My opinion on the 'would modern au Harrow be goth or Catholic' debate is that she would be both and it would throw everyone off. She goes equally hard on both of those things and no one knows what to do about it.

fav part of gideon the ninth is for the first pre-canaan house chunk of the book, she's all "ugh I'm so normal surrounded by all these weirdo goth freaks when I blow this popsicle stand everyone will see how cool and normal and charming I am" and then she gets to canaan house and realizes that while she might have been a normie jock in the ninth house she is not exempt from being a goth weirdo who hides important doors behind tapestries and sneaks around in the dark so she doesn't have to talk to people. like we talk about her being a jock forced to be goth but nature v nurture babey she's not shedding that bone freak skin anytime soon

What I wouldn't give to be held sososo gently, and carefully by Optimus. Like, almost every iteration of him is super kind, and nice. (Within reason haha.) I like to think it'd be nice for him to have a physical reminder of his efforts to save Earth, and his kind being appreciated. Just, cuddling up to his chassis, and telling him he's doing a good job. And also, that he needs to get some sleep, bc I KNOW he keeps himself up at night with worry that something bad's going to happen the second he closes his optics to recharge.

Optimus is so painfully aware of all of his movements around you. How massive he is compared to you, and how any small movement from him could jostle you around. Sometimes his thoughtfulness is so regular you barely take notice of it, but when you’re up close to him like this lying on his chassis, his self consciousness becomes all too clear.

You tell him to relax as he watches you closely, settling a hand over you but never fully resting it down for fear of crushing you. You might have been small, but you weren’t made of glass. You would be fine. And slowly, hesitantly, Optimus obliges you. He rests his gigantic metal hand gently over you like a big weighted blanket. You can feel the heat radiating off of his plating without him even having to try, just the natural emission from his warm, running engine inside him.

You cuddle up closer to him, lulled into security by the low thrum of his spark, buried deep inside of him. You tell him to close his eyes, to try and sleep, cause you would be there to protect him. Optimus almost chuckles at the notion— it was usually the other way around. But as you drifted off onto his chassis, he felt the matrix hum something within him. Like a reassurance, or a confirmation that the little human lying on his chest was right. It was okay to go to sleep tonight.

And so, with a breath and a thumb rubbing gently at your back, Optimus shuts his optics and falls asleep too.

In a Single Night

I see a bunch of 'Brucie punching Vlad at a Gala because he was being a creep towards a forced to attend Danny' and bring forth Selina about to skin a creepy man with her claws after she sneaks into his fancy party hes having to steal a cat relic he has (also steals his cat as well) and finds a recently recaptured Dani (Ellie) whose forced to play the 'perfect' daughter role for the night.

Or we can have Tim overhear Vlad threatening Danny saying "Do as I say Daniel, we wouldn't want your tiny failure of a clone to destabilize do we?" And that, that sends Tim on a warpath against Vlad Masters. (Clone Rights!!!! -Tim says)

GOD the Jaime-Cat Dungeon Scene (tm) is so good. We spend chapter after chapter watching Cat in utter conflict with herself, torn in different directions. She wants to find her daughters in King's Landing, to go to Winterfell and parent her sons, to stay with her dying father, to mourn her recently dead husband, to be an advisor to her son and brothers that they actually listen to. She is trying to be a mother, a daughter, a sister, to both nurture and council Robb. But it's too much, she can't do all of it.

Meanwhile, Jaime is locked in a dungeon for the entire book (very wife in the attic of him) and yet scarcely goes a chapter without his name being referred to by one person or another. He's practically present in conversations with Cersei and Tyrion, for how much they evoke his name to try to convince the other of something. Others think of his battle prowess, or want him dead, or share the story of his evil deeds, and Cat isn't excluded from this. He's a symbol more than he's a person, a token, a bargaining chip. Never to be harmed for fear of the Stark daughters' lives, but completely trapped by his own status.

So this makes it all the more satisfying to see Cat, in a fit of rage and grief, go downwards to question him at last, after hundreds of pages of this evocation of his name. She's tired of the lack of movement, of the posturing of the men around her, of all that she has lost and had to shrug off to keep going. And what does he tell her? That there are too many vows, too many promises that conflict. He says that honor is too much, that he could never have kept all the plates spinning. That it's too much!!

After a whole year of endless loss and fear and feeling completely alone, one visit to this symbol of a person and he completely and transparently spells out her entire deal, so much of her internal anguish. And then he looks at her and says that there are no men like him, that no one else would get it. like oh my god. george!!!

I keep seeing people talk about Palestine as if all hope is lost like they’re already gone and “the least we can do it remember them” and quite frankly I reject that. These people are fighting for their lives demanding the world to pay attention to them. Demanding their freedom and their right to exist on their own land. In light of the absolute atrocity that is happening in Rafah I am urging everyone to remember why we’re protesting and that these people ARE HERE. They’re alive, they’re real, they have a beautiful culture that needs to be witnessed and celebrated so here are some Palestinian creators you should follow because Palestine is not lost. It is not an empty land that’s gone. They will never be gone and we should all keep fighting until Palestine is free and not a second before because Palestine WILL be free again. I’m focusing mostly on Palestinian creators on tiktok because I think it’s important to see the physically and listen them and just acknowledge that they’re people, they should have linktrees to their other social media. I encourage you to visit their pages and interact with them because they are also being censored especially on tiktok. My platform isn’t big here so please feel free to reblog and also add more links, I would love to follow more Palestinian creators as well!

@/anat_international - a Palestinian woman giving updates on what is happening in Gaza but also shares about Gaza before the genocide. She is currently being heavily censored by tiktok for talking about the genocide and is doing more “influencer” like videos to beat the algorithm. So she’s sharing more stuff about the culture like Tatreez clothing, and organizing pottery painting sessions with people who are palestinian and allies. Extremely informative! She’s taught me so much.

@/sammyobeidthem - a Palestinian man who is a comedian. Genuinely so funny! And proudly Palestinian and talks about Palestine in his sets!

@/elyanna - a Palestinian singer. Her voice is insanely gorgeous. She has a song that has not been released on spotify called olive branch that is about the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

@/monamakeupdoll - a Palestinian make up artist, she’s absolutely gorgeous! She share tips and tricks and make up brands that support Palestine!

@/thatfalahigirl -A Palestinian Influencer she has a link in her link tree to purchase a Keffiyah if you haven’t yet there is even a discount! All proceeds go to Gaza via Pious Projects! She shows various ways to wrap it and shares her cultural clothes and I learned what dabke is because of her and it looks like so much fun!

@/amalzhamm - A Palestinian influencer she posts about her lifestyle and food and her family and it’s just so important right now to see happy Palestinian people. Palestinian mothers and fathers and children just existing. Like all of us do every day. And she shared this absolutely beautiful video of what palestine is like.

I’m going to end with this next one the very first person I saw on tik tok that educated me through his videos on Gaza and Palestine in October last year.

@/iamsbeih - a Palestinian influencer he posts about what is happening right now and what has been happening to the Palestinian people for over 70 years. He talks about his own family and his roots in Palestine the correct way to pronounce Gaza and Palestine. Just so much crucial information and i’m so grateful for him being willing to spend the time making these videos to educate people like me. He even posted a couple of palestinian songs (iirc they’re folk songs a lot of Palestinians in the comments know them) recently and they’re very beautiful.
