A completely random, self-indulgent thought based on a snippet from our conversation about Damon's character... But I'm now really curious about how you'd rank the DN boys based on their attractiveness levels in canon. Personally, I always saw Damon as the most physically attractive, even if he's not my favourite, just because the context in DN points to Damon being very handsome. Though a personal headcanon is that I always saw his looks as close to a dark, fallen angel rather than classically rugged handsomeness.

i actually never had them ranked but saw them as being attractive for different reasons or features. That's why the idea of ranking them took me by surprise! So, this isn't my official ranking, but more of what features I think of when I think of them.

I see Kai as the more classically handsome, with his clean hair cut and mixed features. He sticks out the most because of his Japanese features, which draws a lot of attention. We know his mom is gorgeous, and that he got some features from her, such as his lips and smile. He's swoon-worthy, for sure.

Speaking of smiles, Will's got the best one, hands down. His smile makes you smile and you don't even know why. I do picture him having dreamy green eyes, which probably goes a long way. He's attractive, but somewhere between boyish and handsome. In the first chapter of NF, Emory mentions his scruffiness. Because of this, I headcanon he looks much younger when he's clean shaven, leaning in those boyish features, and more handsome when he's growing a beard.

Michael is the most average, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Still, there's something about him that is still captivating. Obviously being attractive, he meets the typical standards of facial symmetry, having good skin, and being naturally athletic which keeps him in good health. However, I think most of what makes Michael attractive is what's behind his eyes. It's unspoken, just something about him, and I think people wouldn't be able to put their finger one why exactly they're drawn to him other than his features. That and he's the tallest at 6'4, which wins him points regardless of what his face looks like. His good looks are a bonus.

Like you, I see Damon as not being the typical rugged handsome type. There's something about him that's slightly off, and yet. . . What sticks out right now is that part of the bonus scene from Michael's section, where he comments that the longer Damon makes them wait, the more they want him. Sometimes I wonder if Damon really is that attractive or if people are building him up in their minds (keeping in mind that I see most of their peers as being above average in terms of attractiveness, just on the basis that they're all rich and can afford the best of the best. That goes a long way in being considered physically attractive). Regardless, Damon's undoubtedly, undeniably the most captivating to look at and watch. All the appeal of a dark, fallen angel, as you said. Whether he's the most "attractive", I think most are attracted to him for one reason or another, even if their personal preference is one of the other three.

I think a lot of it is influenced by personal preference. But like you said, Damon's probably the most attractive even though he's not your favorite. To me, I wondered how the other girls felt about them. You have girls like Arion, who clearly had a thing for Damon, but probably would have settled for one of the others if they'd given her a chance. But were their girls who were only interested in one of them and none of the others, even if they could admit they were good looking. There had to be, right?

Sorry I can't give you my official ranking. I agree that Damon is made out to be the most attractive, but I have no idea where the other three would land. All four are tied in my head.

Okay, so you know how Get Hit’s Hydreigon is a lower level in BW2 than it is in BW? 

I’ve heard a fair number of takes on this, but here’s mine:

((ADDED SIDENOTE: Nobody has to adhere to this headcanon! As of writing this post, I’m in the middle of writing the Ghetsis fight in the fic chronicling Hilbert’s journey, and it’s just something I thought of as I connected some dots!))

Hydreigon lost one of its arm/heads in the battle against Hilbert, which takes away a little bit of its fighting power. The Life Orb it holds and the fact that its moveset is physical in BW2 could be a way of attempting to make up for that loss: with how long it would take Ghetsis to raise another Deino to full evolution, replacing Hydreigon would be more trouble than it was worth for Ghetsis.

As for how Hydreigon lost that arm?

It could be argued that he had the misfortune to face Michelle in that battle. 

Michelle, whose mother was an unusual Samurott who once encouraged her to use whatever trick she had if it meant protecting what was precious to her.

Both Pokemon were evenly matched, but Hydreigon was faster. Dragon Pulse took out most of her stamina, she could not take another one without going down. 

It didn’t take long for her to decide that if she was going to go down, she would do everything she could to fuck Hydreigon up and spite Ghetsis in one go. Her main motivation was to protect Hilbert at all costs, but any sense of honor had gone out the window at that point - right now, her actions were dictated by a desire for revenge.

So she used Aqua Jet to get close to Hydreigon. The Dragon-type was caught off-guard by the move, with created the perfect opening for Michelle to tackle the dragon to the ground and bite as hard as she could onto his shoulder (where Hydreigon’s arm met the rest of its body). It was only when she tasted blood that she grabbed a seamitar and swung. 

She didn’t stop until Ghetsis had to return Hydreigon to his PokeBall, but she had accomplished her goal by that time. Hydreigon’s arm could still be flopping onto the floor beneath her, the head giving out a pathetic wail before it stopped moving for good. 

She honestly hadn’t expected to survive, so she went all-out.

Now that I'm thinking about Will rescuing dogs with Banks, does anyone have any thoughts on their relationship?

I like the idea that Banks is quietly fond of Will. She'll still knock some sense into him when he's going over the line. Unlike Kai, she doesn't have the patience, and unlike Damon, she's not amused. But now that they're friendly, she'll admit he's funny on occasion.

Reversing it, though, is Nik just Kai's wife to Will? Damon's little sister? Does she actually remind him of Emory in some ways? Does he see her as a friend, outside of the other two.

It's another area where I'd like to understand their relationship a bit better. If we had one or two moments of interaction, outside of HA, to see how their bond has changed over the years.

Steven

Has a personal vendetta against Khonshu for scaring the hell out of him, so regularly does everything he can to be a little shit at any opportunity. 

Talks, a lot. Constant talking, constant questions, purposefully not even listening to the answers and just talking over him with even more questions. 

Tells Khonshu his knowledge of ancient Egypt is wrong (Steven knows it isn’t, but he enjoys how mad Khonshu gets). Also tells him his pronunciation of hieroglyphics needs work.

Will loudly sigh and declare that “the moon looks like shit today.”

Marc

Threatens him with Steven. All. The Time. 

“If you don’t start being reasonable I’ll get Steven.” 

Or just straight up peaces out and lets Steven deal with him. 

Once he realises that Jake doesn’t like Khonshu pissing him off either, he threatens him with Jake too.

Will also repeat whatever Khonshu says as a question as if he doesn’t understand him. (He does.) It always takes Khonshu a minute to realise Marc is messing with him. 

“Marc Spector, I need you to-” “Or what, you’ll make Layla your avatar?” Khonshu: -.-*

Jake

Ignores him.

Literally no reaction.

Khonshu could cause a solar eclipse and Jake doesn’t bat an eye.

Doesn’t flinch when Khonshu’s loud.

Doesn’t look up when he does that breeze thing. 

Just carries on about his day as if the god wasn’t talking. 

There are a couple of things that cause Jake to react that way, either it’s Jake’s day off/lunch break (he literally marks the dates and times on a calendar just for Khonshu and taps it if he bothers him during that time once. Then it’s straight up ignore town.) 

“Jake Lockey, I have a task for you.” 

Jake points to the calendar which has ‘Jake annual leave’ written on it in red pen. 

OR Khonshu’s annoyed him (or more likely Marc or Steven, or both.) He will not talk to Khonshu until the god apologies to all the offended parties. 

Khonshu once did the whole, ‘I have lived for millennia, you think I can’t wait out you ignoring me?’ to Jake, who was reading the newspaper. Jake promptly looked up once, slowly, to look straight at Khonshu and then went back to reading. When Jake was still ignoring him the next day Khonsu appologised in a very grumpy god way.

KOBD HCs Pt.2

alrighty I was nice last time with fluffy hcs, now for some angsty ones to start it off

after breakdown got his eye taken, he sometimes wakes up and forgets it's gone and panics for a few seconds when he can't see from that optic

he tries to play it off, acting like nothing happened, but knockout notices

KO isn't really sure what to do, he knows he can't take away what happened to breakdown

so he gently kisses his eyepatch, breakdown flinches a little at first but knows he's safe

when breakdown died, knockout assumed he went missing or was captured again (i think this is canon, its been a while since ive watched s1 so just bare with me lol), BD dying didn't even cross KO's mind

not until he finally saw what silas did

I believe that knockout stated the whole situation didn't bother him, simply because he was too numb to process it

he didn't do anything, there wasn't really anything to do. nothing would bring his conjunx back

(ill expand more on the angst in a separate post but that was a taste)

for their honeymoon, knockout and breakdown went to the acid wastes so breakdown could drive as much as he wanted to without worrying abt getting burned by the sun (the area they're from, from what i read, has a sun that can burn bots if they don't get away from the light fast enough)

breakdown's the type of dude to (if he could) drink expired milk, shrug, then proceed to still drink it as knockout watches in horror

both of them treat vehicons like actual decent people, unlike the other higher ranking decepticons. because of this, KOBD is very well liked by them, especially breakdown
