FINALLY!

Wassup! How's everybody? College is closing for summer! I finally have the time to jam around the Laika fandom again! Ugh it's been a while focusing on my schoolworks and haven't been able to focus on those sweet art of mine! I even had unfinished fanfictions😭 but I'll use my extra months for it to balance my side job and making content

Yeesh..but first, I better take a break and relax for a summer vacation with my fam and companions tomorrow😊

Took the laiki for a quick hike today! Torch got in 4.5 miles and continues to be a rockstar off leash. I've missed hiking with Raven ( @petrichorpaws ) and her owners 💕

If you don’t mind me asking outta curiosity, how old is Charlie exactly? I read that Charlie is teenage of sorts (from the writing piece you did with ur friends with Charlie first leaving the lab- the first chapter I believe). As said, just genuinely curious :))

I don't mind! Basically, his exact age is kind of a mystery to him and his adoptive older siblings, because 1) Aria Corp has all of his records and documents filed away and it's not like he can ask nicely for them back, and 2) it was impossible for him to keep track of time passing accurately when trapped underground with no windows to the outside world. Eventually he forgot what day his birthday was supposed to be on entirely... He'd spent many of his birthdays completely unaware of it while going through the same cycle of wake up, experimentation/testing/training, sleep as any other day.

Because of this, the best he and his fam can do is estimate, and they celebrate the day they found him and took him in as his 'birthday' instead. Seems a nice substitute, and either way he's absolutely hyped and practically bouncing off the walls with excitement at getting to eat cake!

All of that said: I would say he's about 15 when he escapes the facility. The main story of Cosmic Fiasco takes place some years later when he's had more time to acclimate to life on the outside, so he's more in his late teens there, about in the 17-18 range (in a later game of Fiasco that we played with different characters, there was a brief Laika cameo where it was mentioned Charlie couldn't show up because he was busy taking a driving test!).

He's still around 15 in Cryptids because the story focuses more on the time directly post-escape when he's trying to survive and hide from Aria as they work to retrieve him.

SO, eons ago @laikaspeaks and I came up with centaur cassunzel kiddos (that very first drawing is from last December XD)-- Green is Chrysanthemum (who goes by Chrys), pink is Yarrow, blue is Hazel. We are fully aware that the names are extra and have zero regrets. The original context is for herd AU, but they’ve leeched into several other AUs as well sdfghf

While there aren’t any exact ages, Chrys is the oldest by a significant margin. Yarrow and Hazel, however, are just a few years apart. For reference, the last three sketches all occur at roughly the same point in time.

Chrys is the tomboy of the family, and takes the most after Raps in her coloring (gold champagne sabino).

Yarrow is a ball of energy, and takes after Raps in personality. She’s an exact blend between Cass and Rapunzel’s coloring (amber champagne sabino).

Hazel is quiet and analytical, taking mostly after Cass both in personality and appearance (classic champagne sabino).

Tl;dr: Laika and I came up with a cassunzel fam forever ago and I did some drawings of them because I love them

just started reading the good doctor and even just by chapter 2 i’m loving it so much??? 🥺 i was gonna copy in my favourite line so far but it’s all of them. all of the lines. the fam actually acting like a family in the way i’ve been craving from the show is SO good i wanna cry. like this whole segment has a couple of my so far favourite bits:

Ryan loved to watch the Doctor dance with the TARDIS. That was what it was. Some days it was a jive, the Doctor jumping and prodding at the console, and some days it was more like a waltz; slow and deliberate. Today it was perhaps a flamenco type thing with added arm flourishes.

‘Well hopefully that settles your argument,’ the Doctor said as the TARDIS dematerialised. The vortex beyond the edges of the console room started to swirl and shift as they flew through space and time.

Yaz frowned. ‘What? Ryan said dogs were cleverer than humans.’

The Doctor’s eyes widened. ‘Yeah. And I think I ably demonstrated that they’re just as clever as each other. End of discussion.’

‘She’s got you there.’ Ryan gave Yaz a nudge.

‘OK, I owe you a fiver, whatever.’

Graham shook his head wearily, pulling off his shoes and giving his left foot a rub. ‘This life you lead, Doctor. Absolutely mad. Barking mad.’ A broad grin broke out on his face. ‘Barking. Geddit?’

The Doctor smiled, pulling a lever on the console. ‘Ooh, you’re wasted on us, Graham. You should be on the stage. Interesting story actually. Remember Laika? That poor doggo the Russians blasted into space? It’s her DNA the loba ultimately evolved from.’

Yaz’s jaw dropped. ‘What? No way?’

The Doctor’s eyebrows flashed up.

‘As if! You’re having us on? There’s no way ...?’ ‘Isn’t there?’

The Doctor gave Ryan a sly smile, but he had no idea if she was kidding or not. You never could tell with her.

like we have them teasing each other, making bets with each other, graham’s there with the dad jokes, the doctor looking to ryan with ‘a sly smile’, ryan and all his lovely observations of the doctor. and then on the next page:

The Doctor smiled as the TARDIS landed, the column grinding to a halt. ‘Yasmin. You do the time travel explanation for Graham, yeah? We’ll be back in five.’ She took Ryan by the hand. ‘Come on, you, let’s make this a ninja- like return visit.’

And as for my answer to this question, I started doing laika fanarts on 2020? Because of sheer boredom... until I never realized I made fanfictions and comics for it because I was influence with my fellow friends in discord hahahahaha🤣

So I just go with the flow for now, everyone seems to be interested so why not? Even though I know I a lot of people were too uncomfy seeing my art but they never really see the whole thing that whenever I draw something, there is a connection, so it depends how you judge it or not

And proud to say, I didn't regret it😊 thank you for asking!!💖

it was less ‘when do i have to wake up’ and more ‘when do i get to go to sleep’. I got home from work at 3:30 am and had to be up around 7 to go to the Fair at 8 to be there by 10. then i got home around 7 pm, was asleep by 10pm, and then i slept for fourteen hours uninterrupted. it was beautiful
