Quantum Leap premiered on March 26, 1989. In New Mexico in 1995, Dr Sam Beckett fearing he would have his project shut down made a test run of his time machine. He "leaped" into the body of test pilot Tom Stratton in September 13, 1956. ("Genesis", Quantum Leap, TV Event)

W A T C H I N G
I started watching it when it aired originally, but with the pandemic in opening months
And then Zoey's Dad has a neurological condition that had some similarities to my dad's stroke/vascular dementia. So it got heavy.
But I'm curious to see how it turns out. And the final episode/tv movie is Christmas themed it would coincide with the season.

Cute house, needs a little fixing here and there, but it was built in 1898 in Weatherford, Texas, has 5bds, 4ba, and was just reduced $45K to $650K.
Tumblr media
Love the entrance hall. That door! Beautiful woodwork and the newel post lamp still works.
Tumblr media
Just beautiful.
Tumblr media
I wish they hadn't painted the wood in these rooms blue, but here it is. They even got to the pocket doors. Luckily, they left the gorgeous original fireplace alone. This is the sitting room, and that wood would be very hard to strip and restore.
Tumblr media
Nice that they left the blue carpet, though. It's like new.
Tumblr media
The pocket doors open to the dining room that has a door to the porch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And, from the dining room, you enter the kitchen. Love that they left the stick walls and original features. Look at the stove built around the chimney. I like the cabinet color and copper exhaust hood, too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's a very large eat-in kitchen. This is a great reno b/c it beautifully blends old with new.
Tumblr media
They completely renovated this bath and it's nice for what it is, but I wouldn't have put it into a Victorian home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In this bedroom, the floor's a little worn and needs refinishing, but it has wonderful doors with transoms and an original corner fireplace.
Tumblr media
These rooms are very bright and get lots of natural sunlight.
Tumblr media
The owner was into folk art, and if you like folk art, this home has a lot of nice painting. In this room they did the fireplace, a painted "carpet" on the floor, and stenciled border along the top.
Tumblr media
It's hard to see, but there are 2 cute bears wearing pants on the fire box screen.
Tumblr media
This must be a 3rd level bedroom and you can see the nicely stenciled art.
Tumblr media
It has its own bath.
Tumblr media
Here's another nice big room with a painted rug.
Tumblr media
An interesting room.
Tumblr media
It's very large up here and looks like this is where at least 2 or 3 of the bedrooms are located.
Tumblr media
This is a cute bath. Love the blue floor.
Tumblr media
How cute is this little storage building in the driveway? It says Blacksmith Shop.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's a very nice property.
Tumblr media
Lots of trees on the .66 acre corner lot.
Tumblr media
And, just a few blocks from the historic downtown district.

“It’s beautiful, Frank. I’m not gonna let you run out of here without me payin’ for it, though.” Joel’s eyes crinkled as he ran a large hand gently along the edge of the canvas.
“It’s a gift, Joel! It’s for you. It’s not like I’m losing money on a sale, they’re your daughters. We love them, we love you, you deserve nice things, and that’s the end of it.” Frank crossed his arms defiantly before slipping a sideways smile Joel’s direction. Joel’s gaze stayed fixed on the painting Bill had hauled over from across the street, a portrait of Sarah and Ellie against a backdrop of bluebonnets.
“He loves you,” grizzled Bill from the doorway. “I love him, I tolerate you.” His eyebrows furrowed, but the shift of his beard betrayed a congenial smirk, deep dimples pitting his cheeks. Stepping into the hallway, he rested a palm against the ornately carved newel at the base of the stairs, meticulously restored and oiled so every detail gleamed. Frank moved the canvas to the parlor and fussed with the hanging hardware, and Bill slid his hand along each spindle of the staircase, humming in admiration, before he quietly cleared his throat.
“You’ve done a real good job, here, Joel.”
“Thanks, Bill. You know the place was a damn mess when I bought it, but it’s been rewarding work.”
“Not just speaking of the house, either. You did a good job with your girls, too. Just… figured you probably don’t hear it often.” Bill’s eyes darted to the parlor to Frank, not keen on indulging in any more sentimentality with his neighbor. They’d never been much for words, either of them, and their friendship over the years had grown solid in that shared silence. “If, uh,” he added quietly, tongue reluctant to participate, “if you’re ever feeling lonely with the girls out of the house, let us know. I’ll send Frank right over to bother you instead of me for a change.”
“You’ll regret that when I sweep our dear neighbor off his feet!” Frank waltzed into the hall, taking Joel’s hands in his and glancing over his shoulder to Bill teasingly. “Don’t mind my future ex-husband, Joel. He’s all bark.”
Joel chuckled. “Now you know I’m no homewrecker, Frank. Besides, I’ve seen his gun safe. Might not be very smart but I’m not that stupid.” Frank wheezed out a laugh, dropping Joel’s hands and clapping him on the shoulder.
“Come on, Frank. Leave the poor man alone.” Bill beckoned to his husband, who fluttered his eyelashes innocently. “Can’t take you anywhere, you hussy.” They stepped out onto the covered porch, Frank threading an arm around Bill’s waist and nuzzling into him. “We’ll be seeing you, Joel. Meant what I said,” said Bill with a singular nod, which Joel returned.
“‘Preciate it, Bill. Thank you both. Girls’ll be over this weekend, might grill if the weather holds, have some folks over. Tommy, Tess, the usual.”
“Just send my favorite ladies by so I can tell Bill what to bring!” Frank grinned. “And wine, of course. So much wine.”
Joel waved as his neighbors left down the steps and through the front gate, crossing the sleepy street to their own house. He closed the door and toed off his boots, looking again at the painting that now hung from the picture rail, glowing gold with the alchemy of evening light through the front window. His throat tightened a bit with affection, appreciation, a whisper of pride.
Joel’s phone buzzed, Ellie’s name flashing on the screen.
Hey old man
We still grilling this weekend bc if yes we’re inviting a friend
She’s cool
It’s that writer from Sarah’s thing
