It was Kate’s own fault that she found herself in the position she was in now.
If she hadn’t been so greedy and had just waited for you to come home, you would have indulged her all night. But no, the archer just had to get that rampant rabbit out of the toy drawer and use it on herself while you were out working hard on a mission.
When you got home to discover her moaning and writhing on your shared bed with the cute purple toy stimulating both her clit and her g-spot, you were quite bluntly, furious. It was the one rule you had set for her while you were away - she was not to touch herself without your permission.
You had barely removed any of your clothes before you had tugged on her ankle, dragging her to the edge of the bed and pulling the toy out of her.
Clearly having just denied her orgasm, Kate looked up at you with an initial grumpy look which soon turned to fear as she realised she was in for a tough shift.
“You’re home!” She exclaimed, both happy to see you and anxious as to what you were about to do.
You tutted, looking down at her and tauntingly turned off the toy that was still buzzing away.
“Good to know I wasn’t missed.” You responded with a tut, waving the toy that shone with her arousal dripping over it in Kate’s face. “You know the rules, Katie.”
Kate swallowed thickly, a deep scarlet colour now adorning her cheeks as you patronised her. She opened her mouth to defend herself but you bet her to it by flipping her round and bending her over with ease.
The raven haired girl let out a surprised gasp at your roughness, propping herself on her elbows and arching her back to expose her ass and sopping cunt to you. Your hands went to her ass cheeks, kneading the skin and digging your nails in to make Kate wince.
“You know, Kate, if you’d just waited for me, you could have been sitting on my face right now. But you’re a greedy little slut. And what do sluts get?” You spoke harshly to her. Kate dropped her head so her long hair would cover her face and hide how humiliated she was. It didn’t escape her notice that you were still fully dressed while she was naked and completely at your mercy.
“Sluts get punished.” She mumbled.
You raised your hand and cracked it down hard on her ass, cupping at the skin while her whole body was jolted forward and she let out a pained whine. She tried to squirm away from you but you put your hands on her hips and yanked her back into position.
“Sluts get punished.” You affirmed, spanking her again and smirking at her soft moan. “I’m gonna spank you until I get tired, okay? You know your safe word, don’t you?”
“Red.” She replied and a dark grin spread across your lips.
“That’s right, slut.”
You spanked Kate over and over, leaving a red raw handprint on her sensitive ass cheek. With each smack, her body was thrown forward. Her legs caved inwards, as if to shield her cunt but over time you noticed just how wet and swollen she was.
Kate cried out each time, throwing her head back. Whilst she was facing away from you, it was quite clear by the sounds she was making that tears were streaming down her face.
“God, Kate. You’re an avenger and you can’t even take a spanking? Pathetic.” You mocked as you landed another harsh smack, massaging it with your hand and then raising your arm for another one.
“Master, please! I’m sorry!” She sobbed uncontrollably.
You traced your finger along her dripping pussy, gathering some of her arousal and bringing it to your mouth to taste it.
“Tastes like you’re not very sorry, I think you’re enjoying this too much. Did you plan this, Katie?” You smirked, taking a break from the punishment to admire your handiwork on her abused ass cheek.
Kate’s chest dipped to rest on the bed, burying her face in the sheets while her ass remained in the air. She was spent and you could tell. Yet the way she still had herself presented to you suggested she was able to take more.
“Why don’t we make this more interesting, huh?” You teased and watched Kate’s hips wiggle in anticipation for what was to come next.
You reached over, picking up the toy again and turning it on. Your girlfriend looked round at you with a fearful and tear stained expression.
“I’m gonna put this back inside you, since you’re so greedy for it. And I’m gonna keep spanking you. Got that, slut?” You explained, pressing the toy back into her and angling it so it could stimulate her two favourite spots perfectly.
Kate moaned at the intrusion and gripped on to the sheets. She rolled her hips, clearly grinding against the toy to get as much from it as possible.
It didn’t even come to her attention that you had selected a paddle for the latter half of your punishment. The first she became aware of its introduction to your play was when the cool wood hit her neglected ass cheek and she screamed.
“Like I said, baby. Sluts get punished.” You smirked while Kate whined.
“Now show me how much of a fucking whore you are and fuck yourself on this toy.” You commanded as you held the base of the rabbit in place and watched as Kate reluctantly started to grind herself on it. Every time the vibe had bottomed out inside her and her ass cheeks met your arm, you spanked her with the paddle again.
Kate became a squirming and moaning mess as the mixture of pleasure and pain took over. She gripped on to the sheets as she began to fuck herself faster at the cost of being hit more times with the paddle.
“Master.” She panted desperately. “Gonna cum.”
“I don’t fucking think so.” You responded, hitting her harder with the paddle which prompted a shriek from her.
“I can’t hold it! Please! Master, please let me cum!” She begged as sobs racked her aching frame. She babbled endlessly with whines and wails which only increased as you turned the setting up on the toy.
Skilfully, you kept a close eye on the situation and monitored as she was just about to cum. A hard smack with the paddle was accompanied with you pulling the toy out of her, denying her an orgasm for the second time tonight.
Kate cried out in despair, her legs clenching together and her full body writhing as she mourned the loss of pleasure she had been so close to receiving. She lay against the sheets, with little defeated moans and squirming helplessly.
You softened, knowing that it was time for you to stop. Whilst she hadn’t used her safe word, you knew better than to push her to the point she had to use it. One hand massaged her sore ass while the other reached over, gently brushing her hair out of her face. You leaned over, pressing some soft kisses to her cheek.
“Did so good for me, Katie. Took your punishment like such a strong girl. I’m so proud.” You whispered to her in a tone far more compassionate than you had been using with her all night.
Kate sniffled in response, clutching on to the bedsheets. Her eyes closed in relief as your hand soothed over the hand prints and paddle marks.
“Just missed Master so much.” She whimpered, turning her body round fully to face you and gripping on to the Kevlar of your mission suit.
“I know, baby.” You soothed, pressing a lingering kiss to her forehead. “I think you’ve learned your lesson now, haven’t you?”
Kate nodded meekly in response, having well and truly learned her lesson.
“Good, because now I’m gonna show you what I really had planned for me coming home.”

As Fate Would Have It
❥ Valentines Drabbles: Day 11
❥ Pairing: Sick Kate x Sick Reader
❥ Wordcount: 1070
[ Previous || Next ]
AN: Well, this ‘drabble’ turned out longer then expected… oops (also its not edited, because I enjoy letting you all read my dreadful grammar”
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚:
Fate. You didn’t really believe in fate. Or at least that’s what you used to believe. But that belief was soon changed, all be it in the strangest way.
Who would ever think something as simple as a meer cold could bring two people together. Of course you’d seen her around. The girl in the apartment across the hall. That dark haired girl - the one with the amazing style, super cute smile, and oh just thinking of her sparkling eyes was enough to bring a gentle blush to your face. You’d spoken to her once or twice. You’d learned her name was Kate. Each time you spoken, you learned more about her and it only increased the more that you wanted to know but you’d always been too nervous to invite her in…
But you’d never guess that this would be the way you’d finally interact. It started with a cold. You’d woken up that morning with a horribly stuffed-up nose and a headache which felt akin to be being stomped on by multiple elephants at once.
You dragged yourself out of bed and shivered helplessly feeling the cool air hit your skin as you staggered to the bathroom. You grumbled in annoyance as you opened your cabinet and discovered that there was nothing there, nothing that you needed atleast. A half-full tube of toothpaste and an empty packet of paracetamol were the only items on the shelf inside.
That’s it. You’d have to go to the shop. Coughing as you did, you forced yourself to change into something that would make you at least look somewhat alive and stumbled out of your apartment down to the closest shop.
Loud, busy and crammed. Those were the three words you’d used to describe the atmosphere of the shop. Wanting as little human contact as possible, you made a bee-line for the pharmaceutical aisle.
To your surprise, the shop shelves were dwindling in supplies to say the least. Cold and Flu season seemed to be taking its toll of their stock. Not wanting to be here much longer, you quickly picked up two bottles of cold medicine and some throat lozenges - cherry flavoured of course. You heard the sound of a feminine sneeze somewhere else in the shop and that reminded you of the final thing you needed. Tissues.
It took you longer then expected to find them and as you did, only one remaining box sat on the shelf where they should’ve been. A sense of relief washed over you as you extended out your hand to take them but instead of grabbing the tissues, your hand touched something else.
Another hand.
A small gasp left your chest as you recognised your neighbour. Her easy identifiable hair hanging in loose threads beside her face. She smiled sweetly at you, the only flaw in the image being her sniffling nose and fever flushed cheeks. And she gave a small laugh as you both retracted your hands from the box.
“Sorry did you want this?” Her voice was different, raspy. In a way it was strangely intoxicating.
“You got this cold too?” You asked as she briefly turned away from you to stifle a high pitch sneeze into her hoodie.
“I think the whole city has it.” She groaned, trying to subtly wipe her nose with her sleeve, “I came here to get some supplies, I guess you did too?” She said, nodding down to your basket.
You nodded, turned away from her slightly to muffle a chesty sounding cough into your elbow which was soon followed by a set of sickly, wet sneezes.
“Bless you,” Kate offered as she hesitantly reached out to rub your shoulder, “You really don’t sound too good.” That was true, but her words were rich considering that she had to turn away to cough too only moments later.
“Well… I guess I should let you have these then.” You smiled, picking up the tissue box and holding it out to her.
“No, no. You take them.” Kate shook her hand, pushing the tissues back towards you, “I’ll just pick up some kitchen roll or something, that’ll do.”
“No- Kate, that’ll only make your nose all chapped, you should take them-“
“I’ll have them!” And with that a spritely young man took the box from the both of your hands, tucking it under his arm and leaving without another word. Leaving the two of you absolutely stunned, your mouths hanging open in shock.
“What…”
“The hell.” You interjected, finishing her sentence.
“What the hell was that?” Kate’s voice lifted a few octaves with her shock, “who does that?!”
You and Kate exchange looks of sheer, unquenchable disbelief. It feels so absurd that something like this was happening to you personally. "Did you... did you know him?" Kate queries, her shock giving way to righteous fury. "What kind of rude little twat snatches something from our hands and just runs?" "Who does that?!" She repeated as you watched on with shock.
“An idiot… thats who.” You shook your head, and a moment of silence stretched out before Kate quickly snapped out to sneeze down into her hands.
“Bless you Katie. I suppose we better both get some kitchen roll.” You reached to squeeze her own shoulder, echoing the gesture she had given you earlier. The pair of you walked from the aisle towards the kitchen supplies and went to grab a packet of kitchen roll. But just as you picked it up, it revealed something else, something hidden out of sight behind it.
Another tissue box… this time it really was the very last one.
You and Kate shared another glance, this time one of relief at the fact that your noses wouldn’t have to suffer the abuse of itchy, uncomfortable kitchen roll. But there was still one problem. Who would get the box?
“We could share it?” Kate offered, filling the silence, “My apartment’s empty if you wanted to come over, this way we can both use them. If- if you wanted of course.”
“That’s a great idea.”
And by the end of the night, the two of you were safely huddled under Kate’s big blanket as you sat on her sofa sharing stories and getting to know each other. That fateful tissue box sitting right in the middle of you. Who knew you’d meet your future girlfriend this way. You didn’t, but fate certainly did.

Warning: Kind of steamy, mentions semi nudity (on the reader's part)
It was all her fault. She was too distracted staring at you to actually help out with the mission, resulting in you getting you shot and regardless fighting like a badass.
Now you were in you both were in the hotel room, you were sitting down on the floor back to the bed and she was pacing around looking for the medical kit talking about how stupid she was for being distracted.
"It's in the cupboard second drawer to the left." She quickly took it out and rushed towards you.
"I'm sorry I didn't help you out on there mission, I was" "Too busy staring at me. I know." You manage to groan out.
She was in shock. "I- I'm gonna take the bullet out now ok?" And she was once again distracted by hot you looked.
Your eyes were closed tightly in a way that could be mistaken for pleasure, head leaning on the bed, face to the ceiling.
"I think you'll need to take off my shirt/ pull down my dress for that. Unless you have some secret abilities you've been hiding from me."
And she panicking internally oh my god you were asking her to take your clothes off and with the way you were positioned, groaning under her, she couldn't help imagine another scenario with you positioned just like that begging.
She cleared her throat and knelt down next to you. She undressed you and try to make eye contact instead of staring at your chest.
You let out a groan of pain that sounded too much like a moan. That's what did it.
She suddenly grabbed your face and kissed you. She began straddling you as you reciprocated weakly.
She accidentally grabbed you shoulder making you wince. "Still bleeding." You say
"Sorry" She apologised. You let out a chuckle "How long have you been holding that back?"
"Since we met."

The first time you actually slept in years was by her side.
You were calm, resting your head against Kate’s chest, listening to her heartbeat and feeling her fingers play with your hair softly. That was heaven for you. Much to your surprise your eyes started to feel heavy and the world seemed even more distant as the slumber got a hold of you.
Soon you fell asleep deeply and without worries, feeling somehow safe after all that time.
The softness from the moment lasted for only a small amount of time since it was the first time you had a nightmare. A real nightmare.
When you don’t sleep it is so easy to run from them, to run from the pranks your own mind plays on you. When you have no one to worry besides yourself there’s not too much to be afraid of besides death — maybe you could say you were more afraid of pain than death itself. But one second of relaxation is all you need to let your guard down and the nightmares…
Oh, they appear stronger than ever after that one moment. Scarier than ever.
It might look simple for anyone looking from the outside, but the dread it caused inside you wasn't even near simplicity.
Kate was in front of you, but the lack of a smile on her face was unusual. You tilted your head, noticing something coming behind her. It was a masked figure, you couldn’t figure out who but you knew too well what was in its hands.
A gun, and it seemed like a loaded one.
The problem was that you took a step forward and it made no difference, instead a dark smoke started to fill the space between you two, blurring Kate’s image in your mind. You took another step forward but the darkness only thickened, only held you back with more force.
And you were alone.
Not completely alone because you heard fighting but you couldn’t see it.
You shook and trashed around, trying to escape it in every way you could imagine, just not knowing there wasn’t a way to run from your own imagination. The numerous attempts to scream were in vain, in dreams like that there was no way to scream, to beg, nor to cry.
The only thing able to wake you up was the sound of a gun being shot.
“Hey! Hey!” Kate spoke softly as you sat on the bed desperately. “You’re okay.”
You looked at her, the only light was coming from the bedside lamp and you still could realize if you were out of the dream or not. Maybe it was another prank your own mind was playing, making you believe in safety just to take her away from you, just to take Kate away from you…
“Hey.” Kate said again, her hand rested softly against your cheek. “It’s okay.”
Your hands went to hold hers, as if that alone could hold you to this world. A world where after everything you had done you still found her and she wanted you besides all those things.
“You’re safe.” She told you.
“Are— Are you safe?” You managed to ask with a hoarse voice from sleep and the screaming you did seconds ago.
Kate’s eyes watered with the implication you were afraid for her. “I’m very safe. If you want I can even pinch you to make you believe me.”
The joke wasn’t effective to make you smile but your lips curled up slightly and it was enough for that night.
“Do you want to talk about it?” Kate asked you and you buried your head in her chest shaking your head “no”. “It’s okay, we can stay in silence if you want.”
“I don’t think I want that either.” Your voice was muffled against her shirt but it could still be understood.
Your moment was interrupted by Lucky, who jumped in the bed and snuggled between you both. The soft golden fur was a solace to your heart and between Kate’s sweet nonsense and his sweet presence you were able to calm down just enough.
“Do I still need to pinch you?” Kate asked. “Just to be sure, you know.”
You laughed weekly at her antics and pushed her to lay in the bed with you.
“Ready to go back to sleep?” She asked you, making room for Lucky to adjust himself and lay with you two.
“Absolutely not.” You confessed.
“Want to stay up talking then?”
“What subject do you have in mind, Bishop?” You raised a brow at her.
“I do have many options for you to choose…” And she went on about how many subjects she could talk about for a whole night.

A hc/imagine for spending the holidays w Kate (your big sister Kate fics literally fill my heart rn) maybe with Yelena too?!
Spending the Holidays With Kate Bishop Would Include . . .
Personally I hc Kate as Jewish since there was a menorah in her aunt’s house during Hawkeye
But no matter your religion/what holiday you celebrate, Kate wants to celebrate with you
She is the Queen of celebrating holidays and will go all out on each and every one
She absolutely refuses to let you celebrate a holiday alone and will drag Yelena along
Yelena’s definitely resistant at first but she soon warms up to you
You and Yelena gang up on Kate, making her regret all her life decisions
Unfortunately for you, Kate is not a very good cook. She tries, but she fails spectacularly
It doesn’t stop her from trying (and failing) to cook every year
It’s always a disaster, but you love and appreciate it
Which also always ends up in you having to cook or ordering in
You don’t mind, though
Kate invites you over every night of Hanukkah, but makes it clear that you don’t have to come
You go anyway and enjoy seeing her light the menorah and eat matzo ball soup
Kate will also definitely be dragging you outside for snowball fights and to build snowman
Kate wins all the snowball fights. She’s a master at it
She also makes you watch a movie marathon of all the holiday classics
And when you fall asleep, she just tucks the blanket around you and kisses your forehead
Kate spoils you with presents
(It gets a little concerning)
But she loves you and she loves buying you gifts!
Also, you are definitely taking holiday card pictures with Kate and Lucky
You can try to get out of it but Kate is quite persistent
You end up giving in and help her write the note that goes along with the picture :)
Sometimes Yelena or Clint is in the pictures too (mostly Clint)
Speaking of Clint, you are definitely going over to the Barton’s with Kate and Yelena for Christmas Eve and day
It’s always so much fun and the Bartons adore you
You are obviously baking cookies with Kate and the kids for Santa
And have a massive sleepover in the living room
Clint dresses up as Santa Clause and pretends to come in and deliver presents
(Kate doesn’t realize it’s him, almost shoots him with an arrow. Thankfully you stop her)
You and Kate end up all cuddled up by morning
Everyone thinks it’s absolutely adorable
Your favorite part is spending time with Kate, cuddling and watching movies while it’s all cozy and snowing outside
You’re literally always saying you’re cold to get Kate to cuddle or hug you
She very gladly gives in
Kate is just the best person to spend the holidays with, no pressure, no drama
Except, you know, all the superhero drama
Holidays can get pretty crazy sometimes . . .
But that’s a story for another time

Always Something to Learn
Word count: 3,350
Pairing: Kate Bishop x reader (platonic)
Reader pronouns: none used
Warnings: cursing, mentions of weaponry (though not used on anyone), Hawkeye spoilers
Another Prompt completed! This request was for Kate Bishop x reader (my first time writing for her), where both are vigilantes working together and Kate offers to train the reader in combat. This, of course, doesn't go over so well 😉
It took some time to write this one - I had some heavy writers block, and I also had to go back and watch the entire Hawkeye series again to refresh myself 😂 Hopefully I was able to capture Kate's character well enough!
Tumblr media
"Alright. Coast is clear."
"No time to waste, then. Come on."
You waved for Kate to follow you across the vast, perfectly manicured lawn as you dashed silently toward the front of the mansion. Her footsteps were barely audible in the grass behind you. She'd learned well, you thought.
Once across, you ducked into the shadow of the massive home, pressing yourself against the chilled, stucco-sided wall. A faint breeze to your left told you Kate had already joined you in the darkness. You turned your head slightly, holding a finger to your lips to urge her to remain silent as your eyes expertly skimmed the doors, windows, and awnings for signs of a security system.
"Damn. There's infrared sensors across the entire entrance," you hissed.
"How did you-"
"See up there?" You pointed up to the nearly imperceptible black orbs lining the edges of the walls surrounding the door. "Too small to be cameras. Plus, if you look really closely, you can see a faint red light from that sensor straight ahead."
"Wow. Ok, how do we get in, then?" Kate whispered.
"Through the only opening they'd never expect someone to enter."
Kate cocked her head at you in confusion. In response, you pointed straight up toward the roof.
"Based on the most recent satellite photos of this mansion, there's a sky light built into the roof over what I suspect is the foyer based on the placement."
"Great! And... how are we gonna get up there?"
"Aren't you the one with the plunger arrows?" you whispered, a teasing grin spreading across your features.
"I-I knew that. I was... just testing you," she stammered, reaching over her shoulder to unsheathe an arrow. Swiftly, she docked the arrow in her bow and let it fly toward the roof awning. It struck and stuck with a soft thump, leaving a climbing rope hanging from the shaft and dangling in front of the pair of you.
This wasn't the first insufferable rich bastard's house you'd broken into, and it likely wouldn't be the last. Kate, you knew, had some experience with such endeavors herself. It was part of the reason the two of you had hit it off so well after Clint had introduced you. As a long-time family friend of the Bartons, Clint was well acquainted with your heroic (and, admittedly, sometimes illegal) ventures in the pursuit of justice. He had also been insisting for years you needed a partner - although you knew he just wanted to make sure you stayed safe.
Quite frankly, he knew Kate needed a partner even more than you did. After her own home caught fire, combined with her mother being hauled off to jail, she didn't really have a place to go. Who better to pair you up with than the young aspiring hero? You were rather similar, after all.
Kate had been your roommate now for a few months. While you'd developed a fast friendship, you also both loved to push each other's buttons. She was like the sister you never had.
The pair of you made quick work of scaling the building, hoisting yourselves up and onto the roof once you’d reached the top. As you’d anticipated, there sat the sky light embedded in the roof. You cautiously walked across the roof shingles toward the edge of the sky light, inspecting it quickly for signs of security surveillance before pulling out your pocket-sized glass cutter.
“I’m gonna cut an opening through this window - then you can lower me down inside so I can get the stolen necklace.”
“Woah-woah, wait. Why do you get to go inside?” Kate hissed indignantly.
“Because I’m the most experienced with covert break-ins,” you whispered in response. “Not to mention, I’m also the only one who hasn’t gotten caught by the police.”
“Wha- that was one time! And how did you even know about that??”
“Clint tells me everything,” you explained with a sly wink. “Bringing down an entire bell tower with one arrow? Now that’s talent.”
“Ok, well, I still think I should go in. How am I gonna learn if I don’t get to try?”
“I’m going. End of story.”
“Then I won’t lower you down,” she bartered, folding her arms defiantly.
“I’ll just lower myself, then,” you retorted, digging around in your backpack for your rappelling gear.
“W-well then, I won’t lift you back up! You’ll just be stuck in there.”
With a heaving sigh, you paused in your searching to glare exasperatedly at Kate. “You’re not gonna drop this, are you?”
“Nope.”
“Fine.”
Kate whooped silently with excitement as you finally located your rappelling gear and handed it reluctantly to her. You spent the next few minutes instructing her on how to safely lower herself down, reminding her not to turn on any lights, giving her a rundown on how to identify surveillance equipment…
“Ok, ok! I’ve got this. I’ll be fine.” She shot you a confident grin.
“Just… be careful in there, ok?” you urged.
With that, you finished slicing a hole in the glass and began slowly lowering Kate down into the dark mansion. This certainly wasn’t the most dangerous mission you’d been on, but you couldn’t help but feel nervous for your friend’s wellbeing. The owners of the mansion - and dirty thieves, of course - were an older couple who were well past their spry years, mainly because they’d spent most of their lives schmoozing and drinking. The necklace they’d stolen was going to be sold at a charity auction to benefit the city - a cause which they decided they didn’t agree with. Why should they, when the money would only be going to lower income neighborhoods and homeless shelters?
Well, you weren’t going to let that stand.
You felt the rope slacken and jiggle slightly as Kate’s feet touched down on the floor below. She flipped her flashlight on, barely illuminating the area around her before waving up to you. Then, you watched her cautiously wander out of eyesight in search of the prize.
It was an agonizingly long ten minutes that you waited, breath bated in favor of remaining as silent as possible to listen for signs of distress. The room below remained still and quiet.
Until, suddenly, you heard Kate shout.
You nearly readied yourself to repel down after her when she suddenly came running into the foyer, her flashlight bouncing as she sprinted. Someone was chasing her, their shadow barely visible in the moving circle of light surrounding Kate. The pair of them were headed straight for the front door. You clambered to your feet and sprinted to the the edge of the roof, scooping up the climbing rope in your gloved hand as you leapt fearlessly into the darkness. The tight grip on the rope broke your fall, and you made quick work of descending the remaining distance to the ground just as the doors to the mansion burst open.
"Over here!" you hollered, waving for Kate to follow. Her gaze whipped up to meet yours, never once breaking stride as she dashed in your direction. Her pursuant was hot on her heels - a man, you could see now in the dim light of the moon. He couldn't possibly have gotten a good look at either of your faces in the darkness. If the pair of you could escape, it would be nearly impossible for this man to track you down without your names.
As Kate reached your location, you matched her stride, sprinting for the motorbike you had hidden behind the topiaries in the side yard. You risked a brief glance over your shoulder to see your pursuer only about thirty feet behind. He looked to be in his early 40s or so.
"Who the hell is that guy??" Kate hissed.
"I don't know - their son or something?"
"Do they even have a son?"
"No idea! Just keep going, we're nearly there."
You practically dove through the narrow space between bushes, swinging yourself onto the motorcycle and tugging Kate down behind you. The moment you felt her arms tighten around your waist, you threw the bike into drive and peeled out across the lawn, cringing as the bushes scraped the sides of the vehicle. No matter. The scratches would buff out eventually.
Clearly, the man had no idea you had a bike hidden in the side yard. He threw his arms up in frustration as the pair of you faded into the distance, skidding onto the street and zooming down the road with a roar of the engine.
And just like that, you had escaped.
"That was a goddamn close call, Kate - what the hell did you do in there??" you scolded loudly over the rumble of the bike beneath you.
"I don't know! I followed all of your instructions, I swear! He just came out of nowhere!"
"Well you must have tripped some alarm or something!"
"I swear to you, I saw nothing that would suggest a security system went off!"
You were silent for a moment, stewing over the fact that you hadn't been the one to go inside yourself. She needed to learn, of course, but damn if it wasn't frustrating trying to teach her.
"I got the necklace, by the way. Not that you asked."
"You did??" You glanced briefly over your shoulder as you pulled onto a side street off the main road. "Well... great! Glad we at least have that."
The pair of you were silent for the remainder of the ride, opting to save your voices rather than holler over the growl of the engine. At long last, you veered the bike into the parking lot to your apartment complex and parked it farthest from the streetlights illuminating the parking lot entrance to keep a low profile. The silence of the night pressed in on your ears as the rumbling of the bike clicked off.
"I could have taken him, you know," Kate muttered bitterly as you made your way inside. "I didn't want to engage with him, like you said. But I could have totally kicked his ass."
"Mmhmm. I'm sure." You rolled your eyes with a poorly disguised grin of amusement. Kate shoved your shoulder in response.
"I could!! You know I could. Don't pretend you don't."
"Sure. If you insist." You turned your key inside the lock to your front door, motioning for Kate to enter ahead of you as you swung the door open. She stuck her tongue out at you as she stepped past, flipping on the lights inside as you followed her in.
The moment the door shut behind you, you let your weight fall back against it, sliding slowly to the floor in exhaustion. Kate had already stepped over to the kitchen table and hoisted her bow off her shoulder, setting it down on the wooden surface along with her quiver.
"Really, Kate? Weapons on the table? What are you, a barbarian?" you scolded teasingly, picking yourself up off the floor with a tired groan.
"Not like we ever actually eat at the table," she countered, her gaze following you as you sauntered into the living room. She had you there. You shrugged.
"Yeah, but that doesn't mean we can't at least act like we're civilized."
"Civilized?!" Kate laughed, gesturing to where you now stood next to the sofa in the living area. "What civilized person carries that many weapons on them?"
"That doesn't make me uncivilized! That just makes me... overprepared."
With a grunt, you bent down and lifted your left pant leg enough to unbuckle the dagger sheath hidden around your calf, letting it clatter to the floor unceremoniously.
"Overprepared. Yeah." Kate gazed skeptically at you as you continued to unarm yourself. The pistol in the holster at your right hip that you set carefully on the coffee table. Another dagger sheathed in your left sleeve around your bicep that you unbuckled and allowed to drop to the floor beside the first. The small crowbar you kept shoved through the back of your belt, concealed under your shirt, that you tugged loose and dropped to the floor with a sigh of relief. "Seriously - you carry more weapons on you than the Russian army!"
"Do not! This is a perfectly normal quantity of weapons for a vigilante," you argued, removing the final pistol hidden in a pocket along the back of your left thigh and setting it down on the coffee table next to the other.
"What would you do if you didn't have all that metal on you? Wouldn't you feel so much... lighter?"
"Yeah, lighter and defenseless." You crossed the living room and slipped into your bedroom to change, closing the door most of the way behind you.
"You wouldn't be defenseless if you knew how to fight!" Kate called through the crack in your door. You sighed, tugging your shirt up over your head and moving to undo the button of your tactical gear bottoms.
"I know how to fight! I just prefer to do it with a weapon!"
Kate was silent for a moment while you slipped into more casual jeans and a cotton T-shirt. When you returned to the living area, she was standing in the middle of the room staring at you with an amused smirk.
"Honestly - for a seasoned vigilante, you sure rely on your weapons pretty heavily."
"Says you, miss mini Hawkeye," you quipped, motioning toward the bow lying across the kitchen table.
"Pshh, yeah, so... I use my bow and arrow... a lot," she admitted reluctantly, "but at least I know how to fight in hand-to-hand combat if I'm caught without a weapon!"
"I would be just fine if I got in a fight with no weapon!" you scoffed.
"Would not! I would totally smoke you in a fight."
You snickered. "I seriously doubt that."
Kate followed behind you as you strode into the kitchen and tugged the refrigerator door open. "You don’t think that my literal years of martial arts training would give me an advantage?"
"Nope. I've been doing this a lot longer than you have." You gazed blankly into the open refrigerator, trying to decide what you even wanted.
"I don't buy that." Kate's voice faded slightly as she began pacing across the kitchen floor behind you. "Seriously - you should let me train you! I bet you'd be so much better at fighting if I trained you."
"Train me?" The door to the refrigerator slammed shut as you released it, spinning around to face Kate with a bewildered expression. "You think you could train me?"
"Well... yeah, obviously," she asserted, planting her hands on her hips. "You might be a weapons master, but you've got nothing on my combat skills."
"I have been doing undercover field work for over a decade - and you dare to suggest you could train me?" You fought to contain the amused, teasing grin as you slowly advanced on her, trying to maintain the intimidating façade. Kate squared her shoulders, planting her feet firmly in place to stand her ground.
"Yeah. Yeah, I do!" she declared, jutting her chin up with an air of confidence. You let a slow smirk overtake your features.
"I'll show you who's the master of combat, here," you growled. Without further warning, you lunged forward and tackled Kate to the ground.
She clearly wasn't expecting the sudden physical attack, based on the shriek of surprise that burst from her throat as the pair of you barreled to the floor. You took advantage of her astonishment, swiftly pinning her wrists to her back and digging your fingers into her side.
"Ack- HEHEY! Cuhut that out!" Kate demanded. You could hear her feet digging into the floor behind you in effort to gain traction.
"What's the matter? Weren't expecting to be taken down by the master?" you taunted, pinching your way up her ribcage. She snorted suddenly in response, rolling hard. To your surprise, she successfully threw you off of her. You toppled sideways, barely striking the floor before Kate was on top of you. She swiftly snatched your wrists and pinned them beneath her knees at your sides, her hand darting up to wrap loosely around your throat.
"You... you were saying?" she panted, eyes flashing victoriously.
“Please. This proves nothing, other than the fact that you get ridiculously violent when someone tickles you.”
“Uh, yeah. It’s called instinct. You’d have it, too, if you were ticklish.” She punctuated her statement with a sudden squeeze at your exposed side with her free hand. Unable to contain your reaction, you spluttered and jerked away from her fingers. Her eyes lit up, and your stomach sank. “No. Way.”
“Kate, I swear, you’d better get off m-eep!” You let out a squeak as her fingers contracted into your side once again.
“All this time, and I just assumed someone like you couldn’t possibly be ticklish!” she marveled.
“Yeah… well… you thought wrong, obviously. Now get off.”
“I thought you were the better fighter?” An impish smirk spread across her face. “You should have no problem throwing me off you.”
You let out a frustrated growl, tugging at your wrists to try to free them. Kate dug both hands into your ribcage viciously the moment you started struggling. A loud burst of laughter exploded from your chest at the suddenness of it, only serving to egg her on as she scratched rapidly at the spaces between your ribs.
“This is actual gold!” she exclaimed, her grin only widening at your extreme reaction. “How are those weapons working for you now, huh? Wish you knew how to fight, don’t you?”
You managed to yank your wrists free, immediately sitting up and shoving Kate off so you could roll and spring to your feet. Before you’d even turned around to face her, Kate swept your feet out from underneath you with a well-placed kick to the ankles, knocking you face-first to the ground. She dove on top of you, snatching your wrists and slamming them to your back to pin them in place the way you’d done to her. Tickling fingers found their way up under your arm before you could spit out the empty threats on the tip of your tongue.
“Not so tough now, are you, super spy?” Kate goaded, pressing harder against your wrists as you began to struggle violently under her weight. “Still think you’re a better fighter than me?”
“GEHET OFF, DAHAMNIT!” You dug your toes into the floor and bucked your hips in effort to knock her off. This only served to be your downfall. Taking advantage of the increased space, Kate wriggled her fingers into the softer skin on the side of your belly just below your ribs. With a screech, you dropped your weight back down to the floor, dissolving into hysterics. "WAIT-WAIT-WAIT... OHOKAY! OKAY I-HI GIHIHIVE! PLEHEASE!"
"Wow! This might be your ultimate weakness!" she exclaimed in amusement. Thankfully, she heeded your surrender, relenting in her brutal attack and shifting her weight off your legs. Exhausted, you gradually rolled onto your back, coughing as you greedily sucked in oxygen. "So... remind me... what was that about not needing my training?"
"Oh, shut it," you groaned, pushing your upper body up on the palms of your hands to sit up. Kate stood, offering you a hand, which you accepted reluctantly.
"Seriously, though - I would love to teach you some combat moves. And..." Kate pondered for a moment, a genuine grin crossing her face. "... maybe... you could teach me my way around a dagger. You know, to pay me back?"
You sighed, shaking your head but grinning all the same. As much as you hated to admit it, she was right. There was a lot you could learn from your friend. And, of course, there was much she could learn from you, too. If you could both set aside your pride, of course.
"Alright, Bishop." You held your hand out, offering her a handshake. Her grin broadened as she grasped your hand, shaking it firmly just twice. "You've got yourself a deal."

Headcanons:
a/n: i can never spell that right (also i only did general + platonic headcanons for this one, romantic headcanons i felt like could be their own post)
Tumblr media
General:
we already know this but: golden retriever in a human body
she eats the crust of the pizza first, then folds the rest like a sandwich
Considers plastic ware to be cutlery
she doesn’t use bed sheets, just a bunch of different blankets
owns 1000 million pillows
she sometimes forgets to sleep
caffeine addiction
amazing kitchen, terrible cook
One time Yelena almost had a heart attack when she dropped by Kate’s apartment and saw her scooping flour with a drinking glass.
“Kate Bishop, what are you doing?” “The recipe calls for a cup of floor!”
If she is really into something, she won’t stop till she’s mastered it (have you seen all of her trophies?)
She seems like she listens to voicemails
purple lover: will buy anything and everything that is purple
Clint: “Kate, you don’t need a baby cradle!” Kate: “but the lavender, the shades of violet, it’s calling to me” *proceeds to buy 12*
She can and will get distracted while firing her bow, causing many of her instructors (plus Clint) heart attacks while she shoots an arrow while trying to pet a puppy
Platonic:
Don’t tell Yelena I said this but Kate is peak bestie material
She will show up at your door with bags of your favorite foods at 3am if you had a bad day
She seems like the kind of person to have several life long friends but only a few very close friends she’s only known for a short while
prepare yourself for sleepovers
lots of sleepovers
who cares if you’re in your 20s, if Kate wants to put on My Little Pony pajamas and then give you a 45 minute slideshow presentation about why Matt Donovan should’ve been killed off in season two of TVD, that’s what you’re doing
She actually listens
If your friend group is hanging out and you’re really into a topic and are going on a tangent about it but you start to trail off because no one is paying attention to you, she’ll ask you questions about your rant and encourage you to finish
she remembers the small things, like if you mentioned you were allergic to a certain brand of mascara or if you don’t like melted cheese
Y/N: “god my eyes keep watering again” Kate: “Oh shit did you buy [brand]? You’re allergic remember?” Y/N: “…i told you that 3 years ago.” Kate: “your point?”
Or
Yelena: *making mac n’ cheese* Y/N: *uncomfortable as the smell makes you nauseous* Kate: *noticing* “oh hey, Y/N, you can’t eat melted cheese right? I’ll see if I have any frozen pizza pockets left” Yelena: “oh good, i thought they looked disgusted because of the hot sauce”
If you get into a fight, and she’s the first one to apologize, then expect her to show up at your house while your out and set up a movie night with your comfort movies and favorite snacks
if you’re the first one to apologize, all you have to do is call her or show up at her door and she’ll immediately forgive you
Y/N: “damn it Kate, I had a whole speech planned. I was going to tell you all the ways I was wrong and you were right, it was very humble!” Kate: *squeezing the life out of you in a hug* “mmhm i bet it was. Now lets never fight again and go watch Brave”
If she ever breaks something of yours, or borrows clothes then rips it, she will buy you at least ten of the items
She is rich, let’s not forget, and will sometimes tip people $200 dollars when you’re out for coffee
you’ve seen her awkwardly comfort crying waitresses as they thank her profusely
Since her family business is a security company, you never get hacked. Ever. (Unless you’re late to a planned meet up and Kate wants to know where you are)
The first time you went out for boba together, Kate didn’t know about the tapioca pearls. Her first drink and immediately they were coming out of her nose by how surprised she was
yes of course you videoed it and sent it to Clint and Yelena
a/n: well that’s all i got for now! If you would like more, either with Kate or another character, feel free to send them in! (I have a Tony Stark list soon -maybe tonight even idk lets see how much homework i can procrastinate-) also, that melted cheese headcanon? That’s actually a problem i have

midnight visitor ; kate bishop
warnings: none really
"hi."
you don't respond, only staring at the black haired girl half-stuck in your window.
kate smiles sheepishly and gives her leg another tug, to no avail. "um, surprise?"
you sigh and drag her into your apartment. she lands on the floor with a thud, no doubt annoying the tenant downstairs.
you plant your hands on your hips. "you will explain to me why you're breaking into my house at 4 in the morning."
it's not a question - it's a command. kate rubs her nape and reveals what she's been hiding behind her back - awkwardly, what with her quiver also strapped across her back.
it's a cat plushie.
in a shark onesie.
"i just... got this," she says nervously, avoiding your eyes.
that is her reason for basically breaking and entering your apartment?
"you're unbelievable." you hold in the urge to snicker. how very kate of her. "you can't use the door like a normal person?"
"wanted to surprise you," she mumbles.
"you did. i was very surprised to see a katherine bishop halfway through my window in her full hero uniform."
"let's not talk about that."
"we are so talking about that."
with a final grin (kate evidently relaxes), you push her down on the couch and bring out the first-aid kit. "how do you manage to get hurt every time you go on a mission?"
"it's just a little scratch!"
"mhm, you'd probably call a bullet wound 'just a little hole'." you press her cut a little firmer with your cotton swab and she winces. "also, just because other people break into your house with ease doesn't mean you could do it too."
she grumbles. "i know."
"lastly," you glance at the cat plushie still in her hands and fight back a smile, "where'd you get your little friend?"
she visibly brightens. "cute, right? i was sort of running away from these guys and saw it in a store window and i had to stop running to get it because it reminded me of you."
"that's stupid." you roll your eyes as you return the first-aid kit. "what if they caught you?"
"can't be that stupid if it's got you smiling," she retorts. you scoff playfully.
"i was thinking of naming it tuna," kate continues, thinking out loud. "you know, because cats like tuna. and it's in a shark onesie and sharks eat tuna. wait, do sharks eat tuna?"
"kate, it's 4:30," you scold. "aren't you going home?"
she stands up and approaches you. "i was thinking maybe i could stay the night."
you raise and eyebrow. "what makes you think i'll let you?"
"maybe because you can't resist me?" she jokes, cornering you against the wall.
"hmm..." her head descends, lips about to land on your skin when you push her away and throw clothes at her face. "take a shower, stinky. and then we'll see."
a/n: js kate getting distracted by a plushie while running away <3

Don't get her wrong, Kate usually idolised Clint even after being his ''partner'' for over a year, but today she could have killed him. He willingly paired you two up for a mission... alone. The previous times she met you she could barely talk and hurried out of the room. She had know idea how she would survive an entire night especially when you had to seduce some rich asshole right infront of her.
And then she saw you come out of the bathroom dressed like that (making her hold in "marry me".) "You ready?" You asked her running your hand down your outfit to remove the wrinkles. "Only if you are!' She said making finger guns. She face palmed as you left the room. This was going to be a long night.

🍂 Fictober 2022 🍂 Taglist 🍂 Kate Bishop Masterlist 🍂
Tumblr media
It was some sort of fucked up routine, but you already accepted that it was just part of dating a superhero. And a very good one.
You’d be lying on the couch during movie night, cooking together during some new culinaire adventure, taking a walk in the park with Lucky or doing simply anything normal couples did. Until another villain would decide to show up, no worries about your personal life.
Kate would turn to you, an apologetic smile — the one that made you hold your complaints about how you never were able to do anything together those days — on her face as she handed you whatever she was holding and ran away to suit up and do her job protecting New York.
“If you die I’ll kill you, got it?” You shouted in the middle of the sidewalk with such seriousness it made goosebumps rise through Kate’s arms as she walked away from you.
“How would that even work?” She raised her brow, trying to lighten up the mood, but she knew you were still going to patch her up later with a scowl on your face.
“Don’t test me, Bishop. You wont like it.”
“Take Lucky back home, okay? I’ll meet you guys soon.” You both knew that was probably a lie and she would come back hours later.
“I’ll be counting the minutes.” You let her go with a small encouraging smile, conflicted between pride and fear.
Kate Bishop was one amazing person, both on the hero and human side, but lately a lot of amazing people were dying, heroes that you never thought about their human side. You just didn’t want her to be one of them.
“Let’s go home, Lucky.” You announced to the dog that was still facing the way Kate ran. “She’ll be home soon.” You told him, like you really meant to comfort him. It was clear that saying those words was more of a way to make yourself believe in them too. “She always comes back.”
He barked in agreement, or that’s what you thought he wanted to say. At least you still had company to talk on the way back to the safety of your apartment.

Despite midnight ticking closer, the city below remained bustling with life. Honking cars driving down the road, groups of people shuffling down the sidewalk, customers heading in and out of different shops as if it were a casual afternoon. You watched everyone head up and down the sidewalks from your spot on the ledge, the people below so far and small they almost appeared like ants bustling around. You enjoyed the view, and especially enjoyed having a little spot where nobody could distur-
"(Y/N)? Oh, wow, hey!"
Great.
You turned and peered over your shoulder as Kate Bishop of all people emerged from the darkness. She smiled widely, albeit nervously, before raising her hand to do a small, awkward wave. She quickly dropped her hand back to her side and muttered under her breath, a light pink dusting falling over her cheeks. You rolled your lips into your mouth and inhaled deeply through your nose, scratching your temple and giving her a forced polite smile.
"Hey, Kate." You greeted, swinging your legs over the stone railing and hopping down from the ledge.
"I didn't think you came to this place anymore! I thought that... after you, uh... dumped me you'd stop coming by." Kate winced, slipping her fists into the pockets of her coat and dropping her eyes down onto the dust-covered floor. "It's... It's been a while, huh? You look good."
"I come by sometimes... mainly when you have classes."
"You remember my schedule?" Kate's head snapped up, her brows lifting in surprise. "I don't even think my mom knows it."
"Yeah, well... I memorized it back when we were still dating." You murmured, hearing your phone ding in your pocket and fishing it out. Tapping on the screen twice, it lit up and revealed a message from a friend asking about your whereabouts. You answered them quickly and stuffed the phone back in your pocket.
"Is that your new girlfriend?" Kate abruptly asked, her ears turning a deeper shade of red. "I- It's- It's none of my business. Forget I even asked. I don't know why I asked. I'm- Well- I do know but-"
"I'm not dating anyone, Kate." You interrupted her before she could go into one of her long rambles. She blinked, her mouth clamping shut and ponytail swishing around when she nodded. You glanced toward the staircase leading down to the lower levels and began taking slow steps toward it.
"Uhm-" Kate lifted her arm, hand outstretched to stop you. She cleared her throat, another nervous smile appearing on her face. She brought her hands together and began fiddling with her fingers, lips moving as she tried finding the right words to say before she simply blurted it out. "I know you said that we should go our separate ways and that it'd be better like this but I-I don't want that. I... I still really like you and I know you've never gotten along with my mom but I still think we can make it work. So, will you give me another chance?"
