I feel like ppl focus on Bruce training the robins to kick ass from a young age when that’s definitely not all that was. He had to teach them field medicine and how to pick locks and sneak around silently and how to notice things, sure he taught them how to hit things with sticks of multiple sizes, but he also taught them how to grapple around and land from a fall.

They probably had intimidation lessons and interrogation lessons and sessions where they just meditated for hours straight. They’re taught how to calm down civilians and to train their voices to sound different in costume and so many things that would make them the most terrifying children to live with.

Bruce is actively training them to be good at bothering him because they like trying out their new espionage skills at Galas and trying to sneak around him while he’s asleep to prank him.

When we think of training to be Robin it’s easy to think of sparring and gymnastics equipment when it’s fun to remember the other parts of it. Some days Bruce would probably just give the kids a Hunt a Killer box and a time limit.

in japanese, a mole under the eye is called a 泣きぼくろ, pronounced "nakibokuro," which means "tear mole." according to folk belief, a nakibokuro can mean someone is prone to crying, is crying on the inside, that they have a tragic life, etc.

you see it sometimes in japanese media on tragic characters, or characters with an inner sadness, for example:

One of my favorite little things in Knives Out and an example of how little the Thrombeys thought of Marta is when the cops are going over the timeline provided by the family's memories, they say Marta left at midnight. It shows Walt's memory and has Marta walk out silently and then he checks his watch to notice the time. But in Marta's memory and what actually happened, Harlan specifically told her to call attention to the time when she left, and when she walks out she says "omg it's midnight already" and that makes Walt look at his watch. But in his memory, he decided independently to check the time. And Marta noting the time worked exactly how Harlan wanted it to. Bc no one pays attention to her at all.

So in Stampede at least (I don't remember much of the OG and haven't had the time to read the manga) Knives hatred of the human race starts after reading a book from Earth.

What book you may ask? From what we saw in the anime it's the bible.

The Christian bible.

Now, maybe he read other scriptures as well, but as far as we are shown/told he has only read the christian bible.

The majority of what he bases humanity off of is one (1) religious text that even the people of said religion most likely haven't read themselves.

No wonder he wants to destroy humanity.

Thinking again about my plans for Vash and Knives in ITNL

Which I can't really get into the specifics for How I'm going to do things w/o going into spoiler territory. But I Do have Vash & Knives tagged on the fic for a reason. I set up in the first chapter that Vash is determined to try to save Knives too.

Which. That choice, as well as the entire basis for all of this, depends so much on that final fight in trimax. The one that was literally a scene away from where ITNL Vash went back in time. His mentality just a hair's width away from that...

At the end of trimax, there was reconciliation, however brief and incomplete it was. In ITNL, my question to myself was How could I induce that again? Under different circumstances, How Else could we get there? And that is the long-game in ITNL.

Listen. I am just utterly fascinated by Naruto's world building. And if I can find a way to fit Vash (and Nai) into the Naruto world's lore in a way that is both convincing and fitting. Then fuck YEAH I wanna do it
