I WOULD SPECIFICALLY LIKE TO ADD to a previous ask i sent mentioning davepeta being sort of a dave lalonde, that isnt like, discounting that davepeta also gets the benefits of sorta skipping doing a character arc (in a way that i think works well but thats not the topic rn) so it isnt like. im not saying dave raised by roxy would be all smiles great childhood happy kid . if we DO think more about that i think dave lalonde would have some real "i need to Be Better so mommy doesnt feel like she has to drink so much" type issues . also hed feel like shit about it but hed be practiced in sssorta "emotionally manipulating" her to get shit that he wants (puts sorta the wrong connotations on it but i guess thats how hed feel about it). hed be a fucked up kid still but he wouldnt be like, fucked in the ways dave strider is fucked or exactly the same ways rose lalonde is fucked. he would have unique dave lalonde problems

ohh ok. yeah i like the idea of her being bubbly but it being a front for a more self centered persona. cool kid -> mommy's perfect girl. mom lalonde probably has a ton memories of dave "acting out" growing up but becoming way milder as the years progresses but thats only bc she hides it.

dave in the comic goes out of his way to make the people he cares comfortable, but if something like that gets taken advantage of too many times, a person'll def get colder. i dont think her selflessness would go away completely, it's still there but she'd be way more reluctant/less trusting to actually bring it out.
