you can call yourself a liberal republican all you want, but the fact is if you give republicans support & power, they will use that to fuck over marginalized communities no matter how nice you are to other people's faces. saying trans women are women and then supporting people who want them dead just makes you a hypocrite.

I call myself a liberal republican since I support some right wing ideologies while still supporting some liberal ideologies as well. I feel there is much overlap between the two. Also, I believe I copied that title from Arielle Scarcella since she used to be a hard leftist too, who then switched to the other side. 🙃

I know that some republicans do that and I wouldn’t support them. I currently don’t support any republican politicians since I haven’t looked into them. I’m very lazy at doing that since going that deep into politics is boring to me. I’m currently supporting some republican ideologies. I also know that no political side is free from fucking over marginalized communities.

I don’t know where I stand anymore on the “trans women are women” statement. They are a type of woman, yes, but I still acknowledge that they have male biology. So I’m 🤨🤷🏼‍♀️😵‍💫

I don’t support people who want trans people dead. I know several right-winged influencers I follow who don’t want trans people dead. If a politician wanted trans people dead, I wouldn’t support them. If a politician wanted to restrict gender affirming care to adults, that’s a different matter.

I appreciate the ask and for making me question my own thinking.

I genuinely forget that there are Republicans/Trump Supporters on this app. I’m so used to seeing LGBT, feminist, blm, leftist stuff on here that going through a comment section and seeing people be vehemently against Harris because she’s A) a woman, B) black, and C) Democratic, gives me such whiplash. I’m not American, so American politics are already incredibly wild and insane, but to see blatant racism and just straight up misinformation (Harris was in fact NOT a cop, and she has been strongly advocating for a ceasefire for a LONG time) is just…wild

Always an experience watching the leftism leave FNAF fans when someone mentions that Scott Cawthon financially backed fascist politicians.

The switch from posting hardline leftist tweets about boycotts and signal boosts and critical takedowns of politicians and celebrities to ‘ohhh, well. everyone makes mistakes. who can blame him, listen he. he donated money to gay charities too. that makes it ok! a millionaire in his forties is allowed to have political beliefs. does it even matter? just let it go!’ is whiplash inducing. The antivaxxer celebrities have got to go, but this one horror dev who quietly handed wads of cash to antivax lawmakers? He’s chill, he can stay.

The charity thing is so funny too because suddenly utilitarian positive-negative point counting is the way to go. Maybe an abacus would help calculate the net good of donating to the Trevor Project minus donating thousands of dollars to Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump. -10 points if I push a kid in a lake but +11 points if I help an old lady across the street, so I’m chill. You can’t judge me. Hey, maybe. Just don’t push a kid in the lake period. How fucking low is the bar when we’re excusing maxing out the possible dollar amount of donations to Mitch fucking McConnell.
