I feel like Phases have fallen out of fashion and that sucks. We need to have more Phases.
Like, have a tea phase, have a programming phase, have a gardening phase, or learn about math or a specific period in history or your local park. It's okay if you don't stick with something long term, you can enjoy the journey along the way and learn lots of new things both about yourself and the world!
Just literally pick anything you're interested in. Like, I guarantee you, if you decided to hyperfixate on... i dunno, thread quality in bath towels to the point where you're really particular about what bath towel brands you get, and you buy friends bath towels for Christmas, they'll love it!! You'll be the Bath Towel friend and you'll find fun gift ideas and learn new things and microdose luxury and isn't that so much fun

Imagine wanting to f/o a character who’s canonically a god in their series but not knowing how to go about it totally not a problem that I’m going through rn ;v;… *wheeze*
YOU'LL FIND A WAY, ANON!!!
sometimes figuring out the logistics is the hardest part but!!! it's not impossible!!! spend some time with it, get creative, remember that there's pretty much nothing you can't do (probably even less you can't do with an f/o who's a god!!!)!!! and also keep in mind that, ultimately, you don't actually have to find a way!!! you don't have to figure anything out or work out all the kinks, if you like this character and you wanna just like this character, that's all you have to do. no stress, no expectations, just whatever's easy and fun!!! you got this!!!!! 🖤

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.

One of my biggest nitpicks in fiction concerns the feeding of babies. Mothers dying during/shortly after childbirth or the baby being separated form the mother shortly after birth is pretty common in fiction. It is/was also common enough in real life, which is why I think a lot of writers/readers don't think too hard about this. however. Historically, the only reason the vast majority of babies survived being separated from their mother was because there was at least one other woman around to breastfeed them. Before modern formula, yes, people did use other substitutes, but they were rarely, if ever, nutritionally sufficient.
Newborns can't eat adult food. They can't really survive on animal milk. If your story takes place in a world before/without formula, a baby separated from its mother is going to either be nursed by someone else, or starve.
It doesn't have to be a huge plot point, but idk at least don't explicitly describe the situation as excluding the possibility of a wetnurse. "The father or the great grandmother or the neighbor man or the older sibling took and raised the baby completely alone in a cave for a year." Nope. That baby is dead I'm sorry. "The baby was kidnapped shortly after birth by a wizard and hidden away in a secret tower" um quick question was the wizard lactating? "The mother refused to see or touch her child after birth so the baby was left to the care of the ailing grandfather" the grandfather who made the necessary arrangements with women in the neighborhood, right? right? OR THAT GREAT OFFENDER "A newborn baby was left on the doorstep and they brought it in and took care of it no issues" What Are You Going to Feed That Baby. Hello?
Like. It's not impossible, but arrangements are going to have to be made. There are some logistics.

academic bias is so funny because you’ll be reading about the same historical event and one person is like “Despite the troubles that befell his homeland and near constant criticism of the court King Blorbo remained strong in the face of adversity” and the other one is like “after letting his people carry the brunt of his cringefail decisions Blorbo the Shitface refused to listen to any reason and continued to be a warmongering piece of shit. Also he was ugly.”

I'm gonna add since people misread.
No the point is not empathy in this post.
There is nothing wrong with different types of empathy levels, all are valid 🩷
What is the point tho, is that people decide what autism is, that we are all the same, what empathy is and automatically assume we either don't have it or must be a bad person if our empathy level is not the same or what they think it should be.
So please, don't speak badly of people with low empathy or whatever level. Cause I say it again.
I don't allow it, I don't condone it, and you are just as valid 🖤
