s5 is peak Ninjago imo. you got the ninja struggling to lead, you got Cole as a ghost, you got a villain who feels like destiny is beneath him and that he should control his destiny, you got the ninja all singing a dumb song on wallopers, you got the ninja pranking Cole (and in general feeling WAY closer than I remembered), you got Ronin, who is a genuinely intriguing character, you got Nya struggling with perfectionism and her powers, and most importantly, you got epic jokes.

#I wish we could go back to stories as good as season 5 #all the ninja feel like a family man!!! But because it means safety.#Because it was something he was denied and the idea of not having control in his life again is unforgivable.#'Happiness' isn't a goal. We are looking at someone still stuck at the bottom of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.#Everything and everyone is a piece in a game. Bonds and friendships are assets. People are dispensable.#He wants to climb for the sake of climbing. He wants praise and recognition because he feels it is deserved. It's all so hollow.#We could go deeper into his psyche on this.#But these are also tags under a comic in which 'evil penis music' is the punchline.

Okay, so first of all Dan would like to say it’s not his fault. Ellie was the one to bring some unknown object into the speeder and Jazz was the one driving. Or had Sam been driving- didn’t matter! It wasn’t his fault, he wasn’t the one shooting at them, he wasn’t the one to break whatever, he was not the one to open a stupid portal, and so it wasn’t his fault!

So why is he now like, five years old, and why is the speeder crashed in some sort of corn field. Why is everyone- except for Jazz whose now like six- also like three at most?! And- oh fuck the door just opened and… okay that’s a kid. Like, nine at most.

A kid and an adult, who he hadn’t noticed at first so again, it’s not his fault if he hissed at them and tried to hide his not-siblings behind him. It’s also not fair they’re apparently stuck to ghost speak for who knows how long, but at least they can understand the people.

“Martha, get some blankets, it’s happened again!”

Azriel figured out that Elain is a seer, but you know what else he did with that?

Nothing.

Absolutely fucking nothing.

He didn't offer to find Vassa, even though he would know more about her whereabouts and her connections than Lucien.

No, wait, he did do something. He deterred Mor from going because of how dangerous it was.

But Lucien didn't.

Lucien actually stepped up and insisted that he goes. Insisted that he'll find her and hopefully bring back an army.

And he did.

He also brought back an army that Azriel couldn't find. He brought Drakon and Miryam with them on the day of the battle.

I don't give a shit if Azriel named her power when she has Lucien who followed through with her vision and succeeded.

And when Elain said that she needed to get reacquainted with her powers, Azriel again said and did nothing. Guess that's in line with all of his current plans with her. At least he's consistent.
