going to start this post with the fact that im not trying to be a hater right now im just genuinely confused . anyway. the thing about sonic and shadow is that i dont think its a bad ship or that its entirely baseless or that their relationship is meaningless or anything like that. my feelings on so/nadow are complicated but i do like it to a degree . but i also feel like people are exaggerating how much is there in terms of canon backing for the ship (at least in the franchise overall if we're talking sonic prime specifically that makes more sense but prime is also like the spiders georg of so/nadow). like they have their moments but i dont think its as frequent a thing as people act like it is (again at least not in the games/comics) . like theyre just not as close or as obviously in love in the actual source material as some people seem to think they are ..??? some of the stuff i see being passed around as so/nadow moments is just them existing in the same frame .. ??? im not even saying its wrong to ship them or make them be in love in the headcanon sonic universe that exists in your head or whatever i just think that saying its basically canon is a huge stretch and idk what people are seeing between them that im not . sorry please dont get madat me. scampers away like a frightened little animal

see the thing about 7x03 is that like. you can empathise with amy in the sense that like. having to choose between murdering random people and letting your kid die is a difficult situation to be in.

HOWEVER that doesnt change the fact that she DOES murder a bunch of people and there is absolutely zero reason to believe that she wouldnt do that again? like that is the choice she would make in that situation and they do not find any way to prevent that same situation from arising again.

and like yeah sure from a doyalist perspective you can talk about the way non human-murder food options affect monsters- e.g. vampires can feed off animal blood but it means they are constantly suffering, kitsune can feed off humans who have been dead for a bit, but it sucks and it makes them sick. They are punished for attempting to make the choices that the show frames as the moral ones.

but in terms of the decisions the characters make, being like 'wow that situation sucks its not fair that these are your only options' doesnt actually usually prevent them from killing those they deem monsters. there isnt actually any reason for this to be different other than that sam personally likes amy cuz he had a crush on her when they were kids.

idk idk idk i just always find it frustrating when they will have one of the brothers do something that they both do routinely and then frame it as wildly shocking and depraved. like they do this all the time? this is not worse than the other times just because sams feelings are hurt this time

(I do think the interaction between dean and the kid at the end was like. bad and also kinda ooc tho i can definitely buy that as being a symptom of dean just being utterly dead inside or whatever, but that part is basically just skimmed over and its the killing amy part that gets returned to)

#i keep seeing stuff i disagree with and wanting to respond but i dont want to argue with people online #and also i feel like i have to word things really carefully #because of Reading Comprehension or lack thereof #and i dont have the energy to write a fucking essay about whether or not the people who want to make high quality videos should move to a #not saying its your fault either. shit is fucked. but #service where they have a regular monthly income #or make the lower quality stuff that was good and that fans liked but that the creators themselves werent happy with #their current budget didnt allow them to make the quality of stuff they wanted to while paying all of their employees well #so theyre doing something that they thought would help solve that #idk people keep saying theyre fans because of the creators rather than the quality of the art #but the creators want to make higher quality stuff #and instead of encouraging the creators to make what they want to make people are tearing into them #like you dont have to subscribe to the channel. no one is making you do that #it is not shane or ryan or stevens fault that you cant afford a subscription fee #they dont control the economy or grocery inflation etc #theyre paying their employees well and thats all the control they have over anyones income #theyre doing what little they can #i just think if youre gonna complain about the excessive number of streaming services and the high costs for them #the independent companies trying to make good content in line with good values while paying everyone involved what theyre worth #are maybe not the ones you should be blaming for the situation #when there are behemoths like netflix who dont give a shit about their content and prioritize profit over everything else

ive seen a few times in previous years that a lot of fans of translated japanese media would like more direct translations with fewer edits made and "no localisation" and to an extent this could be seen as professional translators being out of touch with what it is their audience wants from their translations

but in my experience its actually more likely to be fans who dont speak japanese and/or have no idea about translation theory or practice and who are just talking out of their asses without understanding the full implications of what theyre asking for

#i am talking about f*re -mblem #but this can apply to others #now. i am never going to argue that official translations are inherently superior to others OR that theyre always perfect #but ive seen so many people fucking nitpick and complain about translations not being word for word and thus no being accurate #bitch if the whole game was word for word you would get so fucking tired of trying to parse it SO FAST #and blaming changes obviously made by editors or others further along in the process on the translators #even tho theyre errors or changes that no competent translator would make unless it was like 3am and theyd been working 10 hrs straight #there are legitimate complaints to be made dgmw - god dont i know it ask anyone i complain all the time - but its honestly 60:40 #or maybe even 70:30 bitching to legitimate concerns raised in my experience #idk what it is about fans of japanese media that makes them think their opinion about a translation is worth anything when they #1. do not know the source language and/or 2. do not know anything about translation theory #this shit is hard bruv and be grateful to your translators cus lord knows you wouldnt be able to read/watch/play whatever it is without them #kath shouts into the void #why tf isnt this tag ever saving??? like i know i dont make posts as much as i used to but wtf

my family isnt zionist so i havent really had to argue with them about palestine and so idk if i can give you perfect advice on how to talk to someone whos close to you about this, maybe some of my followers can add stuff

but still ill say this, (if theyre jewish) a big part of it is the emotional connection people have in light of the history of the holocaust, and like a visceral feeling of fear, which is purposefully imprinted onto peoples communities. so i think dismantling all the myths that israel has specifically about the holocaust and jewish safety might make them question this? its unfortunate but i think a lot of zionists wont react well if you talk about the amount of violence and dispossession palestinians face just because theyve already been dehumanized in their mind, and they genuinely feel that these people want to kill them for being jewish, and israel is the only way to ensure jewish safety, so you have to get past that first. im not sure what their perspective is on israel and why theyre a zionist, so idk. but showing people that israel is not actually protecting jews, its protecting european and american interests in the region and was supported by europeans literally as a solution to their "jewish question", especially with the vast amounts of jewish holocaust survivors in refugee camps in europe for years after the war. like ask the question why do all these european governments put tons of financial and military aid to israel instead of helping their jewish diaspora communities thrive and attract people to them? why do they actually make things harder for jews and have shitty convoluted policies for european jews who were expelled to return, but also support israel? is this something thats really good for us? also learning about how apathetic and even pro nazi america was during ww2, and how much holocaust revisionism they engage in to make themselves look historically better and twist their reasons for supporting israel, really made me feel like the us government line on israel is just ridiculous hypocrisy. ive made some posts about this which ill try to find

Yall imagine an au where all the first years try to get Sebek to go to their dorm kind’ve like a trial period for like 3 days and then the dorm heads catch wind up this and then are also like hmmm that’d be interesting so they also try to convince Sebek. (They got permission from Crowley cause why not)Turns out Sebek fits very well in all of the dorms and he fits very well in a duo with each one of the first years in their dorms(trio in adeuce’s case ). Like Sebek is sometimes reprimanding Epel in Diasomnia but he’s with Epel on his distaste for the flavorless food(like be so fr atleast Lilia’s cooking has taste even if it’s bad…SHAME ON YOU) and they have a good time together(Vil firmly believes that Sebek should keep his hair down,he WILL rectify this atrocity AND ALSO WHERE WERE YOU SEBEK WHEN HE NEEDED A GOOD SINGER FOR VDC), let’s be honest Sebek is a rule followed through and through and he’s already acquainted with Riddle so he’d honestly do well in Heartslabyul especially as a trio with Adeuce as the braincell but still getting roped into their shenanigans(riddle is glad that atleast one of them knows the rules), Sebek is super athletic so Jack and him went on morning runs together a lot when he was at Savanaclaw and let’s be honest those two prob destroyed anyone that tried to challenge them together(Leona was lowkey impressed), and Ortho taught Sebek some new games while Idia occasionally showed Sebek new games(his favorite was animal crossing)(Idia guesses he doesn’t mind the freshman…BUT he’s very loud…) , surprisingly Sebek becomes friends with Floyd while in Octavinelle and manages to get out of their without getting into any contracts(Octa Trio liked him enough so they didn’t try to scam him..this is a one time thing tho!!!), and while he was in Scarabia, he got along well with Jamil(Sebek thinks he’s a cool human)(Now while Jamil doesn’t like extra work, he wouldn’t mind having an extra person to help him…and he GUESSES Sebek isn’t a bad person to hand out with)and he manages to keep Kalim out of trouble while Jamil was away but Kalim instead taught Sebek some dances(Kalim thinks Sebek is very fun).

Later on the Diasomnia trio find out and are like WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN???NO WAY(None of the housewardens informed Malleus😭) and then all of them end up fighting for Sebek and like Sebek just has like no fucking idea what’s going on. He’s just excited that so many people wanna hang out with him and he’s just like >:3. Kalim and Azul also gets in on it. Like Scarabia and Octavinelle also join in because "oh look new friend to party with" and "ah yes money" but the most important "I..I have a freshman now? *cri*"

I think a perfect ending for this is to see Sebek's skills in person. Because I believe the dorms (sans first years) are going to argue what skillset they can bring for Sebek not knowing that Sebek is absurdly and obliviously competent with most tasks. Like idk Sebek swordfighting with some random RSA prince charming and actually won something for NRC is a flex.

Cue Crowley and the other teachers fending off teachers from RSA to "STOP RECRUITING MY STUDENT" "BUT HE HAS POTENTIAL IN RSA-"

A green thunderbolt quickly shuts the mouth of the RSA professor. and now the Diasomnia trio is like “OMGGG NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE TO FIGHT THE FIRSTIES FOR SEBEK BUT NOW ALSO THE HOUSEWARDENS TF” and then they’re just fighting for Sebek’s attention . ALSO IT WOULD BE SO COOL IF SEBEK ALSO IS AQQUAINTED WITH SOMEONE IN RSA LIKE YOU AFTER THE SWORDFIGHTING THING AND THEYRE LIKE “you knowwww Sebek you should totes come to RSA” (he somehow befriended the RSA student he beat and now they have weekly hangouts)(first years are not happy about this)and then now everyone is fighting for Sebek so now the staff are trying to fend off RSA staff and students but everyone is also trying to get Sebek to join their dorms.

"You are a dork. I got so many friends request and what am I supposed to do about that?" He throw his phone down, spreading his arms to put them around your waist to tug you close "You can make another account like I do. It's not that hard, liebling." You push his face off, murmuring incoherent words beneath your breaths "Idiot. This wouldn't happen if you hadn't tag me at all in the first place." He laughs, grabbing you back to put you beside him on the bed.

"Come on, it's fine right? You're not mad at me are you?" You sighed, not bothered to argue anymore and just lie down beside him.

i lied about the previous post being the nights last post, imma spit out one more before i call it a night!! hope this is okay anon, this one may be a little on the short side; maybe.. i always write these notes before everything and forget to edit them accordingly

wrote this as general reactions instead of platonic/romantic/whatever relationship stuff! i like to imagine reader says this when the topic of trying to find an exit comes up... like imagine the atmosphere the looks the !!

CAINE:

hey i mean, hes not gonna stop you from not leaving! caines part is a little weird, since ive seen so many theories on his whole deal and i like them all, i cant settle on just one idea and roll with it... i think he would be thrilled that you want to stay, though.. doesnt have to remind you there is no escape because youre not interested in it... i think he would casually ask why you dont want to leave, though, its not often he finds someone whos content, at least not content without the loss of hope

POMNI:

she was the one who brought up trying to find an exit, again.. she kind of just looks at you with confusion written all over her face. she asks you if you meant that you have given up on trying to escape. you assure her that you just dont want to leave, giving up has nothing to do with it. she just gapes her mouth, before closing. blinks twice, and just asks why. why stay in a program like this? you cant provide an answer that seems to appease her, though... definitely some weird and confused looks from her

RAGATHA:

she doesnt know what to think of it. ragatha herself has come to terms with her position. like sure if there were a plan to escape that truly seemed like it would work, i think she would jump on it and try to leave.. i dont think she would pry you for answers, she believes you have your own personal reasons

JAX:

honestly i dont think he would care, assuming this is as i said in the note above where the topic of escape comes up and you guys arent dating or like best friends. i mean its your life and hes not going to argue with you, if you wanna be stuck in this shithole thats your business. oddly enough doesnt use it as ammo against you, though, and he bullies everyone over just about anything... maybe he cant come up with a cool nickname that makes sense, or otherwise find a way to make fun of you... but. idk

KINGER:

i think kinger would like to escape but i think he just accepted hes going to be stuck here forever. now if he had someone to fight for and be with and they wanted to leave, he would follow them. otherwise hes content with staying put because he doesnt have much incentive or desire remaining to leave. being there for years and seeing so many people fall does that to a person

ZOOBLE:

very similar to jax, in the case that its your business, of course this is assuming you guys arent close to one another. theyre not going to lecture you on how to go about your life. nothing to say here that wasnt already said in jax's segment

GANGLE:

gives you a soft and meek "but why" when you speak up to the group that you dont plan on leaving when pomni brings the topic up. you offer a shrug, or just say you dont want to leave. true utter confusion, and in a dark way believes that you prefer this world over the real one; even when your memories are smeared and burned, if any remain at all
