For anyone who needs to hear it, remember that sites like r/syscringe and most chronically online sites are not full of medical professionals. I haven't ever been fakeclaimed on sites like that, but I've related to experiences of people who were: and I am professionally diagnosed. Are they always wrong? No, of course not. Because people who exaggerate and play make believe with DID and OSDD exist. But most likely? If you are genuinely struggling day by day, you are not one of them. Your doctor or therapist will not know you are "introject heavy" unless you tell and explain that to them, that isn't a term in the medical world.

Your doctor or therapist will not care how your alter looks so different from the body, they'll expect this, they'll ask and dig into this, they'll respect this.

My therapist has started taking DID and OSDD classes/training to understand more, this disorder isn't a mandatory class, it doesn't have the proper research it deserves. The DSM-V is forever updating and changing: the internet isn't a reliable source.

I got diagnosed as a minor. That is usually the first thing they "fakeclaim." I haven't been through even 2 years of therapy. Do not let the internet trick you into thinking these things are impossible. I knew my symptoms, the internet made me do research and doubt myself, and all I had to do was tell my therapist. That was it.

Will this be the same for everyone? No; because DID and OSDD is a hard disorder to diagnose. But you must advocate for yourself, you must let your symptoms be known. You'll be okay out there.

farseer was first person bc it was a memoir being written by an older Fitz, attempting to write the history of the six duchies but getting distracted by his own relation to the tides of history, and his wistful reminiscing and frustration as he makes sense of all that's happened to him. this is why the epigraphs are written in a different tone, and why they obfuscate info we later learn Fitz always had. (the origin of the fool, the truth of the elderlings.)

liveship traders is third person probably just because it's multiple pov, and it has to be multiple pov to effectively tell the story, and it's hard to write first person multiple pov and keep the voices clear. plus, there's no more framing device. (wintrows too humble, kennit would rather die than reveal his private thoughts and feelings to another living soul, and you could not BRIBE althea into doing the long and boring work of writing a memoir...)

HOWEVER. FUNNIEST OPTION: liveship traders is third person bc starling told him to "please get a hobby" for the 50th time and so hes resorted to writing historical fiction
