a shoujo manga theory
「riddle rosehearts x gn!reader」 ↳ gift for @faera-archive !! happy birthday! a small little drabble for you on this day♪
Tumblr media
“Riddle-san, look at what Cater-senpai lent me! Want to read it together?”
Bringing his attentiveness upwards, Riddle discerned you animatedly holding up a book with a prepossessing girl drawn on the cover. Roses and sparkles adorned the space around her, an orthodox and cliché picture. “What is it? A manga?” he inquired, already shutting the magical treatises splayed on the table before watching as you affixed yourself right beside him on the couch.
“Yeah, Cater-senpai said it was really good!” you chirped as you flipped the manga open to reveal the contents. Shifting a bit closer to Riddle, you began reading the heroine’s monologue—about her struggles of being in love. "I want to get closer to him, I want to kiss him—those sort of thoughts are with me all the time."
While you were patently exhilarated, Riddle could feel his body going rigid while wavelets of heat suffused through the fissures of his body; and it made him subconsciously writhe in his seat. Incapable of focusing while you enunciated romantically whimsical things, Riddle only allowed his head to spin.
It wasn’t until you shrilled that his stupor was ruptured. “Look, look! The male lead kissed her!”
As the manga was shoved into his face, Riddle was forced into descrying the scene unfolding on the pages—the male lead had the heroine pinned against the wall, his lips sealing hers. A white-hot sensation of embarrassment twined around Riddle’s nerves as a myriad of thoughts gyrated in his mind, and he only stammered out, “Isn’t it too soon for that?!”
“Riddle-san, you’re blushing,” you mentioned in a hushed voice, finding your own cheeks pooling with warmth at the adorable sight.
Turning his head away from yours slightly, Riddle breathed out with diminutive hues of indignation tinging his voice, “We’re not—I mean, they aren’t even dating yet!”
“I think kisses are a wonderful way to get your feelings across,” you whispered softly, your eyes beginning to shimmer with stars as your pulse quickened. “Ahh, I hope my first kiss is lovely!”
Espying that gentleness in your voice, Riddle felt himself being gradually placated. “Well, if it’s with the right person, of course it would be,” Riddle told you staidly, any tincture of his previous bashfulness eradicated as he folded his arms across his chest.
Nodding your head, you closed the book whilst saying, “That’s true. I wonder how my first kiss will be like~” Yet after you vocalized that thought, you stood from your seat. “I’m going to give Cater-senpai his book back. I’ll see you later, Riddle-san!”
Once Riddle confirmed you had sprinted from the room with no intentions on coming back, he relinquished a deep breath. “Haah, do they even realize what they’re saying?”

Mizutori’s bakudeku fanfiction master list [complete works]
Really really good writing by these incredible authors. In no particular order! These are all Top!Bakugou and Bottom!Deku. If A/B/O dynamics then it’s Alpha!Bakugou and Omega!Deku. Yes, I have preferences.
Canon World – until 15k
What The Fuck Did You Just Call Me? by reading_raindrop | 8,303 | Izuku starts calling him Bakugou and it pisses the explosive teen off a lot more than he thought it would.
Oh right, you were a little sh*t by SaysiWrites | 5,653 | When Midoriya Izuku gets hit by an age-reversion Quirk, the last thing anyone expected to find out is that Toddler-Izuku is a little shit. Except for one Bakugou Katsuki, who has seen this phase one too many times already. (Bonus+ the entire Little Sh*t (Kidfic) series)
Do Not Disturb by surveycorpsjean | 10,010 | Apply enough force, and something is bound to break.
And Atlas fell by supercrunch | 15,185 | They move in together, after a while. Katsuki joins Best Jeanist and Izuku trains under Gran Torino. They still take comfort in each other every day, curl up in bed and kiss and talk about how life is going. Their live are tumultuous, after all, what with villains and training and rescuing people every week. It’s nice to have something certain. At the end of a day filled with violence and adrenaline, Izuku knows he can come home to someone concrete. It’s perfect. Being a hero is scary and grueling and uncertain, but this part is just right. And then, one day, a child dies in Izuku’s arms.
be loved by bonnia | 5,403 | The kidnapping incident leaves bakugou traumatised about being touched on the back of his neck, and midoriya decides to take matters into his own hands.
Big Protein by Mysecretfanmoments | 13,683 | Bakugou Katsuki has a thriving hero career, an agent to manage his famous attitude, and absolutely zero romantic interest in anyone. With the exception of his favourite health food joint refusing to expand to his city, his life is pretty damn perfect—so why does a viral video revealing Deku's stash of dirty mags involving him and Deku together turn everything upside-down?
Chocolate cake and resin preserved flowers by Anoksun | 11,396 | Izuku loses his memories. Katsuki struggles not to lose Izuku too.
Twin Stars by theperksofbeinglarissa | 8,435 | When Deku saves a woman's life, her quirk is accidentally activated. Her quirk? She reveals a person's soulmate. A star-shaped mark appears on Midoriya's left arm... and on Bakugou's as well. Kirishima is the only one who knows that Bakugou is Midoriya's soulmate, and Bakugou isn't taking the news very well. Can the twin stars of class 1-A work out their differences and find their happy ending?
Unhealthy Fixations by Thesis | 12,522 | Izuku is an adult who knows better than to crush on his childhood bully. AND YET.
Like the Moon by osakakitty | 14,781 | Katsuki Bakugo is having constant, erotic dreams about Izuku Midoriya. He isn’t sure why, but they won’t go away. In order to make them stop, he needs to figure out what Izuku Midoriya means to him.
Worth a Second Shot by cinnabee | 13,080 | Katsuki and Izuku celebrate registering as a Hero Duo together with a big party. What could go wrong?
Like Something Out of A Shoujo Manga by Merrywetherweather | 2,971 | Deku ends up in a rather interesting quirk accident, one that triggers flag events as if he were the protagonist of an otome game.
Canon World – 15k++
Blood Moon by lalazee | 94,860 | The Thank-Fuck-We-Aren’t-Dead Sex had started then, and had never really stopped. Then came the feelings and the fights. The ego, the pride, the jealousy. And then there was Us.
The Way You Used To Do by edema_ruh | 669,463 | During a battle, Midoriya gets hit by a villain whose quirk detaches his soul from his body. Stuck in a ghost-like state, the boy enters a race against time in order to save himself from permanently dying. Much to his luck - or lack of it -, the only person who can see and talk to him in this state is no one other than Kacchan.
Just Like Breathing by MD_Daydreamer | 35,423 | Izuku got engaged. He didn't mind. If that made Uraraka happy, he could do it. He thought his life wouldn't change much. But then, Kacchan went to live in the USA.
briar roses (and hundred years of sleep) by vannral | 15,951 | In which Izuku is hit by a ‘Sleeping Beauty’ Quirk, Class 3-A tries to find his True Love and get them to kiss him, and Katsuki’s very angry about it all.
"what's your type?" by sapphicflower | 20,192 | In order to increase their popularity rankings as up and coming pro heroes, Izuku and Katsuki participate in the most popular late night talk show for hero duos - ‘Heroes Rising!’. They’re killing it, obviously, because they know each other from inside and out. Until one question stumps the two of them: “What is your hero partner’s type?”
and it was Just Right by cinnabee | 23,759 | Katsuki spends two years post-graduation in a furious one-sided competition with his childhood friend and rival's promotional photos - until they finally run into each other, and, well. You shouldn't believe everything you see in magazines. A love story about size differences.
Notice Me, Nerd by useless_donut | 40,000 | Bakugou is in love with Midoriya. He doesn’t hide it, in fact it’s so painfully obvious that the entire class of 3-A has him figured out in a matter of months (days, in some cases). Too bad Midoriya is the most oblivious motherfucker out there, and Bakugou is too damn stubborn to actually ask him out. A love story as witnessed by the class of 3-A.
in your dreams, nerd! by sapphicflower | 37,639 | In a strange and unexpected set of circumstances, Izuku and Katsuki find themselves sharing their dreams together whenever they happen to fall asleep at the same time. Being hopelessly in love with each other, they don’t mind it all that much. What better way to spend time with your crush than in a stupidly vivid dream?
Hear Me by my_name_is_Levi | 22,419 | It wasn’t as if nightmares were uncommon for the freshman class of Yuuei. They’d seen plenty of things, heard and felt and witnessed enough travesty in their lives to last them a lifetime. But Midoriya Izuku was screaming, and no one, not even Bakugo Katsuki could ignore it.
Bridges by supercrunch | 18,018 | Bakugou is signed up for a Calvin Klein modeling gig. The thing is, they really do need the money. And Katsuki's technically the leader of this bunch of morons, so he finds himself taking the job even though his pride will never recover. And even though nobody thought to tell him that he'd be working with his ex-boyfriend. You know, the cute freckled guy from high school who went and broke his heart. So, yeah. This whole situation kind of sucks.
objective truth by mamalade | 15,390 | Izuku gets hit with a truth quirk, as one does. He seems to be handling it well—until Katsuki shows up.
catharsis by dollcewrites | 15,071 | It's been six years since Izuku graduated. It's been six years since he confessed to his childhood friend; his classmate and his inspiration. It's been six years since he deleted Bakugou's number, asked his friends not to mention the name, spent every last effort of his heart turning off the TV and averting his eyes from the newspapers. It's been six, long, long years since he gave up on Katsuki Bakugou ever loving him back.
Here here, my friends and me (You are my familia) by Jeka | 128,832 | Bakugou Katsuki has made a great job of ignoring the fact that he is tragically in love with Deku, someone who could never love him like that and let's face it, he doesn't deserve. Now that he can't ignore it anymore, he has to find a way to keep his childhood friend and move on for his own sake. Or so he had thought, maybe he can have Deku, after all. Izuku has everything he always wanted in life. But suddenly he has to navigate the most important relationship in his life through different eyes.
Canon World – Jealous!
Hands Off by SaysiWrites | 7,140 | When a new girl at school starts flirting with Bakugou, his friends quickly become invested in the idea of their friend experiencing love - even if he doesn't seem at all interested in her. What they don't see is Midoriya fuming in the background. But how can he get rid of her when they've spent so long keeping their relationship a secret?
Surfaces by surveycorpsjean | 25,225 | Katsuki has a new girlfriend, but something isn't right. As impossible as it is, Izuku can't help but wonder what it'd be like to be called Katsuki's girl.
Green-Eyed Beast by SecretKiwi | 4,721 | Everyone wants a piece of Katsuki Bakugou, but they should beware of the Green-eyed beast always lurking close behind him.
Green with Envy by Sol_Morales707 | 2,611 | Izuku Midoriya is not as innocent and pure as everyone thinks he is. The truth was he was very jealous and willing to do anything for a certain blonde.
Happy Camper by Arysa | 7,074 | Wanting a break from the stress of dealing with the rookie Pro Hero grind, a handful of students from Class A decide to go on a camping trip. Deku's Already Fucking Taken by asdfjkl129 | 20,704 | 5 times people don't realize that Deku is already in a very happy relationship and try their hand at asking him out, and then in Bakugou's unique and special style, get very firmly corrected, +1 time where no correction is needed.
His by sister_elric | 6,206 | Izuku would like to consider himself a pretty level headed individual. Sure, he had the occasional tunnel vision, especially when it came to training. And hero work. And Kacchan. But, overall, Midoriya felt as though he typically kept his cool. Well, maybe that was a stretch. But, at the very least he could understand his own emotions. So, it surprised even him when an unfamiliar emotion coursed through him as a first year approached his boyfriend, Katsuki.
Down the Red Line by MinervaHope | 7,804 | Izuku has been able to see the red strings of fate since birth. It's no surprise that his is connected to Katsuki.
Canon World – Fake Relationship Goes Wrong
how he should’ve known (and how it turned out) by vannral | 43,918 | In which Katsuki and Izuku pretend to be a couple to avoid journalists, the plan backfires magnificently because of course it does, and the act goes on. Includes feelings, pining, domestic fluff and jealousy.

we'll do the things that lovers do by ethereals | 29,544 | Izuku gets an invitation to Shouto's wedding and Katsuki is PISSED that he asks Kirishima to be his date (also he wasn't even fucking invited
Canon World – Friends With Benefits (?)
Four Times Bakugou Katsuki Doesn't Intend to Sleep With Midoriya Izuku (And the One Time that He Does) by fallingraine85 | 17,601 | He hadn’t planned for any of this. He isn’t about to go delving into the ball of yarn that is Midoriya Izuku’s heart; he isn’t equipped to try and untangle and make sense of it all. He isn’t about to try to analyze how he’s feeling about all of this, either.... How many times can you repeat the same mistake?
We Wear Chains on the Weekend by surveycorpsjean | 35,086 | Well, in a day of revelations, it turns out that Izuku isn't as vanilla as Katsuki previously thought. Unfortunately, that fascinating discovery is overshadowed by Izuku's dumbassery, because he has zero concept of aftercare."Don't go to anyone else," Katsuki says, because screw it. He can do a better job anyways. Or; Katsuki finds Izuku on a bad drop.
Just for Now by Shiro_Kabocha | 48,135 | Katsuki's parents are out of town over a school break and to keep him from getting up to any shenanigans, they ask Izuku to house sit with him. What are two teenaged boys to do when left alone to their own devices? (Bonus+ the entire Just for Love series)

Bluebird by EtherealBeing | 53,108 | Dialing a wrong number was no unusual occurrence. Everyone did it once in a while, and Katsuki was well aware of that fact. However, possessing this knowledge made it no less aggravating for him to discover — a full two minutes into his rant about his day — that he’d been venting his frustrations to a complete stranger. As if that wasn't enough, said stranger was also inexplicably determined to hear his story to its end.
Someone Borrowed by mynameis152 | 138,996 | It felt like hours that he stared at Izuku, coming to terms with the fact that a man, his childhood best friend, whom he hadn’t seen since their senior year of high school, was there in front of his very eyes. Then his brows furrowed and his jaw clenched before he uttered through gritted teeth the very name Izuku had longed to hear for years. “Deku.”
Dark Side of the Sun by Synnie | 51,598 | Staying up too late playing video games, Kirishima wasn't expecting to get an urgent call begging for help. Next thing he knew, he was letting his classmate Izuku Midoriya take refuge in his apartment - without consulting his always angry roommate.

But he called anyway. Turns out all he has to do is to be the spoiled little puppy of a rich businessman.
Our Eleven Summers by Dark_Mage_Ayumu | 34,472 | The first time Katsuki met Izuku was when he was eight. For the next eleven years, Izuku changed his life, and no one even knew. Their relationship was something they shared in secret.
sticky note crushes by ladyofsnails | 3,239 | Katsuki hates his roommate. The green-haired, freckled, artsy son of a bitch with his dumb pun t-shirts and paint-stained hands he can’t fucking keep to himself. Katsuki can’t leave a single assignment or paper out in his room because that idiot will just grab anything to draw on it. He’s like a shark that can’t stop swimming else it’ll die – he can’t stop drawing. Ever.
Don't Play Pretend by SweetSide | 10,103 | Actor AU: Deku and Bakugou get the leading roles for an upcoming TV Drama. They weren’t aware that they would be working with each other for who knows how long. It would’ve been completely fine if they weren’t exes.

Call Me a Safe Bet (I'm Betting I'm Not) by WTTTD | 10,803 | He wished he had some sort of heads up before seeing Deku again for the first time after nearly two years, looking like the essence of a lazy Sunday, smiling and surrounded with brand new, adoring friends. Just Like The Comics by brichibi | 24,935 | Where Izuku works at a comic book shop because that’s as close to a hero as he’s gonna get, and Katsuki plays the part of heroic ex-boyfriend who is good at everything except winning Izuku back... maybe

So when he's stopped on the streets one day by a pup begging for help for his mom, he isn't prepared to face what he gave up, and what the consequences of his actions were. (Quirkless Deku)
A/B/O – Quirks
Mark Me. Make Me Yours. by decadentbynature | 10,062 | Midoriya is the only Omega at UA and he's been hiding it well but there's one issue that threatens to expose him: his attraction to an Alpha, Bakugo. After being told to give some paperwork to Bakugo, Midoriya lets him into his dorm room and is immediately overwhelmed by his scent. Unable to help himself, he gives in to his urges, only to be discovered by Bakugo but instead of becoming enraged, Bakugo decides to give Midoriya exactly what he wants
Claim Me by ScientificallySinful (VampireGaaraCheesepuffs) | 114,449 | Being an Alpha has nothing to do with Katsuki's success as a Pro-Hero, the same way Deku's Omega status hasn't kept him from becoming Number Two. Secondary gender doesn't mean anything nowadays and “mating” is an antiquated practice. So when Izuku, his rival, asks Katsuki to Claim him in the middle of the night, there is only one logical thing to say. “What the fuck?”
Change of Plans by Mikacrispy | 185,965 | Alpha Pro Hero Bakugou Katsuki never planned to get married to some random omega but what he wants isn't an option anymore. One for All wielder Midoriya Izuku has suffered injustice too many times and doesn't plan in allowing his secondary gender to dictate how he must live his life. Falling in love was never in the plans.
Going Feral For You by ANGIE_fic | 17,977 | Bakugou has an aggression problem that might have to do with his Alpha. His job is on the line because of it. So what do you do with a pent up Alpha? Yes.Rut. (Quirkless Izuku)

Baby's First Bloom by ContraryBee | 44,945 | Izuku blooms for Katsuki one warm day in their third year of middle school. What follows is both boys learning about themselves, their bond, and the society they live in.
As Fate Would Have It by ScientificallySinful (VampireGaaraCheesepuffs) | 88,737 | Katsuki Bakugo had plenty of reasons why he wasn't mated yet, not that he was going to explain why to just anyone. But now, Ground Zero was running out of time. If he didn't find someone soon, he'd lose his position as a Pro-Hero and he'd never get to be #1. So, when he finds out there's a male Omega recently arrested for prostitution that's headed to prison if he too doesn't get a mate…well it must be fate. (Quirkless Izuku)
A/B/O – No Quirks
Gravity by warschach | 71,477 | Izuku is back in his hometown and plenty hasn't changed much from the 8 years he was gone. Except, Katsuki Bakugou, the alpha king of their small town. He's hotter- because that's fair, right, God? -, stronger, a now-famous pro fighter, and noticeably nicer this round. Not that he cares, pfft. (Fine, he cares.)
Nine Months by greatcloudninja | 23,303 | Omega Midoriya Izuku connects with Alpha Bakugou Katsuki through an online singles ad. Izuku pays Katsuki to help him with his heat, ending up pregnant in the process. What follows is a pregnancy filled with ups and downs, but whatever hurdles come their way, they can make it through together.
The long dark by Ominous-Anonymous (Ominonymous) | 13,289 | He could have been really dangerous. He could be a fucking murderer for all he knew. But Izuku Midoriya, ever the reckless daredevil, was not thinking of that when he got into a car with a complete stranger. Completely ignoring the part where his mother always taught him to never gets into cars with alphas he didn't know...

Do you want all the boys in toman cause let give you!!! Plus you're hot you deserve head❤️
Mikey - baby in my opinion he just- he's overprotective and lowkey amazed with how you kinda act oblivious (lol🤪). He really enjoys spending time with you but hey hey sometimes he needs space too and it's a lil hard running awhole gang and you complaining about which juicy couture looks better. Dates around the street food venues are a must, naps at parks but baby your gonna smell like grass so you sit on his lap. Speaking of lap, the meetings. You just love grinding on it don't you little slut? He's suprisingly clingy and sometimes wrinkles your top but he swear he doesn't mean it (maybe cause your nipples were kinda perking out) He wants you to get nipple piercings? And he LOVES it when you wear the colours sapphire blue, ruby red, princess pink or gold you look so out of his league. He gives out wholesome compliments but with roasts at the end lol. Typical. But he makes it up with a kiss to your collarbone. Regardless he'll always be there for you, sneak into your room to cuddle you and your suffocating breeable cunt<3 p.s he keeps your hair ties underneath his pillow as an omen for sweet wet dreams😙
Mitsuya - Oh love he's such a closeted perv. Literally y'all just finished fucking and he wants you to pull his hair and moan in his ear?? Coffee dates and amusement parks. Y'all have so many polaraids/fuji of each other it's insane (him mostly). Not to mention sexy polaroids for his experimental designs lmao perv. He's just so- perfect. Literally cooks for you even if you offer to do it yourself, he hates it. Loves leaving you to babysit his sisters, they already call you their second mom? AWN MY HEART PLEASE. This man is so pussy whipped he'll hear you complain about your Shoujo manga collection not being colour corresponding. Until he's fed up himself and fucks you shut. <3
Draken. This long dick mature motherfucker. He's one to keep. A 4lifer. I dare you to make him jealous I'll beat you myself. But, it's hot though. Look this man will die for you and literally carry you for blocks with a wounded injury okay?! He can handle your cries on perfume scent mismatching your cream scent but jeez it's just PERFUME. He finds so cute though. His sarcasm and sometimes seriousness makes you cackle so hard you gotta hold in yoir breaths. He doesn't get why you have tiktok, just to shake ass and watch memes? Bitch give him an ass show, he'll make you forget about that app. You love hanging with the girls at the brothel tbh they your sisters. Literally nothing to them is taboo, even your sex life with him they give out tips and oh baby do they work. The type to randomly blurt out "you smell fuckable" infront of the gang?&#4) overall a 4lifer. He's a dream I need a daddy like him.

Okay so I go throughout my everyday listening to music. I have playlists for EVERYTHING! And it got me wondering how would the boys react to an MC who constantly listens to music?
Lucifer
- I imagine Lucifer generally listens to classical music but I love the idea of him listening to jazz.
- Like big band/swing music
- Okay so for this scenario I imagine MC and Lucifer working on paperwork/school work together
- MC is loosing their mind cuz it’s so quiet and they put on a jazz playlist.
- Lucifer is shocked at first because he’s like what does this human know about jazz?! (✨yk just old people tings✨)
- But he starts to softly hum and tap his foot
- MC notices and queues up a few of their favorite songs and eventually starts to sing
- Lucifer loves the way MC sings along to their favorite songs but doesn’t wanna bring attention to it because he doesn’t want them to stop.
- As MC and him get closer he starts looking forward to their work/music sessions together.
- If MC catches him on a good day that doesn’t have a lot of work sometimes he’ll ask MC to dance 🥺❤️
Mammon
- Okay so I imagine Mammon really likes going on drives. The guy has a whole car in his room...you’re gonna tell me I’m wrong?
- ANYWAYS
- On these drives he likes to bring MC any chance he gets because it’s time with just them and no brothers to ruin it.
- MC really does enjoy these car rides because it reminds them of times in the human world when they would drive around with friends or family and just vibe.
- You best believe that because of this MC has a few car playlist full of vibey songs for any occasion.
- MC is the CEO of “can I have the AUX?”
- Mammon and MC feel like being in their feels? MC’s gotta playlist.
- Need a playlist to listen to while speeding down the highway pretending to be in Fast & Furious?
- You know that one song from Tokyo Drift is on that playlist 😌
- Mammon ADORES MC and their car playlists. Theres never a dull moment, even when they’re in their feels haha
- God(or Diavolo rather??) help you both if Lucifer finds out the amount of times you two have out run the police to Fuck Tha Police by N.W.A (listen i don’t know if there’s police in devildom but imagine it for the scenario 😤)
Leviathan
- Okay so if MC knew anything about tiktok they would have a playlist full of tiktok audios
- Especially the ones on anime TikTok - those are really *chef kiss*
- I imagine that Levi wants to ask MC if he can have a manga or CD back and he over hears her jamming to one of his favorite anime openings
- But the song ends before he gets to MC’s room and THE TikTok song comes on and MC starts singing.
- Is that Touch You from Yarichin Bitch Club?! No it couldn’t be...
- MC let’s out THE MOST PASSIONATE 🎤sawarasenai🥰kimi😸wa⛓shoujo👻na💅no?✨böKù🌸Wâ🧚ÿARiçHiñ🤴BįCChī😾ńO😩oSû🚣Dà🎉YO💦
- Levi gets SO red he feels like he’s gonna get a nosebleed or faint or some cliche anime reaction.
- He can’t bring himself to confront MC after hearing them sing. But he would be lying if he said he didn’t wanna join them lolol
- After that Levi will most definitely invite MC to his room for weekly karaoke or to karaoke bars in town
- Bonus points if MC knows the lyrics to his favorite anime openings/closings
Satan
- You can’t tell me that Satan isn’t punk rock as hell
- HAVE YOU HEARD THE MUSIC TRACK THE DEVS PLAY WHEN THE STAGE IS WRATH?!
- I feel like this is where Lucifer and Satan differ, because Satan was most definitely an angsty, rebellious “teen”
- While his attitude isn’t as bad as it used to be his music taste hasn’t left
- MC has the most PERFECT 90s/2000s emo playlist haha
- But if Satan wanted some of the old stuff rest assured they have some classic rock on there too
- I think Satan would invite MC to his room whenever he felt like pissing Lucifer off to blast rock music thats on MC’s playlist
- This honestly sounds SO OOC but I like to imagine when Satan is with MC he would let loose a little and start singing/dancing along
- And the feeling MC would get when they see Satan singing along to one of their favorite bands?!
- HUBBA HUBBA 🥵
- Satan knows this and lives for their flustered reaction
Asmodeus
- Okay I don’t know if y’all know who Spencer is on tiktok, but he does this thing where he will put on music to make him feel sexy and get all dressed up and just walk towards the camera in slo-mo.
- And do I think Asmo would do that??
- Yes absolutely 😂
- I think Asmo would have a shared playlist with MC called “brb doin hot girl shit”
- Ashnikko is DEFINITELY on this playlist
- But it is just songs that MC and him play when the two wanna feel confident, when you’re both getting ready to go clubbing/partying, or whatever hot people do that they might need music for
- But also I think MC would have a winding down playlist
- This one is played when you’re both doing skin care, or getting ready to take a bath, or just general self care
- This maybe a little OOC but I like to think Asmo would love to hear MC sing the calmer playlist because of how peaceful it makes him feel
- Imagine that after a night of partying and you’re both getting your makeup/party clothes off and putting on face masks and just winding down
- And MC is in the bathroom just gracefully signing while doing whatever self care task they’re doing
- Asmo overhears and just loving/longingly stares at MC from his vanity or wherever he is
- I just think Asmo would appreciate the gentle moments MC and him share along with the rowdy ones 🥺
Beelzebub
- Would LOVE IT that MC listens to so much music
- He’s always at the gym or practice and would love to listen to MC’s playlist when he’s apart from them
- I do think that if MC went to the gym with Beel you two would have a shared playlist called “Gainz😩💪😤” or something goofy like that
- It’s full of high energy songs, that match how hard you two go at the gym(at least how hard Beel goes lol)
- Image that he asked MC to make him a special playlist so that he can listen to it right before his games/matches to motivate him 🥺
- It would remind him to do well for not only for himself, his team, or his brothers, but his lovely MC who he doesn’t ever wanna disappoint
- On the other hand when the two of you cook/bake together and there is music playing I think it would be cute if Beel danced with MC in the kitchen
- MC is the only thing that helps with his hunger, right?
- So image you two are cooking dinner listening to la festin from ratatouille or something similar
- And outta no where he grabs MC from behind, spins them and starts dancing with them
- I’m not saying it’s any good, but he’s trying because he knows how much MC enjoys listening to music and wants to show his appreciation
Belphegor
- Last but not least! Sleepy boi 🥺
- MC has lullabies for daysss
- Or those white noise/rain/ambience sounds
- It’s just a playlist that helps the two of you sleep
- Not that belphie would have issue with that
- At first Belphie kinda shrugged it off and was like “whatever thanks I guess..”
- But on the inside was so soft because omg MC thought to do this for me?!🥺
- Like I said he doesn’t really need it but loves that MC thought these sounds or soft tunes will help him sleep better
- After a while I think he grows to actually need it though so MC has to send him the playlist when they aren’t together
- The playlist not only helps Belphie sleep but I think sometimes Beel would ask for it too as he’s so used to hearing it
- I think the twins favorite thing on the playlist is the rain noises and the random soft instrumental tracks of modern songs

Forelsket | 8 - Not a Dream
Tsukishima Kei  x f!Reader

Perhaps you never quite forgot about the pretty boy, who had quite literally swept you off your feet and stole a kiss from you. Soft-looking blonde hair and a warm shade of honey brown eyes. Tall and stoic, a mysterious kind of guy maybe.
Yet, all of that was ruined when he decided to open his mouth. A very soft... or harsh... reminder that boys were just not it for you right now. Gosh, if only. You really might have taken Kuroo’s advice to move on by finding a new beau. Was the world just against you, that it decided the men in your life were all shit. Besides Kenma of course.
Kuroo was debatable.
So when you wake up the day after you return to Tokyo, world pitch black from the eye mask you didn’t know you had, you weren’t expecting the foreign contents of what was supposed to be your room.
“Tetsu?” You yawn, confused why your bed felt emptier. The middle blocker had been sleeping over, and you really hope he’s not destroying your kitchen in attempt to cheer you up from yet another barrage of calls from your ex.
You froze. Was that your voice? Were you sick? Slipping off the eye mask, you set it down on the bed. Ignoring your abnormally larger hard, you brush your palm over the mattress. Were these your bed sheets? You don’t quite remember having this color. Glancing around, you don’t even remember ever having such bad eyesight.
Through the blurry blobs, you spot glasses on the nightstand and don them as you examine your surroundings. You notice the shelves lined with figures of dinosaurs and the school uniform and volleyball jersey that hangs on hooks on the door to your room... at least whoever’s room you were in.
You were either kidnapped by a prehistorical nerd, or your childhood friend had somehow changed the whole layout of your room within hours. The latter didn’t seem to convincing, but knowing Kuroo, it was still possible.
Scratching your head, you squeeze your eyes shut at your lack of longer hair. Soft and short strands met your fingertips as you swear to any god out there, if Kuroo Tetsurou cut your hair in your sleep as some sort of prank - he was going to meet his death.
Slipping out of bed, you glance down at your abnormally longer legs. You’re equally as weirded out as you stand and find that you reach the height of the doorway when you leave the confines of the room and into an unfamiliar hallway. Through trial and error, you find the bathroom, switching on the lights as you glance at the mirror.
Your heart stops.
Was... was that you?
“Hah?!” You exclaim in shock, gripping the edges of the counter to stare at your reflection. Familiar honey eyes stare back in mirrored shock, wide in disbelief, as you recognize the face of the pretty boy from just the day before.
Slowly raising your hands to your face, you watch as the reflection mimics the way you brush your digits over your cheeks.
Was this real? Were you hallucinating? A dream?
You pinch yourself with a wince at the sharp pain.
Not a dream apparently.
“Hey— you’re unusually loud this morning, you okay?”
You flinch, glancing over at the male standing at the doorway. He’s slightly shorter than your current body, sporting the same blonde hair color and honey colored eyes. His expression is notably more softer than the stern frown you had seen on the boy in the mirror.
Currently, you were still finding it hard to believe that you were in that boy’s body right now. You didn’t even sleep that late last night. So how was any of this even possible?
Were you reading too many shoujo books? Body swaps couldn’t possibly be real... right?
“I’m fine,” You answer finally when you realize he’s still waiting for a response.
Was this his brother perhaps? The similarities in appearances were striking. He was too young-looking to be his father.
He doesn’t seem too convinced by the answer, but he shakes his head and shrugs, “Alright, if you need anything let me know, you look a little pale.”
He was right. When he finally left you alone, you shut the door with a click of the lock and turned to once again appraise yourself in the mirror. The color from your cheeks were draining and you looked as though you’ve seen a ghost. Although, honestly the expression seemed so out of character and weird on the middle blocker’s face.
You were starting to panic, chest tightening as you gradually grew dizzier. Taking a seat on the toilet seat cover, you placed your head in your hands.
Deep breaths. In. Out. In. Out.
You stayed like this until you felt the world come to a stand still and you could breathe normally again.
How did this happen in the first place? Your brows scrunched together in hard concentration, thinking back to your only interaction with the boy. The pads of your fingers brush over your, well... his bottom lip, remembering the static of electricity that had shocked you when you’d both kissed that night. Could it have been...? Was that even possible outside of anime and manga?
Then you felt it. Horror struck across your expression as you glanced down at your crotch.
You really had to pee right now.
.
Tsukishima opened his eyes to the bright shine of the sun slicing through the blades of the blinds. Irritated, he wondered where his eye mask had gone in the middle of the night. He shifted to sit up when he realized he was being held captive by a tight hold around his middle.
Finally growing aware of the warmth surrounding him, he raised his chin to glare up at the sleeping face of Kuroo Tetsurou.
Wait. What.
He looked up and down multiple times, squeezing his eyes shut and reopening them, in case he was hallucinating. Each time, he grew even more uncomfortable with how close his mentor was, and even more disturbed by his sudden appearance.
“What the fuck are you doing in my house Kuroo-san?” He spat harshly, before his mind went blank at the pitch of his voice.
Seriously what the fuck?
“Mm, Kuroo-san? I don’t remember pulling a prank on you just yet (F/n),” The raven-haired middle blocker hums, stirring from his sleep at the sound of his name.
Tsukishima didn’t remember seeing Kuroo last night, nor did he remember getting in bed with him. The disgust at the thought and the experience right now, was making shivers run down his spine. He needed to get out of this weird cuddle position they were in, and fast.
“Let go of me you pervert, I’m not into that,” He hisses, ripping himself from the other middle blocker’s arms. The sound of his voice continued to throw him off as he sat up and glanced around the room.
What was going on? His eyesight had significantly improved. Moreover, this was definitely not his room.
“(F/n), are you okay? You literally asked for cuddles last night?” The other male says, more confused now as he sits up with a drawn out yawn.
“(F/n)? Are you blind now? I’m Tsukishima?” He snaps in annoyance.
Who the hell is (F/n)?
Kuroo’s eyes open wide now, more awake and even more confused by his answer.
“I’m serious, are you okay? Did kissing Glasses-kun mess you up that bad?” he asks teasingly, ruffling the shorter’s hair.
That’s when Tsukishima notices his longer hairstyle. He’s also suddenly aware of how much bigger his mentor appears in comparison to himself. Had he always been that much larger than him? They were supposedly about near each other’s heights.
Wait. Kiss?
Tsukishima turns to him with squinted eyes, frowning up at the elder.
“How do you know about the kiss?”
The older blinks down at him. Really what was going on with his childhood friend? Were you having a random case of amnesia? So suddenly, was that even plausible?
“You told me? Are you sure you’re okay? Did you fall down again before I came over?”
His brows furrowed, he didn’t tell anyone, not even Yamaguchi told the two idiots plus Yachi. His friend didn’t even talk to the opposing captain either, so how?
“No what the fuck, besides that, where are we? This isn’t my house.”
Kuroo makes a face at that.
“We are at your house (F/n).”
“No, and I’m Tsukishima.”
Hazel eyes squint down at him. Kuroo opens his mouth to say something when his phone vibrates incessantly on the nightstand. With his back turned to reach for the device, Tsukishima glances at the table to find a picture frame of the Nekoma captain, his pudding-haired setter, and you  — the girl he’d knocked over on his descent down the stairs and kissed just the other night.
Picking up the phone, Kuroo is momentarily surprised to be receiving a call from the caller ID titled as “Tsukki”. Once accepting the call, he’s about to express his surprise about receiving a call from the aloof blonde, when his eyes widen at the frantic voice on the other line.
“What do you mean you’re (F/n)?”

FIVE TIMES AROUND YOUR ORBIT  pairing: oikuroo  genre: g  summary: they be kissing  can also be read on ao3
ONE. KUROO’S AN INSTIGATOR.
It’s in his blood. It’s the only way he knows how to operate. He sees something to poke and he pokes and pokes and prods and prods. Sometimes to see if it’ll break. But mostly to see how much it’ll endure. It, in question, is Tooru’s sanity. And as their lips are mere centimeters Kuroo lights the match to the flame, “Make me shut up.” That’s all it takes really for Tooru’s mouth to close the maddeningly short distance between them.
TWO. KUROO HAS KISSED BEFORE.
Little pecks here and there. Sometimes deeper kisses where his partner’s arms are wound around his neck. His hands on their hips. Their mouths opened just enough he could swallow the hitches in their breath and the gasps they elicit. He’s normally been taller than the people he’s kissed. Oikawa is no different. Though he’s just a mere inch taller, and he lets Oikawa know as he slightly dips his head and says:
“Here, I’ll meet you halfway. So you don’t hurt yourself trying to reach me.”
And Oikawa barks a laugh, curling his fingers into Kuroo’s suit as he pulls him into the doorway, “Childish to harp over an inch. Are you perhaps compensating for where you lack elsewhere?”
Which makes Kuroo laugh into the kiss as he works himself out of his jacket, “We’ll find out soon, won’t we?” It’s fun, this little height difference between them as Oikawa’s kisses go from his mouth, to his jaw, to his neck.
THREE. OIKAWA LIKES ALIENS.
Kuroo finds this hilariously endearing-stupidly cute. As they watch one of Oikawa’s favorites, he goes on and on about the physiology of aliens and all the recent scientific discoveries that lean towards the existence of their reality. Kuroo rests his chin in the palm of his hands, watches Oikawa go on and on. Flailing his hands. Pulling at Kuroo when something out of this world happens on screen. And it’s in this moment where he can’t help but wonder how they got here. How life is so funny and strange because if you ever told him in high school he’d be sitting on the couch, dating Oikawa Tooru, watching alien films with him… he’d laugh. Obnoxiously. He smiles into the palm of his hand as he watches the universe bloom in Oikawa’s eyes. On impulse, he leans over to kiss Oikawa on the cheek.
“I’m going to refill our drinks.”
“Okay but hurry up this is the BEST part!” Kuroo snickers as he gets up. Walking to refill their drinks, he thinks how even though he never expected this turn of events-he doesn’t mind the course they’ve taken.
FOUR. HE’S ALWAYS WATCHING PEOPLE.
He’s a quick study. He’s always been. He learns how people are, best, through observation. Oikawa is an interesting individual. He’s equal parts confidence and insecurity. Equal parts menace but the way he operates around those he’s truly comfortable being around is another shape of kindness he was surprised to see. But he loves it, nevertheless.
And it’s in this moment when he watches as Oikawa struggles to sew something for his mother that Kuroo decides to say, “I love you.”
And Oikawa mid pull, but without looking, goes “Don’t try to throw off my concentration with your jokes!”
And Kuroo can’t help but wonder if Oikawa doesn’t believe him because Kuroo’s always joking or because he doesn’t think the possibility of falling in love with him existed. So Kuroo goes again. He steps in front of Oikawa, crouches down, and steals a kiss. Oikawa’s face is one of shock. He drops the needle.
“You weren’t joking.”
“No.”
“You love me.” It’s not a question.
Kuroo grins, “Every bit of you.”
Oikawa pauses for another few moments before he puts his mother’s work away and drags Kuroo forward, “Thank fuck you said it first,” he whispers as he kisses him senseless. And then, in a quieter voice as he buries his face into Kuroo’s neck he says, “I love you too.”
FIVE. WHEN KUROO KISSES OIKAWA IN FRONT OF THEIR FRIENDS, JUST CAUSE.
It’s mostly to see everyone’s reaction. And it’s also because Oikawa said something hilarious that made Kuroo bust an entire gut. So he had to kiss him for that.
Oikawa fixes him with a look, “Hello? I was speaking.”
“You’re welcome.”
“WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?”
“Oh you two finally did it,” Kenma doesn’t look surprised. Which Kuroo has to roll his eyes at because of course he’s not. “Congrats on leveling up, Tetsu.”
“Did Oikawa pay you to date him?” Hanamaki asked. “Because if so you can tell us. This is a safe space.”
“Do you know that he would read shoujo manga and recite the lines in the locker room mirror so he could repeat them back to girls?” Matsukawa adds, bringing the straw of his drink to his lips. “He never wanted to be unprepared for a potential shoujo moment.”
“Has he done his signature move yet?” Iwaizumi asked. “The one where he-”
“ENOUGH! ENOUGH OUT OF ALL OF YOU!” Oikawa hollers and Kuroo is absolutely losing it again. His head falls on Oikawa’s shoulder, shaking with laughter, while Oikawa chews out his friends and Kenma plays his video game.
Yeah. Yeah kissing him was so worth it.

im not super into webtoons but this is my friend @istanfrancisabernathy’s section of our google doc, copied near verbatim (only edits made are formatting stuff) bc i trust her god-tier taste
19 Days
This is a very popular webtoon Rn and it is SO FREAKIN GOOD. It’s really funny and it’s about these 4 friends and their high school ,,, adventures ig with a touch of ~mafia mystery~ as the desc says. This is also an ongoing webtoon so chapters are still being released ! Overall I’m in LOVE w this webtoon it’s so funny and sweet one of my personal faves.
Tamen de Gushi (Their Story)
THIS!!! This is similar to 19 days. It is a rlly romantic comedy type thing w,, sweet gfs and a really funny side friendship. Overall rlly enjoyed this one
Nan Hao and Shang Feng
Another comedy, sorry not sorry. Again, if you like 19 days and tamen de gushi, this is in the same vein, it’s about two best friends and one of the besties has a crush on this girl in his class. But little does he know that girl ships him with his best friend and it’s really funny and yeah 😀
Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! (Go for it, Nakamura-kun!!)
THIS. THIS. THIS IS THE CUTEST THING I HAVE EVER READ. it’s about a boy who has a crush on another guy in his class and it’s really simple and sweet and short but the art style is so CUTE and just everything about this manga is,,, chef’s kiss.
Shimanami Tasogare (Our Dreams at Dusk)
This is one of the first mangas that I read. This manga is genuinely one of the most beautiful manga’s I have ever read. Compared to my last couple suggestions this is a more serious manga. The main character is a boy who wants to kill himself after his classmates start to figure out that he is gay, but a mysterious woman saves him and takes him to this lounge-esque place where he meets a group of other LGBT people and basically it’s about the different struggles that these people deal with for being LGBT, and how the main character grows and learns to accept himself. It’s just so beautiful and melancholy and has really great representation and discussions so yes. I know this description is really fucking long but yeah I have a lot of feelings for this manga and could talk about it forever tbh
Ao no Flag (Blue Flag)
Lord forgive me I added a shounen manga to this list. But this is NOT your typical shounen manga. (Honestly, thinking about it, idk why this is considered shounen. More shoujo than shounen.) This is a romance/school/slice of life manga as well, but it truly has so much depth. It’s basically about a boy and his relationships with friends, girlfriend, trying to figure high school and life out. There is a love triangle type thing too, but manages to not be as cliche as I thought? Also, the dialogue in this manga is GREAT. Like, I was shocked at some of the discussions they had. And the ending is just…. *screams* this manga is another that I could talk about for fucking ever I really loved it.
Doukyuusei (Classmates)
This is it. This is what true love looks like. This is a really cute manga about a typical high school romance. Not much to say here but I really loved it. There is a fucking movie adaptation of this manga that is SO GOOD. The full movie is on YouTube so if you’re ever so inclined to watch it’s here
Suicide Boy
Okay lemme just say, with this webtoon: major suicide TW (obviously). It’s mostly humorous though.
It’s about a boy who basically keeps trying to commit suicide and failing and his adventures with friends and shit along the way. This IS a comedy but the theme is obviously dark and there are some somber moments so keep that in mind!!! But I really like this, the art style and the characters and uhhhh yeah
Umibe no Etranger - Stranger by the Sea
You thought it was over… you thought wrong 😈
This is a really cute manga as well I’m fully in love with the art style. There is some spicy content in this manga (only a little bit tho) but just uhhh yeah beware of that. The anime adaptation came out in Japan this year!! I have no idea when we will get it but I can’t wait. There is also a sequel that’s like way longer
Sasaki to Miyano
Currently reading this and I’m in love it’s so mf cute. It’s about a boy who reads BL manga,,, There is also an anime adaptation coming out for this too so um yes very much hyped as fuck
An Uncomfortable Truth
Genres: psychological/tragedy/drama (idk if you’re into those kinds of genres but yeah!!) also gore warning for this webtoon
This is a very disturbing and sad webtoon so warning asf but it was rlly good :(( about a yandere BOY with a very disturbing past and his brother
Given
music kageyama and hinata basically sad v sad but so very good
There’s an anime adaptation of this that’s really good too it’s just called Given
Tokyo Revengers (this is my fav manga atm)
Omg wait I’m adding to this after so long,,, I forgot to add this, it’s literally amazing bye
It’s about a 26 year old guy who’s pretty lame and basically has done jack shit with his life. He sees on TV that his girlfriend from middle school died and then he discovers that he can travel back in time when he gets in an accident and he decides that he’s going to try and go back in time to save her life/stop her from dying. It’s an action manga and is mainly about gangs so yeah 👍 but pls it’s literally so fuckijg good and it’s one of those stories that I got hooked on from the very beginning and yea and the art is wonderful

MY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS ABOUT OUTTAKES 16-18.5 BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY
We have been blessed with 3.5 glorious new parts to the wonderful Losty Aone/ Mountain Man Series by the wonderful, amazing, awe-inspiring @shhhlikeme and i am emotional and have many many feelings about it all.
Outtake 16
I love that we got to see this from the reeader’s point of view, it was nice to see our losty y/n and see how their feeling. It was a nice break from feeling sad about Aone’s broken heart.
This part made me laugh ahaha
After dating and breaking up with him, Aone had females constantly approaching him. A/N: Not constantly but it felt that way for you ofc lol
the jealously😂, the Author’s note too like “it wasnt like that at all” 😂 this emotional person (y/n) is just  blowing up the situation.
and then this:
In other words: They want what you had.
i mean of course they would, Aone is the sweetest boy but only to someone he loves. Aone’s heart is too strong to let waver to someone knew so quick
This whole outtake all i could think about was that Y/n really needs to get back with her mountain man, first they want to break up so Aone finds someone new but then doesnt want him to find someone new. Like cleary y/n is not being honest with herself or Aone.
When they went to the library, ahhh y/n really just imagining the worst scnenarios in their head😂
“Oh,” your stomach flipped. “He looks so cute.” You put on a 🥺 face when you noticed how utterly adorable a standing Takanobu looked
🥺🥺🥺 Aone is always such a cutie, and y/n really broke this man’s heart😭 I know it was insecurites but still. These two are so in love but just wont get back together.
The outfit y/n is wearing😍 you always pick these really cute and sexy outfits and I appreciate y/ns confidence and style but it is not me 😂😂 but Aone thirsting over his girl tho, i would dress up like that if it meant getting looked by Aone like that 😂
I love Aone’s plan, like he is such a sweetheart and he’s making me all soft at all his effort to win his girl back🥺🥺
This outtake really gave up all the feels y/n is feeling with breaking up with Aone and I am enjoing it 😂. At the same time though I just want these to love birds to get back together ahhhhh.
One of the things I really love about this story is how strong the friendship is and how we see the outside characters really show how much they care. A lot of stories (like shojou, oh man you dont know how much shoujo manga ive read haha) just sideline their friends after the start talking to their love interest or they dont even have friends at all in the whole story. I really enjoyed seeing Katana be a voice of reason in our losty’s life. And of course the K_nji’s being our boy Aone’s best friends.
Outtake 17
okay we starting with the real friends the K_nji’s warning our boy Aone about the situation. I love them and how much they care 😂. They can be dumbasses but still, I appreciate their effort.
The University—our University— sent her a uniform that’s a size or two too small.
Does this mean they’re going to the same university? or am I reading too much into it? It might have been mentioned before but I cant remember off the top of my head. Also Aone really living his best life and his worst life rn 😂😂  like he gets to see his girl in a super tight cheer leading uniform and spend one on one time with her but he cant do anything about his desires. His confidence tho haha  “I’ve seen Y/N in a cheerleading uniform before” not like this you havent😏
Aone Takanobu can truly say—if he could speak—that he will never even question Futakuchi again.
Again I just really love their friendship, parts like this really get me 😂😂😂
When y/n took out Aone’s jacket automatically🥺🥺 my hearttttt, and how long Aone’s jacket is on them🥺🥺 this whole part made me so softtt. Like imagine wearing his jacket🥺🥺 it would be so comfy and warm.
There are so many golden lines I loved from this part, but Aone’s spank bank is just a phrase I wasnt expectng to read but it is gold. Im sure his bank is full and loaded😂
Then some random gross guy comes up to y/n, like the audacity of this guy.
He had such a disgusting grin on his face
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 this guy can back offfff.
I really love when Aone comes in to protect the reader🥺🥺 he’s not the iron wall for nothing too.
Your knight has arrived. Your ex-knight. ☹️
and then you go and hurt me again😭😭
I really wanted Aone to just kick a dude in the chest, like step the fuck off 😂😂.
Tumblr media
“Take one more step toward her.” Aone growled in the smoothest voice.
“I dare you.” Aone added, for good measure.
Im absolutely swooning, Aoneeeeee🥺🥺🥺. And the fact that he wanted the reader to come with him so she wouldnt get anyone bothering her😭😭 he’s such a gentlemen. No one bothers Aone’s girl whose not his girl at the moment, especially guys who arent wanted
now onto the fun part of this outtake😏 I wasn’t expecting to see texts but it was definitely a nice addtion!! Our poor Aone soo horny and sweet, I dont know if the dead squirrels worked hahaha.
but he couldn’t help but wonder how he was going to edit all of this together in the time frame he promised he would with only one hand.
this went over my head when i read it the first time omg😂😂😂 Im sure Aone can do it, he’s a very capable man. This whole section had me laughing but also feeling slightly bad for Aone, again his poor horny heart right now is conflicted but very much fed. Im glad he was able to get a break, I dont think his length could wait (im not used to using subtle language hahaha) anyway this whole part was fun to read.
Aone bit his juicy bottom lip,
I legit bit my lip just before reading this part😂
Outtake 18 & 18.5
Now we’re hitting the climax!! (after Aone just hit his climax and is about to hit again😗)
—who imo really should return to their own homes now but would rather not—
I mean do these two even have their own homes anymore😂, theyre basically apart of the Aone family now. Family who also understand when to leave their horny pal alone for time being.
OKAY ONTO THE IMPORTANT PART!!! AHHHHHHHH.
“Aone-senpai, do you even have snapchat?!”
“Obviously not.” Kenji answered for his friend, being snappy.
“WELL HE SHOULD GET IT BECAUSE I SAW—“
Did Kanji see Y/N and Takeru?????? I also cant believe I learnt Takeru was a third year from this series, I always thought he was a second year for some reason. I think cos he was ennoshita’s rival. not important rn lmao
“—because Aone-senpai is jacking off again. It makes you feel lighter, and happier—so that’s why,”
this boy, there are some things you just shouldnt say out loud. Some things can be left unsaid (not like im blunt with my friends sometimes haha but still)
When Kenji had found out about why y/n dumped Aone😭😭😭😭 I’m glad he found out earlier then Aone, I wouldnt have wanted him to yell at the reader again.
Anyone that can do that, be so selfless—is good enough for his best friend.
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
“I can tell its her because that’s your sweater she’s wearing. Right? It says Takanobu on the back, and I remember seeing Y/N steal it out of your bag after practice once.”
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺these parts really just made me soft. like the fact that y/n still had the jacket and wanted to wear it out. and the absolute coincedence that they were in the same cinema as Aone.
“Y/N.—Sh-She-She is wearing my attire. What does that mean?”
Yeah, big guy.
Yeah, you have a chance.
Y/N still has a little….tiny bit of feelings for you
YES YES YES FINALLY , I wanted to cry here😭😭 AND THEN KENJI CONFIRMED IT ALL AND AONE THE MAN WENT AND TRIED TO GET HIS GIRL. THIS REALLY IS THE DRAMATIC PART IN THE MOVIE. AND THEN THIS [redacted] TAKERU CAME AND AHHHHH
(Aone would know that face, he only saw it everyday he’s looked in the mirror for the past 3 years)
Absolutely dead. All hope—gone.
You make me happy and then just rip out my heart like 2 minutes later. I was going from crying happy tears to sad tears in like a heartbeat.
ALSO YOU DONT KNOW HOW UPSET I WAS WHEN I GOT TO THE END OF PART 18 I DIDNT REALISE THERE WAS 18.5 AND WAS AFRAID THAT THIS WAS IT AHHHHHH. I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO PLAY WITH MY FEELINGS THEN JUST LEAVE.
“I’m worried about you.” She finished, looking more serious than you’ve ever seen her.
y/n really has some good friends with her🥺
uhhh then Takeru comes in, I dont really hate him but no one stands in between our losties love, they deserve each other and no one can stand between them.
“But, tonight, if you need a shoulder to cry on, I’m just one theatre over… Okay? I have a pretty comfortable shoulder, so just text me.”
Okay this was pretty nice of Takeru, like cheesy but at least he cares and isnt staring at y/n like a peace of meat he wants to devour...
You sent it. Received a response within seconds saying he was on his way.
This boy, hes got a good heart but this isn’t your story bud, im sorry.
There! Kenji-san and Koganagewa-san, two males who were looking at you and Takeru as if you two were the villains in the movie that just popped out of the screen.
if this doesnt go well these two seem like they’re going to fight y/n outside the cinema😭😂 I couldnt imagine getting death stares from the K_njis especially after hurting Aone basically twice now.
Finding HIM was all that mattered.
OKAY THIS WHOLE PART, LIKE YES GO GET YOUR MAN PLEASE. LIKE Y/N CANT JUST LEAVE THIS RIGHT HERE LIKE THIS.
white hair visible only because his head was down, forehead kissing the steering wheel, his shoulders vibrating slightly because he is crying. It’s him.
I cant take anymore sad Aone😭😭 He needs the biggest hug and his girl to be his girl again. He has gone through so much.
“Kenji-san, please leave me—““Not Justin Bieber look-alike!”
I cant with the Justin Bieber look-alike. 😂😂
Im just going to talk about my feelings for this part, but the whole confesson. I felt like crying, i feel like crying now reading it😭 it was just so beautiful. Like y/n explaing everything and saying Aone is the only man she’ll ever love. Throughout the series we really go to understand Aone’s feelings so deeply and how passionate he is but we didnt really get to see how y/n felt as much so reading this made me happy for Aone for the fact that his girl loves him as much as he loves her. They really were lost for each other, lost with out each other, but together they were
Found.
okay maybe im tearing up now😭😭
One more marathon to go and our happy couple can live happily. The fact that this story is nearly over is a little sad but I’m happy our losties found each other. Im thinking since the next parts will be the last I’ll talk about overall themes I liked and my favourite moments as well.

on the way home. (Azami X Kumon oneshot)
Summer is almost over and autumn will come soon. There goes the school bell, ringing that it's time to go home. I stood up and picked up my bag and head over to Azami's room to pick him up.
It's been a year since he entered my school, Tsukushi High, and we always head home together. To be honest I was happy that Azami came to my school so I can have a new friend to hang out after school. Sometimes we hang out at my favorite batting place, to the mall to check out new makeup for him and I ending up as his model to test the products. But I don't mind at all, as long he's enjoying himself.
There are times we come home late from spending too much time on our hangouts haha. I smiled as I approach Azami's room and happily greet him,
"AZAMIIII, school's out c'mon let's hang out!" I cheerfully called out as he turned to me frowning as he pick up his things.
"Alright alright no need to shout," he said and head out and I tag along.
"Azami, is there any particular place you wanna hang out today? It's gettin pretty chilly since autumn is comin' up."
"Nah I wanna head home early today, how 'bout you?" he shrugged and yawns.
"Me? Well I wanna go for a little detour but since you said you're going straight home, guess I'll go home as well."
"Well we have time thou, where is that detour you're sayin'?"
"Hehe wanna find out? Follow me." I said teasingly and dash ahead.
"Hey no fair! Get back here!" Azami yelled and dash off as well chasin' me. I laughed and ran like a mad man as I head to the place where I found a new spot for hangin' out.
It's only a few blocks away from school and no one has ever set foot on it so I wanted to show Azami this new spot to hang out. It's an empty field with a perfect spot to watch the sunset.
Finally we arrived at the empty field and I lay down on the ground, catching my breath and I saw Azami's face starin at me from above.
"You're such a dumbass, dashing off like that what if you suddenly faint from exhaustion? You know your health is not that well. You're gonna be heavy as I carry you home." He sighed and lay down as well beside me.
"Well when that happens you're still gonna carry me home right?"
"How about no?"
"EH. You're so mean Azami!" I sat up and glared at him.
"I'm kidding, you're so easy to tease haha." He laughed and sat as well. There it is again, that throbbing feeling in my chest whenever Azami smile or laughs. I wonder if I'm getting sick or something. I just laughed it off and stare at the setting sunset.
"This is a pretty cool spot to relax. When did you find this?"
"Oh. When I was runnin' late last time I passed by here and it was close to the station and no one really comes here so yeah another free space to relax and practice swings! Hehe." I laughed and Azami just looked at me, smiling.
"Well thanks for the new hang out place, maybe if we're gonna skip school let's go here since it's not that far."
"Ah! Skipping school is a no no Azami!"
"Heh, but you go along with me whenever you feel like skipping your class."
"W-Well that's only a one time event! Besides I promised Mom that I'll do well at school so I can stay at the dorms with niichan."
"Haha you really love your family Kumon, I kinda envy you." he said and stares at the sunset.
"Why though? You have Sakyo-san, the Ginsekai and Mankai as your family, also me! You're like a brother to me too, Azami." I said but I know my feelings are not merely a brotherly love. It's something else.
"Well I know that, it's just I don't know how to react back," he muttered.
"But yeah even I can't tell it in words, I can just simply show it with my actions."
"Yeah exactly! You're a good guy Azami that's why I like you so much hehe."
"Huh like?"
"Uh I mean I like you as friend! Ha ha ha..."
"You're such a weirdo sometimes Kumon, but I like that part of you. It's like your charm that people come to like you."
"Really? I'm kinda shy to hear that." I laughed and scratch my head that Azami is complimenting me.
"I'm serious, you're approachable, kind and full of energy. And I think that's really cool."
"Well you're more cooler Azami! Even though you're young, you're dependent, can fight and manly!"
"Pfft. Stop the flattering,"
"Eh~ but I'm serious, I really like those characteristics of yours Azami."
"Well it's look like we admire each other's good sides," We laughed it off and stare again at the setting sunset. Then he turns to me and chuckles,
"What's so funny?" I asked confused that he's suddenly laughing.
"Can I say something weird?"
"Yeah?"
"Well in most situations, normal couples mostly hang out here in an empty field like this to make out, but here we are, two guys chillin as we watch the sunset."
"There's nothing wrong with that though, it's just we're chillin. Couples are not the only ones can hang out in places like these haha."
"Yeah right." He said and lay down again on the grass closing his eyes.
"Hey Azami, I gotta say you're pretty good looking, and I bet you're popular with the girls at school. Is there a type you like?"
"Nah. Girls at school are annoying and noisy. But Kantoku is an exception."
"Do you like Kantoku then?"
"Yeah I like her, but not in an romantic way. I respect her as our Director and nothing else."
"Hmm I see,"
"Looks like you have more something to say, you can ask me anything if you want,"
"Anything?"
"Yeah yeah, since we're chillin' out here and all."
"Then," I paused and took a deep breath and turned to him, completely serious about what to ask.
"Hey Azami, what would you do if a guy confesses to you?" I said and he looked at me shocked and I turned away at him scratching my head. Great, you're the best Kumon, why in the world did you ask that thing? Especially to Azami. As I roast myself when Azami muttered,
"Well, I would feel weird but yeah I'll respect the guy's gut for confessing. And I-I don't know if I would like a guy..." he muttered and started to blush. I don't know if he's blushing or it's just the sunset. But I pressed my thoughts and ask him again,
"Then what would you do if I confessed to you?"
"You confessing to me?"
"Yeah." I said firmly starin into his eyes. I don't know what got into me and why am I sayin' these things.
"Well I'm flattered, that you like me. Ah I mean, why would you confess to me anyway? Are you teasing me again Kumon?"
"Why would I joke at a time like this, I'm serious, I Iike you Azami."
"Huh, what does that mean." he muttered and starts to cover his face. I chuckled and stop him from covering his face as I lean in to him. We're so close that I can feel his breath and can hear his heart beating.
"Well if you don't like it, let's just forget this happened and stay as friends. I don't want our friendship to get awkward and all haha." I smiled bitterly and starts to stand up when Azami stopped me and clutches my sleeve.
"Wait. You didn't heard my answer yet dumbass," he said and I sat down, focused about what he's going to say.
"I, I like you too Kumon. I know it's weird that we're both guys but I really admire the things you have which I don't. And yeah, ugh. You know what I mean," he said and blushes looking down at the ground.
"Haha you're so cute Azami blushing like that, oh then that means we're going out now?"
"Whatever you call it," he muttered and I hugged him so tight, I'm so happy right now coz we feel the same way. I feel I hit a homerun right now.
I smiled and stare into Azami's eyes and about to lean in for a kiss when he stop me.
"Hey just because we're going out doesn't mean we can do those things,"
"Those things?"
"Aw c'mon you know what I mean Kumon,"
"And what is that?" I asked teasingly as I lean in so close that I can just peck his lips.
"Like kissing and stuff... Wait how do guys kiss?"
"Pfft hahaha, you really gonna ask that? I'll show you," I chuckled, leaning in and pecked his lips.
"How do you know these stuffs? You don't look like the type to do these things like kissing, dumbass."
"Well I learn a one or two from Muku's shoujo mangas and there's nothing different except we're both guys haha."
"Whatever let's go home, Shitty Sakyo might yell at me again if we come home late again," he said standing up and starts to walk.
"Ahh Azami! Wait for me! You're so cruel." I pout and followed him.
I held his hand and he held back. We head home with smiles as we gaze into the starry sky as we head home.

Thanks for reading! It's been quite a long time since I wrote a fanfic again and it's my first time writing shounen ai genre and fluff. Apologies if there are errors, typos, wrong grammars coz I wrote this in one sitting and just focused to finish it. Hope you liked it! Until then ^^

Rock Versus Needle
Request: Basically Kirishima already got a few piercings, but he’s worried his quirk will break the tattoo gun at the shop he’s at so he enlists Shinsou to brainwash him… Also Kiri looking really blissed out and dazed? ( By @ride-the-bifrost )
Prompt: (Requested) Kirishima was fine with getting piercings, but after one disaster at a tattoo parlor, he realizes he won’t be able to ink his skin unless he enlisted some help… And Shinso just happened to be in the neighborhood.
Pairing: Shinsou x Kirishima
Rating: Fluff! (Beginning of a romance?... ;3), some dirty thoughts
Words: 4,464 (DID I GO OVERBOARD?! IM SO SORRY)
-----------------------------------------------------------
“I’m sorry, you want me to do what?”
Shinsou stared at his red-haired friend, one brow propped up in slight surprise. The pair sat in a quiet cafe, with a cup of steaming coffee in front of each of them. However, both mugs sat untouched. Shinsou leaned forward, trapping his beverage between his elbows as he clasped his hands above it, resting his lips against his thumbs thoughtfully. Across from the table was Kirishima, who was currently fiddling with the stud in his earlobe. He was nervous, that much was easy to see, but Shinsou wasn’t exactly sure why. He leaned back in his chair, violet eyes scanning over Kiri’s figure as he patiently waited for a response. He let his eyes linger on the visible piercings that his friend already owned, from the dark studs in his lobes to the silver hoops that climbed up the shell of his ear. On each of his eyebrows was a curved barbell; one of his latest piercings added to his ever expanding collection.
“I wanted you to use your quirk on me… At a tattoo parlor.” Kiri’s voice was unnaturally quiet, and his tongue darted out to swipe his bottom lip, the steel of his tongue piercing glinted before disappearing back into his mouth. Part of Shinsou wondered how that cold steel would feel against his own tongue, but he quickly shook the thought away. He didn’t want to start another hopeless crush; not after the first one failed so drastically.
Kiri sighed, louder this time, and dropped his head into his hands on the table. “It was just so… So embarrassing!” Shinsou winced at his volume, which was bordering on wailing at this point, and noticed a few of the other customers glancing in their direction. “I knew it was going to hurt, but I wasn’t expecting my quirk to go off and break the poor guy’s gun! He said it was okay, but I gave him money for a replacement anyways, and oh man… It was just so unmanly of me to not control myself. And now I’m scared to do it again, not because of the tattoo gun, although that little guy is expensive…” Kiri was starting to ramble, acting oblivious to Shinsou’s presence and disappearing into his own thoughts. The action reminded Shinsou of Midoriya, and a small grin flew across his lips. “And money isn’t much of a problem since we’re pros now, but I don’t want to gain the rep of the one guy who’ll destroy your tattoo gun in the blink of an eye, ya know? And-”
Shinsou waved his hand, halting Kiri in his verbal tracks. “Okay, okay. I get it. Did you ever have the same problem with your piercings?”
“No! Those were practically nothing; the pain was there for a second, then gone! But as soon as that needle hit my skin…” He shuddered at the memory. “Man, I’ve been told that it was going to be painful, but that was not like being scratched by a cat, let me tell you!” Shinsou grinned at that answer, knowing what he was referring to. When he had gotten his first tattoo, the artist had told him the same thing, that ‘it’ll feel like being scratched by a cat over and over, no worries honey!’ when in actuality, it was much worse than that. Shinsou knew what it felt like to be scratched by a cat - he had several of them to know - and that was not it.
“Alright, I’ll help you… on one condition.” Kiri’s face brightened up almost instantly, and Shinsou wanted oh-so-badly to lean across the table and smash his lips to the other man’s, yet held back. “If I do this, you’ve gotta cover for dinner.” Kiri laughed at the trade, immediately agreeing and beginning to bubble with excited chatter. Shinsou, however, found himself with a sense of dread; he said he didn’t want to get another crush, yet here he was, setting up dinner for him and a supposed friend that he may have been a little attracted to… Okay, maybe a lot attracted to. He knew he shouldn’t have been, but after the break up between Kiri and Bakugou, Shinsou had become the red-head’s closest friend. He didn’t want to ruin that because of feelings, and he didn’t plan to. Sooner or later, they’d disappear, Shinsou told himself.
Right?
-----------------------------------
If Kirishima was going to be honest, he was terrified of asking Shinsou for his help.
As the two continued down the sidewalk, towards the tattoo parlor that was just able to squeeze Kiri in for a quick appointment, he couldn’t help but continually glance at his violet-eyed friend. Did he think Kiri was more unmanly now? Was he debating on staying as his friend? Did Shinsou hate Kiri for asking him to use his quirk for something so silly? Kiri hoped he didn’t. He liked having Shinsou as a friend, and his looks weren’t all too bad either. Not that Kiri would ever say that aloud; he valued their friendship too much to lose Shinsou because of a little crush.
Kiri looked away from Shinsou, instead daydreaming about the things that have happened to him so far to get him to this point in life. After him and Kat- Bakugou had broken up, Kiri had felt so lost. They’d been glued to the hip since high school, dated for 2 years, before Kirishima had ended the relationship after catching the infamous hot-head in a not-so-accidental position with his “arch nemesis” Midoriya. First, he had been upset, crying for what felt like forever and locking himself in his apartment… Then he was angry, to the point that he made it known to the tabloids who Ground Zero had an affair with, when it had happened, and so forth; all with his usual bright smile on his face. Essentially, it had plummeted Bakugou to the bottom of the popularity scale, especially since he was pretty mouthy to begin with.
After ruining that, Kiri started to go more heavily on his piercings. Before, he only had the two innocent studs in his ears; but that quickly escalated to the metal that now climbed up his entire ear, to the piercings on his eyebrow and tongue, and finally to the most painful of the piercings on his, ahem… miniature Red Riot. Now that was a pain he wasn’t expecting either, but it still didn’t punch him the same way as the attempted tattoo had.
He looked at Shinsou again, catching his violet eyes in his own amber ones, and felt a light blush rise to his cheeks. Shinsou cocked his head to the side. “Are you nervous? You seem to be zoning out.” Shinsou asked curiously. Kiri immediately shook his head, placing a grin on his lips and flashing two thumbs-up in his friend’s direction. “Nah, I’m ready to go! Let’s get this rolli-”
And then he walked straight into a telephone pole.
“Kiri!” Shinsou grabbed his upper arm just as Kiri began to stumble backwards, eyes dazed and blinking, as if unsure on what had just happened. “Jeez, are you okay? You should’ve looked at where you were going instead of at me. I know I’m handsome, but still…” Shinsou’s attempt at a joke managed to make Kiri laugh, if only slightly, before he gently shook of his friend’s hand from his bicep. “I’m okay, I’m okay! I’ve taken tougher hits than that, you know!” As if to prove his point, he activated his quirk and hardened his face, sharp teeth still out for display in a face-breaking smile.
Shinsou sighed, running one hand through his unruly hair, but smiled back nonetheless. “Good thing we’re almost there. You’re sure you’re alright?” He reached a hand out, brushing it against Kiri’s forehead softly. Kiri’s face erupted with heat, turning as red as his dyed hair. “Y-yeah! I’m okay! Weshouldreallygetgoingcmonletsgo.” He practically spit out his words before rushing forward, placing both of his palms on his cheeks as if to hide his blush. Jeez, was he a high school girl in a shoujo manga or something? Hopefully Shinsou didn’t think that was too weird. He risked glancing behind him, watching as Shinsou’s eyes furrowed but followed close behind him.
Shinsou wasn’t exaggerating when he said they were nearing the tattoo shop; it sat at the corner of the street, a neon light blinking in its window to signal that the doors were open to all who dared to enter. For a moment, Kiri felt a chill slide down his spine, and a flashback to the days prior. He was about to turn around and call it quits for the day, yet Shinsou’s hand stopped him. It was warm against his bare forearm, and as the sleeve lifted up, Kiri could see the beginning of his tattoo. Kiri gulped. Not because of nerves, as Shinsou probably thought, but because Kiri had the urge to turn around and abandon the shop to instead shove the quiet man into a wall and kiss him until their lips were bruised. He jumped back for a moment, forcing Shinsou to drop his hand, and grinned weakly. “No time to waste!” He managed to slip the words past his lips before entering the building, trying to shake off the yearning feelings that were beginning to build. He could hear Shinsou sigh behind him, but didn’t think much of it; if Kiri had turned around to look at the purple-haired man, he probably would’ve noticed that Shinsou might’ve been having the same yearning thoughts as him.
The tattoo shop was clean inside, with one wall lined with seats and the other with framed artwork, most likely from the artists available. Straight across from the doorway was a long bar-like surface that blocked off the artists from the customers until both were ready, and in front of the register was a young woman with hair dyed as green as her vibrant eyes. She lifted her attention from her book just as the pair entered, a friendly smile growing on her lips.
“Shin! Long time no see!” She greeted the hero, placing a marker in her novel before closing it. “Were you here to add to the collection already?”
Shinsou laughed, and Kiri noticed the way his shoulder seemed to slouch with comfort. Oh, Kiri thought, eyeing the pair as they talked. This isn’t any tattoo place; this is Shinsou’s go-to. Knowing that the place was one that Shinsou held at such a high regard made Kiri feel warm inside, as if he was making a prominent connection with the violet-eyed man. He stared at the back of his head longingly.
The girl at the front desk craned her neck, eyes straying from Shinsou to instead land on Kiri. Her grin seemed to widen, if that were possible. “And I’d recognize that firetruck-red hair anywhere! Red Riot, am I right?” Kiri shook himself out of his trance and stepped forward with his hand out and his usual smirk. “That’s me! But call me Kirishima, since I’m off-duty!” The comment made the girl tip her head back and laugh as she met his large hand with her small one.
“Well, you’re funny at least.” She said, shooting a look in Shinsou’s direction as if to give him a signal. He shrugged her off, and she redirected her attention back to the awkward pro-hero beside him, releasing his hand in the process. “Have you come to add some ink to that virgin skin of yours?”
“How did you know?”
“Call it a woman’s intellect.”
Shinsou snorted, and dodged just seconds away from being smacked in the face by a flying pen. “Don’t make me angry, or I’ll make your next tattoo your last!” She threatened, although it held no malice in its words.
“Oh! Are you an artist too?”
She looked back to Kirishima with a wicked glint in her eyes. “Oh, I’m the artist to go to, honey. I go by Bambi.” She pointed to a small cardboard sign to her right, and Kiri read the store’s logo for the first time; Bambi’s Ink Corner: For All of Your Good and Bad Decisions.
“So! Since we’ve established that, was there any design specifically I could do for you?”
Feeling more at ease than before, the three of them moved past the bar and further into the parlor, sitting down in plush seats. Shinsou and Kiri sat beside one another, shoulders brushing, with Bambi across from the pair with a sketchbook opened up on her lap and balanced on her knee. Bambi forced Kiri to dictate a majority of the conversation, eyes jumping from her book to the red-haired man as she encouraged him to continue talking about himself, throwing in a few questions here and there. Not even five minutes had passed before Bambi had raised her hand up, halting Kiri mid-sentence. “Okay, I think I’ve got it. Let me know what you think- actually, you come over here. Let’s keep it as a surprise for Sir Stares-a-Lot next to you. Have you even blinked in the past few minutes?” She directed the jab at Shinsou, who rolled his eyes as he looked at Bambi instead, as a light blush dusted his pale cheeks. Kiri, ever so gullible, only blinked in response and moved towards the woman, eyes flitting down to her sketchbook.
Almost immediately, his eyes widened in shock. “Woah! This is amazing!” He gasped, earning a tinkling laugh from Bambi. Shinsou raised a brow at the pair, but kept his lips tight. “Is this for me?” Kiri finally connected the puzzle pieces together, and his face brightened after Bambi nodded.
“We could get the outline done today, and if you decide that you want it colored later on, we can do that too.”
“Y-Yes! That sounds amazing!”
Bambi smiled, and stood from her chair. “Alright! Let’s get started, then. Follow me.”
Kiri could feel the nerves kicking in once more, and he risked a glance at Shinsou, who had already gone back to staring at him. Immediately his ears reddened, but Shinsou didn’t move his gaze. “You’re going to do fine. I’m here for you.” The words probably didn’t mean too much, yet they still had Kiri mentally squealing at how romantic it seemed to sound. Instead, he squared his shoulders and followed Bambi. Shinsou’s shoulder brushed Kiri’s once more, yet Kiri brushed it off as an accident, not realizing that Shinsou liked the warmth that radiated from the red-head’s body. Even if Kiri didn’t realize, Bambi did, and she shot Shinsou a wiggle of her eyebrows.
“Alright, Rock Man. Any specific place you wanted to get this bad boy?”
“Ah… Maybe my back?”
“Back it is, then. Shirt off, stomach down on the table.”
Kiri shot another look at the quiet man accompanying him. Kiri was in fit shape - he worked out constantly, even when it was his day off - but suddenly he felt insecure to show it off in front of Shinsou. After a moment’s hesitation, however, he grasped the hem of his t-shirt and yanked it over his head in one swift movement.
Shinsou had to fight the urge to stare down at the other man's bare torso, and crossed his arms over his chest self-consciously as he risked a glance at the tattoo artist instead. Luckily, Kiri’s face was still hidden in the cloth of his shirt, since the look on Bambi’s left Shinsou with a blush and a stutter. Of course Kiri’s body was well-toned; he was a Pro-Hero of Japan, after all. Compared to his own body, however, Shinsou was a stick. A lanky, lanky stick. Idly, he wondered if Kiri would appreciate his body the same way that Shinsou would. The blush on his pale cheeks deepened.
With the shirt out of the way, Kiri followed Bambi’s directions, arms tucked under his cheek as he rested on his stomach, his toned back out on display for all to see. He shot his purple-haired companion a nervous grin. “This should be a piece of cake, huh?” He laughed, although his voice held the same tenseness his eyes did.
Bambi began prep immediately, slapping on a pair of vinyl gloves and wiping a semi-clear liquid on Kiri’s back. Automatically he jumped up, the coolness of the gel waking him from his own thoughts, and Shinsou smiled at his reaction. “You’ve already got it traced and ready to go?” Kiri asked, eyes moving to Bambi as she sat on a nearby stool, dropping dark ink into a tiny container that was barely the width of Kiri’s thumb. While this was his first tattoo, Kiri had seen enough of his friends get them, as well as the numerous ‘What To Expect…’ videos that flooded his computer. Bambi swung her attention to Shinsou, eyes narrowed, but quickly answered the question. “Of course Shinsou wouldn’t tell you, but I don’t need to. That’s my quirk, sort of; seeing things that aren’t there. So while you don’t see any stencil, I can. All in my mind’s eyes.” She tapped her temple, smirking. “It’s great for a tattoo artist, but not so practical for a Pro-Hero, ya know?”
Kiri breathed out a sigh of relief, yet his shoulders were still tense, especially when Bambi placed her gloved hand on his shoulder in warning. “Ready?” Her voice was light, and came right before the buzzing of the needle. Kiri’s ruby eyes strayed to Shinsou, whose gaze was already trained on the tattoo victim. “Are you ready?” He repeated the question, and after a moment of hesitance Kiri nodded. “I’m ready to roll-” He cut himself off, eyes glazing over as Shinsou’s quirk quickly went into effect. A twinge of guilt rolled through the silent man, yet he clenched his teeth as he remembered that Kiri had asked this of him. “Keep calm, okay? Don’t use your quirk until I say you can, and don’t move no matter what.” Shinsou’s voice was deep, and sleepily Kiri nodded in response, hazy eyes still trained on Shinsou as Bambi began to start. Kiri wasn’t even fazed by the needle as it dug into his skin; instead, a blissed look had overtaken, and a chill ran down Shinsou’s spine as he realized how… dirty his red-haired friend looked at this moment. He repeated his command to Kiri in his mind, tasting the dominance of them, and felt his cock twitch. Don’t you dare, he commanded, glaring at himself. You damn pervert. You’re just helping a friend, so keep your head. He turned back to Kiri, Bambi fixated intently on his back as she worked, and continued to speak softly to the dazed man. “Stay relaxed. What makes you relaxed? You can tell me.”
Although a part of Kiri was lost to Shinsou’s quirk, another part was completely aware of the situation. He knew his body wasn’t responding to him, and knew it was because of Shinsou’s quirk; and he didn’t mind. Not one bit. Partly because he trusted his friend to not cause him any harm, but also because he could stare at his friend so plainly without any worry of being caught. He liked the way Shinsou’s tired eyes stared at him too, unflinching and unwavering. It soothed him. His mouth moved just as the quiet man had asked it to, and Kiri wasn’t sure if the answer was correct or not. “Flowers relax me. Carnations have the best smell, and they remind me of my mom’s house. A warm bowl of ramen with pork. Your eyes. Rom-com movies where…” Kiri’s dreamed-out voice faded from Shinsou’s attention as he froze up, registering the red-head’s words as he leaned forward. His eyes? That wasn’t what he was expecting.
“My eyes? Why?” He asked softly, and Bambi’s eyes flitted to his for a moment before she reabsorbed herself back into her work, tuning their conversation out. Kiri blinked slowly, and a dazed smile graced his lips as he answered. “They’re always so calm. I like that. They make my thoughts go quiet too, and that relaxes me.” His voice was quiet, still holding its usual Kiri-charm, yet more soft somehow. Kiri was always loud, even when he didn’t mean to be. Was that what he meant? That Shinsou’s eyes could quiet him down? Or was Shinsou just grasping at straws?
He shook himself out of his thoughts, ready to talk once more, before Kiri piped up again. “Your face relaxes me, too. Especially when you smile, which you don’t do a lot.” He sighed, his eyes closing for a moment. “I want to make you smile a lot.”
Shinsou felt giddy, which was rare. Was this a confession of sorts? It sounded like one. He wanted to pursue it, so badly that he almost wanted to jab at Kiri until his drunk-like state had spilled all of his emotions, but Shinsou knew he couldn’t do that. It’d be unfair to Kiri, and just imagining that situation happening to himself seemed embarrassing enough. Instead, he pursed his lips, letting a few beats of silence carry that conversation away, before continuing to murmur words of comfort, keeping Kiri under his control.
Kiri, on the other hand, was absolutely mortified.
How could he say all of that?! Oh god, if there had been any moment of his life where he had thought this is the most embarrassing moment of my life, then this would be it. He couldn’t even control what he was saying, yet listening to himself spew out the truth like a water fountain had him mentally banging his head against a concrete wall. And Shinsou’s reaction! It was so blank, shock only registering for a millisecond before it was wiped away. What was he thinking about all of Kiri’s words? Did he not like him in that way? Of course he didn’t… doesn’t. Kiri swore to himself. Why would he? You’re nothing special.
The session went on for at least an hour - Kiri wasn’t sure, but it felt longer than that - until Bambi finally dropped her needle onto the metal tray to her side. She swiped the back of her hand over her glistening forehead. “Okay! Done for the day!” As soon as the words had left her lips, Kiri’s eyes flooded with life once more, and he gasped at the newfound soreness that covered his back. It didn’t hurt, not at all; he compared it to a bruise. A very, very big bruise. Shinsou was right beside him in a moment. “You alright? How’s your head?” The concern was endearing, but all Kiri could focus on was the palm resting on his outer shoulder, as Shinsou’s face reflected back in his mind from earlier. His cheeks exploded in red. “G-good to go!” He shouted a bit too loudly, and practically leapt out of his chair, wincing slightly at the sudden movement.
Bambi, of course, almost threw a fit when he moved, and lightly slapped his bare chest before finishing him up, hiding the new ink with a large black pad and securing it with clear plastic wrap. She explained the care instruction to him, even handing him a print-out of the instructions as she continued to speak, and it was at that moment that Shinsou realized he had no idea what tattoo his friend had gotten. He hasn't strayed from the red-head’s eyes the entire time. He mentally cursed himself as Kiri gingerly replaced his shirt back onto his torso.
“It’s pretty big, so make sure to wash it carefully in an hour or so. Shinsou’s gotcha if you need help, which you probably will. Right?” Her bright eyes strayed to the said man’s and he nodded. “Great. Well, thanks for the business! Head home before it gets dark, okay?”
“Wait! I haven’t paid yet!’
Bambi snorted at Kiri’s response. “Well, of course not. Shinsou already did that.”
Kiri immediately turned to Shinsou, nearly breaking his neck in the process. “But- Why- You didn’t-” He stumbled over his words, and Shinsou grinned. That seemed to shut him up quickly enough.
“Think of it as a belated gift. You’re welcome.”
Kiri’s face bloomed. “Jeez, man. You’re too nice.” He raised his hand to rest on Shinsou’s arm, but paused in mid-air, before deciding to gently fist-bump his shoulder instead. As Kiri headed to the exit, Shinsou cocked his head at him in confusion. From the counter, Bambi sighed. “Ugh. You two, I swear.” She muttered, but before Shinsou could question her further, she rushed forward and practically shoved him out of the shop, promptly locking the door behind him. He grunted at her force, and luckily Kiri had turned around to see what the commotion was about to catch the purple-eyed man. “Woah! You okay?” Kiri asked, and Shinsou fought down the blush that threatened to rise as Kiri’s strong arms wrapped around his thin frame. It was a nice feeling, and Kiri’s body radiated warmth, making Shinsou wish to lean into him more. Hell, after the dazed conversation from moments ago, he almost did. Then he remembered that Kiri hadn’t been in his right mind during the time, and untangled himself from the red-head’s embrace.
“Yes, thank you.” Shinsou’s voice sounded uncomfortably stiff to his own ears, but Kiri didn’t seem to notice as he smiled. “Alright! Well, I was hoping you’d help me wash this bad boy when the time comes, and I’m pretty sure I’ve got the ingredients needed for some pork ramen… For some reason, it sounds really good right now. Are you interested?”
A hesitant lump lodged itself in Shinsou’s throat. Kiri’s apartment. Just the two of them. Was that even a valid question? “Sure. Lead the way.”  Kiri pumped his fist into the air at Shinsou’s response, a beautiful grin spreading across his lips.
“All right! Let’s goooo!” He was practically skipping down the street, and it was only after he had turned away that Shinsou permitted the redness to spread from his ears to his cheeks. Awkwardly, he slapped his palms across them, as if trying to hide his embarrassment. Just friends. He repeated in his head, following the loud man as he tried to calm his racing heart. We’re just friends, and after I talk to him about my eyes, I’ll make sure of that. He doesn’t like me like that.
Shinsou continued to repeat the words in his head, not noticing how Kiri’s own face had heated up in a similar way as he walked. He had been repeating a similar mantra in his head, although the only difference in his was what if he feels the same way?
Kiri planned to get to the bottom of that question over a bowl of pork ramen, whether Shinsou was prepared for it or not.

Ladrien: Drunk Ladybug on My Balcony? Yeah. This is Fine.: Chapter Seven
Read it on AO3: Drunk Ladybug on My Balcony? Yeah. This is Fine.: Chapter Seven: Encore Performance
Marinette was still giddy from her heart-to-heart conversation with Chat Noir the next day as she flopped down on Alya’s bed and pulled the same throw pillow to her chest that Adrien had been squeezing excitedly the night before.
“It’s just so freeing!” she giggled. “It feels amazing to have it all out on the table finally. I should have told him years ago, but I was afraid he’d wear me down and make me change my mind if I gave him even a hint about my feelings. He’s so stubborn, Alya, and he doesn’t always think things through, but…” She finally took a breath as she beamed in awe of the outcome. “He really heard me about how dangerous it could be bringing romantic feelings into our partnership while Papillon is active. He heard me, and he respected my decision, Alya. He’s really grown over the past few years. He’s a lot more mature.”
“I’m happy for you, Girl,” Alya chuckled with an indulgent smile, giving up hope of getting any editing done. “Sooo…now that you’re all squared away with Chat Noir…are you ready to finally resolve the Adrien dilemma?”
Marinette sat up with a jolt, her euphoria fading. “What? Now?!”
“Well, yeah.” Alya shrugged as if it were a matter of course. “Didn’t you tell me last night that you’d told Chat Noir that you were tired of wasting time on the Adrien problem but that it seemed a shame to let all the years of your life you’ve already poured into this go to waste by not actually ever telling Adrien how you feel? I vote you get some closure, Marinette. The sooner the better.”
Marinette pursed her lips, not looking convinced. “I don’t know, Alya. I’m kind of having a good day. What would really be a shame is if I ruined it by confessing to Adrien, making a fool out of myself, getting rejected, and completely messing up our friendship with my feelings.”
Alya groaned but resisted the urge to pull her hair out. She got up from her desk and went over to sit on the bed beside Marinette, taking her best friend’s hand in her own. “Marinette, listen to me.”
She fixed Marinette with an intent gaze, clearly enunciating, “He likes you. He really, really likes you, and if you bring him flowers and ask him on a date, he will be putty in your hands because he thinks you’re amazing.”
She wished she could break confidence with Adrien and just tell Marinette about Adrien’s crush on her, but she couldn’t bear to betray the poor cupcake like that. She wasn’t just his friend because he was Nino’s best friend and Marinette’s love interest anymore. True, it had started like that, but things had changed over the years. They were genuine friends now, and friends didn’t spill secrets entrusted to them, even if it would make setting up her two favourite idiots a heck of a lot easier.
“I don’t know, Alya,” Marinette sighed, looking away and focusing her gaze on the posters on Alya’s wall, not really seeing them.
“Well, you could always just try,” Alya urged, strongly tempted to scream and bang her head against her desk. “Just really no pressure ask him if he wants to get coffee as a date. Seriously. Hand him a rose and say, ‘You know, I really like you, Adrien. Would you be interested in going on a date to see how things go? Maybe get coffee together?’ He will definitely say yes, I promise you. After he’s done blushing and processing that you, the great Marinette Dupain-Cheng, have deigned to notice him.”
Marinette rolled her eyes and turned back to glare, perturbed, at her friend. “Alya, he’s literally a model. He gets hit on all the time. There’s no way I’m going to fluster him by asking him out to coffee. I am under no delusion that Adrien Agreste thinks I’m out of his league. Thank you for the encouragement, but let’s try to keep expectations realistic.”
Alya tried not to pout. Screaming and pulling her hair were sounding really, really good.
Maybe she needed to just lock them in a closet together and not let them out until they kissed. That always worked in the movies, right?
“I think it’s more likely that he’ll like the rose, be flattered by my confession, but won’t feel the same way, so he’ll politely turn me down,” Marinette went on, oblivious to Alya’s mounting frustration.
“Well, then, go confess and get turned down politely, then. Then you’ll have your answer and be able to move on without regrets,” Alya snapped impatiently, causing Marinette to look at her in surprise.
“I’m sorry,” Marinette apologized uncertainly. “I know I’m a huge pain and you’ve been dealing with this for years now, but…I just can’t help it. The boy makes me stupid and nervous and…and he brings out all of my insecurities and fears. It’s just…I’ve put so much time and effort into this…for it to all be over in such an anticlimactic way…” She shook her head sadly. “I’m really sorry, Alya. I know I’m a mess. Thank you for putting up with me.”
Alya heaved an enormous sigh, pulling Marinette into a tight embrace. “Girl, I’m not mad at you. I’m mad because I want you to be happy, and you can be if you would just get out of your own way. I’m sorry. I just want good things for you.”
Marinette squeezed back, burying her face in Alya’s hair. “Thanks, Alya. I don’t know what I would do without you. Thanks for being such an amazing friend.”
With a sigh, Alya pulled back, giving Marinette’s cheek an affectionate pat. “I’ll tell you what I’m going to do. I’m going to tell you a secret, but you can’t tell anyone I told.”
Marinette nodded. “Of course. What is it?”
“Adrien told me the other day that he has the biggest, most embarrassing crush on Ladybug,” Alya announced, praying that Adrien would forgive her once he and Marinette were blissfully happy together.
Marinette blinked in confusion. “He…what?”
“He’s over the moon for her,” Alya reiterated. “Total goner. Girl, he’s crazy about you. At least, a part of you. Knowing that, do you think you can confess to him? I mean, he already likes a part of you, and he’s always calling Marinette his ‘Everyday Ladybug’, so he obviously sees you in yourself, so...can you just ask him to get coffee with you now, please?” Alya begged, beyond desperate. “Maybe now it’ll be easier knowing he’s going to say yes.”
Marinette was still utterly taken aback. “He likes…Ladybug?”
“Yes,” Alya replied emphatically. “And guess who’s Ladybug.”
“…Me,” Marinette slowly realized.
“Yep.” Alya gave Marinette a clap on the back. “And I swear he thinks Marinette is just about as wonderful as Ladybug in every way, shape, and form, so go on out there and get yourself a date, okay?”
Marinette began to nod, the gears in her head starting to turn.
Adrien liked Ladybug. Marinette was Ladybug.
“Okay,” she giggled, feeling giddy at the sudden rush brought on by that realization. “Okay!”
“Awesome!” Alya cheered, feeling the weight of years of frustration finally come off her shoulders. “Now that that’s settled, let’s make lunch. All this matchmaking is exhausting work.”
Adrien was lounging upside down on his couch with his legs draped over the back, reading volume three of Monokuro Shounen Shoujo when a tentative knock came at his window, startling him and causing him to drop his manga.
There, standing on the lip of his window, smiling sheepishly and waving at him, was Ladybug.
He’d had this dream many times over the years, so it took him a minute to discern that he was, in fact, very much awake. That accomplished, he hurriedly swung his legs around and got to his feet, rushing to open the already unlocked window for her.
“Ladybug. Um…hi. Hello. Come in. How are you this fine evening?” he babbled, motioning her in as he tried to get a hold of himself.
It was a little difficult as his mind flew off in a dozen different directions, including, “Ladybug is in my bedroom.”, “Does she know my identity?”, “I’m wearing my pyjamas. Ladybug now knows I own handmade Ladybug pyjamas.”, “I’m such a mess. Ladybug probably thinks I look like a slob.”, and “Ladybug is in my bedroom!”
“Good evening,” Ladybug greeted softly, a rosy blush highlighting her lovely cheekbones. “I’m really sorry to barge in unannounced like this. I hope I’m not interrupting.”
“Not at all!” he assured, maybe a little too loudly. “I’m glad you’re here. I mean…”
He rubbed at the back of his neck, wondering where the heck all these nerves were coming from. Hadn’t he just sat under the stars with her, holding her hand for nearly an hour the previous evening? There was just something about being there with her without the mask for him to hide behind. He felt so exposed as Adrien. It was one thing to be bold and speak his mind as a superhero whose mettle had been tested. Standing before her as just plain Adrien with nothing but fame, fortune, and good looks to recommend him was more than a little intimidating.
He cleared his throat, took a deep breath, and forced himself to act naturally.
“Sorry. I mean that it’s an honor to be paid a visit by Paris’s favourite hero,” he recovered nicely with a charming smile that his photographer always lavished praise upon.
Ladybug seemed to appreciate it, chuckling as her smile widened and her blush spread.
“Was there something in particular you needed, Ladybug?” he attempted to suss out the purpose of her visit. “Or, if this is purely a social call, that’s fine too,” he quickly added.
“Oh.” She gave a start, as if suddenly remembering herself. “Sorry. I guess it does feel pretty random having a superhero unexpectedly show up at your window. I was just…” She bit her lip and shifted her weight anxiously. “Sorry,” she laughed, making herself take a shaky breath. “Nervous. I’ve been trying to psych myself up to do this for a long time, so…”
She raised her hand, extending it out to him, and, for the first time, he noticed the single red rose she held.
His eyes widened as he looked back and forth between her and the flower, unsure of what to make of it.
“Here.” She offered him the rose again, her whole face now dusted red in embarrassment. “It’s for you. It…It goes with my suit,” she added, obviously flustered. She winced. “Not that that really means anything to you, but—”
“—Thank you,” he interrupted in an attempt to save her from any additional word vomit.
He reached out and took the rose with a warm, reassuring smile, still not sure what was going on but recognizing a need for intervention from his many years of friendship with Marinette.
Their fingers brushed, making Ladybug jump reflexively, even though he was certain there was no way she could have felt the touch through her suit.
“I love roses,” he continued. “My mother used to grow them, so I have many fond memories of the scent of roses, the feel of their petals, how pretty they look when the sun hits them just right…. It’s such a lovely gift, so thank you.”
He brought it up to his nose, closing his eyes as he inhaled its perfume.
Ladybug curled her fingers into fists, gathering her courage. She took a slow breath in, exhaled, and squeaked, “You’re hot! Get coffee with me?!”
Adrien’s eyes snapped open, and he stared at her in shock as he recalled what he had told Ladybug as Chat Noir the night before about confessing to her mystery boy.
Ladybug took his stunned silence the wrong way and began to panic. “No big deal! No pressure! Just…” She grimaced, groaning in frustration. “I am so sorry. I sound like a crazy fangirl. I swear I’m not like that. I-I like you, Adrien.” She looked back up at him with desperate tears beading in the corners of her eyes as she confessed, “I like you. I know we don’t know each other well, but, from what I’ve seen—your bravery, your determination, your unwillingness to give up—I like you, and I admire you, and I heard you were a fan of mine, so I thought…maybe we could go get coffee and get to know one another better. I’m not asking to be your girlfriend or for any kind of commitment or anything, but could we maybe just get coffee and see how it goes from there? Is that…too ridiculous to ask?”
Adrien was barely able to process all of the incoming information that she was throwing at him. It shouldn’t be possible, but…all signs were pointing to the mystery boy being him. Which meant that she really loved him, both sides of him. Which meant that he probably knew her in real life because there was no way the smart, down-to-earth woman he knew would fall that hard for a boy she had only talked to in short snatches over the years. Ladybug wasn’t the type to devote herself wholeheartedly to a celebrity crush. She knew him, and he was not allowing himself to think about that too hard because he knew how important her secret identity was to her, and it would be a total breech of trust for him to purposely try to figure her out, tempting as it may be.
Besides, now wasn’t the time for thinking. He needed to get ahold of himself and respond because she was panicking and likely to go into a full-on anxiety attack if he didn’t say something soon.
He awkwardly took her hands in his, careful not to smash the rose as he did so. “Ladybug, calm down. It’s okay. I am beyond flattered that you would even ask.”
“But you don’t feel the same way,” she immediately jumped to conclusions, a cold terror washing over her and tying her stomach into knots. “Oh my gosh! I’m so sorry to bother you! I—”
“—Ladybug,” he cut her off with a fond chuckle. “Listen to me. I am beyond flattered that you would even ask because I have had an embarrassingly huge crush on you since I was thirteen, and I never thought someone as amazing and pretty and talented as you would ever deign to notice me.”
She blinked at him uncomprehendingly. “But…you’re so wonderful,” she informed him, sounding mystified. “How could someone not notice you?”
Adrien smiled sadly as his eyes dropped to the side momentarily. “I’m afraid I don’t always see it the way you do.” He looked back up at her. “I’m sure you doubt yourself sometimes too, don’t you?”
Her mouth rounded into a small “o” of understanding.
“Yeah,” he chuckled. “I know I’m portrayed a certain way in the media, but the persona I put out there for public consumption isn’t necessarily the real me. I’m actually a huge dork and a little socially inept. I hope I don’t disappoint you.”
She shook her head vehemently. “No. No, not at all. I totally get that. I mean, the public thinks Ladybug is practically infallible, so I constantly feel like I have to live up to that image, but…I try my best, but it’s impossible to be perfect, so…but I could never be disappointed in you, Adrien,” she assured, giving his hand a squeeze that sent his heart soaring.
“The real you may be nerdy, but he’s also kind and valiant and creative and resilient,” she insisted. “I know you probably think you failed when I gave you the Snake Miraculous, but you most definitely didn’t.”
His eyebrow slowly arched at her assertion. “You don’t think so?”
She shook her head, stepping in closer. “Adrien, I was the one who didn’t set you up to succeed. I should have waited for Chat Noir. Maybe then it would have worked, but…looking back with a clearer head, that Miraculous wasn’t a good match for you in the first place, but you did an amazing job even then. You kept trying past the point when anyone else would have given up, and I was really impressed by that, impressed by you. No matter what you think of yourself, I’ll always think you’re amazing…so…coffee?”
She cocked her head to the side and gave him a hopeful smile.
It took a lot of self-control for Adrien not to jump up and down for joy. Instead, he grinned like the cat who’d gotten into the cream and squeezed her hands.
“I would love to get coffee with you.” He almost squealed at the very thought. “Actually…would it be okay if I took you on a full-fledged date?” he inquired tentatively, pressing his luck. “If you just want to start with coffee to test the waters, that’s totally fine, but…” He trailed off, letting her make the call without pressuring her further.
“A date…would be nice,” she decided, her face starting to hurt from smiling so hard. “I’d really like to go on a date.”
His grin spread even wider at her answer, and he couldn’t help but bounce in place in his excitement. “Awesome! That is awesome. When? When works for you?”
“You probably have the busier schedule,” she pointed out with a chuckle. “I’m fairly flexible with advance warning so long as there’s no akuma attack. Maybe this coming Saturday or Sunday afternoon? Do either of those days work for you?”
He scanned his mental calendar thoughtfully before informing, “Saturday is probably best. My days typically start early or go late, so afternoon is usually best.” A thought suddenly occurred to him, causing him to frown. “Except that my father is constantly adding things to my schedule last minute, so… Sorry. I’ll try to get out of it if he tries anything like that Saturday, but if I do have to cancel on you, please know that it was completely out of my control and I would like nothing more than to be on a date with you.”
“No worries,” she chuckled, heart brimming over at that little tidbit of information.
Adrien was always so painfully sweet, and he said the most romantic things.
“I totally understand,” she assured. “Um…I should probably give you my number so that we can hash out the details via text and you can let me know if you do have to cancel.”
“Is it really okay for me to have your number?” he wondered, eyes going wide.
She worried her bottom lip between her teeth, rethinking the offer. “I mean…maybe. Obviously, don’t save my number under ‘Ladybug’ or anything, but it should be okay. I doubt you’re going to give it to anyone else or prank call me or anything, so…”
“I would never,” he assured.
He may have been tempted to call and bother her about mundane things as Chat Noir, but he would never abuse this trust she was placing in him as Adrien.
“Okay.” She gave a decisive nod. “Give me your number, and I’ll text you so that you’ll have mine.”
He readily complied and was soon in possession of the holy grail: Ladybug’s number. Of course, it probably wasn’t her personal number (Chat Noir’s number on his baton did not match Adrien’s), and he technically already had it on his Chat Noir phone, but the act of her giving it to him made it finally feel legitimate.
“What are you saving it as?” she inquired curiously, going up on the balls of her feet to try to catch a peek at his phone screen.
“‘Eve 6’,” he replied, turning the phone to show her once he was done. “They’re a band my friend Luka likes. They have a song called ‘Superhero Girl’, so…” He shrugged. “My brain makes funny connections like that.”
But Ladybug wasn’t concerned with the automatic associations his brain made. She was too caught up in squinting at his screen in confusion. He’d saved her contact information to his favourites, and it wasn’t a long list: Gabriel Agreste, Alya (Lois Lane on Steroids) Césaire, Orpheus Couffaine, Eve 6, (Victor) le Gorille, Ninja Turtle Lahiffe, Maman, Nathalie, and…Princesse.
Her brow furrowed in confusion. “Who’s ‘Princesse’?”
Adrien’s eyes widened as he whipped his head around to stare at his phone in surprise, obviously not having thought twice about the nickname in years. “Oh. Yeah. Um…That would be Marinette. You know my friend Marinette Dupain-Cheng?”
She blinked at him blankly. “Uh…Yeah. Yeah, I know Marinette. That’s…an interesting nickname.”
The thing that had her most puzzled was how Chat Noir and Adrien had both come up with the same nickname for her. Was there something innately princess-like about Marinette that she just wasn’t aware of? Did she give off a damsel in distress vibe or something? She wasn’t sure how to feel about that.
“I think it’s fitting,” he replied, rubbing at the back of his neck. “Marinette’s really epic. I mean, don’t get me started because I can and will rant about how amazing this girl is, but she reminds me of a Disney princess. She’s so kind and so good and unbelievably clever. She always stands up for people and does the right thing and uses her creativity to solve problems and save the day. She’s the kind of everyday hero they make movies about, so…she’s more of a ‘kick butt and save the world’ princess than a princess in a tower, but a princess is a princess, and Marinette is a princess.”
He ended his speech with a little “it can’t be helped” shrug.
Meanwhile, Ladybug was trying not to internally combust because Adrien Agreste was the most precious, sweetest human being, and she loved him so much. How could he say such nice things about her with a completely straight face?!
“Wow.” She tried to clear her throat. “You… That’s…”
“A little intense?” he asked through a grimace. “Yeah,” he sighed. “I know. To be honest, I kind of have a bit of a crush on her.”
“What?!” she shrieked.
Her temperature shot through the roof, and her eyeballs felt like they were about ready to pop out of their sockets.
Adrien took her outburst the wrong way and instinctively put his hands up in a placating gesture. “Not to worry! Marinette only thinks of me as a friend. My crush is totally one-sided, and I’m extremely loyal as a partner. To a fault, actually,” he chuckled weakly, thinking of the years he’d continued to carry a flame for the woman in front of him to the exclusion of all others.
“If you and I decide we want to pursue a relationship, my feelings for Marinette won’t be an issue,” he assured. “Seriously. She really doesn’t think of me like that.”
Ladybug’s eyes narrowed as she wondered how on earth he could be so oblivious to her ridiculous crush on him. “How can you be so sure that Marinette doesn’t return your feelings?”
He shrugged. “She’s told me several times over the years that she doesn’t think about me that way. She’s a big fan of my father’s work, but her feelings for me are purely platonic. If Marinette was interested in me, she would have said something by now. She’s really brave and straightforward when she wants something. She’s not afraid of anyone. Heck, she’s even stood up to my father on my behalf at least twice a year, so…I’m pretty sure she’d say something if she were interested in me romantically.”
Ladybug had the distinct urge to go home and bang her head against one of the wooden beams supporting her loft.
She buried her frustration with herself, however, and pasted on the best appeased smile that she could. “Okay. Well. That sounds… That’s good.”
Adrien cringed. “I’m sorry. Developing feelings for Marinette wasn’t something I could really help. Is this a deal-breaker?”
She gave a start. “What?! No! Not at all. That’s… It’s… It’s good. It’s fine. You’re fine. Seriously. I just…I was a little taken aback, but I am still very much interested in you, and I have no doubt that you will be true to your word, and your feelings for Marinette won’t be an issue.”
“Oh,” he sighed in relief, his luminescent grin returning to light up the room once more. “Good. I’m so glad you feel that way because I am seriously looking forward to our date.”
She managed to smooth out her facial expression in order to give him a genuine smile. “Me too. …But I should get going. I didn’t mean to stay so long. I’ll text you about the details?”
He nodded enthusiastically. “Can’t wait.”
“Same,” she chuckled, stepping back and readying her yoyo. “Night, night, Beau Gosse.”
With a wink, she blew him a kiss and slipped off into the night.
He caught the kiss and pressed it to his heart, nearly swooning as he watched her go.
“Oh my God,” Plagg hissed in disgust, coming out of hiding in his sock drawer once the coast was clear. “I can’t believe she confessed to you as Ladybug. What was Tikki thinking, letting her do that?”
“Oh my gosh,” Adrien sighed dreamily, sinking down onto the couch and throwing his head back to laugh in unrestrained glee. “Plagg, she loves me! I’m the other guy! I mean, I have to be, right? I just told her last night to tell the guy he was hot and ask him to coffee, and—”
“—Kid, I hate to burst your bubble, but you can’t secretly date your superhero partner,” Plagg interrupted, not sounding the least bit loathe to suck all the joy out of the moment. “You should tell Ladybug that you can’t date a masked superhero and then go ask your girlfriend out. We had a plan with the waiting until after Butterfly Breath was in jail to reveal identities and date Ladybug. You were supposed to be happy now with Marinette.”
Adrien chewed on the inside of his cheek as a large part of the joy he had felt seconds before faded.
Deep down, he knew Plagg was right, but…
“…But I want to date Ladybug now,” he whined, running his hands roughly back and forth through his hair.
Plagg shrugged. “Tough. Ever hear the expression that good things are worth waiting for?”
“I don’t like that expression,” Adrien pouted. “Haven’t I waited long enough already? Seven years is a long time, Plagg, and I feel like we’ve already wasted that time, so why can’t we just be happy together already?”
Slowly, Plagg shook his head. “But she doesn’t know you’re you. Do you really think you can live hiding that from her? You won’t feel like you’re being dishonest or tricking her? You won’t be disappointed because she doesn’t recognize you? She’s going to treat you differently as Adrien. Adrien isn’t her partner. Adrien isn’t her trusted best friend. It’s not going to be the same as when you’re Chat Noir with her.”
Adrien looked down at his feet, frowning, trying not to hear the things Plagg was saying.
“Ignoring the truth doesn’t make it less true, Kid,” Plagg added gently, floating over to land on Adrien’s head and affectionately start grooming his kitten.
“I know,” Adrien mumbled, reaching up to carefully scoop Plagg into his hand.
“Thanks, Plagg.” He brought the kwami down to his face to nuzzle.
“Sure thing,” Plagg promised, for once not putting up his usual aloof front. “…Think about it,” he urged. “The last thing you need is to be dating Ladybug and still be miserable. …Maybe talk about it with your one friend,” he suggested.
Adrien looked up. “You mean Alya?”
Plagg shrugged. “Sure. She’s supposedly Ladybug’s friend, isn’t she? Maybe she can help you talk it out.”
“Can we go now?” Adrien inquired hopefully, perking up.
Plagg sighed, his whole body slumping. “Oh, all right, but let me get some cheese first, will you?”

Bookshelf Briefs 9/30/20
Accomplishments of the Duke’s Daughter, Vol. 6 | By Reai and Suki Umemiya | Seven Seas – Another series down to “once a year” release—I had to jog my memory at the start to recall what had been happening. Many things are going wrong for our heroine, who is trying to be strong and tough but is also starting to break down, and I felt that the scenes with her and Dean struck just the right balance of comforting and letting the heroine cry without making her seem weaker. This sets the stage for her comeback, which is extraordinary. (And also has a corrupt Church, a constant in Japanese light novels, though at least here there are also honest and good religious people in it.) That said, eventually Dean’s identity will come out, and I do wonder how this very good “villainess” isekai will handle it. – Sean Gaffney
The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Jack Flash and the Faerie Case Files, Vol. 1 | By Yu Godai, Mako Oikawa, and Kore Yamazaki | Seven Seas – A faerie switched at birth for a human child, Jack never fit in in either world. Only in the mortal realm could she earn money for anime collectibles, however, so she decided to make herself into a tough, capable woman like her literary heroes and set up shop as a detective. Together with her fellow changeling, Larry the werewolf, Jack takes on supernatural cases in New York City. In this volume, Lindel tasks them with tracking down a missing dragon egg. I liked the resources Jack uses to obtain information, which include a dapper theatre ghost and a spell with components of rat whiskers and taxi tires because “Nobody out there knows this city better than them.” I still found this a bit hard to get into, though, especially the parts involving a perpetually tearful off-off-off-off-Broadway actress and her pickpocket boyfriend. Still, I will check out volume two! – Michelle Smith
Black Clover, Vol. 22 | By Yuki Tabata | Viz Media – At long last, this interminable arc comes to an end. I enjoyed a lot of it, but I cannot deny it should have been about two volumes shorter. Most of the book is taken up by shonen battles, with the villain being nigh unkillable, the heroes almost breaking themselves to stop him, etc. Fortunately, the day is saved, and even the Wizard King turns out to be… sort of alive again? Shota fans should be happy. Asta fans perhaps less so—the sheer amount of damage done to the kingdom in this arc means someone has to be blamed, and give Asta has the “dark evil magic” it’s gonna be him, especially when he takes the incredibly obvious bait they use to get him to fight. Oh well, if Asta were smart, this wouldn’t be Black Clover. – Sean Gaffney
Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, Vol. 3 | By Nanashi | Vertical Comics – Part of the problem with titles like this and the other teasing works (Takagi-san less so as Nishikata doesn’t fall into the category) is that they are, at heart, the classic “extroverted girl acts overtly extroverted to bring introverted guy out of their shell,” and that’s not really a plot that feels comfortable in the Gen Z days, where you’re more likely to say “why doesn’t she just let him be in his quiet, safe space?” And by she I mean they, as Nagatoro’s two friends appear far more often here, which offers some good two-way teasing action, as they clearly see her crush on him, if not why. It’s still sort of hard to read, but if you pretend he’s more OK with it than he actually is, this is cute. – Sean Gaffney
Failed Princesses, Vol. 1 | By Ajiichi | Seven Seas – The concept of “popular girl meets unpopular girl” is a common one in yuri manga, and we do indeed hit several of its tropes in this first volume. The amusing thing is that Kanade, the shy outcast girl, is perfectly aware of how things are supposed to go, and keeps pulling back a bit to try to save Nanaki from, well, making herself an outcast by associating with the wrong people. The best part of the volume is that Nanaki really doesn’t give two shits about any of that, and seems set on making Kanade her best friend… and also making her over, which backfires a bit as Kanade cleans up nicely. I hear this gets a bit dramatic later, but for the moment it’s a cute and fluffy proto-yuri story. – Sean Gaffney
In/Spectre, Vol. 12 | By Kyo Shirodaira and Chashiba Katase | Kodansha Comics – The first story in this volume is another “Rikka tries to make people understand Kotoko is an evil Machiavellian schemer,” this time with one of her ex-classmates, but again the response seems to be “we know she’s a manipulative bitch, but she’s a good person anyway.” The larger story, which will continue into the next book, seems to be a chance to write Kuro and Kotoko as an actual romance, as the man we meet here and his relationship with a yuki-onna… as well as his penchant for attracting misfortune… very much parallel them. That said, they’re very cute together, which is why I hope he avoids the murder charge he’s now being investigated for. Still a favorite. – Sean Gaffney
Interviews with Monster Girls, Vol. 8 | By Petos | Kodansha Comics – The author knows what people want to see, but also knows that the best way to get readers is to drive them crazy by not showing it. We finally get what we’ve been begging for here, as Tetsuo asks Sakie out on a date. (This is after rejecting Kyouko’s love confession, both because she’s his student and also, as he is forced to admit, as he likes Sakie.) The stage is set for the date… and the rest of the book is thus spent with the three main student girls going to Kyouko’s for a fireworks viewing and meeting her family. They’re good chapters, and I really liked showing how difficult Kyouko has it as a dullahan in terms of everyday life, but GOD, please get back to the teachers, I beg you! – Sean Gaffney
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Vol. 16 | By Aka Akasaka | Viz Media – The series has gotten to the point where the more rewarding chapters are the ones as part of a larger arc. Not that the one-shot chapters are bad—though Maki’s journey to India may be the most pointless thing in this entire series to date, we do get Chika’s iconic “shut up or I’ll kill you” here. But the larger arcs, featuring Miyuki and Kaguya attempting to date without interruptions, and setting up Ishigami and Iino for a romance—though given the number of limbs broken in this book, and Iino’s own horrible lack of self-awareness, it may be a ways out—are better. This series is still hilarious, but we’ve come to read it more for the heartwarming moments. Heck, there’s even some serious drama here. Very good. – Sean Gaffney
Nineteen | By Ancco | Drawn & Quarterly – Although it was translated and released second in English, Nineteen is a precursor to Ancco’s internationally award-winning manhwa Bad Friends. The volume collects thirteen short comics originally published in Korea over a decade ago which absolutely remain relevant to today’s world. While understandably not as polished as some of Ancco’s later work—one can observe her style evolving and growing over the course of the collection (which is fascinating)—the comics still carry significant emotional weight and impact. Nineteen includes diary comics, which tend to be more lighthearted, as well as harder-hitting fictional stories, many of which also have autobiographical inspiration. As a whole, the collection explores themes of young adulthood, growing up, and complicated family relationships. In particular, there is a compelling focus on the relationships among daughters, mothers, and grandmothers. Some of the narratives can be rather bleak, but a resigned sense of humor threads through Nineteen, too. – Ash Brown
Ran the Peerless Beauty, Vol. 8 | By Ammitsu | Kodansha Comics (digital only) – Shoujo manga that has couples getting together BEFORE the end of the series is inevitably going to have an arc dealing with how far the lead couple should go now that they’re dating, and this is Ran’s turn, as she and Akira and their friends go to a beach house Ran’s family owns and have some beach fun. Unfortunately, the cast gets winnowed down one by one until it’s just the two of them… and her overprotective father, who arrives in time to provide the cliffhanger and no doubt ensure that nookie does not ensue. Not that I think it should—these two kids are even purer than the couple from Kimi ni Todoke, and I think they should mature a bit more before going further. Plus, watching them blush and kiss is wonderful. – Sean Gaffney
Spy x Family, Vol. 2 | By Tatsuya Endo | Viz Media – Having spent our first volume establishing that our found family can really come to love each other deep down, this volume shows off how they are also, at heart, fundamentally awkward and unable to socialize normally. This is unsurprising—hints of Loid’s life we’ve seen show him as a war orphan, Yor is a contract killer, and Anya basically grew up being experimented on by bad guys. As the school soon finds, this leads to issues. The second half of the book introduces Yor’s sister-obsessed little brother Yuri, who turns out to be a torture expert for Loid’s enemies. As always, half the fun is that everyone except Anya has no idea who their real selves are, and the cliffhanger tells us we’re in for some hilarious family fun. I love this. – Sean Gaffney
Spy x Family, Vol. 2 | By Tatsuya Endo | VIZ Media – After a brief spell atop the waiting list, Anya officially makes it into Eden Academy. Loid is anxious to progress to the next stage of his mission and, believing there’s not much chance in turning Anya into an elite scholar like his agency wants, focuses instead on having her befriend the younger son of his target. It does not go to plan, of course. Anya is very cute in this volume, and I also really appreciated how Loid genuinely listens to Yor and values her input. The arrival of Yor’s brother, a member of the secret police, is going to be a fun complication, and another cast member with a secret, but my favorite part of this series is probably always going to be how much love these three are already feeling for each other. So unique and good! – Michelle Smith
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, Vol. 6 | By Tomo Hirokawa, based on the story by Reki Kawahara | Yen Press – The weakness of this manga is the same as always—it’s written to tie into the games, and features several characters I just don’t recognize, which can be a problem given this is the big final let’s-save-the-world ending. That said, this is still a decent SAO title. Kirito gets to be cool and badass, but because this isn’t written just by Kawahara others do as well, and it’s a nice balanced effort that focuses on heroine Premiere. I also really liked the point where all the NPCs are worried when everyone has to log out for several days for maintenance. While I’ll still remember this as the “SAO only everyone is alive” manga, I enjoyed reading it, when I wasn’t confused. – Sean Gaffney

Star Boy (Yoosung x Reader) Pt.2
★ ━ 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩: 3.2k
Part 1
Part 3
Part 4
Bonus: Alternate ending
It was a rather cloudy night on this particular evening, and Yoosung was engaging in entertaining himself by reading human literature. He had apparently picked up some “shoujo manga,” whatever that was. The young star boy hated to admit it, but amongst the cliche and cheesy romance tropes within these illustrated books, Yoosung found some joy when reading them. Whether it was the sickeningly sweet romance that drove wild fantasies or his imaginations running amok, Yoosung knew for certain that he desperately sought out a relationship. Maybe it stemmed from the many years of lonely nights he had spent putting up stars in the night sky, wondering whether his whole life would be just the same tiring action. It was quite sad in a sense, being so desperate to seek out a relationship. He just wanted any form of affection really. It was embarrassing and brought a bit of shame upon the blonde. Another thing that did embarrass the star boy was the fact that he thought of (MC) whenever the idea of a romantic relationship crossed his mind. Gosh, why couldn’t he get her off of his mind? Was he that into her? Maybe hormones? He was a celestial body for goodness sake, what hormones could he possibly have? Ugh, he had been reading too many human books, hadn’t he?
There she sat though, in the same spot as always, atop the bright white of the moon. His heart beat a bit faster, remembering the other night where she had told him her name. (MC). Ah, such a sweet name. It flowed easily and was quite comfortable to say.
“(MC),” he whispered to himself, a small smile present after. Oh how much he longed to talk to her again. God, snap out of it Yoosung! She’s only talked to you once, and you get butterflies in your stomach from such a tiny interaction! Besides, she probably doesn’t think of you that way! You’re such a tiny celestial being in the grand scheme of things, easily replaceable and unnoticed by everyone. All the other beings talk about the sun, the galaxies, and the planets, the most beloved of them all. A lone star boy doesn’t make a big difference for they just dot the skies in order to allow the other celestial bodies to shine as bright as these stars.
Yet, (MC)’s words from that night stuck to him. Did he really have an important role? Did the humans down below really enjoy his work? Do they really kiss and share intimate moments with one another under these stars? For a few moments in his entire career, Yoosung felt important. He felt needed in these vast skies. Why, Yoosung was the one that created the backdrop of the sky, even if it allowed the other beings to shine even brighter. Yoosung was needed in this universe! That (MC) sure had a way with words, making Yoosung feel proud of his job.
“Yoosung, is that you?” It was that sickly sweet voice again. To others, it might’ve been a bit too much. Maybe it was quite a bit squeaky, or maybe it was just a tinge too irritating, but that voice was a melody to Yoosung’s ears. Why, it’s (MC) of course, the one Yoosung didn’t want to admit that he had fallen for.
“(MC)!” He called out in excitement. “Why aren’t you atop of the moon? You know you can’t abandon your position, or else you’ll get shunned by society!” How adorable of Yoosung to look after (MC). “I’ve finished my duty for tonight, but you are just getting started. The night is still young, and the moon needs its maiden to watch over it.” The last part was a bit embarrassing for inexperienced little Yoosung to say, but it was quite worth it as he saw the cutest little blush on (MC).
“Don’t worry, I just set out on a little walk. Besides, my job is to care for and look after the moon. The moon will keep on shining brightly even without me.” Her eyes glistened when she spoke about her job, which she was quite proud of; to have the honor of guarding the moon at night, when all of its beauty was cast onto the land below, it was quite a respectable position. Yoosung could only dream of that respect for star boys went unnoticed in the society of the celestial beings. “But, thank you for caring. I admit, not many have really looked my way, instead dismissing my job as too easy and unworthy of being a celestial being.”
“But that’s far from the truth!” Yoosung proclaimed a bit too loudly. “The moon is so important to both the Earth and humans. Why, don’t you control the waves of the four oceans? You also create spectacular eclipses for the humans down below. How could anyone think of saying that your job isn’t important!”
“Ah, Yoosung,” she giggled. “Thank you so much for your words. They really do mean a lot to me. As I said before, no one really cares for me.” Yoosung blushed a bit from her words. He didn’t really think that he did all that much, but if (MC) was happy, then so was he. “But, since I’ve stumbled onto you here,” she continued, “why don’t you come with me to the moon and continue chatting there?”
                                                               ~
It was the first time Yoosung had step foot onto the moon, and honestly, it was nothing like what he had expected. From what he had picked up, the moon was a rather rocky and dull surface. Everything was rather monotonous and filled with craters. It wasn’t the ideal place to be. But, God, all those excerpts were completely off. The moon was one of the most spectacular things Yoosung had seen. Of course, the physical descriptions he had heard were correct, but the experience was something else entirely.
The stars surrounding the moon shone with such brilliance and almost acted like a spotlight that it put the moon in. The moon was visible from every surface on the Earth, even behind the clouds that tried to cover up the moon. The light prevailed, and it brought a whole new perspective to Yoosung. God, it was his stars that gave a spotlight to the moon. It was his stars that allowed the moon to shine in all its glory. Yes, his stars may have been the backdrops, but it created a gorgeous scenery that perfectly paired with the moon.
Atop the moon, where (MC) usually sat to gaze down below, was a dainty table, decorated with bits of stardust that Yoosung suspected was gifted to (MC) by another being. On the white table sat two cups of tea. (MC) had invited him for some tea! What a dream come true this was for him. He would have the honor to chat the night away with his crush while drinking a beverage the humans so highly valued.
“How long have you been a star boy?” (MC) started off the conversation, eyes fixated on the figure that lay before her. This was a first for Yoosung. Someone was truly interested in his work, captivated by his presence. Of course, their last encounter wasn’t taken into account. Yoosung had cried in front of this darling, and he tried to forget that. The first time they had actually spoken was when Yoosung was having a bit of a crisis. Perfect. However, second impressions can just be as important as the first, right?
“Twenty or so years, I’m quite new at this as you can tell.” Yoosung tried his hardest to avoid her gazing eyes. He could get lost in them, and quite frankly, it was a bit intimidating. Were people really like this when they listened intently to one another?
“Really? I couldn’t tell since your work is impeccable. The orientation of these stars and the way they dot the skies; I’ve seen many star boys, but no one comes close to this level. Your depictions of the constellations and the timing of them are also perfect. I can tell you’ve studied up quite a bit on these stars.” God, why did she have to compliment him like that? Did she like to see Yoosung as a blushing mess? Maybe it was to boost his confidence since she knew he wasn’t as proud of his job as he could be.
“T-Thank you,” he replied. This was already off to a cringy start. Wonderful. Was this story going in the direction of a cliché romance story where every interaction led to blushing messes? Well, hopefully, the author knows what she’s doing. “What about you? How long have you been a moon girl?”
“Hmm, well, it’s been around a decade or so I believe. I’m still quite new you see. I’ve been a stardust collector for most of my time out in these vast skies.” She paused to take a sip of her tea. “I’ve always been in such a low-class position, just trailing behind those of importance. It was what I was best at, I believe. I never really uttered a word and just followed those beings that made ‘shooting stars’ and meteors, gathering the stardust that was left behind.” (MC) then made a sweeping motion to the table they were seated at. “This is where I got these starbits and stardust. I couldn’t bear to throw such beauties away, so I always collected and stored them somewhere in my room where I spent the sunny days in. I believed that such beauty would be a shame to be discarded.
“Thus, I was mocked a lot of the time, by subordinates and those who I thought cared for me. ‘What a silly girl to collect such trash and debris’ they all said, sneering and looking down with such shame and disgust.”
“But aren’t the starbits and stardust the ones that help decorate the night sky?” Yoosung interrupted, quite taken aback at her story. “If they weren’t so beautiful, then what would their purpose in the night sky be? Didn’t the universe put them there in order to decorate the empty sky? How could they say such a thing?”
(MC) giggled at his innocence. It was a nice change of pace, always being supported no matter what your opinions on certain topics were. Yoosung was a ball of light in her world full of ridicule. “For a moment, I fell for their lies and deception. I truly thought that I was a naive and stupid little girl who didn’t know a thing about the night sky. After all, I was just a lowly servant to those who created masterpieces in the night sky, such as star showers and meteors. I couldn’t begin to understand the true nature of the night sky.
“That was until I met Hyun. Oh! I don’t think you know him.” Yoosung thought that name sounded familiar, then remembered it was that fellow who was a bit too praising of his own looks. And he had the nerve to call Yoosung naive! Yoosung scrunched up his face a bit at the remembrance of such a fellow, and (MC) caught on to that.
“I see you’ve met Hyun. Yes, he can be a bit overbearing at times, but he was the only one that truly believed in me at the time. I remember when I was assigned to pick up the stardust and bits he left in his path. In our first meeting, he flirted with me. God, how tasteless he could be.” She stopped to giggle at the thought. “But he was always kind to me and treated me as if I was his equal. He never once looked down at me.
“One night, I decided to confide in him, reveal to him all of these negative thoughts that were swarming me. He was quite the listener, which took me by surprise. But he gave me such good advice, and bit by bit, he began to help me build my confidence. ‘Don’t listen to those who put you down,’ he once said. ‘You love to collect the stardust, and that’s beyond adorable. If you enjoy it, then why care what anyone else thinks? You live your life the way you want to.’”
“Besides that, there was this one quote that stuck with me ever since, and I always look back on it. ‘What other people think only lasts a second...but how you consider yourself lasts forever.’”
Yoosung was quite taken aback by (MC)’s past. He always thought that everyone loved such a sweet angel like her. And that jerk Hyun helped build her confidence? That was certainly uncalled for, at least in Yoosung’s eyes. He didn’t really know Hyun all too well, but his first impression was something else. To be fair, Yoosung’s first impression to (MC) was him crying about how humans didn’t appreciate his work (which is quite alright. Our dear Yoosung just doesn’t know how to be too confident just yet). He wasn’t really one to say anything.
“So it was Hyun that helped you out? I always thought that you were so confident and proud of your job! You were so helpful to me last time, and I truly do appreciate you! I can’t believe that there were people who tried to belittle you. That’s so awful!” Yoosung pouted after his little rant. He couldn’t really think of anyone in his life who tried to belittle him. Sure Yoosung wasn’t confident in his work, but no one tried to bring him down. Everyone around him was so supportive of him getting a job as a star boy. He couldn’t imagine a situation such as that of (MC). “But, how did you end up as a moon girl if you started out collecting stardust?”
“Apparently, Jihyun, the sun of our solar system, really liked my dedication to my job and basically promoted me to moon girl. Of course, all that hate and negativity came back, and I almost faltered once again, but Hyun was with me this time. He always supported me and basically applauded me for getting a promotion. To be honest, as corny as it sounds, I don’t know where I would be without him. He was one of the first people to ever support me, and I’m so happy to know a guy like him.”
                                                             ~
The nightly moon chats became a routine for our star boy and moon girl. Every night, once Yoosung finished his duties as quickly as possible, he would make his way over to the moon, chatting the rest of the night away with (MC). Yoosung would like to think that the two of them grew closer due to this ordeal, often sharing intimate secrets and childhood stories. It was quite peculiar, two strangers bonding over similar experiences. Maybe it was due to the fact that (MC) had first seen Yoosung in quite a vulnerable state. Maybe (MC) just felt comfortable around Yoosung. Whatever it was, Yoosung was pleased to finally have someone by his side. The passing nights were continually growing lonelier, and (MC) was an escape from his duties and the society in which they were apart.
One night, when the sun was just over the horizon, about to give the spotlight over to the sun in order for it to shine, Yoosung came up with an idea. It was directly after one of his nightly chats with (MC), one where Yoosung finally realized his true feelings. He loved (MC). Now, he always knew that he had a crush on her, ever since he first saw her elegant form, but that was different. He thought that it was just a tiny crush, a fleeting feeling. Perhaps he was just a bit too lonely and started imagining what a relationship would be like.
But after endless nights of talking to her, Yoosung realized what his feelings meant. He realized why his heartbeat just a bit faster whenever she was around, what those butterflies in his stomach were, and why he could imagine a future with her. Yoosung truly loved and cared for (MC). She was his escape from reality, from his duties as a star boy, from his frustrations and struggles. (MC) was always there for Yoosung, ready to listen to any vents and give advice. What an angel she truly was. And now, Yoosung wants to do the same for her. He wants to be there for her, similar to how Hyun was always there for (MC). You could say that it was a tinge of jealousy, but Yoosung would rather believe that it was because he truly loved (MC) and wanted her to live a comfortable life.
Therefore, he came up with an idea. Yoosung would give (MC) a gift, maybe confess his love for her in the process. Whatever it was, Yoosung wanted to get across to her that he cared for her and would always be there for her. But the problem was, what would a good gift be? He knew that it had to signify his intentions, but he couldn’t quite think of anything. Mm, maybe a piece of a meteor? Nah, what if that reminded her of her past job. Stardust? She already had plenty. Ugh, this was quite difficult.
He spent the entirety of the next night thinking of a suitable gift for (MC), sitting atop a fluffy cloud that floated throughout the sky. Yoosung had a good idea of what (MC) enjoyed. Maybe he could find a way to harvest some dried flowers from the humans down below. The problem with that, however, is that it was forbidden to go near the human surface. Everything known about humans had been recorded by the ancestors of the celestial beings, those daring enough to go and blend within human society, thus providing many forms of human literature that any celestial being may choose to read. And Yoosung didn’t know of any rebels that could sneak into the human world. Well, that idea was crossed out.
Maybe he could gift her a book from his shoujo manga collection. But did she like shoujo manga? Ugh, another idea crossed off. He should’ve asked her beforehand. Mm, what else would (MC) possibly like. Maybe he could draw her something. After all, don’t handmade gifts signify that one cares for an individual. The only problem with that is Yoosung wasn’t much of an artist, and he didn’t really know anyone that would willingly draw him a portrait or something.
After dwelling on many ideas, Yoosung came up with the perfect gift. Yes, this gift would get across his message to (MC), plus, it would also signify that Yoosung would always be by her side. It was perfect. Now, he just had to start on it. Alright, his plan had gone into action. Yoosung was feeling a bit jittery. Would she even like this gift? Well, he hoped so because that was the only thing he could think of right now.
However, there was a bigger problem dwelling on the surface that Yoosung had completely forgotten about. Yoosung had neglected his duties that night, instead using his time to think of a gift for (MC). That cloudy night, Yoosung had forgotten to put up the stars in the sky.

My Life is Very Shoujo Manga, Chapter 31: Christmas gifts
Last time on MLVSM, my dad told me to quit kendo.
At the same time, he found out I had a boyfriend. Surprisingly, he didn’t voice any objection despite the fact I’d always been lectured since I was little not to date boys at the same time as I was studying because they were a ‘distraction’. Maybe it was because he was too angry about the fact I still wanted to continue doing kendo.
That Thursday night (18 December 2014), was supposed to be a kendo night, but I wasn’t allowed to go. Instead, I was forced to stay at home.
Sulkily, I vented to Tony the problem over the phone after he was finished with training that night. Sweetly, he offered to speak to my dad to give him peace of mind that I would be in good hands during training. But still, I was nervous about the idea of him meeting my boyfriend this way... I didn’t know what to do.
Friday night was another kendo night. After a lot of bargaining and pleading with my dad, he agreed to at least come and watch what training was like to put his mind at ease.
Tony was prepared to speak to my dad, but in the end, Dad only ended up watching behind the glass wall from the stairs down to the dojo for about 15 minutes and then decided to leave quietly, without any of us noticing. I think Dad also wanted the chance to meet Tony properly; not under these circumstances. I was relieved.
I think telling Dad that Tony was willing to meet and talk to him also made Dad like him a little more. (I had also been feeding my dad positive stories about Tony to warm him up to the idea.)
I was also relieved I wasn’t being forced to quit, after all the internal struggle I faced earlier and making up my mind I would stay.
~~
Christmas was coming up, and my friends (who didn’t do kendo; except Mal. She knew) began asking me what I was getting Tony for Christmas.
“I don’t know...” Did that make me a bad girlfriend?
It was our first Christmas together, even though we wouldn’t be together together, as I had plans to go back to the Central Coast to see my family. I’d also never gotten a boyfriend a Christmas gift before... What would be an appropriate gift to get a boyfriend, especially one you’ve just started dating?!
He also sheepishly asked me what I wanted for Christmas one day, and I felt relieved that I wasn’t the only one feeling the pressure.
"Aww, that’s so sweet of you to ask, but I’m really not expecting anything. We don’t really do Christmas, at home. Just you alone as my gift this year is enough.” I said sincerely.
“Ugh, ‘I don’t want anything’ is the most dangerous kind of answer...” he groaned. Then he pleaded, “Can’t you help a guy out...? I want to get you something. I don’t want to be the boyfriend who doesn’t know what to get his girlfriend, so he doesn’t get her anything.”
I thought for a long while and gave up.
“I’ll try to think of something... but then, what do you want for Christmas?”
"I just want you.” He reached out and hugged me around the waist.
“Oh, stop being such a flirt,” I hit him playfully. “We both know I can’t wrap myself in a bow and wait for you under your Christmas tree. I’m going back to the Coast for Christmas.”
“I know, I know.”
“Then what do you want?”
He bent down and gave me a kiss on the cheek, close to my ear and whispered, “Don’t worry.” I looked up at him expectantly.
“If you don’t want a physical gift for Christmas, at least you get this 1 metre 80 Shanghainese boy all to yourself starting this year.” I blushed.
“I mean, that’s probably the best Christmas gift I’ve ever gotten,” I said earnestly. “I really am lucky to have you.”
~~
If you’re wondering what we ended up getting each other for Christmas that year (if anything), I ended up making my famous oreo cheesecake truffle balls that my friends would often ask me to make for them, even though the recipe was easy (“It’s not the same, Manda. It’s more special when you make it!” my friends would say). I stuffed them in a pretty, origami box I made myself. and wrapped it in clear cellophane and tied it with a red ribbon, with the ends curled.
I told Tony he could share it with his mum and sister if he wanted. His dad was on a business trip in China at the time.
“No, these are all for me!” He said in a childish voice, plopping one in his mouth. “Mm, these are so good.”
I sighed, “fine... It’s your gift.” But I really wanted to get on his family’s good side.
That year, he got me the prettiest bottle of perfume; it had a lilac knob with diamantes around the edges. The scent was quite intense, but pretty and floral.  I enjoyed it, even though I’ve never been a fan of perfume. Maybe for special occasions. Or at least to cleanse jewellery.
“See, I have impeccable taste when it comes to choosing something for my girl,” he gloated.
“You didn’t do too bad,” I hugged him, secretly knowing I’d hardly use it though.
~~
It turns out when he got home, Tony told his mum about e by asking her to have one of my truffles.
“What did she say?” I asked him, wide-eyed.
“She asked a little about you, like what you study?”
“And then what?”
“Then she had one of your truffle balls, and was like, ‘good. You have the rest’ and walked upstairs.”
Although it wasn’t much, I sent a sense of relief.

Dino Watches Anime (April 26)
I haven’t made one of these for a while, and after the first draft went and deleted itself, I wondered whether it was worth making another one (I make these primarily for myself then get really surprised whenever people notice these). During harsh times like these, I find myself being drawn to the cheesiest and the most cringe-inducing shows, but maybe I just like them because you can put them on double-speed without missing a thing because you know what’s going on. It’s like instant noodle broth: satisfying, warming, but you know it’s going to kill your insides with self-crisis. Seriously, I didn’t come to terms that I really, really like romance as a genre until a little while ago.
With that being said, I want to take a short break from romance now.
I often ask myself, “Why are you watching these when you can be watching really good anime?” Well, that’s probably because I don’t want to have my analytical brain on right now. I want to watch an anime that takes two brain cells to enjoy. I only have two. Once I garden some more, maybe then will I get into the stuff I know I will enjoy like Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Things that I just started but couldn’t get into
NHK ni Youkoso! (1/24)
For one, I didn’t want to watch this before because it would’ve hit too close to home. The show’s about a NEET aka a freeloader (not in employment, education, or training), and I’m... almost that description (but that’s mostly because of the pandemic). Really, this show is riddled with paranoia, and it wants you to really know that with its changing art styles to its cynical script lines to its main character honestly needing some help (seriously, he needs help). I read further (aka spoilers) and realized that I probably won’t have fun with this anime right now, and I will never touch the manga because that stuff is even more insane than its adaptation. NHK ni Youkoso is about people who fall between the cracks of normal standard society and their desire to seek their own normal by any means necessary, and during stressful times, I think it belongs on the backburner.
Tumblr media
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (2/12)
After seeing how much I enjoyed Kakushigoto (which will be mentioned later, I just thought, “Wow, I want to see that other really famous work!” I didn’t enjoy it at all. I forgot why I put the series on-hold. It’s about a suicidal teacher who will stop at nothing to die then ask people why they almost killed them. Through a bunch of errors, he ends up becoming some sort of a harem king to his students (and he attracts the weirdos). I enjoyed the lengths Studio Shaft went to to make this anime appear the way it does (which helps in a lot of ways), but I just can’t continue with it until a much later date.
Tumblr media
Appare-Ranman! (2/?)
I just lost interest after looking at the rest of the cast. I’m all for being vibrant and out there, but some of those character designs imitate more of a “racial stereotype/caricature”. I’m not saying that I dropped the show only because of that (I’m quite dense when it comes to that), but I didn’t like the characters either. I can’t get behind a show that won’t let me enjoy it a single moment over two episodes.
Tumblr media
I’ll pick it up again later (probably)
Free! (5/12)
I feel like they’re shoving fanservice a lot. I try to skip every fanservice scene, and I managed to watch up to episode 5 in less than an hour, and I didn’t even get through them all. But I will say that ending is stuck in my head now. (humming)
This show has taken me at least two attempts to watch so far. Let’s see how many more it takes before I finish/give up!
Tumblr media
Darker Than Black (18/25)
I’ll probably finish this one for the sake of finishing it. I just find that the episodic nature gets stale after a while, and the overarching story is often disregarded. In exchange, we do get some fun side stories, character development, and world building, but I’d like to settle down too, you know?
Tumblr media
Clannad (1/23)
Yeah, I’m doing that now. I’m going to see whether my feels bones are as strong as they were before... after I take a hiatus because I’m not sure if I’m in the appetite for that kind of romance now that I’ve watched two shoujo in a row.
Tumblr media
Sousei no Onmyouji (20/50)
I bet you, someone was like, “Let’s throw all these shounen cliches into a pot then see what comes out!” Bruh, this is bordering that story I wrote when I was 14, and I’m not even dissing this anime. I enjoyed it but need a break now. It’s very cliche, predictable, and honestly, I can see why it has such a low rating. Studio Perriot likes cutting corners sometimes with their long-running series (*stares at Naruto*), and this anime is no exception. Sometimes, it feels like a visual novel. “We don’t need to animate anything if she’s so fast that no one can see her.” Dang, but it gets repetitive. It also has a magical girl power that only works when the main couple does it? Cool, but that also gets repetitive. I just didn’t see myself watching the same thing another 30 times (at least right now).
Tumblr media
Maison Ikkoku
I’m actually on the fence about continuing this one. It’s really sweet, but I’ve had my fill of romance. I have been wanting to watch some more Rumiko Takahashi works though. There’s no reason for me not to continue this. It gives me strong Princess Jellyfish vibes (which I should also finish).
Tumblr media
Recently Finished
Itazura na Kiss
Just... end my suffering. It’s not worth it. The thing about shoujo anime is that I watch it late at night when my brain is at its worst when it comes to analyzing or taking in any emotional circumstances. Then I asked myself, “Would I want any young, impressionable people to watch this?” And my first thought was “F**K NO!” This anime was an absolute trainwreck. As my Discord friend put it “It’s so bad, yet you can’t look away!” But what makes this anime unique? What sets it apart? It shows life after high school. Just like Clannad, it shows that life is more than your secondary education. There is more to life than just being a teenager. I’m not saying these characters ever grew though because that’d be a FAT JOKE.
Episodes 1-13: Girl gives boy a love letter. He laughs and doesn't even want it and goes "no thanks". Girl gets upset. Then they find out they're living under the same roof after the girl's dad made them a house out of popsicle sticks (because the dads are childhood friends). She keeps trying to push herself onto him, and his mom joins in and is plotting so much more than you'd expect. The best part is that this main girl already has a childhood friend who's like "please marry me. I'll cook for you, work for you, take a bullet for you, slice my head off if it means you won't chip a nail--" then the girl replied by chasing after the guy who calls her stupid on a daily basis and genuinely believes she can't do anything.
Episodes 14-25: Guy gets dragged to his own wedding and generally does not care for the girl unless she’s either not looking or is on death’s bed. He practically deserts her every other time, and we’re supposed to think it’s romantic when he finally gives a crap about his wife (even when she’s pregnant). The show constantly reminds you that even other characters have doubts that our main character cares about anyone other than himself and his aloofness. They have a bunch of missed affairs including a hoe that tries to leave her husband on her honeymoon to get with Mr. Aloof and a nursing student that genuinely cares about MC and the fact that her husband doesn’t care about her at all.
The moral of the story of this anime: If you chase after somebody long enough, they will cave in and marry you even if they don’t like you, want you, insult you, bully you, or generally show all the signs of an unwilling partner.
Anyway, this anime is crap. I can’t believe I watched it. I want those few hours back (I fast-forwarded a lot, okay?) I can’t believe I finished it. Looking back makes me want to press undo. Having this under my history is a shame to my family. Even if I was sleepy and generally out of it, that’s no excuse for choosing this. Sayonara
I will say that Daisuke Hirakawa and Nana Mizuki did give good character voices despite the circumstances. That, and I haven’t heard from Hirakawa besides those couple of scenes from School Days (which... is a different type of romance), Free! (which I dropped when his character joined), that gumball scene from Jojo, and that introduction to him being the new Demon Slayer villain. I didn’t realize he was that old though.
Tumblr media
Special A
This is one of the anime that my sister watched, and I thought, “I need to be reminded of what a somewhat healthy relationship can be” I wasn’t disappointed because the last anime left such a bad taste in my mouth that literally anything could’ve soothed the aching wound which was bad decision making. Even under regular circumstances, I probably still would’ve enjoyed it, but since it came at the right time, I give it an extra nod of approval. I also never realized that the second opening was inadvertently drilled into my brain because I kept overhearing my sister watching it. Now that I’ve grown up, I realize I was listening to the voices of some of my favourite seiyuu. Go figure.
The story was really sweet with characters that I genuinely liked by the end (not my favourite cast by a very long shot, but it was slightly above average). It was slightly above average for me in a lot of ways (ironically), and it was enjoyable. The art is very fitting for its time, the music was very... ordinary, and the story was simple enough that you knew exactly what was going to happen at any given moment. This show should be titled: Special A(ppreciation for those brave people who have fallen in the friendzone; we’ll get ‘em next time).
Tumblr media
Akatsuki no Yona OVAs
Unlike the actual TV series, this stuff actually ends conclusively without ending on the CLIMAX OF THE BIG ARC. SERIOUSLY, I WAS ROBBED. You can say, “There’s a perfectly good manga right there.” Shut up. I want my fight scenes animated with a big helping of a strong female lead. It gave me a sudden appreciation for Hiro Shimono and his character Zeno who literally just inserted himself in last minute in the anime (but these OVAs perfectly explain everything). You probably shouldn’t watch the anime without watching these OVAs because they’re canon, funny, and touching at times. It enhances the series.
According to the animation, we know it can do fight scenes. Give us another season, cowards! Actually, it’s Studio Perriot, so if we ever get it, it might be two stickmen duking it out.
Tumblr media
Haikara-san ga Tooru Movie 2
You know, I really enjoyed the movie. The first one. This one? Not so much. Actually, I felt so done. I was looking forward to this so much. It’s like going to a restaurant, expecting really good pasta, and then being served some leaves from the weeds out back. Eventually, it tastes better when you add some dressing and cheese, but it still isn’t a bowl of pasta. This show casts aside everything I like about it (present-tense because they didn’t kill everything of it) and leaves one little inkling of its valued ideas. Instead, we get a romance-chasing movie that feels a bit more like an amnesia fiction that’s slightly higher quality than usual. I can’t say I regret watching the movie. There were some redeeming qualities, but they jumped from a 9/10 to a high 6/10 that managed to squeak itself into an overall 7/10.
(This gif is from the first movie, but I can’t find any from the second movie anyway)

Currently Watching (Not Seasonal)
Samurai Champloo
This anime is a staple of Shinichiro Watanabe, and after this, I will probably watch Cowboy Bebop, Carole & Tuesday, and Space Dandy. I did enjoy Sakamichi no Apollon and Zankyou no Terror.
Plus, after all that romance, I need some samurai slaughter. The fight scenes and the music get me every time. I don’t even need to say anything else about the anime. The fight scenes are enough to watch alone.
