Jovi kept telling herself it was not obvious in the slightest that she was flirting with the cute long haired boy behind the counter for the past few months, but if you asked anyone who entered the shop when she was there bugging him, it was pretty obvious. She'd come straight from the mortuary, so the smell of formaldehyde lingered a little, but she was hoping her messy bun detracted from it.

"I'm just saying, if I ever figured out how to actually ride a skateboard, I'd be unstoppable." She often used one of the decks at the shop to show off how steady her on pointe was, but today she was gripping the counter, slowly rolling back and forth. "I've been perfectly balanced practically since I could walk."

She hadn't thought she could meet anyone more southern than her own extended family until the ballerina proved her wrong. "We're probably all gonna hang out in the secret bar afterwards. I guess your boyfriend can come too. Unless you're currently off at the moment?" She crossed her fingers hopefully, although by now it was mostly a joke. Jovi's on-again off-again boyfriend was... Well, he was fine.

Hello, hello my little lovelies,

So much to catch up on these days! Everyone all at once seemed to have some type of news to share with me. 

You all know being on the ice is meant to keep us all cool and level-headed, right? There were so many punches thrown at the ice skating event, not just once, not even twice, but three whole times. Eagan Connolly punched Huntsville Daily’s very own Samuel Ahn over what was reportedly, and unsurprisingly, something to do with that missing brother of hers again. If she keeps that attitude up no one is going to be willing to assist her. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, sweetheart. 

Seeming to take a cue from her is that wildchild from the Westfall family, Esther Westfall, who is just as short tempered as ever. They were seen punching one Eldon Harcourt, though he seemed to take it decently well, and didn’t engage into a full brawl. The same can’t be said for Joey Albright who fully attacked Louis Ryan and had to be pulled off him. Not exactly the behavior you’d expect from everyone’s favorite heartthrob but it seems love makes fools of us all. Let’s just hope that Hope Macgillivray is worth it. 

However, not everyone at the ice skating party was quick to come to blows. It seems that there are at least some of you who would rather make love than war. Jackson Miller was spotted getting cozy with Lavender Parsons, ending in what was apparently quite the steamy kiss, if my sources are to be believed. Now I know that some readers may be scandalized by this news, but I for one think it is wonderful that after everything she went through with her mother’s disappearance last year, Miss Parsons seems to be coming into her own as a young woman. All I can say is, be careful out there, men of Huntsville! There’s a new heartbreaker on the rise.

Here’s a toast to one town event being mostly a success with no serious incidents. Hopefully this is the start of a new and lighter year for all of us.

as the middle child, lydia dicamillo has always just blended into the background

she only got three years of being the baby before jovi came along, and suddenly it was like she didn’t exist at all

kali was the eldest and seemingly the bane of their mother’s existence, and jovi was the daddy’s girl, which left lydia to try and find her own title

she had a minnie mouse radio that she kept beneath her pillow, always tuning into the local radio station so she could soak up hours worth of songs and clever bantering between the cohosts

and she wasn’t the only child her age that took on such interests at an early age; music was her favorite subject in school, and she gravitated towards others who seemed to feel the same

among those friends was zeke cohen

he quickly became her best friend, and she attached herself to his hip so they could talk about music and other things all day long

as soon as she was old enough to be let loose on the streets by herself, lydia would wander her way into the music store just down the road from the dicamillo residence, planting herself in the back corner as she learned every little thing she could about certain albums

her favorite genre, without a doubt, was anything punk or alternative

it was around this time that she started her band tee collection, always sporting a new one to school and getting loads of questions from her classmates

her parents wouldn’t let her dye or cut her “beautiful blonde hair”, so she settled for dark eye makeup and a fake nose piercing

essentially, lydia had entered her forever emo phase, and that was where she was happiest

she felt like she was floating through life until she was in her senior year of high school

that’s when she visited the radio station for the first time and landed herself an intern position, something she was beyond excited for, especially since she’d be working with zeke

her feelings for him had developed long before she ever thought to tell him, feeling as though it may ruin their friendship if she did so

life with zeke as her best friend was comfortable, and lydia’s dream of becoming a host and dj at the station was in the forefront of her mind

slowly they both climbed their way up the ladder, eventually landing themselves a spot as the daytime hosts

while it wasn’t the most ideal time of day to play angry punk music, lydia would take whatever she could get

for once in her life she felt happy and content, something she’d been desperate to feel her entire life

by day she was a radio host, but by night lydia could be found at dive bars and underground concerts

it’s where she felt the most at home, surrounded by people who shared her love of music and didn't have time to judge anyone else

she would always drag zeke along with her, needing him by her side in all of her adventures

and the longer she went without telling him how she felt, the more she wanted to

and so, despite knowing their boss at the station wouldn’t approve, lydia finally plucked up the courage to tell zeke how she felt

that’s when their secret romance started, and so far it’s gone smoothly

they don’t let on to anything at work, but after work is a completely different story

lydia isn’t scared to be affectionate with him when they’re at a show or a bar, never worried that someone will rat them out and putting too much trust into strangers

now that she was happier, lydia felt it was time to try and reconcile with her father and sisters

gone were the days of feeling like she was unimportant; she wanted to be in their lives, and they clearly wanted to be in hers

these days, lydia is much closer to her family (though she ignores that her mother exists)

she is still a closed-off individual, choosing to keep mostly to herself until it’s time to broadcast her voice across dallas-fort worth

she and zeke are still very much together, though it’s still very much underwraps, and she still hasn’t told jovi or kali about him

her biggest flex (it’s a silent one), is that she looks like a faerie princess but dresses and acts like a teenage dirtbag

is not afraid to stand up for the people she loves; she may look delicate, but the girl packs a heavy punch both physically and verbally

BIOGRAPHY.

tw: accident

from the minute kali was born she was a disappointment to her mother. she was reminded often that she'd been the one to ruin her mother's dreams. she heard it for years and by the time lydia and jovi came along, they were hardened by it.

it was no secret that kali had a much better relationship with their father, but in general they became closed off emotionally, not trusting that they'd be accepted by anyone. however, they did their best to make sure their sisters always knew how much they cared about them.

to further ruin their mother's hopes of making her own personal star, kali had a bad accident when she was two years old that left her deaf in one ear and hard of hearing in the other, along with some metal plating on her skull. because of this they learned to sign before speaking

besides that, kali wasn't going to ever fit the part of beauty queen. they didn't feel like the pretty little girl with bows and dresses, hell, they didn't feel like a girl. instead, they built robots and took apart electronics and put them back together again.

this led to a further interest in cybernetics, robotics, and general mechanics. they went to college to study it further and the rest they've learned either in the field or through books, videos, etc. since it's all constantly changing.

kali did their initial internship for drake industries but didn't like the way it seemed so elite and ended up going to carpenter repairs and doing back alley work to help others on the side.

in their early twenties their tinnitus got so bad they nearly went completely deaf but got bionic ears installed instead. on occasion kali will shut them off to focus or not deal with people, but otherwise she can hear quite well if they are on.

they come off as cold and uncaring but they care about their family and close friends quite a bit, kali just has a funny way of showing it sometimes.
