As I had promised in the past we will use the same format as the 1.8 wlw sleepover to help me write my drabbles! What will you do is mix and match a character or several with one or several of the following categories provided.

Plot: You can’t fall asleep and you want nothing more than to spend time with Jessica. (Fluff)

If I left out any content warnings or made any mistakes writing for a gender neutral reader, please let me know, so I can correct them.

I love Jessica so much, she’s just the best.

Jessica sat at her desk with her shoulders tensed, as they had been for the past hour, or had it been two hours? She wasn’t keeping track, she never did really. She’d been combing through security footage, trying to spot some detail that could help her close her most recent case. She wasn’t sure exactly what she was looking for, but she’d know it when she saw it. That is, if her eyes weren’t damaged beyond repair by then.

Her gaze was torn away from the mercilessly bright screen of her laptop by shuffling sounds in the kitchen. A moment later, you stepped into view across from her, holding a bottle of water. “Finish your project?” She asked, grateful to now have her attention on you, instead of the monitor that had been no help to her so far that night. “Yeah, a while ago”, you responded, but instead of sounding proud or relieved that your work was finished, you sounded just as defeated as you had when you had told Jessica that you were taking forever to finish it and you didn’t know why. Of course, she noticed this immediately.

“How come you didn’t go to sleep once it was finished?” She asked, although, the exhaustion evident in your voice and the fact that you were getting water to drink in the middle of the night, which you never did, had her pretty sure she already knew the answer to her question. “I tried. I can’t sleep.” you said, rolling your eyes slightly, partially because you were frustrated about being sleep-deprived, but mostly as a way to prevent yourself from looking away from her shyly.

You had had trouble sleeping before, and Jessica knew that when that happened, you would read or listen to music to lull yourself back to sleep, but this time around, you got out of bed and came to her. “Something on your mind, babe?” She asked, knowing that you wouldn’t admit what you were thinking about unless she encouraged you to. “Can I stay out here with you for a while?” You asked, trying to keep your voice even, to hide your embarrassment.

It wasn’t that you thought she would say no or be irritated, you just always thought that she had more important things to focus on, especially when it came to her work. You didn’t want to bother her with your problems. She could tell from the beginning that you felt that way, so she always tried show you through her actions that you weren’t, and would never be, a burden to her in any way. This was one of those times.

“Of course you can.” She finally got up out of her desk chair and walked over to the couch. “C’mere” she said, sitting down with her legs crisscrossed and her laptop resting on them. “Are you sure I won’t be distracting you?” You asked, although you wanted nothing more than to be next to her. “You won’t be, come on”, she said gently. You walked over to her and put down the bottle of water that you hadn’t actually opened, then sat down beside her and rested your head against her shoulder, trying to relax, while she continued working on her computer.

You weren’t sure how much time had passed before your exhaustion turned into a sort of peaceful haze, as you nestled yourself close to Jessica. You looked up at her, and even though your mind was becoming cloudy as your body finally felt able to rest, you became fully focused on Jessica: her beautiful, wide eyes, the way her long, raven hair was slightly messy, and framing her face perfectly, the way her hoodie had fallen to one side, highlighting her shoulder and collarbone. God, she looked gorgeous. She always did. You eyes drifted from her shoulder, up to her neck, then to her jawline, and finally to her lips.

“Jess?” You mumbled, sure that she could feel you looking at her. “Hmm?” She answered. “Can I kiss you?” When Jessica heard you, she looked away from her laptop once again, to meet your eyes, as you gazed at her with so much affection, that she was, at that moment, sure she was absolutely in love with you. She could see on your face that you felt the same way about her. She raised her eyebrows and smirked teasingly. “Please?” you said, and you practically melted when her smirk became a grin and she leaned towards you, pressing her lips to yours softly.

When your lips were no longer on hers, you automatically kissed her again, this time following the path that your eyes had traced just moments before. You kissed her shoulder, her collarbone, her neck and her jawline, before you playfully nipped at her ear, smiling. “Baby,” she said, laughing slightly, “I thought you were tired”. “I am,” you replied quietly. “You’re just so beautiful”, your lips were on her neck once again, “and amazing, and I love you so much”. She smiled again, rolling her eyes at your sleepy antics. “I love you too, now lie down and get some rest”.

A Good Old Fashioned Bar Fight

Jessica Jones X Gender neutral! Reader

A/n: based on a request from @dreamerrealm , Sorry it took so long.

Jessica’s elbows braced on the sticky mahogany counter, as she rose the whiskey to her lips. ‘Bad morning?’ Luke questioned as he filled her glass with the golden liquid. The clock on the wall ticked on, barely past the right angle of nine, the morning sun streaming in through the slate blinds. A slow nod was the only response the man received, letting out a sigh he proceeded around the bar cleaning as last nights crowd stumbled out the door and into the idle taxis outside.

The bell atop the battered birch door frame welcomed the friendly smile that sauntered through the door, ‘Lukey boy, how is my favourite business owner?’. The tall man chuckled before responding, ‘Happy to see you are still alive, y/n.’

At this remark Jessica couldn't help but let herself observe the new occupant of the establishment, they carried themselves in a way that did everything but out-right juxtapose the suggestion of them being a reckless person.

‘Yeah well trying not to let the stab wounds last.’

Shaking his head at the figure in front of him Luke reached for a glass, attempting to get them to stay longer so that they could at least go ten minutes without grazing their knuckles and littering the sidewalk with the lowlife’s blood. It wasn’t that he thought y/n was in danger, simply that they were cocky, occasionally that angered some more self-righteous criminals.

The room was quiet, the two clientele sipping from their glasses as Luke busied himself with receipts and forms.

The bell of the door was obscured by the loud chattering that accompanied the muddy footprints tracked over that stained floorboards. ‘Cage, you made a big mistake stealing from us.’

Whipping their heads around, they spoke in natural unison, ‘Luke you know these Assholes?’ both pairs of eyes flicked to each other before returning to glare towards those standing maliciously under the door frame. The cracking of their knuckles rang through the ears of those who stood opposing the three vigilantes.

Any onlooker may have been to busy fleeing or may have found their eyes locked on the blows landing within the bar. Yet both y/n and Luke had noticed how the raven haired woman, who fought but their side let her eyes linger on y/n’s features, facial and otherwise. This realisation caused a blush to grace Y/n’s features and a smirk to grow on Luke's lips.

Y/n was not blind to the knowledge of how ‘Bad-ass’ as Claire once said, they were. And being completely honest, Y/n enjoyed the eyes that traced their figure and found it shame upon finding all of their opponents lying on the sticky floor.

Luke was the first to notice the jagged top half of a bottle sticking out of Jessica’s side, with no delay, upon following his eyes, Jessica ripped the glass from her body. Thankfully, there was only a small amount of blood flowing from the wound due to presumably her faster than most healing. However this did not stop Y/n from rushing to the woman’s side, offering assistance. They had found themselves inferring early on that she was indeed the, super strengthened lady that the rumours had mentioned, yet still worried for her safety.

Jessica felt intrigued by the powered stranger, yet her willingness to suppress any weakness made that impossible, making her dismiss them with a freezing “I’m fine”.

Luke watched as y/n’s shoulders and confidence fell and they turned away, trudging back to the bar to finish off their drink, now weak after the ice cubes had shrunken. Luke could feel the firework between them just waiting for the spark and hoped that Jessica could fight her nature to convey the feelings he could see in her eyes.

All of his hoping seemed futile as Jessica returned to her seat to grasp her jacket, standing straight eyes flickering to y/n who examined the purple bruises forming under their skin.

Y/n was nursing the fresh glass that Luke had slid into their view with a smile when a slightly scrunched napkin fell into view, a messily written message catching their eye.

“Sorry for being a dick, See you here Friday at seven?”

By the time they had turned she was gone, looking to Luke, who only scoffed, y/n smiled to themselves. Looking forward to returning to the scene of the crime, so to speak.

Summary: Jessica helps you get through an overwhelming few weeks by going with you to Manhattan Bridge. (Fluff)

If I left out any content warnings or made any mistakes writing for a gender neutral reader, please let me know, so I can correct them.

Things just seemed to keep going wrong for weeks. Your work, your sleep, your mind, your body, it all seemed to be working against you. You were exhausted, physically, mentally and emotionally, and now you were standing at the kitchen counter in Jessica’s apartment, staring at the cabinets in front of you, yet barely seeing them. All you were really aware of was the fact that there were tears in your eyes and, for some reason, you couldn’t, you wouldn’t, let them leave your eyes.

“Hey”

You jumped, startled out of your jumble of thoughts by Jessica, who was now standing behind you, still wearing her leather jacket and scarf that she had left the apartment in earlier that day.

“Hey, how’s the case going?” You asked, attempting to keep your voice even and mentally swearing when you realized that you couldn’t. “Slow” she replied, “What’s the matter?”

“Nothing, I’m fine.” you said, knowing she was completely unconvinced.

“You’re having a staring contest with the counter. What’s going on?”

She had moved to stand next to you and she dipped her head a bit to meet your eyes. You looked up from the counter and when she noticed the tears in your eyes, she frowned. Her eyes narrowed slightly as concern took over her features. “Are you hurt?” she asked, immediately looking you over for injuries.

You could feel how protective she became in that moment. She wanted to help you and make sure you were okay, but you didn’t feel okay at all. Having her attention on you somehow intensified everything you were feeling. The tears finally dripped down your face and you could’ve sworn you couldn’t breathe.

You tried to answer her question anyway: “I’m not hurt. It’s- I don’t know Jess. It’s not a big deal.”

“You’re crying.” she replied, “You don’t have to talk about whatever it is, but I know there’s something.”

“There’s more than one thing, I mean, these past few weeks have just been- I’m sorry- I-“.

At that point, the rest of your words got buried under sobs. Your shoulders shook and your face burned from tears and frustration.

Jessica wrapped her arms around you without hesitation and you leaned against her, wrapping your arms around her waist. She didn’t ask you to say anything, she just held you and let you cry.

“I’ve got you, alright? I’ve got you”. She mumbled, rubbing her hand up and down your back. When you stopped crying, you took deep breaths to try and calm yourself down. Jessica didn’t pull away until you were ready and when she did, she said, “You don’t have to apologize babe.”

You smiled sadly at her, tired and a bit embarrassed, but she smiled back at you encouragingly. You looked at her for a moment and out of nowhere, a quiet laugh slipped out of your lips. She had this way of helping you feel safe just by being around you.

“You wanna stay here for the rest of the day?” she asked softly, waiting patiently for you to answer.

“I thought I did, but now I’m not sure.”

Jess thought for a moment, then she said, “If you want, we can go somewhere I think you’ll like, especially the view”.

You remembered then that she would always notice you admiring the city whenever you went anywhere together. Your smile grew as you realized you already had an idea of where she was talking about.

“Okay, yeah, let’s go”.

You made your way through New York with Jessica’s hand in yours and you soon knew that you were right about the place the two of you were going. As you stood on Manhattan Bridge together, you turned to Jess and asked, “Have you been to the top? I mean, the very top?”

She grinned and said, “Yeah, but trust me, this is high enough.”

You just laughed in response.

The clouds seemed to be melting into the pale, greyish-blue of the sky, and something about the way the buildings seemed to go on and on helped you feel at peace. It was gorgeous.

Looking at the city from the bridge felt like a reminder: You were alive, you were in the world, and you would be okay. Sometimes you didn’t feel that way, and you knew there would be times in the future that you would once again feel the way you’d felt in the kitchen, but it wouldn’t last. Once you were honest about your feelings and you gave yourself time, you would be able to look at New York with the woman you love, and you would be okay.

You felt Jessica wrap her arms around you and rest her chin on your shoulder as she stood behind you. That, the view and the fact that there was nobody else standing on the bridge at that time, made you feel like you were in a corner of the world that was meant just for you.

“I never wanna be anywhere else.” you said, leaning against Jessica and trying to make sure you saw every detail of the city.

“Well, it would probably make more sense to stay somewhere that has food, but it’s fine here too”. Jess said. You could feel a smirk on her face as she pressed a kiss to the side of your neck.

You rolled your eyes and grinned, turning your head to face her as your lips met.

“I love it here.” you said, hearing a smile in your voice as you spoke.

“I thought you might.” she replied, grateful that you let her help you through a difficult moment. She reminded herself then that she would always try her best to help you whenever you let her, because she loved you, and you loved her, and you would protect each other however you could.
