I double-check all my grades, but I've typed an 8 instead of a 9 and so on before. I certainly don't get angry at my students for asking me nicely to look again!
Last semester one of my professors added up the points wrong on my final exam, which took about 10% off the grade. I emailed him about it and he fixed it within the day.
Hey, if you're a student and getting semester grades back, and any of them seem wonky to you or lower than you'd anticipated, do double-check your instructor's math. We do our best, but especially in large classes there's a lot of record-keeping (often on ahem less than ideal platforms: have I mentioned how I feel about Canvas?), a lot of calculations being done quite quickly, and a lot of opportunities for errors to slip through. Just today I've raised a B to an A- and an A- to an A because the student had calculated what their grade should've been, emailed me about it, and I realized either I or my lead instructor had not counted some assignment.

Where is "Mansfield park is fine and I love science?" I think I need to reread it; I did read it, back when I decided to needed to read ALL the Jane Austen, but since then I've mostly stuck to rereading my favorites. Maybe "I love Mansfield Park and science!" will be the correct answer for me next time!
Hi there! My favourite Austen is also Mansfield Park. It was what awakened me to her depth. I studied biochem at uni and actually considered becoming a scientist but actually spent many hours reading 19th literature and biographies (I was obsessed with Romanticism at one point.) Glad to see another MP fan here. I feel it's her most underrated novel.
It is the most underrated novel, but there are dozens of us who love it! Dozens!!!
This makes me wonder if there is a correlation between loving Mansfield Park and being interested in science...

Chemistry is actually nice…only when you aren’t studying for exams though.
Like darling I would willingly study you more, just let me indulge in you without the pressure of exams.
Tragic.
