just got my first butch haircut!! it's a verryyyy short mullet :DD I'm so obsessed with it I've never had my hair this short before this is such a beautiful feeling

I took a slow road to short hair. I mean at 9 and 12 I cut it short snd felt like I could take on the world! Then as a teen and young adult was too afraid of being discovered as who I really was…a lesbian. After college I slowly went short. I took my mullet to a whole new level of short in front. Then a sort of weird mid shoulder bob. Finally my first girlfriend said. “I think short hair would be sexy on you”. DONE! Went super short and loved it.

I went though my “I’m not single so I don’t care” stage for 14 years with my wife, resulting in a short maintenance free hair cut with no style.

Then my cosmetologist (and best friend) talked me into a little length for a KD Lang look and I started to care again. Now I still let it get shaggy because I’m busy but getting a fresh professional cut feels wonderful!

Short hair is no longer about utility. I truly like how it looks on me.
