W H A T H A P P E N S W H E N...
(Carson Shaw, Greta Gill, Maxine Chapman, Maybelle Fox, Jo de Luca, Lupe Garcia, Jess McCready, Esti Gonzales and Shirley Cohen)
--------------
Carson Shaw
She had seen you. Carson had seen the exact moment that man came to greet you in the stands and held you for a long time, causing you to stop paying attention to your girlfriend's game.
When he finally gave you a break, you watched her with intent eyes on the bleachers, baseball bat in hand and a straight face. People who didn't know her and didn't know about you could well imagine that she would be focusing on the hit, but you knew that wasn't it.
However, you didn't return to the subject until they were alone at the Peaches' house. Carson didn't avoid you either, as you thought she would, but the entire time he was frowning and saying little, which was unusual.
“You can talk to me about it now if you want to,” you told her as soon as you closed the bedroom door. Carson looked at you and shrugged. "I just want you to be sure of one thing: I don't live up to anything he wants."
She looked up and smirked, still a little tense. "Carson, seriously..."
"I know, love, I know," she smiled, properly this time, and pulled you by the arm to lie on her lap. Carson grabbed your face and kissed you from every corner, giggling as she watched your reaction. “I just don't like people looking at what's mine, you know?” she whispered teasing you, and you nodded.
“Relax, coach. I'm just yours. All yours."
Greta Gill
You two were at a bar, after a few grueling games, relaxing. And a man came to talk to you just as Greta got up to get the two of you another drink. She was squinting at the situation, assessing the moment when you would be uncomfortable to kick him out. But the moment didn't happen.
So she had to use it another way. Controlling her inner anger, she called out to you aloud, very clearly, without fear of judgment: “Baby?”
You and the man turned at the same time. He looked shocked, and then when you got up and walked towards Greta, she wrapped both arms around you and kissed your neck, staring at the man.
"Oh... you already have...", he cleared his throat, unable to finish his sentence. "Excuse me, ladies, I really didn't mean to offend you ladies."
“Fine,” you said, and watched him leave. When he was away, you turned to Greta. “Love, what was that?”
The redhead smiled and hugged you, kissing your cheek tenderly. “Fine,” she mimicked your tone of voice. “Seriously, (Y\N), you were better once, baby.”
You nodded, and bit your lip in satisfaction. “I love it when you get jealous. It's sexy.”
Maxine Chapman
"Don't look now, there's a girl next to her."
Max couldn't resist, even with Clance's warnings, she looked your way and saw that girl fawning over you and making small talk, making you laugh and that other stuff. Max was jealous of that scene, but at the same time, she felt inadequate and diminished.
When the matter was over, you went to her. And noticed that she was sad. Clance started talking in your ear, but you pretended to ignore her, worried about Max. Pulling her to a corner where no one could see you, you handed her a glass of drink. “What happened, Max?”
“(Y\NN), be honest,” she pleaded, taking a sip. “Am I enough for you?”
“What?” you asked, chuckling. “What kind of question is that, Max? Of course you are! You are more than enough for me, love!”
"It's just that I thought...", she sighed. “Clance saw you. I saw you talking to that girl and I thought maybe you wanted to replace me...”
And then you kissed her, by surprise, understanding that this was probably the first time Max had been jealous, but finding it all very sweet. When you broke the kiss, you wiped her tears and hugged her. “I would never be able to trade you for anyone in this world, Max. You are and will always be the only woman I love.”
Maybelle Fox
"Don't talk to me."
“May? Maybelle, please tell me what happened.”
You tried to get to her, but Maybelle closed the bedroom door before you could try to reach her. As it was not locked, you pushed the handle and successfully opened it. Your eyes strayed to a sullen Maybelle sitting on the bed hugging a pillow.
“Why don't you go after her now, huh, (Y\N)?”, Maybelle whispered, a cute pout on her lips. "I'm sure she knows very well what happened."
You let a scornful chuckle escape. “I can't believe you're jealous of me, Maybelle Fox”, and then you sat down next to her and started kissing your girlfriend on the cheek. "I can't believe you turn into a sulky baby when you're jealous of a girl."
“I don't turn into a sulky baby!” she insisted, ducking. "And I'm not jealous of you, ever."
You smiled again and kissed her a few more times. “You're cute when you're jealous, honey. It's okay to admit...”
“FOR THE LAST TIME, (Y\N), I AM NOT JEALOUS!”
Jo de Luca
"Jo, you're going to end up breaking your bow and darts, honey."
“Should have thought of that before you hit on her, (Y\NN).”
You rolled your eyes, kissing Jo's cheek. “Baby, I didn't hit on her, it was the other way around. And she knew I had a girlfriend, yet she insisted.”
“Prove it to me, little fox,” she whispered, teasing you. “Prove it to me. She's coming over there..."
And then, you glanced at the girl who had flirted with you at the bar. She waved in your direction and was getting close when you just turned to Jo and kissed her hard, practically throwing yourself on top of her and getting in the way of playing. You couldn't see how the girl acted, but when Jo parted her lips from you, she turned and held out her middle finger to the girl.
“Suck it bitch, she's my girlfriend!” Jo yelled, turning to kiss you again. "God, I think I'm going to want to be jealous more often, just to see if you kiss me more easily, little fox..."
Lupe Garcia
"What's up baby?"
You rolled your eyes trying not to mind the teasing, but of course it didn't work because the man was still on your tail while Lupe was getting drinks at the bar.
It was a gay bar, what the hell was he doing there?
“How about we go over there in the corner, huh? Chatting away? Drink a little something? What do you think, huh, sweetie?” he whispered, getting closer and closer to you and making you uncomfortable. "I promise we'll be quick."
“Hey, idiot!”
Lupe's voice reached your ears, and the smell of her cigarette was present as she pulled you away. “What do you think you're doing with my girlfriend, man? Leave her alone.”
"I was just trying to make small talk, be polite..." he explained. “But I can include you in the conversation, Latina, with no ulterior motives. Unless you want."
You tried not to throw up as Lupe approached him, and when she threatened to punch him, you grabbed her arm. “Leave my girlfriend alone, you asshole! Get out of here now!”
He rolled his eyes and left as Lupe pulled you away, a cigarette in his mouth and a smile behind his teeth. When you were alone, she took the cigarette out of her mouth and threw it on the floor, kissing you hard.
“You are mine, (Y\N), I would do anything for you”, she whispered before you could say anything. It was always like that when Lupe got jealous, and you were getting used to it all...
Jess McCready
"Jess, tell me what's wrong, please!"
Silence reigned in the Peaches' room. You and Jess had just gotten out of practice and, being teammates, were facing the same dilemmas, this included people of all kinds looking at you all the time. All possible looks. That would always be uncomfortable. And Jess hated being uncomfortable.
"Jess, love, please, if you don't talk to me, I'll never know...", you tried to get her attention, but there was nothing. "Did that guy say something to you?"
"Ever heard of 'shut the hell up'?" she asked you, rudely. And so, you finally realized the problem in the situation.Jess was having a fit of jealousy.
You surprised her by jumping on top of her and knocking her onto the bed. You glued your lips to hers and didn't stop kissing her until Jess gasped and pulled you by the collar away from her mouth.
"What the fuck, (Y\N)?", she asked, her tone still rude.
"Nothing, I just really like it when you're jealous of me."
Esti Gonzales
It was the first time you and Esti had gone out politically on a date. Because of her time as a player, and because of her Spanish, of course, she didn't spend a lot of time with you.
She was crazy to be able to go out and get into the midst of Americans, and she was even crazier that she would do that to you, who was a few years older and highly responsible. In addition to being a girlfriend, you were an example for Esti, an example of the person she wanted to be when she matured a little more.
And your date promised to be pleasant, if it weren't for a guy getting up to walk over to your table and offer to buy you dinner, seeing you'd forgotten your money.
"I can pay for you and your daughter, no problem."
Wait a minute. Daughter?????
"Oh, actually, I would appreciate it, but...", you lost the words, in the face of embarrassment. The way he looked at you… God… was he really hitting on you?
Suddenly, Esti stood up, taking you by surprise.
"I'm not her daughter, you idiot! I'm her girlfriend! And I really think you should get the hell out of here now."
That was a clear demonstration that Esti Gonzales was jealous of you. And you thought it was cute, of course.
Shirley Cohen
"She insisted, said it was just a tantrum."
You smirked at Carson as you walked into the Peaches' bedroom, following your girlfriend, who was lying in bed looking the sickest in the world, as if she was suffering from some incurable disease.
"Shirl, baby, it's okay."
"YOU'RE NOT WITH THAT ANEMIC GIRL, ARE YOU?"
"Shirley," you grinned, knowing she was dying of jealousy and just didn't know how to handle it. "Remember I told you to live one thing at a time? No need to throw a tantrum because I went to talk to my best friend, honey."
"(Y\N)...", she sighed, sitting up in bed. "Oh God, I'm a total mess, aren't I?" she pouted. "I'm sorry honey, I don't know how to deal with all this avalanche of feelings for you. You know how it is, I've never dated a woman before..."
"I don't care," you replied, sitting down next to her. "You're just looking out for me, showing you care for me. But you didn't have to get sick because of me, Shirley."
'"She is your best friend?"
"Just best friend, I swear."
Shirley sighed again and hugged you. "I'm sorry, I promise I'll never be jealous again, or end up in a hospital bed..."
"Not if I'm here to take care of you, love."
