Sending this in on nations women’s day yay, and in honors of that, WOMEN IN STARDEW VALLEY ARE INTERESTING. Y’ALL IUST DON’T CARE ENOUGH TO LOOK. Hayley has one of the best character arcs in the game but, oh no, she’s “mean” but Shane’s just fine!! (not a dig on Shane, love him, just some of his fans) Maru can be funny asf if you take the time to READ HER DIALOG.
Jodi is one of my favorite characters by far. She loves her sons and husband but also wishes she had more freedom in her life. She’s just a kind soul who cares about her family, just wishes she could’ve had it a different way. Robin has an up and down relationship with her husband which results in a complicated one with her son. IT’S AN INTERESTING DYNAMIC. SHE IS NOT BORING BECAUSE SHE IS A WIFE AND MOTHER.
Penny has her whole Pam thing and not to mention, lots of quirks of her own. Like being bad at cooking which results in some really funny scenes. While I am not a fan of her, Caroline, has interesting family dynamics. And on that topic Abigail is more than a “manic pixie girl” god forbid a woman be into the occult. Again, she has really interesting dynamics. Even though her family dynamics are tense, she still says “I’m wearing our matching family sweater under my coat… Don’t tell Dad!” or something like that. She clearly still loves her family despite the ups complications. And she has a whole friend circle with Sam and Sebastian.
Emily is amazing. She has so many interest and quirks. And her relationship with her filled with so much thought. They’re so different, they argue and tease each other, but they love each other. They are all they have. Leah has a whole life before Pelican Town. She has dreams, hopes, aspirations, messy ex’s. Listen to me and LISTEN TO ME CLOSE. JUST BECAUSE A WOMEN HAS ROMANCE IN HER LIFE. DOES NOT MAKE HER BORING.
And then you got sweet granny Evelyn. Oh my Yoba, I love this woman so much. She loves her husband and grandson so much. Always tending to plants, making cookies for everyone. I would die for this woman. And then, on the opposite end, Jas. She is such a little sweet heart who deserved so much better in life. Her dynamic with Shane is so special. And her friendship with Vincent in Leo. Ugh. There is so much to this kid and she gets so much shit for being “creepy” THATS A CHILD.
Let’s move onto her god-aunt (?) Marnie. I will say it again and I will say it again loudly. JUST BECAUSE A WOMAN HAS ROMANCE IN HER LIFE DOES NOT MAKE HER BORING. Her relationship with Lewis is such an interesting part to the valley that adds so much drama and depth to these characters. The fact she takes Shane and Jas in, the fact she cares and worry’s so much for Shane. The way she cares for her animals.. ugh. I love her.
Moving onto our out of town girlies, we got Sandy and Birdy. Sandy is such a mystery, I love her. I do wish we got to know more about her, but her mystery is part of her charm. She’s just so fun to talk to. I wish I had more to say but unfortunately I only have around 5 hearts with her due to not going to the desert to much. And then Birdy… Her storyline is so tragic. I really wished we got to behind her. Her decision to watch over her husband’s bones is so UGH. No one should force her to move on. She has made her choice and it’s powerful.
And I think I’ve covered all Stardew woman. So maybe take from this rant… to read dialog. Because these woman are strong, flawed, and amazing.

Just saw that DT is going to participate in The Assembly Michael Sheen did last year, and I'm kinda terrified lol. And surprised. Michael must be one hell of a storyteller to convince DT to go for it.
Like, it seems like soooo much something he wouldn't really enjoy. (I'm aware I don't actually know him but bear with me) like it wouldn't be fun even in the 'it was super hard but worth it in the end, I've grown as a person' kind of way. I'm actually gonna be real glad to be proven wrong if he's really gonna thrive on this. But so far, from what I've seen of him during interviews and panels, he's really good at deflecting awkward questions, not at answering them. And here this won't do the trick, you gotta be honest here, not to deflect - it defeats the purpose otherwise. But from all I've seen he, like, shrivels when he's made to share things he doesn't want to share, and not in a fun way...
Michael Sheen is much more of a sharing kind in this aspect, they're like the opposite in this, so I can see how Michael would find this experience fulfilling and rewarding. But ok, we'll see and I'll be happy to be proven not as knowledgeable in the inner workings of DT's psyche department as I thought I was...
i read the synopsis for the show (and the announcement for it) and it seems like it was pretty positive and like i cant imagine it'll be too terrible ?? there's also the case of like, he could sort of deflect from answering the question by answering it in a broader way. like that time when he was asked about his own personal gender expression at a con and he talked more about supporting trans people as an ally

There is something pretty irksome about the fact that, when the Thirteenth Doctors final scene was recently nominated for an award, the official Doctor Who Instagram account celebrated by... showing a picture of David Tennant and only referring to him in the caption. Not even a mention of Jodie Whittaker and her incarnation that meant so much to so many people. *sigh*

Thank you for asking me. This is going to be a lot. But I’d like you to direct anyone who ever tells you that The Little Mermaid is a queer fairy tale to this post, please.
First off, I’m going to say: it doesn’t really matter what you think the author or creators of the story wanted to say. What matters is what their story actually said. That means you have to have “in-text” support for whatever you think the story is about. The only reason to take the author’s “intended meaning” into consideration is the very-fine-line of “the word or element that the author used during their own time period may have changed during my time period. So to find out what they said, I have to translate.” It’s like media-literacy-semantic-range.
Once you figure out what the story said, you can decide if what was said lined up with reality or not.
Now.
You Can Argue Either Interpretation
Can you come up with in-text support for the idea that The Little Mermaid is about transgenderism, LGBTQ+ celebration, etc.?
Yes. You can. Because she changes her tail for legs, wants to be part of something she’s not, feels out of place in her own world, etc.
But. You can also find in-text arguments for the Christian (inherently anti-LGBTQ+-affirming) worldview in The Little Mermaid.
So then the question becomes: which one is the “correct” interpretation? They can’t both be correct, because they’re opposites.
This is a hard question to answer, but I think it becomes easier when you accept what’s true.
What’s true is, God created human beings to love Him and be loved by Him. They rejected that and fell out of the world they were intended for. Now they’re forever longing to love and be loved, to be back in that world of love, but they look for it in all the wrong ways.
Guess what? That reality-based longing unfortunately has a lot of parallels with the twisted-lie-version of longing that comes with identifying as LGBTQ+.
That’s kind of how Satan works. He perverts anything that might lead to truth.
So, the longing would be, “I don’t feel at home in this body; I feel like I’m meant for something else.” The true Christian answer would be: “That’s because you’re Fallen, and you need to be Reborn. Give up your Self for Love and with Love, your True Self will be given to you.” But the LGBTQ+-perversion answer would be: “That’s because you’re born in the wrong body/cultural norm, so everything outside should align with what you feel inside. Everything around you should give itself up to what you decide is your True Self.”
See how close, but not quite, they sound? They’re actually total opposites. One is about Self-Sacrifice, and submission to Love as something higher and better than what’s inside you. The other is all about making everything outside of you sacrifice to your Self. One’s self-focused, the other is self-sacrificing. But they can look very similar, because they stem from the same “something is out-of-place with me” longing. That longing only has one true answer, though.
Truth is, Disney’s The Little Mermaid was made by a large group of storytellers. Not just Howard Ashman (who did not write it.) Some of them were Christians. (Mark Henn, Glen Keane, and Jodi Benson, to name the few who made up Ariel as a character.) Some of them were decidedly not. (Howard Ashman, for one, who was an influential songwriter, not the writer. But the majority did not claim faith in Christ.)
So. In the storyteller, there are two competing answers to the Longing question that the premise of The Little Mermaid contains. A majority come from a worldview of Self-Focus. But a few come from a worldview of Self-Sacrifice. And in Hans Christian Andersen, who did feel homosexual longing as part of the Fallen Man Longing, and who also claimed Christ, the same two competing answers would’ve been duking it out. Is the Longing satisfied by Self-Focus? Or is it satisfied by Self-Sacrifice?
That’s the question.
Now let’s talk about which one the story (stories) actually support.
1. In Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid:”
Just going to try and do this one quickly.
The LM character longs for love, but that love is not forbidden by society or any religious allegory. It’s just assumed to be impossible, because the humans can’t love a species with tails. If this were an LGBTQ+ allegory, the human would love the tail-bearing mermaid back, and the mermaid would love him, but they’d each suppress that love because of what their societies tell them. Or, the mermaid would love the human, but his societally-normative predisposition against tails would be his direct reason for not loving her.
The prince does not love the LM back. It’s not because she’s a mermaid (which would be the allegory for the LGBTQ+ traits.) In fact, all the qualities she retains from being a mermaid (her grace, her blue-which-represents-the-sea eyes) are what he does like the most about her, and everyone in his society likes the most about her. (Which, in the LGBTQ+ allegory, they should despise.) He actually never finds out she even is a mermaid, and only fails to love her because she is incomplete. (In the LGBTQ+ allegory, it would make sense for him to fail to love her because of her mermaid traits, or love her but suppress that love. He does neither.)
The LM’s motives are not driven by a desire to be with the Prince, alone. Ever. (Romantic love and a desire to be romantically loved is definitely a motivation; it is never the only one, and it is not the chief one. This statement is supported by the fact that it is not gratification of a desire for romantic love which the heroine receives in the end.) Therefore, every sacrifice she makes is not made on the altar of Romantic Love or Personally-Chosen-Identity Fulfillment. (Which is what an LGBTQ+ allegory would lend itself to.) Instead, every sacrifice she makes is made on the altar of Self-Sacrifical Love (not necessarily romantic or requited) and more importantly, on the altar of Eternal Life. Let’s look at how in the below bulletpoints:
The LM always exhibits a desire to be a part of a world specifically above her own. So her Self, what she feels inside, her own experiences and inner world, are not her standard of beauty or truth. (They are for the LGBTQ+-affirming character.) She doesn’t sacrifice to them. Here’s how: a) The other sisters’ gardens are in the shapes of sea-life, parts of their own world, but hers, even before meeting the Prince, is in the shape of the Sun and around a statue of a human: a world outside and above her Self. b) she’s constantly thinking about and obsessing over it long after her sisters have seen it and stopped thinking about a world outside and above their Self. (She’s also specifically characterized as constantly reaching above.) c) She sacrifices for someone outside her Self when, specifically in spite of the fact that doing so could get her “smashed” by the shipwreck, she saves the Prince with no thought of preserving her Self. d) She specifically says that what she wants is to have a human soul and go above the stars like humans do, which is Eternal Life, (Christian) and from then on her motivation is never mentioned without that. e) She sacrifices her voice, her tail, and her comfort and feeling-good for the sake of Eternal Life and the Prince. f) She could attempt to do something to stop the wedding or vent her despair, but she won’t even fail to celebrate at the Prince’s wedding and her own impending death, completely regardless of Self. g) She is offered the ability to save her Self and avenge her Self on the Prince who owes his life to her, but instead she willingly throws her Self away and thereby gains what she’s been actually wanting: Eternal Life. h) She is transformed from a creature who’s life is spent obsessing over their one inherent natural realm to a creature who’s glorification is in sacrificing the Self for others.
The LM is not the only character who self-sacrifices and is rewarded for it, rather than a focus on her own Self (feelings.) Her sisters sacrifice their beautiful hair for a chance at saving her. The Prince’s first love, a girl from a monastery, sacrifices what could be a life as a Princess by remaining committed to the church. Speaking of commitment to the church, the Prince’s eventual Wife is preferred by the Prince because she completed being trained and raised in “truth and purity” in the Church. The children alluded to by the Daughters of the Air in the conclusion are able to determine the Daughters of the Air’s fate by whether or not they act “good” (obeying rules and delighting parents, which is Self-Sacrificial) or “naughty” (pleasing the Self alone.)
In conclusion: The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen answers the Longing Question with Self-Sacrifice. It is not about homosexuality or repressed sexual desire or longing to be accepted into society. It is about a longing for Eternal Life, and the Self-Sacrifice and rejection of Self it takes to get there. Never is the LM character given what she wants by asking everything around her to conform to her own perceived Identity, which is what an LGBTQ+ allegory would do.
Now for the big one.
2. In Disney’s “The Little Mermaid”
Ariel’s longing mirrors the longing of the original Little Mermaid in that she’s always reaching up-and-out for a world Above and Outside of her Self. Glen Keane, lead animator and character designer for Ariel, is a Christian and specifically likened her reaching for the sun to his experience, before converting to Christianity, “longing to be part of a world of light and love that I couldn’t reach on my own.”
Ariel gives up her legs and life with her family the wrong way. She thinks they will never understand her after her dad blows up her collection, so as a “last resort,” she’s taking matters into her own hands. If the world she’s in won’t conform to her idea of her Self, she’ll re-shape her body and circumstances to match that idea of Self. But that’s portrayed as the wrong way to do it. The right way is only achieved when she realizes that her Father the King does understand her and will give her her True Self—after the gauntlet of “giving your Self Up” and “Sacrificial Love” have been passed through.
Ariel’s way of trying to conform her circumstances and body to what her Self wants winds up nearly getting her killed, fairly, in a deal she made with what amounts to the Devil. But she’s saved from that by the Self-Sacrifice of her Father the King. Who literally writes his name in place of hers and takes her punishment for trying to make everything conform to her Self. Like Christ on the Cross.
Eric throws himself into danger repeatedly to save Ariel. Self-Sacrifice. And it is that Self-Sacrificial love that finally convinces Triton that what they have is real love, not a teenage delusion or obsession. And that’s what gives Ariel her legs the right way.
Ariel doesn’t want to be with Eric only because she’s attracted to him, or because he’s human (which is the “forbidden” and therefore LGBTQ+-allegory-aspect of his character.) She wants to be with him because he’s a dreamer like her. They parallel her introduction, looking out over the mast of a shipwreck at a ship, to his introduction, looking out over a ship’s edge at the ocean. They specifically have her berated by a father-figure for her dreams, which ends in tears and feeling misunderstood—and then specifically show her listening as he’s berated by a father figure (Grimsby) for his dreams, but instead of ending in tears he sticks to his dreams. Then it pans to show Ariel’s adoring face while she’s listening. She relates to him. She wants to be with him, not purely as an allegory for wanting something which is forbidden by society, but as an allegory for a love that understands and has something to gift to the other person. It is not Self-Satisfying or Self-Focused.
More to that point—Eric is looked on as a forbidden love because Triton thinks humans are barbarians. What are barbarians? They’re inherently selfish. They brutalize whatever they come into contact with for the pleasure of it. It’s not until he learns that Eric is Self-Sacrificing that he believes humans can love and be worth Ariel’s love. Eric is a forbidden love because he’s thought of as Obsessed with Self, and he’s accepted because he’s actually Self-Sacrificial. He is not Forbidden by society because of norms or religious policy or a culture-based loathing of the supposed True Nature, which would be the LGBTQ+-affirming idea of it.
All of this is combined to answer the Longing Question with Self-Sacrifice, not the pursuit of the Self.
The LGBTQ+, and especially transgender, worldview all demand that everything about reality bend itself to their idea of Self, which is inherently selfish. Selfishness has its opposite in self-sacrifice.
Therefore, it doesn’t matter if Howard Ashman was writing the songs. It doesn’t matter if Hans Christian Andersen experienced or even indulged in homosexual attraction. It doesn’t even matter that Ariel and the LM character experience longing and a feeling of being out-of-place. What matters is what the story answers that longing with. What matters is what it says.
It’s easy to get it twisted because in the Christian worldview and in the LGBTQ+-affirming worldview, there are elements of:
Feel out-of-place and long for satisfaction
Give up something about your “self” to become your “true self.”
Be transformed.
It’s just that in the Christian worldview, and in the Christian answer, the answer is not in your “self.” It’s in the God who designed you and loves you, and only because of Him, taking the punishment for selfishness in your place, and giving you the ability to abandon your old Self, that you can be transformed.
And in-text, the Christian worldview, the Christian answer, won out.
Those are my thoughts, thanks for asking, @scribblermerlin.

Ariel already loved the human world long before meeting Eric (you don’t get a collection like hers overnight) and when she finally got a chance to explore it, she took it.
Ursula made it more about Eric than Ariel ever did.

I've been spending a lot of time reading about older queer media where non-queer people, or queer people who were not out at the time, received horrible harassment and abuse for their portrayal of queer characters. For example, Billy Crystal and the homophobic backlash he received for portraying the gay character Jodie Dallas on the show Soap.
All this to say, this weird trend in shitty online queer discourse of "you aren't actually experiencing [xyz kind of bigotry] unless you are personally a member of [xyz] identity" is ridiculous. Bigots don't care if they're hitting an accurate target when they're firing to hurt as many people as possible. Anti-queer bigots don't care what personal identity labels their targets use, they just want to stamp out as many queers and queer allies as humanly possible.
The idea of "mistargeted" bigotry, or one type of queer person somehow being "exempt" from some other form of queerphobia, is asinine. If someone gets targeted in a hate crime, it doesn't actually matter if they're a member of that minority, because they still got assaulted.
Your average bigot doesn't care what labels you put in your social media bio, and they're not going to ask what kind of trans you are before they try to kill you.

Wish World / The Reality War

Whoa boy kinda nice to visit these episodes late and let the opinion discourse fly. Terrible writing, just long stretches of exposition and turning attention to it meta wise does not forgive it. The Rani is a bit moustache twirling but doesn’t really get the time to shine here. Our token trans and disabled people return to not add anything to the story. Kate manages to mention her father again, gets people to shoot their complicated named guns and have a forced romance with a younger soldier. Way too many babies in this episode, I’m unsure which audience you’re pandering to when this has never been what people wanted especially to introduce the idea so late. Poppy has a cute face but for the Doctor and Belinda to dedicate themselves entirely to saving someone who never existed is strange. They manage to cure the sexist by solving his daddy issues, but not sure they needed that redemption instead of punishment and is not realistic. The bone beasts looked great but didn’t quite understand the point of them. Omegas return was majorly disappointing, you don’t want another big monster you want an equal to the Doctor - a time lord! Mel gets her original perm back but some of the lines are straight from the panto where she became more famous. So Susan was absolutely pointless right haha. Not satisfied with cramming a new character every 5 min, they also bring back the star from the Christmas special along with the lovely hotelier who realises that bloke she spent a year hanging out with is actually gay. She then proceeds to get immediately knocked up - there really is a bad feminist message here that a woman’s main job is babies. Rogue films a line in his hotel roomthat doesn’t mean anything. Way too many clips of old episodes this series. Susan Twist is not much of a good actor now she’s not a baddie. Ruby knowing the real world is not overly explained but she was somehow more well rounded character in total. Belinda’s entire character arc changes in an instant from someone who doesn’t consent to being with the Doctor to suddenly being ok with having his child, such a waste and no time to develop this series. Jodie comes back because Russell must’ve been desperate to write her. She was lovely to see, even if so soon and trying to really cement that yes she was gay. I’m not actually too mad about Rose coming back as the Doctor (maybe?) but I really do hope it’s for more of an ongoing series than a one off but might be so - there’s just way too many extra Docs now.
RTD’s return was much anticipated and whilst there was some shining diamonds of ideas, it really was a disappointment on every level. By focusing so much on the anti woke haters, he actually managed to alienate the fans who want a bit of escapism with a splash of pro queer politics. This is not the clean slate reboot that was promised with the latest ep especially relying on decades of prior knowledge. I totally get Ncuti wanting to go off and do bigger and better things because he really is an incredible talent to see and he thrived in such a short time. He was somewhat underdeveloped, similar to Jodie, we never saw the true character there with the writing, substituting regular tears for meaning. I will miss him and his amazing clothing.
OK, now ranking this series best to worst: Lux, The Interstellar Song Contest, The Robot Revolution, The Story & the Engine, The Well, Wish World / The Reality War, Lucky Day. And finally companions (not based solely on this finale haha): Belinda Chandra, Ruby Sunday

A Morning Cup of Coffee
You’ve never been a morning person, but now, with the farm, you’ve been forced to, but Harvey always makes those mornings more manageable. With his warm smile and hot coffee ready for you as soon as you're prepared to grace him with your presence in the clinic, you’ve decided to give him a little extra thanks for such special mornings.
Tumblr media
The alarm on your bedside table rang out through your room, giving you a headache as soon as your head lifted off its pillow. You grumble out a curse as you turn the damned thing off. You realize that you’re already late to feed your chickens and rush out of bed, still in your pajamas, to your coop to fill their feeder. Your most enormous brood, Henretta, was the most displeased at your tardiness, giving you a slight peck to the hand as you collected the eggs for the day.
With an annoyed expression, you continued to finish up the necessary farm work for the morning, deciding that today was just one of those days where you’d be back in bed watching Netflix by 4 pm. But before you gave up on your morning, you decided to visit your lovely doctor. Who lifted your spirits with his delectable coffee creamer he kept just for you. You couldn’t understand his preference for black coffee but couldn’t argue if he kept your favorite in his fridge.
After setting the timers for your Mayo machines, you decide it might be better to be dressed when you go into town. You quickly change into something more presentable than your Junimo pajama set. While you’re sure Harvey would have no complaints about your attire even if you had worn a trashcan lid for a hat, you don’t want Jodi or Caroline spreading rumors about your disheveled state. You have already learned your lesson about those two.
As you head out the door in what you had reasoned to be an okay outfit, you chuckled slightly at the memory of Jodi and Caroline being so worried about you when you had gone to Pierre’s in your sweatpants and hoodie. They had thought you had gotten some illness and nearly dragged you to the clinic when you assured them you were okay and didn’t feel like getting into your overalls that morning to do your farm work. With all the commotion outside the clinic, Harvey had overheard and decided to see what was happening. When he heard what the discourse was about from Jodi and Caroline, he sided with them and demanded to take your temperature. When he had gotten you back to the clinic without them, he told you not to worry about them and offered to make you a coffee upstairs since you looked tired. That’s when you found out he liked his coffee plain black, and you couldn’t be more thankful for such noisy neighbors.
You finally reach the clinic doors. You check your watch, and it says 10:30 am. Harvey should be in the front clinic office now; he probably saw you coming from the windows. He had perhaps made the coffee for you by now, the unique mug he had bought for you when you spotted it on a trip to Zuzu City, the one only you could use. He had probably already added the exact amount of creamer and sugar you love every time. He’ll do this for you every time, like clockwork. Knowing your mornings are never complete until you’re drinking your coffee with him, talking about how horrible it is to wake up early and walk so far to get here.
A little bell chimes above you as you walk through the doors. The bright fluorescent lighting of the clinic waiting room does nothing to help your headache from waking up. The only comfort you seem to receive in your seconds of peril while your eyes adjust is your dear doctor's deep, joyous chuckle.
“You will never get used to those lights, will you?” He continues to laugh while you rub your eyes while they sting. You find it in yourself to laugh with him. I mean, with a laugh like that, how could you not?
“No, your lights are specifically designed to blast anyone walking through this door. Is it a visitor deterrent?” Your eyes finally acclimate to the light's brightness, and you can look at your doctor well. His dark brown curls frame his cute face, oversized glasses, how they sit perfectly on the slope of his nose, and the tint on his cheeks when he makes direct eye contact with you. And you notice your mug waiting on the counter with small amounts of steam coming from the top.
“No, they’re not visitor deterrents, but they’re designed to let you see better, especially for eye exams. But, enough of the doctor talk; you want your coffee?” He slides the mug in your direction, and you take it happily, your hands brushing his slightly as you take it. You hear him take a breath as he quickly grabs his coffee. You can clearly see the blush creeping above his collared shirt in this light.
“You know, Harv, you didn’t have to memorize my favorite coffee,” You give him a look while you sip your coffee before you continue, “But you did, and for that, I thank you deeply; I think you’re slowly making me a morning person.”
“It’s only coffee, Y/n. I like these mornings with you, so if that means keeping a disgustingly high-calorie creamer in my fridge, so be it.” He pauses to continue sipping his black coffee. Besides, what else would I do in the mornings, getting work done?” You go to slap his arm as he continues to laugh at his jokes. But he knows he is right. These mornings together had become a sort of ritual. You’d pray to Yoba for them to never stop, to only blossom into something you could keep forever as the two of you continue drinking your coffee and chatting about things that never mattered. You’d also pray that he had done the same.
“It’s not just the coffee; you know it, Harv.”
“I know”
“It never was, was it?” He doesn’t look at you; he stares into the mug you had bought for him in that run-down market you two had gone to after going to the aerospace museum in Zuzu for his birthday. He told you that you didn’t need to spend more money on him, that the evening alone was enough, but you insisted that you both needed unique mugs.
“No, it was for you.” When he finally looks back at you, he looks like a complete blushing mess. His expression could only be described as adoring. The intensity behind his eyes as the love he felt for you stared you down sent a chill down your spine. “I- I wanted to do this right, bouquet and all, b-but now it seems better, Y/n I love you. I love making your coffee in the mornings and that you come in daily to keep me company. I love how your h/c glows in the light, and you can never seem to wake up on time. Could you find it in yourself to love an old doctor like me? Because simply knowing you isn’t enough; I want to know you first thing in the morning and before bed. If you keep your socks on or off, how to wake you gently and keep you happy.”
“Harvey, I want all of that; I want you.” You round the counter quickly and rush to his arms. He holds you gently at first, then his hands from your back to your hair and waist. He keeps you close as his head dips into your neck, taking a deep breath. If this is how they continue, you have become a morning person.
He releases you from the crushing hug, but not before slowly planting his lips onto yours. The feeling of soft skin in contrast to his bristling mustache almost made you giggle from the tickling feeling, but as you both continued to deepen the kiss, his hand on your waist began to travel down your lower back, grabbing a handful of your ass. As you pulled back to gasp, Harvey aimed at your neck, leaving wet kisses in his wake. You continued to gasp and whimper at the contact, writhing from the attention.
“You’re so wound up, I think I should prescribe you a massage. I can do it personally if you’d like?” You nod furiously, your mouth suddenly becoming dry as you try to think of words you could helplessly use to plead for Harvey. He turns you towards the clinic hallway, ushering you into his office. He turns you around again, leading you now backward, pushing you by your hip towards the exam table. Once flush against the table, he lifts you to sit on top of the exam bed. He quickly kisses you before gently pulling apart and giving you space; you give him a confused look before he continues, “I did say this was a massage, did I not?” You provide a disappointed look after he continues, “Do be a good patient by removing your clothing, please. I cannot get a good look at the,“ he pauses to clear his throat, “muscles in need of care, with them on.”
You lift your shirt above your arms, exposing your f/c bra to the cold clinic air. You can feel goosebumps rising as Harvey looks over your exposed skin. He stares in absolute awe before quickly shaking himself out of whatever thought that held him captive. Kissing you deeply, letting his hands roam your skin, the smooth, supple skin that his touch had warmed. You leaned into him, hoping that he would continue to hold you. He would never stop now that you had let him; he would find any opportunity to do so in the future.
He unclasped the backing of your lacy bra, sliding the garment off of your arms down onto the clinic floor. As your nipples rise to the temperature of the chilly clinic, Harvey wastes no time to take one into his mouth and cover the other in his large hand. Swirling his tongue around your areola, you jerk into his touch, quickly becoming aroused by his skilled tongue. You lean into his touch, needing one hand to keep you stable on the exam bed, and you use the other to tangle itself in his curly hair. You give a slight tug when he gives your nipple a small bite. He moans in response and moves to your other tit, wanting to give them both equal attention.
However, long after Harvey felt like adequate attention to your breast was up, he gently pushed you down on the exam bed. Once you had laid down comfortably on the table, Harvey continued his assault of hot kisses along your body. Starting from your breast, leading down your ribs and stomach, and heading towards the hemline of your pants. He looked up for your permission before continuing to pull your pants down your legs while continuing his kisses along your thighs and calves. When he finally gets your pants off, he continues his gentle kisses while his hands start to kneed at the plush parts of your thighs. He feels as if his heart is beating a hundred miles an hour with how you react to his touch. He must be ascending to Yoba himself from the pure sight of heaven in front of him.
You feel your skin radiating heat from the way his hands had spread out, one hand cupping your tits and gently tugging on your nipples occasionally. And the other hand had gently cupped the mound of flesh covering your most sensitive parts. He had wanted to continue massaging your tender and sore legs, but he could sense your growing tension and need for release.
He released his hold on your tits and thighs, moving his hands back to your waist as he looked for your permission once more as he continued to remove your underwear, tossing it to join its matching set on the floor of the clinic. Once you were undressed entirely on the exam table, Harvey grabbed a chair and brought it to the end of the table. Taking a seat in the chair, then pulling you by your ankles to the edge of the bed so that your ass was just barely in the air.
With little warning, Harvey dives into your pussy like a starved man, licking long flat stripes onto your clit. You gasp and moan, your hands diving into his hair, holding him in his place. A string of pleas and whimpers leave your mouth, unheard by your ears, as the pleasure that racks your body in waves comes over you. Harvey wraps his arms underneath your legs, trying to gain some leverage with how you're writhing beneath him. As he continues his ministrations, he slowly inserts a finger into your tight hole. You clench around the sudden intrusion, trying to relax into his touch, but each movement causes you to jump and shudder.
After you adjust to the first finger, Harvey inserts another, quickly making work of stretching your poor tight little pussy. He would almost feel pity for how tight you think; it must have been a while since someone has adequately cared for you, and he will happily take the job with care. With another finger inserted, you release a hearty moan while your back arches off of the exam bed. Your hand that was buried in his hair clenches and pulls harder than you intended, and Harvey fucking loves it. The primal groan that releases from his throat sends chills down your spine and even more juices to spill from your cunt.
You can hardly handle any more teasing before you release, and you desperately need to cum on his cock and not around his digits. While it’s appealing, you’d instead finish together the first time. So you tug on Harvey’s hair, signaling for him to pull away from your delicious cunt, and he does so begrudgingly. He truly thinks that if he could spend the rest of his life between your legs, he would.
As Harvey stands from his chair, you can see the bulge in his pants that has grown considerably since the start of the ‘massage.’ He quickly undoes his belt with the speed of a man who desperately needs to get laid and frees his weeping cock from the confines of his pants and boxer briefs. He pumps himself a few times, enjoying the look on your face when he has beaten whatever estimate your imagination had given him.
He gently places his hands underneath the back of your knees, pushing them towards your chest while he slowly grinds his hips against yours, slightly sputtering from the contact. His face was completely red from the acts he was committing. He had always been a morning person, but this morning had put every other to shame. The view of your tits being pushed up by the folding of your legs and how wet your cunt made his cock feel was almost sinful.
He slowly pushed his dick into your wet cunt, savoring the way your tight hole had clenched around him the moment he entered. He wanted to rut into you the moment his cock had touched your soaked entrance, but he had to show restraint for your poor little pussy, or he would hurt you, and that was the last thing he wanted. He leaned down to your ear, his breath hitting the shell of your ear and making you shiver. “You’ve got to relax, dear. If you’re too tight, I won’t be able to fuck you like you want.”
You squirm and moan on his dick, wanting to take more of him desperately. You wrap your hands around his arms, pleading with your body for him to continue, your brain too far gone to help you make your case. Harvey, deciding to take pity on your whining state, pushes his cock further into you. His hands gripping your leg and the back of your head, leaning into your neck as he ruts slowly into your pussy. As you slowly begin to loosen around him, he continues his agonizingly slow pace as your pussy drips its juices onto the tiled floor of the clinic.
Harvey readjusts himself, leaning back up to take a good look at you, how your breasts bounce from your hips slapping together, how the sound travels around his office, and wildly how your face contorts when he finds that spot that makes you see stars. Once he finds the place once more, he changes his rhythm to ruthlessly pound into your g-spot as he gently applies pressure to your lower stomach and starts rubbing small circles into your clit with his other hand.
Your back arches off of the exam bed as you moan Harvey’s name for what could have been the hundredth time; you couldn’t have kept track if you had tried. From the angle he was pounding into you, you doubted that you could do anything but moan and wail as you continued to take the brutal thrusting from Harvey. This was far from the gentle touches and kisses that Harvey had given you earlier; this was pure animalistic Harvey. The Harvey that needed to be buried inside of your tight walls while he spilled his seed into you, the Harvey that needed you to cum on his cock over and over again before he was satiated.
Harvey had bucked his hips into yours, his rhythm slowly slowing to bucking and whimpers as he continued to brush small circles into your clit. You could feel the final wave of your orgasm coming, but before you could try to warm Harvey, you feel a coil within you snap, and a warm feeling flood your insides as a buzzing fills your head. You can feel Harvey double over, his head falling onto your chest as he gathers his breath. When he slowly pulls out of you, you can feel the cum slowly pooling out of you as Harvey sucks in a breath watching the pornographic scene in front of him.
“Yoba, I should have asked about a condom. I am so sorry-“ Before Harvey can continue his apologetic rant, you interrupt him with a deep kiss. Holding onto his shoulders, pulling him in deeper, wanting to pinch yourself and hoping to Yoba it wasn’t a dream. Thanking Yoba again that it wasn’t, you pull back from Harvey and decide you are a morning person.

ㅤㅤjodie really ought to complain to the other co-owner of the firm about relocating their office more often, but it would only fall on deaf ears. no, literally — he could hardly hear shit now. at least she knew he wasn't listening in on any of her meetings. but being so close to a school, and a kindergarten no less, was starting to irk the childless forty-five year old who'd chose to marry her work over an actual person. at least the teacher was cute. the type of face she'd pay for. " what, is it like their fourth consecutive week vacationing? how the other half live. " she spoke bitterly, as if she wasn't secretly stashing thousands on a weekly basis. coffee cup was placed on the curb, rolling the sleeves of her blazer up past her elbows before nodding towards the car. " you're lucky you caught me and not my co-worker. couldn't even change a flat if he tried. be a doll— pop the hood open for me. if i can fix your problem, then you owe me a coffee. deal? "
open to: all.
suggested connections: parent/guardian of a student, another teacher, someone who’s just … passing by (a friend, a stranger, whatever). also they could be like, a gang leader or someone scary bc the dynamic would be very funny.

“hey! sorry, but … can you help me?” willow was quick to find the first person who looked like they could help. being a kindergarten teacher was hard enough as it is, she wasn’t sure why she decided to own a car that was probably made before she was born. wait, was that even legal? duh, she’s totally seen cars drive by that look like they’re from the 50′s. “my car broke down, and no one is answering their calls ….. like, no offense, but i kinda hate being an only child. siblings are supposed to help you out with these sort of things and my parents are on their fourth vacation of the month.” too much information, but she’s never been afraid to give out too much information.

i know things are rough for the doctor who fandom right now, but at least Jodie Whitaker as the 13th Doctor existed.
I say this not only because she was an incredibe doctor who brings joy to my life whenever i remember her, but also because can you even fucking imagine the fucking discourse in a world where billie piper was the first female doctor

the kent popcorn scene *cracks knuckles*
i think about this scene so often, you have NO idea.
if you choose to blame jodi (why would you?) kent gets mad at YOU and tells you to stop trying to turn him against his wife. he then apologizes & understands that she couldn't have known.
if you choose the positive option of saying it isn't jodi's fault, he COMPLETELY AGREES and says there is no way she could've known. he then apologizes to jodi.
if you lie to him, he gets angry at YOU again and explains how he hates lying. he then apologies to jodi.
no matter the outcome, he always apologizes to jodi and either gets mad at you for lying/attacking his wife or agrees that it wasn't her fault.
he is only mad at jodi initially (with reason, as he is having a ptsd reaction) and soon realizes she isn't the one at fault. all the dialogue options result in him realizing his mistake, owning up to it, and apologizing to his wife.
he loves his wife so much and understands that she couldn't have known something that used to be his favorite would upset him.
i've seen others mention this but, kent doesn't talk to his family about his experiences during the war (likely to protect them) and sam, vincent, and jodi all comment on how kent has slightly distanced himself.
kent knows that, if anyone is at fault, it's himself for not talking to jodi. he loves jodi and would do anything for her (re: a soldier's star quest line)
in the guidebook, he's listed as a "family man" and it hurts to see people say he hates his family/wife.
he literally loves them so much.
anyway: tldr the popcorn scene (especially kent's actions in it) isn't as bad at people make it out to be. he actively realizes his wrongs & apologizes to his wife. he UNDERSTANDS that it isn't her fault and he loves his wife more than anything.
sorry.. i have a favorite character, can't you tell? TT

"When the remediation of the colonization of American Indians is framed through discourses of racialization that can be redressed by further inclusion into the nation-state, there is a significant failure to grapple with the fact that such discourses further reinscribe the original colonial injury. ... Under this paradigm, American Indian national assertions of sovereignty, self-determination, and land rights disappear into U.S. terrioriality as indigenous identity becomes a racial identity and citizens of colonized indigenous nations become internal ethnic minorities within the colonizing nation-state. ... Calls to social justice for U.S. racialized, sexualized, immigrant, and diasporic queer communities that include indigenous peoples, if they are not attuned to the ongoing conditions of settler colonialism of indigenous peoples, risk deeming colonialism in North America resolved, if not redressed, two cents for 100 billion dollars. ... One reason why a 'postracial' and just democratic society is a lost cause in the United States is that it is always already conceived through the prior disavowed and misremembered colonization of indigenous lands that cannot be ended by further inclusion or more participation."

here's my thoughts on rtd's handling of using david tennant and billie piper as book ends of ncuti gatwa's run.
firstly, i think the usage of david tennant was a good idea. viewership of doctor who was down AND they were creating the new disney series, so they needed a way to draw in viewers and the best way to do that is one of the most popular doctors coming back. they still could've done ncuti coming in and having a reboot like chris did, but i don't think this is all bad. it also establishes the themes of the doctor recovering and ties up donna's story, allowing a fresh start. this isn't the first time david's been back as the doctor either, so it's not wild that he came back for a special.
i don't think the same about billie coming back. it would've been fine for her to have a cameo, but not as the doctor. this is because there's no reboot happening, no real reason to bring her back as the doctor, AND she's already been back as both rose and the moment, both of which could've been brought back for cameos instead. it overshadows ncuti's run instead of jumpstarting it, like david's reappearance did. ncuti was a brilliant doctor who could've handed off the torch to a new actor, just like every other doctor besides jodie. he deserved to have his moment, especially after his first appearance was alongside david instead of on his own. he got a shitty send off.
i also want to touch on jodie reappearing, because i've seen some discourse about it. i don't think this is the same as billie, since we've seen other doctors return for send offs multiple times. notably, the twelfth doctor had a whole episode with the first doctor as he was avoiding regeneration. thirteen met a bunch of her past selves right before regenerating. the war doctor met his future selves, but that's not really the same since he was only in that one episode and wasn't a full doctor. either way, it's an established thing. i do think it sours ncuti's send off though that it was filled with old faces, and i understand the criticism. had it just been jodie, it would've been fine, but not paired with billie.
basically, i think that after ncuti's run started with david, he should've been allowed to flourish without the reappearances of old faces taking the spotlight in his final moments. that should've been a jumping off point. bring viewers in then let them enjoy the new doctor, not jingling nostalgia in front of their faces because rtd can't trust that ncuti will succeed without it.
if he wanted nostalgia, he should've let ncuti face the daleks, the cybermen, and the master.

Do you think when Sarandos talked about Meghan’s impact on culture, he’s also talking about the impact of Meghan’s accusations against the BRF? Ever since Meghan accused the BRF of racism, there’s been an influx of shows and movies about the monarchy with color blind casting. Anne Boleyn was played by Jodie Turner-Smith. Edward VI was played by a black actor in My Lady Jane. In Netflix’ very own Queen Charlotte show, there was even a storyline about Lady Danbury fighting for her son to be allowed to inherit a title.
Also Sarandos saying that Harry and Meghan are “over-dismissed” feels like he’s justifying their decision to keep backing them up amidst other companies like Spotify dismissing them. They weren’t dismissed by people in the beginning. They were overrated, and then dismissed because people realized there’s not much substance. I’m sure Netflix didn’t sign them in the first place because they were willing to bet on over-dismissed individuals. They signed them because of their connection to the monarchy. I guess Sarandos decided there’s still value in that.
Colorblind casting (eg Hamilton) and race-based casting (eg Bridgerton*) in predominantly/historically white stories were happening long before Meghan met Harry. For example:
Eartha Kitt played Catwoman in 1967.
Morgan Freeman played Red in Shawshank Redemption in 1994. (Red was written to be an Irishman.)
David Oyelowo played Henry VI in 2000. (He also played Javert in the 2018 Les Mis.)
David Harewood played Friar Tuck in a 2006 production of Robin Hood.
Miss Moneypenny in the Daniel Craig Bond franchise was played by Naomie Harris, and Jeffrey Wright played Felix Lester. Daniel Bond began in 2006 with Casino Royale.
So if anyone should get any credit for being the catalyst that let Black actors play historically white roles, it’s Eartha Kitt. Certainly not Meghan Markle. Meghan did make it much more relevant, though, particularly when it came to stories about the British monarchy.
Also, some quick research about these productions would have told you that two of them were cast and in production *before* Meghan accused the BRF of racism. Her accusations came in March 2021 via the Oprah interview; Jodie Turner-Smith was cast as Anne Boleyn in October 2020 and Bridgerton* cast their principal stars in July 2019. So that theory, that these characters/plots were developed as a response to the racism allegations) isn’t valid.
But the overlap of those roles with Meghan’s allegations certainly made them much more relevant. But that’s all - relevant and coincidental. Art imitates life and life imitates art.
*the creators intentionally had a diverse cast because they were interested in exploring race. The inspiration came from the 1940s scholarly discourse of Queen Charlotte being a Black woman, plus Shonda’s own desire to make the show fresh and relevant. You can find interviews where they talk about this.

the thing is that i used to think the jokes about dean being #acab were funny until i realized people were serious about it. he may not be the bootlicker sam is but he is very much not acab. his issue with the police is not that they're law enforcement. it's that they don't know what he does and often make it harder for him to do his job. the reason i know this is true is because he is fine with cops that are in the know (deacon, victor, donna, jody, etc). that being said, i also find the discourse about dean and sam being cops themselves lacking. i understand where it's coming from but it is missing a crucial point and that point is that sam and dean don't have the authority of a badge and the government behind them. now if you want to have a conversation about the huntercorp!winchesters being cops................
