How Layer-2 Solutions Are Revolutionizing Token Development: A Deep Dive
In this Article about How Layer-2 Solutions Are Revolutionizing Token Development: A Deep Dive by BlockchainX
Tumblr media
Introduction:
Layer-2 solutions touch the horizon of crypto token development. They take care of the limitations offered regarding scalability, speed, and cost by Layer-1 blockchains like Ethereum. Fees are being reduced, and throughput is given a boost by processing transactions off-chain or batch processing them. It is possible for token creation to occur much more efficiently and in a scalable fashion. Layer-2 technologies offer plenty of room for developers from optimistic roll ups and state channels to zk-rollups, all of which open up whole new spaces for things like DeFi, NFTs, and other areas of application in the blockchain space. By enhancing performance while simultaneously reducing costs, Layer-2 is limiting the permutations for proliferating the next generation of innovations in blockchain and mass adoption.
Understanding of Layer-2 Solution:
Layer-2 solutions are pretty innovative technologies imposed on underlying existing Layer-1 blockchains, typically Ethereum, Bitcoin, or others. Their primary advantages address critical limitations such as scalability, high cost of transaction, and congestion on the blockchain. While Layer-1 blockchains offer security and consensus mechanisms, Layer 2 mainly focuses on enhancing performance while preserving decentralization or security.
In a nutshell, Layer-2 is the way blockchain networks are enhanced by taking part in off-chain transaction processing, or some of the transaction processing, rather than accomplishing all the transaction processing on the main chain (Layer-1). Most transactions are not instead executed on the blockchain but allow for a much more flexible and more scalable way of executing transactions in a secondary layer and settling final results to the Layer-1 chain sometimes. Congestion is reduced significantly, as is cost, thereby making blockchain more widely accessible and usable across various applications, including DeFi, gaming, and NFTs.
How Layer-2 Works
Layer-2 solutions function by abstracting away a certain portion of the computational work from the main chain. There are ways of doing this "offloading", some of which range from state channels that are simple to roll ups that come in complete system concepts, depending on the technology. Here are common Layer-2s:
State Channels: These are private, bi-directional channels connecting participants with the ability of performing many transactions off the main blockchain, the final state of which is submitted on-chain. Applications such as micro-payments or gaming that require continuous interaction but do not typically incur high transaction fees associated with Layer-1 are particularly well-suited to state channels.
Rollups: Combine multiple transactions into a single bundle for reduced processing on the main chain. There are mainly two types.
Optimistic Rollups: By default, these assume validity for the transactions and check only when a dispute arises. It is fast and efficient but sacrifices some safety.
ZK-Rollups (Zero-Knowledge Rollups): Assert transaction validity through cryptographic proofs (zero-knowledge proofs) to attain more security and privacy while being scalable.
Plasma: Plasma is a framework to create smaller independent block-chains that periodically settle to the main Ethereum chain (the parent chain). Plasma has been less adopted compared with other Layer-2 solutions; however, it is still useful for applications that require specific usages, such as applications requiring more off-chain transactions.
Sidechains: Sidechains act as independent chains supporting a main chain and allow for the transfer of tokens and assets between each other. Sidechains are more flexible for transaction processing and often much more customizable but need different security measures to be put in place for securing their integrity.
Layer-2 Solutions and Their Impact on Token Development
Recently, Layer-2 solutions have emerged as changers for blockchain networks in relation to token development. The need for scalability, low fees, and faster transaction processing is emerging with the pace of acceptance that the blockchain is seeing. Layer-1 blockchains like Ethereum and Bitcoin serve as the basis for the entire ecosystem's security and decentralization; however, due to their limitations in scale and high transaction costs, they are a big barrier for a developer building tokens and decentralized applications (dApps). And it is for these reasons that Layer-2 solutions come into play-as scalability boosters, enabling easier, cheaper token creation.
Scalability and Efficiency
Cost Reduction
Enhanced User Experience
Token Innovation and New Use Cases
Case Studies: Successful Layer-2 Implementations in Token Development
Optimism and DeFi Platforms They are known as the Optimistic Roll-up solutions that have brought forth lots of improvements on Ethereum, such as reduction in gas fees and increases in transaction throughput. Prominent DeFi platforms like Synthetix and Uniswap have integrated Optimism, enabling the users to trade tokens with almost instant transactions while paying lower fees. As a result, the liquidity of tokens has improved, the user experience has been enhanced, and the Defi ecosystem on Ethereum has grown further.
Polygon, formerly known as Matic, and NFT Ecosystems Polygon, offer promising new developments for the entire Layer-2 Ethereum scaling solutions with the power of a sidechain and plasma to deliver effective transaction speeds at astonishingly low costs. This platform has turned out to be the leading one for NFTs and gaming tokens, for example, decentraland, aavegotchi, and Opensea, which have been integrated by Polygon. It allows creators and traders to mint, buy, and sell NFTs without coming up with the high costs associated with Ethereum's main chain. The result has been a great thriving NFT ecosystem adopted widely.
Loopring & token trading through zk-rollups. Loopring, a Layer-2 protocol leveraging zk-Rollups, helps Ethereums scale their transaction networks by moving them off-chain and doing zero-knowledge proof validation. It drives decentralized exchanges, such as Loopring Exchange-the fastest and cheapest trading on tokens. Zk-Rollups security and privacy can be combined with minimum transaction fees for the best user experience.
Conclusion:
How blockchainx helps you,
It has been determined that BlockchainX will play a very important role in terms of enabling token development through its innovative Layer-2 solutions that would certainly be offering high scalability, low transaction cost, and increased processing time as it allows developers to create tokens which would be efficient and cost-effective while making up for the shortcomings of traditional Layer-1 networks.
Furthermore, BlockchainX is neck-deep into roll ups, sidechains, and state channels, assisting developers in building decentralized applications (dApps) capable of processing high transaction volume. This results in a smooth user experience promoting a token ecosystem for industries such as DeFi, NFTs, and gaming, and then everything speeds up blockchain adoption and innovation.

I haven't talked enough about Two Husbands, One Wife. Because really, what do you say about perfection? It feels like any words I offer cannot do it justice.
I pretty much hold my breath every episode and pray to the show gods that they don't ruin the absolutely beautiful thing they've created.
And so far...as of episode 7...they haven't.
Because every episode has built on the idea that it really takes all THREE of them to make this relationship work. The framing reinforces this with frequent triangle shots (and even triangle dialogue). There must be a connection between all points, and no point is more important than the other. Every person is essential.
Tumblr media
Because while Takuzo may be the "responsible" one, he's rigid in his ways.
Tumblr media
And while Mia is the realist who easily speaks her mind and expresses what she wants, it can make her very focused on herself.
Tumblr media
They already tried it with just the two of them. It didn't work.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Mia and Shinpei have already tried it with just the two of them too. It doesn't work.
Because they struggle with managing responsibility on their own.
Tumblr media
They are willing to do the work, but they need someone to guide them with structure and remind them the laundry exists. I feel that.
Tumblr media
And although Shinpei is a free spirit who really brings "joy" to everything he does...
Tumblr media
With just Mia, he still feels a bit insecure and not quite good enough.
Tumblr media
And with a younger boyfriend that has so many fans, Mia can sometimes feels insecure too.
Tumblr media
As the men have developed and taken their relationship further.
Tumblr media
Takuzo is able to affirm Shinpei and give him the words he needs to hear.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Shinpei's earnest and sweet nature is able to break through Takuzo's walls to help him see that his rigidity can have consequences.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
His infectious energy pushes Takuzo to go places he wouldn't otherwise and encourages him to try new things.
Tumblr media
But both men recognize that they NEED Mia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She holds them together.
Tumblr media
Because she's the one who can express words and speak her mind easily.
Tumblr media
Who will make the first move when things get difficult.
Tumblr media
And push them to make the necessary decisions.
Tumblr media
Because they're a throuple. And no (good) relationship exists without all three of them.
Tumblr media
Bonus: There's food symbolism (even more than I mention here). Be still my beating heart.
Mia is gyoza.
Tumblr media
Takuzo is curry.
Tumblr media
And it's best when the chef (Shinpei) serves both.

The Words We Don’t Say: Dialogue Should Reveal, Not Just Inform.
Every line of dialogue is a tiny window into who your characters are, not just what they need to say. In real life, people rarely say exactly what they mean. They dodge, hint, exaggerate, fall silent, or say one thing when they feel another. Your characters should, too.
Good dialogue isn’t about giving information cleanly — it’s about revealing layers.
For example:
A character could say “I’m fine,” while tightening her grip on the table so hard her knuckles go white.
He could say “You’re impossible,” but his voice is soft, almost laughing — meaning you’re impossible and I love you for it.
She could say “I hate you,” in the rain, soaked through, desperate — meaning don’t leave.
The surface words and the real emotions don’t always match. That’s where the tension lives.
That’s what makes dialogue linger.
Three quick tricks to deepen your dialogue:
1. Layer emotion under the words.
Surface: What are they saying?
Subtext: What do they really mean?
Conflict: What’s holding them back from just saying it?
E.g. Two best friends sitting in a car after one of them has announced she’s moving across the country.
She fiddled with the edge of her sleeve, staring straight ahead.
“You’ll forget about me after a week,” she said, light, almost laughing.
Surface: She says he’ll forget about her.
You’ll forget about me after a week. (The outward words are casual, a joke.)
Subtext: She’s terrified of being left behind, feeling abandoned.
I’m scared you don’t care enough. I don’t want to be alone. Please tell me you’ll miss me.
Conflict: She doesn’t want to beg him to stay — she’s too proud, too afraid he doesn’t feel the same.
She wants to stay close, to ask for reassurance — but fear of rejection makes her hide her true feelings under humor.
2. Use silence and body language.
• A pause can scream louder than a speech.
• A glance away can whisper I’m afraid better than a thousand words.
E.g. After her apology, it’s his silence — heavy, raw, unspoken — that says everything words can’t.
After an argument, she finally admits, in a shaking voice, “I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
He says nothing.
Instead, he leans back against the wall, scrubbing a hand across his mouth, looking everywhere but at her.
The silence stretches between them — heavy, aching, almost unbearable.
When he finally does speak, his voice is hoarse: “I know.”
Breakdown:
Pause: His silence after her admission isn’t empty — it’s full. It screams his hurt, his struggle to forgive, his overwhelming emotions.
Body Language: Scrubbing his hand across his mouth, looking away — it all whispers I’m overwhelmed. I’m hurt. I don’t know how to say what I’m feeling.
Result: The tension between them becomes almost physical without a single extra word.
3. Let characters miscommunicate.
• Real conversations are messy.
• People interrupt, misunderstand, react to what they think they heard.
• That tension is pure narrative gold.
E.g. A confession turns into heartbreak when he misunderstands her words and walks away before she can explain.
She pulls him aside at the crowded party, her voice low and urgent.
“I need to tell you something — about us,” she says.
He stiffens immediately, crossing his arms. “Don’t bother. I get it. You regret everything.”
She blinks, hurt flashing across her face.
“No, that’s not what I meant—”
But he’s already turning away, anger burning in his chest.
She watches him go, the words she was really about to say — I love you — still caught in her throat.
Breakdown:
Miscommunication: He interrupts and jumps to conclusions, assuming the worst.
Realism: Conversations are messy; people hear what they’re most afraid of hearing.
Narrative Gold: Now, there’s heartbreak, regret, and a perfect setup for future emotional payoff when they finally untangle the truth.
Some brilliant examples to study:
‘Normal People’ by Sally Rooney — where miscommunication becomes the air between them.
‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen — where formality and wit mask tenderness and fear.
‘Six of Crows’ by Leigh Bardugo — where silence says what pride refuses to.
Dialogue is not just a tool for moving the plot.
It’s a doorway into the heart of your story.
Open it carefully.

The mispronunciation of Welt's name used to bother me (as it is canonically meant to be based on the German word, so it should be spoken with a harder V sound). I studied German in school, so I had to work myself out of pronouncing it correctly, just so the game pronunciation would stop bothering me.
But as time passes, I sort of come to think, the way the reason for this mispronunciation IRL is the intent being lost in translation (CN doesn't quite have the right syllables for the German pronunciation and EN direction carried this along in HSR), the reason for its mispronunciation in-game could, if you like, also be chalked up to something being lost in translation (in a different way).
I like to imagine Welt Joyce's name is 100% pronounced correctly. (No EN dub exists to prove me wrong). He got the name right from its source, given to him by a German, and mentions as such when he dies, "Welt" for "World" in German. There's no way it's not meant to be pronounced correctly.
When it gets passed down to Yang, the meaning is still there, but the interpretation is muddied through the inherent perception filter of a young person (as is his interpretation of the duty as a whole). He sees Joyce bleed out against the concrete to save a city and he internalises this as the legacy and the "burden" of Welt. The German word becomes a gifted Title that represents protecting the World first and foremost, and then as its bearer takes off to the stars, off of that original world, in an attempt to save others, it's even further divorced from its original language context.
When Welt describes the meaning of his name to Sunday, he's come up with his own, adjusted and extended definition for it. He's expanded onto it with his own thoughts, influenced by the Trailblaze and how many lives he's come into contact with. "Each person is a world unto themselves, with as many possibilities as the distant stars." (paraphrased)
(He also says some stuff about how the Trailblaze doesn't end when you leave the Express, so it really makes me think of how he might think of... Ahem. Anyway, back to topic.)
Ultimately, Welt Joyce and Welt Yang have the same first name/title in text and in writing, but...
If they're pronounced differently, it just goes to show, that no matter how hard Welt (Yang) attempts to personally embody his hero in all that he does, how hard he tries to carry this legacy in its purest form, they're ultimately still different people, with different experiences, with different souls.
Or, I could just be looking too much into a minor flaw in the translation process! Isn't that the fun of thinking too hard about things? Should we run Mr. Yang over with our shared car? We have to do something about this
#Welt Yang#Welt Joyce#Weltposting#HSR#HI3#It helps somewhat Eins (the one who chose the name for Welt) still calls Welt (Yang) by his birth name.#it also helps that he moved to America and that probably greatly affected other people mispronouncing it HAHA#So as layers pass and it divorces from its originator#Intentionally or not - the embodiment diversifies. Gains its own meaning. Ends up pronounced differently.#Same enough to be recognised -- Different enough that you can hear it in the syllables#This is a sub conscious thing. Welt attempts to live up to this ideal he imposes on himself. But his further experiences change his scope#I don't know where I'm going with this#If Joyce was still conscious in that core - I would like to see them speak in adulthood about how this duty has evolved#and also how it's stayed the same in some ways#How the core is still there (Protect the people around you. Defend the beauty of the world. Put your life on the line for others)#Even about how he's clung to this imagined duty for so long and inadvertently formed his life around his developing view of it#ESPECIALLY how he failed to reject it or turn away from it. Guilt for inaction continues to spur him on in some big ways#Which I think is Super Interesting. His idea of this responsibility really truly defines a sizeable portion of him now#You can't excavate the name Welt off of Joachim now. He will always see a difficult situation and think “I have got to help them.”#Because it's right.. Because it's what “Welt” would do. He does it without breathing.... (Alien Space)#Sorry for this nothing post about nothing. I was just thinking#LOL not sorry actually#My Tag#Hey do you think he still went by Welt when he tried rejecting his duty in the 70s. I kind of think he didn't#long post

i need to talk about how much i love the pjo show's way of introducing annabeth's character's backstory, specifically through her getting used to percy's chronic loyalty
the way she attacks him with a hug both times she thought he might've been gone forever??? (the arch and after he returns to chb) this girl who doesn't hold her breath over people staying around for her, who is so so relieved everytime percy comes back to her
the way she is absolutely appalled by percy's insisent reassurance. his "i'm perfectly comfortable with that, people make mistakes" his "people who love you shouldn't treat you like that" his "you are better at this than me, you just are" this is just percy being percy, always seeing the best in people, and never once treating her like she has to prove anything to him to be treated with care
and she's so caught off guard every time!! she tells grover to tell percy to pull himself together. she tells him "i guess so" when he asks if he has to earn it with her too. she is IMMEDIATELY at a loss for words when percy tells her that she's the one meant for the quest. that she's better at this. that he's not trying to sacrifice himself for his own glory, it has nothing to do with him, he's only thinking of her
and that's so new to annabeth!! someone who isn't trying to make her prove anything! someone who from the beginning saw her worth! not someone like her mother, who would see her die because she felt embarassed by her. not someone like her father, who loved her at first and because of someone else, began to not(or at least she thought so). not like Thalia, who made her prove herself, who for all valiance, still died, still left her. not like Luke, who promised family, and then betrayed her.
she's not used to someone who stays just for her
or in her own words,
"He's not like that, he's better than that"
i love annabeth chase

Batgirl by her very nature should be immediately relatable to the reader. That’s why we gave her a costume where you can see her eyes and, more importantly, her smile. She’s a hero with emotion, which is both her biggest vulnerability… and her greatest asset. And in that space in between, that’s where Batgirl’s sense of hope comes from.

shipping renkaza fucking sucks because you either get people who hate real enemies to lovers and call it toxic or pr*ship because they actually are enemies who want to kill each other instead of friends who bicker sometimes (these people are the weakest link and will not survive the winter)
or you get people who do ship it but only in the gooner dumbing-it-down-to-hardcore-porn way where they romanticize and get off to abuse and r*pe (these people are just gross sick individuals and i hope they go extinct)
and the few people who do see the emotional depth in the homoerotic minutes renkaza spent together and the potential in that for top tier doomed yaoi are few and far in between and i rarely find good fics that aren't just insanely ooc porn

I really want to see a more fucked up version of Charlie in canon. Like, okay, I am a die-hard for sweet bubbly girls in media. But I always see how some people make Charlie actually, oh I dunno... demonic? And it's so refreshing for her type of character. I could honestly see her having low empathy (and we kinda see this with how she handled Angel's situation or even Vaggie's nervousness about taking control on an activity). An exploration of that trait (if it was intended) would be interesting to see for a protagonist, especially when her main goal is about helping others. I would love to see her actually have a level of difficulty in understanding others' feelings from the other residents, sinners, and even her father.
But give her a fucked up side. Not a "she gets more power when she's angey uwu", but a "oh, she's a little fucked in the head". It would give so much to her character that she just doesn't have.
@/murmurmurena (don't wanna bother them so slash there we go) has some fun ideas with Charlie. I highly encourage people to check their stuff out! So many fun dark ideas with her character while also still keeping to her canon personality pretty well! Personally, I think Charlie being a bit more naive to her own messed up traits would work best but her also being aware of these traits can make for some interesting character for her.
THIS FIC, "A Game Between You and I". RIGHT HERE WITH THE FIRST CHAPTER. A bit of spoil for the fic here: but I love how they handled Charlie’s absolute ignorance as to why the idea of Russian roulette is horrifying to Angel Dust. It doesn't feel like her being intentionally malicious or aware that she's the odd man out here. This is also a pretty old fic going by only the pilot, but the point still stands that it was such a fun take for her character!
Charlie is one of my favorite characters in the show in part of the POTENTIAL she could have as being the most bubbly sweetheart character while also being the most messed up character in the show. I can't say I have strong confidence with the show's writing and fully expect them to stick with Charlie being the "nice girl but oh no, don't get her angry or she gets scarwy". Which isn't bad for a character mind you, there's just so much more potential to Charlie outside of that trope, especially when you get into the theories of her either being a doll, Roo's biological daughter, or what have you. And for the MAIN CHARACTER of the show, it would be not only interesting but also bring the spotlight back to her.
There's really no question that the side characters steal the show, particularly all the male characters. If I'm honest, Charlie does not feel like she gets a lot of love from the show itself when she's supposed to be the main character. She feels far more flat compared to the rest of the characters (again, the male cast in this "female-lead" show has more depth than most of the female cast currently. I wouldn't be pointing this tidbit concerning the genders of characters if it weren't for the fact Viv defended Helluva's lack of development with their female cast by saying "Hazbin is a female-lead show and Helluva is a male-lead" and Hazbin ended up with it not feeling female lead (to me) and the male cast just completely stealing the show. I don't normally care about gender stuff, especially since I do personally lean interest towards male characters. But using one show as a defense for poor development of the female characters, and then that show not really holding up with no very interesting well-developed feeling female characters irritates me. It's just very clear that these shows don't seem to care much about the female cast :/)
If you like how Charlie is written that's totally fine. PERSONALLY, I just think they're missing so much opportunity with her character by just making her the standard female character type. I honestly don't have a lot of faith they'll actually do something with Charlie's character though. She's a pretty static character in S1 being the same from start to end. Not changing or learning anything to create any development. What does the end of season Charlie do that start of season Charlie wouldn't do? Fight back? Because we see with the pilot (which is the “first episode”) that Charlie does fight people if pushed like with Katie Killjoy and even Valentino. Static characters can work in media depending on the show or their role. But Charlie is the MC of a show about “bettering one's self”. So to have her as a static with not a lot of strong dilemmas for herself (like we see with Angel Husk Al and even Vox) seems silly. Plus, considering Hazbin is telling a whole story and it's not a fun episodic thing, characters are expected to grow on some level. Or else, what was the point of their hero's journey?
#I honestly have a lot of problems with Hazbin's storytelling#That the limited time of doing plot doesn't even help it and shouldn't be used to shield the show from criticisms#Especially when you can find the same issues in Helluva Boss that has no excuse with the writing (though it's getting a bit better)#I love this show but goodness gracious it makes me have a tangent about it#Charlie's unimpactful character writing just being one of MANY issues#Hopefully the crew take all the criticisms into account for S3#S2 if possible would be nice but they probably had it all scripted by the time S1 was airing.#No shame on the female cast either they're fine. But when you compare them to the given depth of characters like Angel Husk Alastor and Vox#They're pretty lackluster. Vaggie's probably the closest to a female character with a lot of layers we've seen in the show#And she wasn't done very well with being essentially just “Charlie's GF” with not much identity outside of that explored much#Some of this may be more personal takes but it's frustrating. Again I don't normally care about gender stuff in media#It was just the excuse to Millie and Loona lacking development that bothers me#Like Hazbin is supposed to make up Helluva's poor writing of their main female leads#Loona got a bit of love with the Bee ep and Verosika and Octavia are pretty good. Particularly V with her relationship with Blitz#Whenever I start talking about aspects of Hazbin's writing I always end up ranting a bit (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)⁄#Celtrist#cel rambles#hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel charlie#charlie morningstar#hazbin critique#hazbin criticism#hazbin critical#hazbin hotel critical#hazbin hotel criticism#hazbin hotel critique#hazbin hotel rant#You can really love something and still be critical with it#I do it out of love I swear#You're not in the Sonic fandom for like 22 yrs and don't learn to be critical of the media you enjoy lol
