I was asked about this, so here we go! (rubs hands together =D)

A few things to know:

I'll only separate by site (either AO3 or Lofter) and whether it's gen or has a ship. None of these recs have smut as far as I remember, as I rarely if ever read it.

I am not Chinese and know nothing about the Chinese language. I've read these fics through the browser translator. Likely there are errors in the translated English titles provided, please feel free to correct them.

For Lofter fics, I'm using the blog url (x in "x.lofter.com") as the writer's name, though idk if that's how it should be done.

I know you've probably gotten this question a lot, but what books do you recommend as an entry to American politics? I just turned 18 (a week after the midterms 😭) and I've tried to keep up with politics but quite frankly I was homeschooled and my mom is super conservative/conspiracy theorist, so I've never had any political influence besides Far-right and Chronically Online Leftist. I want to be able to make informed decisions but there's so much out there I don't even know where to start. My ideal way for season 3 of the wilds to end would be for the teens to outsmart Gretchen’s smarmy ass and trap her and her research bitches on the island to fend for their damn selves. Leatin and shoni are happy and drama free. The only Hetero couple I would accept is Marty and Bo just because I think they could be cute together. Everyone else becomes bffs with each other. Seth gets fucking obliterated and Nora realizes she’s been a dumb hoe and helps save everyone and redeems herself. I would also like to see dean beat up that psychiatrist dude who’s name I can’t be bothered to remember. All the shitty parents leave the kids alone. And everyone gets some fucking therapy and lives happily ever after while Gretchen Klein rots in obscurity.

I’m sure there are more, but I’ve read all or most of these books recently, and they are all written for a general audience, so you shouldn’t have to contend with too much academic jargon or thickets of footnotes. There are obvious exceptions, i.e. the Mueller Report, but I support taking the time and intellectual effort to educate yourself, and you can decide which looks most interesting and angle in from there.
