Free Stuff and Previews for June!
Hey everyone! My patron-gift display cases are free for everyone! These are neutral to fit into a different array of shops, FREE of hideous space-wasting EA clutter, and have a variety of metal/wood/paint swatches! Please read the instructions on filling them up, as it can be a little iffy with so many slots. I'm not kidding. The small case has literally 3X the amount of slots the display cases fro the B&H pack have and the large one has… I think 50? Yes, probably way too many, but I like to have options! Just look at the EA Case compared mine, below. Small stuff looks horrible in the EA case, it makes shops look so sloppy. :/ I'll stop ranting.
HERE is the direct link to the download post! As always, this is a direct link. No adfly or redirection nonsense. Please make sure to read our TOS. Thank you! ^^
And we have previews(videos) for June rolling out - the theme is Coffee Shops/ Cafes!
Lattes! Five to start. The previews are separated by the type of glass, so there will be two more after this one. ^^ Video is dark, for some reason. >_> Everything in game is brighter.
Background Music by Pocketbeats Music from Pixabay!
aaannnd... here is another one, cute drinks in waffle cone cups! Or the video would be here, but there's only one video, so here is a static image!
You can see both on our Patreon(all members, free and up) or our Instagram.... or I'll just put it up tomorrow, if you don't want to go anywhere else. ^^ It's not just drinks, but some fancy desserts plus clutter - I'll be putting up previews of that stuff, too, soon!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please consider supporting, or simply following us on Patreon, or on other social media. We're on Bluesky, too. Thank you. :)

I'm not sure what simblr's general opinion on this is, but peeking back in after my long hiatus, I have a lot of thoughts...
In my opinion, Patreon killed all of the momentum that ts4 simblr had pre-2020. I think we all know a lot of the bigger issues- permanent paywalls, creators doxxing and bullying, cliqueing up and sharing info- but I mean even besides that. I mean specifically early access, two to three week delays for releasing cc, the version of paywalling that most people (including myself) accepted.
It's good that creators were able to get paid for their work, especially during the pandemic. But I think, unfortunately, it had other effects too. I remember back then, being disappointed at how much was eacc, and that was only like 25% of the cc coming out, and it (almost) always was popular creators with high quality work. But slowly but surely, nearly everyone moved to patreon (which I've noticed has caused a lot of cc to be forever lost once patreons were closed/deleted) and 99% of the time it was early access or even exclusive. Many people started blogs with early access cc from the get-go, without having a presence beforehand, and those blogs seemed to be some of the most focused on blocking anyone that shared their cc. The cc varied in quality- it could be simple mesh edits that were still mostly ea, or recolors, or even just patterns sourced from other sites. It didn't matter what it was, it was just content for money, anything to pad out the month and keep patrons. Creators would do early access and then link the cc through adfly or to TSR or simsdom/simsfinds, one by one, even if it was supposed to be a pack. It wasn't bad enough to call out, but it was purposeful.
CC on tumblr became a business in a way it hadn't before, even with other paysites in sims history. And while some people are happy to donate to creators they like now and again... most people either can't or won't. Many simmers are children, and many simmers are adults with strict budgets, especially during the pandemic. And truth be told... they probably got bored. Because it's all terribly boring. CC shopping isn't fun anymore. It's the briefest serotonin seeing something interesting on your dash and then instantly flying away when you see you'll have to wait almost a month for it. And if it wasn't a creator I really liked, I forgot about it instantly after that... sometimes even if I really liked them. Motivation dropped. People stopped being excited, and stopped playing.
Nowadays, it seems even worse. Because the amount and variety of cc and creators has dropped drastically. I'm shocked to see 2-3 cc posts per day, if that, most of them paywalled. It isn't just cc posts either- used to you couldn't look in the s4cc tag for cc, it would be so crowded with non-cc sims posts, but now it's depressingly easy... and empty. Lookbooks, edits, gameplay, cc, it all seems more sparing. And you don't see the same creativity, the same fun random little items, stuff that was interesting even if it wasn't necessarily perfect. Or wild ideas or cc that would appeal to certain small niches. Because that isn't profitable, is it? When you need to create a certain amount of items per month at a certain quality to keep patrons and therefore income, you have to strategize, for good or for bad. Some people are able to do that, and while good for their business model, it limits what they can create and how much energy they can spend on each item. Some people aren't able to do it, and burn out and leave. Either way, creativity suffers. Enjoyment suffers. Creators leave from the passion being sucked out of their hobby; non-creators leave from frustration and boredom. And you're left with a handful of creators still going by their cc business playbook, month by month. But how long can those few sustain themselves?
It's natural for communities to ebb and flow, or even completely die out, but ts4 simblr had been going strong for years before this overall, even if it was in waves. In the pandemic, it should've flourished the way other many other communities did, especially gaming focused ones. But, it didn't. Instead it slowed down, more people left than the amount coming in, the engagement died down, and it seems like as a whole custom content hasn't advanced at all. Maybe it would've happened anyway, but I honestly think patreon contributed a lot. Also, ts2 and ts3 communities weren't affected in the same way, afaik, which makes me think it was paywalls even more.
Can it be fixed? Maybe. If paywalls weren't as much of a thing anymore- and I don't mean completely gone, but just a fairer ratio- I think it could. But now that it's become a standard, I doubt that will happen. I think most people have moved to other places where they don't have to deal with it, like discord servers, and simblr will continue to lose momentum.
It's good for creators to have the option of getting some income for their work, but I guess I'm just saying... at what cost? Beyond the monetary? If you're not super popular, are you even making enough for the added stress to be worth it? If you are, is this going to be satisfying and maintainable long-term, without burn-out/effects on your mental health? Who will pay for it when the number of players keeps dropping? And will this continue on to the Sims 5 community in the future? I honestly hope not.

So it seems some cc creators are nuking themselves over the statement from EA
I always knew that the time would come when EA would finally address this whole perma paywall thing. I just didn't think it would come so sudden, it's not like they didn't know what was up they knew. EA made a reference to wickedwhims in the game called whicker whims it's the laundry basket in the game(lmao). So they knew that people were having mods and cc in the game, the whole doxxing situation just bought it to the light what was really going on behind closed doors and I feel it made them have no choice but to address this issue.
Back in 2017 is when I feel patreon started to become popular in the sims 4 community. I remember a lot of creators having everything for free and you had to go through adfly which I hated because of random pop ups on my laptop. Then all of a sudden things that were only supposed to be locked for 2-3 weeks because months and then YEARS. Then all of a sudden you had gifts and exclusive cc popping up and it became so normalized. These same creators that were making cc when the sims 4 came out that were free and used to release content after 2-3 weeks started not release anything at to the public.
After a while it became so hard to find good quality cc that I liked for my game that wasn't locked, and at the time I was a young teenager(now 23) so I didn't have money to buy anyones patreon and I knew I couldn't ask my parents to buy me cc for my game unless it was from EA. I know my parents would have looked at me crazy as to why i'm spending almost $30 a month on a video game. (Which I also want to bring awareness to this as well, not everyone is an adult and can just buy cc whenever they want there are kids and teenagers whose parents are not willing to spend monthly payments for something that's not made by EA themselves)
I hate when creators like to call simmers who can't afford their patreon cc broke. I promise you that is not the case for a majority of people who play the sims. Obviously there are people who can't afford it but nobody wants pay to up to 25-50 dollars a month on cc. Your NOT the only creator that someone is getting cc from and its seems(not all)like yall forget. That's basically a damn UTILITY BILL at that point.
If your so stressed about not being able to make money then put your talent to use and go into 3D software or be apart of a big gaming company like EA, Rockstar etc. or even a indie game like paralives which i'm sure they will be grateful for your help. But stop using the excuse woe is me I have student debt to pay I have bills to pay, I have this and that to pay for. So do your PATRONS that give you money every month they are REAL people THEY ARE NOT YOUR DIRECT DEPOSIT CHECK AT THE END OF THE MONTH.
It sucks that a bunch of people ruined it for everyone that actually enjoyed making content for the sims and went by the 2-3 week rule and NEVER perma paywalled. I hope you guys keep getting the love and support you deserve.
I hope what EA did was a eye opener to everyone to stop being greedy and to follow the rules, now everyone is feeling the effects of what's to come in the future.
And to the people who were subscribed to someone's patreon page and they decided to nuke their whole page after the statement from EA I hope that was a eye opener to you as well. Those creators only saw you guys as dollars signs and they never really cared about you. If they did their page would still be up and they would just ask for donations and make everything free, to them this was a job and not something that they were truly passionate about. I know cc is a lot of work as a beginner it's tough to figure how to use blender and the sims 4 studio and maya and marvelous designer. Everything on youtube is mostly a speed mesh tutorial and you have to set the video to like 0.25 just so you can follow along and replay every video at least 50 times to get it and most walkthroughs are hush hush. Everything is trial and error its days and weeks for something to be perfect for the public. If you really were passionate then you would still be here and i'm sure you lost loyal patrons that have been with you since day one, if you ever decided to come back.(but honestly the community has seen your true colors and i'm sure they wouldn't welcome you back with open arms sorry not sorry)
Anddd since it seems over the next few weeks and months to come a lot of big creators are probably going to leave. This is just a rumor but they are talking about making png files and object files to sell and for you to convert it in your game or they'll send you the package file. Some creators are talking about only making things for blender only but like you can't even play the sims properly in blender like that doesnt make sense at all?!?! You'll only be using it for pictures and that sounds like it would get boring after awhile because then you'll have to convert things over into blender and in the sims 4 studio because you want it in your game that seems like a lot of unnecessary steps to me just so you can still make a profit. But honestly that sounds like the whole doxxing ring all over again if you choose to do that then be safe(use a fake name and fake email address for everything so nothing can link you to your real identity). Who wants to go through all that when they can find someone else that has their download public.
But in good news that means a lot of small cc creators(myself) are going to be coming up in the next few months and years to come so I say now is the time that small cc creators need to be practicing their craft and promoting their cc to the community. If what learned from this whole patreon mess and doxxing ring is to help everyone who wants or is interested in making cc share everything from tutorials to walkthroughs even if it seems like newbie questions help out. Everyone started out as newbie and didn't know how to use the camera controls in blender(lmaooo my ass was struggling okay) hopefully we can repair and build back up the sims community.
Anyways rant over feel free to add your two cents if you want but I said what I said.

Monetizing cc /mods
Because every other day there is drama in this community when it comes to monetizing cc and mods etc, I decided to collect all info I could find on this topic when it comes to EAxis stance on this to help clear up the confusion. All sources will be linked.
I mostly do this because I am worried with how this is going in the community and that one day EA will just decide to stop supporting cc / mods because it has become too much of an issue. Exclusive cc / mods are basically just micro-transactions imo.
EA’s tos:
You are responsible for your UGC. You may not upload UGC that infringes a third party's intellectual property rights or that violates the law, this Agreement or a third party's right of privacy or right of publicity. EA may, in its sole discretion, remove, edit or disable UGC for any reason, including if EA reasonably determines that UGC violates this Agreement. EA does not assume any responsibility or liability for UGC, for removing it, or not removing it or other Content. EA does not pre-screen all UGC and does not endorse or approve any UGC available on EA Services. When you contribute UGC, you grant to EA, its licensors and licensees a non-exclusive, perpetual, transferable, worldwide, sublicensable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works, publicly perform, publicly display or otherwise transmit and communicate the UGC, or any portion thereof, in any manner or form and in any medium or forum, whether now known or hereafter devised, without notice, payment or attribution of any kind to you or any third party. You also grant all other users who can access and use your UGC on an EA Service the right to use, copy, modify, display, perform, create derivative works from, and otherwise communicate and distribute your UGC on or through the relevant EA Service without further notice, attribution or compensation to you.
What does UGC mean? UGC stands for User Generated Content, this includes all types of cc and mods made for the game, but also pictures you take in game and sims and builds you make. When it comes to cc there is no difference in whether it’s a recolor or a mesh you made from scratch. So basically everything you make for / with the game is included in UGC.
Maxis on Pay sites:
- Patreon: “As long as the content is still made available FOR FREE we do not mind these types of pages. Folks who have a Patreon page are welcome to provide folks with "early access" incentives for their content but it should be made available to the general public within 2-3 weeks of it being given to folks early.”
- Paywalls (like adfly and co): “Creators cannot lock content they make using our game behind a paywall. While we do not police this content (there is no way we would create a team simply to monitor this) we do take reports sent to us seriously and action accordingly.”
Altering someone’s cc / mods:
Even if not required, it is considered common courtesy to credit a creator if you re-use and slightly modify their created content.
Tl;dr: UGC can not infringe a third party's intellectual property rights or violate the law and can only be monetized through donation buttons like ko-fi or patreon early access (2-3 weeks max). People are allowed to modify your cc/mods but preferably give credit to the original creator. So have a reasonable TOU.

To my fellow Simblrs
CW: Abusive, misogynist language. Threats of violence
Heads up to @anachrosims @xldkx @academiclemonade @loookawway @chelseasanidiot @bill-l-s4cc @fiftymilehighclub @mack3030 @melunn
Look, I understand the importance of standing to the pieces of scum who are tearing our fandom apart through paywalls, adflys to literal death threats and doxing. Where we choose to continue fighting through awareness, courage and a commitment to building a healthier community, @eggysimblr choses to fight with toxicity, misogynistic slurs and death threats.
Listen, I believe we should use our anger to demand change as a better world but when it just devolves into hateful, disgusting vitriol like this, I say this...

Sims Chat is Back!
Well, we never left, really. But! We’ve just re-organized the entire server, and have big plans for the future!
We are an 18+, Occult-focused Sims and games server. (Though human Sims are more than welcome to join us!) We've got a small but welcoming community, a few custom emotes (and we're willing to add more on user request!), color roles, and more.
We have an entire section of the server dedicated to helping and celebrating creators, from story makers to render makers to cc makers and modders.
While we are NSFW friendly and have an entire section of the discord devoted to NSFW discussion, if that doesn't interest you, you don't even have to acknowledge that it exists! There is an optional role that unlocks that area of the discord, without it, it's completely hidden. Out of sight, out of mind. (Oh, and you don't need to ask anyone in order to get the NSFW role, you pick it up from a bot discreetly, and get rid of it just as easily if you decide it's not for you)
We're always looking for chances to improve, if you have a suggestion for what could make the server better, or are interested in becoming a helper either as a moderator or by joining our event planning committee, I'd be more than happy to hear you out!
We can't wait to see you in there!
The rules are below the cut, if you'd like to read them before joining! If you do not agree to the rules before you shut down discord, you get auto-kicked from the server, feel free to rejoin later when you're ready to read and agree to the rules! (No hard feelings! This is just to prevent a surplus of inactive users)

hi! i wanted to say i completely agree with that adfly post you made! i started playing the sims a few years back for the first time not knowing much about the game besides regular gameplay from youtubers and i stumbled upon cc. i always saw ppl on yt have extra content that was outside of the game that i really liked, so i got really excited when i discovered cc. when i first downloaded cc i got an adfly link on a few and i didnt know what it was bc it was my first time in the sims community and cc community so i just did what the site said to get to the cc and i got a virus. i didnt think to make sure if the site was bad as i didnt think cc creators would give us viruses (whether knowingly or unknowingly). then when i found out it was bad it was too late :(.
One creator who's cc ive always wanted to download but just admired from afar bc they used adfly links stopped using them like a while back and im so happy bc now i get to enjoy their content! i even subsribed to their patreon :) and they were the first ever creator who's patreon ive ever subscribed to.
yikes... this was long but i just wanted to share my experience
Thanks for sharing your experience! I think it’s really important to talk about these things instead of just sweeping them under the rug, otherwise it’s something people are ‘aware’ of but don’t ever actually see happening, you know?
Situations like yours are exactly what I was referencing in my post, CC can be super overwhelming to first learn about so people don’t also need the added stress of getting a virus :/

It’s time we talk about SimsDom again.
Most of you probably already know who and what Simsdom is but for those that don’t, Simsdom (or SimsDomination) claim to essentially be a CC finds website, which in essence I suppose they are... But don’t get your hopes up for a Lana replacement because they are SO much more than that. And not in a good way.
I know this is an old subject, and most people probably thought it was all over and done with, but Simsdom is still around and what’s worse is that I’ve noticed a growing trend among my fellow Game Changers who create content for Youtuber and Twitch/Mixer of promoting the site by using it to do CC shopping haul videos and streams, which is encouraging their viewers to use Simsdom. I’m not going to name names or point fingers but it made me realise that maybe some people don’t understand just how bad Simsdom is for the community in general, but especially for the amazingly dedicated CC creators of Simblr. And it’s just so disappointing to see people that some many in the community, including myself, look up to promoting this garbage site!
If you’re curious to know why this is a problem, I’ll explain under the cut. If not, keep scrolling... But don’t say I didn’t warn you.
If you visit the Simsdom website (which I’ve purposely not provided a link to because you absolutely shouldn’t visit it) you’ll notice a whole bunch of custom content is available there, more than likely you’ll even find quite a bit from some of your faves like @peacemaker-ic, @nolan-sims, @storylegacysims, @crypticsim, @renorasims, @savvysweet and MANY more. My stuff is even on there as well and if you’re a creator, the chances are high your stuff is too; whether you want it to be or not.
But don’t be fooled, myself and most of the other creators whose content appears on their site did not give permission for our content to be shared on there. In fact, most of us have specifically asked Simsdom to remove our content from their site. I say “most” because there are some people who willing uploading their content there (god knows why). The easiest way to the tell the difference is to look at who posted the content. If you see this:
That content has been shared by a bot, without the creator’s permission and more than likely against their many requests that Simsdom NOT share their content. If it says the name of the actual creator instead of “Exchange”, that creator uploaded it themselves.
You might also ask why anyone would care if their content was shared on a CC finds blog, after all, it means more traffic to our blogs and content, right? First of all, whether it brings in more traffic or not, is beside point. These creators have specifically requested Simsdom not share their content and they have been ignored, disrespected, threatened, and harassed. Simsdom claims that their users make up 30-90% of Tumblr creators traffic, but I call bullshit. I check my Google analytics every single month for traffic coming in to both my Tumblr and Blogger from Simsdom and I can tell you that LESS THAN 1% of the COMBINED TOTAL traffic from BOTH BLOGS comes from there. And when you understand how they operate, you’ll understand why that is.
- UPDATE -
In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, they linked 5 creators that they claim meet their crazy statement that their site provides creators with 30-90% of their traffic. So I just thought I’d point out some interesting facts I noticed while looking at those sites.
One of those sites is dead; literally, it doesn’t exist anymore, if it ever even did. Another, @simiracle, is a fellow Game Changer who reblogged this post, so I’m guessing they don’t have support there. And the other 3 are alpha CC creators, none of whom have ever uploaded any of their CC to Simdom, nor have they ever mentioned Simsdom on their sites in any way. However, all three earn money on their own content via either adfly, adsense, patreon, or some combination of the three; my guess would be they wouldn’t be too happy to find out Simsdom is making money off them too.
You see, Simsdom might sometimes link back to the original creators site, but often times they don’t. I’ve noticed quite a bit of the content of my own on their site directly links to the file on SimFileShare, completely bypassing both my Tumblr and my Blogger. This might not seem like a big problem, but what about if the creator has put specific instructions, requirements, or notes on the original download page that if the downloader doesn’t read could result in broken/unusable CC, or worse, a broken game?
- UPDATE -
In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, they linked to SimFileShare’s page on SimilarWeb and claimed that I was lying about direct-linking to my files there because their site does not appear in the list of referring sites. What they failed to mention is that that list only shows the TOP 5 sites that link to SimFileShare regularly. There are still 385 other sites that aren’t shown and can’t be seen without having an account with SimilarWeb. Convenient, huh?
I also said they only direct-linked SOME content. With my content it was only about 4 or 5 things out of the 15 or so they have on their site and I didn’t check anyone else’s stuff but I have heard other creators say the same thing. So of course they’re not going to show up in the top 5 if it’s only SOME links.
But wait, there’s more.
Anyone downloading from their website without an adblocker is forced to wade through potentially harmful ads as well. Notice the blue button that says “download” at the top? That’s not a real download button and if you click it, it will instantly begin shoving pop ups in your face claiming you have a system error or that your local law enforcement agency has detected illegal activity from your IP. Yes, I clicked it. There is nothing of importance left on my HDD (it’s all stored safely on an external drive that isn’t connected to the PC at all) because this drive has been slowly dying for weeks and I’m destroying it tomorrow and replacing it with a brand new one, so I decided to take a chance.
These ads, which are on pretty much every page of Simsdom, are what’s called “Ransomware”, and it’s whole purpose is to distract you with fake pop up “warnings” when you click on it so that you don’t realise it’s actually downloading a very harmful file to your computer in the background. It’s designed to be next to impossible to close the pop ups, so that even if you somehow became aware of the download happening, you couldn’t get past the pop ups to stop it before it’s had time to finish downloading and automatically begin running it’s payload when it’s done.
What payload? That’s the scariest part, you won’t know until it’s too late. It could be something as simple as a trojan that will force your PC to mine bitcoins, which is still harmful because these mining trojans are resource hogs and put a massive strain on your CPU. Or a trojan designed to target and encrypt specific files on your computer (usually sensitive ones) and demand you pay a literal ransom (usually either in bitcoin or pre-paid cash) and if you don’t, your files will either be complete erased or leaked.
Or worse still, it could be something even more sinister such as a key-logger; a piece of spyware that is designed to track and log EVERY. SINGLE. KEY. you touch on your keyboard. So every password you use, every online banking key code you enter, all the conversations you have via Discord, Twitter, Tumblr, or any other form of instant messaging, that fanfiction you’ve been working on that you are too scared to show anyone in case they think you’re a pervert, your credit card and bank account number you use to shop online, what porn you look for, even your Google search history (regardless of if you’re incognito); all of it will be no longer private and in the hands of someone who could use it to steal your identity, empty out your bank accounts, charge thousands of dollars worth of goods to your credit card, or expose every little strange thing you do on your computer that you thought no one would ever find out about, unless you pay their ransom.
Scary huh?
Also notice that those Get Famous recolours I made don’t say that they actually require Get Famous? Why is that a problem, you say? For most people it’s not, you see “Get Famous Recolours” and you automatically know you need Get Famous to use them, but what about people who are new to using CC and don’t know that for my recolours to work you need the pack they came from? Yeh, that’s a problem, because that particular download is one of those ones that leads straight to SimFileShare:
It leads directly to the merged file, which is NOT the only file available for download in that set, just the largest. But no one who finds my content on Simsdom will ever know that will they? Nor will they read the part of the download page that clearly states Get Famous is required to use the recolours.
I hear you saying “But adblockers are a thing”. Yes they are, but that doesn’t solve the issue of them linking straight to the file. And also, here’s what happens when you try to download something from Simsdom with an adblocker enabled:
You’re forced to wait 180 seconds before the download button appears. THREE WHOLE MINUTES in which you cannot move from that page or the counter will stop, and it will only restart when you go back to that page and stay there for the entire three minutes. Even Adfly isn’t that gross.
So, all of that isn’t enough to discourage you from using this vile site you say? Well, let me introduce you to the person/people who run the site. There are plenty of examples floating around Tumblr of how disrespectful, arrogant, immature, and disturbing the owner/s are (just search for “Simsdom” and you’ll see) but here’s just a few posts showing “receipts” of what happened to creators when they ask for their content to be removed from the site: Here, here, and here.
They have threatened to doxx several creators, tried to blackmail others, threatened to shut down some people’s sites, and even actually refused to remove people’s content unless they say “please”; as though these creators are six year old children who need to learn a lesson for not wanting THEIR content on someone else’s website!
All of this was said AFTER they made a post on their Tumblr saying they would respect creators wishes to not have their content on their site. I myself had a run-in with them as well but I don’t have the receipts because as soon as they finally agreed to remove my content (after almost 4 days of arguing with them and being threatened several times) they blocked me... and they continue to share my content to this day. That’s part of the reason why my motivation to create has been so low lately; I know its just going to end up over there, locked behind a paywall making money for these disgusting people and tricking simmers into thinking they have to pay to access my stuff.
But back to the story! Once they realised 99% of Tumblr creators — the people they get most of their content from — were going to ask to have their creations removed however, they changed their mind and instead started refusing to remove content. In fact, if you go to their website and use the contact form and choose the option “Remove my Content” they literally ask if you are Tumblr creator or not, and if you say you are, this is what you get:
And that “Our Rights here” link? That leads to this nonsense that literally contradicts itself with almost every single sentence:
“Creations can’t be uploaded without the creators permission... but we do not need permission to share your creations” “Feel free to contact us to ask to remove your content... but actually don’t bother contacting us asking to remove your content because we won’t” “SimsDomination is a free website... We don’t steal any content... *literally has other people’s free content locked behind a paywall and charges people membership fees to remove said paywall*”
And as for the EA terms part... I have news for you Simsdom, YOU are the only one breaking EA’s terms of use by putting content behind paywalls. I’m an EA Game Changer, I have actually read the terms of use AND spoken at length on the topics of earning revenue from CC, and why paywalls/memberships/exclusives are against EA’s terms of use with the Sim Gurus, have you? Didn’t think so.
If you had, you’d realise that we are allowed to earn revenue from our CC by having ads on our blogs/sites provided they aren’t deceptive — you know, like that ad with the big blue button you have that shows up on every single page of your site — and don’t lead to anything malicious, which yours do. I clicked several of the ads on your site and they all either lead to disgusting 18+ websites, started producing ransomware pop ups like I described earlier, or tried to download a mysterious file called setup.exe to my computer (which was most likely a trojan as well). We are also allowed to earn revenue via donations and Patreon early access systems provided the content is also made available for free to the general public within 14 days.
We are not, however, allowed to lock content behind Patreon exclusives, memberships and paywalls such as Adfly; which is exactly what you are doing. Like Adfly, you are not only potentially exposing underage children to 18+ content and risking the safety of people’s PCs, but you are also forcing them to wait to click a link and charging membership fees to avoid having to wait to download said content that isn’t even yours; content that you have been asked REPEATEDLY to remove. That is the very definition of a paywall. It is NOT the same as Pinterest or Facebook AT ALL, they might have ads but they aren’t malicious and they do not force people to wait to view content.
- UPDATE -
In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, this is probably one of my most favourite Simsdom lies, because it never changes but it’s so easy to prove false! “Users don’t need to pay to download any content and don’t need to wait to download them” Oh really? Shall we take a look at your site on the old SimilarWeb that you love so much?
How strange. If you don’t make people wait, then why do you need adfly? And if no one has to pay, then why do you need premium memberships to get rid of the ads and wait time you don’t have? Odd.
Also, lets talk Adsense. I never said I had a problem with you having ads on your site; I said I had a problem with the TYPE of ads on your site. If you seriously don’t think your ads are in any way harmful, I’d suggest you take another look at your Adsense, because either it’s been hacked or you seriously don’t know what you’re doing. Oh, but that’s right, “Google will never display suspicious ADs“... Mmm hmm, you just go right on believe that. Yeh, it’s definitely not possible for Google to be hacked... Nope, definitely not.
Also, if you use your Adsense revenue to pay for your site.... what happens to the extra? Because based on your SimilarWeb page I can take a rough guess at how much you earn every month through Adsense alone and there’s no way your site costs that much to run. For that matter, where does all the extra revenue from Adfly, Short.st and this mysterious “other” go? And all the revenue you get from your premium subscriptions that you totally don’t charge people money for?...
Is that fish I smell?
You are not doing anyone any favours here, so stop pretending that you’re in this for anything other than money. Stop sharing content you’ve been asked REPEATEDLY to remove/not share and breaking EA’s and many creators TOUs!
If you’ve managed to make it this far, congrats lol I know this has been long and probably boring but thank you for taking the time to read the whole thing. All this post was meant to do was explain why people should not support Simsdom, and why I’m so disappointed in other Game Changers for promoting it, but it kind of got away from me a little.
Oh well, now you know what Simsdom is and why I will NEVER support them or willingly allow my content to be shared on their site. And if you do decide to still use their site, just... please be careful. My content will always be free and safe to download, just like the majority or CC creators here on Tumblr. Don’t pay for something you can get for free from the original source.
Also, if you’re looking for a Lana replacement (aka a good CC finds blogs that isn’t shady af like Simsdom) check out @maxismatchccworld!
- UPDATE -
This isn’t in relation to anything specific, just the situation as a whole. It seems Simsdom has just removed the search box from their website completely:
I’m sure it was totally legit reasons and not at all because they didn’t want anyone searching for their own content on the Simsdom website. Just like it wasn’t for that reason the last time too...

Arx Erebos Extras: Outtakes from The Boneyard and an Arxian Townies Lookbook.
I made this little video/ gif to be a part of Part Three but it didn’t make the cut. My posts aren’t that frequent, but I do spend a sh*t-ton of time editing lots and townies to fit into Arx Erebos-- so even if I’m just doing game-play stuff -- my lots do function, and any townies wandering around look like they belong there (though I have not figured out how to stop them from wearing wrestling outfits and animal costumes whenever it strikes their fancy.)
For awhile there, I tried just using EA clothes to get the look, so these townies have relatively little CC, but they’re all made over to be more maxis-mix as well.
Thorne Bailey: Jacket [Get Famous] // Pants [Outdoor Retreat // Boots [Get to Work] // Necklace by @mochizencc

Eco Lifestyle CAS ♥ Hide & Disable for Random
View the rest in the series for other packs here!
Note: While the thumbnail displays options for Adult Female, this mod includes CAS items for all ages, genders, species, occult, etc.
This is a default replacement / override to hide all CAS parts included in the Eco Lifestyle pack. All are organized into folders so you can easily mix and match what things you want to keep, and what you want to hide! No more scrolling through huge lists of hair, makeup, clothing, etc. that you don’t use, waiting for it all to load, or seeing it around on other sims!
Download { mediafire } ♥ no adfly
But before you download, here’s how to use these files ~
A few things to note ...
While all of these files should be disabled for random (unless I’ve sleepily misclicked somewhere while I went through each file), sims will sometimes still appear wearing them. I’ve noticed that while testing the mod, if you have all clothing hidden and disabled, and not enough CC clothing to make up the difference, sims will start wearing random stuff just to avoid being naked.
However, I doubt this will be a problem for anyone, as I doubt people want to play a Sims game with zero clothing options!
While I’ve tested this mod as much as I can, nothing is ever 100% certain. If you run into any issues or bugs, please let me know without hesitation!
What this mod doesn’t do ...
Affect any CC that uses Eco Lifestyle meshes or files. They will appear as normal.
Change premade sims like Bob Pancakes, Bella Goth, etc.
Change premade sims that appear when you enter Create-a-Sim
Change NPCs like the Tragic Clown, Grim Reaper, etc.
Stop sims from wearing premade career outfits
Stop sims from wearing special event outfits like Bear Night, etc.
Delete any files from your game or computer. It just hides them!
What this mod will conflict with ...
Anything that replaces or overrides Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle accessories, clothing, or hair.
An easy way to tell if you have conflicting mods is to run the Package Conflict Detector program which will easily tell you if there’s a problem.
How do I unhide something?
Open the .package file in Sims4Studio to double-check it’s the item you want to keep. (optional)
Delete the .package file.
The item will now be displayed in CAS again and can appear on random sims.
How do I unhide only certain swatches of something?
Method 1:
Open the .package file in Sims4Studio.
Click on the swatch you want to unhide and click “Remove Swatch” in the upper right hand corner.
The swatches will now be displayed in CAS again and can appear on random sims.
Method 2:
This method is slightly more complex, but this is normally what I use as it allows me to change the categories, flags, color tags, etc. on the item as if it were CC. It will also appear in your game with the CC mark on it.
It also means if you would like to return to hiding the file, you can just delete the cloned file instead of redownloading this mod to get the full hider to use again.
Open TS4 CAS Tools
Set the filters for the item you are looking for (gender, age, game pack, etc.) on the dropdown menus.
Check “Clone Game CAS Parts” on the upper left-hand side.
Search for the item with the same file name as the .package
Click the item name, then on the right-hand side of the screen, select the swatches you want to keep.
Beside “Select Options” at the bottom of the screen, select “New custom content”.
Name the file however you wish and click “Clone!”
The original item has been cloned, but with only your chosen swatches. The swatches will now be displayed in CAS again and can appear on random sims.
How do I keep the items hidden, but still enable them for random?
Move the .package files you’d like to enable for random to their own folder.
Open Sims4Studio.
Go to Content Management > Batch Fixes > CAS > Allow CC for Random.
Set the “Mods Folder” to the folder of files you have set aside.
Click “Run”.
To enable them for different occults, you will do the same process, but click “Allow CC for (Occult Name)” instead of “Random”.

Yikes- the hate wagon is getting a bit crazy- all about adfly ? Smh. I agree adfly is really gross to use because it has the potential to get viruses and people who aren’t technically savvy may not know what to do and accidentally get a virus or something bad for their computer. Also, the creator only gets 5 cents for something that might give a Trojan to a computer. I personally don’t think that’s very nice for creators to use, but that’s just me. I’ve used adfly blockers and I’ve never had a problem though. It’s up to each person though. I think why people are getting upset at you is because you are being a bit rude and defensive. Another anon said that because of language barriers and your native language being Russian, it comes off as rude. I don’t think you mean that, but that’s how it seems to other people. However, I do think you shouldn’t call people stupid or mentally ill- some people are simply a bit ignorant( not knowing much) when it comes to computer protection. Calling people names doesn’t make your side look good. The fault is partially on the downloader and creator. I hope this makes sense! This isn’t an attack on you, just some feedback. I hope the craziness can stop, especially on simblr. It’s toxic and discouraging to be honest. Those are just my two cents :) Hope you enjoy your day
But this is not technical knowledge.. it is basic security knowledge like that you should not give your personal data to strangers on the street. The feeling that people have just entered society not knowing what to do will not leave me for a long time, although in what year do we live there? New tech-legged age? It seems to be said loudly for some of them. The creator deliberately does not infect anyone with Trojans and other viruses, the purpose of adfly for the creator is to get a cent for clicking on the link. It's all. You didn't have a problem because you probably defended yourself enough? What they cannot do because of their ignorance. It's okay to accept the fact that you are a bit dumb and then try to fix the problem and learn something new. This is useful not only for your horizons, but also for your protection. Maybe you think that I myself have never caught viruses? This is not true. When this happened for the first time, I thought about safety, and did not blame everyone around that it was they who infected me (I said the obvious things again, but they will not understand from the 200th time). How can you communicate with such stubborn and incapable of thinking broadly? Try to prove something to them and you will be doused with even more shit, because they misunderstood or their opinion differs from mine. Thank you for your wishes, I wish you the same, stay safe! But something tells me that people will carry shit to the last. So I'm going to make a tag for this page so that you don't see any announcements in your feed if you don't want to.

Okay, it hurts a lot, i want to cry
I never use adfly in patreon, only in public post :( what am i doing wrong? dont like my content? :( I fell really bad about this, i was really excited but really, i feel really bad….
I know that my content is not the best, but I do what I can and with a lot of love, I try to learn a lot for you, with the money I wanted to pay for some 3D animation classes to create better things … I really want to cry
I’m going to … take a break from this, I think I’m really not doing something right or because I can never create something and you like it, honestly I was super excited
Sorry for the adlfy but I need money and although they think that I earn money with adfly, I don’t, I earn very little every 2 or 3 months because I never reach the goal. It was not my intention to hurt them with adfly ….
My downloads will still be here, I’ll just take a break, I’m not exaggerating I feel very bad
But I’ll stop writing. These types of publications never matter to them
Quico change Well, my cc = my rules, if you dont like it, so sorry :)

I really like your nintendo switch theme but the when I tried to download it, it was stopped because of a virus. Is there any other way I could get the code?
yeah, sorry about that, it’s because i used to put adfly in my code links but i don’t think it’s worth it anymore bc the hits didn’t actually amount to much anyway - but now i can’t even edit the posts to remove the links because tumblr automatically detects the ad link and suspends my account LMAO so i guess the posts are just under quarantine.
but you can access all of my themes from here if you’d like: https://pastebin.com/u/Laighlin/1/511vX1TP

I never liked TS3, but your recent gameplay pics makes it seem so fun. How many packs do you have? Do you play with any mods? This is unrelated, but I was wondering what are your opinions on Sims 4? I am asking because I love sims, but don't enjoy anything beyond sims 2 and it is becoming increasingly difficult to play the game on modern computers. My playstyle seems to match yours, so I would like to know your thoughts.
You know, I didn’t like TS3 for years. I think it was because I really wanted it to be TS2, only better. Like, the same exact game only with better graphics, more freedom with the open world, etc. When I tried to play TS3, I was spending so much time comparing it with 2 that I couldn’t appreciate it on its own merits, as a completely different creature. Which it definitely is…
And I babbled a lot (What a surprise!), so I’ll cut the rest. I just woke up, so pardon my incoherent rambling. :)
Once I finally accepted that TS3 isn’t TS2, I started to enjoy 3 a lot more, and then I started to discover its own unique strengths. Because it does have strengths over TS2 – gardening and its tight integration with cooking, for one, plus the adventure-vacations and, oh yeah, HORSES and the other pets that, annoying routing aside, are just better than TS2’s – although there are many things that I like better in TS2, of course. Primarily building. I love building neighborhoods from the ground up in TS2. Doing that is why I got the game in the first place. In TS3? I HATE BUILDING WITH THE FIRE OF A THOUSAND SUNS. (So I’m really thankful for the people who enjoy making custom worlds! :D ) I just want to open up a fully-built, ready-to-go, but unpopulated world -- and if it’s populated I just nuke everyone with Master Controller -- and play TS3 because its gameplay is actually really fun, IMO, once you stop expecting it to be TS2. Now, to be fair, I haven’t gotten tired of TS3’s gameplay probably because I haven’t been playing the game for a solid decade, so I haven’t done all the stuff a million times yet. But in TS2, I’m starting to find the gameplay really tiresome, even with all the mods to make it more interesting. So, I break up the tedium with building, while my “playing batteries” recharge. I can see me coming to a point where I’ll stop wanting to play it, though, and just want to build in it and make stuff needed for what I build. But I still have fun playing TS3, so...yeah.
Anyway, I have all the TS3 EPs, and I kind of consider all of them essential because they all add bits (or large chunks!) of gameplay that I like. I only have one of the stuff packs – High End Loft Stuff or something? – because the base game I bought had that bundled with it. I have also *ahem* acquired *ahem* all of the store worlds and the interesting-to-me store items. (Like the canning station and the gardening/greenhouse/farm stuff and the glass-blowing/jewelry-making and the bakery set and the OFB-like stuff and…Well, you get the idea. :) )
And I have many, many mods. I have more mods than anything else, when it comes to third-party content for the game. I have pretty much all of the NRAAS mods, some of which – like Master Controller, Error Trap, and Overwatch – are essential for keeping the game running smoothly, and some of which add fun stuff. Like Traveler, which makes it so that you can have Sims living in multiple worlds in a single save (sort of like a neighborhood + subhoods in TS2), and you can bounce between them. It’s probably my favorite mod of them all. Other non-NRAAS faves involve gardening/cooking, whole packs of new plants for growing new ingredients that are needed for new recipes for the game, including cuisines for different cultures. (Greek, Indian, Mexican, etc.) Still others add more abilities and interactions for children, toddlers, and babies.
And then there’s the “adult” mod, “Kinky World,” which adds realistic animated sex and various sorts of stuff for grown-ups. I have much of it disabled because I’m not interested in having things like rape and incest and bestiality in my game, but I’m OK with drug use and sex work and especially the customizable menstrual cycle that makes baby-making far more realistic, in addition to various services added to the hospital rabbithole (sterilization procedures for both sexes as well as some sex reassignment procedures), and…Well, I confess that the flashers amuse the hell out of me, specifically different Sims’s reactions to them. *laugh* The “Kinky World” mod certainly isn’t for everyone and it does throw errors and such and the admins on the NRAAS forum really poo-poo its shoddy coding, so you probably shouldn’t use it in a save that you really care about keeping around long-term, but if you’re into that sort of stuff and you’re just screwing around (pun intended :) ), it has some interesting features. I wish I could have the menstrual cycle from it all by itself because that’s mostly why I use it.
Overall, when it comes to TS3, I think you sort of have to find your bliss with it. Go into it with an open mind, explore the game unmodded for a while, try out various aspects of its gameplay, and then decide what you don’t like and look into how to fiddle with it with mods and CC and such. Like, I thought I’d hate the whole Story Progression thing – and I would hate it, in a TS2 context – but in TS3 I actually enjoy losing (some) control over my playables when I’m not playing them. It adds randomness, sort of like things like ACR does in TS2. That said, EA’s story progression sucks in various ways. Get NRAAS’s Story Progression. It’s huge and has a scary-looking learning curve but also has extensive documentation on the NRAAS site as to what everything does, and once you get used to it, it’s really cool. You can basically decide, on a very detailed level, which things you’re OK with the game deciding as opposed to you deciding, so you can get rid of the annoying things about EA’s progression while still keeping the general idea of it.
So…yeah. Play the game with an open mind, with a “I’m just testing” sort of mindset. Find out what you do and don’t like about it, on its own merits, and don’t just assume that the things you like in 3 will be the same as the things you like in 2 because they very well might not be. Then spend time exploring mods and CC (and prepare to be enraged by Adfly and such! :P ) to change how the game works and what it looks like and stuff like that.
I did a lot of experimenting over the course of various stabs at the game over the years, trying to find something to like. I quickly discovered that the “build-a-city-esque” way I generally play in TS2 was out because I hate building in TS3, but I also discovered that, like in TS2, I’ll get bored if I only play one household all the time. So, I do still like a rotational set-up. Happily, it is pretty simple, with NRAAS’s Story Progression’s “caste” system, to do rotational play in TS3. (There’s a “how to set this up” tutorial of sorts here.) This is what I found that I like best; I’m still in the process of fiddling with the Story Progression settings for non-active playable households, to determine what level of control over them I really want. (Turns out, it’s less control than I thought I’d want, but there are still some things that I don’t want to happen without my consent.) Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is to, at first, play some “throwaway” saves in the game that you just experiment with stuff, to find worlds you like (I highly recommend My Sim Realty’s worlds because they’re CC and store-content free as well as well-constructed – no lag – and attractive) and to find out what you like in terms of gameplay. For you, it might turn out that you like nothing…or you may find that you like a lot of things. And, yes, TS3 still runs well (when modded to fix some of its inherent flaws) on modern machines. I mean, EA still sells it, after all, so it kinda has to. :)
And finally, speaking of inherent flaws… I think TS3 is the proverbial red-haired stepchild of the franchise mostly because of two things:
One, while it has grand ideas – i.e., the fully open world – it’s just not executed well. For instance, there are many construction errors in the EA worlds that cause Sims to get stuck, and when a bunch of Sims are stuck but the game still tries to make them do things, it gums up the whole works, resulting in lag, lag, lag. There are fixed EA worlds out there, though, so if you try out the game and want to play an EA world, I highly recommend finding a fixed version, so you don’t get frustrated by the world’s EA-created issues. They’re all a bit screwy in this regard, but the worst offenders are Bridgeport from Late Night and Isla Paradiso from Island Paradise. Basically, EA tried to do it all and so did most of it half-assedly. The game pretty much requires fixed worlds (if you use the EA worlds) and the error-fixing NRAAS mods in order to run smoothly. IME, custom worlds tend to run better. Not always, because some creators are just better/more experienced than others, but generally speaking. It’s probably because world creators are crafting labors of love rather than operating under pressure and a strict time-deficient production schedule. :)
Two, people were like me: They wanted TS3 to be TS2, only better, but it's not that at all. It’s a completely different game in many respects, and it seems to me that many people just couldn’t accept that. I’ve never played TS4 (so I have no opinions about it, I’m afraid), but from what I’ve seen it seems a little more 2-like, and it’s more cartoon-like (whereas TS3 was going more for realism, the pudding-Sims aside) in a way that’s more reminiscent of a “Maxis-match” TS2 game. And it’s also not the resource hog that playing a huge world in TS3 can be. So, I can see why a lot of people play TS2 and TS4 but skip TS3. I always have a tendency to zig when everyone else zags, though, and I kinda really like TS3. Go figure. *shrug*
