only be in hair section or hat section (if you don’t want it hat compatible). Here is a UV map layout that I use for making hair textures. It shouldnt have anything to do with weights

I do use reshade when I take cc previews. It adds a bit of saturation to my sims and gives them some shadows under their chin/clothes. Nothing major. Also, myself and @imvikai came up with the tropical punch palette together.

My pink flashing was fixed for good when I turned shadows off, on top of all the other recommendations. The game still looks good, but not as good as it did before the horrible Fall Creators' Update (which messed up way more than just Sims 2.) I'm saving up for a new/old computer with Windows 7 for Sims 2.

I’ll keep that in mind if mine starts back up again! Yeah, I’ve heard it screwed up a lot of stuff, including other games. Luckily TS2 was the only thing on my PC it messed with. Tbh, I think a used computer with 7 is a solution a lot of simmers will be looking for--you’re not the first person I’ve heard that from.

I actually liked Windows 10 a lot at first, but since that update, I feel like new releases tend to screw with something or other on my PC. Also not a fan of the times I put it to hibernate instead of closing all my work, walked away for a couple hours, and came back to find Windows had turned on and closed everything anyway so it could update during the time span it’s specifically set not to update in. :’)

I have Win10 + a mid-range laptop NVIDIA card + 10GB of CC, and what kept me relatively pinkless is reducing my resolution + having NVIDIA handle smooth edges (turning off smooth edges in game settings) + reducing view distance depending on how large the lot I'm playing is

Good tips! I’ve definitely started keeping the view distance on medium or smaller most of the time. Which makes me sad, because I like to see the scenery around lots, but I also like being able to play.

how do you make poses for the roof? i'm not sure how i can know if the sims will clip into the roof or float

honestly i just...eyeball it...because all roofs are different and you can’t put them into blender so. i just winged it lmao...i just made a pose that looked like it could’ve been lou climbing out the window, only the rig was still ground level, and then i used alt + 9 to lift the teleporter onto the roof as best as i could. that’s why it probably wouldn’t be a very practical pose to release, because i have no way of making it easy to use

i don’t know if i’ll be able to replicate the reshade effect totally but i could release the action i’ve made for myself? it warms up screenshots but is totally adjustable to your liking for different color tones so in that way it’s kinda similar to the reshade. i’ll seeeeee what i can do...i know the woes of mac users all too well, my friend

Nas Denies Kelis Abuse Allegations While Pleading 'We Should Be Better Examples' for Son Knight

Some five months after his ex wife Kelis accused him of mental and physical abuse in an in-depth interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Nas is telling his side of the story.

On Thursday, the rapper, 44, shared a series of seven plain black Instagram posts with lengthy captions that explain his relationship with the “Milkshake” singer, 39 — especially in relation to the child they share, a boy named Knight Jones, born in July 2009.

PART 1. The Price i Pay To See My Son. And apologies in advance for the typos as I am speaking from the heart as a man who has had enough. Today i got a call from essence about my ex wife doing another sad fictitious story. Nothing surprises me anymore, including this. This is what your life has come to sis? PART 3. There’s some seriously crazy things i won’t i disclose for our son’s sake. Because you keep my son from me ive been going thru lawyers to stop you from this bullshit I’m tired of it. I’m tired of you painting a bad picture of me. I’ve been tired of it but you never seem to get tired. I even had to be in a relationship with you AGAIN after we separated just so i could see my son & I AM JUST TIRED. Back then you asked me why didn’t i stop the divorce from happening. I tried! We are too different. Some things aren’t meant to be. We were meant to be so that we could have our son. Nothing more. You didn’t like that. I prayed for your peace of mind for years because of your uneasy soul. I still do. I guess some things take time. You definitely don’t know me now and probably never knew me. PART 4. You used to turn my phone off so my professionals couldn’t reach me and take the battery. You insulted any and everyone whoever was around me. Not a single person in my life loved or could even stand you. Luckily for you our assistants all signed NDA’s or you would have a list of men and women who would happily talk about how verbally abusive and evil you are. Your self saboteur ways has caused you your grief your dealing with. Not me. The altercations you speak of are no more different from what most normal couples go thru, but your exaggerated version is UNJUST. Whenever one is constantly attacked the instinct is to restrain that person or defend yourself to prevent escalation. In hindsight now my advice to young men out there in a situation like that is to RUN at the very first sign of verbal abuse or physical. I herd you said terrible things about me. It makes me feel sad how heartless you can be. You play with strong women’s struggles like they mean nothing. You’re taking advantage of a moment in time where women who are fighting for their lives to get justice and be treated fairly & you just looked at it as an opportunity to get ahead. Then, the “I Can” hitmaker addressed the custody arrangement he and Kelis reached in March and the Hollywood Unlocked interview: “I finally got our custody together to work with both our schedule thru court, while leaving court you tell me your gonna get me back for fighting to see my son and 3 weeks later you’re on camera doing an interview about ‘your truth’. Interesting timing.” He also urged her not to “violate another court order.”

And to conclude, the rapper explained that he had stayed silent for so long because he doesn’t “do this kind of petty s—” adding, “This is MY TRUTH. And I don’t care what else she has left to say unless it concerns our son. This is the first and last time I’m addressing this. Despite all of this I still hope for the best for her because whats best for her is what’s best for Knight.”

Nas and Kelis divorced in 2010 but did not reach a custody agreement regarding Knight until March of this year. According to TMZ, they have also been battling over the amount of child support Nas should pay. Kelis is also mother to Shepherd Mora, born in November 2015. She is married to Mike Mora.

This past April marks the first time Kelis spoke out about her relationship with Nas, calling it a “really dark” time in her life. “There was a lot of drinking. There was a lot of mental and physical abuse,” she recalled. “I probably would have stayed longer had I not been pregnant because I really did love him and because we were married. We weren’t dating, we were married. Like, this was my person.”
